Ian: I need you to find out what's in that liquid. And if you can't do it, I'll find someone who can.
Elizabeth's voice: This'll take the pain away, and it's yours on one condition.
Ian's voice: Name it.
Elizabeth's voice: You have to promise me not to come back here again. You just can't be showing up here, being a reminder of our little indiscretion.
Chris: So when is your shift over, anyway?
Kan: Pretty soon. Hey, Ian, you ok?
Ian: Oh, I couldn't be better.
Nurse: Dr. Thornhart, your patient's really in bad shape. What do you want me to do?
Chris: Let me see that, please. His white blood cell count is 16,000. This man's appendix is about to burst. Get him to surgery. What the hell's wrong with you? A first-year med school student could've picked that up hours ago. Ian, I asked you a question.
Ian: Back off!!
Rafe: Good. You got my message.
Alison: Yeah, I did. I was just about to head over to the loft to drop my stuff off. What's going on?
Rafe: What's going on is -- is I hate this. Ok, I changed my mind. I don't want you moving in with Caleb and your mother, all right?
Alison: Ok, look. I know -- I know you hate this. I hate this, too. But this might be our only chance to figure out if Caleb really set us up. And I know that you will be watching me the entire time. It's going to be ok.
Rafe: Ok, well, I don't want you planting any cameras unless -- unless you're 100% secure.
Alison: I know.
Rafe: Ok? You got to make sure Caleb is nowhere near the loft, and the same goes for your mother.
Alison: Listen, we've been over this plan, like, a hundred times. I just got off the phone with her. She's heading over to Caleb's because he's going to be rehearsing with the band for a little while. She's going to go over there and talk with him.
Rafe: Still, I mean, if you're uncomfortable or --
Alison: I know -- I will call you, and I know that you will be there in a second.
Rafe: I love you, Alison.
Alison: I'll be ok. I'll be careful, ok? I'll be ok.
Elizabeth: Hey, you. Oh, you left so early this morning. I miss the way that we normally wake up.
Caleb: Yeah, I had work to do.
Elizabeth: You're not mad at me for any reason, are you?
Caleb: This is what I do. Don't take it personally.
Elizabeth: Listen, I did come here for a reason, Stephen. Alison's moving in with us, and I just want to make sure that she's not turned into one of us.
Caleb: I have no plans for Alison. I got other things on my mind.
Elizabeth: Am I on the list?
Caleb: Of course you are. You're my wife.
Tess: I wanted to make sure that we stay warm.
Jack: Yeah. Oh, that's nice.
Tess: It's always nice being with you.
Jack: Yeah. Well, I want to be with you forever. Tess, I want to take care of you, spend the rest of my life making you happy.
Jack: Wait -- there's more. Sit down. I want the whole world to know that we belong together.
Tess: What are you doing?
Jack: Will you marry me? Will you be my wife?
Tess: Yes. God, Jack, yes. Yes. Yes!
Jack: Good. Because I want to do it today.
Jack: Yeah. I don't see any reason to wait, you know? It's exciting.
Tess: I know that you love me, and I want to be yours. I -- I don't just feel love in your heart, Jack. I feel fear. What are you afraid of?
Alison: Mother? Stephen? Are you guys here? Hello? Ok. Ok, Alison, you can do this. You have an hour. You can do this. Hello? Ok. Just remember how he said to do it, and it will be just fine. Ok. Ok. Right there in the vent.
Rafe: They're working.
Alison: Ok. Ok, I think that's it. I think that's better. I think I actually did it. It's working.
Elizabeth: What are you doing?
Jamal: Look, Marissa, I need to go talk to Jack, ok?
Marissa: Tess is ok, right?
Jamal: Yeah, she's ok. But he said there's something that we need to talk about, and to tell you the truth, it didn't sound too good. You just -- just be careful with him, ok? Just -- just humor me, ok?
Caleb: Marissa, can we get some work done here, please?
Jamal: Remember what I said, all right?
Marissa: That's fine.
Jamal: All right.
Caleb: Do you have my lyrics?
Marissa: Yep. Right here.
Caleb: This is what I waited for?
Marissa: I thought that's what you wanted.
Caleb: No. No, I wanted a song that breathes. I wanted a song that cuts through the heart, that reaches down into your soul and strips it of all the fear and doubt. Have you ever known a love like that, Marissa? One that consumes your every moment, that you would do anything for?
Ricky: You know what? Who appointed you God, anyway?
Caleb: What did you just say?
Ricky: I said -- you know what? Why don't you just back off and leave her alone?
Jack: Look, I'm not going to lie to you. I am a little afraid of Caleb's obsession over you.
Tess: You only want to marry me to protect me from him.
Jack: No. No, no, no, no, no. I want to marry you because I love you and I want us to go through everything in life together -- every joy, every little thing that life brings us.
Tess: Are you sure?
Jack: I am absolutely positive. You are the most beautiful person that I have ever met, and I'm so thankful that you came into my life.
Tess: Me, too.
Jack: You remember when you wanted to get married?
Jack: And I said maybe we should wait a little bit, we're not ready, we still have a few things to learn and --
Tess: I was -- I had things to learn.
Jack: No, no. See, you taught me what true love means. And I believe that when you have that, you don't want to let it go. Tess, I want you to be my wife, and I want that more than anything in this whole world.
Tess: I want that, too.
Jack: So is that a yes?
Tess: Yeah. Yes.
Chris: Hey -- are you all right? You look sick or something.
Ian: What happened?
Karen: Dr. Husbands performed an emergency apenendectomy. It was close, but your patient will be fine. We all miss things, Ian.
Ian: No, no, Ramsey's right. I -- I should have seen it. I almost killed a man.
Karen: Are you going to be ok?
Ian: I don't think so. I think I caught a bug or something. Can you cover my shift?
Karen: Yeah, sure. I'll let administration know right away. I hope you feel better.
Alison: I was just checking out, you know, the feng shui of the apartment, that's all. I really probably shouldn't have been moving stuff. I do that all the time. I'm sorry.
Elizabeth: No, honey, it's fine, it's fine. I want you to feel at home.
Alison: Yeah. I almost do already. You're back early.
Elizabeth: Oh, well, Stephen was busy, and I wanted to be here when you arrived. I thought you had more packing to do.
Alison: Oh, yeah. I -- I thought I did, too, but I got it done a lot quicker than I thought I could.
Elizabeth: I'm just so glad you're here. Yeah. It's going to be nice to be with family.
Alison: Yeah, I feel the same way. Hey, are you ok?
Elababeth: I'm fine. I'm fine.
Alison: Yeah, you don't look it. You look a little sad to me.
Elizabeth: Stephen's just been a little distant, that's all.
Alison: I don't mean to get in your business or anything, mother, but are you happy with him, Stephen?
Elizabeth: Of course I am. I wish he had more time to spend with me, but --
Elizabeth: I know his music's important.
Alison: Sure. I'm sure it's very important. Is this the life that you really want?
Elizabeth: What, being married to a rock star?
Alison: Yeah. Among other things, it gets kind of wild. But are you guys happy together? You know, life as a couple?
Elizabeth: I love him, Alison. I love him so much.
Alison: I know. I'm sure you do. But, mother, look what he's turned you into.
Rafe: Don't push it. Don't tell her that you know.
Elizabeth: What he's turned me into? Have you been talking to Rafe again? I -- I thought you told him to leave you alone.
Alison: No, no, no, no, no. It's not -- not -- I'm not talking about the vampire stuff --
Elizabeth: What do you mean?
Alison: I just -- I meant -- I don't know. It seems like you're pretty dependent on him for your happiness, and it just kind of reminds me of how you were with daddy a little bit.
Elizabeth: Sweetie, you don't understand.
Alison: I understand more than you know. I'm not a little kid anymore. I really hope that you know you can always talk to me if something's bothering you.
Elizabeth: I know. I do, and I'm happy. Ok, I appreciate that. I'm just going to go freshen up for a minute, ok?
Alison: Ok. I couldn't fit all my stuff in the car, so I'm just going to go back and get some more things, and I'll come back.
Elizabeth: I'm so glad you're here, baby.
Alison: Yeah. Me, too.
Jamal: Hey. What's up?
Jamal: What's going on?
Jack: Hey, something went down you need to know about.
Jamal: What's up? What's up?
Jack: Stephen Clay is Caleb.
Jamal: Yeah, I know we think he is, but we don't know for sure --
Jack: No, no, no, no, we know. I saw him, fangs and all.
Jamal: Are you serious?
Jamal: Dude, what happened?
Jack: He was after Tess, and I fought him off.
Jamal: You fought off a vampire?
Jack: Yes. Some of the old strength came back -- not all of the vampire symptoms but just the strength.
Jamal: Wow. Wow, that's kind of --
Jack: So listen to me -- you need to get Marissa out of that band.
Jamal: Yeah, I know. I've been trying to for weeks, but she's not going to buy that Stephen Clay is a vampire. I mean, you better have, like, pictures or something.
Jamal: Even then, if she had pictures --
Jack: Hold on, hold on.
Jamal: She's so caught up in this dang band, dude.
Jack: Hello. Oh, hey, hey, Rev. Ryan, thanks for calling me back. Yeah. Oh, that'd be great, that'd be great. That'll give me time to get ready for the ceremony today. Ok. All right. See you then.
Jamal: Come on, a ceremony --
Jack: Yeah, Tess and I are getting married.
Jamal: Come on, dude.
Jack: Jamal, it's going to happen. She might not be like the rest of us, but --
Jamal: Technically, she's not human, Jack.
Jack: She's as human as you and me, all right? And we're going to get married. And I really don't care what anybody else thinks.
Jamal: And you're not doing this because of Livvie or Caleb --
Jack: Jamal, we're going to be married. End of story, all right?
Jamal: Fine. You sure that's what you want?
Jamal: All right. Well, I can't really hang around for the ceremony, so --
Jack: Yeah, go get Marissa away from Caleb.
Jamal: No matter what, you know I got your back, right?
Jamal: All right, dude.
Tess: I know exactly what I'm going to wear.
Jack: Well, I talked to the minister, and everything is all set.
Tess: We're getting married.
Jack: But we have a little time before the ceremony, so I'm going to te care of a few things -- special things.
Tess: All I need is you.
Jack: I'll be back. Just think candles, romance, music.
Tess: Happily ever after.
Caleb: You've got a mouth, Garza.
Ricky: And you have a seriously bad attitude.
Reese: Easy, Ricky.
Marissa: You know what? No, he's right. The words do need some work, Ricky.
Ricky: No. No, they don't.
Caleb: Oh, so now you're a songwriter?
Ricky: Look, I'm not as good as she is, but I can already tell by looking at this that if you just make a few changes, like adding the word "surrender" to the chorus -- "surrender". "Surrounded by crowds, but I'm all alone. Eternity means nothing. Without you, I'm not whole. Surrender." It makes it a little tighter.
Caleb: That makes it better?
Ricky: Yeah, it does. I think so.
Caleb: Yeah, you're right. It does.
Ricky: See? Give me this. You take these lines here and you put them behind the chorus -- gives you a nice little bridge to the next verse.
Caleb: What am I going to do with you, Garza?
Ricky: I don't know, but a few minutes ago it looked like you were going to rip my heart out and bury it in the back yard.
Caleb: No one ever stands up to me and backs it up. And you -- you know I think you're brilliant. Once again, it was my mood, not your words.
Marissa: So, are we going to rehearse it?
Caleb: No. This is going to be a solo performance.
Marissa: How's Jack?
Jamal: Jack's fine. It ended up being a false alarm.
Marissa: Well, that's good.
Jamal: But your mom -- your mom called, and she didn't say why. I don't know. She wants you to come home right away, though.
Jamal: Yeah, I'll take you. I got some free time, ok? Ok.
Caz: You got that hungry look.
Reese: I want him.
Caz: Stephen will let you know when it's time.
Alison: Hey. Are they --
Rafe: You almost gave me a heart attack in there.
Alison: Yeah, but look. They're working. I did it.
Rafe: Yeah. You did great.
Alison: Look at my mother. God, she looks so lost. I feel so awful for her.
Rafe: You know, you almost told her what you know.
Alison: I know. I'm sorry. I just -- I felt like maybe she was going to confide in me or something, and I wanted to be there for her in some way if I could.
Rafe: Ok, ok. You know what? I know she's your mother and you care about her, but you can't forget what she is.
Alison: I haven't forgotten what she is. I know she's a vampire.
Rafe: Who's hooked on Caleb. So as much as you want to trust her right now, you can't, because he is the only one she's thinking about.
[Pounding on door]
Ian: Open up!
Elizabeth: I told you not to come here. Are you crazy?
Ian: That vampire juice isn't working for me. I can't think.
Elizabeth: You just have to get used to it.
Ian: I'm not going to get used to it! I can't live my life like -- what am I supposed to do?
Elizabeth: I don't know, ok? I'm not sure of anything anymore!
Caleb: Try again.
On the next "Port Charles: Surrender" --
Lucy: I want you to go back to the hospital. And if you don't, then I'm leaving you.
Elizabeth: I can give you exactly what you want.
Caleb: I'm sorry to ruin the party. There'll be no wedding tonight.
