Stephen's voice: When someone's sent back to earth from upstairs like you were, downstairs gets to do likewise, even-steven, so to speak. So when you traded in your halo for the woman you love, let's just say I got a "get out of hell free" card.
Rafe: I thought me coming back here was some sort of reward, you know, for me and Alison, for our love for each other, for our faith in each other. I didn't know evil got a free ride back with me. I mean, what kind of cosmic balance is that?
Rafe: How am I going to give you the life of your dreams and still get rid of our biggest nightmare?
Alison: Hi. There you are. So, what do you think?
Rafe: I think it's perfect. I think you're perfect.
Alison: I wanted tonight to be really special for us.
Rafe: And I just want to say thank you for making every night very special.
Alison: Merry Christmas Eve.
Rafe: Merry Christmas Eve to you, too.
Alison: And merry almost wedding day.
Rafe: Even better.
Alison: So, here's to the rest of our very happy, glorious, normal lives together.
Ian (to Eve's grave): Merry Christmas, Eve. There's no place we'd rather be than right here with you.
Kevin: Hi. I was just going to put some more gifts under the tree. Guess you did some more last-minute shopping, huh?
Lucy: Yeah, there were just a few things I wanted to pick up for the girls.
Kevin: Lucy --
Lucy: I'm going to take a shower now.
Kevin: Can we just talk for a minute?
Lucy: No, I -- no, I don't. I still can't picture it. I just can't picture you standing there and acting so surprised when that woman agreed to drop all the assault charges and agreed to leave town.
Kevin: I thought you of all people would understand.
Lucy: Understand what? That it's ok to pay off somebody and then lie so easily to me about it?
Kevin: No. Because I didn't want our life to be blown apart again. Lucy, it's not like I hurt anyone.
Lucy: You did. That woman got hurt.
Lucy: She almost died!
Kevin: But not because of me. How could I know what would happen?
Lucy: I --
Kevin: You know what, Lucy? What I'm most sorry about is that your trust in me has been broken. But can't we find a way to get past that, just for tonight? It's Christmas Eve.
Lucy: Somehow I'm having a really hard time getting into the Christmas spirit.
Tess: Thank you. It's beautiful. And -- and thank you for last night.
Jack: Yeah. It was pretty amazing, huh?
Tess: For me, too.
Jack: Hmm. Now do you know how real you are to me? You're your own person, Tess, separate from Livvie.
Jack: Ah. Well, I think our guests are here. I'll be back.
Livvie: Merry Christmas, everyone.
Jack: What do you think you're doing?
Livvie: I'm moving in with my sister.
[Captioning made possible by abc, inc.]
Livvie: Hi, Tess. Take that.
Jack: Livvie, there's no way in hell you're moving in here.
Livvie: Tess and I have a bond, Jack. We need to watch out for each other like family.
Jack: Yeah, well, you're not family.
Jack: Don't get comfortable.
Livvie: Tess, you have to convince Jack to let me stay because now that we know Caleb created you from me, we know that we are a part of each other.
Tess: But I want to be my own person.
Livvie: Yeah, I want that, too. But right now we know if something happens to one of us, it happens to the both of us, so we need to, you know, keep each other safe.
Jamal: What's Livvie doing here?
Jack: She wants to be Tess' keeper, but I'm not going to let that happen.
Livvie: I have a Christmas present for you in the car. I'll be right back, ok?
Jack: Hey, are you ok?
Tess: I want her to move in, Jack, please?
Jack: Oh, Tess. I thought we talked about this.
Tess: Look, I know you don't like her, but I want a chance to get close to her, too.
Jack: You don't need Livvie. You're your own person.
Tess: No, we need each other. Jack, please, didn't you tell me that Christmas is the time to forgive and when people should be together?
Alison: One year I convinced Nana to let me open up every single gift on Christmas Eve. Hey.
Alison: What's wrong??
Alison: Don't be like that. Tell me. I can see it in your face.
Rafe: No, it's nothing.
Alison: What's going on?
Rafe: It's nothing.
Alison: Talk to me.
Rafe: Look, I think tonight is amazing. Everything about tonight is amazing, and I consider myself the luckiest person in the world, just to be sitting with you here right now. And even luckier that I'm going to get to marry you. But I'm just a little worried, you know, that I won't be able to protect you and I won't be able to give you the life you deserve and --
Alison: You already have.
Rafe: Yeah, but -- here's the thing -- this world is not always good.
Alison: Well, I know that, but I think that sometimes you just have to have faith, you know? Especially on a night like tonight. Trust me, and I think this is going to be a very special Christmas Eve -- a night to always remember. Hmm?
Lucy: I can't just suddenly pretend everything's ok with us.
Kevin: Well, it'll take some time.
Lucy: It's not -- it's not time. Time isn't the thing here. It's you. It's the way you talked to that woman, the things you said, and the things you said to me -- that everybody has a price and everybody can be bought. The way you said that, it scared me.
Kevin: I just wanted you to understand how much you mean to me and that I don't want us to be separated again.
Lucy: Don't you see what -- it's like you've separated us even further.
Serena: Look, there's even more presents underneath the Christmas tree.
Lucy: Wait a minute. It's not quite Christmas time. Put those down. Come on!
Serena: But we can't sleep. Can we stay up later tonight, please?
Lucy: No. No, no, no.
Christina: Read me a Christmas story.
Kevin: Uh -- ok. What would you like to hear?
Christina: The story of you and mommy.
Kevin: Ok. Which one?
Christina: The Christmas one, when you became my mommy and daddy.
Serena: That's right. It was a year ago tonight. We got back Christina and you guys got married.
Kevin: You know, you're right, it was.
Christina: Tell about how you loved us so much that you made us a family.
Kevin: This was the most beautiful Christmas party I had ever seen. It was like a perfect winter wonderland. You know what? Your mommy - she kept avoiding me. She kept running through the crowd like a running back at a football game.
Serena: Hmm. But you finally caught her.
Kevin: And I asked her to take a huge leap of faith with me. Do you trust me enough to believe that I love you and I always will? It's up to you. I'm asking, yes or no? Will you marry me?
Serena: And she said yes.
Kevin: And then the best part of the whole night -- right before we said "I do" --
Christina: That's when I came!
Kevin: Merry Christmas. That was the most beautiful sight I'd ever seen. I thought I would just burst when I was watching her. And right then and there, I knew there was only one thing in my life that I wanted -- I wanted to make my family happy.
Serena: And how did you feel, mom?
Lucy: I felt so lucky. I was thinking that this was everything I ever wanted in my life. I had the man that I love to marry, and I had you, and I got my Christina back, and I was surrounded by my daughters and my husband and all our family and friends.
Christina: Why not tonight, mommy? Where's Ian and Danny?
Ian: There you go. What do you think? It's pretty good, right? Oh, I know. It's not as nice as the one down in the park. You should see that thing, Eve. It's gorgeous.
Ian: Big as a house. It's going to light up the whole sky. I know it will. Some of the patients in the hospital say that they look out the window and they see it, it makes them feel like the holidays, even if they're not with their families. I know what they mean. I just wish, you know, I -- I wish I could give the boy more of a family, not just this grumpy old dad, you know? He's good friends with Christina, and I think Serena likes watching him, but I kind of screwed that one up, too. I screwed up a lot of things since you've been gone. But I'll give him a good Christmas.
Ian: I promise you.
Jack: I talked to Tess. She wants you to stay.
Livvie: Well, I'm not surprised. I know you don't like it, Jack, but we are connected.
Jack: Save it, Livvie. I don't trust you.
Tess: Hi, Chris.
Chris: Hey. It's good to see you.
Tess: I'm really glad you're here.
Chris: Well, me, too, me, too. You know, I've been thinking a lot about you, the way you heal people on the inside and out. You know, you're a real miracle worker.
Tess: I just wish there wasn't so many hurt people.
Chris: Yeah, I know. Me, too. Listen, you know, is there anything I can do for you? You know, I don't want you to worry about anyone else right now, you know? How about the headaches? Have they gone away?
Chris: Good. Well, it's Christmas. How about a wish? Anything you want, anything. Just let me know.
Tess: Well, all I want is everyone to be together and to love each other tonight.
Marissa: You know, my mom still can't stop talking about you.
Jamal: Oh, whatever. You know, joke all you want, ok, but it really is -- it's big to me that you stuck around for the holidays, because I know how you like big family Christmases and everything.
Marissa: Yeah, I do, but I'll be there next year, and maybe you'll be there with me.
Jamal: Well, I think I'd like that.
Livvie: Well, merry Christmas, Tess. Go ahead, open it.
Livvie: I have one just like it, and I didn't know what to get you, and I figured if I liked it, then you would probably like it.
Tess: It's beautiful. Thank you.
Jamal: So, now she's got them dressing alike? Isn't that kind of freaky?
Jack: Yeah, everything about Livvie is freaky. But Tess wants her in her life, wants to be close to her.
Livvie: Thank you.
Tess: Thank you.
Alison: Remember last year, how we helped everybody get back together?
Rafe: Yeah. Wow, that seems like a long time ago.
Alison: Doesn't it? That's just my point. See, everybody has their problems, but I think that it's love that gets you through that, and it's what's gotten us through this past year.
Rafe: Oh, wow. You're right.
Alison: I am? I am?
Rafe: You are so right. You make me so happy. I just, you know -- I'm done playing this little mind trip on myself. Let's talk about something else. Let's -- my favorite subject -- let's talk about you.
Alison: Ok. Are you ready for some good news?
Rafe: Absolutely, anytime.
Alison: Ok, the private investigator that we hired dropped off a trunk that belonged to my father.
Rafe: And? What was in it? What was --
Alison: There were some documents and some letters and a photograph of the woman that we've been looking for -- the woman who is the mother of my brother or sister.
Rafe: That's great.
Alison: Isn't that awesome?
Rafe: That's great.
Alison: Isn't that cool?
Rafe: You're one step closer. It's amazing.
Alison: I know. I know. It's weird. It's like -- it's like everything's coming together. You know, ever since I was a little kid, I've always dreamt of this, and especially the part about marrying you. Oh, which brings me to my next thing.
Alison: I have a wedding gift for you.
Rafe: Oh. Well, I hope, you know -- you're going to have to wait until tomorrow for yours.
Alison: That's fine.
Rafe: I mean, you're not going to scam it out of me early.
Alison: That's fine, that's fine, that's fine.
Alison: Do you like it? It's a watch.
Rafe: Thanks. Wow, I --
Alison: I always used to get so upset about your other watch, because I knew that every time I looked at I it would remind me that you would have to leave.
Rafe: Wow. That's great. So it's just a regular watch with no countdown, no stopping?
Alison: No. And it will tell time forever, because it's solar powered. And it will never die, just like our love.
Rafe: Well, this is -- it's beautiful. I love it. I -- man, I love you.
Alison: It's to remind you that we are together now and our time is endless. And it's also to remind you to stop worrying, because we're together now and everything is going to be just fine, ok? What was that?
Rafe: The power went out everywhere.
Alison: I know, except for that light over there.
Rafe: It's weird. It's just in that one spot. Everything else is out.
Alison: I know. It's really bright, though.
Rafe: Tell you what, I'm going to see what its, but I don't want to leave you here alone.
Alison: Well, I'll just -- I'll come with you.
Rafe: Oh, ok. Let's go.
Ian: Looks like we lost some lights. Huh. Power's out everywhere.
Ian: Except for over there.
Lucy: Oh, there's just one bright light over there.
Kevin: Well, how can that be?
Serena: Can we go and see what it is, mom? Please?
Lucy: Well, it's cold -- yeah.
Serena: Please? Come on.
Lucy: Ok, ok, ok.
Lucy: But go get your coats and get your shoes.
Serena: Come on.
Lucy: Be careful. I'll get some candles.
Jack: Here, Tess. Wow.
Marissa: This is amazing.
Chris: There's no way that should be working.
Jamal: Looks like it's working to me.
Jack: Well, Merry Christmas, Tess.
Tess: Merry Christmas, Jack.
Frank: Can you believe this?
Ian: No. I guess your mom thought we needed a little reminder, huh? It's right there, right there with you.
Alison: This is so beautiful. Rafe, this was the Christmas spirit I was talking about.
Jamal: Ali, Rafe. What's up?
Serena: It's a miracle.
Kevin: Well, you can say that again.
Ian: Look at that. It's your friend Christina.
Ian: Amazing. Merry Christmas.
Kevin: Yeah, Merry Christmas.
Alison: Rafe, this is what I think everybody really wanted, was to be together on Christmas Eve.
Rafe: I guess you're right all along. I just needed a night like this to show me.
Alison: Yeah, I think we all needed a little reminder.
Rafe: Merry Christmas, my soon-to-be wife.
Alison: Merry Christmas. Thank you.
All: We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Good tidings we bring to you and your kin. Good tidings for Christmas and a happy New Year. We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
On the next "Port Charles" --
Elizabeth: I can have it all, thanks to you. But you know what that feels like, don't you, Stephen? To have one person be your whole world.
Livvie: The one man for me is back to stay.
