Port Charles Transcript Friday
Provided by Suzanne
Ricky: Hello. Hello, here to pick up. Hey, anybody here?
Frank: Short-handed tonight, ricky. They're back in five.
Frank: So it's got to be weird, huh?
Ricky: What's that?
Frank: Well, having this girl around who's a ringer for casey.
Ricky: People look like other people. So what's your point?
Frank: Figure it's got to make things strange with karen.
Ricky: Is that what you figure, frank?
Frank: Makes sense to me.
Ricky: Look, I'm not going to get into this with you, all right?
Frank: Never intended to hit a nerve.
Ricky: Sure you did.
Frank: If you say so.
Ricky: Yeah, I say so. Hey, hey, can I get my pie here? Come on! Hey, hello! You know what? Forget it! Keep your pizza! And as for you bringing up ca-- whoa.
Marissa: Sorry, not casey. Just me.
Alison: You know, you've been a real pain in my butt lately.
Alison: Yeah, you!
Jack: Oh, my god.
Alison: I'm so sorry if i've been boring you with all of this babble about rafe lately. I just thought that maybe you would understand, you of all people, but i guess i was wrong, wrong, wrong. I'm so sorry.
Jack: Well, I'm trying to be the friend you want me to be by trying to get you to wake up!
Alison: Do my eyes look closed to you?
Jack: Hello. Rafe and livvie are married, alison! They're having a baby!
Alison: I know that.
Jack: And you keep banging your head into the same stupid wall, trying to think it's going to change, and it's not. The only thing it's going to do, it is just going to break your heart. What else do i have to say? What else do i have to do to get you to stop?
Ian: Draw it out.
Rafe: That's not going to be easy. The avatar already knows we're on to it.
Ian: Well, as long as it's possible.
Rafe: Anything's possible, ian, but where do we start?
Livvie: How about with some coffee and sandwiches, huh?
Rafe: Thanks, livvie.
Ian: Let's start with what we know. The thing loves attention.
Rafe: It sees itself as a protector. It thinks what it's doing is honorable.
Ian: Yes, but it does have an ego. So let's call it out and strike at it.
Rafe: Discredit it publicly?
Livvie: Well, no one's going to listen to you if you try. I mean, there's already fan clubs in town, i've heard.
Ian: There's what, fan clubs? Listen to what you're saying. This whole thing is a media circus and -- wait, wait a minute.
Ian: I just had an idea.
Rafe: About ramsey?
Ian: Yeah. He might be on to something.
Rafe: What kind of something?
Ian: An idea we can use.

alison: Thanks, jack. I know that rafe is married. If it's the one thing in the world that i really know, it's that rafe's married to someone else. And, god, yes, i would like to forget about it, you know? Sometimes I actually do. But I don't know if that makes it worse, because at some point it hits me right between the eyes. And it really hurts, and I realize what the situation actually is. And then i swear it's going to be the last time, until it's the next time and --
jack: So what happened this time?
Alison: Well, it doesn't really matter, just as long as i got the message.
Jack: No, it does matter and I care.
Alison: Well, it's really no big deal. I mean, livvie just sort of came in and sat on his lap like a little, small dog, going on and on, oh, about their baby together and how "we should all just be friends," talking to me like we were sisters at girl scout camp.
Jack: And I'm sure golden boy just sat there clueless, huh?
Alison: It's not really his fault.
Jack: Oh, yeah, forgot. He has get-out-of-memory-free card.
Alison: As far as rafe knows, there's only been one woman in his life.
Alison: He believes that she's the only girl he's ever loved, that we just never happened.
Jack: I'm sorry for that. It's hard for me, too.
Alison: No, you know, I'm sorry. You're right, I do, I run to you every single time this happens with rafe, and that's not fair, it's not, and I won't do it anymore, i promise.
Jack: No, no, stop. No, no. Alison, you were there for me, too. During caleb, when he was here, that whole thing. That night when you found me, I thought that i had lost everything, my entire life, become some animal.
Alison: I remember that night. You were so lonely and you were so scared.
Jack: You were scared, too. And you know what, you didn't do anything except save my life. So whatever goes on from this point on with you and rafe, I'm going to stick by your side. Ok? I am going to be there for you. You can count on me. Because you were there for me.
Alison: I do, I want to forget him, jack. It's just I don't know how, you know? It's just I don't know how to do that.
Ian: So what do you think?
Rafe: It might work.
Ian: Might work?
Rafe: Well, odds are it will if you're the guy out front.
Ian: If i'm the guy out front?
Rafe: Yeah, well, you're perfect. It already hates you.
Ian: Can't argue that.
Rafe: Plus, you're a doctor, a father, a respected member of the community. All you have to do is stand up and tell the truth.
Ian: That's it?
Rafe: Yeah, well, just tell the people what you saw, tell them how you felt, let them know in your own voice and let them see on your face how this avatar shook you to the core. You'll convince everyone.
Ian: Stand up and tell the truth, huh?
Rafe: And then just be ready when it comes to take the bait.
Ian: I think I can handle that.
Rafe: All right, well, let's go.
Livvie: Rafe, wait. Wait! You're not going through with this, are you?
Rafe: Why not?
Livvie: Because I don't think setting yourself up as targets is the best thing for you to do.
Rafe: Livvie, I can handle this. The longer we wait, the stronger it gets.
Livvie: No, but, rafe --
rafe: Just wish us luck, all right?
Livvie: Rafe --
ricky: Hey, uh --
Ricky: I know. Melinda.
Marissa: It's marissa, actually.
Ricky: What? Oh, sorry. Right.
Marissa: Yes, i usually am. It's my name.
Ricky: So i -- I read your article in the paper. Not bad.
Marissa: And what's your whole take on lancelot?
Ricky: You know, I couldn't care less, really.
Marissa: Oh, really? And you seem to be the one in all of port charles without an opinion.
Ricky: I got other things to do.
Marissa: Yeah, like?
Ricky: Keeping the rhythm. I'm in a band.
[Ricky drums on countertop]
Marissa: That's right, jamal told me that.
Ricky: You asked?
Marissa: That's what I do. Reporter? Right?
Ricky: Sounds like you've been putting in a lot of time with jamal.
Marissa: All right, you know, that's it. Can we just get this over with, ok? Look, I know you went out with casey, all right? Ok, you see me, you see her, it's weird -- got it. Now, it's weird for me to get stared at all the time. So just like i told jamal, I do not want to talk about my sister, ok, so if you could just please, ricky, respect that --
ricky: Whoa, whoa, wait, wait, slow down. Your sister? Casey was your twin?
Marissa: Yeah. What, you didn't know? Nobody told you?
Alison: Jack --
jack: Shh. It's ok, all right?
Alison: No, I need a -- I need a tissue.
Jack: Oh. Oh, um --
alison: I'm sorry.
Jack: Uh -- ah. Here.
Alison: Thank you. Excuse me.
Alison: No, I'm just so tired of, like, feeling like this, you know what I mean? I'm just so sick of thinking this way. I mean, I keep on thinking that there's no chance with him, but for whatever reason, I look for the signs in it, you know what I mean? You know, it's like the same thing with the trial. I had the same sort of thinking process -- "oh, rafe, he's got to be coming back because all the signs were there," and i was right then, wasn't i? I was right then.
Jack: But livvie got to him first.
Alison: So are you saying that it was wrong to even look for the sign?
Jack: No, no, that's not what i'm saying. I'm saying you just have to know what they say, there's more than just seeing it. You have to see what the sign says.
Alison: Ok, well, what about -- what about the big, fat, red one, the red sign i see all the time in big, white letters -- the one that says, "s-t-o-p, alison, s-t-o-p"? "Brake, don't go that way, take a left." But no. No, no, no. I go straight for for it. Instead, i don't take a left, I go straight, and i think, "you know, alison, maybe you should just drive yourself crazy and make everyone else around you miserable." I mean, is -- is that wrong? I mean, are you saying that that's not what the sign is saying? Am i reading you wrong?
Jack: Look, alison, there -- there are all kinds of signs, ok? "Danger ahead," "detour," uh --
alison: "Do not merge."
Jack: "Don't pass."
Alison: "Don't even think about passing."
Jack: "Rough, rough road."
Alison: "Slow down."
Jack: "Livvie's a froot loop."
Rafe: Ok, all set. You ready for the big time?Ght, the light's pe dr. Thornhart?
Ian: Yeah, that's me.
Cameraman: You've got something to say about our local hero, we hear?
Ian: Yeah, something that people aren't aware of.
Patrick: Yeah, well, we need all the fresh meat we can get on this story. It's losing its legs.
Rafe: You just crank up that camera and hold on tight, you'll get yourself a story.
Cameraman: All right. We go live in five, four, three, two --
patrick: And today on our popular feature "port charles speaks out," we're live in the port charles park with a highly respected doctor from general hospital, whose words and opinions may not reflect those of the station or its management. Doctor?
Ian: Hi. I'm ian thornhart. I'm a doctor at general hospital. Patients come into the E.R. Hoping for a quick and easy fix. Unfortunately, saving lives takes a lot of time, takes a lot of effort. And sometimes the best we can do is pray for a miracle, hope for someone to watch over us. And maybe that's why people are applauding this man, this lancelot, protector of women, protector of children. Well, there's more to the story. I've seen his true face. And behind his cloak is not the shining armor of a noble knight but a black and angry heart that slithers away into the darkness, avoiding neighbors, avoiding questions, and that is the mark of a coward. You wanted attention. Well, you got it. And now people can see you for what you really are. You're a fraud who wants to intimidate anyone that gets in your way. Well, right now I'm in your way. So if you're not afraid of the dark, why don't you come down here and discuss it with me, ok?
livvie: Don't let them get to you. They're only trying to trick you.
Marissa: Ok, see, you're staring again.
Ricky: Sorry. Maybe it should've been more obvious to me, but --
marissa: You heard me say that i had a twin sister who died at birth. Yeah, I thought so, too. It turned out I was wrong.
Ricky: Wait, wait, wait, where you going?
Marissa: Is there something else?
Ricky: You tell me or ask me.
Marissa: Oh, right. Well, you mean about her. Well, no offense there, ricky, but i know all I need to know about casey's life.
Ricky: Oh, yeah?
Ricky: What about casey's death?
Marissa: I think you just --
ricky: Well, you know what, think again. Maybe I need to talk about it because you don't want to, marika, clarissa, melinda -- whoever the hell you are. You've really missed out on not knowing casey. And so what if you get spooked over people staring at you. Live with it. You're alive, baby. And I stare at you -- I stare at you because i loved someone who doesn't deserved to be ignored by some self-centered chick who thinks she's got the world by the tail. But from where i'm sitting, you can't even stand in casey's shadow.
Marissa: Look, you want me to feel bad that i didn't know my sister, huh, my twin? Well, guess what, bongo boy, I do, all right? Ok, you want me to feel guilty about my "90210" life while she was living around, scraping on the street? I'd have given my life to have known her. Ok, ricky? Is that what you want to hear? Because it's the truth. Ok, I would've done anything, given anything -- everything -- if i could've just talked to her once. Just once, ricky.
Ricky: Hey --
marissa: Maybe I could've saved her. Maybe I could've saved her.
Alison: I can see it on the highway in red, orange, and yellow flashing lights -- "livvie's a froot loop."
Jack: Those lights won't be half as bright as that smile. It's good to see it again. Haven't seen it in a while.
Alison: Well, I haven't felt superduper happy enough to flash it.
Jack: Well, don't worry, alison, I'm sure it's going to pass.
Alison: You know, I don't know how you do it.
Alison: One minute i'm feeling like my pet goldfish has bellied-up, and then the next minute you're making me laugh.
Jack: Yeah. Well, you're just pretty weak. You're not tough.
Alison: I'm weak?
Jack: Yeah, and you have a cheesy sense of humor. It's bad.
Alison: Cheesy? I do not.
Jack: You got to work on it. Yeah, you do.
Alison: My sense of humor is not --
Alison: I'll take you down.
Jack: Come on then.
Alison: I'm not kidding.
Jack: Oh, come on.
Alison: I will take you down. I will.
Jack: Ah, no!
Alison: I will! I'm not kidding!
Jack: Enough, enough, enough.
Jack: Don't you see the sign, alison?
Alison: What? What do you mean? What sign?
Jack: Right here. My eyes. They're sending you a message.
Alison: A message?
Jack: For both of us. "Caution." "Proceed with caution."
Jack: Ali, i -- I -- wow.
Ian: Well, you're the professional slayer. How did I do?
Rafe: Hmm, we'll see. No, you were good. I believed you. You rattled the cage, made it sound like a dangerous coward.
Ian: Yeah, huh? Well, it came from the heart. You know, I don't things that hide in the night.
Rafe: No matter how you look at it, for an amateur, you're pretty good at this.
Ian: For a what? An amateur?
Rafe: Mm-hmm, yeah.
Ian: I've dealt with these strange visitors in port charles before, as have you.
Rafe: Oh, so they tell me.
Ian: I'm sorry, i know it's got to be tough not to know your past completely.
Rafe: Yeah, whatever. I'm living with it.
Ian: This may not be the right time to talk about this, but you know what, maybe I can help you, run some tests --
rafe: Oh, no, thank you. See, i've tried so hard to get it all back that i've -- I've just driven myself crazy. You know, I've hurt a lot of people that i love, and finally I just had to let it go. This, though, is helping, believe it or not.
Ian: What, stalking an avatar?
Rafe: It's the only familiar territory I've found here in port charles.
Ian: That's funny. Now what do we do? If we get our wish, if this thing starts charging at us full speed, what do we do?
Rafe: Well, we try and trap it. And if we're lucky and we do, then we reason with it, talk to it, do whatever we can to break through to the host because the host is the only one who can fight it, who can force the avatar out of its body.
Ian: All right, all right, but what if we find this host and he doesn't want to cooperate? Then what?
Rafe: Well, then there's only one choice. We kill him.
Avatar: I will kill him.
Avatar: I will kill ian thornhart.
Livvie: No. No, don't! Stop! Stop it! Listen to me and think. It's deliberate. They're only trying to get you to rush out and run right into their trap. I heard my husband talking, and he's working alongside with him -- rafe.
Avatar: The slayer.
Livvie: Yes, they want to find out who you are, but you cannot let them win. Please, please don't fall for their tricks.
Avatar: They offend me.
Livvie: I know, I know that you're angry, but you just have to concentrate. Look into my eyes and you will know that I am telling the truth. I'm on your side. I'll work with you. Please, you've just got to trust me. I swear -- i swear i will never, ever do anything to betray you. I'd only be ruining my own life and my marriage if i did. Please --
livvie: Please. Please, you have to -- you have to trust me. You know you can. We need to trust each other.
Avatar: "Trust"? A strange word coming from you.
Livvie: You have to.
Livvie: We both know each other too much.
>> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "port charles: Torn."
>> On the next "port charles" --
livvie: Is this frank scanlon i'm talking to or the avatar?
Avatar: The frank you knew is gone forever.
Jack: Look, are you sure we should --
alison: I'm not sure of anything.
