Alison: Hey --
Jamal: Well, happy belated birthday.
Alison: Don't say "birthday."
Jamal: What? Looks like somebody did a little too much celebrating, hmm?
Alison: Not so much celebrating, but more like anesthetizing.
Jamal: Look, I heard about what happened between you and Rafe, and I'm sorry. I know it kind of had to be hard for you to go through all that.
Alison: Yeah. Well, I've sort of accepted it. Livvie is having Rafe's baby, and, well, hell, sometimes that's just the way life goes.
Jamal: Ali, look, you don't have to front for me, ok? I mean, it's ok to feel bad. Just do me a favor -- try to remember you got a lot of friends here that care about you, ok? Don't go shutting everybody out like you did last time.
Alison: Yeah, I'll try not to do that. I think that I can use all the friends I can get right now.
Jamal: Well, you're looking at one of your best.
Alison: Thank you. So, are you here alone? Because I was just --
Jamal: Oh, well --
Alison: Coming in to grab --
Marissa: Jamal. There you are. I've been looking all over for you.
Rafe's Voice: An avatar cannot exist independent.
Ian's Voice: But it could be anybody?
Rafe's Voice: It has to find a human body to inhabit.
Ian's Voice: Its need for power overwhelms its need to do justice.
Rafe's Voice: Its human qualities are overtaken by the avatar's desire for control. It can reproduce.
Ian's Voice: In human form?
Rafe's Voice: I have no idea.
Livvie: Damn it.
Livvie: Ok, Livvie. Get a grip. There's nothing here, ok? There's nothing here. Oh! God, it's happening. It's moving again. You're only a few days old. What is happening to me? What is going on?
Rafe: Livvie? You ok?

Jamal: You -- you've met Marissa, right?
Marissa: In the woods.
Alison: Yeah, it's good to see you again.
Marissa: Yeah, you, too.
Alison: Oh, there's -- there's Kate. That's who I came to see. Can you excuse me for a second?
Jamal: So, you take care of yourself, ok? And I meant what I said.
Alison: Thank you. I'll see you.
Jamal: See you.
Alison: Kate. Kate, hi.
Kate: Oh, hey.
Alison: I'm so glad to see you. It's good to see you. Can you please just smile and pretend like you're here to see me?
Alison: Do you want to sit down already?
Kate: Oh. Oh, I think I'm beginning to see the problem.
Alison: Yeah. That's the second time that I've seen her with him. I think -- I think there's something going on.
Kate: And it bothers you?
Alison: No, it doesn't -- it doesn't really bother me. I'm glad that he's getting on with his life. It just sort of --
Kate: It's weird.
Alison: Yeah, it is sort of weird. Sort of caught me by surprise, that's all. I don't know.
Kate: What's wrong?
Alison: You know -- oh, I've got the tail end of the worst hangover in the whole world.
Kate: I'm sorry, you?
Alison: Yeah. It's kind of my first time.
Kate: Hopefully your last.
Alison: Jack got me drunk for my 21st birthday.
Kate: Nice. The gift that keeps on giving.
Alison: I know.
Kate: Well, happy birthday. I'm sorry I missed it.
Alison: Well, don't be. It was sort of pathetic, really, but Jack and I -- we lived it up.
Kate: Oh, so, then it was worth it?
Alison: I don't feel so good, so I don't know if I'd go that far, but enough about me. What's going on? I haven't seen you in a long time. How was your trip?
Kate: Oh, it was fine. It was fine. But now I have the task of having to find an apartment. You don't happen to know of anything, do you?
Alison: Well, why don't you stay with me?
Marissa: So, I take it Alison is the ex. Cute.
Jamal: Yeah. Yeah, she's the ex.
Marissa: So, who --
Jamal: I was, ok? I was the dumper then the dumpee. I had the worst of both worlds. Happy? That is what you were going to ask, right?
Jamal: Yeah, well, there you go.
Marissa: Well, you don't have to get so defensive about it.
Jamal: I'm not being defensive about anything.
Marissa: Ok. Well, why don't we talk about something else?
Jamal: Yeah. Good idea.
Marissa: Oh, you know, I was looking for you because I just saw my mom off and I wanted to tell you that you were absolutely right. Telling her about Casey would have been such a huge mistake. She would have been devastated. She really liked you.
Jamal: Your mom? Right.
Marissa: Don't be so surprised. She said you were a keeper.
Jamal: Oh, well, that's a first, I'll tell you that.
Marissa: I really wanted to tell you something, though.
Jamal: Yeah? What's that?
Marissa: This whole Casey thing is just -- it's just such a big shock, you know? Finding out that I had an identical twin sister who died? It felt like -- you know, I was just pretty freaked out. And if it wasn't for you, Jamal -- I just think that you were really great the way you kind of helped me deal with all of this, so -- so thank you.
Jamal: Not a problem. I was just, you know, being a friend.
Marissa: Still got the jones for her, huh?
Marissa: Yeah, Alison, the one you keep staring at like I'm not even here. Although if I really wanted to think about it, it's kind of rude, especially since I think we're, you know --
Jamal: Look, Marissa -- I'm glad that I could help out the situation with you and your mom and everything, and when my man Ricky gets back, he can tell you as much as you want to know about Casey, ok? I really wish you luck about tracking down your story, but I got to be straight with you. I am not looking for any kind of relationship.
Rafe: Livvie, now, answer me. What's going on?
Rafe: What's wrong?
Livvie: Nothing, nothing. I just dropped a glass, that's all.
Livvie: Nothing. No. No, no, you know what? I just remembered -- we got to get ready. We got to go to my dad's and Lucy's for dinner tonight.
Rafe: Livvie, it's pretty obvious you're upset. Just talk to me, ok? Can you talk to me?
Livvie: Ok. Look, Rafe, I know this is not possible, but I swear I felt the baby moving again.
Rafe: Oh, Livvie --
Livvie: I know, I know, I know. It's only a few weeks old and there's no way, but I am telling you I felt it.
Rafe: You heard what Ian said. It is way too early. You feel your body -- it's just adjusting, it's changing. Maybe -- maybe you're nervous. Come here. Sit down. Come here a second. You know, you're nervous because -- I know you're scared. You've been scared that I'm just going to leave and you're going to have to raise this baby all on your own, but that's not going to happen. It's not. I'm not going anywhere. And as far as what you heard me and Ian talking about -- the avatar -- we were just talking, ok? That was just stories that we were trading about us being kids. It's not real. You know what's real? This. This life growing inside of you. That's what's real. That's our child growing in there, and our child is going to change our entire lives. We're going to have a happy family together.
Livvie: No, no, Rafe, stop!
Marissa: A relationship. Oh, my God, you so need to get over yourself. I do not remember asking for one, so --
Jamal: Ok, look, I'm sorry, ok? I didn't mean it like that, ok? I just thought that --
Marissa: Is it just because that you thought, you know, because my mom said you were a keeper that --
Jamal: No, no, no. Look, I just -- there was this vibe, ok, that you were giving off --
Jamal: And I just don't want there to be any misunderstandings, that's all.
Marissa: Ok, you know what?
Marissa: Just so we get it clear -- I am here for my story, that's it, not to get involved with anyone. And, yes, I want to know more about Casey, so I might stay here a little longer than I thought. But you know what? I'll tell you what -- I will stay out of your way, you know, so you don't think I'm stalking you or anything, ok?
Jamal: Can I say something now, please?
Marissa: Yeah. Thanks, because I thought you'd never ask.
Woman: I'm not kidding. I just saw this guy in the park with a black hood -- exactly like the shadowy avenger.
Marissa: That is my cue, so I'm off to work. Oh, and, Jamal, I will pay for that slice of pizza, so, you know, just so you don't think that this was a date or anything.
Jamal: Look, Marissa, I --
Marissa: Got to go. Bye!
Alison: So, what do you think?
Kate: Oh, Alison, I don't know. I haven't had a roommate since college, and I was told by more than a few of them that I was -- oh, what was the word that they used? "Impossible." So I've always lived alone -- or at least until Brennan.
Alison: It's not like it would be a permanent situation. I mean, it's not really for me, either.
Kate: Then why are you offering?
Alison: Because. I just -- I don't want to be alone. And maybe if there's somebody else there to talk to, then I wouldn't spend so much time alone thinking about --
Alison: Yeah. You know, I haven't seen you in a while, so I haven't -- I haven't really told you this, but Livvie is pregnant, and they are going to build a life together.
Alison: Yeah, we decided that it was probably the best thing for right now.
Kate: Oh, Alison, I am so sorry.
Kate: Are you ok?
Alison: Mm-hmm. But I'm just having a hard time wrapping my brain around the whole thing, you know? The man that I love and my one-time best friend are now together, so it's sort of weird. I don't know how all that happened.
Kate: Don't try to figure it out. It's the whys that will kill you. This is my advice, and I know that this is going to be hard, but you've got to let go because if you keep trying to hang on to the past, pretty soon you won't know how to stop.
Alison: I think that's me. Yeah, it's me. Hello? Yeah. Right now? Yeah, I can do that. Ok, bye. That was really strange.
Alison: I'm sorry. I need to -- I need to go pick something up.
Kate: Ok. More pizza for me.
Alison: So what do you say?
Kate: About the moving in thing?
Alison: Yeah. Lucy's house is really, really nice, and I'm sure that she won't mind. I'll ask her, of course, and I'm a really awesome cook.
Kate: I'm not a morning person, and I'm a total neat freak.
Alison: That's ok by me.
Kate: Ok. I guess you've got yourself a roommate.
Alison: You'll do it? Good. Good, good, good, good, good. Ok, so call me when you're ready to move, and I'll help you with all of your stuff.
Kate: Ok. Thanks, Alison. You know, this is really very sweet of you.
Alison: It'll be fun. It'll be girl time. We'll help each other out. Ok. Bye, roomie.
Kate: Bye. Stop trying to hang on to the past, or pretty soon you won't know how to stop.
Marissa: o/~ Come out come out, wherever you are o/~
Marissa: Oh! Gosh. You again. You know, for somebody who doesn't want a relationship, you sure spend a lot of time chasing after me.
Jamal: No, no, that's just to keep you from getting yourself offed by some crazed lunatic, that's all.
Marissa: You mean, superhero.
Jamal: A super-- please, come on, that's just a bunch of junk.
Marissa: No, it's not.
Jamal: Ok, look, even if it wasn't, you ain't going to find him here in some park.
Marissa: Really? And how do you know that?
Jamal: Come on. Where have you been? Ok, everybody knows superheroes don't hang out in parks. They just don't.
Jamal: No. You see, Marissa, they're more into, like, the lair type of thing -- you know, someplace cool and out of the way where they can just kick it with the homeys and drink a couple of brews. You know what I'm saying? Just wait for the bat phone to ring, just chill. Right?
Marissa: You are crazy. You know that? You're --
Jamal: So I've been told. Look -- I don't want you to think that -- well, what I mean is that I'm not a complete jerk all the time. Sometimes, but, hey.
Rafe: Ok. I don't know what's going on, but you need to calm down, ok? Now, here's what we're going to do. We're going to call your father and Lucy, and we'll just cancel tonight. We'll stay here, we'll talk, just the two of us. We'll do whatever you want.
Livvie: Rafe, I don't know what I want. I feel like I'm losing it.
Rafe: Why? Because of this stupid avatar thing? I told you, it's not real. It's an urban myth. You've heard of those, right?
Livvie: No, no, what I heard was you talking to Ian and not about any urban myth.
Rafe: Livvie --
Livvie: Rafe, you were trained as a vampire slayer. You know about these things. You wouldn't be talking about it if it weren't true.
Rafe: I just don't understand why you're so convinced that --
Livvie: Because I know. I know in my heart that this creature, this whatever it is, is here in Port Charles, and I need you to tell me the truth. What does it want? Rafe, tell me. Come on.
Rafe: It wants to -- to control, to dominate. That's what it needs.
Livvie: Can -- can it create?
Livvie: Look, I need to know if there is any way that this thing can reproduce, if there are more than one of these beings.
Livvie's Voice: And what happens when its host mates with a human? What would the baby be like? Would it be some kind of a demon? A monster?
Rafe: Livvie. Livvie --
Livvie: Huh? Huh?
Rafe: Ok, I -- I said that I am definitely going to call your father and Lucy, and we're not going.
Livvie: No. No, no, no, no. Rafe, I want to go. Please. Please, I want to go.
Rafe: I really think you should rest.
Livvie: No, honey, I'm ok. I'm ok.
Rafe: Ok? You're practically having a meltdown.
Livvie: Sweetie, I'm sorry. I overreacted, I know. But I really, really, really want to go there tonight.
Rafe: You sure you feel up to it?
Livvie: Yeah, of course. I'm positive. And besides, it's our first dinner with family as husband and wife and parents-to-be, and I've kind of been looking forward to it. And I'm thinking, like, in a way, I really need to, like, go out and do something normal and have a normal evening.
Rafe: Let's go.
Livvie: Hon, could you do me a favor and go on without me? Because I've got a little errand I need to run.
Rafe: Livvie, I just think that --
Livvie: Rafe, please. If you want me to calm down and get things back to normal, I got to do some normal things. I'm going to run my errand, and you go on ahead without me, ok?
Livvie: I'll just be a few minutes.
Rafe: You're sure?
Livvie: I'm sure. I won't be long. Thank you.
Livvie: You bastard. You tricked me. You made me think you were human, and you're not. And now -- now you're going to tell me what this is.
Kate: Ian? Hi. It's Kate Reynolds. Yeah, I was just wondering, is that invitation to dinner still open? Oh. Well, if you can't get a babysitter, maybe I could just bring a pizza over. Great. Ok. I'll be over in a few. Ok.
Andy: So, exactly what did you guys see here?
Jamal: We didn't see anything. It's just we found him just like that, all messed up.
Marissa: Yeah, you know, but I did overhear someone at the pizza place. They said that they thought they'd seen the shadowy avenger here in the park.
Andy: I figured as much.
Jamal: Yeah, so, any idea who the latest victim is?
Andy: Yeah, he's a pimp with a reputation for beating up the women that work for him.
Jamal: Well, another bad guy gets his due, right? Just like the rest.
Andy: This is the worst one yet. If you two hadn't shown up when you did, I don't think he would have made it.
Jamal: Well, Marissa, what do you think of your superhero now?
Marissa: I'm thinking that he's not what I thought he was.
Livvie: What have you done to me? And what kind of a monster am I carrying?
>> On the next "Port Charles" --
Lucy: Rafe, what are you doing here? You know, you're a little bit early.
Rafe: Really? Because I think I'm here exactly at the time you wanted me to get here.
Livvie: What did you do to me?
Shadow: What you asked for.
