Port Charles Transcript Monday 7/15/02

Provided by Suzanne

Jamal: Casey, what is up? What brings you back here?

Girl: Sorry, you must have me confused with someone else.

Jamal: Oh, ok. I'll play. Who are you pretending to be this time?

Marissa: My name is marissa leong, and i'm here because --

jamal: You're running from the cops, right? Girl, you are -- oh, my gosh.

Marissa: Are you always this rude?

Jamal: And you know what? Thumbs up on this new look. I am digging this new look, baby. Dang, what's up? You know, I never really was a big nose ring fan, so I'm glad you, like, kind of took that thing out.

Marissa: Ok. You know what? Here. Check my i.D. If you don't believe who I am.

Jamal: Wow. Fake i.D. This must have cost you a pretty penny, girl. No, seriously, what are you doing back here, for real?

Marissa: Hello. Ok, I am not your friend casey, whoever she is. I am a reporter -- actually, I am going to be one -- and i came to port charles because of you.

Jamal: Oh. Me?

Marissa: I saw you on television, and you were talking about this strange vigilante who suddenly showed up and who you seem to think is just some ordinary guy looking for attention.

Jamal: What, you don't?

Marissa: If what I've heard about this town is true, it could be anyone or anything.

Livvie: Who are you? Stay away from me! Keep away! Keep away! I swear I'll kill you. God, no. No. Who are you? What do you want? Stay away from me! Please don't touch me. Don't touch me. No!

Rafe: No, I can'T.

Alison: How does that feel?

Rafe: I have a wife and a child on the way.

Alison: You didn't answer my question. I asked you how it felt to kiss me.

Rafe: What do you want me to say? You know, obviously I did it. Obviously I feel drawn to you for some reason. I don't exactly know why, but that doesn't change anything.

Alison: Oh, yes, it does. It changes everything.

Rafe: I got to get out of here.

Alison: The memories of us -- did they come back to you? Did they?

Rafe: Don't you get it? There can't be an us, ok?

Alison: You can't run from this. I tried once. You can'T. Now look at me. Really look at me. Look at me and tell me when i kissed you, you felt nothing, absolutely nothing. If you can honestly tell me that, I will promise you i will never bother you ever again.

jamal: So you're sure you're not casey?

Marissa: No, I am not.

Jamal: Ok, so you are a reporter, right? Is that what you're saying?

Marissa: That's right.

Jamal: Ok, so, what do you think you're walking into here?

Marissa: Well, we can start with the vampires.

Jamal: Oh, yeah, vampires. They all flew south for the summer. Sorry.

Marissa: You never heard of any?

Jamal: Only in the movies.

Marissa: Ok. Well, then let's move on to witchcraft -- alison barrington's trial.

Jamal: You know what? I've got a better idea. Why don't we talk about something else.

Marissa: What, does it make you feel uncomfortable?

Jamal: No, no, alison -- she's a good friend of mine. It's just she went through hell. I don't want to talk about it.

Marissa: Literally or figuratively?

Jamal: Now I know you're not casey because she wouldn't be throwing around $10 words like that like it ain't nothing.

Marissa: Thank you.

Jamal: Yeah, so whatever reason brought you to this town, it ain't going to get you a job -- what's your name?

Marissa: Marissa.

Jamal: Marissa. Right.

Marissa: Yes.

Jamal: This town is just like any other town, ok?

Marissa: Yeah, well, I believe this ordinary town is a vortex for supernatural phenomenon, and usually, since places like these don't advertise in the yellow pages, you have to do --

jamal: Right.

Marissa: A little digging to get to the truth. So if you really have no idea what i'm talking about, then you are either lying, naive, or completely out of the loop.

Jamal: Ok, ok, look -- port charles does have its share of urban legends, just like any other place, ok?

Marissa: I vote for number one.

Jamal: Excuse me?

Marissa: I think you're lying.

Jamal: Ok, look, this is getting real old. You came here looking and asking about this shadow guy who's been busting everybody up, and I told you what i think, ok? And you know what? You can believe any damn thing you want, little lady.

Marissa: So you're not interested.

Jamal: Bingo.

Marissa: Well, it's too bad because you want to know what i think we're dealing with? A real-life, honest-to-god superhero.

Rafe: Fine. You want the truth? I'll tell you. Yeah, I felt something.

Alison: Thank you.

Rafe: I wouldn't be human if i didn'T. I mean, we were involved once. There was obviously some sort of connection. You're a beautiful girl.

Alison: Rafe --

rafe: Wh do you want me to say? That i remember loving you? Because I don'T. I remember your face. I remember wanting to hold you, that's all.

Alison: That's a start.

Rafe: No. No, it's not. It can't be.

Alison: Please try and remember.

Rafe: You know what i remember? I remember standing in front of god in a barn.

Alison: Yeah, with me.

Rafe: No, with livvie. And I said vows that i would protect her and take care of her for the rest of our lives. I'm doing a lousy job of that.

Alison: Because I'm distracting you, maybe?

Rafe: Big time.

Alison: Good.

Rafe: I can't do this to my wife.

Alison: She's a wife that tricked you into marrying her.

Rafe: She was the only one that was there for me when i couldn't remember anything.

Alison: And now she is just so conveniently pregnant with your baby when she sees that maybe you might be moving away from her and coming towards me. Come on!

Rafe: I saw the test.

Alison: Tests can be faked.

Rafe: You don't know that for sure.

Alison: No, I don'T. You're right. But I do know livvie. For god's sake, she was my best friend. Just answer me this. Answer me one question. If there was no baby, can you honestly tell me that you would want to be with livvie more than you would want to be with me?

James: Oh, you blithering idiot, can't you see? She's getting to you with her soft, bambi eyes and her trick questions. If i was down there, i'd shake some sense into you, boy.

Ed: That would be breaking our agreement -- no interference from you or me.

James: To what do i owe this visit? Let me guess -- you've come to gloat.

Ed: Doesn't it warm the cockles of your heart to see two young people fighting their way back to each other? I forgot, james -- you have no heart.

James: May I ask -- is that what passes for humor in your white, cloudy universe?

Ed: Do i detect a note of anxiety? James, i thought you were a better poker player than that. Of course, if you have a bad hand, you really should fold, shouldn't you?

James: I haven't lost this wager yet.

Ed: Oh, when you do -- and you will -- rafe will keep his soul, I will keep mine, and you will get a one-way ticket back to hell.

James: Trust me, I won't be going back empty-handed.

Ed: James, my dear enemy, my son will beat you.

James: Aren't we getting ahead of ourselves? Remember, pride goeth before a fall.

Ed: Oh, you're quoting scriptures, are you? You must be nervous.

James: They've got all the best lines.

Ed: My son was stripped of his memory, sent back to earth, and through it all, he's finding his way back to the woman he loves.

James: Well, finding is not found.

Ed: All a matter of time, james. All a matter of time. I love happy endings.

Rafe: It's all these "what ifs." It's not going to do any good, alison.

Alison: What are you so afraid of?

Rafe: Nothing.

Alison: I think that you're afraid to remember. I think that you're afraid because you're going to realize what you're living right now -- it's all one big lie. Not me, not us. I think that you're afraid to remember how much you really loved me. So much that you didn't even know where i ended and you began. You can deny it all you want, but you love me. You love me and you want me, and you can feel it so much that it hurts. Just admit it. Just admit it.

Jamal: A superhero? Right.

Marissa: Yeah, that's my theory, and i'm glad you find it so amusing.

Jamal: No, no, that's fine. These are the rest of your buddies, right? I mean, batman, superman, and all these other people? Wonder woman --

marissa: Oh, laugh, laugh. Ye lgh hard. Ha-ha-ha.

Jamal: Maybe he came down in, like, a meteor shower. No, wait, hold on. That must have been meteor man, so i must be getting confused --

marissa: Yeah, and you must be obnoxious man.

Jamal: No, wait, wait. Come on. Hey, hey, hey. Look, I'm just yanking your chain. Just calm down, all right?

Marissa: Really? Because I think you are enjoying it.

Jamal: No, but honestly, there's -- there's no story here, ok? It's just some guy who likes to dress up and play bad ass. That's it.

Marissa: And who's left two tough punks swinging from trees. That is no ordinary man.

Jamal: And you are no ordinary girl. But seriously, i got to get back to planet earth, ok, casey? Or marissa or lois lane or whoever you are, ok? But you are going to be around for a little while, right?

Marissa: What's it to you?

Jamal: Who, me? Nothing. It's not nothing to me. It's just you look so much like this girl we know, i'm telling you --

marissa: Oh, don't tell me, casey, right?

Jamal: And there's this guy i know who is going to freak when he sees you, so don't go anywhere, ok?

Rafe: Is this what you wanted?

Alison: Yes. No. No. I want you to remember me the way I remember you. I know every single inch of your face. I know every little teeny little thing about you -- the way you're always trying to be so serious but yet you just -- your lips quiver because you just can't help but crack a smile. I know your heart, and i know that you strived your whole life to do the right thing, and that is why this is so hard for you. But you don't -- you don't remember.

Rafe: Yeah, and what if i did? You know? What if I did get my memory back? It wouldn't change the fact that i'm married to livvie and we're having a baby together. I mean, that's the only fact that matters right now, you know, whether I like it or not!

Alison: Well. Rafe, it looks like you're free to go.

Rafe: Yeah. Free.

Alison: I won't give up on us. I know it's still there. I know it. You didn't come back here for livvie, and you didn't come back here to be tortured by a past you just can't remember. You came back here for me. And someday you're going to know that.

Rafe: I --

alison: Someday you're going to know.

James: Finally he escapes.

Ed: James, james, do i detect a note of agitation in your voice?

James: No, no, no, not at all. I'm merely looking forward to my happy ending. That's strange.

Ed: What happened to the screen? Is this an illegal hookup?

James: Of course it isn't.

Ed: Well, where is livvie? The screen's gone dark. What happened?

James: Something very powerful has blocked her from our view.

Ed: Something powerful or something you conjured up because you're losing the game? And we all know what a lousy loser you are.

James: Yet again, edward, you accuse me of cheating?

Ed: Then where is she? Where is livvie? Where, james?

Marissa: What guy?

Jamal: His name is ricky garza, and he used to hang out with this chick casey.

Marissa: Oh, not this again. You know, I don't even know the woman, and i hate her already.

Jamal: Look, trust me, if you're going to be hanging out in town, i've got to give him a heads-up, ok?

Marissa: I just want --

jamal: Wait, wait, wait. Ricky, what's up? It's jamal. Look, there's this girl that came into town named marissa, and she looks just like -- you know what? When you get this message, just give me a buzz, ok? Trust me, just give me a buzz. So, where did you say you were going to be staying? Crazy girl. Now, that is a crazy girl.

Alison's voice: You're just like this nice vampire slayer from transatlantic transylvania.

Rafe: I'm just a boring workaholic kind of guy.

Alison: What are you holding back, rafe? Are you, like, from heaven? Oh, my god, you are. I can see it in your eyes. I know who you are now. You're an angel. How am i supposed to take you seriously when you have syrup all over your face.

Rafe: Yeah, you've got some, too.

Alison: Well -- loving you -- it's changed my life and it's changed me, and that's something to celebrate. Let's make a promise, a vow, our hearts will always be joined for all eternity. Will you marry me?

Rafe: Alison barrington, I promise that i will carry our love with me forever and that we will be joined together as one for now and into eternity.

Alison: You may kiss your bride.

Rafe: People spend forever searching on a journey to nowhere. You know what? I guess that could have been me except i found you, and now i know that my journey began and is going to end with you.

Alison: I'll never give up on us. Never.

James: I swear, i'm as baffled by livvie's disappearance as you are.

Ed: You're up to something, and I know it.

James: What? Come on. What? Show me. Prove it.

Ed: I will. We have an agreement. Don't break it. I didn't break mine. I kept my part of the bargain.

James: And I assure you I have kept mine. I've done absolutely nothing, absolutely nothing to break our contract.

Ed: Then what is this powerful force? Because it's something that I've never heard of before.

James: There are more things in heaven than are dreamt of in your philosophy. Look, there are more things in this world that are unknowable, even by you and me. And believe me, livvie's whereabouts are of vital interest to me -- I mean, more so to me than to you. With livvie out of the picture, you win. Hmm? Have i made my point?

Ed: Why don't I trust you?

James: Logic, edward. Logic dictates. I'm as in the dark as you are.

Ed: Then where is livvie? And what powerful force could possibly block her or shield her even from the likes of you?

Rafe: Livvie? Livvie? Where the hell did she go? She couldn't have gone far. Livvie?

Woman: Mr. Kovich.

Rafe: Hi. You've seen my wife?

Woman: That's why i'm here. I've been waiting for you to come back.

Rafe: What happened? Where did she go?

Woman: That's just it -- I don't know. She rushed out past me earlier, and I tried to call her name, but she didn't answer. She was half-dressed, and she seemed upset.

Rafe: Oh.

Woman: I just thought that you should know.

Rafe: Thanks. Ok, livvie, where did you go?

ricky: Every time that our relationship starts to go somewhere, you run away. Is this really about us going away to manhattan, or are you just looking to blow this thing up?

Jack: Even if she is pregnant, which I doubt she is, how do you know it's even yours?

Who do you think is the new "Shadow" that is beating up the bad guys on Port Charles?
