karen: I am so excited. I can't believe I finally get to see you play.
Ricky: Hmm, i can't believe you finally got a night off, huh? So how soon can you be ready?
Karen: Well, all I have to do is stop off at my place, drop this bag, and get changed.
Ricky: Perfect. I can make sound check.
Karen: You know, you don't have to walk me all the way home. You could just go ahead and I'll meet you there.
Ricky: Uh-uh. No, no, no, no. You crazy? I want to walk into that club tonight with you on my arm. Besides, the band was already starting to think that I'd just made you up.
Karen: Well, I hope that they won't be too disappointed to see the real me, you know.
Ricky: What? Are you kidding me? Not only are you going to be the best-looking woman there tonight, but you are the smartest and the sexiest.
Karen: It's just -- let's face it, ricky, I haven't stepped into a club in years. I don't own leather pants.
Ricky: Wait, you actually think that that matters?
Karen: Well, I just don't want your friends to think that i'm trying to be something i'm not, you know, that I'm just this totally square civilian.
Ricky: Well, first of all --
Ricky: When these people take one good look at you, there is no way in the world that they're going to think that. Hmm? And second of all, if they do, then they're a bunch of idiots who don't deserve to be my friends.
Karen: How do you do that?
Ricky: What? How do i do what?
Karen: You know just the right thing to say to make me feel better.
Ricky: Well, it's not just a line. And, actually, i think you'd look pretty in leather pants. Mm-hmm. Mmm.
Karen: Well, maybe I just need to get myself a pair now that i'm dating a rock star.
Ricky: Uh-huh, rock star?
Karen: Mm-hmm, yeah.
Woman: Oh, my god! It's the shadow man!
Second woman: He's right over there!
Jamal: Let's see who or what this thing is.
Jack: Let's get him.
Alison: I was wondering if you could tell me something. Did one of your drivers happen to pick somebody up today and drop them off over at general hospital earlier? Is there any way that I could maybe talk to that driver? I'm trying to figure out where exactly this person was picked up from and -- well, this person is very important, and the situation is actually very urgent. Have any of your drivers picked someone up and dropped them over off at the hospital at all in the last -- no? Really? Not at all? Hmm. No. I -- i guess that's it. Thank you for your help. Yeah, bye. I need to find you, rafe. And I will. I will, I will, I will. N do this, alison, because sitting around just waiting for you to walk through that door is not an option, and neither is hoping that you somehow miraculously get your memory back. I'm going to find you soon. And I'm so sick of fighting fair. I will get you back. And, livviou better rely hope that you enjoy that time with rafe because it's about to end soon.
Livvie: Pregnancy test?
Rafe: Is something wrong?
Livvie: No. No. Nothing's wrong. I just -- I don't need a pregnancy test, rafe. I already told you.
Rafe: You said you weren't sure.
Livvie: Yeah, I know, but --
rafe: So did you already take a test? What?
Livvie: No. I just -- I just feel it, rafe.
Rafe: Well, you know what? I think we'd both feel a lot better if we were 100% sure, so why don't you just take the test and then we'll know.
Livvie: Because it's a big waste of time, rafe. God, if you want 100% certainty, then a home-pregnancy test is -- they're cheap and -- rafe, they're just not reliable. So why don't i do what i was going to say and i'm going to call the doctor first thing in the morning and make an appointment and i'll go?
Rafe: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Rafe: What's going on? Why are you dodging this? Aren't you as anxious to find out as i am?
Livvie: Yeah. Of course I am, rafe, but a pregnancy test, they're stupid.
Rafe: Is not foolproof. Yeah. I got that. But you know what? They're close, so at least we'd have a clue and tonight, and that would be good.
Livvie: All right. I'll take it.
Rafe: Right now.
Livvie: Yes, right now.
Livvie: Ok? And you'll see i was right.
Rafe: Yep. We'll see.
Livvie: God, what am I going to do?
[Captioning made possible by abc, inc., And soapnet]
livvie: God, i got to find a way to fix this, to make the test come out positive, because if rafe finds out I'm not pregnant --
[knock on door]
rafe: Hey, you ok? Do you need anything? I mean, is there anything I can do?
Livvie: No, rafe. Just give me some time, please. I'm fine, ok?
Rafe: Just let me know, ok, when you know anything.
Livvie: Believe me, you'll be the first to know.
Livvie: My god, it's over. It's over. He's going to find out and he's going to leave me and he's going to go back to alison. My god, everything i've done is gone. It's gone. It's gone.
Ricky: So, now that we have that cleared up --
Ricky: How's mary doing?
Karen: She's actually a little shaken up, but she'll be fine. But those guys that robbed her, they're really a mess.
Ricky: Man. This shadow guy is becoming quite a hero. I mean, evody's dying to know who he is.
Karen: Actually, one of the new nurses was considering some kind of way to get herself in some jeopardy so that she could meet him when he came to her rescue.
Ricky: That's insane.
Karen: Oh, I don't think it's so insane.
Ricky: Come on, karen, you would want to meet this guy?
Karen: Yeah, actually, I think I might.
Jack: Hey, see anything?
Jamal: He was just right here.
Jack: He couldn't be gone. We we right on his tail.
Jamal: Yeah, I know.
Jack: Unless --
jamal: What? What? He flew away or something? Come on.
Jack: Oh, there he is!
Jamal: Get him!
Alison: Well, thank you! Thank you so much for all of your help in apprehending the suspect. Really appreciate it. Yes, and it is a very good idea to be on the good side of the police department. Of course. And anything that we can ever do to help you and your drivers, you just don't hesitate to give us a call. Ok. You got it. Thank you very much.
Oh, I did it! I did it! I knew i could do it. Ooh, i'm so good! I knew that I could do it. Sorry I had to call you "wanted," rafe, but, you know, you do what you got to do. Ok, I'm out of here. I'm so out of here. I'm going to tell you everything. I'm going to tell you everything, not just about us being in love and everything else, but about you and you being an angel and you having to go back up to heaven and leave me, because I think that if you're ever going to really figure out the truth, if you're ever going to hear it, the real truth, it's got to come from me in that way. So i am out of here. This. This. Coming to get you. Ok, sweetheart, I'm coming. I'm not coming home without you.
Rafe: So? What'd the test say?
Livvie: I'm not pregnant.
Livvie: I know. I really thought i was.
Rafe: I'm sorry.
Livvie: Yeah, I know. So am I. But we'll keep trying, rafe. We'll have another baby. I mean, I know it's what we both want, a family, I mean, something that neither of us have ever had before, and we'll try. We'll try again, please.
Rafe: No, no. "I'm sorry" means that -- that i can't stay with you anymore.
Livvie: Oh, but, rafe --
rafe: I mean, come on, we both know that this baby was the only thing keeping us together. And I would have done anything to stay no matter what, but now it's -- try to understand. You know, this saves us both from being in a loveless marriage, and, well, it was a marriage that never should have happened.
Livvie: Rafe, I do love you. I love you. Please, I --
rafe: Livvie, livvie, livvie --
livvie: You're leaving to go back to her, aren't you?
Rafe: Yeah. Yeah. Alison, yeah.
Livvie: But why? Rafe, why? Please.
Rafe: Because she's my destiny, you know, my one true love.
Livvie: Yeah, and I'm your wife. I mean, can't you learn to love me the way you love her? If we just had a baby together, you could love me.
Rafe: See, no, no, no. It's just that we don'T. Ok? I'm sorry.
Livvie: No, rafe. Please don't go!
Rafe! Face it, livvie. Face it. That's exactly what's going to happen. You know. You know that's what's going to happen if he finds out about the test. He's going to go back to her. No. Please. There's got to be something. Please.
Livvie: Mercurochrome. Yes. God, yes, it might work.
Jamal: Come on, nice try, mystery man. You weren't going to get away that easy, huh?
Woman: Oh, my god, that's the shadow. That's him.
Second woman: Oh, my god, we'll both finally get to see who he really is.
Jack: You notice anything strange about this?
Jamal: No. What?
Jack: We caught him.
Jamal: Yeah, so what?
Jack: A guy who hangs people up in trees and breaks bones?
Jamal: Yeah, he didn't put up much of a fight, did he?
Jack: Try none.
Man: Let go. Get your hands off me.
Jack: I don't think he's much of a threat.
Man: I said let me go!
Jamal: Come on, come on, what's the matter, tough guy?
Jack: Easy, easy.
Jamal: Don't you want to come out and meet all your fans, huh?
Woman: Just uncover him already.
Second woman: Yeah, I want to get a look.
Jack: Ok, ok, let's see who this guy is.
Woman: That's the shadow?
Jamal: Mort's an orderly at g.H. Mort, what are you doing?
Mort: Hey, jamal. Lisa, summer.
Jack: Lone ranger, huh?
Jamal: Mort, what is going on? What's up? You're not the one that's actually been going medieval on every bad-ass in town, are you?
Mort: Maybe. Maybe I am.
Jack: Come on, man.
Mort: Or maybe i'm just one of his helpers.
Jack: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What do you mean, "one of his helpers"?
Mort: What, is that so hard to believe?
Jack: I just want to know how long it took you to pick that costume out.
Jamal: Wait, wait, I know why.
Jack: But why?
Jamal: I think I got it. I think I got it. Mort -- dude, it's cool. I mean, just admit it, ok? I mean, it's not a bad --
mort: Admit what?
Jamal: Well, you know, the ladies have been, you know, kind of panting over this masked guy, so you figured --
mort: I don't know what you're talking about.
Jack: Hey, hey, there's no crime in picking up girls.
Jamal: No, it's cool,
Mort: All right, so i'm not the stupid shadow. I wasn't trying to get anything, either. I was just trying to give the girls what they wanted, something to tell their friends, you know?
Mort: A little excitement, a little fun.
Jamal: Yo, mort, hey, hey, it's cool, it's cool. Hey, ooh, ooh, settle down.
Mort: I'm really sorry. I was going to tell you it was a joke -- eventually.
Summer: You don't have to apologize. I think it's kind of sweet what you did.
Mort: You do?
Lisa: Sure. How many guys do you know go to this much trouble just to make a girl's day?
Mort: When they're as beautiful as you two are --
summer: How would you like to buy us a couple of sodas?
Mort: It'd be my pleasure.
Jamal: You want to tell me what just happened here, jack? Please.
Jack: I don't know. But I think old mort might be on to something.
Ricky: You're messing with me, right?
Karen: No. I'm serious.
Ricky: What, you actually want to meet this caped psycho who's made it his personal mission to go around cleaning up the town?
Karen: Which he's done a pretty good job, by the way.
Ricky: Fine. So the guy's been putting a bunch of scumbags in their place, but he's got a pretty strange way of doing it.
Karen: Well, maybe it's a woman's fantasy to have this dark, mysterious stranger riding to the rescue.
Ricky: Well, this dark, strange, mysterious stranger likes to put a serious hurt on people. And don't forget nobody's even seen his face. You ever wonder why that is?
Karen: Well, maybe he wants to be anonymous, like robin hood or the scarlet pimpernel.
Ricky: You know what? You know what? I think that you actually got a little thing for this guy yourself. It's not just the nurses.
Karen: Oh, don't be silly.
Ricky: So should i be jealous?
Karen: Insanely. But don't worry. I doubt that me and the shadow would ever cross paths.
Ricky: Yeah. Well, I guess I would hope not, huh? Dark shadow.
Rafe: Hey, what's going on? You almost finished?
Rafe: Are you ok?
Livvie: Yeah. Uh -- I'll be right out.
Rafe: Well, what'd it say? What'd the test say?
Alison: Ok. All right, rafe. Time for you to come home where you belong.
Karen: So are you going to dedicate a song to me tonight?
Ricky: Drummers don't really do that, but i'll be thinking about you the whole time. How's that?
Karen: Well, if that's the best you could do, you know, it's -- oh, no.
Ricky: What? What? What's going on?
Karen: I think I left my keys at the hospital.
Ricky: Well, are you sure?
Karen: No, they're not here.
Oh, I don't believe this.
Ricky: Hey, hey, it's ok. We can just run back and get them, all right? But we have to book because I'm going to be late for sound check.
Karen: Ricky, honestly, why don't you go ahead to the club and I'll just run back myself and I'll meet you there later, ok?
Ricky: No, no, no, that's not happening, no.
Karen: Why not?
Ricky: I'm not letting you walk through the park at night by yourself.
Karen: I'll be fine. Besides, you got to go.
Ricky: No, karen --
karen: No, no, no, no. No "buts," ok? This gig is important to you and to the band, and you're new. Look, this isn't going to go over too well if you miss a sound check.
Ricky: But still --
karen: No, no "still," nothing, no. No, I've walked through this park many a time to go home and nothing -- nothing has ever happened, ok? Besides, if something did happen, I'm sure the shadow man would swoop in to protect me.
Ricky: You know what? That's not funny, all right? Don't even joke about that.
Karen: Ok, you know what? You get later every minute you stand here arguing, so just go, ok?
Ricky: Karen, come on --
karen: Have a great show, and I'll see you later.
Ricky: Karen -- karen -- oh, god. Karen, be careful, all right? Hey, don't be late.
Man: Keep your mouth ut and hand me the bag.
Karen: Are you crazy? This is a medical bag.
Man: I said hand me the bag!
Karen: No! Get lost, ok?
Man: Give me it!
Karen: Let go of me! Let go!
Jamal: We are definitely doing something wrong.
Jamal: I mean, mort the orderly gets busted for impersonating the shadow and he still gets play.
Jack: Yeah, while we sit here and -- sit here, yeah.
Jamal: Yeah, well, at least we learned one thing tonight.
Jack: Oh, yeah? What's that?
Jamal: Well, ian was definitely right. We were taking this whole masked man thing way too serious. We were.
Jack: You mean i was taking it way too seriously. And you know what? You're right. I was. But I think old mort might have taught us something here tonight.
Jamal: Like what?
Jack: Well, we should be chasing women, not monsters, huh?
Jamal: Welcome back, big boy.
Jack: So what do you say it's about time we move on?
Jamal: It's past time.
Jack: Shall we?
Jamal: Well, I don't know. Mort is a hard act to follow. But you know what? I'm going to do this for you. I'm going to try.
Jack: Follow my act. Hey, ladies. Excuse us. Are these seats taken?
Summer: They are now.
Rafe: Well, what happened? Is it positive? I mean, are you pregnant?
Livvie: I -- i don't know. I'm too nervous to look, rafe.
Rafe: Well, I don't know what to look for. What do I look for?
Livvie: If it's red, it's positive, and if it's blue, it's negative, negative.
Rafe: You're pregnant. We're really having a baby.
>> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "port charles: Torn."
>> On the next "port charles" --
karen: Help! Help!
Let go of me!
Rafe: Just a few minutes ago we found out for sure.
Alison: You found out what?
Rafe: Livvie's pregnant.
Who do you think is the new "Shadow" that is beating up the bad guys on Port Charles?
