Livvie: Daddy? I'm so sorry. I tried to stop her. I tried, but I was too late.

Jack: Livvie?

Livvie: Hey, I have nothing more to say to you, Jack.

Jack: I really don't think that's true, or you wouldn't be here. Obviously, this place means something to you. It does to me.

Livvie: I thought that I wouldn't feel so alone. But I was wrong. There's nothing left for me anymore.

Jack: Hey, wait, wait.

Livvie: What do you want?

Jack: I know you're upset. I know you're hurting. Don't turn your back on us. We've fought too hard to let this be the end.

Alison: Jamal.

Jamal: Hey. Hey. It's ok, I'm right here, baby.

Alison: I can't believe this. I -- I've been booked for Kevin's murder.

Jamal: Nice work, Commissioner. You got a real dangerous criminal off the streets here.

Alison: No, no, no, it's not -- it's not Mac's fault. He's been making sure that I've been treated well while I've been here. But, Mac, honestly, I swear to god I didn't do this.

Mac: I'd like to believe you, Alison, but there's so much evidence.

Jamal: Oh, sounds like you already got her convicted.

Mac: Alison, you have my word. I'll do everything I can for you if you start telling the truth.

Kate: Don't say a word, Alison. Not one word.

Alison: But Mac -- he's just trying to help me --

Kate: Yeah, help you to live a life behind bars. Or worse.

Officer: Ready, Commissioner?

Mac: Yeah. This is Officer Clark. She'll take you to your cell.

James: That's it, Master Rafe. Sign on the dotted line.

Rafe: Ok, ok, ok, don't push me, all right?

James: I wouldn't dream of it. But the sooner you sign this, the sooner you get back to earth and to Alison, and time -- it's of the essence. You know, they're practically building the gallows as we speak.

Rafe: Ok, ok, you know what? I get it. I can save Alison and you'll get my soul.

James: That's our deal.

Rafe: Yeah, well, not yet it's not. You know, I've been thinking and I got a few conditions of my own.

James: Now, look, this is not a negotiation.

Rafe: That's exactly what it is. Now, shut up and listen.

Livvie: My father is gone. I just wish that I could've been a better daughter. Even our last days together, all I did was fight with him and cause more grief. And I tried to make him understand what was going on and I only made matters worse.

Jack: Don't do this.

Livvie: No, Jack, I just wish I could take it all back.

Jack: Hey, listen to me -- your dad knew how much you loved him.

Livvie: I just wish I could see him one more time. I wish I could just tell him how much he meant to me.

Jack: Shh, shh. He knows. Livvie, he knows. You -- you brought so much -- listen to me -- you brought so much happiness to your dad's life. You could see it on his face every time you guys were together. And I know that he would not trade any of those moments he had with you for anything. And I don't think you would, either.

Livvie: What I know is I may not have been a good daughter when he was alive, but I am going to be one now.

Jack: What do you mean?

Livvie: Alison's not going to get away with this. I'm going to make sure of it. But the only question is, Jack, are you with me on this or not?

Officer Clark: You're lucky. You got the private suite.

Alison: I can't believe this. I'm in jail, and I am actually locked up.

Kate: I'm glad you're starting to see the seriousness of the situation, Alison. Maybe now you'll start listening to me and stop talking to the pole?

Alison: But Mac -- he promised me. He promised that he would help me.

Kate: I'm sure he did. The cops will say and do almost anything to get you to incriminate yourself.

Alison: But Mac -- he's my friend.

Kate: Your friend, and I'm sure he's going to use that. And if that doesn't work, he's going to get one of his buddies down here to try to scare you. You can't fall for it, Alison. From now on, you're going to have to keep your lip buttoned and start listening to me. Ok?

Alison: Ok.

Kate: All right, let's get down to business. From what I can see, the most incriminating evidence they have against you is the blood evidence.

Alison: Somehow Kevin's bloody sweater got into the trunk of my car.

Kate: Not to mention his blood in your shop, on your apron, and his broken watch.

Alison: I know, I know. I explained that it was an accident. But even if it wasn't, I mean, Kevin's a really big guy. Ok, he's over six feet tall. What do they think, that I, like, overpowered him or something?

Kate: No, Alison. The police believe that you had help.

Mac: Look, Jamal, I'm really sorry it had to come to this. And despite what you think, I'm not enjoying it.

Jamal: Hey, you're just doing what you got to do for your friend, same as me.

Mac: Alison's very lucky to have you.

Jamal: Yep. I'd do anything for her.

Mac: Hmm. I think you would.

Jamal: Here we go. What's that supposed to mean, and why are you looking at me like that?

Mac: I'm just saying I know that you've been there before.

Jamal: Oh, before?

Mac: Yeah. When she got in trouble with Cedric, you stepped in and --

Jamal: And what? So what?

Mac: And I can imagine how it went down this time --

Jamal: Really?

Mac: With Kevin, yeah.

Jamal: And how was that?

Mac: Oh, you know -- well, Kevin goes out, closed down the shop --

Jamal: Uh-huh.

Mac: Alison's upset. Next thing you know, things get out of hand. She's done something that she never meant to do.

Jamal: Mm-hmm.

Mac: She's scared, she's frightened, so she calls the one person that she knows she can count on for help.

Jamal: What are you saying? You think I helped her kill Kevin?

Rafe: I want you to leave Alison alone. You can have my soul, but hers is off limits.

James: May I remind you, Master Rafe, that even if I were to agree with you, what becomes of Alison's soul is not entirely up to me. I mean, remember, there's free will. You know all about free will.

Rafe: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I do, and I also know Alison has a lot of it, which is why I know that if you leave her alone, she will make all the right decisions.

James: Oh, you drive a hard bargain. But I can live with that. Agreed.

Rafe: Another thing.

James: Another thing?

Rafe: Yes. She can never know what I've done. Because she'd just blame herself, ok, and that is the last thing that I want.

James: You know, I'm beginning to think that you really don't want this. I don't know, maybe you're getting cold feet, you want to call the whole thing off. Well, it's understandable. I mean, this kind of thing is -- is not for everyone. I'll tell you what -- just to show you that my heart is in the right place, I'll spare you the guilt.

Rafe: Wait. What are you doing?

James: I'm withdrawing the offer.

Rafe: What?

James: The deal is off. Look, have no fear. I'm sure that Alison will get a fair trial. And if not, well, perhaps she'll be joining you here. At any rate, no hard feelings, and I wish you good day.

Rafe: Wait!

James: Yes?

Rafe: It's done.

James: You fool. You stupid little fool.

James: Well, you've signed your soul away for a fairy tale called love.

Rafe: I wouldn't expect you to understand. See, your kind never could.

James: My kind? You mean our kind. You're one of us now.

Rafe: Like hell I am.

James: Aptly put.

Rafe: Hey, you can have my soul, but I will never be like you!

James: Really?

Rafe: Yeah.

James: You've been looking down that holier-than-thou nose, feeling so superior. Yet the moment when you want something that the good guys won't give you, who do you come to? No matter how noble your intentions, you chose a side, as did I.

Rafe: But you know what? I don't have to listen to this. I'm out of here, back to earth.

James: Not just yet, you're not.

Rafe: What -- what do you mean, "not just yet?" That's the deal. You have to let me go back. Alison needs me!

James: I don't have to let you do anything. You'll go back to earth when I say you'll go back to earth, and not one second before.

Jamal: Look, get this straight, all right? I did not help Alison get rid of Kevin's body because she didn't do anything to Kevin.

Mac: Jamal, I know you want to protect her. Ok, I understand. I'm just asking you to stop. Stop and think about a man who died, who leaves behind a wife, his kids, a father, his friends. I'm asking you to do the decent thing -- tell us where his body is so the people who love him can say goodbye.

Jamal: And I told you -- I don't know where he is. In fact, I don't know anything.

Mac: If you're lying to me, you better pray I never find out.

Alison: They're dragging somebody else into this?

Kate: Because of what you said before. They know they're never going to be able to prove that a woman your size could dispose of Kevin's body.

Alison: Oh, my God. That sounds so awful -- "dispose of his body."

Kate: But you didn't, Alison.

Alison: No, no. No, it's just --

Kate: What?

Alison: I can't even believe I'm being accused of this, of killing him.

Kate: There's nothing that's not in your statement that I need to know about, is there?

Alison: Like what?

Kate: Like if somebody knows something that could be damaging to our case.

Alison: No, not that I know of. Although I wouldn't put it past now. She hates me that much.

Kate: I'll make a note of that. That could be useful.

Officer Clark: You have a visitor.

Jamal: Hey.

Alison: Jamal, what are you doing here? You should really go home.

Jamal: I am not going anywhere until they throw me out.

Kate: Well, we're done here. I want to go check on the arraignment. Alison, do you need anything?

Alison: No. I think that they've pretty much taken care of that.

Alison: Hi.

Jamal: Hi. How you holding up?

Alison: I've seen better days. I -- I saw you talking to Mac when I -- when I left, when they took me away.

Jamal: Yeah. Yeah, we had a few words.

Alison: What did he say?

Jamal: Nothing. He was just talking his usual trash, that's all. Nothing new. Don't worry about it.

Alison: Don't do that. Don't do that. I know when you're holding back. What did he say? Did he say something?

Jamal: Somehow -- somehow he got it in his head that -- that I might have --

Alison: Helped me?

Jamal: Yeah.

Alison: Oh, God, Jamal, I'm so sorry you're being --

Jamal: No, no, don't even worry about it.

Alison: Dragged into this.

Jamal: Don't worry about it, ok? We're both going to be fine. We're going to be fine. Don't -- stop.

Alison: Ok.

Jamal: All right?

Alison: Yes.

Jamal: That lawyer you got -- she's -- she seems like she's a tough cookie, you know?

Alison: Yeah.

Jamal: That's good.

Alison: Yeah, that's good.

Jamal: That's real good, all right?

Alison: That's good. I just wish that I could tell her the truth, you know, the real truth.

Jamal: No, no, no, no. Ok, we already talked about this. If you start mentioning all this supernatural stuff --

Alison: I know, I know, I know. Ok. I know it'll just get me in more trouble if that's at all possible.

Jamal: Trust me, things can get a lot worse.

Alison: Yeah. That's what Kate said. You know, she asked me if -- if anybody, like, had anything on me, like, damaging or anything.

Jamal: Yeah? And what'd you tell her?

Alison: Well, I told her, of course not.

Jamal: Well, that's not exactly true, Ali.

Alison: Why? What do you mean?

Jamal: Well, I heard you at the barn.

Alison: At the barn?

Jamal: Talking to Rebecca's portrait. That's when I heard you say that Kevin's death was your fault.

Jack: I can understand why you're so angry with Alison. I mean, if someone I love would've been hurt, then I'd want to go after that person, too -- do things to make sure they got paid back.

Livvie: What are you trying to get at, Jack?

Jack: I know that you tampered with those candles, and I need to know if you did something to make Alison look guilty. Did you plant Kevin's sweater in the back of her car?

Livvie: How could you even ask me a question like that?

Jack: Now, listen to me, I'm asking the question because if I'm going to be on your side, I need to know the truth. You have to be honest with me. Sweetie, I'm not going to judge you. Look, I know that you're trying to help. I know, but you're not. It's only hurting the investigation, keeping the police from finding out the absolute truth. And isn't that the most important thing? Finding out what really happened to your dad? Sweetie, don't be scared. We're going to go down there together and we're going to tell them everything. It's going to be ok.

Livvie: Jack --

Jack: But first -- first, I need to know. I need to know everything you did.

Livvie: What is this?

Jack: What?

Livvie: Oh, my God, there's -- there's a tape recorder in your pocket!

Livvie: You bastard. Alison got to you, didn't she? She made you wear that recorder!

Jack: I don't know what you're talking about.

Livvie: You came down here to make me believe that you still cared about me when all you were doing was setting me up so the police will let Alison go!

Jack: No, I came down here because I care about us, and I was hoping that we'd be able to find our way back to each other.

Livvie: And you're still lying about it!

Jack: Livvie, I am not lying!

Livvie: Well, then prove it! Let me see what's in your pocket.

Jack: You want to see what's in here? It's a portable CD player. Maybe if I'd have been you, it would've been a recorder.

Livvie: Can you blame me for thinking the way I did? I mean, the way you've been treating me lately, I feel like I don't even know you anymore.

Jack: I don't think I really know you, either. I really don't think you care about me or us or even the truth.

Livvie: I know what the truth is. Alison murdered my father and now she's taking you away from me, too. Why can't you see that, Jack? Why can't you see --

Jack: This is not Alison's fault.

Livvie: Will you stop? I don't need to hear you defending her anymore. I already know how you feel. I know whose side you're on, and it's not mine.

Jack: Livvie, do not --

Livvie: No, Jack, there's nothing more to say. It's really over this time. So just go. Ok? Go and leave me alone.

Rafe: Now, you listen to me, you lying snake. I have to get back to Alison now.

James: There are procedures, paperwork.

Rafe: Procedures? What are you trying to pull?

James: You'll get your lifetime on earth, and I'll get your soul. And it'll be on my schedule, not yours. So until then, make yourself at home.

Rafe: James -- hey, no -- James! James! Bastard!

Rafe: What's going on? Why won't this door open?

Ed: Sorry, kid. I can't let you in. You don't belong here anymore.

Alison: I was talking about my involvement with Rebecca. I thought that maybe it had something to do with Kevin's disappearance, that's all.

Jamal: But still -- Alison, what if the D.A. puts me on the stand and makes me testify? You know how they twist things around. You know that, ok? They're going to make it try to sound like -- like you made a confession or something. Whatever, you know, I'll just have to lie. I don't care.

Alison: No, no. Listen to me -- that is perjury. No.

Jamal: Hey, hey, I know you are innocent. Ok, I will do whatever it takes to prove --

Alison: No, you won't. Listen to me, I'm serious. Don't. I do not want you doing that, period. I don't want to talk about this anymore.

Jamal: Well, there's one way that we can fix it so I don't have to testify.

Alison: What is it?

Jamal: Marry me.

>> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "Port Charles: Superstition."

>> on the next "Port Charles" --

Ed: You really think she's getting back the man she loves? It's all different now, son, because now you're different.

Lucy: They think Kevin is dead, don't they? That's what they think?

Alison: I can't marry you because I'm already married.
