Jack: Hey, Jamal, man, thanks for bailing me out.

Jamal: Yeah, no problem. I just -- I don't know why you did it.

Jack: I know you had to borrow money against the business, and I'll pay you back, I promise.

Jamal: So what's up? You going to explain it to me, or what?

Jack: What's there to explain? I mean, this guy was in bed with her. You don't know what this guy was saying.

Jamal: You're right, I don't know -- because you won't tell me. All I know is that you lost it and started wailing on some frat boy.

Jack: He said that Livvie was asking for it. Do you believe that? He said that Livvie invited him up.

Jamal: Jack, come on, there were eyewitnesses -- a bunch of nurses that got off duty across the street from the terminal waiting for the bus. They saw Livvie walk up to your pal, the punching bag, and give him her number.

Jack: No, no way. No way.

Jamal: Look, his name is Kyle. He's a sophomore at the U, business major.

Jack: Ok, ok -- who did you talk to, some frat boys? Some of his frat brothers?

Jamal: Livvie paid for the room.

Jack: Yeah, it was supposed to be for us.

Jamal: What, that's what Livvie told you?

Jack: No, but -- I mean, why would she?

Jamal: I don't -- you know, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what's going on, but if you got to take a swing at me or something for saying this, then do your thing. But everything that I got -- everything that I got points to Livvie making all the moves. Ok, she deliberately seduced this guy that you almost beat to a pulp.

*****************************************

Alison: Livvie, what do you mean you don't --

Livvie: I said I don't remember.

Alison: Livvie, Jack finds you in bed with some total hottie and you don't even remember how it happened?

Livvie: No, Alison, I swear it, I don't know how I got there. It's as if Jack walked in and I woke up, like, out of a dream. I can't remember!

Alison: Ok, calm down, all right?

Livvie: And from the second I walked out of the recovery room until Jack walked into the hotel -- I mean, how did he get there anyway? I don't even know how I got there. How was it that Jack was able to find me?

Alison: Because the hotel, they called.

Livvie: What?

Alison: To confirm your reservation. So Jack thought that, you know, you had gotten a hotel room for the both of you.

Livvie: Oh, no.

Alison: Livvie, there's more. You know how you went to get all dolled up for your big night with Jack?

Livvie: Yeah, Alison, what is it?

Alison: Livvie, Jack was going to propose. He was going to ask you to marry him.

*****************************************

Eve: I know you don't know why mommy's packing. Mommy doesn't even know why mommy's packing. But the thing is, is that we have to go. That's the truth. You see, the thing is I don't know how it happened or why it happened, but we can't trust your daddy anymore. We can't trust your daddy.

[Pounding on door]

Kevin: All right, all right, before you knock a hole in the door. What? Hello, Ian. What can I do for you?

*****************************************

P.A. Announcer: Frank Scanlon to on-call, please. Frank Scanlon.

Frank: What the heck's going on? Why page me to on-call? Hello?

Karen: What took you so long, Frank? You know I hate waiting.

Frank: Karen.

Karen: I was just trying on a few things I bought.

Frank: Oh, wow.

Karen: I guess that means you like what you see.

Frank: Oh, yeah.

Karen: You know, I bought this with you in mind. All yours.

**********************************************

Alison: Anyway, I'm so sorry.

Livvie: My God. Alison, he came to ask me to marry him and found me in bed with that guy, and I don't even remember what happened. I can't even tell him how I got there.

Alison: Listen, maybe --

Livvie: How could I do this to him? What is wrong with me?

**********************************************

Jack: Jamal, you sure about this? I mean, you really sure that Livvie asked this guy up?

Jamal: Come on, I wouldn't have said it if I wasn't sure.

Jack: But it's just not her. I mean, it's not her to do something like that. There's got to be some kind of reason.

Jamal: Yeah, I know, but, like, what?

Jack: I don't know, maybe Caleb. Maybe she's having a stronger reaction than the rest of us. That makes sense, huh?

Jamal: Yeah, it could be that. Maybe -- I don't --

Jack: Or maybe I just don't know Livvie anymore.

**********************************************

Livvie: I don't even recognize myself anymore, Ali.

Alison: Yeah, and -- and why you've been acting the way that you've been acting.

Livvie: And feeling and not feeling and -- and not remembering these big chunks of time. They're gone, they're missing, and I don't know where I've been or what I've done. I mean, there's got to be something wrong with me, right? Please tell me there's something wrong with me or else --

Alison: Or else what?

Livvie: How could I hurt Jack like this?

**********************************************

Jamal: Maybe we're just overreacting. Ok, stuff like this just doesn't come out of nowhere, Jack. You know, if Livvie's going to change, she's not just going to change overnight, you know what I'm saying?

Jack: But it's not. That's just it. This is not the first time Livvie's done something weird.

Jamal: All right, what kind of weird?

Jack: All kinds. Believe me, I have a whole list. And, Jamal, I kept trying to push them away thinking that maybe we could get back to normal, maybe our relationship could get back to the way it was before Caleb. Maybe it can't and maybe I'm making it worse by trying.

**********************************************

Livvie: You know, he's better off without me. I should just let him go.

Alison: No. But that's not what you want, and that's not what Jack wants, either. Livvie, this isn't the first time something like this has happened, right? Obviously there is some sort of pattern here, ok? Something's very, very wrong, but you don't just accept it and throw your whole life away. You go see somebody about it. Ok, maybe it's some sort of, you know, virus or some sort of posttraumatic thing.

Livvie: Yeah, you're right. I mean, you could be right. Maybe there is a cure for -- for what's happening to me.

Alison: Yeah, yeah, but you just got to figure out what it is.

Livvie: Yeah. But before that or -- or anything else --

Alison: You've got to talk to Jack.

Livvie: Yeah, I have to talk to Jack.

**********************************************

Eve: Ok, sweetie. We're all packed. It's time to go. I just -- I got to write your daddy a note and tell him why we're leaving. "Ian, I'm writing this to tell you --" no. "Explain why I'm leaving. You don't trust me. You thought that I would put our baby in danger. You called my doctor to get personal information about me."  Forget it. It's not going to work because he's just going to use that information and turn it against me somehow. Because your father is the most manipulative man I've ever met.   But he's -- he's also the most loving. Why am I so afraid?

**********************************************

Kevin: I guess I know what that was for.

Ian: For poisoning my wife's mind.

Kevin: Poisoning her mind?

Ian: Did you or did you not tell her that I was responsible for the kidnapping in December?

Kevin: Evidence points that way, Ian.

Ian: What proof do you have?

Kevin: I have a lot more than you think.

Ian: Oh, is that right?

Kevin: Yeah.

Ian: Well, what is it? Why are you coming after me? Why now?

Kevin: Let's say I've been warned.

Ian: You've been warned by whom?

Kevin: There's someone else who's also worried about your wife's safety, ok?

Ian: Oh. All right. Well, now I get it.

Kevin: You got what?

Ian: You're jealous.

Kevin: What? Over what?

Ian: You want to break up my marriage so you could have eve back.

Kevin: Oh, now I know you're crazy.

Ian: Uh-huh. And that's why you're miserable in your own relationships.

Kevin: Son of a --

Ian: You're losing your cool there, doctor.

Lucy: That is enough.

Kevin: Lucy --

Lucy: What are you doing? You're both acting like some sort of hormonal teenagers.

Ian: He's trying to break up my marriage --

Kevin: You believe whatever you want! My only concern is for your wife.

Ian: There's the rub.

Lucy: No, that is not the rub. The rub is what we've been talking about, Doc, and you know it deep down. That's what this is about.

Kevin: Lucy, he came into my home and he punched me. Now, don't give me any more nonsense about an evil force.

Lucy: What do you mean nonsense?

Kevin: The explanation for this is a lot simpler than that, and the answer is standing right there.

**********************************************

Eve: What was I thinking? If anybody's going to leave, it's going to be your father. He can't just expect us to pack up with no place to go. There's a baby here. We are going to stay right here where it's safe.  Oh.

["Brahms' lullaby" plays]

[Daniel cries]

Eve: Oh. Oh, Danny. Oh, it's ok. Yes, it's ok. Mommy's here. It's ok, sweetheart. We're ok. We're right at home where it's --

[Daniel stops crying]

Eve: Safe.

**********************************************

Frank: Wow.

Karen: You know, you've been saying that a lot this morning.

Frank: Yeah, well, you have given me a whole lot to wow over.

Karen: Hmm. Think you could get used to it?

Frank: If we practice.

Karen: Uh-uh, uh-uh. Problem?

Frank: No, no, no, no, no. I'm just going to lock the door.

Karen: Oh. Leave it.

Frank: Unlocked?

Karen: Yeah, so, are you worried somebody might see us? I guess that could be a little dangerous.

Frank: Could be.

**********************************************

Alison: Livvie, I really think that maybe we should just wait for -- back at the bike shop for Jack. Uh-huh. Ahem. Hey, Jamal --

Jamal: Yeah?

Alison: Why don't we go somewhere?

Jamal: Go where?

Alison: Anywhere that isn't here.

Jack: Excuse me.

Alison: Yeah.

Jamal: All right.

Alison: Listen, she says she doesn't remember what happened, and I believe her. I really do.

Livvie: So.

Jack: So.

Livvie: Jack, do you mind if we sit down?

Jack: No.

Livvie: I swear it. Jack, I don't remember how I got --

Jack: Livvie --

Livvie: Into the --

Jack: Livvie -- people saw you coming on to the guy.

Livvie: Yeah, I know.

Jack: You reserved a room. I thought it was for us.

Livvie: God. Jack, what is happening to me? Why can't I remember anything?

Jack: Just like the catacombs -- you don't know how you got there, you don't know what happened to your clothes.

Livvie: You don't believe me and I -- I barely even --

Jack: No --

Livvie: Believe myself.

Jack: I believe you.

Livvie: You do?

Jack: It's just -- it's just kind of scary. I know what I saw when I walked in that room.

Livvie: Jack, I'm so sorry.

Jack: And I keep trying to get it out of my mind.

Livvie: Yeah, I know. I do, too. Especially after what Alison told me. How you made plans for the two of us to be alone.

Jack: Yeah. Well, they didn't exactly turn out like I thought they would.

Livvie: You were going to ask me to marry you. I know that's what you wanted, Jack. It's what I want, too.

Jack: Livvie, listen --

Livvie: Jack, please. Why don't you -- we're so right for each other, we love each other, Jack. Ask me. Jack, please. It's not too late. Please ask me.

**********************************************

Frank: That wasn't bad.

Karen: "Wasn't bad"?

Frank: Maybe you need to refresh my memory.

Karen: Oh.

Karen: Is it all coming back to you now?

Frank: Oh, yeah. I don't know what has gotten into you, but no complaints.

P.A. Announcer: Karen Wexler to the E.R. Dr. Wexler, stat.

Karen: Duty calls.

Frank: But --

Karen: I got to go.

Frank: But -- yeah, but you think we could meet later and --

Karen: And plan something? Now, that kind of takes the fun out of it, knowing what's coming. But I will see you later when you least expect it.

[Door opens and closes]

Frank: Wow. What's got into her?

**********************************************

Jack: I do love you. Maybe too much.

Livvie: And what is that supposed to mean?

Jack: It means that I can't marry you. And it's not because of what just happened with that guy.

Livvie: I don't understand.

Jack: Livvie, we've been through so much together -- our lives, our families, and then Caleb. And I thought that I could be that person that you hang on to and that that would make everything better and we could push away all the bad stuff and help each other and be a family for each other.

Livvie: We can be, Jack.

Jack: I don't know why you were with that guy. I don't know what makes you lose hours at a time. And I don't know why you say one thing and do another. But I do know that I almost killed somebody last night, and that took me to a place that I thought I'd never be again -- so angry that I didn't even feel human anymore. I almost ripped this guy's head off.

Livvie: For me?

Jack: Yeah. It was like --

Livvie: Like what?

Jack: Like the only thing that was missing was the craving for blood. Other than that, everything's pretty much the same.

Livvie: God, Jack --

jack: Livvie, I don't know what's going on with you. Or us. But I do know no matter how much I love you, I can't fix you.

Livvie: Fix me?

Jack: Make you better. And marrying you's not the answer.

Livvie: You're afraid, aren't you?

Jack: For both of us.

Livvie: You think being with me, you'll turn back into that --

Jack: Monster. Yeah. I'm sorry.

**********************************************

Alison: So everything's going to be ok with them, right? Don't you think? Jamal? Please tell me you do even if you don't.

Jamal: It'll be ok, all right?

Alison: Yeah. We hope. So everything's cool, then, between us?

Jamal: Yeah.

Alison: Right?

Jamal: Yeah, we're cool, baby.

Alison: Because you don't know how hard it was to feel, like, that far away from you.

Jamal: Well, you know you didn't have to.

Alison: I know. I know, I know, Jamal. It was -- it was totally all my fault. And now when I think about everything that Livvie and Jack are going through, I feel totally embarrassed about how I overreacted with you and Valerie.

Jamal: Valerie who? Huh?

**********************************************

Manager: Well, everything looks pretty good to me.

Valerie: You mean it?

Manager: Why not? We need another waitress. You got the job.

**********************************************

Ian: So you think I'm the answer to all your problems. Is that right, Collins?

Lucy: Ian, let it go.

Ian: I'm not good at letting things go. Why don't we do this -- why don't we start digging through your life, see what we come up with?

Lucy: No, let's not. I'm begging you, even please --

Kevin: That's fine with me, Lucy. I had a breakdown. Everyone knows that.

Lucy: Stop, doc --

Kevin: But you seem to have new secrets popping up every day, Ian.

Ian: Which brings us back to my life and, more importantly, my wife. Stay away from her, Collins.

Kevin: Or what?

Ian: I'm warning you.

Kevin: Really?

[Knock on door]

Lucy: Doc, go get the door, please. Get the door, please.

[Knocking]

Eve: I'm leaving Ian. Can Danny and I stay here for a while?   Ian.

**********************************************

>> Stay tuned for scenes from the next "Port Charles: Tempted."

>> On the next "Port Charles" --

Ian: Is that what this is about? You two wishing that things had turned out differently?

Caleb: You can have love starting right now that'll be everlasting.

Livvie: I don't want to be alone.
