Port Charles Update Wednesday 10/10/01
Alison: Hey, hey, hey, hey.
Ok, so, I talked to Nana and all the details are set for the Barrington yacht.
Jack: Alison, maybe we should
rethink this whole boat thing.
Alison: It's a yacht, jack.
Jack: I mean, what if there's
Alison: Well, jack, I mean,
it's big --
jack: I want to sweep her off
her feet, but not that way, you know?
Alison: You're nervous.
Alison: You are. That's sweet.
Jack: Yeah. Ok, its not Every
day a guy asks a girl to marry him.
Livvie: What's up with you
Alison: Nothing. What's up
with you? Hi. How are you doing? I have to go.
Jack: She just got some big
tip. It's pretty funny. You look like you haven't slept in days.
Livvie: Oh, actually, I slept
like a log, but I'm still tired.
Jack: It's the dreams, huh?
Livvie: Yeah, it's like I'm
dreaming all night long, but I can't remember them when I wake up.
Jack: Well, you're in luck
because I have a special Evening planned for us, something that will chase away
all those bad dreams. Hmm?
Chris: Karen, it's Chris. You
have to call me, ok? I stopped by your place, but you weren't there. I know
you're upset, but we need to talk.
Karen: So talk.
Chris: You don't answer your
messages. Where have you been?
Karen: The D.A.'S office,
turning you in, dr. Frankenstein.
Eve: There's more in the
fridge. Are you hungry?
Ian: No, thanks. Are we ok?
Eve: Yes, of course we're ok.
Ian: Oh. My turn.
Eve: Oh, thank you.
Ian: All right.
Eve: Something wrong?
Ian: Uh, no. Baby's fine. But
you forgot to turn on the monitor.
Eve: That's ridiculous. I
always turn it on.
Ian: I know you have a lot on
your mind. But with Daniel having the sleep apnea, we got to make sure that
thing is on at all times.
Eve: Ian, I check that monitor
50 times a day. Look, I don't know what happened. But it was on.
Lucy: Oh. Doc. I'm so glad
you're still here. Oh!
Kevin: Lucy --
Lucy: No, no, no, no, I'm not
done, I'm not done.
Kevin: Lucy, what happened?
Lucy: I -- I saw something
that I’ll never be able to forget. I -- I saw a vision of my own death.
Chris: You ratted me out to
the D.A.? Karen, how could you do that to me?
Karen: Oh, relax, Ramsey. It
was a joke. You know, I wish I had a camera to capture that look on your face.
Chris: Karen, this is no joke.
Karen: Well, it wasn't a joke
when you injected me with the vampire juice, either, but, hey, your secret's
safe with me.
Chris: It is? Then what do you
Karen: An end to world hunger
and bad hair days.
Chris: What do you want from
Karen: You know, that is so
sweet of you to ask. Really. I want your research. I want to know Everything
there is to know about what you injected into me.
Chris: You wouldn't be able to
read my notes. I can answer any questions you have, though.
Karen: Oh, oh, chill out,
Ramsey. I'm not trying to steal your precious research. I just need to know
what's going on inside of me because there is something happening.
Chris: What? What's happening?
Karen: I feel incredible. It
feels like Every nerve ending in my body is tingling. I feel ready for anything.
Chris: No strange cravings?
Karen: Well, I haven't felt
the need to knock back a six-pack of o-neg if that's what you're asking.
Chris: That's good. That's
Karen: I just feel ready for
Kevin: All right, Lucy. Just
-- just back up a little bit and tell me what you mean by -- a near-death
Lucy: Ok, yeah, well, it was
kind of a vision because you know how we're sort of, Rafe and me, we're kind of
joined, you know, psychically. It's like our minds -- it's so cool -- we meld
Kevin: Lucy. Fast forward.
Lucy: Rafe had a vision that
he shared with me. He showed me my own death.
Kevin: What did Rafe say that
Lucy: It means that I have to
stop messing around with evil or that's how I'm going to end up. He did it to
Kevin: Well, it's working on
me, let me tell you! Lucy, just do what Rafe says and stop fiddling around with
evil -- spirits. Lucy, he caught you doing it, didn't he?
Lucy: Well, I was taunted. I
could feel that evil presence taunting me, so I went out and I called it out.
Kevin: You did what?
Lucy: Well, nothing happened.
Rafe showed up and he showed me the ghost of Lucy future.
Kevin: Well, he showed you how
you can avoid that, right?
Lucy: Yes, I have to stop
dealing with evil. Just get away -- I plan to. I mean, like nobody's business,
but, doc, I can't get that image out of my head. It really did scare me.
Kevin: All right, all right.
Look, Lucy, there is no way I'm losing you. So that's it. No more hocus-pocus
and no more field trips into the woods, all right?
Lucy: No, no, no, no, no. I
promise, I promise. Listen, I just have this other feeling I can't shake.
Kevin: What do you mean?
Lucy: I think Rafe was trying
to tell me that I'm not the only person in danger.
Ian: I'm not accusing you. I'm
reminding you that we need to be extra careful with Daniel.
Eve: Like how I wasn't careful
when I locked myself outside the loft and Danny inside.
Ian: I'm not saying that. You
just haven't been yourself lately.
Eve: Well, maybe that has
something to do with your past, all the little secrets that keep popping up.
Ian: You're welcome to ask me
anything you like about my past.
Eve: I'm sorry. I think I just
need some caffeine.
Eve's voice: So what is this
supposed to mean?
Kevin: Eve, when did you and
Ian really fall in love? When you were kidnapped, right?
Eve: Are you saying that Ian
set this whole thing up? Kevin, that's crazy.
Kevin: I'm saying that he
could have done the Same thing to that woman. And when her husband found out,
Ian could have killed him.
Eve: That is insane, Kevin!
Ian: Well, I don't know if she
can handle that right now. I'll break it to her gently. I'll find you.
Eve: Who was that on the
Ian: The hospital. They want
me to go in there early, so I got to go.
Eve: Ok, I'll see you later.
Ian: All right. You going to
be ok? Check the --
Eve: Monitor. I know.
Eve: Kevin, it's Eve.
Kevin: What's up?
Eve: I've been thinking about
what you told me about Anne Marie. I haven't been able to stop thinking about
that. And now Ian is acting strange. I really need to talk to you.
Kevin: Ok. Meet me in my
office. I'm on my way. Lucy, I'm sorry, I have to go to work.
Lucy: Wait a minute. You're
leaving me? I just told you I had a vision of my death, and this whole town is
haunted by the mother of all satanic forces, and you're ditching me?
Kevin: I'm sorry. It's an
Lucy: It's an emergency, fine.
I'm just going to sit right here and watch a whole parade of demons waltz by my
Kevin: Lucy, it's like Rafe said -- if you don't invite evil in, it won't come in. So please don't put out
any invitations, all right?
Lucy: No way. No, I'm on a
crystal and white light from here on out. That's my diet right there, ok.
Kevin: I won't be long.
Lucy: Really? Ok.
Kevin: I promise.
Kevin: All right.
Lucy: All right.
Lucy: Why can't I see the face
of my murderer? Why can't I just see a face?
Chris: What do you think
Karen: Well, what's wrong,
Ramsey? You haven't seen a naked woman before?
Chris: Just not this
particular naked woman. I've never seen you so uninhibited.
Karen: Well, I can remember a
few staff Christmas parties.
Chris: I must have achieved the right balance in the drug mixture I was looking for. I mean, you look great.
No fangs, no cravings.
Karen: Hmm, no. Just your
basic, healthy all-American girl.
Chris: Yeah, who might stay
that way for decades, thanks to a little nip of vampire blood, huh?
Chris: Listen, I know you
freaked out before when I wanted to examine you, but in the name of science --
Karen: Sure. I'll let you look
in the name of science.
Chris: You mean it?
Karen: But first, I need to
take a shower. And you know what? I could really use a sandwich from the
Chris: I'll get you that
sandwich. Then we get to work, ok?
Karen: I'll meet you in your
Chris: Oh. Somewhere there is
a big, old private jet with my name on it. Maybe a noble prize. Or better yet,
magazine covers. Going to need a press agent.
Mary: Oh, Ian. I'm so glad you
Ian: What'd you find?
Mary: Well, I got some great
nannies for you. And, you know, all new mothers could use a helping hand.
Ian: Yeah, I know it. So this
is the one you said just quit her job.
Mary: Oh, that was a terrible
situation. The mother was keeping the baby sick so that she could get attention.
You know, the Muchausen syndrome by proxy.
Ian: I've never actually seen
Mary: First the mother's
symptoms were diagnosed as postpartum depression. She was distracted, overly
protective. But she was purposely creating life-and-death dramas in her life and
the life of the child.
Ian: So others could save her?
Ian: So the mother would make
the child suffer for attention.
Mary: That's right. Well, you
look over those resumes and let me know what you think, ok?
Ian: I will. Thanks, marry.
Mary: You're welcome.
Nurse: Dr. Thornhart?
Nurse: Don't forget your wife
has an appointment tomorrow. I was just about to deliver her file up to ob-gyn.
Ian: I'll take it. I'm going
up there in a few minutes anyway. Thanks, Tracy.
Kevin: Good. I got here as
soon as I could.
Eve: Ok. I talked to Ian about
Anne Marie and the kidnapping thing.
Kevin: Did you tell him that I
spoke to her?
Eve: No. Why?
Kevin: Because she's terrified
Eve: Well, I didn't give her
away -- or you for that matter.
Kevin: You know what? Right
now, I don't care if Ian knows that I talked to you about her. Never mind. What
did he say?
Eve: Well, it was all
perfectly innocent. He told me that he kidnapped her away from work so that they
could go on a picnic together.
Kevin: Do you believe him?
Eve: Of course I do! He's my
Kevin: Ok, ok. But what about
you’re kidnapping? What did he say about that?
Eve: How am I supposed to
accuse the man I love of being a liar and a cheat when he's not?
Kevin: Well, if you believe that, why are you here? Eve, you're afraid of your own husband.
Jack: I've got a surprise for
you tonight that will wipe away all your fears.
Livvie: Now, that's got to be
some big surprise. So why don't you tell me?
Jack: Hmm, no. No hints. I'm
going to make a few calls, and I'll be right back.
Livvie: No! Come on, jack.
Don't keep me guessing. Please.
Jack: Uh-uh. You wait right
there, and I'll be back.
Alison: I'll just be one
minute. Hi. What's going on?
Livvie: Jack is being very
Livvie: You know something,
Alison: No. I don't, I swear.
I know nothing. Um -- but just make sure that you wear some really nice, you
know, beautiful dress that will make his eyes pop. You know what I mean?
Alison: Here, I got to go --
Man: Excuse me. Livvie?
Remember me? We took biology together last spring.
Livvie: Yeah. Kyle, right? We
-- we used to share notes together?
Kyle: Right, right. I'm glad I
ran into you again. I was wondering if you'd like to have some dinner or
Livvie: You know, actually,
I'm seeing someone and -- here he is.
Kyle: Ok, well, take care.
Jack: Ok. Am I going to have
to take this guy, knock some sense into him?
Livvie: Well, he is really
cute, but not really my type.
Jack: And what's your type?
Livvie: Well, a guy who works
on motorcycles and has really funky hair and great lips. I got to go.
Livvie: I have a big date
Jack: Yeah, you do.
Livvie: See you later.
Jack: This is going to be
good. It's the best day of my life.
[Caleb's music plays]
Chris: Karen, I'm back. Sorry
it took so long, but the line --
Karen: So did you get my
Chris: What did you do?
Karen: Well, what does it look
like? I've been going through your files. You know, pretty awesome stuff. Good
read. According to this, the results of the first injection you gave me should
last for weeks, months, maybe forever.
Chris: Karen, what are you
Karen: Oh, oh -- and in case I
need another shot, I did take the rest of your precious serum. But don't worry.
It's in a safe place -- not that I don't trust you or anything.
Chris: Do you have any idea
what you've done?
Karen: Yeah. Put you out of
Chris: Karen -- Karen, if you
had any moral qualms about all this, why didn't you just report me to Alan or
the police? Why would you do this?
Karen: I didn't trash your
notes because I had moral objections. I did it because I don't want to share the
good stuff with anybody else.
Chris: You're not going to get
away with this.
Karen: What are you going to
do, Ramsey? Report this to Alan? Oh, or maybe the cops? You know, I don't think
they'll look too kindly at you playing god or making vampires in your basement.
Thanks for the sandwich. You know, I really worked up an appetite. See you.
Chris: What the hell have I done?
Eve's voice: So this is my
fault. It's my fear, my imagination that is keeping Caleb alive and making him
stronger. You think I'm obsessed? You think I'm out of control?
Ian: I never said that.
Eve: I am trying to protect
Ian: Our baby's fine. Look at
him. He's fine. It's you I'm worried about.
Eve: I thought I heard this
noise out in the hallway. So I went out to go see what it was, and before I knew
what was happening, the door slammed shut behind me and it locked. It locked
Danny in here all by himself, and he started screaming and crying, and there was
nothing I could do to get to him. I check that monitor 50 times a day. Look, I
don't know what happened, but it was on.
Ian: "Cause of death for
baby boy Lambert. Underdevelopment, prenatal neglect. Dr. Crater recommends a
psych evaluation for Eve Lambert."
Eve: I'm making a big deal out
of nothing. I do trust my husband and -- and I just had a baby. It's probably
hormones. I'm overreacting! I've been known to do that.
Kevin: But, Eve, are we
supposed to just ignore the fact that what happened to Anne Marie may have
happened to you, too? I met this woman, Eve. She is scared to death. She's
afraid that Ian might find out that she's still alive.
Eve: No, this sounds like some
sort of bad movie.
Kevin: Well, where do you
think writers get their ideas for bad movies? From life. Now, look, just -- just
step back for a moment. Before you and Ian were kidnapped, we were married.
Eve: Oh, god. Don't go there.
Kevin: No, you don't
understand. I love Lucy with all my heart, but, Eve, you and I were in love
Eve: What are you saying,
Kevin: I'm saying that if Ian
caused this, then we have a right to know!
Eve: Ok. I know in my head you
are right to question this. But in my heart, I want to just forget about this. I
love my husband.
Kevin: People do desperate
things for love.
Eve: This is supposed to be
the best time in my life. I'm married to the man I love. I have a wonderful,
wonderful little baby. And Everything is falling apart! And I don't know how to
keep it together.
Jack: Hey. I'm just a little
nervous. I want this night to be the best night of Livvie’s life.
Alison: It will, it will. I
know it will.
Jack: No, I want it to be
Jack: What do you think? Do
you think she'll like it?
Alison: Oh. It's so beautiful.
Jack: This ring belonged to my
mother. It's all I have left of her.
Alison: Well, jack, she's
going to be so excited about, you know, this ring, but also about the incredible
guy who'll be putting it on her finger.
Jack: We do love each other.
Alison: I know.
Jack: And a commitment like
this will keep Caleb off of our minds and out of our future.
Livvie: Hey, Kyle.
Livvie: You remember me?
Lucy: Doc is wrong about your
husband. And if you were smart, you won't listen to a thing he says about Ian.
Caleb: It can't be you.
Rafe: Is that any way to greet
an old friend?
Livvie: Tonight's the big
