Port Charles Update Wednesday 9/21/01
Eve: Well, I'd say that's just about the most beautiful sight in the world.
Ian: It's hard to leave him, even for a minute.
Eve: I'm sorry I took him out of the hospital without you.
Ian: Oh, come on, we're past that now.
Eve: I know, but bringing the baby home for the first time --
Eve: Ok. Ok, ok, ok. But can I talk you into watching him just a few more minutes while I take a shower?
Ian: I'd like nothing better. (Ian looks lovingly at his son)
Eve: You know what -- you were right. Because of me, you missed one of the most important moments in our son's life.
Ian: Maybe. Maybe not.
Lucy: Oh, my god.
Rafe: Hey, cuz. I saw your light on, so --
Lucy: Yeah, well -- wow. Oh, gosh, it's so good to see you. Come in, please.
Rafe: I hope I知 not intruding.
Kevin: No, no!
Rafe: I know it's an ungodly hour.
Lucy: No, you're not intruding, no matter what hour. I -- I can't believe this. We were actually just talking about you.
Rafe: That's why I came. I got the feeling you needed some help. You're worried about something, something evil.
Livvie: I told you I have to go. Caleb is waiting for me!
Jack: No, no, I'm not going to let you go to him.
Livvie: I'm his wife, jack. I belong to Caleb.
Jack: No, Livvie, you belong to me. You love me.
Livvie: Not anymore.
Jack: No. No, livvie, no. No, no, come back. No, livvie, no! No! No! Don't you leave me! Oh, my god. Oh, no.
Caleb: Honey, I'm home.
Livvie: No. This can't be happening.
Caleb: Don't I get a kiss from my darling wife?
Livvie: But you're dead. I saw you die.
Caleb: Yeah, yeah. Your people really did a number on me.
Livvie: Then how am I talking to you?
Caleb: Well, it's one of those good news/bad news things. I'm not exactly alive, but I ain't dead, either. I'm in kind of a holding pattern.
Livvie: No, this isn't real. Uh-uh. How can you be here?
Caleb: It's because of you. When you heard my music, when you opened the box, you made all this possible.
Livvie: I did?
Caleb: Yes, my love. You brought me back.
Eve: What are you doing?
Ian: What's it look like? Bringing you and the baby home for the very first time.
Eve: Oh, Ian.
Ian: Follow me. Close the door, please.
Eve: Oh. Aw.
Ian: Take the little one.
Eve: Take him?
Eve: Come on, Danny. Hi, baby.
Eve: Hello, baby boy. I got him.
Ian: You got him? Good. All right. Close your eyes.
Eve: Oh, ok.
Ian: Just for one moment.
Eve: Oh! Oh, Ian! Oh, my gosh. You had this planned the whole time.
Ian: Only from the moment I found out that you were pregnant. Give me my baby back.
Eve: He's mine, too.
Ian: Come here, little man. Hi. Ok, open the door, please.
Eve: Ok. Yes, sir.
Ian: All right. Here we are, Daniel. Welcome to your new digs. Right over here is where you're going to take your first steps.
Eve: Hey, don't rush him.
Ian: And then up here is where we're going to sit and watch the rugby game, with your mother telling us to keep our feet off the furniture.
Eve: And right over here, Danny -- this is where we're going to mark how tall you've grown year after year after year.
Ian: And how about over there we'll put all his trophies?
Ian: Yeah, he's going to win trophies.
Ian: He's got a good gene pool, doesn't he? All right, little man, time for you to get some rest. Need to take care of your beautiful mother.
Eve: And where would she be?
Ian: Here we go.
Eve: I got bags under my eyes that are a mile wide, I have had a bad hair month, and I don't think I'd even recognize a lipstick even if I found one.
Ian: You are beautiful, especially when you're smiling. There it is. Sit down.
Ian: Oh. Almost forgot.
Ian: Here we go. I was going to fill the whole room with roses or something, but this is all I could manage.
Eve: Oh, those are from Mrs. Gold's garden. She's going to send the garden police after you.
Ian: Yeah, well, we'll see about that.
Eve: You're in trouble.
Ian: Ok. Ahem. Now for my speech.
Ian: A homecoming isn't complete without one.
Ian: When you said you'd marry me, I -- it was the most incredible thing. And I swore I'd never ask for anything else because I didn't want to tempt fate. But then you gave me my baby. And now I got to tell you I didn't think it was possible to love you more.
Eve: You make me so happy. And you manage to surprise me every day. Ian, look. Our house. It's a home now. It's finally a home.
Kevin: Wait a minute -- so you do sense evil around us?
Rafe: Big time.
Lucy: Ok. Ok, but it's not Caleb. Rafe, listen, we sent that big bat straight back to hell. It was great. He was up on the hospital roof, we had him cornered, and then before I could even shoot him, this big lightning bolt hit him and blew him to smithereens.
Rafe: Sure, but I still sense something here, something a little funky.
Lucy: Oh. Well, you're right. You know, even though Caleb bit the dust, there have been some pretty strange things going on around here.
Kevin: Yeah, my -- my daughter, frankly, has been haunted by Caleb. She keeps having hallucinations about him and terrible dreams.
Lucy: Yeah, and so has eve. You know, even though Caleb痴 gone, it's almost like we're still all possessed by him. Rafe, do you think we're all crazy?
Rafe: No. Most vampire victims, whether bitten or just terrorized, usually experience very vivid dreams.
Kevin: Yeah, but eventually those go away, right?
Rafe: Depends how badly you want them to. What happened over there?
Lucy: Oh, that. Well, listen -- see, what I was trying to do is I was just trying out a little spell, you know, and somehow this weird spookiness manifested itself right in this room.
Kevin: You should have seen it. The force just smashed the mirror.
Lucy: It did. It did that when I was trying. I knew the evil was here and I was trying to get it to show itself, and then somehow that happened. I guess I somehow direct-dialed evil.
Rafe: Which is pretty foolish!
Rafe: You don't know what you're doing, Lucy, and that's dangerous. You're trying to conjure up evil? I think you're just making things worse.
Livvie: I didn't bring you back. I don't want you anywhere near me.
Caleb: Oh, you did revive me, sweetness. And you know why?
Livvie: Because it was an accident.
Caleb: It was love. True love conquers all.
Livvie: I love jack.
Caleb: Oh, please, not this again. You were the only one who heard my music, Olivia. Don't you get it?
Livvie: I must be going crazy.
Caleb: You still feel me. You feel me because we're still connected.
Livvie: No. You're just a poison that is in my system.
Caleb: A poison that's in your system? I offer you eternal life, and this is what I get in return?
Livvie: I don't want anything from you except for you to stay dead.
Caleb: I think you protest a bit too much. You still go weak when you think about how we made love, don't you?
Caleb: You still remember how I taste, how I feel, how I touched you.
Livvie: And I hate that I remember those things about you. Why are you here? What do you want?
Caleb: I want what anyone who's ever been betrayed wants. I want revenge.
Lucy: What do you mean I知 making things worse, huh?
Rafe: You're messing with things you don't understand, Lucy.
Lucy: What is there to understand, dear cousin? Evil's bad. Therefore, evil has to go.
Kevin: And she does seem able to connect.
Rafe: You ever hear the saying "a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing"? These forces of darkness, evil -- whatever you want to call it -- they're cunning.
Lucy: Well -- I'm not afraid.
Rafe: Well, you should be. If you think you can just waltz into their realm and control them, you're wrong.
Lucy: Well, what I think is that good should always win and I think good is a lot stronger. All the good inside of me is a lot, lot stronger than evil. In fact, you know, it's like -- it's like rock, paper, scissors.
Rafe: Excuse me?
Kevin: Just go with it.
Lucy: You know, rock, paper -- the game rock, paper, scissors. Ok, the rock always crushes the scissors, so good always crushes -- ow -- evil.
Rafe: Then tell me where it is.
Lucy: Where what is?
Rafe: This evil presence you conjured up, because it's still here in this room.
Lucy: I know that. It all of a sudden got very crowded feeling in here. It's -- let me see, it's around here. I know it's here somewhere. It's here.
Rafe: Uh-huh. You don't have a clue, do you?
Lucy: Well, I didn't say I knew exactly where it was.
Rafe: Or what it can do.
Kevin: What do you mean, exactly?
Rafe: Once you invite evil in --
Lucy: It can kill you.
Livvie's voice: Caleb. Oh, Caleb, I want you.
Jack: Where are you? Don't let him touch you!
Jack: Livvie, wait!
Livvie's voice: You'll never be able to find me. You can't find someone who doesn't want to be found.
Jack: No, don't you do this. Don't go to him. No, I love you! Don't go to him!
Livvie: You can't hurt the people I love.
Caleb: Oh, why not? [Southern accent] vengeance is mine, sayeth the lord! [Normal voice] and if it's good enough for the man stairs, it's good enough for me.
Livvie: And now I know that deep inside, a part of you is good. There was a part of you that understood forgiveness.
Caleb: Are you talking about Michael? I'm sorry to disappoint you, sweetheart, but my weaker half has permanently left the building.
Livvie: Then what are you going to do?
Caleb: Well, that's the beauty of it. I'm not going to lift a finger. Your friends will hurt themselves.
Livvie: No, they wouldn't do that.
Caleb: Still underestimating me? I'm going to give your friends just enough lead to hang themselves by their precious human emotions.
Livvie: My friends will fight you.
Caleb: They'll destroy themselves. I'll sprinkle just a little seed of suspicion, let them start to doubt themselves and each other. And then I知 just going to sit back and watch the show.
Livvie: Don't do this. Getting revenge won't change what happened to you.
Caleb: Oh, on the contrary. I'll grow stronger as those around you grow weaker. Then I値l be back, in the flesh, hungry as hell.
Livvie: Well, I'll warn everyone.
Caleb: Sorry, my love, I can't let you spoil the fun. I'm going to have to stop you from opening that oh-so-pretty mouth of yours. Livvie: No, stay away from me! Stay away! Of all the so-called "complete" boxed dinners out there,
Eve: Wow. That's some lightning out there. Thunder's loud enough to wake the dead.
Ian: It's just a storm. And that's just a saying, ok? Besides, I like storms like this.
Eve: You do?
Ian: Mm-hmm. Because the more scared you get, the tighter you hold on to me.
Eve: Tonight was wonderful. It's a homecoming I will never forget. Oh!
Ian: Ok. See what I mean?
Eve: Don't ever stop holding me. Don't ever stop loving me, Thornhart. Oh!
Ian: What was that?
Eve: I don't know. Sounded like lightning hit the house.
Lucy: Doc --
Kevin: Lucy. Listen, Rafe, I know you have all these special powers and all, but I have to tell you your bedside manner could use an adjustment.
Lucy: Um, yeah. Cousin, you're sort of scaring us half to death.
Rafe: I didn't mean to scare you, just warn you because I care about you, Lucy. I want you to be safe.
Lucy: Thanks. Ok. Forces of evil can kill you. Lesson learned, ok?
Kevin: Yeah, yeah, but you did say that there's still some evil floating around in here?
Lucy: Yeah, so how do we find it?
Kevin: And more to the point, how do we get rid of it?
Rafe: Be very still. Listen with your whole body. Let the vibration ride over you.
Lucy: Doc? Do you feel that?
Kevin: I -- I feel something, something pretty unsettling.
Lucy: I feel it. Oh, Rafe, I feel it. Ok, so now what do we do? Do we get out of here? Do we run like hell?
Rafe: No. Hold your ground, center yourself, and evoke the good. Never the evil, Lucy. Never the evil.
Rafe: You have no power here. Love and goodness are stronger than you.
Jack: Livvie? Livvie!
Jack: Caleb got you. Oh, god, be safe. No!
Livvie: This time you won't win. I'll tell everyone what you're planning.
Caleb: You can't stop me, Olivia. Because this little conversation ain't going in the scrapbook. You'll have no memory of ever talking to me.
Livvie: I won't forget this because I am not under your spell this time.
Caleb: Whatever you say. But soon I値l be stronger than ever, and then you'll come back to me. After all, I still owe you a honeymoon.
Caleb: You're my bride. You think I'd let a little thing like death come between us? We'll have our child, and then everything will be as it was meant to be.
Livvie: No. No. You won't use me to hurt another person again.
Caleb: You are so beautiful. It's only a matter of time before we're together again -- for eternity.
Livvie: No. No.
Livvie: No! No!
Jack: Hey, livvie. Livvie, livvie, wake up. It's ok. Wake up.
Livvie: Oh, god. I was dreaming.
Jack: Yeah. We both had nightmares. Must have been the storm, but you're safe, it's ok.
Livvie: Oh, jack, it was terrible. It was terrible.
Jack: Just tell me your dream.
Livvie: I -- I don't remember it. I -- I was so sure -- it -- it just felt so important, but I don't remember it at all. Just hold me, Jack, please.
Jack: It's ok, it's ok.
Livvie: Hold me. Please, jack.
