By John

Livvie: Why make things worse? Jamal told you not to come.

Jack: Look, you know that whole Alison thing -- you know, me kissing her was a stupid misunderstanding.

Livvie: Jamal knows that, Jack.

Jack: And I'm not going to let it wreck our friendship.

Livvie: Jack, would you listen to me? Jamal is your friend. He didn't want you to come because you've been sick and not because of Alison.

Jack: Livvie, I'm staying, all right? If you want to go home, that's fine.

Livvie: Oh! Jack, what are you trying to prove?

Jack: Jamal needs my help, all right, even if he's too proud to admit it. Now the question is, where the hell is he?

Sam: Hi, Jack.

Zach: Where's Jamal? Suiting up?

Jack: I haven't seen him.

Zach: What are you talking about?

Jack: I don't know where he's at, Zach. What part of that do you not understand?

Zach: If Jamal doesn't show, you're going to have that cycle shop all to yourself. Nobody crosses me.

Jack: Hey, Zach, relax. We've still got time before the race starts.

Zach: Check the bike area. See if Jamal's hanging there, huh?

Jack: Yeah.

Livvie: Where could they be?

Jack: I don't know. But we've got to find them fast.

Alison: Yeah, I did it, and I'm glad.

Jamal: Glad? Glad? Ali, what are you crazy, throwing away my keys like that, huh? What are you trying to do to me?

Alison: Correction. What I am trying to do for you and for myself is save your life. That's what.

Jamal: I've got to be back at the starting area. Ali, where's my cell phone?

Alison: Right next to mine back at the tent, where I left it.

Jamal: You're proud of yourself, aren't you?

Alison: As a matter of fact, yeah. Look, Jamal, when that guy asked you to wear that black armband today for the rider that was killed --

Jamal: Just help me look, Ali.

Alison: That is what clinched it for me. You are not riding in this race.

Jamal: Ali, you have overstepped way too far this time. You have no idea, Ali, what you've done.

[Knock on door]

Michael: Eve?

Eve: Michael. Come on in.

Michael: Thank you.

Eve: I was just imagining what life could have been like had things gone differently. My husband and I would be rocking our baby to sleep in this beautiful cradle that you made. It's lovely.

Michael: I'm glad you like it. I was just wondering if you'd chosen a destination yet.

Eve: Wow, here's your hat. What's your hurry?

Michael: Oh, I don't mean to rush you.

Eve: Oh, come on. Shame on you, Father Michael. You know the church frowns on priests telling even the smallest little lies. That's ok. I understand. I know that you need your space. And I need to find out what I'm going to do with my life next. I just need to find out where to go.

Michael: I know this is a difficult decision for you, so I took the liberty of doing a little research. Seems like a beautiful place.

Eve: The Appalachians. "Bounds Corners." Gee, I like the name of that.

Michael: It's a little village in this little valley. Green hills. Very peaceful. Low crime rate.

Eve: Economically depressed.

Michael: The community's kind of cut off from the rest of the world. There's no highway for miles. The people are money poor. But from what I've read, in everything that expands the heart and soul, they're rich. It's a perfect place for you and your baby to flourish.

Eve: And you think they need me at their clinic?

Michael: Well, they've been praying for a doctor for a long time. The only doctor they have travels 150 miles from Wheeling once a month.

Eve: Oh, that's not good, not at all.

Michael: This lady here, Edna Hall. She's the president of the clinic. That's her number.

Eve: Edna Hall. Looks like you've got yourself a doctor. Well, if she gives me the green light, I think I can catch a flight tonight.

Ian: Come on, Eve.

Karen: Frank? No Frank. Nellie.

Frank's Voice: The prince comes across this contraption. Kind of a time machine, only it didn't really look like a time machine. More like a piece of junk from a long time ago. The prince convinced the queen he came from the future. He pleaded with her to help him set things right, put them back on their proper path. The young queen was scared for she knew this would mean sending the prince back to 2001.

Karen's Voice: So did he do it? Did he get her to help him?

Frank's Voice: He told the queen if she did this, she would never be alone.

Rhonda's Voice: He was there. He used to talk to me. He was there when Carolyn died. He used to tell me that I had my whole life ahead of me, and, you know, when I was feeling sadder than I ever felt in my whole life, he gave me hope, and he told me that I wouldn't always feel this alone.

Frank's Voice: It worked. I did it. You're here. You're really here. Oh, I love that laugh. I love that face. Those -- those lips. That nose. I love you.

Karen's Voice: I love you, too.

Frank's Voice: Oh, say it again.

Karen's Voice: I love you, too.

Frank's Voice: You don't know how good it is to hear your voice.

Karen's Voice: Frank?

Frank's Voice: What?

Karen's Voice: You're acting like you haven't seen me in years.

Frank's Voice: If you only knew.

Karen: Did he really do it? Did Frank go back in time? Do you have some sort of magic, Nellie?

Eve: Ok, so I will let you know as soon as I hear anything from Edna Hall.

Michael: Ok.

Eve: Michael? Thanks again -- for everything.

Michael: You're welcome, Eve.

Eve's Voice: "My dearest Ian, this is without a doubt the most difficult thing I've ever done. While it's not the first time I've walked away from everything, it is the first time I've had to leave my heart behind."

[Ian sighs]

Eve's Voice: "I can't bear being near you and feeling I'm part of you, yet knowing that we can't be together. So, goodbye, Ian."

Ian: Come on, Eve. Where are you? I'm running around in circles.

Michael: Perhaps I can help you.

Jamal: Stop.

Alison: Watch it!

Jamal: I don't need keys to start this. Ok, I'll just splice a couple of wires together, and I'm out of here.

Alison: Jamal, please don't do this!

Jamal: Ali, they're going to be lowering the flag in a little while. I've got to be there. Stop it.

Alison: Why?

Jamal: Look, because I said I would, ok? I gave them my word.

Alison: To that scum, Zach?

Jamal: It is one race, ok? That's it. Just one.

Alison: No! No, it's not. This isn't about Zach, ok? You love these machines. You love the power that they hold, all right? It turns you on. And you're a good racer, too. You're almost too good.

Jamal: Ali -- Ali! Ali, give -- damn it, Ali. Look, I wouldn't race if you didn't want me to.

Alison: So then, I don't want you to.

Jamal: You know I've got to be out there today. Somebody's going to get hurt if I don't race. All right, come on, you know that.

Alison: I'll go get your keys.

Livvie: Alison, when you or Jamal get this message, could you please call me on my cell?

Jack: He's nowhere, and his bike's nowhere around.

Livvie: Oh! Jamal's voice mail. Great. And neither of them have their cell phones turned on.

Jack: Because they're right here.

Livvie: Ok. So Jamal and Alison were here.

Jack: Why would they leave?

Livvie: And why would they just ditch their cell phones?

Jack: Well, I will let you know when I find out. Come on.

Livvie: Oh, no, you don't. No.

Jack: Livvie, something is really wrong here, all right? And I want you out of here.

Livvie: And leave you to deal with this alone? Uh-uh. You are not well. I'm not leaving you Jack, no.

Jack: Look, this is not up for debate. You're out of here right now.

Livvie: No!

Jack: Now.

Zach: She's not. This is my party, Jackie-boy. Nobody goes till I say so.

Karen: Mary, hi.

Mary: Hi.

Karen: I was looking for Frank.

Mary: Well, if you find him, will you tell him it's never too late for spring cleaning? Do you believe this mess? My son the pack rat. You know, and I thought these pictures were lost or thrown away or something, and look at them. They're here. Are you -- are you ok? Should you be out this soon after surgery?

Karen: I'm fine. I really need to see Frank.

Mary: I can see that in your eyes. Look, he's going to kill me for showing this, but look at this picture of Frank in his Superman cape -- made out of a beach towel -- protecting his little brother, Joe. Aren't they the cutest?

Karen: Oh, that is so cute.

Mary: Look at this.

Karen: Oh. You know, it must be nice to have all those memories on film. Yeah, I wish my mom and I had more photos. You know, you knew my mom in the old days, didn't you? I mean, before I was born.

Mary: I sure did. Why, I've known her since she was a teenager. Poor darling. She was so devastated when her sister died. I was afraid she'd never recover.

Karen: You know, she mentioned a young man, a stranger in town, that was very kind to her back then. In fact, she credited him for helping her through most of her grief. A handsome young man. Early 30s, dark. Do you remember someone like that?

Mary: Yeah. He came here to the house once. We had a nice chat in the kitchen. I remember that. And he told me that he'd made a mistake that he had to fix to get back to the woman he loved.

Karen: Did he mention her name?

Mary: No, no. But I think the mistake involved your mother in some way, but I -- you know what? I can't remember anything else. Oh, you know what? I left my cell phone in the car. I'm expecting a call from Victor. I'm going to leave these here. I'll be right back.

Karen: That's ridiculous. Frank's story can't be true.

Ian: I was just walking near here, and I thought I'd sit and think for a while.

Michael: Where are you headed?

Ian: I wish I knew.

Michael: May I offer any assistance? At the very least, I think you'll find me an accomplished listener.

Ian: Well, talk's not going to do it. I have to get out there as soon as possible.

Eve: Ah, I'll mail it from the airport.

Michael: Often what we're seeking is within our grasp. We just have to allow ourselves to see it.

Ian: I'll keep that in mind, Father.

Michael: Can you delay your search for a few minutes? Allow me to bring you a glass of water.

Ian: I could use a drink. But -- but I have to keep looking.

Alison: I was so sure that the keys were over here. You hate me, don't you?

Jamal: Yes.

Alison: Look, Jamal, I only did it, ok, because I love you so much, and racing is so dangerous.

Jamal: Got to get these wires back in place.

Alison: I was just trying to keep you safe.

Jamal: Splice these.

Alison: Listen, I was just trying to keep you safe, ok? I figured that once the race started, and you weren't there, we could go back to Zach's tent, and -- and --

Jamal: And what, Spunky, hmm?

Alison: I don't know, ok? I'm sorry. This isn't like some majorly thought-out strategy. I was just trying to save you.

Jamal: All right, I know. I know that, baby.

Alison: I've done nothing but screw up ever since I took Zach's money out of that post office box.

Jamal: You did that for us and the business. Ok, Zach's the bad guy. Not you.

Alison: Ok, so then you're not mad at me, right? All right, all right. So then you're mad at me. But do you still love me?

Jamal: What do you think? Huh? All right. Let's see if we can pull this out of the fire.

[Engine starts]

Jack: Livvie and I don't take orders from you, man. So if you want to yank some chains, whistle over your guard dogs. We'll be in touch.

Zach: Baby, your boyfriend's got suicidal tendencies.

Jack: Livvie's not your baby.

Zach: She's this close to not being yours, either.

Jack: Yeah, well, you think you can take me without your dogs?

Zach: With one hand behind my back.

Jack: Bring it on, Blondie.

Sam: Hey, get a grip and stick to business. Now, you've got to ride in Jamal's place.

Zach: I'm not getting busted for carrying a fortune in hot diamonds across the border.

Sam: Well, someone's got to.

Livvie: Jack, these guys will kill you.

Zach: Sam tells me you ride pretty good.

Jack: Yeah? So?

Zach: So congratulations on your promotion. You're racing for Jamal.

Livvie: No, he's never even raced before.

Jack: Like I'd even work for you.

Zach: Yeah, I know.

Jack: Let her go!

Zach: Hey, take a deep breath, Jackie-boy. Weigh the pros and cons, huh? Suit up. Keep an eye on things here. Make sure Jack doesn't become a hero.

Livvie: Yeah. Ok, we have to do something.

Jack: You're right.

Man: Will you quit the yakking?

Jack: Yeah, well, we're done yakking. I'm going to get ready to win this race.

Livvie: What?

Jack: It's going to be all right.

Livvie: But, Jack, you can't --

Jack: Shh.

Sam: Come on, Jack. You've got more important things to do.

Jack: Hey, don't worry. Ok?

Zach: It's time.

Sam: You guys go on. I'll keep Muffin entertained.

Zach: Keep an eye on things here.

Man: My pleasure.

Zach: All right.

Jack: Hey. Look at me. It's going to be ok.

Livvie: Ok.

Jack: I love you very, very, very much.

Livvie: Jack, wait! Don't! Jack!

Jack: What the hell, man? Why are you scratching me?

Zach: Take care of it.

Jack: Now I don't have a chance of winning.

Zach: It's not winning that matters. It's how you play the game.

Jack: Hey, what the hell are they doing?

Zach: All you've got to do is finish.

Jack: Oh, I see. They examine the bikes back at the beginning of the race, and now, suddenly, losing's ok. What are they putting in my bike, Zach? Drugs? I'm not smuggling anything across that border.

Zach: Look, you want to be a hero? You want to save your girl's life? Then get back on the bike and finish the race.

Eve: Hi. Come on in. You were right. Edna Hall needs me, like, yesterday at that clinic.

Michael: Ah. Then do you have time for a last meal together? I've prepared lunch.

Eve: Oh, that sounds fantastic. Arranging my new life has made me ravenous.

Michael: I'll miss you, Eve.

Eve: Oh, no. Don't make me cry, ok? I'll mess up my mascara and it's ugly when that happens. Ok, I just want to finish up a little -- couple things here, and then I'll -- I'll come meet you.

Michael: Good.

Eve: I'll always love you, Ian. Goodbye.

Ian: I'm open to all suggestions.

Michael: In that case, I suggest you stay for lunch.

Ian: Thanks for your hospitality. But I've already stayed too long.

Michael: You'll need nourishment to continue your search. Please, stay.

Karen: Time travel. Yeah, right. No, not again. It's just like at the auction. Maybe this isn't a coincidence. You want me to stay. Maybe there is some kind of magic here.

>> Stay tune

>> on the next "Port Charles" --

Livvie: Jack is racing for you.

Jamal: What? He wasn't even supposed to be here.

Sam: Well, look who decided to show up.

Jamal: What are you thinking? Jack's never raced before. You know what can happen.

Karen: Did it really happen? I mean, the whole time travel thing. Did it really happen to you and me?
