Fox: What is it? What's bothering Viki?

Esme: I don't know, uh, maybe she had a bad dream?

Fox: Viki, everything's ok. I'm here, your aunt Esme's here.

Esme: Oh.

Fox: Think she heard us talking about her parents being away?

Esme: No, she was sleeping. Um, what is it, sweetie? You can tell your auntie Esme what's wrong. Are you frightened? Oh, well, there's nothing to be frightened of. You heard Uncle Fox. Um, we're safe here, and besides we have such a big, strong man to protect us.

Fox: See? What is it? Why did she point at me? What's she saying? Why is she so frightened? Is it me? Did I scare her?

Sheridan: Well, Crane security said Luis was headed this way. Where is he? I have to find him and tell him that Marty is alive. Once he hears that, everything will change.

Sheridan: Oh, no. Oh, God.

Pretty: What you said you were going to do, I mean how do we -- how do we get started?

Alistair: Well, I want you to call, uh, Fancy and get her to come back here to the mansion.

Pretty: Grandfather, what you have planned for her is so extreme.

Alistair: Yeah, but don't you realize, she took away your happiness. She betrayed me, and I just think it's fair for us to destroy her happiness. Now, here. Now, call your sister and have her come back home. That way we'll get the little bitch that ruined your life.

Pretty: I'll do it for you, Grandfather.

Alistair: No, no, do it for yourself. Haven't you ever thought of revenge, hmm?

Pretty: Yes. I'll make Fancy come home and pay for what she did to me.

Alistair: Exactly, exactly.

Man: I'm sorry for your loss, Mrs. Harris-Crane.

Whitney: Please, just call me Mrs. Harris. I'm done with the Cranes, done once and for all.

Doctor: This must be a difficult time for you. I'm sorry to make you come back down here to the morgue, but you know bureaucrats. I have to get a positive I.D. from the next of kin so I can finish filling out the death certificate and the police report. You're sure you're ok doing this?

Whitney: Yeah, yeah, I mean, I was there when it happened, so I already saw Chad. Yeah, go ahead. It's fine.

Rebecca: Gwen, now you listen to me. You get your butt back here to the hospital. I don't care how enamored you are of this new guy. You said you love Ethan. Now, come back here and fight for him, you have -- Gwen? Gwen, what -- oh, she hung up on me.

Theresa: He heard me, Mama, and he understands.

Pilar: Yeah, finally.

Theresa: He understands that he has a son and he's not angry with me, and he forgives me for not telling him sooner.

Pilar: Well, mija, I don't think you should read so much into it --

Theresa: No, Mama, as soon as this poison is out of his system and as soon as he wakes up from his coma, we're going to be a family. I mean, all of our dreams are going to come true.

Esme: Uh-huh, uh-huh, oh, honey, I've woken up in strange places plenty of times. You know, sometimes there is a total stranger lying next to you. It's a great way to make new friends.

Fox: Ok, uh, what is it? What is she saying?

Esme: Viki doesn't want to be left alone in a strange place.

Fox: Well, I can't really blame you for that, kiddo, but you're not in a strange place. All right, I'll tell you what. If you like, we can stick around here until you fall asleep.

Esme: Yeah, she doesn't want to be left alone.

Fox: Ok, well, I'll tell you what, even better, I'll leave the two of you guys alone because I'm probably a stranger to you, so --

Sheridan: Oh, God. Oh, no. No, just don't look. Once Luis hears what I have to say, he will dump Fancy in a New York minute. 'Cause Marty's alive, and once Luis hears that, he will come back to me. He will help me find our son. Yeah.

Alistair: Is it ringing?

Pretty: Uh, I haven't hit send yet.

Alistair: Well, just do it, then.

Pretty: Grandfather.

Alistair: Oh, I -- I'm sorry, sweetheart, just do it. Just call Fancy.

Pretty: Ok.

Alistair: And that way you can, uh, end up hurting her as much as she's hurt you, hmm?

[Cell phone rings]

Luis: Ignore it.

Fancy: Mm, wait, wait --

Luis: Wha -- mm.

Fancy: It's Pretty.

Luis: All the more reason to ignore it.

Fancy: No, Luis, we have to sort things out. I have to answer it.

Luis: Mm, ok. Whatever happens, know that I'm here for you.

Fancy: Pretty?

Pretty: Uh, hey, Fance, it's me.

Fancy: Um, what do you want?

Pretty: Uh, don't worry, ok? I just -- I need to see you right away.

Doctor: Mrs. Harris.

Whitney: Yeah.

Doctor: The I.D., is that Chad Harris-Crane?

Whitney: Um, yeah, yeah, that's him. Good-looking guy, wasn't he?

Doctor: I read the report. He must have died very quickly.

Whitney: Yeah, yeah, he did.

Doctor: I'll finish all the paperwork and file the death certificate. I assume you'll want to make an arrangement for burial or cremation? Do you already have a funeral home we could work with?

Whitney: Um, I don't, I don't. I guess I haven't had time to really, you know, work all that stuff out. I'm sorry.

Doctor: No rush. I'll hold the body while you make your plans.

Whitney: Oh, thank you.

Doctor: Would you like to be alone with him?

Whitney: Um, yeah, yeah, sure I would.

Doctor: Take all the time you need.

Whitney: Ok.

Simone: Whit, I just heard. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.

Whitney: [Sobs]

Simone: You ok? You'll be ok.

Whitney: [Sobs]

Rebecca: Voicemail? Oh, come on, Gwen, pick up. Honey, you don't understand what's happening here. When Ethan wakes up, Theresa could take him from you in a heartbeat.

Theresa: I don't know why I was so scared, you know? I mean, Ethan heard me, he understands, and he forgives me.

Pilar: Oh, mija, I hope you're right.

Theresa: I'm right, Mom, I am.

Pilar: Well, it would do my heart a lot of good to see you two settled.

Theresa: Yeah, thank you. Mine, too, and, um, my son is going to be just as happy as Ethan and I are.

Whitney: [Sobs]

Simone: You ok?

Whitney: [Sobs]

Simone: Whitney, I know what you're going through, honey. When I lost Rae, I thought that my world would end, and I didn't even have a chance to say goodbye.

Whitney: I can't do this. I -- I can't do this. I have to keep it together, I have to be strong.

Simone: No, you have to let someone else be strong for a change. You're so self-contained.

Whitney: I am. I did get a chance to say goodbye. Even though it went by so fast, I can barely even remember it, but he told me that he loved me and, um, that was it and then he was gone.

Simone: It's like a piece of your heart's missing.

Whitney: No, it's a little bit different for me because, see, my heart was already broken because Chad had betrayed me, you know? And I hadn't really healed from that because I had so much anger and, um, he begged me so many times to forgive him, but, you know, I wouldn't listen.

Simone: If you had, you think you would've taken him back?

Whitney: No, God, no. After what he did with Vincent, no, there's no way.

Simone: Then forgive him now. It's not too late. He's probably watching us, right now.

Whitney: I have to admit that a part of me of course still loves him. You know, and I always will. And I tried to forgive him, but I just can't, not after what he did. I can't.

Simone: Whitney, give yourself a chance. I mean, maybe in time you'll forgive him.

Whitney: Maybe, but, you know, I wouldn't count on it. You know, I was angry at Chad, but, you know, I didn't want him to die, you know? And now there's this big hole in my life where he used to be and I'm going to have two children that are going to grow up without a father.

Simone: But you're not alone. You have me, you have Mom, you have Dad.

Whitney: I know. Thanks. What am I going to do, you know, how am I even going to tell Miles? Oh, God.

Simone: Maybe he won't understand.

Whitney: Oh, God, no, Miles, he understands plenty. He asks about his dad every day.

Simone: Miles is upstairs with a nurse.

Whitney: He is? You brought him here?

Simone: Yeah, I thought you would want to see him, but I didn't want to bring him...here.

Whitney: Oh, no, no, that's ok. That's good. Thank you. I should probably, um, get ready to, you know, to talk to him and to tell him.

Simone: If you want me to be here with you when you tell him, I will.

Whitney: Thank you.

Simone: [Sobs] It's ok.

Whitney: [Sobs] Thanks.

Simone: Oh, it's ok. [Sniffles] It's ok, it's ok.

Whitney: Ok.

Simone: So, you ready? Ok.

Whitney: [Sobs]

Alistair: Just get Fancy to come home to meet her fate, all right?

Fancy: Um, Pretty, I have to say I'm surprised to hear from you.

Pretty: I know, but, look, I need to see you as soon as possible.

Fancy: She wants to see me. Um, is there anything left to talk about? You hate me, I get that, you tried to ruin my life with Luis because you blame me for the accident.

Pretty: It wasn't an -- look, that's what we need to talk about, ok? When we were in Grandfather's library, I said a lot of terrible things.

Fancy: You didn't just say things, you just about killed me.

Pretty: I know. Look, I'm sorry. Can -- can you help me just make this work? Can't we get back to who we were before the country club?

Fancy: Oh, yes, yes, that's all I've ever wanted. [Whispers] She wants to make peace.

Luis: Sounds like a good sign.

Fancy: Yeah.

Luis: I'll get it.

Fancy: Um, Pretty, hold on a second.

Luis: Sheridan, what are you doing here, huh? Um, it's not a good time.

Sheridan: Well, yeah. We have to talk, Luis.

Luis: Uh, no, actually, Sheridan, we don't have to talk. There's nothing left to say.

Fancy: I'll second that motion.

Fox: Uh, it's ok. I'm not going to go anywhere, so, uh, you can let go.

Esme: Ahem. Really? Um, ok. Viki would like it if you would read to her.

Fox: Ok.

Esme: Ok.

Fox: Ok, I've never read this one, but my sisters sure liked it when they were teenagers. Here I go, "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte. "Chapter one, 1801. I have just returned from a visit to my landlord, the solitary neighbor that I shall be troubled with. This is certainly a beautiful country."

Fancy: You're not wanted here.

Luis: Sheridan, Fancy's right. You should probably leave.

Sheridan: Not until you hear what I have to say. It's important.

Luis: Sheridan, no. Do you remember your promise? I'm with Ffancy now.

Fancy: You know what? Go ahead, Luis. Pretty's on hold and it sounds like I need to talk to her. She's very insistent. Um, I'll just take a few minutes to get dressed, and Aunt Sheridan can talk to you to her heart's content.

Luis: Just give us a second. What are you doing?

Fancy: Look, Luis, it's an opportunity. You can use this time while I'm gone to try to get through to her, try to make a final break with her.

Luis: Yeah, I don't think so. She doesn't listen to anything I have to say.

Fancy: Well, you better keep trying. I don't want to have to murder her.

Luis: Well, if you say so. Sheridan, come on in.

Fancy: Pretty? Um, I'll be home shortly, ok?

Pretty: I can't wait. I'll see you soon.

Alistair: Bravo. I have to give credit where credit is due. You are quite a good young actress.

Alistair's voice: Pity about the face. Revivals of "the elephant man" are few and far between.

Pretty: I could do anything to get what I want.

Alistair: My kind of Crane. And, uh, you know what to do with this?

Pretty: Just what you told me.

Alistair: Good.

Whitney: Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned, I know. My heart is so hard and full of such anger and rage, but I need your help right now. [Sobs] I need you to give me the strength to tell my son the truth about his father. And I need to please ask for guidance because I don't know what I'm supposed to do with the rest of my life.

Whitney: Yeah, yeah, I was thinking the same thing, too.

Whitney: Hey. [Chuckles] There's my little man. Oh, honey. Hey, tweetie. Oh, he's so sleepy.

Simone: [Chuckles]

Whitney: Yeah. Ok. Um, Mommy has something to tell you, ok? But you know what? I know that you're so strong and brave, you can handle anything. But just remember that I love you. Ok? I love you very much.

Simone: So do I and Grandma and Grandpa -- they love you, too.

Whitney: Yeah and Daddy. I mean, your daddy loves you very much, honey. He loves you so, so much and that love never goes away, but sometimes people do. I'm afraid, um, you're not going to see your daddy anymore, at least not for a very, very long time because he's gone to heaven to live with the angels, ok?

Rebecca: Voicemail again. Uh, Gwen, what are you doing throwing over a wonderful man like Ethan for some new guy? I mean, you certainly didn't learn that kind of behavior from me -- ok, well maybe you did, but -- [Groans]

Theresa: He's going to wake up soon, right, Mama?

Pilar: Yes, he will, mija, just don't rush him.

Theresa: I know, I just -- oh, God, you're going to be so thrilled to know that you have a son. That's what you've always wanted, isn't it?

Theresa: My God, Mama, his eyes, did you see that? They -- they just moved.

Ethan: I have -- I have -- a son. I -- I have a son.

Theresa: Mama, he's talking.

Pilar: Yes.

Theresa: And he heard me. He knows he has a son.

Pilar: Oh, thank God.

Whitney: Thank you.

Whitney: My poor baby, you're never going to get to know your father, but it's going to be ok. It's going to be ok. You, me, and Miles, we're going to make it and we're going to get through this somehow and we're going to be happy, ok? I promise you we will. I know what I have to do for my children, um... just please, give me the strength to carry on alone, please.

[Sheridan sighs]

Luis: [Ahem] Well, that was very trusting of Fancy to leave us alone.

Sheridan: Yeah, wasn't it?

Luis: Yeah, actually, I thought it was very nice of her. We were rather content on our own.

Sheridan: I was right. I knew you'd see things my way once you knew the truth about Marty. Our son is alive and well and we belong together, just the three of us.

Luis: For always.

Sheridan: Mm-hmm. Yes.

Luis: So, what's so urgent you had to talk to me about?

Sheridan: Um, I -- I need your help.

Luis: To do what?

Sheridan: To find Marty.

Pretty: Well, there it is.

Fancy: Uh, you did all this for me?

Pretty: Yes. It's just the first step in showing you how sorry I am. I mean, you can't go on being enemies forever.

Fancy: Well, I was never your enemy.

Pretty: Um, I -- I thought best to put it in here so that, you know, we wouldn't get disturbed. I almost chose the princess room, but even the new, improved Pretty has her own limits. God, I was so jealous of you when Grandfather built it. It is gorgeous and he'd never done anything like that for me.

Fancy: Well, being Grandfather's pet didn't do me any good in the long run, though, did it?

Pretty: No, I guess it didn't. Anyway, you know, let's just put all of that jealousy and anger behind us. We're sisters.

Fancy: Oh, I can't tell you how happy I am to hear you say that.

Pretty: Well, it's taken a long time to get to that point. I can't go around licking my old wounds forever. I forgive you for, ahem, the accident. Do you forgive me?

Fancy: Of course I forgive you. I've worried about you for all these years. What a relief. Oh, I am so happy.

Pretty: Uh, mm, me too. [Chuckles]

Fancy: [Chuckles]

Pretty: Ok, um, so, it's late so I have decaf tea and decaf coffee or lemonade.

Fancy: Oh --

Pretty: Take your pick.

Fancy: Lemonade, lemonade, please. Yeah, I can get it.

Pretty: No, no, you sit down and relax. You're my guest tonight.

Fancy: Ok. Do you remember that nanny who drank lemonade from the thermos morning, noon, and night?

Pretty: Yeah, uh-huh. I remember stealing it, too, and taking it to the summer house so that we could drink it.

Fancy: And it had vodka in it. I think that was the first time I ever drank alcohol.

Pretty: Yeah, um, God, Mother had her out of the estate in less than an hour.

Fancy: Mm-hmm.

Pretty: What was her name again?

Fancy: Um, Miss Grannick.

Pretty: Ah.

Fancy: Right?

Pretty: Yes.

Fancy: No wonder she was always so nice. [Laughter]

Pretty: Oh, shall we make a toast?

Fancy: Yeah, sounds like a plan.

Pretty: Crane sisters, both of us finally getting what we deserve. Bottoms up.

Fancy: Thank you, Pretty. I feel so touched.

Alistair: You'll be more than touched, Fancy. You'll be out for good. [Chuckles]

Fox: "Wuthering Heights is the name of Mr. Heathcliff's dwelling. 'Wuthering' being a significant provincial adjective" --

Viki: [Yawns]

Fox: Would you like me to stop?

Esme: No, she'd like you to continue and so would I.

Fox: You do?

Esme: Absolutely. Going to bed with a man to read a book is a whole new experience for me. Oh, um, what I meant was that, uh, I never realized how entertaining a good book and good company could be.

Fox: Ok, then, continuing -- "'Wuthering' being a significant provincial adjective" --

Rebecca: Oh, this is awful. I mean, Ethan is talking. This is a huge disaster. While Gwen is off playing with her boy toy, Theresa is closing the deal with Ethan.

Ethan: I -- I have a son.

Theresa: Do you hear this? A son, yes, this is all he is thinking about, Mama, our son.

Whitney: Hey.

Theresa: Hi. How are you feeling, honey?

Whitney: Mm, well, you know, as well is to be expected. Um, Simone brought Miles up here so that I could talk to him, you know, tell him about his dad. He's too young to understand any of this, but, you know, Chad's gone, you know?

Pilar: Sorry, sweetheart, so sorry. Oh.

Whitney: Well, you know, I feel kind of bad. You know, Chad and I were going to get a divorce, but --

Pilar: Well, you're still his wife.

Whitney: Yeah, yeah, I'm just trying to stay strong, strong as I can.

Pilar: Well, if there's anything you need -- anything at all, just ask, ok?

Whitney: Thanks. Um, Ethan, how's he doing?

Theresa: Actually, he hasn't woken up yet, but, uh, the doctors -- they said that he will soon, and, Whitney, I did it. I told him the truth. I told him about our son and, uh, he heard me, he did. He understands. I mean, I said, "Ethan, if you forgive me, squeeze my hand."

Whitney: Mm-hmm?

Theresa: And he did it and he squeezed my hand. Isn't that amazing?

Whitney: He did? Wow, yeah, that is great, honey.

Theresa: Yeah. I mean, I don't mean to be, like, this happy right now 'cause of what's going on --

Whitney: No, no, sweetheart, it's ok. I mean, we should treasure every moment we possibly can with the people that we love.

Theresa: Ok.

Pretty: [Clears throat] So, uh, what should we toast to next?

Fancy: To happiness.

Pretty: To happiness. [Laughter]

Alistair: Oh, come on, Fancy, drink it. Not getting anywhere at this rate.

Pretty: What's wrong? Don't you like the lemonade?

Fancy: Oh, yeah, it's delicious. It's just a little sour.

Pretty: Oh, let me get you some sugar.

Fancy: Oh no, it's fine. I love my lemonade tart.

Pretty: All right, then drink it up because nothing's better than lemonade on a hot night. [Laughter]

Fancy: Mm.

Pretty: You know what else? Oh, you should try one of these cakes. There's lemon curd inside. Your favorite.

Fancy: Oh, you really have thought of everything.

Pretty: You bet I did.

Fancy: Thank you for this, Pretty. For years I would fantasize that we could still do things like this together, and now, here we are, and I know it's uncommon to say so in this family, but I love you and I look forward to being best friends again for the rest of our lives. [Chuckles]

Alistair: [Chuckles] Fancy, Fancy, Fancy, life as you know it is going to come to a sudden and drastic end. [Clicks his tongue] [Chuckles] Great.

Luis: Sheridan, I couldn't have possibly heard you correctly.

Sheridan: No, no, do not look at me like that. I need your help to find Marty.

Luis: Sheridan, I know that you miss Marty. I miss Marty, too, ok? I've seen that train go down in that ravine, it's going to be permanently etched into my mind --

Sheridan: You know what, you are not listening to me --

Luis: Oh, Sheridan, you need to stop. Stop. I know that it is not normal for a parent to outlive their child, but it's been over a year now. Marty is dead. I saw him die with my own eyes. I know that it's hard for you to accept. It's hard for me to accept, but you need to and you need to move on, in so many ways.

Sheridan: You know what, if only you would listen --

Luis: No, no, just stop. Stop, because I don't want to hear it. I can't hear it anymore. Marty is gone, ok? And it broke my heart. You're scaring me right now. You are. Yeah, ever since he died, it's like you've become unhinged. I -- listen, you told me that you were going to seek some professional help and I think that now is the time --

Sheridan: No, no, Luis --

Luis: Now, Sheridan, stop, please --

Sheridan: Listen to me, you are making a mistake, ok? You are making a huge mistake. Do not throw me out because I know that you love Marty as much as I do. We have to find him. We have to.

Fox: "Mr. Heathcliff forms a singular contrast to his abode and style of living. He's a dark-skinned gypsy in aspect; in dress and manners a gentleman: That is" -- what is it, Viki? Can you address me directly? I won't bite, I promise.

Esme: You think?

Fox: What?

Esme: Viki thinks you look like her father.

Fox: Well, um, I take that as a compliment. Thank you.

Fancy: Ah.

Pretty: I'm so happy we've reconciled. Yeah, maybe we could make a habit of these little late-night dessert parties.

Fancy: Mm, just your company is fine. These cakes are pure butter. Uh.

Pretty: [Laughs]

Fancy: Remember the good old days when we never had to think about that stuff?

Pretty: Mm-hmm. You know, there's more lemonade, if you want some?

Fancy: Um, no, that's all right. I'm fine. Oh, sorry, excuse me, I'm just so sleepy all of a sudden.

Pretty: Oh, well, I'm not surprised. You had a big day.

Fancy: Yeah.

Pretty's voice: And you're about to have an even bigger night.

Alistair: You better hurry up, doctor, the patient is getting very sleepy. She should be ready for the procedure by the time you get here. You do what you're paid to do, is that clear? Thank you. So, my traitorous granddaughter will never know what hit her. [Chuckles] Great, really great. It's working out. [Laughs]

Luis: Look, Sheridan, I'm trying to be polite here, but I cannot keep doing this, ok? This argument is pointless. Marty is dead. I have accepted that. Now it is time for you to accept that and move on. Now, if you will please excuse me --

Sheridan: No, no, I will not let you leave this room until you listen to me.

Luis: I have listened to you, over and over and over and it is the same thing again and again. Marty is dead and I am with Fancy. Can I be any more blunt than that, ok? You need to move on.

Sheridan: But we don't have to.

Luis: In fact, I already have. It's your turn.

Sheridan: Now get this through your thick skull, Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald. Marty is not dead. He wasn't killed in that train crash in Italy. Our son is alive and I know that for a fact.

Whitney: I am so happy for you. You're finally getting everything that you've always wanted.

Theresa: Yeah. Once Ethan regains consciousness, I'm going to tell him every last detail and, you know, we're going to start our new life together with the children for the rest of our lives.

Whitney: Ha, and I'm not the one to say "I told you so" or anything, but --

Theresa: I know, you've already been telling me for months and months. Tell him the truth --

Pilar: Well, she is not the only one who's told you for months. [Laughter]

Pilar: What am I still doing here? I need to go get Little Ethan. Oh, sweetheart.

Ethan: I have to get better. I -- I have a son. I have a son.

Pilar: Uh, I have no time for you, witch.

Rebecca: Wait, where are you going?

Pilar: I'm going home to get Little Ethan because I'm sure that the first thing Theresa wants Ethan to see when he finally wakes up is his wife and son, and then he'll know that he's surrounded by the people that love him the most in the world.

Rebecca: Oh, Gwen, you're a fool. Theresa has finally won the war.
