Pilar: I never dreamed that two of my children would be marrying in prison.

Eve: She looks beautiful, Pilar, and very happy.

Pilar: I only wish that Luis was starting his life with Fancy tonight. Instead, after he marries the woman that he loves, they're going to put him to death -- and for crimes he never committed.

Eve: Pilar, there's something that I need to tell you.

Pilar: What is it, Eve?

Eve: I'm so sorry about what is going to happen to Luis.

Pilar: Of course you are. Everyone here, everyone who knows my son, knows he is not a murderer. It's not your fault he's being railroaded by this -- this sick, violent individual that committed these heinous crimes.

Eve: Yes.

Pilar: Don't take it upon yourself, Eve. I know if there were anything that you could do to save Luis from this terrible travesty of justice, you would.

Edna: Oh!

Maria: Come on, Mommy. [Whimpers]

Kay: Shh. How are you holding up?

Miguel: I don't know. I think I'm -- I'm a little shocked just thinking that my brother's sentenced to death in a few hours.

Kay: Just try not to think about that right now. I know it's hard, but just try to think about how happy he is right now, you know, just minutes away from marrying Fancy.

Miguel: [Chuckles] You know what? You're right. I only wish he could feel the way I feel when I look at you and Maria -- so full of hope and dreams and plans for our future together.

Kay: Well, sweetheart, the next wedding you're going to be at, it's gonna be Mommy and Daddy's wedding, ok? That's all we'll think about tonight. We're just gonna think about good things, not bad things.

Tabitha: Have you two stopped spitting feathers yet?

Edna: Well, I sure hope so. No more magic for me, thank you very much.

Norma: I second that emotion, love bug.

Tabitha: Perhaps you two could keep your hands off each other long enough to appreciate my little Endora. Doesn't she make the sweetest flower girl?

Norma: She is a cute kid. Hey, maybe she could be our flower girl when we get hitched, huh? Better yet, she could carry Daddy's skull so he can give me away.

Edna: Giving me chills, Norma. Very romantic.

Tabitha: Yeah, you're giving me chills -- chills of a different kind. Oh, put him away.

Sam: Your turn.

Fancy: Oh, my God.

Pretty: God had nothing to do with what you did to me. Take a good look at your handiwork. You did this to me. You turned your own sister into a monster.

Fancy: Oh, Pretty --

Sheridan: Perfect. Once Luis sees what his angelic bride-to-be is capable of, there won't be any wedding.

Pretty: Don't you dare turn away from me. I don't get to, so neither do you. Take a good long hard look at what you did to me. Memorize it. I want the horror that I live with every day to be burned into your memory forever.

Luis: Where is she?

Paloma: Luis, you know her. It's just like her to make the grandest entrance possible. She'll show up in a second.

Luis: Yeah.

Kay: Come on, Fancy. Let's get this show on the road. This is not the night to keep your brother waiting.

Miguel: Well, one thing we know for sure, she's not gonna bail out on Luis now.

Maria: Mommy.

Miguel: Hey. Luis gave her plenty of chances to back out on it, but she wants to marry him before he --

[Sighs]

Julian: Not to worry, Pilar. If she's anything like her mother, she's trying to make sure her makeup's on just right.

Pilar: That does sound like Ivy.

Theresa: What do you think is keeping her?

Ethan: She's just back there trying to look perfect, that's all. Nothing's going to keep her from marrying your brother tonight. Just like nothing's going to keep me from marrying you as soon as possible.

{Luis: I mean it, sis. You have got to tell Ethan that little Ethan is his son. Don't make the same mistake that Ivy made with Sam about Ethan. Ethan will never forgive you.}

Edna: [Sniffs] Oh!

Norma: Where the dickens is this flirty Crane?

Edna: [Laughs] It's not "flirty," it's Fancy.

Norma: What kind of name is that for a high-tone Crane babe? Does she have a sister called "schmancy"?

[Edna laughs and snorts]

Tabitha: Actually, there is another sister. Her name is Pretty.

Edna: Pretty?

Norma: You're pulling my leg, Tabby.

Tabitha: No, I'm not. She left Harmony years ago, and she hasn't even been back for a visit.

Edna: Ooh, sounds like there's a juicy back-story there.

Tabitha: Yes, there is. And if you'll excuse the pun, it ain't pretty.

Pretty: Don't you dare turn away from me. Don't you dare look away from the nightmare that I have to live with every hour of every day of my life. Take a good long look, sister of mine.

Fancy: It was an accident, Pretty. I never meant for this to happen.

Pretty: Oh, don't kid yourself. I was there. I remember. It was that summer we spent practically every day at the club. You had so many boyfriends, you couldn't even remember their names. Then Harrison showed up. He was new in town, and unlike the others, immune to your dubious charms. That made you mad. You tried everything you knew -- all the games, flirtations, all the tricks -- and nothing. He treated you like the empty-headed, shallow party girl you were, which made you furious. But what really sent you over the edge was finding out that he liked me. You caught us kissing, and you couldn't stand it. After he left, that's when it happened. The club maintenance man had just finished cleaning out the pool for the day, and you goaded me into a fight. I remember you hitting me, and me hitting you back. That's when you picked up the container of pool chemicals and threw it into my face. You wanted it to make me ugly. You wanted to be sure that no other man ever preferred me to you. That's how selfish you are. That's how you destroyed the life of your own sister.

Tabitha: Hi, sweetheart.

Edna: Mm.

Norma: Don't tell me you have to go again, love muffin.

Edna: Well, honey, it's either that or a fresh diaper.

Norma: Let's find you the can.

Edna: Oh, good idea.

Luis: Think Fancy's ok?

Sam: Of course she is.

Luis: Maybe she's not coming. Maybe she realized it's not the smartest thing to marry a guy who's only got a few hours left to live.

Paloma: That's not what happened.

Noah: Don't worry, man, she'll be here.

Paloma: Of course she will. She adores you. Maybe she lost track of time, that's -- that's all.

Luis: Yeah.

Vincent: Sounds like it's heating up in there.

Sheridan: Mm-hmm. Finally. You see, this -- this is why I wanted you to bring Pretty home. Because once Luis sees what Fancy is capable of, he won't marry her.

Pretty: You couldn't tolerate any man being more attracted to me than you. So you made sure that it would never happen again. You made me so ugly that no one could ever love me.

Fancy: You make it sound like I did it on purpose. That is not how it happened. You were choking me. Your eyes were full of rage. Your hands were around my neck, squeezing tighter and tighter. I couldn't breathe. I could barely see. I thought I was gonna die. So I reached for the closest thing to hit you with in the hope it would distract you enough to let me go. I didn't know what I was grabbing. I didn't know it was pool chemicals -- anything, just to get you to let me go. I never would have knowingly scarred my own sister. Pretty, please, you must know I never would have done it on purpose. I was just trying to get free of you because you were so mad. I love you. I loved you then, and I love you now.

Pretty: Don't touch me. Don't ever touch me again. [Sighs] It's tough to look at, isn't it? Everyone winces the same way when they see my whole face. People recoil from me, cross the street, can't meet my eyes. Children point and scream in terror at me, calling me "lady Frankenstein." And all men, young and old alike, even scruffy bums in the gutter, shrink away from me. So congratulations, Fancy. You wanted to make sure that no man would ever choose me over you? You succeeded.

Fancy: No, that's not --

Pretty: But you know what? The thing is, now I'm back. And the least I can do is repay the gesture. You stole my happiness, now I'm gonna take yours. So either you call off this wedding to Luis, or so help me, I will tell him the whole, ugly story from start to finish. What's it gonna be?

Sheridan: If Luis has to die tonight, at least he'll die loving me, the way it was always meant to be.

Norma: Everything ok, dumpling?

Edna: Oh, better, even though I have seen better restrooms in gas stations.

Norma: What do you expect? It's a prison.

Edna: Oh, this reminds me of the asylum where we were so unfairly imprisoned.

Norma: As if either of us ever had any mental health issues.

Edna: Yeah.

[Norma humming]

Guard: No, it's not possible.

Second Guard: What's the matter with you?

Norma: [Off-key] I've written a letter to Daddy. Dear Daddy, I miss you so awfully. I wish you could see all my curls

Guard: No, it can't be.

[Norma hums]

Edna: It calms me down, your singing, Norma.

Norma: That's why I do it, cupcake.

Edna: Aw.

Guard: I was right. It is them.

Norma: Oh, the guard -- he's from the funny farm. Run!

Edna: No, no!

Guard: Go, go!

Pilar: There's no sign of her yet, Father.

Father Lonigan: Don't worry, Pilar. Once the ceremony starts, it will go quickly. Fancy will be your new daughter-in-law in no time. Since we're missing one of our brides --

Luis: Yes, Father, thank you, mine.

Father Lonigan: We could begin Noah and Paloma's wedding.

Paloma: Oh, no, no, Father. It's all right. We wanted this to be a double wedding, so we can wait.

Theresa: Actually, I can go check on Fancy, just let her know we're waiting.

Luis: Great, thanks, Theresa.

Theresa: Of course.

Luis: Maybe she just lost track of time.

Sam: I'm sure that's exactly what it is.

Tabitha: Oh, you've been such a patient little girl, Endora. Mummy's so proud of you.

Julian: So is Daddy.

Tabitha: Shh! Don't let anyone hear you're her father.

Julian: Don't blow a gasket, Tabitha. I'm just happy to be able to spend a bit of time with her. She means the world to me, especially now.

Tabitha: Yes, I can imagine. Endora, I want you to go back to your place, sweet pea, all right? Mummy and Julian have some grown-up stuff to talk about here.

Tabitha: Well, never mind about that, dear. Go along back. Stand with Paloma in your place. Good girl. So you've met your son, I take it.

Julian: How did you know?

Tabitha: Remember that day you asked me to look in my magic bowl and see if I could catch a glimpse of your offspring with Eve? Well, I saw him that day.

Julian: But you said you didn't see anything.

Tabitha: Well, I didn't know how to tell you. I mean, you'd set your hopes so high.

Julian: The truth is, I probably wouldn't have believed you if you had told me.

Tabitha: Why, because of his proclivities?

Julian: What does that mean?

Tabitha: Well, he's a serial killer.

Julian: Quiet!

Tabitha: Well, I'll be quiet, Julian, but what about you? You know, you could stop Luis from being executed tonight if you told everyone here what you know, couldn't you?

Fancy: Luis is going to be executed in the next few hours. It's not his fault you were scarred. So be as angry with me as you want, but don't take it out on him.

Pretty: I'm not. The way I see it, I'm saving the poor sap from making one last final mistake. So you either find an excuse to cancel the happy nups, or Luis finds out the truth about the woman he so wrongly believes is an angel.

Fancy: Ok, why can't you hear what I'm telling you, Pretty? It was a terrible, tragic accident, but I would never wish that upon you or anyone else. I think about what happened every day of my life.

Pretty: Don't confuse your guilt with what I have to live with for the rest of my life.

Fancy: Just listen to me, Pretty. I know I was self-centered and reckless back then. I was a shallow, empty-headed party girl, but that's not who I am anymore.

Pretty: Oh, please.

Fancy: No, really. Ask anyone, I've changed. I even went through the police academy in the hope becoming a cop.

Pretty: Now, that's rich. Next you're going to be signing yourself up for some fancy, exclusive rehab, hoping that you'll absolve yourself of all your past mistakes. It's not gonna work. Your sins run too deep.

Fancy: Ok, Pretty, I'm begging you. I'm begging you, please don't ruin this night for me. Let me marry Luis. If not for me, for him. Let him spend the last few hours on earth happy, please.

Sheridan: No, no, don't listen to her, Pretty. Hold your ground.

Fancy: Whatever you want to do to me after tonight, after Luis dies, go ahead. Just don't do it now. Please, don't hurt him because you hate me. Have a heart.

Pretty: Don't you dare turn this around and accuse me of being heartless. You don't give a damn about Luis any more than you ever gave a damn about me. This is just like the old days, when you couldn't bear the idea of losing the affections of any man that you wanted.

Fancy: That is not what this is.

Pretty: Save it for someone who cares, ok, because I don't. You robbed me of any chance of ever having a normal life. Thanks to you, I won't ever know what it's like to have a man wrap his arms around me and kiss me good night, or get married and have children. You stole all of those dreams away from me that day you burned me with those chemicals.

Fancy: But I told you, it was an --

Pretty: "Accident." I don't believe it. So now you are going to get a taste of what it's like to feel completely alone. You are gonna know how it feels to have no control over your future. And you are gonna know how I have felt every day since that horrible day by the pool.

[Knock at door]

Theresa: Fancy, it's me, Theresa. Are you ok? We're just waiting for you to walk down the aisle.

Fancy: Luis' sister.

Pretty: Good. She can be the first one to see what you did to me. She is never gonna let her brother marry someone as cold and heartless as you.

Norma: Hurry, Edna!

Edna: What do you think I'm doing?

Norma: Go to the left!

Edna: Ok.

Norma: I said left!

Edna: Oh, ok. Oh!

Norma: I think we lost 'em.

Edna: Oh, boy, that was close.

Guard: Gotcha!

[Edna and Norma scream]

Guard: Back to the funny farm, girls.

[Edna and Norma screaming]

Tabitha: Now that you know your own son and not Luis committed those horrible crimes, what are you gonna do about it?

Julian: Well, I don't know. Eve wanted to turn him in to the police. But, I mean, no matter what he's done, he's still our son.

Tabitha: As you know, I'm a witch. And I have caused more pain and suffering than you or even your cruel father could possibly fathom. But this situation is not cut and dried, it isn't black and white.

Julian: Tell me something I don't know already.

Tabitha: I'm just trying to help you, Julian. We share a child together. I don't want you spending the rest of your life in inner turmoil because you made the wrong decision here.

Julian: But then, what should I do?

Tabitha: [Sighs] Until I became a mother, I didn't understand the incredible bond between a parent and a child. Everything inside you just wants to protect them and keep them from harm.

Julian: That's what's killing me. I mean, how do I hurt this son of mine more than he's already been hurt?

Tabitha: Are you forgetting another child of yours, Julian?

Julian: What, Endora?

Tabitha: No. The daughter you came here tonight to see get married -- Fancy.

Julian: Fancy?

Tabitha: Yes. If Fancy found out that you let Luis die, knowing who really committed the heinous crimes that he's accused of -- I mean, she would hate you forever, wouldn't she? Now, so your decision is, which of your children are you going to protect -- your son with Eve, the serial killer, or your daughter, Fancy?

Miguel: Listen, how's Luis doing?

Sam: Well, you know, as you'd expect, he's pretty nervous.

Miguel: I'm gonna go check on him, all right?

Kay: Ok.

Sam: Hey, hey.

Noah: Sorry to interrupt, but Paloma wanted a moment alone with Luis.

Kay: Yeah, so did Miguel. I'm really happy for you and Paloma.

Noah: Thank you. Yeah, she's an angel. I just wish Mom was here.

Sam: Well, you know what I think son? I think that Grace is here with us right now in spirit. I know she's very proud of you.

Luis: Well, Theresa said she was going to check on Fancy.

Pilar: It's ok, mijo. I'm sure she'll be here any minute. She's probably taking extra time to look beautiful for the man she's about to marry.

Luis: I couldn't love her more if she were wearing a burlap bag.

Fancy: Don't, Pretty. Don't.

Theresa: Fancy, did you say something, because I couldn't hear you.

Sheridan: Because she wasn't talking to you, Theresa. She was talking to her disfigured sister.

Fancy: You can't do this.

Theresa: Ok, you know what? I'm coming in.

Fancy: Theresa, no!

Theresa: Ok, are you all right in there?

Fancy: I'm fine. I know I'm late.

Theresa: It's just, you know Noah is already standing up with Paloma, and Luis -- he's just waiting for you to walk down the aisle.

Fancy: I'll be right there. I promise. I'm just -- I'm just finishing my makeup. I ruined my mascara and I have to redo it.

Theresa: Can I help you?

Fancy: No. No, but thanks. Just, please, tell everyone I'll be right there.

Theresa: Ok.

Fancy: Thank you. Thank you for not ruining my night. This means so much to me.

Pretty: I can see that.

Fancy: Well, I better go. We'll talk more after the ceremony, I promise.

Pretty: Uh, I'm not staying here. I'm going with you.

Fancy: But if you show yourself, you'll be recognized and then everyone will know.

Pretty: Exactly. I haven't changed my mind, Fancy. If you try to go through with the ceremony, I'll show Luis what you did to me.

Fancy: But just now you could have given me away to Theresa, Luis' sister.

Pretty: Why blow the surprise on the sister when it will be so much more effective with Luis himself? I want him to be the first one to see what his bride-not-to-be is capable of. [Sighs]

Edna: [Screams] Tell me this isn't happening!

Norma: Don't I wish. I left Daddy's skull on my seat at the wedding ceremony. So help me if someone steals him, I'll just -- I don't know what I'll do!

Guard: Ah, this ought to hold you until I call the asylum to come and get you.

Norma: I'm not going back there.

Edna: Me, either. Place is full of kook-a-boos and crazies.

Norma: Certifiable nut jobs. It's dangerous in there. [Gasps] There's Tabitha's little girl.

Edna: We need your help, Endora.

Guard: This is rich -- asking some dumb little kid to come to your rescue. Didn't I say they were crazy?

Second Guard: Yeah.

Guard: What the -- hey!

Second Guard: Let us down!

First Guard: What're you doing?

Guards: Whoa!

Norma: Good job, Endora.

Edna: That will teach those meanies. You show 'em!

Guard: Hey! Hey!

Guard: Let me out of here!

Second Guard: You had to go and lock the looney birds up. Nice going. I can't even move my arms.

First Guard: I can't even find mine.

Norma: I gotta get back to Daddy's skull.

Edna : No, no, no Normy! Come on, this is too good to miss! Look at 'em.

Guard: Hey, Harry, this is candy.

Harry: Yeah, I know it's candy, you lame-brain.

Guard: No, I mean, it's really tasty candy. Try some.

Harry: Yeah, it's not bad.

Guard: Mm-hmm.

Harry: Yeah.

Norma: They love it.

Edna: Yeah, too much. If they keep eating it, they will get out of there.

Norma: Uh-oh.

Guard: Hey, what're we doing? Hey! Help! Help!

[Muffled screams]

Tabitha: Which child are you going to protect, Julian -- your son by Eve or your daughter, Fancy?

Julian: [Stammers] It's not that simple. I have to consider the company and other family issues. It's an excruciating choice.

Tabitha: Yes. Well, let's just hope you make the right decision for all our sakes.

Theresa: Fancy's on her way. She just needs a minute.

Luis: Oh, my God. Thank God. I thought something happened to her. How does she look?

Theresa: Actually, I just talked to her through the door. But, Luis, I'm sure she looks beautiful. She's probably just a little nervous, you know, like anybody would be.

Luis: Yeah, I guess I'm a little nervous, too.

[Laughter]

Theresa: It's ok.

Luis: Yeah, I know this isn't the norm, but -- I guess nothing about this is -- but I'm gonna walk her in, ok?

Theresa: Ok, yeah.

Luis: All right.

Noah: Hey. In a few minutes, you're gonna become Mrs. Noah Bennett.

Paloma: I can't wait.

Ethan: Is Fancy ok?

Theresa: Yeah, yeah, she's ok. Actually, Luis just went to go get her himself, so --

Ethan: I don't blame him. Don't keep me waiting at my wedding, please, ok?

Theresa: After everything that we've been through, don't you worry.

Ethan: Well, I won't worry anymore once that ring is on your finger, then I won't worry anymore. Then I'll know that there's nothing that can keep us apart.

Fancy: I was so sure you understood. I thought you changed your mind.

Pretty: Hardly. I've been dreaming about this for years. I never knew when or where I'd actually be able to settle the score with you but, tonight's about as perfect an opportunity as there could be.

[Scoffs] Such arrogance to think I'd actually let you marry Luis.

Fancy: Well, I was hoping --

Pretty: Hoping? Don't you talk to me about hope. Every time I visited a different plastic surgeon, I "hoped" they would be able to fix me. I "hoped" that they would be able to repair the damage you did to me. But all of them said exactly the same thing -- your skin was burned too badly, that the scars ran too deep, that I would have to learn to live like this, that I would be like this forever. Can you imagine what it's like to look like this? Especially when your name's Pretty? It's like some sick, sadistic joke.

Fancy: I'm so, so sorry. You're right. I couldn't possibly imagine what you've gone through. But, please, believe me when I tell you it was an accident. Please, don't go out of your way to hurt me this way. Just let me marry Luis.

[Knock at door]

Luis: Fancy, it's me. You all right? Listen, I know that it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the ceremony, but I figure how much more bad luck can we really have, right? Maybe it's a case of last minute jitters, but I really need to see you to calm my nerves, ok?

Sheridan: This is it. This is the moment I've been waiting for.

Norma: You darling, little witchling. Edna and I will never forget your help.

Edna: That will teach you guys from messing with us and calling our dear friend Tabitha's daughter a dumb kid.

[Guards muffled speech]

Norma: What's that he's saying, Edna?

Edna: Gee, Normy, I have no idea. And I don't think that anybody else will, either. [Laughs]

Guard: What the --

Edna: Uh-oh.

Norma: Rats!

Guard: What're you doing in here?

Second Guard: Get us out of here.

First Guard: What are you tangled up in? It looks like cotton candy.

Second Guard: It's too long a story.

Harry: That little girl you saw, she somehow did this.

Guard: Yeah, right. You two are in big trouble.

Second Guard: No, no, really! You gotta go after them. Get the two old hags, take them back to the nut house.

First Guard: All right.

Guards: Hey, let us out of here! Let us out of here now!

Norma: Such a darling, little girl.

Edna: Yeah. Nothing like my Bethy.

Norma: Oh.

Guard: Mm, thanks.

Tabitha: Where the dickens is Endora? [Gasps] Oh, she better not be up to any more magic. She promised.

Miguel: Hey, Mama. Please, there's no need to pray, ok? Fancy's going to be here any second.

Pilar: I'm praying that your brother's life will be spared, Miguel. I'm praying for a miracle.

Kay: Someone has to know who the killer is. They've got to come forward before it's too late.

Eve: Oh, God.

Ethan: I'm really surprised that my mother's not here for Fancy.

Theresa: Maybe that's why she's stalling, because she wants her mom to be here.

Ethan: Maybe, but, they've never been that close.

Sam: Well, you know, it's a shame. I can't imagine Grace ever missing one of her children's weddings.

Ethan: Grace and Ivy are two different people.

Sam: Yeah, don't I know that. I'll never forgive her for keeping us both in the dark. I mean, if I would have known you were my son --

Ethan: Dad, look. I'll never forgive her for that either, all right? I can't. There's some lies that you can't forgive no matter how much time passes, right?

Paloma: [Sighs] Now I'm starting to worry about Fancy.

Noah: Hey, don't worry, ok? There's nothing in the world that will stop Fancy from marrying Luis tonight.

Luis: Ok, ready or not, here I come.

Sheridan: This is it. Once Luis sees Pretty and hears how she got that way, no more Fancy. No more wedding.

Fancy: Pretty, no.

Luis: Hey!

Fancy: Don't even try to come in here, Luis. I don't care what you say about bad luck, I'm not tempting fate.

Luis: Oh, Fancy, don't be silly. Really, we can't have any worse luck than we already have.

Fancy: Um, you know what? We can, because I still believe you're gonna get a last minute reprieve tonight, and I don't want to do anything to jeopardize that, so I promise I'll be right out.

Luis: Fancy, you sound funny -- strange funny.

Fancy: Not at all. I'm just finishing my makeup.

Luis: Please, come on. You're beautiful just the way you are.

Pretty: Unlike your sister, who no amount of cover-up in the world can make beautiful again.

Fancy: Shh. Just -- Luis? Um, honey, go on back to the rec room, and I promise I'll be right out.

Luis: All right. Please, don't take too long because -- well, you know why, ok? I love you.

Fancy: I love you too, Luis.

[Pretty gags]

Sheridan: Damn it, Pretty. Get out here and show Luis what Fancy has done. Show him your awful scar.

Fancy: Pretty, please don't do this to me. Don't stop me from marrying Luis.

Pretty: Sorry, sis. Turnabout's fair play. You stole my chance at happiness, now I'm gonna take yours. Luis is gonna go to his death thanking me for saving him from marrying such a cruel, heartless, vicious, bitch.

On the Next Passions:

Tabitha: Something big is about to happen. I can feel it in my bones.

Fancy: I can't marry you, Luis. I'm sorry, but I can't.

Fox: You're a dead man, Miguel.
