Jessica: Ouch! Spike, let go of me. You're hurting me.

Spike: Oh, I'm sorry, baby. Sorry about that.

Jessica: You know, we should really go back and find Kay and Miguel.

Jessica: I feel awful about what I did.  I could've helped them by telling them the truth, that I saw the Charity impostor at the diner.

Spike: Honey, you don't want to do that.

Jessica: Yes, I do. After what Kay did to hurt our family, I wanted to hurt her right back. But I realized I can't blame her for my mom's death. Come on, I have to tell Kay the truth. Ow!

Spike: No, you can't do that.

Miguel: Damn him.

Julian: What the hell are you still doing here? Haven't you caused enough trouble already?

Miguel: I have to talk to Kay.

Julian: Well, somehow, I don't think she wants to talk to you.

Tabitha: Show me. Show me the evil. Nothing. It's murky. My bowl of vision is murky. I can't see a damn thing. I can't see what's going on in town. One thing's for sure -- someone's up to no good, and that is my job. And you're no help. Shape up, Charlie, or I just might trade you in on one of those new Teflon jobs I saw in the witches' convention. Very useful. They double up as crock-pots. Yeah, and they can whip up a lovely cup of cauldron cappuccino in no time.

Tabitha: It's no good you whining. You either do what you're supposed to do or I know some demons who could use a new salad bowl. How dare that  interloper cause so much pain and heartache without my approval. When I find out who it is, I'll give them a witch slap up the side of the head.

Sheridan: You are not making any sense.

Fancy: Oh, yes, I am. It was you, wasn't it, Aunt Sheridan? In my princess room, you were the one who attacked Luis and then attacked me. God, he has these memories of making love to me, but it was you, wasn't it? That's how you got the sample of his semen, and you planted it in me to incriminate Luis.

Sheridan: That is absolutely crazy. I love you. I would never hurt you.

Fancy: No, you do not love me. You must be the one who attacked me that night. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Sheridan: Fancy Crane, you are out of your mind.

Luis: What is going on in here?

Fancy: She's the attacker. She raped me and she raped you. Arrest her, Luis!

Theresa: I'm going to be damned for what I'm doing, intentionally hurting the people I love. I hurt Ethan when I told him that I wanted to marry Jared after all. And when all this is over and I'm with Ethan, I'm going to hurt Jared. What choice do I have? I have to concentrate on saving my brothers.

Theresa: What if it's the blackmailer again?

Person: You've been a naughty girl. Don't even think of trying to deceive me or else you'll pay, big time. In fact, you already have.

Theresa: "What are you talking about? Who are you, and why are you doing this to me?"

Theresa: "Why are you sending me this address? What are you trying to tell me?"

Jessica: Spike, let go of me. I have to talk to Kay.

Spike: No, you can't.

Jessica: Why do you care whether I tell Kay the truth about seeing the fake Charity?

{Julian: I mean it, Spike, don't you fail me on this. You make sure that Jessica doesn't tell Kay or anyone else about what she saw.

Spike: Hey, have I introduced you to my little friend? Don't worry. I'll make sure my little wife keeps her mouth shut. Maybe even permanently. }

Jessica: Spike, you don't give a damn about Kay. Why don't you want me to tell her the truth?

Spike: Who says I don't care about my sister-in-law? She's a sweet girl. In fact, after hearing about what she did to her own parents, I said that's a girl after my own heart right there.

Jessica: Very funny.

Spike: Come on, baby, really, I mean, you don't want to hurt her, do you? Listen, think about this, you tell her the truth, she's gonna realize she married the wrong guy.  She's gonna get all bent out of shape, baby.

Jessica: It hurts to find out you married the wrong man.

Spike: Yeah, right. What'd you say?

Jessica: Nothing, nothing, ok. Just -- just, listen, Kay loves Miguel. She deserves to know the truth, that Fox schemed and connived to get her to marry him. She deserves to have a man that loves her honestly, who doesn't lie to her or deceive her. All women do.

Spike: Baby, I feel bad. I think the booze is clouding your little brain there, sweetheart. Listen to me, honey -- look, honey, Kay is very vindictive, ok? She probably hates you for not telling her sooner.

Jessica: But I did tell her. I saw the fake Charity and --

Spike: Hey, you know what, you know what, you know what -- I bet you she hates you even more because she didn't believe you in the first place. Yeah, and then she's going to want to get her revenge. Think about it. She'll probably turn the rest of your family against you. And God knows, baby, they hate you enough as it is. You want them to completely turn against you, honey? Hmm?

Kay: My mom always used to kiss it to make it feel better.

Fox: It works.

Kay: Oh, I am so glad you're doing better. Gosh, as your wife, I was the one who had to decide whether or not you should go into surgery. Dr. Russell said it was really risky. I was so scared. I never prayed so hard in my entire life.

Fox: I couldn't have made it through all of this if I didn't know in my heart I had you to come back to.

Kay: Well, I'm here, and I will always be here for you.

Julian: You still think Kay wants to speak with you?

Miguel: Ok, fine, I'm going to go. But I'll be back. This isn't over.

Julian: You're right, it's not over. Before it is, you see, there will be a trial where you'll be found guilty and you'll be sent to prison for the rest of your life for the attempted murder of my son.

Miguel: I did not hit Fox with my car.

Julian: Well, let's just let a jury decide that, shall we? But I've found in my experience that most juries in Harmony always decide the way the Crane family wishes.

Eve: Miguel? Miguel?

Simone: Rae, why did you leave me? I don't think I can go on without you. It's just -- it's just too hard.

Luis: Whoa, what are you saying?

Fancy: Sheridan is the one who attacked you, Luis. She violated you, then attacked me, and then planted your DNA in me.

Luis: That's impossible.

Sheridan: Fancy, you have gone mad. How could you think I would possibly do such a horrible thing?

Fancy: It's true! Sheridan is the attacker! She has to be!

Luis: Sheridan is your aunt. She loves you.

Fancy: Oh, the hell she does. She is her father's daughter through and through. She only cares about herself, and she's every bit as cruel and greedy and manipulative as my father and my grandfather.

Luis: Ok, Fancy, for argument's sake, let's say you're right. Why would Sheridan do such a hideous thing?

Fancy: To keep us apart, Luis. She can't have you, but it kills her to let anyone else have you either.

Theresa: "What is this address? What are you trying to tell me?"

Person: Someone you love is dying to see you. Hurry, Theresa. Hurry.

Theresa: "Is it Ethan? Is Ethan in danger?"

Person: Why are you wasting your time talking to a computer? Run, Theresa. Run.

Person: You'd better hurry, Theresa, or your lover boy is going to die.

Jessica: Ok, what am I supposed to do? I mean, if I don't tell Kay the truth, then my sister will live her life with a man who has tricked and deceived her. If I do tell Kay what I know, then she might hate me forever.

Spike: That's right, baby, that's right. You got it, you got it. Just leave it alone. Honey, two words -- never, never meddle. I mean, that's what I always say. Listen, Kay married Fox under her own free will, honey. I mean, nobody held a knife to her throat. Now, you mind your own business. Just leave your good-for-nothing sister alone, ok, sweetheart?

Jessica: No, I can't do that.

Spike: Whoa, come here, come here.

Jessica: Stop, stop!

Spike: You're not going anywhere, ok?

Jessica: Let go of me, Spike.

Spike: You're my wife and you'll do as I tell you.

Jessica: Oh!

Eve: I'm sorry to interrupt you. How are you feeling, Fox?

Fox: I'm feeling much better now. I think having the love of my life by my side gives me strength.

Eve: Well, I'm glad to hear that, Fox. Kay, would you mind giving us a little time? I need to give Fox an examination.

Kay: Yeah, sure. You know, I'm probably just going to run home and check on Maria, ok?

Fox: Uh, Kay? Do you think you could bring Maria by to see me?

Kay: Right now?

Fox: Yeah, I know it's late, but I miss her. I haven't seen her in so long.

Kay: Um, would that be ok?

Eve: Just as long as it's a brief visit.

Kay: Ok.

Fox: Thanks, doc.

Kay: Ok, I'll be back as soon as I can.

Tabitha: I still can't see a damn thing. It's too muddy. Oh, this is so frustrating. You'd better shape up, buster. I mean, what use are you to me if I can't identify Harmony's attacker, huh?

Miguel: Tabitha what are you doing?

Tabitha: Oh, Miguel. I'm just -- I'm just whipping up some potato salad. I have so many friends who live nearby who just love my potato salad.

Miguel: Did you just hear a dog bark?

Tabitha: Probably some stray. What are you doing here, Miguel? I thought you'd be at the hospital by now or in jail.

Miguel: Thank you, that -- that was nice.

Tabitha: I'm sorry, dear. It just slipped out.

Miguel: You know, if Julian had it his way, I would be in jail, Tabitha. But I swear, I didn't try to kill Fox. You do believe me, right?

Tabitha: Yes, dear, I do. Oh. I fear more than a love triangle has gone awry in Harmony.

Theresa: Hello? Is anyone here?

Theresa: It's Theresa. I'm not frightened of you! Now look, you wanted me to be here. I am here. So you show yourself to me. You tell me what you want!

Spike: I'm sorry, honey, but just no more lip, ok?

Jessica: Ok, ok, just please don't hit me again.

Spike: Honey, it's ok. You got to pull yourself together now, sweetheart. You got to stop feeling so sorry for yourself. Ok? Now, look, we are broke, honey. We got no money for rent. You're going to have to get back to work.

Jessica: What? No, no, Spike, no more, ok? I don't want to start that up again, please.

Spike: Honey, you never stopped. Once a whore, always a whore, honey.

Jessica: I can't.

Spike: You what?

Jessica: But, Spike, it's so cold out.

Spike: Baby, the colder, the better. You see, the fishing boats don't go out when it's this cold. That means there's going to be a lot of lonesome sailors out there looking for someone to help them keep warm. I think you can help them with that, in more ways than one.

Simone: Rae, I -- I can't live without you. And I don't want to.

Simone: Rae. Rae!

Kay: Miguel?

Miguel: Kay. Thank God you're here. Listen, can we just talk, please?

Kay: No, we've said everything there is to say, ok? I'm just here to pick up Maria.

Tabitha: What, at this time of night?

Miguel: Where do you think you're taking our daughter at this hour, Kay?

Kay: Fox would like to see her, and I don't care what time it is. She cheers him up, and he needs some cheering up right now, so --

Miguel: Stay. Please, Kay, stay. Talk to me. I love you, and no matter what's happened, I know you love me, too.

Tabitha: Yep, Kay is in agony. I see the love light in her eyes. Torn between two lovers. Couldn't have planned it better myself.

Kay: Just leave me alone, ok? My husband is very sick. I have to get back to the hospital.

Miguel: I had nothing to do with what's happened to Fox, Kay.

Kay: Well, that's funny, Miguel, because Fox is the only eyewitness, and he says you did.

Fancy: Believe me, Luis, Sheridan is the monster behind everything that has happened. She wants you all to herself. She'll do anything to split us up.

Luis: Um -- I can't believe that she --

Sheridan: I can't either! Fancy is out of her mind. I have everything that I could ever want. I have a husband that I love, Chris. I have our little boy, James. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Fancy: Liar!

Sheridan: I have told Fancy over and over that I am not after you, and she keeps insisting that I am. It is just hateful!

Luis: All right, all right.

Fancy: See? She's doing it again! She knew you were going to try to comfort her!

Luis: Fancy, would you calm down, please, you're not making any sense. Sheridan loves James and Chris and she is happy with them. She has told me many times.

Fancy: Luis, you are truly naive if you believe one word she says. She's an evil predator, a true Crane. She won't stop until she gets everything she wants.

Sheridan: Stop it! You stupid, silly girl! How could you say such hateful, horrible things? You know what? I don't care what you say because I love you. You are my niece. And I have been supportive of your relationship with Luis since the day you asked for my permission. Isn't that right, Luis? Go on and tell her.

Theresa: Who are you? Look, I know you're here. I can hear you breathing. Now you show yourself to me!

Person: Not a chance. Not yet.

Theresa: Why are you sending me these messages? What do you want? Do you want money? Because I can give you whatever you want. Just stop doing this to me. Answer me!  Ah!

Man: Baby, this is money well spent. Come here.

Spike: Well, that sailor ought to keep Jess busy and away from Kay. At the same time, I made a few bucks. Another win-win situation for the Spike man. I'm going to show that Julian who the better businessman is.

Simone: It's so cold out tonight.

Jessica: No, please, please. Please, no, no.

Simone: Who's out there? Is something wrong?

Jessica: Get away from me! I don't want to do this!

Man: Hey, I gave your pimp almost a week's pay.

Jessica: No.

Man: I'm getting my money's worth.

Jessica: No, no.

Simone: Who's out there?

Jessica: Help me, please! Somebody help!

Simone: Oh, my God, is that Jessica? You bastard, get off her!

Miguel: Kay, look at me. Please, you have to believe me.

Kay: No, I don't. I can't. Because of you, my husband is lying in a hospital bed, fighting for his life.

Miguel: It wasn't me, Kay. I wasn't driving that car.

Kay: Well, it was your car. And you're the one who beat him up before it happened. You're the one who said you wished he would crawl off and die. Come on, Miguel, all the evidence is pointing to you. You're going to go to prison. And you know what, I should probably go with you for committing adultery on my wedding night.

Miguel: You know what the real crime in all this is, is that you married Fox in the first place, and the only reason that happened was because he lied to you, Kay.  I love you. You love me, Kay. We belong together.

Kay: No, I belong with my husband, and I need to be there right now. Oh, my God, Miguel, I mean, even if he survives this operation, he's still dying because of that tumor.

Miguel: He's lying, Kay! He doesn't have a tumor!

Kay: Right. Dr. Gasparro found the tumor. Fox is dying, and I can't stand here listening to your lies anymore.

Miguel: I'm not lying!

Kay: Ok.

Miguel: Kay --

Tabitha: Oh, curiouser and curiouser, said Alice.

Eve: All right. I'm done. That didn't hurt much, did it?

Julian: How is he doing?

Eve: He is healing very nicely from the auto accident and the operation. Much more quickly than I would think someone could whose system has been comprised by such a terrible condition.

Julian: Well, he's a Crane. He's always taken very good care of himself.

Fox: I just want to go home.

Eve: Oh, no, no, no, no, Fox.

Fox: "Oh, no, no, no, no, Fox," why? I can have doctors, nurses 24/7 at the mansion for my recuperation.

Eve: Well, the reason that I am so happy about your progress is that it means we can start your treatments.

Fox: What treatments?

Eve: For your tumor.

Fox: Dr. Gasparro said it was inoperable.

Eve: And that's true, but there are several new treatments that if successful could prolong your life, and I know you want to spend as much time with Kay as possible.

Fox: Of course.

Eve: Good, that's settled. We'll start your treatments right away. Fox, you are going to have to be brave. These treatments, they aren't easy for anyone, and they have several nasty side effects.

Julian: Uh, like what?

Eve: Extreme discomfort, even real pain.

Fox: Ok, well, maybe we should just forget about all this.

Eve: No, Fox, you don't have any choice if you want any sort of chance at remission. You're going to have to just be strong and meet your fate head-on. I'm going to get you some information.

Theresa: My God, there's blood all over my hands. Oh, my God. This isn't Ethan. No, no, no, this can't be Ethan. No, no, tell me this isn't Ethan! Oh, my God.

Person: My, Theresa, you do have a one-track mind.

Simone: Get off of her right now, you scum!

Man: Back off, bitch!

Simone: Go, get the hell out of here or I will kill you!

Man: Alright, let me out of here.  Ah!  Ah!

Simone:  Jessica. Jessica, sweetie, are you ok?

Jessica: Yeah, Simone, you shouldn't have done that.

Simone: What, save you from that scum?

Jessica: Spike is going to be really angry.

Simone: Well, good, bring him on. I couldn't care less. I thought you stopped hooking.

Jessica: I did, too.

Simone: Jessica, you cannot let Spike use you like this. You have to stand up for yourself.

Jessica: I don't have much choice, Simone.

Simone: Well, then what the hell am I supposed to do for you, ok? I don't even know why I bother to try to help you. You don't even want help. And it's pointless anyway. I mean, I can't help anybody. I couldn't help Rae.

Jessica: Rae? Simone, what's wrong?

Simone: What's wrong? Rae is dead.

Jessica: Rae -- how?

Simone: She was killed tonight at the Blue Note -- murdered.

Jessica: Oh, Simone, I am so sorry. Did they catch whoever did it?

Simone: Luis did it. I know he did.

Jessica: Luis? I don't think --

Simone: No, no, not you, too. Look, yes, Luis. He did it because he was trying to shut Rae up, because she knew that he was the peeping tom who attacked Fancy.

Jessica: Ok, ok, Simone, whatever you say. I am so sorry. I know how much you love Rae.

Simone: Loved. Loved, Jessica. Rae's dead. She is stone-cold dead. She will never have the chance to live her life like you will. I just -- I just wish that you would wake up and force yourself to change. You are so damned lucky, and you're just too damned stupid to know it.

Julian: There's really no need to begin any sort of treatment now because I'm actually going to fly Fox to Switzerland and begin --

Eve: That's absurd, Julian. Why would you do that?

Julian: Well, the doctors in Switzerland --

Eve: Julian, Harmony Hospital is a top facility for these kinds of treatments. I mean, you know that. Even though you did cut off funding for the hospital, there were still enough Crane grants available for us to enlarge our department. We have the finest equipment and the finest specialists available to help Fox. And I know you want to do what's best for him.

Julian: Oh, yes, of course.

Eve: Good, then it's settled.

Fox: But it's so restful in Switzerland.

Eve: Oh, but, Fox, Kay is here and Maria is here. You wouldn't want to uproot little Maria from everything that's familiar to her, would you, especially when she's about to lose her step-dad?

Fox: Of course not.

Eve: Good, then we'll start your treatments immediately.

Fox: You know, maybe it would be better if Kay and Maria didn't have to see me in this state when I'm so sick.

Eve: That's so brave of you, Fox, but no.

Fox: But I don't think Maria should be around sick people, and I want Kay to remember me as I was, not as --

Eve: Fox, I understand that you're trying to be selfless and you want to spare Kay the emotional trauma of being around you at a time like this. And trust me, I know what you mean because it is no picnic to see a person that you love in pain. But I think that you're going to have to think about your needs. You're going to get a lot of strength from Kay and Maria being with you. And trust me, you are going to need all the strength you can get to get through these treatments. Here's some information I want you to read. I'm going to go and put you on the treatment schedule and make sure we've got a good supply of large-bore needles.

Fox: Ok, this has gone on long enough. Let's put a stop to this. I'm not putting myself through some unnecessary, barbaric treatment.

Julian: Stop it, just lean back and stop whimpering. You're a Crane, for God's sake. We'll figure something out. Or would you prefer to just hand Kay and Maria over to Miguel right now?

Kay: Hello! Look who's here! Look, Maria, it's Fox. Let's go say hi.

Luis: Well, I would say that Sheridan has been supportive of our relationship, even from the beginning. I --

Fancy: Are you blind? Sheridan is a total snake in the grass. She's sweet as pie to you, and then she turns around and treats me like dog-dirt.

Luis: Fancy -- Fancy, listen, I am really sorry that all this terrible stuff has happened to you. I wish that it hadn't. But it did happen.

Fancy: Yes, because of Sheridan. She did it.

Luis: Well, maybe this is just post-traumatic stress talking right now.

Sheridan: Yes. Look, I'm sorry I shouted at you. But would you listen to yourself? I didn't attack you or Luis. I would never hurt you. I couldn't.

Fancy: Just listen to the lies spill out of your mouth like honey.

Sheridan: Fancy! Look, I know we haven't always seen eye to eye, but do you really think that I am capable of the things that you are accusing me of? It's preposterous.

Fancy: Ok, ok, maybe you're right. I don't understand how one woman could do that to another. But it has to be someone!

Sheridan: Well, it's not me, I swear it.

Theresa: Ethan, Ethan, come on, are you all right? Jared? Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Why did you do this to him? He just loved me! He was just trying to help me! Why did you do this? Answer me!

Theresa: No, it's you. You're the killer, aren't you? Aren't you?!

Fox: Hey, kiddo, I missed you so much. She's just as beautiful as her mother is.

Kay: Oh, well, you tell him flattery will get him anywhere.

Eve: Hello, young lady. Somebody's up past her bedtime.

Kay: I know. I'm only going to be in here with her for a second.

Eve: Well, I've got good news for you. You're on the rotation. You're going to start your treatments tomorrow.

Fox: Tomorrow?

Kay: What treatment?

Eve: For his tumor, so that we can keep him with us as long as possible.

Kay: Oh, that's great.

Julian: Isn't it, though?

Eve: Now as I said, these treatments are very hard on the system.

Kay: Oh, he's a strong guy. He can take it.

Eve: I'm sure he can. Did you get a chance to look at any of the side effects of the treatments?

Kay: Should I leave the room?

Eve: No, I think you should stay. It involves you.

Kay: Well, how bad can these side effects be?

Eve: Oh honey, you have no idea.  You know how it goes. we have to poison the tumor so we have to poison the entire body. It's like hitting a pinhead with a sledgehammer. So you're going to experience extreme nausea, sleeplessness, loss of hair, muscle aches. Oh, and then there's the side effect that's most devastating to men, of course, is impotence.

Fox: Imp-- impotence?

Sheridan: I'm relieved to hear that you believe me. Because you're right, no woman would hurt another in the way you've described.

Fancy: Some woman did. Dr. Russell hypnotized both myself and Luis, and we both had a distinct impression the attacker was a woman.

Luis: Yeah.

Sheridan: Well, I find that impossible to believe.

Fancy: You don't believe a word I say about anything. Believe it, Aunt Sheridan.

Tabitha: I have got to find out who it is out there attacking my victims, the citizens of Harmony. Wait a minute, I can see something. Could that be the attacker? Oh, really, it's a bit of pickle from the potato salad. Oh, tarnation. I can't tell if Fancy is right or wrong. I can't even tell if the attacker is a man or a woman. It's got to be one or the other, right?

Jessica: Simone, I am so sorry. I had no idea about Rae.

Simone: Jessica, shut up, ok? I am way too upset to deal with any more of your problems tonight. Just go home. Just not to that rat house of Spike's. Go to your father's house.

Jessica: No, I can't do that.

Simone: Suit yourself.

Jessica: What?

Simone: I mean it, Jessica. I'm done with you, at least for tonight.

Jessica: No, no, hey, Simone. Simone, please don't leave me. Simone! What's going to happen when Spike comes back?

Simone: Paloma, it's Simone. No, no, I don't want to talk about it. Listen, it's Jessica. She's in need of your help, ASAP. She's down here on the wharf.

Jessica: Simone's right. I'm a pathetic loser. Nobody loves me. But why would they?

Man: I love you, Jessica.

Jessica: Ah!

Theresa: Don't die, Jared, ok? Don't die.

Theresa: Yes, this is a medical emergency. I'm -- I'm by the wharf, on an alley right off Broad Street. Yeah, there's a man and, um, he's lost a lot of blood and I think that he could be dead. Ok. Jared, you hold on, ok? Help is coming, all right? Hang in there.

On the Next Passions:

Man: Oh, Jess, you'll never be the same by the time I'm finished with you.

Whitney: Theresa, Jared's been shot, and for all you know, you could be next.

Ethan: I think something really strange is going on around here.
