Nurse: Your husband's in crisis. We're doing all we can do.

Nurse: No family, no one but medical personnel. Your husband's flatlined and we're trying to revive him now.

Miguel: Hey, what happened?

Kay: What are you doing here?

Miguel: Look, you ran out so upset, I wanted to see what was wrong.

Miguel: What the hell's happening?

Kay: He's flatlined. That means his heart stopped. He might not make it.

Ivy: Have you no shame, no decency at all? Your husband is fighting for his life not five feet away, and you're out here making out with the man who may have killed him. What is wrong with you, Kay?

Noah: He is out cold.

Paloma: Guess I didn't realize my own strength when I tackled him. I did it, Noah. I got the creep who raped Fancy. Now my brother can be cleared of all those false charges.

Noah: You're amazing. I still can't believe you took this guy out single-handedly.

Paloma: I learned that from Luis in police academy. That's what I call justice -- using my own brother's lessons to prove his innocence.

Luis: This could be it. Paloma's collar could be the guy that attacked you.

Fancy: Nobody wants him to be more than I do, Luis.

Luis: Yeah, so we can get him off the street so he doesn't hurt anyone else.

Fancy: Well, that, but it'll clear your name, too. They'll have to drop the rape charge against you.

Luis: That's right. All right, come on, let's hurry up Wait a second. What am I thinking? You don't have to come with me, you know? I don't want you to have to see his face.

Fancy: No, I want to. I want to see that scum get what he's got coming to him.

Noah: I'm not sure I'd believe this if I wasn't seeing it for myself.

Paloma: Luis, I got him.

Whitney: I'm still not sure I get this whole thing. Can you run it by me one more time?

Theresa: Yeah, yeah. The only way I can figure out who sent that message about Ethan being Little Ethan's father is by hiring Vincent. I mean, Whitney, he works for a scandal sheet, so he's connected to all the lowlifes in town, and he was the last person that had the envelope that contained J.T. Cornell's portable mini drive.

Whitney: Yeah, but still, the text message was sent by Gwen.

Theresa: I know, and it doesn't make sense. I mean, why would she threaten to expose my son's true paternity? I mean, that would mean, yeah, I would lose my position as head of the empire, but at the same time, Ethan would figure out that he's the father of both of my children. And besides, Rebecca -- she didn't know anything about it, and where Gwen's concerned, she's the one who's usually pulling the strings.

Whitney: Yeah, that, that's true.

Theresa: So the problem is that I have to do exactly what the blackmailer wants me to do until I can hire Vincent -- steer clear of Ethan. I mean, no one can ever find out that Little Ethan is not a Crane by blood. Otherwise, I'll lose my power and I won't be able to help my brothers.

Whitney: Whoever is doing this whole thing, they know they're backing you into a corner.

Theresa: I know. But I'm going to find my way out. I'm going to figure out who's doing this to me, and I'm going to stop them.

Ivy: What is wrong with you, Kay? Your husband is in there fighting for his life, and you're here, outside of his room, hanging all over your boyfriend, the man who ran him down in his car.

Julian: And as for you, it's bad enough that you're out running around free, but to show up here at the hospital, with Kay, no less, is arrogant and it -- it's callous. It's utterly disrespectful. Well, I don't know why I should expect any more from someone of your low breeding.

Miguel: Listen, I came because Kay was upset.

Ivy: Well, she should be. Tell me, Kay, because I really -- I want to know, what kind of trash are you that you can behave like this with Miguel when Fox could be slipping away from us as we speak?

Whitney: Honey, you don't have to explain. Go right ahead.

Theresa: Thanks.

Theresa: Well, this is weird.

Whitney: What, what is it?

Theresa: You should look at this.

Theresa: I don't get it.

Man: I know what you're doing, Theresa.

Theresa: Oh, my God.

Man: You're hiring someone to try and find me, but you're wasting your time. You'll never track me down, and you'll never stop me either.

Miguel: Hey, do you remember that theory I told you about Fox hiring an impostor to impersonate Charity and me?

Pilar: Yes, and it made sense, since I know you didn't make love to Charity, even though Kay claims that she saw the two of you together.

Miguel: Well, I've tried to tell Kay that it wasn't me and, I mean, with everything that's happened, she just doesn't know what to believe. Listen to this -- Jessica apparently saw the girl that impersonated Charity tonight at the diner.

Pilar: Well, that's good. Now you can prove to Kay that you have been set up.

Miguel: Yeah, I could, except for the fact that when she saw me, she ran away.

Pilar: Oh.

Miguel: I went and got Kay so she could hear from her own sister's lips, and when I got there, Jessica acted like I had no idea what I was talking about.

Pilar: Why would she do that?

Miguel: I have no idea. I mean, maybe she's just too damaged these days with all the drugs and all the drinking Spike makes her do.

Pilar: That poor girl.

Miguel: Anyway, now Kay thinks I really did cheat on her.

Pilar: Ay, mijo, don't. Don't give up on Kay. You deserve to be with the woman you love, the mother of your little girl.

Miguel: Yeah, well, Kay won't hear of it now, Mama, especially now. I mean, she thinks I'm a liar and a cheater, and what's worse is Fox could be on his deathbed even as we speak.

Pilar: Oh, my God.

Miguel: I just got back from the hospital and he's flatlining again. I mean, he could actually die tonight.

Pilar: And you can't even be there for Kay.

Miguel: No, Mama. You know what, I tried, but Ivy and Julian threatened to throw me out. They still think I'm the one that ran over their son.

Pilar: You would never do such a thing.

Miguel: Yeah, well, you know what, I thought Kay knew that, too. But Ivy and Julian are so angry that they planted all this doubt in her mind, and now she actually thinks I may be guilty.

Pilar: But that's probably cause she's so worried about Fox.

Miguel: You know what, I don't want him to die, Mama. I really don't like the Cranes who want nothing more than to make me look like a piece of garbage, but I didn't try to kill him.

Ivy: I should've told him how much I love him.

Julian: He knows that you love him. The question is, does he know that Kay loves him?

Ivy: You know, I swear to God, Kay, if my son dies because of your boyfriend, I will make sure that Miguel spends the rest of his life in jail for murder.

Kay: Miguel would have never done that.

Ivy: And now you're defending him. Why am I surprised? Because when I walked in here, I find you in his arms. Have you no shame whatsoever?

Kay: I didn't ask Miguel to come, ok?  He followed me here.

Ivy: You know, I warned Fox about getting involved with you.  I knew it would end up hurting him, but I honestly thought it was just his heart that would get broken when he found out what a tramp you were. I never, ever thought that you would actually be responsible for his death.

Julian: Oh, Ivy, stop it. He's not going to die.  It can't happen. I won't -- I won't let it happen.

{Spike: Oh, hey, man, not cool. I do not like to be kept waiting on payday.

Julian: I told you to steal Miguel's car and make it look like he ran Fox down. You almost killed him, you moron!

Spike: Hey, you got a problem with my technique, you better bring it up with sonny boy, all right? He wanted it to look real

Julian: What?

Spike: Yeah, that's right. Fox told me to make it believable, ok? He wants the book thrown at his competition, so he told me, "hey, Spike, make it a real hit-and-run," so hey, man, I'm just doing what I was told. }

Julian: If Fox dies, so will you, Spike.

Luis: Well, well. Look what we have here. All the tools a degenerate scum like you would need. We got him dead to rights, Paloma. I mean, you've got him dead to rights.

Luis: Are all these women your next victims? We're going to track these women down, see if they can ID this creep. Who knows, maybe we'll get lucky and they've already filed a police report or two. How many of these women have you attacked?

Man: I told you, I'm not talking till I see my attorney.

Luis: You'd better find yourself a damn good lawyer, because you're going to need one.

Ivy: This is taking too long. Somebody should be coming out of Fox's room. It's taking too long.

Julian: Just calm down.

Ivy: Calm down? Our son could be in there dying.

Julian: How is he?

Nurse: Your son's stabilized for the moment.

Ivy: Oh, thank God.

Kay: Thank you, God.

Julian: Is he -- is he awake?

Nurse: No, not yet. He's still unconscious, and I have to tell you the next couple hours are critical. We'll be monitoring him very closely.

Kay: But he's alive. Can I see him?

Nurse: Actually, I think that's an excellent idea. Critically ill patients seem to improve when their loved ones are with them.

Ivy: Not so fast, Kay.

Kay: Leave me alone, Ivy.

Ivy: You know what I think of your marriage to Fox.

Kay: Yeah, well, you haven't really kept it a secret.

Ivy: I think that you are an insufferable little bit of baggage. But right now you may be the best hope for recovery that my son has, so you go in there and you make it happen.

Kay: I'll do my best, ok, but I can't guarantee anything.

Ivy: I said make it happen, Kay. Fox doesn't know you're a slut. He thinks you are wonderful, so you go in there and you pretend that you are. You hold his hand and you tell him that you love him and you tell him that you will never, ever leave him as long as he gets better. In other words, Kay, pretend that you love him.

Ivy: Pretend that you love only him. I am counting on you to keep him alive, Kay.

Paloma: Yeah, you heard me right. We have a suspect in custody in the Fancy Crane case.  I will bring him in for questioning. Right, Officer Lopez-Fitzgerald is here in an unofficial capacity. I will bring the suspect in for booking. I'm sorry, it's your collar, too.

Luis: No, don't be silly. Even if I wasn't suspended, you did a great job. It's all yours. Listen, if I read him his rights, it's not going to stick.

Paloma: Oh, yeah. You have the right to remain silent.

Man: Hey, hold on a second. I know who this guy is. I know why he can't read me my rights. He's the cop who's got charged with rape. You got a hell of a lot of nerve talking to me like I deserve life behind bars.

Paloma: Anything --

Paloma: Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney and to have an attorney during any questioning. If you can't afford an attorney, one will be provided for you at government expense.

Whitney: Who is he supposed to be?

Theresa: I don't know.

Whitney: Well, it's a man.

Theresa: How do you know?

Whitney: Well, look at his hand.

Man: You can hire all the tabloid reporters in the world. You'll never figure out who I am.

Theresa: Oh, my God. Ok, how did he know that I was going to hire Vincent, Whitney? I've only told you.

Whitney: And I've been with you ever since you told me.

Theresa: How could he have found that out?

Whitney: Oh, God.

Whitney: Do you see what I see?

Theresa: I do.  It's a woman's hand. But that doesn't make any sense, because we just saw the other hand and it was a man's hand.

Whitney: Ok, this whole thing is creeping me out.

Theresa: Well, I think that's what he or she is trying do.

Theresa: "Whoever you are, don't think that I am not going to find out. I am going to use all the Crane money and power to uncover your identity. Don't think that I won't." Now, that ought to show him. Or her, or it -- whatever.

Whitney: Wow, they responded back already?

Man: You must be joking. There's nothing you or your Crane money and power can do to stop me. Like it or not, you're at my mercy now.

Whitney: What are you going to do?

Theresa: I don't know. I've got to figure out who this is. You know, maybe the Crane computer technician guy can help me.

Whitney: Well, he's not going to be in the office at this hour.

Theresa: Ok, you know what, you're right. I've got his number in here.

Whitney: Ok.

Theresa: Ok, right here. Just -- you call that number, and then, you know, if he doesn't answer, just leave a message, and tell him it's an emergency, please?

Whitney: Ok.

Theresa: I'm going to find out who you are. I have to.

Man: I didn't do anything.

Officer: Tell it to the judge.

Luis: Hey. Good job, sis.

Paloma: Really, I did ok?

Luis: "Ok"? You did better than ok. I'm so proud of you.

Paloma: I couldn't have done it without everything you taught me. And the best part is that now that we have the real criminal, all the charges against you can be dropped.

Luis: I hope so. I mean, I still have to deal with Rae's murder and the fact that my St. Christopher medal was found in her hand.

Paloma: Well, we'll deal with that later. At least you'll be off the hook regarding Fancy's attack.

Luis: Thank God for that.

Paloma: Yeah.

Luis: Hey.

Fancy: Yeah.

Luis: How you doing?

Fancy: Fine.

Luis: I know it had to have been rough on you looking into the eyes of the guy --

Fancy: I'll be all right, Luis.

Noah: Luis, if she says she's ok, she's ok.

Luis: Yeah. Well, I don't think there's any rule that says I can't check in the evidence. Can't afford to have anyone tamper with it.

Fancy: Oh. I'm going to powder my nose. I'll be right back.

Noah: You ok?

Paloma: I guess it's just all catching up to me, but I'm fine. I think I'm more relieved about my brother being cleared of the charges than anything else.

Noah: You did a great job, Paloma. You know, I kept thinking that I was going to have to come in and rescue you, but -- but you handled the whole thing like a real pro.

Paloma: I told you, I may be young in years, but I'm not a kid. I know how to take care of myself.

Noah: You certainly do. You -- you're an incredible, brave, strong woman. And you're sexy as hell, too, but, you know...

Paloma: Does this mean that you're going to treat me differently from now on?

Noah: Well, I think that if we're ever in danger again, I'm going to have the desire to try to protect you, but --

Miguel: You know what, Kay won't even talk to me now, Mama. She won't listen to any of my excuses, none of my explanations, and, you know what, honestly, I can't say that I blame her.

Pilar: Well, she should know you better.

Miguel: Yeah, well, the story's just so far-fetched, Mama. I never had sex with Charity. I didn't try to kill Fox with my car. I'm being set up.

Pilar: I feel like this is all my fault.

Miguel: Why is it your fault, Mama?

Pilar: Because, mijo, I'm the one who encouraged you to go after Kay and Maria, even though she was all set to marry Fox. Maybe if you hadn't tried to win her away from Fox, none of this would've happened. Oh, Julian and Fox. Oh, my God, those men are Cranes to the bone. They will do anything to get what they want.

Miguel: Hey, which is why you cannot blame yourself, Mama. They are the ones behind all this. All I want is to love Kay and to be a father to my little girl, and, you know what, to tell you the truth, I -- I would've gone after her with or without your encouragement. I can't stand the idea of her being married to someone else when I actually realize I do love her, and I'm not going to take this lying down.

Pilar: But Fox --

Miguel: Yeah, if he dies tonight, I will go to jail for murder.

Miguel: Who you calling?

Pilar: A friend that works at the hospital. She can give me an update on Fox's condition.

Kay: Fox, please come back to me. Wake up. I need to tell you that I love you and know that you can hear me. All you ever wanted was to make me and Maria happy, and I'm sorry that I didn't appreciate you more. Maybe -- maybe it's because when Miguel left us to go chasing after Charity, I don't know, a part of me just closed off. But you were there, and you were patient with me and you helped me to believe in myself and in love again, and -- and I just need you to wake up so I can tell you that I will never take you for granted. Just give me the chance to make it up to you.

Ivy: If you had a thousand years, you couldn't make it up to him, you bitch.

Kay: I'm scared, Fox. I'm so scared that it's too late. Just wake up. We need you.

Ivy: Did -- did you see that?

Kay: Wake up, Fox. I'm here. I'll always be here for you.

Fox: Kay? What happened?

Ivy: I'll tell you what happened, honey --

Julian: No, you won't.  Let me, please.  You were the victim of a heinous hit-and-run.  Some homicidal maniac ran you down with his car.  Bastard didn't even slow down to see if you were dead or alive.

Kay: This is not the time or the place.  You are ok and we're so happy that you woke up. 

Fox: I vaguely remember I was out walking alone.  I was looking for Kay.  I heard a car coming.  I turned around to see the lights coming right at me.  I tried -- I tried to move, but he swerved.  It was like he was coming right at me. 

Julian: He was.

Ivy: Oh God.

Kay: Fox, did you see who was driving the car?

Whitney: I left a message on the computer guy's home machine telling him he needs to run a trace on the emails you've been getting.  Oh, geez.  Aren't you going to answer the phone?

Theresa: Well, which number did you tell the computer guy to call me back on?

Whitney: Well, I gave him your cell phone.

Theresa: Ok. I'm not answering that. I mean, you know, who's going to call me this late at work? I can see right here from the caller I.D. I do not recognize that number. It is not my family, it is not Ethan, and it's not Jared.

Whitney: Ok, I think it's time we just ignore this, you know what I mean? Just don't even let whoever this person is that's doing this pull your chain any longer.

Theresa: No, Whitney, I -- I can't help it.

Man: Pick up the phone, Theresa, now.

Theresa: I'm not scared. Who are you?

Man: Hello, Theresa.

Theresa: Who are you and why are you doing this?

Man: Hmm, as far as who I am, forget it. But as far as what I want, that's another story.

Theresa: I'm going to find out who you are.

Man: We'll see about that. But in the meantime, there's something you should know. Ethan is going to hate you.

Theresa: Ethan? Why?

Man: You know why. He's never going to want to have anything to do with you once he finds out how long you've been lying to him about his son.

Theresa: You know what, Ethan will understand once I explain to him why I didn't tell him.

Man: You just keep on believing that, honey. In the meantime, check your e-mail. I sent you something.

Theresa: What did you send me, huh? Why are you doing this to me?

Man: Just check your e-mail. That is, if you're interested in what the future holds for you.

Theresa: Wait, hello?

Whitney: What, what, what did they say?

Theresa: He told me to check my e-mail if I want to know what the future's going to bring me.

Theresa: Ew.

Man's voice: You've got mail. You've got mail. You've got mail. You've got mail.

Pilar: You won't be charged for Fox's homicide.

Miguel: What, he pulled through?

Pilar: Yes, apparently so.

Miguel: Gracias, dios.

Pilar: "Gracias, dios" is right. Now all we have to do is clear you of these attempted murder charges.

Miguel: Yeah, well, I'm trying, Mama. I have Ethan Winthrop, the best lawyer in Harmony, working on my case. He has Theresa's Crane money and her power. What else can I do?

Pilar: I don't know, there's just got to be a way that we can prove that you've been set up, mijo.

Miguel: I know there has to be a way. But even if there is, I mean, it still looks bad for me, Mama. I was arrested for a crime I didn't commit. Kay still thinks I was fooling around behind her back with Charity when I didn't. The reality is I could go to jail and lose the woman I love.

Pilar: Well, you and I both know that the Cranes are behind all of this.

Miguel: I know, but without any proof, how can I convince Kay I didn't do it?

Pilar: It hurts me to see you feel so defeated, mijo.

Miguel: Look, I promise you, I'm not going to let Fox and Julian get away with this, ok?

Pilar: Ok.

Pilar: Ay.

Kay: So you said you saw the headlights of the car coming at you. Were you able to see who was driving?

Fox: Yes. Yes, I did.

Kay: Who was it?

Fox: This isn't easy for me to say.

Kay: It's ok. We -- we need to know.

Fox: It was Miguel.

Kay: Oh, my God.

Ivy: I knew it. I'm calling the DA

Kay: Are you positive?

Fox: There's no mistake about it. Miguel was driving the car that ran me down.

Paloma: And to think I almost thought I made some progress with you after I nailed that suspect in Fancy's rape case. But, no, just because you're a couple of years older than I am, you refuse to give me some credit for being mature for my age. Well, at least you're being honest. Thank you very much, Noah.

Noah: What? No, no, whoa, whoa, whoa, hey, hey, stop. Just, look, you misunderstood me or I wasn't very clear.

Paloma: No, you were very clear. You said that if I were in danger, you would come running to my rescue, as if I couldn't take care of myself.

Noah: No, no, no, wait, wait, that's not what I meant, Paloma. What I meant was that -- listen, if we were ever in jeopardy again, I would want to help protect you. I'm not suggesting that you need my assistance or anything like -- look, I -- I -- Paloma, I -- I can't stand to see someone want to hurt you because I care about you.

Paloma: Yeah.

Luis: You ok?

Fancy: Mm-hmm. Thanks. It's just so weird looking into the eyes of that man who attacked me.

Luis: Yeah.

Fancy: But thank God it's over.

Luis: And he's never going to hurt you or anyone else again.

Fancy: And they'll drop the rape charges against you.

Luis: Yeah, well, like I said, I still have to deal with Rae's murder. But at least I'll be cleared of the attacks on you.

Fancy: Does that mean what I think it does?

Luis: I hope so. Hopefully, we'll -- we'll be able to get back to where we were before all this terrible stuff happened. But I want you to know that I will be there with you every step of the way.

Officer: I need you for a minute, Luis.

Theresa: Why are you doing this?

Man: Do you know what they're saying to one another in that photograph? They're saying, "thank God we finally got rid of Theresa. She'll never be a threat to us again.  That's right.  Once again, you lose.

Whitney: This is worse than -- oh, God!

Theresa: Oh, my God. Who are you? Why are you doing this?

Man: You'll never know, Theresa. No one will ever know.
