Tabitha: Trick or treat, my Aunt Fanny. It's an abomination, that's what it is. Amateur night for the masses. A caricature of a once meaningful tradition. I don't know why I let you dress up and go knocking on neighbors' doors, Endora, asking for sugary hand-outs. Except, of course, we don't want to arouse any suspicions, do we, huh? We don't want anyone to know that we're the real deal, do we, sweet pea? More trick-o-treaters.

Girl: Trick or treat.

Tabitha: I suppose you think you look like a witch.

Girl: You're right, I'm an ugly old witch.

Tabitha: There's just one problem with that, you little brat -- I mean, little girl -- and that is that witches are not ugly.

Girl: Are too. They have warts all over their faces. Mama said.

Tabitha: You see, this is how a real witch looks.

Girl: Ah, mama!

Tabitha: Oh, Endora, oh, that was fun, wasn't it? But you know, we have to be more careful, you and I. Let's go inside. Oh, Endora, I cannot wait for the time that you're old enough for me to take you to the cemetery. There you will see how all Hallow's Eve should be celebrated. Oh yes, so many of your ancestors and my oldest and most decrepit and long dead friends rise out of their graves for the occasion, and we party till dawn. Oh yes, Endora, you wait till you see. Now that is Halloween.

Tabitha: Oh, Endora, oh, this is what I've been missing. Oh, you clever little demonette, you little witchlet.

Fox: You feeling any better?

Kay: A little. Thanks for trying to help me get my mind off things.

Fox: But it didn't work, huh?

Kay: No. How can I forget what I've done to my parents? Not to mention Jessica and Noah. I sat back and watched your mother destroy my parents' marriage.

Fox: That's who everybody should be taking their anger out on -- on my mother. Not on you, all right? She is the one who orchestrated this whole little nasty charade.

Kay: Yeah, but I knew, and I could have said something, and didn't.

Fox: I can't argue with you there.

Kay: See, you do feel the same way Miguel does. You're just utterly disappointed in me. And you know what, I wouldn't blame you if you wanted just to call off this whole wedding.

Fox: Oh, Kay, that's not going to happen.  I'm -- I'm not thrilled with what you did. But I understand how it happened and I love you in spite of it.

Kay: Thank you, Fox. You and Maria, you are all I have left.

Fox: What's the problem then? I mean, what more could you need?

Kay: Nothing. No one, just you.

Sam: Grace, it's me, Sam. Listen, I don't care what time it is, I want you to call me back on my cell phone as soon as you get this.

Ivy: Sam.

Sam: I have nothing to say to you, Ivy.

Ivy: I need to talk --

Sam: I don't want to hear it.

Whitney: Thank God Theresa chased J.T. out of town. Now maybe she can relax just a little bit.

Chad: And she can trust him to stay away for good?

Whitney: Well, no, not necessarily. But you know what, at least he's gone for now. And Gwen and Rebecca won't find out what he knows.

Theresa: Oh, my God, it's you.

Gwen: I wish I knew what to say to make you feel better.

Ethan: Hey. There's nothing anybody can say. My mother's done it again. She didn't learn a damn thing from that lie that she told Julian and me all those years ago. Instead of almost ruining my life, this time it's Sam and Grace, and God knows how many people she's hurt, Gwen.

Gwen: Honey, I'm sure she was just, you know, had the love for Sam in her heart, you know?

Ethan: That's not love. That's not the kind of love I want to have anything to do with. Love is about being honest, right, it's about telling the truth. She's gone too far this time, Gwen. What is wrong with people and their secrets around here?

Gwen: I don't know. Oh my goodness.

Ethan: What?

Gwen: I just -- I see an old friend.

Luis: Fancy, it's me again. Look, call me as soon as you get this. Damn it, why isn't she answering?

Paloma: I'm sure you'll hear from her soon.

Luis: Tell me again exactly what she said when you saw her at the main house.

Paloma: Ok, I walked in and she was all excited. She said she wanted me to watch James while she went after the person who killed Phyllis.

Luis: What, she said that she saw him?

Paloma: Yes, outside the window.

Sheridan: Who could it have been? Oh, do not even go there again. Chris was here the entire time. He could have nothing to do with it. Tell him, Chris.

Chris: Of course not.

Luis: Come on, Fancy, pick up the phone.

Spike: I'm sorry, I'm Fancy, and I can't come to the phone right now, because I'm dead.

Gwen's voice: If that's J.T. Cornell with Theresa, he's not getting away from me this time. This time he's going to tell me the secret Theresa's desperate to keep from Ethan.

Gwen: Honey, I will be right back, ok?

Ethan: Ok.

Theresa: I didn't expect to see you.

Jared: Obviously. I thought that we had plans tonight.

Theresa: I -- I'm sorry.

Jared: You forgot, didn't you?

Theresa: Yeah. I -- it was a little crazy with everything.

Jared: Well, I waited at the office, and I called every number I had for you. When you didn't show up, I figured I'd just come down here and have a drink. What's going on, Tess?

Gwen: Got you.

Jared: Excuse me?

Gwen: Jared, I'm so sorry.

Jared: Who was it you two thought I was?

J.T.: I just couldn't stand the idea of leaving town without a quickie.

Rebecca: Is that a quickie drink or a quickie me?

J.T.: Both. You get the table. I will order drinks at the bar.

Rebecca: No, no.

J.T.: Why not? I'd give my left foot for a dry martooni.

Rebecca: Yeah, first things first. Come on.

J.T.: Why? What?

Luis: Then look again. I want every square inch of the estate searched and searched again. Check all the security cameras. Call me the second you find anything.

Sheridan: You think Fancy's still on the grounds?

Luis: I hope so. Maybe one of the security cameras saw something. Are you sure that you're telling me everything that Fancy told you?

Paloma: There wasn't anything else.

Luis: She didn't say how she knew who the killer was?

Paloma: No.

Sheridan: She must have seen someone outside the window and concluded that that was the killer.

Paloma: I got the feeling that she was going on more than that. Like she'd just gotten some information about who the killer was.

Luis: It must have been a phone tip. Yeah, no one else was around. What else could it have been?

James: Mommy, I'm ready for bed.

Spike: Oh, you are in luck, princess. Honey, you still got a beat. Oh, man. Not to mention the hottest pair of legs in town. Sweetheart, you're just so pretty. You have nice lips.

{Fancy: Paloma, you are a life saver. Please stay with James. Carve a pumpkin or something. I think I know who killed Phyllis. He was just outside the window.

Paloma: What?

Fancy: I can't explain. I've got to go after him, or he'll get away. }

Spike: No, no, no, no, no, no, sweetheart, you can't wake up and I.D. me, princess. No, no, no, that wouldn't be very good for your health. Or mine. Come on, let's go for a little ride, shall we? I'll drive. Come on, sweetheart. Baby.

Tabitha: Oh, zap them, Endora. Zap them, zap them.

Fox: Hey, kiddo, we missed you during the rounds.

Tabitha: Oh, ho-ho, don't worry about us. We've had lots of fun. Haven't we, cupcake, huh?

Fox: All right, you two, it is getting late, so it is time to go to bed, ok? Are we ready?

Kay: Go to bed.

Fox: All right? All right, Endora. Come on, kiddo. Nighty-night. Ready?

Tabitha: Take your --

Fox: You can bring it.

Tabitha: Chocolate with you.

Fox: Come on.

Tabitha: Up you go.

Fox: Nighty-night, here we go. Put it this way. We go up, come on. Hey, guys, I got a trick for you. Come get it, come get it.

Tabitha: Merciful maggots, Kay, you look like you're wearing a tragedy mask.

Kay: It's not a mask. My life is a tragedy.

Tabitha: Since when, dear?

Kay: Since I blurted out that Ivy hired David Hastings to pose as my mom's first husband, and I knew all about it, and I didn't say anything.

Tabitha: Good grief, Kay, you did put your foot in your mouth there.

Kay: Tabitha, you should've seen the look on their faces. My dad and Noah and Jessica.

Tabitha: Oh well, looks like it's not going to be quite such a boring Halloween after all.

Kay: Tabitha, don't make light of it. Everyone hates me.

Tabitha: Well, I don't, dear. And it appears that Fox doesn't hate you either.

Kay: Well, Fox has been great. Unbelievably understanding.

Tabitha: Oh yes, well, but there's another young man who didn't take it quite so well, right?

Kay: Miguel thinks I'm a monster. He -- he's over me. He couldn't even look at me.

Miguel: I thought I knew Kay better than anyone else in the world, but she ruined her parents' marriage. How could she be so selfish? Maybe the bigger question is, why do I still love her?

Noah: Yeah, I don't know what's worse -- Ivy turning back to her old self or my own sister covering up the whole thing.

Sam: I know Kay was upset with her mother for months but I never dreamed that she'd take it out on the whole family.

Noah: It's going to be quite a shock for mom. You know, surprise, the man you're with was never your husband to begin with. Wow, I mean, it's even worse. He's an imposter hired by her worst enemy. Speak of the devil. Trouble coming in at 6:00. Call me if you need backup.

Sam: Ivy, would you please leave me alone? I came in here for a nice, quiet drink.

Ivy: I need to talk to you, Sam, and if you want me to go after you've heard what I said, fine, I will leave, but please just give me a few minutes.

Jared: So who was it you two actually thought I was?

Gwen: I'm so sorry, I feel so dumb.  From the back you look exactly like a friend of ours.

Jared: You guys share a friend?

Theresa: It was no one important.

Gwen: Of course, it all depends on your perspective, right?

Theresa: Well, I don't know, I mean, he is long gone and we're never going to see him again in this lifetime, right?

Gwen: I guess we will see about that, right?

Ethan: Hey, you forget about me?

Gwen: Hi, no I didn't. Let's go finish our dance.

Jared: What was that all about?

Theresa: Just, you know, Gwen getting her kicks trying to torture me.

Jared: It seems like she succeeded tonight. You want to talk about it?

Theresa: Can't.

Jared: All right. First you forget about our date tonight. And then, you just don't want to tell me about something that's obviously gotten you shaken up. What's going on, Tess?

Tabitha: Oh, there, there, dear. We all cause heartache and suffering on occasion. Some of us even do it on purpose.

Kay: Yeah, but, you know, I don't even understand it myself. You know, yeah, I was furious with my mom back when, you know, this all happened, but my life has changed a lot since then. I've got Maria. I've got a way better self-esteem. You know, and I even got --

Tabitha: Yes, and you've got two young men in love with you. I wonder if you're crying over your family's disappointment or Miguel.

Kay: My family of course. But still you should have seen the way Miguel looked at me. He had to walk away.

Tabitha: I should think that -- doesn't that make things easier for you? Now you don't have to choose between your two young men. Miguel's taken himself out of the mix. And you were going to marry Fox anyway. This has just validated your choice.

Kay: But I didn't want it to be like this.

Tabitha: No, you wanted to keep poor Miguel dangling on a string while you walked down the aisle with his nemesis.

Tabitha: Oh, that's not true. I just hoped that we could be friends. And now he's ashamed of me. I just wish I could talk to him. I just wish I could make him see that I am -- I am still the same Kay that he loved deep down.

Tabitha: Opportunity comes to call.

Luis: Security's combed the entire grounds. They've played and replayed the security tapes, and no sign of Fancy or anyone else.

Paloma: Then that means --

Luis: That she's not here. And if she's still chasing the suspect, she could be anywhere by now.

Sheridan: You can stop shooting those accusing looks to Chris.

Luis: So help me God, Sheridan, if I find out that he knew something about this and isn't talking --

Sheridan: Oh, don't, just don't make any threats, ok?

Luis: Call the station. Have them put out an APB on Fancy. I'll make some calls of my own, pull some favors, put out a search team.

Paloma: You're really worried, aren't you?

Luis: Fancy may only be a cadet, but she's smart. She would have called for backup... if she could.

Spike: Wake up, princess.

Fancy: Let me go, let me go!

Spike: Shh.

Fancy: Who are you?

Fancy: Who are you?

Spike's voice: Oh, honey, that's for me to know and for you never to find out.

J.T.: Oh, my God, you're insatiable.

Rebecca: So I've been told.

J.T.: But this time you're even more energetic than ever.

Rebecca: Well, I just couldn't wait to be with you.

J.T.: Yeah, feeling's mutual. Now how about two dry martinis?

Rebecca: Not -- not yet.

J.T.: Well, why not?

Rebecca: Well, you know, why don't I go get them and then I can bring them back here?

J.T.: I'll go with you.

Rebecca: Oh no, no, no, honey, no, I want you to stay here just like you are, naked as a jaybird.

J.T.: If you say so.

Rebecca: Now where's Gwennie? Wait till she sees who I have locked in the storage room.

Jared: Hey, I love you. Tell me what's got you so shaken up.

Theresa: I want to, Jared, but I can't.

Jared: You don't trust me.

Theresa: No, it's -- it's not that. It's just something that I can't talk about right now.

Jared: You know I'd never betray a confidence.

Theresa: I know.

Jared: All right. Well it's your call.

Theresa: Jared.

Whitney: What's wrong? Where's Jared going?

Theresa: Some place far away from me.

Ethan: I didn't know your mother was here.

Gwen: Neither did I.

Ethan: Why is she flapping like a --

Gwen: She is probably auditioning for Big Bird. I don't know, just ignore her. We are having way too good a time to let her ruin it.

Rebecca: Gwennie, come on. Come over here now. Wait till she sees that I have J.T. locked up in the storage room. We can finally get him to spill the beans on Theresa. We can get rid of her tonight.

Ivy: I am fighting for my life here.

Sam: Don't exaggerate, Ivy.

Ivy: I am not. No. A life with you, that is all I have ever wanted, Sam. Ok, I know I was wrong to hire David to -- to pose as --

Sam: Wrong? It was despicable to take advantage of Grace's amnesia. You tore up our home, Ivy.

Ivy: What I did, I did for love.

Sam: Love? You call it love? I call it sick. Pathologically cruel. I mean what decent human being would conjure up such a devious, hurtful scheme?

Ivy: I didn't have a choice. You made me love you so much, and I was so lonely.

Sam: You were with Julian, which -- you were lying to him about Ethan, I might add. God, I should have known it was you.

Ivy: Don't treat me like I'm dirt, Sam.

Sam: You said it, Ivy, not me.

Ivy: It should have been us married all those years. Not you and Grace. I just couldn't make you realize that.

Sam: So things didn't work out between us when we were young, Ivy. Ok, stuff happens. It's called life. Doesn't give you the right to play God.

Ivy: You loved me. I knew you loved me. It was just Grace, she was just in the way.

Sam: Grace, my wife, the mother of my children, the woman I was married to, that I loved.

Ivy: I thought I was going to die without you, Sam. The only thing that kept me going all those years was Ethan, that I had this little piece of you.

Sam: And that wasn't enough.

Ivy: No, it wasn't. It wasn't being with you.

Sam: Don't tell me you're trying to justify your actions, Ivy, please.

Ivy: No, I'm not. I'm not trying to justify them. I am trying to explain. Please, I was in this marriage, and I had this secret. It was tearing me apart every time I saw you in town. I wanted to scream at you that Ethan was your son and that I loved you as much as I ever did.

Sam: And yet you kept it in. Not only lying to Julian but to me and Ethan as well.

Ivy: And I paid for those lies. You know I did. When the truth came out, I almost lost Ethan, and Ethan -- Ethan lost everything. He lost his legacy. It broke my heart, Sam, and yet, you know, part of me was still happy because you finally knew that he was your son.

Sam: Look, Ivy, I don't feel like sitting around here running through a laundry list of your deceptions, ok? So just go home, wherever that may be.

Ivy: No. No, because I am not through. The only thing that got me through all of those years, Sam, was my love for you. Haven't you ever wanted someone so much that you would do anything in the world to make them yours? Ok, I was weak, and I couldn't stand the thought of my life without you. So I did whatever I could to get you back. I just wanted you to remember how wonderful it was when we were young and Ethan was conceived. I just wanted you to give us one more chance. I didn't do this to hurt you, or to hurt Grace, or to hurt anyone else. I just did it for us. Please, Sam, please, just -- can't you understand that?

Theresa: I don't blame Jared for washing his hands of me. He is a good guy, and this is how I repay him? By not telling him what's going on?

Whitney: But you know what, I don't get it. Why don't you just confide in him? What, are you afraid he is going to say something about Ethan and Little Ethan?

Theresa: I don't know, Whitney. I don't know what to think anymore. I am just so scared that my secret is going to come out. And now I messed things up with Jared.

Whitney: Well, all I know is that secrets kill relationships. I mean, either they blow up like a huge bomb, or they slowly eat away the trust we build with each other.

Theresa: I just -- I don't know, Whitney. I just -- I cannot put my son's future on the line by letting another person know who his real father is. I don't think that Jared would intentionally tell anyone, but what if it slipped out? And now, I lost Jared for good, a guy who really cared about me.

Whitney: Maybe not.

Theresa: You didn't see the look on his face. You didn't hear the disappointment in his voice.

Jared: For you.

Theresa: You're not mad at me?

Jared: If anyone has the right to be mad, it's you at me. I realized I was pushing you a little hard. If you have something to tell me, you'll tell me in your own time.

Ethan: Look, why don't -- why don't you just go talk to your mother?

Gwen: You know what, I will talk to her later. Right now I just want to be in your arms.

Ethan: It's all right, we'll catch up afterwards, ok? I'll get some champagne.

Gwen: All right. You have really lousy timing.

Rebecca: Honey, you don't understand.

Gwen: No, you don't understand. Ethan is really upset about what his mother did to Sam and Grace's marriage, and I want to be here for him.

Rebecca: Honey, I don't see why everybody is so shocked about this. I mean, I knew all along that Ivy was behind David's sudden appearance in town so he could take Grace to Europe. I mean, and people call me the town hussy.

Gwen: You are the town hussy.

Rebecca: Never mind that. Look, but this is really important.

Gwen: Look, just -- would you please get -- go away. Ethan's coming. Don't ruin our romantic evening. I'll call you tomorrow, ok?

Rebecca: But, honey, it's important.

Ethan: Excuse me, is everything ok?

Gwen: Indeed, my mother was just leaving.

Rebecca: Oh.

Tabitha: For Hades' sake, dear, the tension's so thick in here, I could cut it with a knife.

Fox: All right, I got both girls to go to bed and believe it -- believe it or not, they both went right down. Listen, Kay, it's been a long day and even longer night. What do you say we both go to bed ourselves? You'll feel better after a good night's rest, all right?

Kay: Yeah, I'm not even sure that's going to help. Good night.

Miguel: Yeah.

Tabitha: Well, I heard what happened.

Miguel: My mind is still trying to take it in, Tabitha. Kay let Ivy break up her parents' marriage.

Tabitha: Yeah. I would think you would be feeling fortunate that you are competition for Kay's affections.

Miguel: You know, that's the weird thing. Because even after everything she did, I still want her. And I am not going to give up on her.

Sheridan: I think Luis is trying to use the situation to try and tear you down in my eyes.

Chris: That could be.

Sheridan: He's just taking it too far. I mean to accuse you of murder, being involved with my father while he was alive, that's just too much. Come here. I want you to know that Luis' tactics are not working, ok? I trust you implicitly. I know you are completely innocent.

Luis: Not a trace. They got roadblocks set up all over town, and no Fancy.

Paloma: Where could she be?

Luis: I wish I knew. You know, Fancy doesn't always obey orders, but she knows the one cardinal rule of a cop on a chase. You always check in. That's how I know she's in trouble.

Spike: Well Houdini she ain't. Honey, relax a little bit. You're going to wear yourself out, cupcake.

Fancy: What do you want from me? What do you want from me?

Spike's voice: Patience, honey, and you will find out sooner than you think.

Spike: Shh.

Tabitha: You mean to tell me that you, son of Saint Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald, can still love Kay in spite of her duplicity?

Miguel: I wasn't sure how I felt at first, but yes. That's exactly what I am saying.

Tabitha: Well, well.

Miguel: I'm surprised myself, Tabitha. I guess it goes to show how much she really means to me. I still want to be with her. I am not going to give her up to Fox. Not without a hell of a fight.

Tabitha: Miguel, you are not going up to their bedroom, are you?

Miguel: Oh no. Just going up to give Maria a goodnight kiss.

Tabitha: The plot thickens once again. A reprieve for Kay, which might mean a temporary lift of the spirits. At least until Grace comes home, and come home she will, I'll wager that. I wonder -- I wonder what she'll say when she finds out that Kay was in cahoots with poison Ivy. More than tomato soup cake will hit the proverbial fan.

Kay: Fox, what's wrong with me? I've ruined everyone's lives. I am a horrible person.

Fox: No, you're not a horrible person. You made a mistake, that's all.

Kay: This was more than a mistake. I knowingly let your mom destroy my parents' marriage. God, no wonder my dad thinks I'm a monster.

Fox: He doesn't think you're a monster. All right? He's -- he's just in shock right now. It's going to take some time for -- for him to absorb all this, Kay.

Kay: I wonder if anyone will even come to the wedding.

Fox: Of course they will. And if they don't, to hell with them.

Kay: Yeah, but I always dreamed of my dad walking me down the aisle, and now he's not even going to come. Or my -- or my family -- anybody in my family. No one's going to be there. Not even Maria's dad.

Fox: I'll be there.

Paloma: The desk sergeant hasn't heard a word. None of the beat cops have been able to turn up anything.

Luis: Damn it!

Sheridan: Please, James will hear you.

Luis: Sorry, but where could she be? I'm not waiting around here any longer.

Paloma: Luis, where are you going to go? There are search teams spread out all over town.

Luis: Good, then I will join up with them. Fancy is in trouble, and this is all my fault.

Paloma: No, no, she is the one who wanted to be involved in this investigation.

Luis: And I am her superior. I should have insisted that she stay out of it. So help me, God, if anything happens to her --

Fancy: Help me. Help me.

Spike: I am sorry, princess. There is no prince charming to the rescue for you. More like the prince of darkness.

Ivy: I don't expect you to forgive me, Sam, I don't. I just want you to understand what motivated me. Just don't shut me out completely.

Sam: You did that to yourself, Ivy.

Ivy: Because I love you. Because without you, my life is meaningless. And you love me, too, and that's why we were getting married. We belong together, Sam, we always did.

Sam: Sam Bennett. Grace, my God, thank God it's you. Yes, it's very important. You're not going to believe this.

Theresa: I thought you left.

Jared: I did. I went to the corner store to get those.

Chad: Hey, you want to dance?

Whitney: Sure.

Chad: All right.

Theresa: You were angry with me?

Jared: I don't know. I took a couple of deep breaths and realized I pushed you. I meant what I said. I love you.

Theresa: Wow.

Jared: I am not the type of guy who gives up once he realizes he has the right person. If you want to tell me everything that's going on in your mind, or in your life, that's fine. I just want you to know that I'm here for you, whenever you need me.

Theresa: Well, I don't deserve you, Jared.

Jared: No, you probably deserve better. But I am what you're stuck with, so...

Theresa: Thanks. You're amazing.

J.T.: You know how to make an olive lonely?

Gwen's voice: Oh, my God, J.T. Cornell. He is here.

Ethan: What are you -- what are you looking at over there? What's wrong?

Gwen: My mother needs my help with something.

Ethan: She does? Ok. Anything I can do to help?

Gwen: It's a female thing.

Ethan: Don't -- forget it. You don't have to say anything else.

Gwen: Yeah.

Ethan: If it has to do with her sex life, the less I know, the better. Just promise me there is no livestock involved, ok?

Gwen: Go back to just where you just were, and I will meet you in just a second.

Rebecca: Ok, whatever you say.

Gwen: Ok.

Ethan: I'll get a table.

Gwen: Mm-hmm. That's a really good idea. I won't be long at all.

Ethan: Ok.

Gwen: Oh no, now that I have J.T., this shouldn't take long at all. Whatever secret Theresa is keeping from Ethan won't be a secret much longer.

On the Next Passions:

Jared: If Whitney catches you, it's going to be over.

Sam: Grace would like to talk to you.

Fancy: Please don't hurt me. Please, just let me go
