Valerie: Oh, my God.
Julian: I told you to lock the door.
Eve: God, this can't be. This just can't be.
Luis: Yeah, I know what everyone says. I should let you go and move on with my life. But what can I say? I still love you, Sheridan.
Pilar: Aye, mijo. I meant to put that picture away.
Luis: Don't ever.
Luis: Look, no more about me and Sheridan, ok?
Pilar: I'm sorry. We shouldn't have come on so strongly earlier.
Paloma: Si, we were too harsh. No wonder you didn't want to listen.
Luis: Look, it doesn't matter how you say it. I just don't want to talk about Sheridan or Fancy right now, ok?
Paloma: Luis, you can't make this situation go away by refusing to talk about it.
Pilar: We just want you to be happy. I mean, come on, just give Fancy a chance.
Paloma: We're not going to back off until you realize we're right. It's time for you to put all thoughts of Sheridan behind you.
Sheridan: How dare my own niece lecture me on my love life.
Katherine: I made you some tea, darling. It's herbal. It'll help you sleep.
Sheridan: The way I'm feeling tonight, I'm not sure anything will help me sleep.
Katherine: Well, my granddaughter certainly has a mouth on her. I think she learned it from her mother.
Sheridan: Well, Ivy can have a sharp tongue, but she never laid me out the way Fancy did tonight.
Katherine: Well, she was lighter on you than she was on me, but maybe I deserve it. I certainly have not set the finest example for either one of you.
Sheridan: Don't you ever say that, Mother. It's not your fault you had to leave Harmony. It's not your fault you fell in love with Martin.
Katherine: Well, I certainly couldn't control it. It just happened, the way it did for you and Luis.
Sheridan: Only I married another man. A man I vowed to stay with. Am I as horrible as Fancy says?
Katherine: Oh, darling, no, you're not. I have to believe that all those attacks she hurled at either one of us -- that she doesn't mean it. She's just upset tonight.
Fancy: I meant every word I said to both of you. And I came back to make sure you understood that.
Theresa: You know you don't -- you don't have to fuss over me.
Jared: Well, Dr. Russell said you might be dehydrated, so what would you like to drink?
Theresa: I'll take some water actually. Thank you.
Jared: Well, sip this, try to take in as much as you can. You know, you really had me worried.
Jared: You seem a bit warm. I'm going to go get you a wet washcloth.
Whitney: Theresa? Honey, we heard what happened in the steam room.
Chad: You ok?
Theresa: Yeah, yeah, I'm fine, I'm fine.
Whitney: We also heard that Jared and Ethan got into it again over you? Does Jared know that you slept with Ethan?
Valerie: I've never been so embarrassed in my life. This is not what you think. This has never happened before.
Julian: That will be all, Valerie. It's -- it's not like you caught me cheating, Eve. You did break off our relationship.
Valerie: I am so sorry. Julian told me you gave him back the engagement ring.
Eve: It doesn't matter now. I'm going.
Julian: Eve, wait. Don't go.
Eve: I don't want to hear your apologies, Julian.
Julian: I'm not offering an apology.
Eve: What did you say?
Julian: What you walked in on just now was your fault, not mine.
Luis: You know, I sort of get where Paloma's coming from on this, but you -- you of all people -- you always wanted me to be with Sheridan.
Pilar: Things are different now, mijo. She's married to Chris.
Luis: She only married Chris because she thought I was dead.
Pilar: The reasons don't matter. The fact is, she's committed to him. She's told you that, right? Over and over again. And to raising his son, James, a boy she obviously adores. That's -- she's the only mother that boy has known. She's not going to leave her family to be with you.
Luis: Well, I'm not saying that it's going to be easy.
Paloma: Try impossible, Luis. Why are you turning away from a great future with Fancy? She's beautiful, smart, fearless, and most important, she's crazy about you.
Luis: Look, I care about Fancy, too, ok?
Paloma: No, no, no, no, no. We're not talking about care here. You could love her.
Luis: Well, not as long as there's a chance that Sheridan could come to her senses. What can I say? My heart's with Sheridan, not Fancy.
Fancy: You're my aunt and you're my grandmother. I love you both dearly.
Katherine: I wonder if you do.
Fancy: Of course I do. I wouldn't be sticking my neck out here and trying to set things straight if I didn't have the utmost affection and respect for both of you.
Katherine: You said some very unkind and cruel words, Fancy.
Fancy: I was trying to get your attention. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I just think you've both had such terrible experiences with men in your pasts. You're not the best judges of what's right here.
Sheridan: Where do you get off judging my mother -- your grandmother?
Fancy: Nobody's judging. I'm just reminding you of the difference between right and wrong. I am sure you do love Martin, but you cost him another woman who loved him with her whole heart. You almost cost him the love and respect of his children, too.
Katherine: Well, I'm very grateful to know that they're doing better.
Fancy: No thanks to you, I suspect. Do you want to follow in your mother's footsteps? Be the woman who didn't know when to back off? Who was so caught up in her own selfish needs, she didn't notice everyone else around her that she was hurting?
Sheridan: No, of course not. But you misread the situation. I'm not leaving Chris for Luis.
Fancy: Well, then you'd better work harder to convince Luis. He doesn't know which way is up because he senses your conflict. As long as he feels there is even a glimmer of hope for the two of you, he won't move on with anyone else.
Fancy: Let him go, Aunt Sheridan. Leave him alone. You keep saying Chris is the man you want to spend the rest of your life with.
Sheridan: I love them.
Fancy: Maybe you should reexamine your definition of the word. If you truly love Chris and James, start acting that way.
Theresa: Jared, um --
Whitney: I -- I was saying that --
Jared: Hey, you two. I figured you'd be stopping in to check on Tess.
Theresa: Yeah, actually I -- I was just telling them how great you've been.
Chad: She must have been through the mill. I mean she is not even objecting to you calling her Tess anymore.
Jared: No, no, I think I've pretty much cured her of that.
Theresa: Yeah, it's -- it's grown on me.
Jared: Put that on your head.
Theresa: Thank you. Woo, you know, if you ever get tired of practicing law, I think that you might want to consider nursing.
Jared: No can do, my -- my boss depends on me a little too much.
Theresa: She does.
Jared: Chad, actually I have a few questions I'd like to ask you about work, if you could help me with them.
Chad: Yeah, sure. Let's, uh, let's talk outside. We'll let these girls gossip or whatever.
[Theresa and Whitney chuckle]
Theresa: Oh, my God, Whitney. Oh, my God.
Whitney: I'm sorry. I am so sorry. I didn't know Jared was in there.
Theresa: No, it's ok. It's just he cannot find out that I just -- I slept with Ethan, you know? I mean, when I think about what could happen.
Whitney: So things must be going well between the two of you.
Theresa: They are. I mean, he -- he's amazing. I don't want to lose him.
Chad: So you want to talk to me about Crane business?
Jared: Actually I lied. I need to ask you something personally.
Chad: What's that?
Jared: Well, when I was coming out of the bathroom, heading towards the bedroom, I heard Whitney mention Ethan's name.
Jared: Well, why is she talking about Ethan? Is there something I should know about?
Eve: So I'm to blame for your having sex on your office desk with an employee. Oh, Julian, you sure have got a lot of nerve.
Julian: We need to have this conversation in private.
Eve: No, we don't need to have any conversation at all. Get your filthy hands off me. I just want to go back to work.
Julian: Come to my office.
Eve: Your office? Don't you mean your game room? You're sick, Julian. I'm never stepping foot in there again.
Julian: That's too bad because you're coming with me.
Eve: No, let go of me. Stop it.
Valerie: Dr. Russell, I need you to know --
Eve: I don't really care about anything that you would have to say right now, Valerie.
Valerie: But I am so sorry.
Eve: Well, then save your sorries for someone who cares.
Valerie: But I -- I don't even know what made me do it. I'm involved with someone else myself.
Eve: Do you want me to tell you what made you do it? What made you betray whatever poor sap that you're involved with? Because you thought that by doing Julian, you could accelerate your climb up the Crane executive ladder. And if that's what he's promised you, you're going to be sorely disappointed.
Julian: Valerie, you're excused.
Eve: No, I'm not finished talking to Valerie yet. I think if you want to drag me in here, then both of you will just have to listen to what I have to say.
Valerie: I should go.
Eve: No, honey. Not so fast. I'm very disappointed in you, Valerie.
Valerie: You hardly even know me.
Eve: No, not socially. But I've been following your career. I have been very, very impressed with you. So much so that I considered you a role model for my daughters and for every other young woman in the area. I know that you didn't have very much coming up. And -- and I believed that through your hard work and your education, that you had managed to do some remarkable things. And now -- now I know just how you did it.
Valerie: That's a lie.
Eve: Oh, honey, I just saw you in action with my own eyes. Ah, Valerie, for shame -- for shame. You're nothing but trash.
Julian: Leave her alone.
Eve: No, don't you try and be noble, Julian. I'm not buying it. And I can't believe I bought that -- your colorblind thing. What is it with you and black girls anyway? Do you think we're all just for sex?
Julian: You know that's not true.
Eve: I don't know what I know anymore, but I know I'm not done talking to Valerie. You know, Valerie, if I remember correctly, first you were pursuing Julian's son, Fox. And then you were chasing after Whitney's fiancÚ, Chad. And now Julian himself. Sad, Valerie -- sad. You know, you're not just degrading yourself. You're insulting every hard-working, God-fearing woman out there who is trying to use her brains to get somewhere, instead of her body.
Valerie: God-fearing? Did you just say "God-fearing"?
Eve: You heard me. You're just -- you're nothing but a common prostitute.
Valerie: Oh, well, I guess it takes one to know one.
Eve: What did you just say?
Valerie: Oh, you heard me. From what I've heard, your background didn't have a whole lot to do with God either. Or am I wrong? Isn't it true when Julian met you, you were nothing but a drug-addicted whore?
Eve: You little bitch!
Valerie: Ah! Get her off of me!
Paloma: Luis, I'm not sure you've heard a word Mama and I have said.
Luis: Do you know what? Maybe it's the other way around, little sister.
Paloma: Don't talk down to me, Luis. We're just trying to look out for you.
Luis: Fine, then why don't you just leave me alone, ok? I love Sheridan and nothing is gonna change that.
Paloma: But, Luis, she's married. M-a-r-r-i-e-d -- married. She's not just dating him, on the rebound from you, ok? She didn't come here and tell you that she was confused, that she wanted to play the field for a while. She's married and she loves him. She has no intention of leaving Chris.
Luis: Is that right? I wouldn't be so sure about that. In fact, when I'm with Sheridan, I can tell that she still loves me.
Pilar: Aye, mijo, what you're feeling is probably the old feelings you still have between you.
Luis: No, it's more than that. Listen, she's miserable with Chris. She still loves me. And as long as there's a chance that she's going to come back to me, I'm not going anywhere.
Pilar: Oh, Luis.
Luis: Yeah, and I'll tell you something else. I don't know how long it's going to take, but you heard it here first. Sheridan is going to come back to me. And you know what? There is nothing that you two meddlers can do to stop that.
Paloma: Luis, this is nuts.
Luis: And you know what? Yeah, don't you have somewhere to be right now, young lady?
Paloma: I'm due at the station for my workout.
Paloma: But this is not over.
Luis: Yeah, somehow I figured that.
Paloma: Luis, you're my brother and I love you. All I want is for you to be happy.
Luis: Well, I want the same thing, kid.
Paloma: But it's not Sheridan who will make you happy. It's Fancy. And I hope you realize that, before you lose her.
Fancy: Do you know what I think? I think the reason you hold on to Luis the way you do, keep him dangling from a string, is all about your ego.
Katherine: Oh, come on, Fancy.
Fancy: Well, maybe it's not conscious, but it's pretty obvious. You love the fact that a man as incredible as Luis can't get over you.
Sheridan: Honestly, I don't ever think of it that way. I would never want to intentionally hurt Luis.
Fancy: Well, you are. And it's not fair. You can't tell him one minute you're over him and then the next kiss him. I'm just trying to voice what nobody else is willing or able to say, Sheridan. Let him go. Please, for all of our sakes, let him go forever.
Katherine: Fancy, don't you walk away.
Sheridan: It's all right. She's made her point.
Katherine: She shouldn't have said those things to you.
Sheridan: Somebody had to. It's true. I can't keep Luis on a string. It isn't fair.
Katherine: You love him. Can you tell me that you can honestly bear spending the rest of your life without him?
Valerie: You're the one who lied to her husband about your affair with Julian.
Julian: All right, that is enough.
Eve and Valerie: [Panting]
Julian: You, out now!
Eve: You're a disgrace!
Julian: Out! Not another word.
Eve: Damn you to hell, Julian.
Julian: So you're banishing me to an eternity of hellfire for what infraction? You can't cheat on someone who's already broken up with you.
Eve: Oh, and thank God I did. 'Cause you're -- you're just as despicable as your father. Maybe even more so because you pretended to be a decent person. You pretended that there was some decent human being under those -- those ugly Crane trappings.
Julian: I pretended nothing. If I'm not the man you want, you only have to look in the mirror to see the reason why. I loved you, Eve. Not only was I willing but eager to be the man of your dreams for the rest of my life. But you thought it was more important to go back to T.C. than be with a man who would've laid down and died for you. You made me the man I am today. You must be very proud.
Pilar: You do understand, mijo, that your sister and I just want what's best for you.
Luis: I know you mean well.
Pilar: Then take our words to heart, huh? I probably shouldn't have said that I wanted more grandchildren earlier.
Luis: It's all right.
Pilar: It's just -- God, I hate to see you like this.
Luis: I'll survive.
Pilar: It's got to be hard, huh? To see Sheridan with another man?
Luis: Yeah, but what's worse is the whole thing's my fault. I should have believed Sheridan when she first sensed that Beth was raising Marty as her son.
Pilar: Yeah, but she -- Sheridan was on such an emotional rollercoaster back then, it's no wonder you doubted her.
Luis: You should never doubt the woman you love. I should have listened. Oh, God, why is life like this?
Pilar: Hmm, a question I often ask God in church. I know we're taught to follow his plan and not question it, but even I sometimes -- I wonder -- just if he's really there, if he's really paying attention.
Luis: You can't give up your faith, 'cause if you do, there's no hope for the rest of us.
Pilar: So nothing your sister and I said has really changed your mind, huh?
Luis: You mean am I going to hope that Sheridan stops loving me, or am I going to ever stop loving her? Never.
Katherine: And you think that you can stop loving Luis just because it's inconvenient.
Sheridan: I don't know, Mother! But I know I have to try. Ugh. I'm sorry, I shouldn't be yelling at you.
Katherine: It's ok, it's ok. Fancy upset you.
Sheridan: But only because she's telling the truth.
Katherine: Well, then there's a truth that you need to heed here. You love Luis. And I still believe that you, not Fancy, are the one who's to be with him.
Sheridan: No offense, Mother, but it doesn't really matter what you believe. The fact is I'm with Chris. I'm married to Chris. And Fancy is falling in love with Luis. She has every right to ask me to let him go. And Luis deserves to be happy. I have no right to block his chances with another woman.
Katherine: Hmm, and if the other woman is your niece?
Sheridan: For some reason, it just makes it that much harder. I don't know why.
Katherine: Well, because you know that Luis is attracted to Fancy partly because you're related. You're not that dissimilar, you know.
Sheridan: You think Luis is thinking of me when he is with Fancy?
Katherine: Well, aren't you thinking of him when you're with Chris?
Sheridan: I can't do this anymore. I've tried to tell Luis to move on, but he must have sensed that I didn't mean it. It's not my ego. I'm scared.
Katherine: Of what? Of what?
Sheridan: Of living my life without Luis, of waking up every single morning and knowing it's not his face on the pillow next to mine.
Katherine: Sheridan, darling, doesn't that tell you something? It tells me that you know deep down in your heart you should be with Luis.
Sheridan: But I'm married --
Katherine: Shh, shh, shh. You just need to turn off that noise. Turn off that laundry list of reasons you couldn't be or shouldn't be with Luis. Just quiet yourself. Listen to your heart, darling. Just listen to your heart.
Theresa: Well, apparently I was so out of it that when they found me, I actually called out Ethan's name and not Jared's.
Whitney: And Jared heard that?
Theresa: Yeah, he was right there. I mean -- I mean, he didn't say anything, Whitney, but I imagine that it stung, especially after the fact that we were just intimate.
Theresa: Yeah, I know, but you know I'm trying to make up for it. I really, really am. I mean he's great, Whitney. He's attentive and -- and he's caring, and I -- I made a point of leaning on Jared in front of Ethan.
Whitney: Ok, I -- I just don't know you do it. How do you keep balancing yourself on this emotional tightrope? I don't understand.
Theresa: Well it's over, ok? No more back and forth, all right? This whole thing in the steam room -- it made things very clear for me. I now know what I have to do.
Whitney: Ok, so are you going to tell me?
Theresa: Yes. I don't have a future with Ethan. I have a future with Jared. And I'm not going to risk losing that.
Whitney: Even if your subconscious half is still reaching for Ethan?
Theresa: That's going to go away. I mean it has to, right? So in the meantime, I just have to convince Jared that he's the only man in my heart and life.
Whitney: And bed.
Theresa: Right. Yeah, he can never find out that I -- I just slept with Ethan.
Jared: Theresa looked like a deer caught in headlights when I came to the bedroom after I heard Whitney mention Ethan's name. What did I miss?
Chad: What difference does it make?
Jared: Well, you were there, man. I want to know. Can you tell me?
Chad: Ok -- ok, but you know what they say -- don't ask questions you don't really want to hear the answers to.
Paloma: Nothing. I'm just glad I'm not that punching bag.
Fancy: I just came back from a tense little family gathering with Sheridan and my grandmother.
Paloma: About what?
Fancy: What else? I told Sheridan to stop sending mixed signals to Luis... that he didn't know which way was up anymore. She says one thing and then does another.
Paloma: What did she say?
Fancy: Well, I'm not sure. It was my grandmother who was the most on the defensive. She's got it into her head that Sheridan and Luis just have to be together, no matter who they hurt in the process. And I -- I kind of let her have it, too.
Paloma: About what?
Fancy: Stealing your father from your mother.
Paloma: Fancy, I'm not crazy about that part either, but Katherine was more of a mother to me than my own growing up.
Fancy: Well, that doesn't mean she knows what's best for Sheridan or Luis.
Paloma: And you told her that to her face?
Fancy: How could I not? I mean, my future with Luis is at stake. I'd never forgive myself if I didn't say whatever I had to.
Jared: Just give it to me straight, man. I don't want any bull.
Chad: Look, Whitney's been worried about Theresa for a long time. Ok, neither one of us wants to see her waste another minute with Ethan.
Jared: Now you can add me to that list.
Chad: Well, the thing is, Ethan knows better than to string her along. He's married.
Jared: Which is something he forgets every time Tess is in the room with him.
Chad: Well, when you walked in, Whitney was just warning Theresa that if Ethan keeps it up, he can end up destroying his marriage.
Jared: That's something he deserves, in my opinion.
Chad: Hey, Ethan is not a bad guy, ok?
Jared: He's not the right guy for Theresa either.
Chad: And you are?
Jared: Well, let's just say I want in the future with Tess what you have with Whitney. Can't ask for more than that, now can you?
Chad: No, no you can't.
Chad: A shower? Just what I needed.
Chad: If that's all you can ask for, why am I cheating on Whitney?
Whitney: Hey, where's Chad?
Chad: Right here.
Theresa: So what was that work question that you had for Chad?
Jared: Oh, mostly we were talking about you girls and how lucky we were to have found the two of you. Right?
Chad: I couldn't put it better myself.
Jared: And now I can stop looking because I've found the woman of my dreams.
Theresa: Can I get that in writing?
Jared: There's no need. There's no one else in the world I'd rather be with.
Whitney: You feel the same way about me, right?
Chad: You know I do.
Jared: Yeah, you better believe it. Chad never stops talking about you.
[Cell phone rings]
Chad: Oops. Excuse me. Hello?
Valerie: Chad, it's Valerie.
Chad: What's up?
Valerie: I really need to talk to you right away.
Julian: If you hadn't decided to dump me for your ex-husband, I -- I wouldn't have felt the need to seek solace elsewhere.
Eve: Seek solace, Julian? Is that what you call having sex on your office desk with your employee? Oh, I don't want to even be in here with you.
Julian: You are not leaving until you listen to what I have to say. You judge me... but you were the one who treated me like dirt. You knew how much I loved you. You knew I would do anything for you.
Eve: Only as long as it served you.
Julian: That is not true. And that is not fair. I loved you with my whole heart and soul. I loved you more than I've ever loved another human being in my life, Eve. And what did you do to that? You trampled on it. You validated my worst fears. About love and trust -- they only exist in fairy tales. You've proven that.
Eve: I'm not going to let you pin your twisted feelings on me, Julian. You having sex with Valerie on that desk just proves to me that you are the same callous, unfeeling person today that you always were.
Julian: That's not so. I did change but apparently not enough. Not when he of the dark moods plays it to the hilt to win his wife back.
Eve: You're not trying to blame this on T.C.?
Julian: No, I really don't blame T.C. I blame you for leaving me, for returning to a man that doesn't deserve you.
Eve: I'm a doctor, Julian. He was seriously ill. He had a stroke for God --
Julian: Eve, the world is full of doctors. You are using his illness as an excuse to run away from me. And return to what? A high school gym coach with a nasty temper?
Eve: You know, T.C. is a wonderful man, Julian. And he's a loving father, and he was a devoted husband.
Julian: And that's why he divorced you when he found out about the problems in your past?
Eve: He forgave me for that, and -- and he even wanted me back. And still, when I had to choose, I chose you. A stupid mistake.
Julian: Well, if that's the way you feel, fine. What about Simone -- how he banished her when he found out she was gay?
Eve: Well, he's gotten over that now, and they've made up.
Julian: Oh, how nice for you all. It's just like, forgive and forget, especially when all the sins are kept in the family. But me, I guess I've always been an outsider, haven't I? My mistake. You see, what I thought we had, Eve, was something very special, something -- something deep and unbreakable. Remind me to have a stroke next time I'm afraid of losing the woman I love.
Eve: God, you're so vicious.
Julian: Well, his strategy worked, didn't it? Oh, poor T.C. lying half paralyzed in a hospital bed. But now he sees the error of his ways and voila -- he gets his family back.
Eve: Julian, you're so wrong if you think T.C. planned this. You know that he -- that he was apologizing to me before he even had the stroke. Because you saw the letter that he was writing.
Julian: Stop making excuses for the man.
Eve: God, I can't believe I came back in here to try and give you another chance.
Eve: That's right.
[Crying] Can you believe that? You know, I -- I thought about it and I -- I wanted to come back and apologize to you for breaking our engagement and to ask you if we could -- could get back together and start again where we used to be.
[Crying] God, it's a good thing I found out because this would have compounded my mistake.
Chad: Uh, yeah, just hang on a second. Look, it's work. I'm gonna take it outside, ok?
Whitney: God, what is wrong with Chad?
Jared: What do you mean?
Whitney: Well, I -- I don't know. I -- I guess it just seems like he's really tense tonight.
Jared: Well, I'm sure he's fine. You know, Whitney, you and I have a lot in common.
Whitney: We both love Theresa, right?
Jared: That, and we're both crazy about high-powered Crane executives.
Whitney: Well, believe me, it's not all it's cracked up to be.
Jared: Well, a lot of work hours, but that just comes with the territory.
Whitney: That's what Chad said. Well, I guess I just have to get used to it, you know?
Jared: Tell you what, I'll go get him off the phone.
Jared: You're welcome.
Theresa: You're really worried about Chad.
Valerie: How soon can you get down here?
Chad: Look, I can't see you tonight. You have to understand that.
Luis: Thanks for caring, Mom, but I'm not going to give up on Sheridan.
Pilar: Even if it means endless sleepless nights, with no guarantee that it's going to work out. You know, I hear you at night, pacing when you come in.
Luis: I'll buy you some earplugs. How's that?
Pilar: You know that I am here no matter what, right?
Luis: I know, I know.
Pilar: I have to go to church.
Luis: What? At this hour?
Pilar: Yeah, I promised Father Lonigan that I would help with the food pantry for the homeless. And we have to set up tonight. I'll see you later. Bye, mijo.
Luis: I know you're going to come back to me, Sheridan.
[Knocking on door]
Luis: It couldn't be. Or could it?
Luis: Sheridan? I knew it. I knew that you would come.
Julian: You wanted to get back together with me?
Eve: The fool that I am. Gwen convinced me that what we had was too important to just walk away from. So I thought I'd come back and see if we could work things out. Because real love is supposed to be too precious to just let get away. Then what do I find when I come in here? You and Valerie on the desk. What a fool I am to think that you had changed.
Julian: I did, Eve.
Eve: Oh, no you did not. You're the same old dark-hearted Crane you always were.
Julian: You don't believe that or you wouldn't have come back. You know that -- that what we have is too special to lose.
Eve: Thank God I found out the truth. God, I'm such a fool.
Julian: No, you're not a fool. We can put all this behind us. We could -- we can work this out. We can.
Julian: Yes. Eve --
Julian: Don't throw this away.
Theresa: You know, I thought that everything was coming together for you and Chad. So if, you know, if he's -- if he's working too much, I can fix that.
Whitney: No, no. I really don't think that it's -- it's work. I just have this horrible feeling that he's keeping something from me -- that he's got this secret that he doesn't want to tell me.
Valerie: It has to be tonight, Chad. How soon can you get here?
Chad: I can't promise you anything, but, um, I might be able to break away later on tonight. Look, I'll give you a call. Or better yet I'll text.
Valerie: All right, just try. I really need to talk to you.
Jared: Somebody's got a secret. I know what it is.
Paloma: I thought I had a big mouth. But telling off your aunt and your grandmother?
Fancy: I kind of surprised myself, too. Maybe this cadet training's making me less able to put up with anything but the truth. No matter how difficult or tough it is to say it out loud.
Paloma: So do you think you got through to Sheridan?
Fancy: Well, I hope so because I am not going to stand for what she's doing to Luis.
Paloma: Dangling him on a string you mean?
Fancy: Yeah, if she's serious about staying married to Chris, then she's got to set Luis free.
Paloma: Only one problem there. What if she's not serious about staying with Chris? What if she's considering going back to Luis? What then?
Luis: Come in.
Luis: I didn't want to get my hopes up, but I totally knew that you were going to come.
Sheridan: I had to see you.
Luis: That's all I need to hear.
On the Next Passions:
Whitney: I can't get past the suspicion that Chad is cheating on me.
Jared: Look, I heard you. I know your secret.
Luis: I didn't know what love was until I met you.
