Chad: Ha. No, you're not listening. We could still see each other after I'm married. It's not going to change a thing about us. You got it? No. No, no one is going to find out about us -- especially Whitney.

Simone: Chad?

Ethan: Theresa, what is it that you can't tell me, huh? I'm tired of all these secrets.

Theresa: Mm, just --

Ethan: What?

Theresa: I can't, ok? I can't, and it wouldn't matter anymore anyway.

Ethan: You are so upset. What is it? I don't like to see you upset.

Theresa: And why should today be different than any other day? What are you doing out here anyway, Ethan? Because when I spoke to you last, you practically tore my head off. You said that you wanted to be with Gwen, remember?

Ethan: I was having trouble sleeping, so I came out here to take a walk, but if you have nothing to tell me, then I can keep walking, Theresa. I can just --

Theresa: No, no, wait. Just wait. Just wait. Please, just give me a second. No, there is something that I -- I have to tell you. And I never thought I would, but it's time for you to hear it.

Noah: Whoa, it looks like it's closing in on the train.

Luis: Oh, my God, it's preparing to fire.

Fancy: But Marty's on that train.

Luis: Marty!

Noah: Oh, God

Fancy: No.

Luis: Oh, God. God, not my son.

Luis: Oh, jeez.

Simone: Who was that?

Chad: Who?

Simone: On the phone. Who were you talking to?

Chad: Oh, I was, um --

Whitney: Simone, hey, what are you doing here?

Simone: There you are.

Whitney: What's going on?

Simone: Whit --

Whitney: I was just in there giving thanks again for our happiness.

Simone: Well, then you were a little premature. There's something you got to hear.

Ethan: Theresa, what is it? Look -- look, no more games. If you have something to tell me, I want you to spit it out.

Theresa: No, you don't understand, Ethan.

Ethan: You're -- you're right. You're right. I don't understand, Theresa. I --

Theresa: Ok, just -- Ethan, just listen to me. Please. Just listen. What I'm about to say -- it's going to change everything, ok? But first, no matter what happens between you and me and Gwen, I need you to promise me that you will always be a part of little Ethan's life.

Ethan: Of course.

Theresa: No, I don't want you to say "of course" like it's no big deal. I mean, I want you to make a solemn vow, Ethan, that you will be there for him. You will help raise him. You will be a father figure to him. Do you swear that you will?

Ethan: Theresa -- Theresa. Yes, I promise you. I swear.

Theresa: Thank you. You don't know what that means to me. You don't know what it means to my son -- you know, to have a responsible set of eyes and ears looking out for him because he is -- he's all I got, Ethan.

Ethan: Hey, hey. What is going on? What is going on? I've never seen you like this before.

Theresa: I got to tell you something. And it is the hardest thing that I've had to do.

Sheridan: You have to let me go. I have to save my son! No!

Katherine: Sheridan, please, darling. It's all right.

Doctor: Give her a sedative. Faster here. Come on, quickly.

Sheridan: You don't understand. Marty -- Marty's in trouble.

Katherine: Thank God.

Sheridan: Help Marty please. Please, please, help Marty.

Katherine: What has happened here?

Doctor: I'm not sure. Hallucinations?

Pilar: Or premonitions.

Katherine: Oh, God. What if Sheridan is right? What if Marty is in trouble?

Pilot: No one could've survived that.

Luis: That's my son. That's Marty.

Chad: Simone, now is not the time.

Simone: She's got to hear.

Chad: No.

Whitney: Simone, honey, what's going on?

Simone: I got a call from Harmony. It's Daddy.

Whitney: What happened?

Simone: He was in a car crash.

Whitney: You're not telling me that --

Simone: No.

Whitney: That Daddy --

Simone: No, he's still alive. He's a little better, but, um, it was touch-and-go there for a minute, and he's in ICU and he's not doing well.

Chad: Oh, sweetheart, I'm so sorry.

Whitney: Um, I'm sorry. We have to get home then.

Simone: Yeah, Julian has taken care of that. He sent a special Crane detail to come find us, and we'll be flying home on a Crane jet.

Whitney: All right, that's good. Daddy would be furious to know that Crane is helping us back home, huh?

Simone: Yeah, I'll take help from the devil himself to --

Whitney: I have to write the sister a note, and then I'll be right back, ok? Then we can go.

Chad: You know, this is terrible.

Chad: You know… When I was -- when I was on the phone?

Simone: Oh, right, right. When I came in earlier -- who was that?

Chad: You didn't hear?

Simone: No, I'm sorry. I was too upset -- distracted. Let's go.

Simone: Ok.

Whitney: I can't believe this about Daddy.

Simone: Let's go. Let's go.

Ethan: You are scaring the heck out of me.

Theresa: I don't want you to be scared.  You might -- you might be glad about this actually.

Ethan: What is it?

Theresa: The death of a dream.

Ethan: The death -- you're not making sense, Theresa.

Theresa: Yeah, I am actually. You know, for the past seven years, I have hoped and prayed that my dream would come true. You know, that the two of us --

Ethan: Theresa, don't -- don't do this, ok?

Theresa: No, you're going to -- you're going to listen to me tonight, Ethan, because this is a turning point in our lives. All of those years, I have pinned my entire existence on achieving that dream -- you know, that one day I would be your wife. I would be the mother of your children. And although, you know, I am actually the mother of your child, it's come to nothing.

Ethan: Well, that dream -- that dream came to an end because of your actions. You know that.

Theresa: Maybe. Do you remember that night on the beach, Ethan? You know, the night when we made love?

Ethan: Of course, y-yes, I do, but don't --

Theresa: You know, I -- I hold that -- I hold that memory very close to me. When things get really, really bad, I close my eyes and I try to imagine the joy I felt being in your arms. You know -- you know the night, right? It was just you and me and the waves and the stars and you whispering that you loved me. Yeah, I mean, I was really happy that night because we were one, and I honestly think that that was the high point in my life.

Ethan: Don't -- don't say that. Don't say that because there is -- there is another man out there for you.

Theresa: Every moment of my life, I try to regain that feeling that I had being in your arms. But it's always just out of reach. I know you had that feeling, too, Ethan. I know it in my soul. We belong together. You know it, and I know it. And yet, you stay married to Gwen. I think that's got to be some kind of sin.

Ethan: Don't -- don't say that.

Theresa: I'm speaking the truth tonight, Ethan, and if you were honest with yourself, you would just admit it.

Ethan: I'm married. Married happily, all right?

Theresa: And yet, you left your wife's bed in the middle of the night, Ethan. Why did you do that? Did you come out here to look for me?

Ethan: No, no, I did not.

Theresa: You just wanted some air, right? Do you know that if I were in that bed with you, you never would've left because holding me in your arms would have made you feel whole --

Ethan: Don't.

Theresa: And complete.

Ethan: This -- this is going to get us nowhere.

Theresa: I know that now, Ethan. I know that now. But if this is a night for total honesty, then I need to admit that a lot of our problems have been because of me.

Theresa: I made so many mistakes, but one truth shines through every horrible mistake I ever made, and that is everything I did, I did because I love you. We belong together, Ethan -- body and soul. You know it, and I know it, but we're never going to be together. And I know that now. And my heart is broken forever.

Pilar: Chris, it's Pilar. I think you need to come back to the hospital.

Chris: Of course, Pilar, I'm on my way.

Chris: Damn it, one of those documents wasn't destroyed.

Pilot: We should get out of here, huh?

Luis: No, no, no, you circle. My son is down there.

Fancy: And my grandfather.

Luis: That devil killed my son.

Fancy: I know he was evil, but my heart doesn't know that.

Noah: Hey, Fancy, we're going to get you through this, ok?

Fancy: You're calling Interpol? Well, see if they know where that drone aircraft came from.

Luis: Interpol. This is Detective Lopez- Fitzgerald. That drone fired missiles and destroyed the bridge. The train went down into the ravine and exploded. We're over the wreckage now.

Man: We see this heat signature on our satellite. Can you see any survivors?

Luis: Negative. Are you sure you didn't send that drone after Alistair?

Man: We arrest criminals, not murder them. That drone must have been sent by one of Crane's enemies.

Luis: Look, how much time before you can get a rescue mission down there?

Man: Days.

Luis: Days?

Man: That ravine is inaccessible by road. We can only helicopter to a mountain and repel down. You might as well go back to Rome.

Luis: Oh, my God. Go back to Rome.

Pilot: Not a minute too soon.

Luis: Bye, Marty. Bye, son.

Noah: I'm sorry, Luis.

Luis: Now I know why Alistair chose that omega symbol.

Fancy: Why?

Luis: Because it means the end. That's what this is. It's the end of everything.

Whitney: I only have a few things, so it should take me like five minutes, ok?

Simone: Chad, can you help me get my suitcase down from the top of the closet?

Chad: Yeah, just a sec, ok? Hey. Listen to me -- don't you worry, ok? Coach is tough. He'll be just fine. You'll see.

Whitney: Thanks. Just say a prayer for me, ok?

Chad: You bet.

Whitney: Ok.  Oh, wait, Chad. Oh, it's Harmony. Maybe it's my mother or Julian. Hello? Hello, this is Chad's phone, but it's Whitney. Hello? I can hear you breathing. Hello?

Luis: Oh, God, I can't do this again. I might need to tell Sheridan that Marty is dead.

Fancy: We will find a way.

Noah: Luis, you can't give up on Sheridan. You know, the love you guys share is timeless. Haven't you always told me that?

Luis: Noah, you can't just get over stuff like this, you know?

Noah: Look, Luis, maybe you can't bring Marty back to Sheridan. Ok? But you can -- you can be there for each other. You can comfort each other.

Luis: Those are nice words. But it's all they are. They're just words, ok? I got to think of Sheridan right now.

Fancy: What do you mean?

Luis: What do I mean? I mean, our son is dead. It's going to kill her. And every time Sheridan looks at me, she's going to think of our son -- our son that is dead because of me. Sheridan has a chance at happiness right now. She's married to Chris. She's expecting his baby. I can't -- I can't ask Sheridan to come back to me. You know, I -- I can't do it.

Fancy: So you'll give her up for her own good?

Luis: I have no choice.

Fancy: You're amazing. I mean, where do you get this strength?

Luis: I just have to love Sheridan enough to let her go. Might kill me, but that's what I have to do.

Fancy: I can't let him be alone like this.

Noah: Whoa, whoa, wait, wait, Fancy, hold on. Look, we need to talk.

Fancy: No, Luis is in pain, Noah.

Noah: Look, I'm sorry, I know that this is a bad time, but listening to Luis right now -- it made me realize that, well, Fancy, I just can't stand idly by anymore. I love you. I want to be with you. Isn't there a way -- a way for us to find each other again?

Ethan: Maybe, um, maybe life didn't turn out the way you thought it would, but that doesn't mean life is over, Theresa. I mean, life throws us curves, right? And then -- hey, if you followed one of those curves one day, maybe -- maybe it would lead you down a path that you didn't expect, a path that might lead you to be happy.

Theresa: Is that what you have with Gwen, Ethan? Total happiness?

Theresa: I didn't think so.

Ethan: Theresa, I love Gwen.

Theresa: Right. And that's why I have to move on. And I don't think, Ethan, that there is actually anyone else out there for me. But no matter because what I thought I could have with you is lost.

Ethan: You really mean it?

Theresa: I do. You know, it's necessary. It's necessary for the -- for the children's sake. For Jane and -- and -- and for all the times that I told them that one day we would all be together -- all four of us -- and it's never going to happen. I'm done. My dream of the two of us is gone.

Ethan: Um -- I just never thought I'd -- I never thought I'd hear you say that.

Theresa: I'm locking my heart away so it can't hurt me anymore. It's over.

Chad: You know, Simone could put a dead body in this suitcase.

Whitney: I answered the phone, and they hung up and didn't say anything to me.

Chad: That's bizarre,

Simone: Hey, I'm just throwing some stuff in a bag. I'll be ready in a second. What's going on?

Whitney: Oh, I just answered Chad's phone, and whoever it was hung up on me.

Chad: It was probably just a wrong number.

Whitney: No, no, it wasn't because they were sitting there listening to me talking the whole time.

Simone: Oh, maybe it was somebody calling about Daddy. I mean, if you're worried about it, just hit the callback button and get the caller back.

Whitney: See, that's what I was worried about. Ok, that's a good idea.

Noah: Come with me. This lion has been here for hundreds of years. They call it "La Bocca Di Verita." It means the mouth of truth. Legend has it that if you put your hand inside the lion's mouth and you tell a lie, then the lion will bite your hand right off.

Fancy: Really, Noah, I don't care anymore.

Noah: Whoa, hey, but I care. Fancy, look, I love you. Ok? And I want to be with you. Maya -- she never meant anything to me, and I'm going to prove it to you.

Noah: I love Fancy Crane. I love her with all my heart, and I always will. Now, if I'm lying -- you can bite my hand off.

Noah: See?

Fancy:  Whoa, oh!

Chris: Hi. I'm here, sweetheart. I'm here.

Sheridan: Chris, how is James? Is he safe?

Chris: James is fine. Little Ethan's nanny is watching him.

Sheridan: Oh, good. We have to be careful. I'm so worried about Marty. Luis. I have to call Luis.

Chris: It was just a bad dream, darling.

Sheridan: No, it was no dream. I have to talk to Luis about Marty.

Luis:  Wow.

Luis: I'm sorry, Sheridan. I'm sorry I totally failed you. Our son is gone.

Ethan: You really mean what you say.

Theresa: Yes.

Ethan: Can't believe you're -- you're serious. I mean, I've been telling you for years to move on, but now for you actually to -- to do it, it --

Theresa: You miss me already?

Ethan: Theresa, I --

Theresa: I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I can't do that, but this has been going on a little bit too long.

Ethan: Yeah, I'll tell you, a lot of that's my fault. You know, I mean, if I'd have been stronger, maybe we wouldn't have --

Theresa: You know what? I don't even want you to blame yourself.

Ethan: Oh, I blame myself, Theresa.

Theresa: No, Ethan, please don't. Ok? I'm the one who -- who built this house of hopes and dreams, and it was a lovely house, Ethan. It was warm, and it was inviting, and I built it for you. Because I knew in my heart that one day you would realize what you needed most and you would come home to find me waiting. But enchanted houses like that -- they only look solid in the moonlight. And when the sun comes up, the harsh, true light of day shines through, and -- you know, let me just say that I've realized that you're never coming home. And the house -- well, it isn't even there. It never was.

Ethan: Theresa, don't --

Theresa: You know, I got it now. They're just words of foolishness but they were just such sweet words.

Chad: Hey, hey, Whitney, what are you doing? It's probably just a wrong number.

Simone: Yeah, maybe. 'Cause, you know, if it was someone calling about Daddy, he would call me, not Chad, right?

Whitney: Well, yeah, you're right. I suppose so.

Simone: Then forget about it unless it was another woman calling.

Whitney: Ok, stop it. That's not even funny.

Simone: Sorry, dumb joke.

Whitney: I never have to worry about Chad and another woman because Chad and I love each other, right, baby?

Chad: Oh, you got that right.

Simone: Let me go finish packing.

Whitney: You know, I feel so lucky. I cannot believe we're together again. I think this is what God wanted all along, don't you think?

Chad: Hmm, I love you, Whitney.

Whitney: I'm so glad you're with me right now.

Chad: Yeah? Why now in particular?

Whitney: Well, you know Daddy. He gets so sad sometimes. I'm just really going to need you by my side when we get home, ok?

Chad: Mm-hmm. Hey, he's going to be ok, Whit.

Whitney: Yeah, physically, but you don't know Daddy. I mean, he puts up a brave front, but something was hurt in him when he found out about my mother and Julian. Even though they broke up long before my mother and father even met, it's like he still feels like my mother cheated on him all during their marriage. So now, naturally, when my mother chose Julian over him, it's like his heart fell out from under him. You have no idea how safe you make me feel. I know I can always trust you. I love you.

Fancy: What is wrong with you?

Noah: What? Look, it was just a joke.

Fancy: Yeah, yeah, it's always a joke. Luis just lost his son, I just lost my grandfather, and Noah Bennett thinks it's time for a laugh?

Noah: Look, I'm sorry. I was just trying to cheer you up.

Fancy: Cheer me up? You scared me silly. God, you don't get it. You go through life smiling and glib and make light of every situation, but when life doesn't go your way, you try to lie your way out of it. Yes, I realize Alistair set you up, but what did you do? Instead of sitting me down and talking to me about it like a human being, you hopped into bed with Maya and went along with those ridiculous stories a child could see through.

Noah: Whoa, you didn't see through those stories.

Fancy: Yeah, because I was stupid enough to trust you -- until you broke my heart. If only you'd trusted me, in our love, you could have told me the truth.

Noah: Oh, I tried, Fancy.

Fancy: Oh, no? Maybe my grief I'm feeling for my Grampy is giving me some clarity.

Noah: Grief? You're just looking for an excuse to break up.

Noah: Is it Luis?

Sheridan: I need Luis.

Chris: Shh.

Sheridan: I have to talk to him about Marty.

Chris: It was just a bad dream, Sheridan, I'm sure Marty is ok.

Sheridan: Luis.

Fancy: Luis.

Luis: Hey. Hey. You all right?

Fancy: No.

Luis: Alistair?

Fancy: Partly. And I know it's crazy, but I do love him.

Luis: Yeah.

Fancy: But I just talked to Noah, and he wants to get back together.

Luis: Hm, sure picked an interesting time to talk about your love life.

Fancy: Yeah, that's what I said. But it's useless anyway. I mean, I don't trust him at all, Luis, and I can't be with a man I don't trust.

Luis: Let's go to the room.

Fancy: I'm sorry. Listen to me go on about my problems, and you've just lost your son from my grandfather's omega plot.

Luis: Well, I'll get through it somehow. Even though your grandfather is dead, he still managed to destroy Sheridan and me, you and Noah, Marty. Wonder what else he destroyed today.

Theresa: So I guess this is good-bye?

Ethan: No, no, it doesn't have to be good-bye. Don't say good-bye to me. We can, um -- we can be friends. We can be friends.

Theresa: I can't do that.

Ethan: We -- we can --

Theresa: No, don't. I don't want --

Ethan: Theresa --

Theresa: I don't want you to touch me right now, please.

Ethan: All right, all right, I won't. All right.

Theresa: So I'm just going to say this. I just want you to go. I want you to leave me alone, please. We are finished.

Simone: Let's go.

Whitney: Ok. Ok. All right. Oh, Chad, don't forget your phone, ok?

Chad: Yeah. Can't forget this. This is important.

Ethan: I can't believe this is happening. Sorry, I'm, uh -- you're throwing me for a loop here, Theresa.

Theresa: Don't make this harder than it already is, Ethan.

Ethan: Ok. Are you going to be all right?

Theresa: I'll have to be.

Ethan: Look, Theresa, I --

Theresa: No, no, no, I -- I don't -- I don't -- I don't want it. I don't want it, Ethan. Don't. Leave me alone, please go, please.

Theresa: No, I said leave me alone.

Noah: Oh, Theresa, what is it?

Fancy: I think you need a brandy.

Luis: Yes. No. Oh, God. How am I going to do this? How am I going to do this? How am I going to tell Sheridan that our son is dead? Oh, God.

Chris: Sheridan, do you know what time it is in Italy?

Sheridan: I don't care. Something has happened to Marty. I can feel it. Call -- call Luis. I have to speak to Luis right now.

Katherine: Darling, please.

Sheridan: You brought your laptop. Fancy has hers. Use it to call Luis. I want to speak to him face to face.

Chris: If you insist.

Sheridan: I do.

Pilar: Sheridan, sweetheart, you know this is probably foolishness.

Sheridan: Fine. Fine, it's foolishness. I need Luis.

Katherine: Sweetheart, would you like some privacy?

Sheridan: Yes. Yes, I think that that would be best.

Katherine: You be strong, ok?

Pilar: You're in my prayers.

Sheridan: Thank you.

Chris: The call is going through.

Fancy: Someone is calling the Crane system.

Fancy: Chris.

Chris: Hello, Fancy. I'm sorry to be calling at this hour, but do you know how to get in contact with Luis? Sheridan would like to speak with him.

Luis: No.

Fancy: You can do it.

Luis: All right. Hey. Is Sheridan all right?

Chris: She's -- I'll let her explain. She's right here.

Luis: Sheridan. Is everything ok? You all right?

Sheridan: Forget about me. Just answer my question. Is Marty all right?

Luis: Um --

On the Next Passions:

Sheridan: Luis, where's Marty?

Sheridan: I have to know the truth!

Luis: Marty's dead.
