Fancy: Thanks for respecting my feelings for Grandfather. I know he's done terrible things. I know people hate him, and I understand why. But I've seen a side of him over the years that makes Grandfather human to me. He can be a monster --

Noah: Fancy, he is a monster.

Fancy: But he's also the man who did this for me.

Noah: This is incredible.

Fancy: Grandfather designed it and had it built for me when I was little.

Noah: Huh. You know, it's hard to believe that a tyrant like Alistair had a hand in something like this.

Fancy: That's just it, Noah. How could a man who created something this beautiful also be a man who brings so much misery to so many people?

Kay: You have a secret? Was Alistair using it to blackmail you?

Fox: Whoa, whoa. No. In other -- you misunderstood what I was saying. What I was saying is I don't have any secrets that Alistair could hold against me to blackmail me -- any more than you have secrets that Alistair could hold against you to blackmail you. Right. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I looked over there, I saw that you were tense, little uptight, and I thought maybe it was because you thought I had secrets that I was hiding from you, and I don't want you to think that. I want you to know that I'm secret-free as far as secrets go.

Kay: Ok, ok. Well, that's not why I'm uptight.

Fox: Oh. Well, is it because of everything that happened tonight? I mean, you finding out that Alistair hired Spike to destroy Jessica's life, and then -- gee, then when the old man came to that secret passageway door thing with a knife stuck in his back, that's not a really good way to start off the new year, is it?

Kay: No. You're right, this whole situation with Alistair just has me really upset.

Fox: Look, you're too good and you're too honest to have done anything Alistair could hold against you.

Gwen: No, you're wrong. Alistair does not have any proof that my mother and I outed Ethan to the tabloids because I burned it in the incinerator.

Theresa: Well, you didn't know Alistair had his own proof until earlier tonight. He threatened to use it against you, so you tried to kill him.

Gwen: I did no such thing.

Theresa: Isn't that why you're here? Isn't that why you're ransacking Alistair's room, so that you can find the proof and destroy it before Ethan learns the truth and leaves you for me?

Katherine: Oh. Rachel -- oh, my sweet sister, you're alive. You're alive.

Sheridan: Aunt Rachel? But you can't be alive. You're dead. I killed you.

Rachel: Oh, no, Sheridan, you didn't kill me. You were just a brave little girl that night trying to protect your father.

Pilar: Well, how can this be? We saw your corpse after the tsunami, when your coffin washed into my living room.

Katherine: And I recognized the jewelry that was on the body. It was yours.

Rachel: It must have been my jewelry, but it wasn't me.

Pilar: Rachel, how -- how did you survive?

Rachel: One thing kept me alive all this time -- my hatred for Alistair.

Sam's voice: Rachel could be the person who stabbed Alistair.

Martin: You're not alone. Mansion's full of people who hate Alistair and want him dead.

Julian: Good? It has been a hell of a night, hasn't it? Father's twisted little murder party, his revealing all those secrets. The tables turned on him. Someone tried to kill him, and here we are trapped in this ice storm with Father clinging to life after being stabbed. Do you honestly think that he'll ever recover enough to tell us who tried to kill him?

Eve: At this point, I think that Alistair will pull through. I mean, unless something unexpected happens.

[Alistair groans]

Fox: Well, it's for sure that everyone in this house tonight has secrets that my grandfather could use against them, and someone felt threatened enough by them to stab him just to keep him quiet. But it's not you. You're too good. You're too honest. You don't have any secrets Alistair could use against you.

Kay: You don't know me.

{Alistair: Oh, I know something about you. I know that David Hastings wasn't your mother's first husband, and that you knew that ivy had hired him to break up your mom and dad. You did nothing to stop it. Did you? You could have stopped it, but you didn't. And once I tell Fox and your family all about that, they're going to turn their backs on you, and you'll be nothing but a pariah. }

Fox: You know what we could use?

Kay: A drink to calm our nerves.

Fox: Well, we've been drinking all night. But what I was thinking is maybe a swim.

Kay: Hmm.

Fox: We'd have the pool to ourselves.

Kay: That sounds romantic.

Fox: Hmm?

Kay: Uh-huh.

Fox: I love you. And you know what? With everything that happened tonight, I'm glad that we can trust each other enough to know that we don't have any secrets between us.

Theresa: Wait till I tell Ethan that you were plundering Alistair's room trying to find the proof that you and your mother were the ones who outed Ethan as a Bennett to the tabloids.

Gwen: Theresa, there is no proof. I burned it, remember?

Theresa: Oh, yeah, Gwen, I -- I certainly remember. But Alistair has his own proof. And that proof's going to make Ethan hate you for destroying his life. And the best part is I'm not going to have to break my promise to God. I'm not going to have to try to win Ethan away from you. Once he sees you for who you really are, he's going to leave you, Gwen. He's going to come back to me with our daughter and little Ethan. And you -- you're going to be left out in the cold.

{Theresa: Things have worked out very well for us, huh?

Ethan: Yeah? Think so?

Theresa: Mm-hmm. Alistair died --

Ethan: Mm-hmm.

Theresa: And we got married --

Ethan: Yeah.

Theresa: And you are running Crane Industries.

Ethan: Hmm.

Theresa: And our children make us proud every day.

Ethan: Yes, they do.

Jane: Mom, Dad!

Ethan: Ooh. We're in here, guys.

Theresa: Hey!

Ethan: Hey. Come here. Come here, you big girl, you. Oh!

Theresa: Oh, my goodness.

Ethan: I love your hugs.

Theresa: So, tell me, did you all have fun in the snow?

Little Ethan: Oh, we went sledding, and then we built a snowman.

Theresa: Oh, that's nice. Take your jacket off, relax. You want some hot chocolate?

Ethan: Yeah?

Jane: Thanks, Mom.

Theresa: All right. Coming up.

Ethan: All right. I'm putting some more wood on the fire.

Little Ethan: Thanks, Dad. You and Mom are the best.

Jane: Whatever happened to that skinny blond lady that made us call her "Mommy"?

Ethan: Um -- Gwen. Gwen -- that's who you mean. She -- she got caught in a lie and she had to be punished. We need more wood. Hi, this is Ethan. We need some more firewood for the fireplace, please.

Guard: Yes, sir, Mr. Winthrop. I'll get cracking on it right away.

Gwen: Ow!

Guard: Stop whining and start chopping. Mr. Winthrop needs more firewood.

Gwen: I used to be Mrs. Winthrop, you know.

Guard: A whiner and a liar.

Gwen: Ow! Ok, ok. Ow! Ow! Theresa, you are never going to be a family with Ethan and the children. You're going to be dead because I'm going to kill you. }

Katherine's voice: Sam suspects Rachel of stabbing Alistair. I have to protect her.

Sam: Ahem, so you say you've been living here in the attic for a while?

Rachel: Uh -- since autumn.

Katherine: But how?

Rachel: Oh, dear Katherine, always so curious. Your face looks so different than before. And yours, too, Martin.

Martin: Oh, well, Katherine and I had plastic surgery to elude Alistair after we left Harmony all those years ago.

Rachel: You know, I believed that Katherine was really dead. I made my plans to come back to Harmony only after I knew that she was still alive.

Ivy: We all thought you were dead, too. And then Alistair only married Katherine after he lost you in a boating accident.

Rachel: When I broke my engagement to Alistair, he couldn't accept it. He faked my death and held me prisoner at the Crane cabin for years. And then he married Katherine and had Julian and you, Sheridan. And when I finally made my escape, I came back to Harmony that night to kill Alistair. And that was the same night that he claimed that you killed me.

Sheridan: Father blamed me for taking you away from him. That costing him the love of his life is why he cost me every man I ever loved. That's why he killed Luis and Antonio.

Rachel: I am so sorry my actions caused Alistair to torture you all these years. His cruelty is beyond comprehension.

Ivy: Wait a minute -- I just thought of something. How could Alistair blame Sheridan for killing you when he knew you were alive all the time?

Rachel: Well, that's easy. Alistair didn't know that I was still alive -- until tonight.

Noah: This room -- it's -- it's like a fairy tale.

Fancy: Grampy said I was his real-life princess. That the sun rose in my eyes and set in my smile. When he'd tuck me into bed at night, Grampy would tell me how special I was. And this special room was so I'd never forget it.

Noah: You know, for once, I agree with the old man. You are special. You are special in a million wonderful ways. And so special to me. Of course, right now I can't afford to build you a room like this to show you just how special you are, but -- right now I can't even afford to build you a tarpaper shack. All I can do is love you.

Fancy: That's all I want, Noah, for you to love me as much as I love you.

Noah: That I do, my princess. That I do.

Noah: And they both lived happily ever after.

Rachel: I wish you all could have seen Alistair's face tonight when he found out that I was still alive. He actually thought I was a ghost, until it became painfully clear to him that I was all too real.

Martin: You -- wait a minute. So you came here to kill Alistair for holding you prisoner in the cabin when everyone thought that you died in the boating accident years before?

Rachel: Yes. Katherine had married Alistair by then, and Julian was a teenager, and you, Sheridan, were still a little girl. You heard me fighting with your father and you came into his room. You grabbed a letter opener and poked me with it and -- just trying to protect your father. You drew blood, but you didn't really hurt me.

Sheridan: Thank God.

Rachel: And then after they took you back to your room, I was taken from the mansion -- drugged, no less. When I woke up, I found myself on this remote estate on a cliff overlooking a sea. I didn't even know what country I was in.

Martin: So whatever Alistair had me bury in the grounds that night was to cover up one lie -- that you were still alive -- and to start another -- that Sheridan killed you, when she really didn't.

Pilar: Oh, my God, how could anyone's mind be so twisted?

Katherine: I'm confused. Why would Alistair think you were dead when he was the one who whisked you off to this private prison? And do you think that Alistair thought that -- that this body that we all saw in the coffin was you?

Rachel: He couldn't have.

Martin: Why not?

Rachel: I realized that Alistair could keep me prisoner for years, or I could try to escape, even if it meant dying, so I just --

Gwen: I am not going to let you get away with this.

Theresa: You can't stop me!

Ethan: That would be Gwen and Theresa.

Sam: Great.

Pilar: Looks like they're fighting again.

Ethan: I'll take care of it. I'll -- I got to go.

Sam: So, Rachel, you said tonight was the first time Alistair saw you since you came back to Harmony in -- in the autumn, I think you said?

Rachel: Yes. Of course, I did let him catch glimpses of me from time to time. Smell my perfume, things like that -- just to rattle his nerves.

Sam: And you kept your presence a secret because --

Rachel: I wanted to see if Alistair had changed at all, and I'm sorry to say, he has. He's even more evil than he used to be, torturing people, even his own family, and keeping couples apart.

Katherine: That's exactly what he did to Martin and me. He threatened to tell Sheridan that -- that she killed you if Martin and I didn't agree to stay away from each other. I stopped seeing Martin to keep Alistair from destroying Sheridan.

Eve: I'd better go check on Alistair.

Julian: Oh, maybe I'll make some more coffee.

Eve: Thank you, Julian -- for always taking such good care of me, for loving me, for always standing by me, no matter what.

Julian: You know, my dear, that we are a shining example of one of Alistair's biggest failures. Try as he might to tear us apart, we ended up together.

Eve: And we always will be.

[Monitor flatlines]

[Door opens]

Eve: Who are you? What are you doing? Oh, my God. You killed him! You killed Alistair Crane.

Kay: Let's get out.

Fox: I'll race you.

Kay: I'm getting on your back. Oh! Whoo, it's cold!

Fox: Ladies first.

Kay: Whoo! Whoo!

Fox: Whew.

Kay: Wow, nothing says "rich" like an indoor pool.

Fox: Yeah. And now I'm disinherited and unemployed. Good for me.

Kay: Whoo.

Fox: You know, Kay, you'd be wise to take my advice. Make strong investments. You know, plastics -- things like that. Don't go and blow your trust fund.

Kay: Oh, shoot. There goes my new year's resolution -- blow through my trust fund. So what are you going to do?

Fox: Um -- how about I just kiss you?

Fox: You know, you inspire me. You know that? I mean, you're beautiful, you're smart. You're honest. You're earnest.

Kay: Stop, stop.

Fox: Stop what?

Kay: Stop saying that I'm all those things and that I'm honest, because I'm not. I'm not honest at all.

Theresa: Once I tell Ethan Alistair has the proof that you and your mother were the ones who sent the information to the tabloid about his true paternity, he's going to -- he's going to leave you, Gwen. You will lose him. You will lose him forever.

Gwen: You can't tell Ethan anything if you are dead.

Theresa: Ah!

Gwen: Stop it!

Theresa: You get off! Get off, get off!

Ethan: Stop, come on. Get up. Get off. Enough.

Gwen: Ow.

Ethan: Stop.

Theresa: Thank God you are here.

Gwen: You saved me. She was trying to kill me.

Theresa: What? No, you tried to kill me!

Gwen: I was defending myself. She attacked me.

Theresa: Gwen, you attacked me.

Gwen: Honey, I was walking in the hallway. I was going to check on Jane. I heard a commotion. I came in here and Theresa was ransacking this room.

Theresa: No, that -- that is a lie, Ethan.

Gwen: She was muttering something to herself like Alistair had something against her. I -- she wanted to find it -- I don't know. Blackmailing her --

Theresa: No! No, that was you.

Gwen: No, she was trying to find something so she could destroy it so Alistair wouldn't expose her.

Pilar: Excuse me. I'm going to check on Theresa.

Pilar: Martin only came back to me because Katherine feared that Alistair would tell Sheridan that she killed Rachel. So my reconciliation is a sham.

Sheridan: Well, if you'll excuse me, I -- I'm desperate to find Chris and tell him that what Father said is a lie. I didn't kill you after all. You're alive and you're here in Harmony.

Rachel: Of course I am, darling.

Sheridan: Thank you. I can't wait to hear the rest of the story.

Ivy: Oh, I am so happy for Sheridan. Those nightmares have haunted her as long as I've known her. Now to know the truth -- what a blessing.

Sam: There's still so much we don't know.

Katherine: Rachel, you said that Alistair kept you in a home on a cliff by the sea. How did you escape?

Rachel: Oh, it was an accident. I fell off the cliff and into the sea.

Ivy: What?

Rachel: Thank goodness a fishing boat rescued me. And once we docked, I went into hiding until I realized that you weren't dead after all. That's when I started planning my return from the dead.

Sam: And to get revenge.

Rachel: Absolutely.

[Knock on door]

Man: Sam --

Sam: Yeah?

Man: Head of security wanted you to have this. It's the knife used to try to kill Mr. Crane.

Sam: Why do you want to give it to me? I'm not the chief of police anymore.

Man: Even so, Mr. Crane left instructions that if he was ever a victim of a criminal act, you were to run the investigation.

Ivy: Well -- are you joking? I mean, he had you fired as chief of police, and now he wants you to run his attempted-murder investigation?

Katherine: It's because Alistair knows how honest Sam is. That he'll find the responsible party and bring them to justice.

Sam: Ok, well, I'll see what I can do. Thank you.

Man: Thank you.

Sam: Rachel, you admit that you hate Alistair and you came back to Harmony to get revenge.

Katherine: Sam, please don't.

Sam: I need to ask you -- have you seen this knife before? Rachel? Have you seen this knife before?

Sheridan: What was that?

Sheridan: What happened here? Is someone here?

Eve: No, I won't let you kill him! No, I won't let you!

Fancy: Do you know you're the only man I've ever brought in here?

Noah: Really?

Fancy: Mm-hmm.

Noah: Not even that French tennis pro or the duke of whatchamacallit, the shire that they had you dating in the tabloids?

Fancy: Nope. This has always been my special place. So to share it with a man, he has to be special, too. That man is you.

Noah: What?

Fancy: Looking around reminds me of Grandfather -- that he loved me enough to do this for me. How he can be so mean to everyone else-- I just don't understand it.

Noah: Hey, do yourself a favor, ok? Don't even try.

Fancy: I can't help it. I love Grandfather in spite of everything. And knowing someone here tonight hates him enough to try to kill him really upsets me.

Noah: Well, you know, you have to think about how much Alistair must have upset somebody to make them try to kill him. All right, you heard what Alistair admitted to tonight. He loves blackmailing people, holding secrets above their heads.

Fancy: Did Grandfather have any secrets on you, Noah? Did he threaten you tonight?

Sheridan: Is someone here? Who are you? What are you doing here? Why did you trash this place? What are you looking for?

[Door closes]

Sheridan: Help! Someone help! Chris, Ethan, help. There's an intruder in the mansion. Help!

Chris: Sheridan, what's wrong?

Sheridan: Oh, Chris. Thank God you're here.

Eve: Stop it. Help! I can't let you do this. Julian, help! Who are you? Why are you trying to kill Alistair?

Julian: Eve?

Julian: What happened? Are you all right?

Eve: Oh, Julian. Thank god you got here when you did. I came in to check on Alistair and someone was in here trying to smother him with a pillow.

Julian: What?

Eve: We struggled for a little bit and when he heard you coming, he ran into the foyer.

Julian: Well, stay here.

Eve: No! No, Julian, please, no, it's too dangerous.

Julian: Well, what did this person look like?

Eve: Oh, gosh. I really couldn't tell. I mean, they -- they had on a hooded sweatshirt and their hands and arms were covered. I couldn't even tell if it was a man or a woman.

Julian: What a remarkable woman you are. You hate Father as much as anyone, yet you fought this person off. I'm not sure that I would do the same.

Eve: Oh, of course you would have.

Julian: I wonder if I walked in and found someone smothering Father, would I try to stop them or -- or would I help them finish the job?

Sam: Rachel. Is this your knife?

Katherine: Sam, don't be silly. Of course it's not her knife.

Sam: Is Katherine right?

Martin: Sam, is this really necessary?

Sam: Of course it is. Look, we all hate Alistair. Someone tried to kill him tonight. Rachel, listen to me. If it was you, I think it's in your best interest to confess now before Alistair wakes up and I.D.'s you. Ethan can prepare your defense and perhaps stop you from getting any prison time.

Katherine: Sam, please. Whoever stabbed Alistair deserves an award, not prison time.

Sam: Katherine. Rachel, you really need to answer me. Is this your knife?

Katherine: Don't answer him.

Sam: Well, she might as well. As soon as this knife is sent over to the lab for analysis, we're going to know if your fingerprints are on it or not.

Rachel: There's no need to wait for the lab results. When the knife is examined, my fingerprints will be on there. It's my knife.

Fox: So what are you talking about you're not honest? What do you mean?

Kay: Well, I've done things, Fox, things I shouldn't have.

Fox: So -- you're still upset over taking the phone off the hook so Valerie couldn't get a hold of me?

Kay: Yeah, yeah, I am, but it's --

Fox: Well, look, I mean, it's not like you tried to sabotage the whole Singapore deal, you know? I mean, it's just your plan to keep me all to yourself went bad. It was bad timing, that's all. Besides, you fessed up to the whole thing when Valerie showed up, right?

Kay: Yeah, but I should've been upfront with you before that.

Fox: Well, look, let me tell you something -- if you're thinking that's why I got fired, that had nothing to do with it. I got fired because Alistair is a bastard.

Kay: Still, I'm ashamed of what I've done.

Fox: See? There you go being honest again. I got to be honest with you -- now I feel bad. I have something to say. I -- I actually brought you here to my watery lair to seduce you.

Kay: Ooh.

Fox: Yeah. Yeah, I feel horrible. I -- I had a whole plan and everything, you know? I -- I thought maybe we could swim a little --

[Music plays]

Fox: Dance a little --

Kay: Hmm.

Fox: And, um, I don't know -- then I thought maybe I could show you how much I love you.

Kay: I see.

Fox: I'm wondering, would you be ok with that?

Kay: Dance with you?

Fox: Yeah.

Kay: I'd love to.

[Kay giggles]

Fox: Around you go.

Kay: Ooh, you have moves.

Singer: Tell her I'll be waiting in the usual place

Kay's voice: God help me if you ever find out that my silence helped your mother break up my parents' marriage.

Singer: To need a woman

Chris: Sheridan, what happened? What upset you like this?

Sheridan: Did you see anyone?

Chris: No.

Sheridan: But the person ran off in the direction you just came in.

Chris: I think I would've noticed, but that's besides the point. Are you ok? Did he hurt you?

Sheridan: No. I'm startled more than anything.

Chris: Well, as long as you're all right. My God. What a mess.

Sheridan: I came looking for you. I heard a noise and came in to investigate. Someone was in here. He ran off.

Chris: Well, whoever it was, at least you were not hurt. Here, let me fix you a brandy.

Sheridan: No. We need to find out who this person was and what they were looking for.

Chris: Sheridan, I'm not going to let you put yourself at risk like that. Let security handle this.

Sheridan: You're right. Oh, my God. I can't believe I almost forgot to tell you.

Chris: What?

Sheridan: The woman we heard crying through the duct work -- you're not going to believe this, but it's my Aunt Rachel.

Chris: Rachel? The aunt your father said you'd killed?

Sheridan: He lied. I didn't kill her. I didn't murder anyone.

Chris: Sheridan, that's incredible news. It's beyond incredible.

Sheridan: I know. Isn't it? I didn't murder anyone. I didn't murder anyone.

Theresa: You lying witch. I wasn't the one tearing Alistair's room apart. It was you!

Gwen: No, it wasn't me.

Theresa: Yes, it was. You -- you were searching for the proof. Ethan, the proof still exists that she and her mother were the ones that outed you as a Bennett to the tabloids. I'm telling you the truth!

Gwen: Oh, for God's sake, are you still on this? It was not me and my mother, ok? Forget the fact that the information from the tabloids came from your computer.

Theresa: Because you set me up!

Gwen: Oh, yeah. It was all part of a big conspiracy to make you look bad in front of Ethan.

Theresa: Finally, the truth, Gwen!

Ethan: Look, this is my wife, Theresa. I have to believe what she's telling me.

Theresa: Well, your wife is lying to your face!

Pilar: What is going on in here? What is all this yelling?

Ethan: Pilar, I don't know. Ask Theresa. Gwen and I are out of here.

Theresa: Oh, it's just Gwen trying to make me look bad in front of Ethan.

Gwen: Uh, no. You've managed to do that all by yourself.

Theresa: Shut up!

Ethan: All right, will you please tell your daughter to stop her scheming? Her lies are getting crazy. Come on, let's go.

Theresa: You know what, Ethan, I'm not lying to you and you will learn the truth. I promise you that.

Pilar: Theresa? All this ranting and raving -- it's not going to --

Theresa: Oh.

Pilar: Well, what's that look? Why are you smiling if Ethan is obviously so upset with you?

Theresa: I've got Gwen on the run, Mama. Actually, Alistair does.

Pilar: I don't understand what you're saying.

Theresa: Well, I found her in here searching for the proof, the proof that's going to cost her her marriage to Ethan. She knows her time is running out.

Sam: So you admit this is your knife? So do you also admit stabbing Alistair with it?

Rachel: Certainly not. It is my knife. I used it to scare Alistair, not try to kill him.

Katherine: Of course you didn't.

Martin: You know, Katherine, what Rachel has to understand is that the mansion is full of people who wanted Alistair dead.

Katherine: Yes. Any one of us could've stabbed Alistair including me.

Sam: Well, not necessarily.

Ivy: I don't follow.

Sam: Alistair was stabbed with this knife, the same knife you admitted having in your possession tonight. Now, what I need to know is how your knife wound up in Alistair's neck if you didn't stab him with it.

Sheridan: Well, whoever tore apart this library must be the same person who tried to kill my father.

Chris: Why would you think that?

Sheridan: Well, they were obviously looking for something, most likely something that my father is blackmailing them with. And with my father still alive, the threat remains as long as there's proof to back it up.

Chris: But if they found the proof and destroyed it, they'd be safe.

Sheridan: My father finally pushed someone too far and they pushed back.

Chris: Well, either that or the person who ransacked this library isn't the same person who stabbed Alistair.

Sheridan: If that's the case, then the would-be killer might strike again.

Julian: Someone certainly wants to see Father dead this evening.

Eve: Whoever it was, they hated Alistair with a passion. I could actually feel their rage towards him.

Julian: So far tonight, they've -- they've tried to kill him twice. I don't think they're going to stop till they succeed.

[Monitor beeps]

Fancy: Noah, did my grandfather threaten you?

{Alistair: Oh, well, you see, I have a certain file, a certain file on you.

Noah: A file? Great. What kind of file?

Alistair: Well, it's very, very interesting reading. It concerns you and your former girlfriend.

Noah: Where did you get that?

Alistair: Oh, it's not important where I got it or how I got it. The most important thing is that once my granddaughter sees this, she'll never want to see Noah Bennett ever again. }

Noah: No. No, no, no. Alistair didn't threaten me.

Fancy: Thank goodness. I was afraid Grandfather would try to come between us even though he gave you a chance to prove yourself. But if he did, it doesn't matter. Nothing will ever come between us again. We really are going to live happily ever after.

Singer: I'm a slave to love da na na na

Kay: Hmm.

Fox: Is this perfect, or what, huh?

Singer: Slave to love

Fox: The two of us happy together, happy to be together -- it's perfect. It's never going to change.

Singer: Na na na slave to love

Kay's voice: Nothing is perfect, Fox. If Alistair lives to expose Ivy and me for our roles in my mother leaving my father for David Hastings, nothing will ever be perfect again.

Gwen: I cannot believe Theresa's gall -- trying to convince you that I was rummaging through Alistair's room looking for proof that I outed your paternity so I could destroy it before Alistair destroyed me? I don't even know what I'm saying. I mean, of course I believe it. You know, she lied to God about promising to stay away from you, so why wouldn't she lie to you about me?

Ethan: Gwen, I believe you. It's ok.

Gwen: Honey, Theresa scares me. She already tried to kill Alistair twice and then again tonight. When the roads clear, can we please just take Jane and get out of here?

Ethan: Gwen, come on.

Gwen: Listen, I'm afraid if we don't, that Theresa's going to try and kill me next.

Pilar: What about the promise you made to God to not pursue Ethan?

Theresa: I'm not going to have to break my promise to God. See, Gwen's duplicity is going to cost her Ethan, leaving him free to be with me. All I have to do is prove that Gwen's lying, and she's afraid I will.

Pilar: Oh, so -- and how are you going to do that, Theresa?

Theresa: Well, Mama, the proof -- the proof still exists that she and her mother were the ones who outed Ethan as a Bennett to the tabloids and it is somewhere in this mansion. All I have to do is find it and then Ethan will finally be mine.

On the Next Passions:

Rachel: Why is Pilar's happiness more important than yours?

Pilar: Are you coming back to me or are you going back to Katherine?

Kay: I have to tell him that you paid David to break up his marriage to my mom.

Martin: Bad news -- Alistair's awake.

Fancy: Tell us who tried to kill you.
