Pilar: God forgive me, but I cannot pray for that man to live.

Katherine: None of us can, Pilar.

Martin: If anyone deserves to die, it's Alistair Crane. I mean, we could pray for his soul, if he had one.

Katherine: I just want his black heart stopped and his life ended so he can never destroy another life.

Rebecca: Honey, why can't Eve just let him die? Then he could never threaten us again.

Gwen: Mother, Eve has to do what she has to do, just like we have to do what we have to do.

Rebecca: Just keep your fingers crossed that she can't help him.

Gwen: Well, you know I don't believe in luck and fate like Theresa. No, I'm going to take action.

Noah: How are you holding up?

Theresa: I'm praying. I'm praying for Alistair to die. You know, I just wish that he had suffered more, because I'd really enjoy watching him suffer.

Noah: Yeah, I know. Your life has been just a living hell recently.

Theresa: Well, I mean, he raped me over and over again. And he's tried to take my children from me. And he's responsible for both of my brothers' deaths, so, yeah, I want him dead. And if that makes me a horrible, evil person, then I guess I am.

Noah: Theresa, look, I know how you feel, all right? More than you think.

Kay: Can't you do a spell and just finish him off?

Tabitha: Hmm. There are times when a spell is too risky, Kay. And as much as I admire Alistair's evil, he often went too far even for me. Sometimes, the old-fashioned methods are best, if you know what I mean.

Kay: Yeah, I know exactly what you mean.

T.C.: Liz, you don't have to wait on me. You know, in fact, I wish you would just leave me the hell alone.

Liz: T.C., relax. Drink your drink. You heard Sam. Who knows how long we're going to be here.

T.C.: Yeah, you're right. I don't mind sitting around watching Alistair die.

Liz: It's too bad whoever stabbed him didn't quite finish the job.

T.C.: Maybe they thought they did.

Liz: Or maybe they didn't have enough time.

Ivy: Sam, do you really think that the police are going to charge somebody with murder here tonight?

Sam: They'll want to question everyone here, if they can make it through this.

Ivy: Yeah. It's really bad out there, isn't it?

Sam: It stopped raining, but the whole damn state is covered in ice. It's way too dangerous to leave. I just wish I could get you home, you know? You've been through so much tonight.

Jessica: It'll be ok, Daddy. Besides, you said everyone here is suspect. That means us, too, doesn't it?

Sam: Yeah. Us, too.

Jessica: So, I guess that means we all have to stay and be questioned.

Julian: Doesn't seem to be working. Perhaps you should give up.

Eve: His heart is pumping, even though it's weak.

Julian: Are you saying you think you can save him?

Eve: I'm saying I have to keep trying a little harder. Even though we are going to have to face the fact that no matter what I do he is probably going to die.

Julian: If he does, one of us in this room is a murderer.

Julian: There's barely a heartbeat.

Eve: But if I can get his heart rate up, maybe he can survive long enough to get to the E.R.

Julian: What do you have in mind?

Eve: Well, I really need to shock him. I'm surprised that Alistair doesn't have a defibrillator in his medical equipment. Maybe we can rig one up. Oh, I could use some help here.

Fancy: Please, won't someone help him? My grandfather is dying. Please, someone help him. Noah, please. I know he treated you and your family terribly, but please help him. If you help save his life, I know he'll be so grateful that he'll do everything he can to make it up to you all. He'll make it up to us. He'll accept you as the man I love.

{Noah: There you are, you son of a bitch.

Alistair: Hello, Noah.

Noah: I know what you did to my sister.

Alistair: The whore or the one with the bastard kid?

Noah: Oh, you son of a --

Alistair: Don't.

Noah: You think you own this town, don't you?

Alistair: I don't think I own this town. I do own this town. I'm the one who makes sure of what happens here -- who sleeps with whom, who becomes a success, who only scrapes by. To me, you're all just a bunch of puppets.

Noah: Look, you don't own --

Alistair: Of course I do. That's why you're in such a rage.

Noah: I'm in a rage because of the evil you push on everybody.

Alistair: Oh, really? Well, you certainly didn't rattle me by that ad in the paper about a murder here.

Noah: I told you, that wasn't me.

Alistair: Oh, it wasn't you? Well, actually, it did inspire me to have my own bash here. I'm going to invite every pathetic citizen of this miserable town, have them all in one place, and then I'm going to destroy them, including you. And once I'm finished, there won't be a man or woman standing.

Noah: What are you talking about?

Alistair: I'm talking about revealing everyone's dirty secrets. And that earthquake and tsunami are going to look like a walk in the park.

Noah: You sick creep.

Alistair: Oh, come on, is that all you can come up with?

Noah: Oh, I could do a heck of a lot better than that if you weren't hiding behind that gun.

Alistair: Well, this is a distinct disadvantage for you, but I do have something stronger to stop you.

Noah: Why are you talking in riddles?

Alistair: Oh, you see, I have a certain file, a certain file on you.

Noah: A file? Great. What kind of file?

Alistair: Well, it's very, very interesting reading. It concerns you and your former girlfriend.

Noah: Where did you get that?

Alistair: Well, it's not important where I got it or how I got it. The most important thing is that once my granddaughter sees this, she'll never want to see Noah Bennett ever again.

Noah: No, you can't do that to her. Look, I'm not going to let you do that.

Alistair: Oh, really? What are you going to do, kill me? }

Fancy: Noah, what's going on? You look as if you're ready to kill someone.

Noah: What? I'm sorry, it's nothing.

Fancy: Then do something. Please, I'm begging you. You have to help Eve save my grandfather's life.

Noah: All right, all right. Ok, what can I do?

Eve: Oh, Noah, good. Find a lamp. Rip out the cord. Help me rig up some kind of defibrillator.

Noah: Ok.

Eve: Julian, can you do the same thing? I need some kind of paddles. Maybe you have some plastic plates around here?

Rebecca: What? Plastic plates, here?

Eve: Julian, can you find something, anything?

Julian: Do you think it'll work?

Eve: Well, I don't know, but it's the only thing that we can do right now. And if we don't do something, Alistair will die.

Noah: Hey, we found these Frisbees in the nursery and the pans in the kitchen.

Eve: Plug them in.

Julian: All right. Here.

Noah: All right.

Eve: All right. I'm going to try it. Stand back.

Theresa: Please don't let it work. Please let Alistair die.

Gwen: So do you think Theresa did it?

Ethan: What?

Gwen: Honey, do you think she is the one who stabbed Alistair? I mean, she already tried to kill him twice.

Ethan: Honey, everyone in this room wanted to kill Alistair, with the exception of Fancy.

Gwen: I know that, including us, right?

Ethan: You can't deny that.

Eve: Let's try it again.

Julian: Still nothing.

Eve: All right. Let's do it again.

T.C.: Ah.

Liz: T.C. Aren't you freezing out here?

T.C.: No. I'm fine. Stopped raining. I don't know why the hell Eve is trying to save that monster's life.

Liz: Why? Because my noble sister thinks it's her duty to save lives even while she destroys the lives of the people that she's supposed to love.

T.C.: Liz, I don't want to hear you badmouth Eve anymore, ok? Just, please, just leave me alone.

Liz: I can't go anywhere, T.C., and neither can you. We're stuck here until the storm is over and until the police can come and question all of us. Who do you think tried to kill Alistair?

T.C.: I don't have an opinion. All I know, whoever tried to do it was trying to do us all a favor. So why don't they just let that depraved maniac just die?

{Alistair: Happy New Year, baby.

Liz: Get away from me, you pig.

Alistair: Oh, you're right. No celebratory kiss from you. The person who's not going to have a very good new year, anyway.

Liz: What are you talking about, Alistair?

Alistair: Well, I'm predicting your future. And all I can see is you having a very, very, very bad year, because tonight, I am going to reveal that little secret to Eve. You know, that little secret you kept from her, and you caused her all that pain and suffering. And when she hears about that, she's going to feel relieved and happy.

Liz: You're bluffing.

Alistair: No, I'm not. You won't have any chance to hurt her again. You're going to be ruined. In fact, you're going to be dead in the water.

Liz: Not if I make sure you're dead first. }

Liz: It's too cold out here. I'm going to go back.

{Alistair: So you see, T.C. and Eve, I'm the one responsible for little Simone's new love life. I'm the one who paid the woman to seduce her. I think she did a rather great job, very gentle and subtle. I should probably give her a bonus. What do you think?

T.C.: Alistair, I will kill you. I swear, I'll kill you! You crossed the line, Alistair, one line too many. Now you can never, ever go back. }

Rachel: So many people want you dead, Alistair. But no one more than I.

Julian: Well?

Eve: Well, his heart rate is better, but his blood pressure is still too low. I need to close that wound.

Noah: I guess it's impossible to do surgery here.

Eve: Well, it's just too risky without the proper life-support systems.

Julian: Oh, dear. That means he may still die in spite of what we've done to try to save him.

Eve: Yes, Julian. Look, as much as I know that all of you -- all of us -- wish him dead, I can't be the one responsible for letting him die.

Theresa: Why not, Dr. Russell? Why can't you just get up and walk away? Because none of us would say that you were negligent in your duty.

Fancy: Shut up, you bitch. I would say Eve was negligent, and I would press charges.

Noah: Fancy, look, calm down, all right? Dr. Russell is doing everything she can.

{Alistair: Well, where do you think you're going? I thought I told you I wanted to have sex before that party tonight.

Theresa: I'm going to see my son.

Alistair: You mean my son.

Theresa: Little Ethan will never be your son, Alistair.

Alistair: I've already adopted him. You know that.

Theresa: No, no, no, I don't know that. When did you do that? Because I didn't give you my permission, Alistair. I didn't give you my consent.

Alistair: You know, sometimes you're like a child.

Theresa: Oh, my God.

Alistair: No, you see, I did adopt little Ethan. He is my son and the sole heir to my fortune. And after tonight, not one of you weaklings is going to be around.

Theresa: What are you talking about?

Alistair: I'm talking about destruction. I'm going to destroy this entire town, including you. And the only two people that are going to be left standing are little Ethan and me.

Theresa: No.

Alistair: He's my boy. He's going to have ice water in his veins. He's going to have the strength to crush anything that gets in his way.

Theresa: I will never let you turn my son into you. I will protect him! I will do whatever I have to do to make sure he doesn't turn out like you!

Alistair: What are you going to do, this time? I mean, you already tried to kill me twice, and you came very close to killing the man you love.

Theresa: You were supposed to be poisoned, not Ethan!

Alistair: Oh, that's all water under the bridge, isn't it? Why don't you just give up? }

Theresa: Well, they say the third time is a charm.

Gwen: Thank you.

Ethan: You're welcome. It's a good thing the bar is well stocked. Looks like it's going to be a long night.

Gwen: I know. I just wish Alistair would die already, you know, and then the police can come and arrest Theresa and then she would be out of our lives for good.

Ethan: Honey, I just got done saying there's a lot of people in this room that wanted Alistair dead. It could have been anyone.

Gwen: I know that. Just wishful thinking.

Rebecca: Gwen? Can I speak to you for a moment? Mm-hmm?

Gwen: I'll be right back.

Ethan: Ok. Well, there's some people that wanted Alistair dead more than others. Ah, there you are.

{Alistair: Ah, there you are, the luckiest man in Harmony.

Ethan: Luckiest?

Alistair: Well, yes. Everyone thought you'd be dead by now. And I wouldn't have to have this conversation.

Ethan: What conversation is that?

Alistair: The one where I tell you to take your wife and leave and find someplace else to freeload.

Ethan: Oh, freeload? Freeload -- you're the one that insisted that we live here.

Alistair: Yes, but now I want you to leave. I want you to get the hell out of here.

Ethan: Alistair, that would be fine. We're way ahead of you. I'm taking Gwen, I'm taking Jane. We are getting the hell out of here.

Alistair: Whoa -- just a second I told you and Gwen to leave. I didn't mention anything about little Jane.

Ethan: You don't think I'm going to leave my daughter here, do you?

Alistair: Well, you don't have a choice, because little Janie is going to stay here with Theresa and me.

Ethan: Over my dead body that'll happen.

Alistair: That can always be arranged.

Ethan: Alistair, you are not going to keep my daughter away from me. You hear me?

Alistair: I can do anything I decide to do. And, oh, by the way, you really didn't shake me up so much with that ad in the newspaper.

Ethan: I didn't put an ad in the newspaper.

Alistair: Oh, so you're not the one who said there was going to be a murder here tonight?

Ethan: No, no. Alistair, that's your speed. That's not mine.

Alistair: Oh. Actually, it gave me an inspiration to have my own New Year's Eve bash so I can clean the slate.

Ethan: "Clean the slate." What slate? What are you talking about?

Alistair: Well, the party will give me an opportunity to get rid of all you people. You see, I thought Gwen would have pulled the plug on you and you would be six feet under by now.

Ethan: Alistair, she had every right to pull the plug on me. Every test indicated that I wasn't going to come out of the coma.

Alistair: I know. I saw the results. I changed them.

Ethan: You what?

Alistair: Well, I saw the results, looked like you were going to be fine, so I changed them. Look, I wanted Gwen to pull the plug. I wanted to get rid of you.

Ethan: You let everyone believe that I was in an irreversible coma and that I wasn't going to come out of it? And you were willing to let my wife just go through that, let me go like that?

Alistair: Well, I would have told her once you're gone. I mean --

Ethan: You're sick. You are a sick man. Why would you even do something like that to Gwen, Gwen, of all people, who would never hurt anybody?

Alistair: Whoa, whoa, whoa, just a minute. You don't know some of the dishonest things --

Ethan: What --

Alistair: That Gwen has done.

Ethan: What dishonest things?

Alistair: Certain things a husband should know about his wife, and you will.

Ethan: You're lying to me. You are a sick man and you are lying to me. Gwen would never lie to me. And I don't want to hear one more word come out of your stinking mouth, Alistair. You're a disgusting old man. And you don't even deserve to live. You know that?

Alistair: And just what are you going to do about that, Ethan? }

Rebecca: You know, this whole thing is starting to make me nervous. I mean, why can't Alistair just die? Then we can have our New Year's Eve party and everybody will have a reason to celebrate.

Gwen: I know. I thought for sure Alistair would be dead by now.

Rebecca: Hmm. Did you?

Gwen: Yeah, I did. Didn't you?

Rebecca: Well, it certainly would be the best thing for both of us.

{[Footsteps]

Alistair: Ah. Which one of you two put this ad in the newspaper?

Gwen: What are you talking about?

Rebecca: Oh, Alistair, after everything we've meant to each other. How could you think I would do this?

Alistair: We have had a few rolls in the hay. Did you put the ad in the newspaper or not?

Rebecca: No, of course not.

Gwen: Why do you think we would do that?

Alistair: Well, because I know you're both so good at communicating with the press, especially the tabloids.

Gwen: What are you talking about?

Alistair: Oh, you know what I'm talking about. I was just wondering whether or not you're going to pin this one on Theresa, as well.

Rebecca: Wha-- no, no, really, we don't know.

Gwen: Actually, we really don't know what you're talking about.

Alistair: Oh, come on, ladies. Don't play innocent with me. I know how you got the information about Ethan's paternity. You got it off of Theresa's laptop. And then you took that information, emailed it to the tabloids, and convinced Ethan that it was Theresa who sent it.

Gwen: Oh, God.

Rebecca: Look --

Alistair: Hmm?

Rebecca: Alistair, I'm not admitting anything here.

Alistair: Uh-huh.

Rebecca: But honestly, what person in their right mind would allow that little tramp to stick her hooks into Ethan?

Alistair: You mean my wife?

Rebecca: Yes, your wife. That is the tramp.

Alistair: Well, she is a tramp, but she's my tramp.

Gwen: Ok, Alistair, you have this information. What are you planning to do with it?

Alistair: I'm going to tell Ethan the truth and watch you lose a husband. You should have taken him off life support some time ago.

Gwen: Well, thank God I didn't.

Alistair: Well, it's a pity. I would have told you that Ethan was just fine.

Gwen: What?

Alistair: Well, I changed his test results. I wanted to make you think that he would never recover.

Gwen: No, you couldn't have done that.

Rebecca: What -- you knew that Ethan's condition wasn't permanent?

Alistair: That's right.

Gwen: My God, I feel sick.

Alistair: Oh, you always were a weak sister, Gwen. You see, you didn't pull the plug, and that means I had to change my game plan.

Rebecca: What game plan?

Alistair: Well, now I have to tell Ethan about your ugly little secret. And once he learns that, you can both watch him run back to the true love of his life, Theresa.

Rebecca: You are never going to get away with this. And you -- you are an evildoer, and you are lousy in bed, too.

Alistair: Touché. How are you going to stop me, Becky?

Rebecca: We will. I don't really care what it takes. We will stop you.

Alistair: Oh. }

{Alistair: You don't deserve any joy in your life, because you took away the only joy I ever had in mine. You also took away the one person I could truly be happy with. You killed her. You killed Rachel, and that's something I will never forgive you for.

Sheridan: You've caused me nothing but pain since I was a little girl, Father. You can't cause me any more pain now. I've made sure of it.

Katherine: Sweetheart, I'm worried about you. Are you all right?

Sheridan: I feel like I'm losing my mind, Mother. I've spent my entire life thinking that I killed someone. Father led me to believe that it was you, so I had to live with the pain and the guilt and the unanswered questions. And then you came home and I was so happy. I thought for sure my nightmares would go away because I hadn't really killed someone.

Katherine: I know, darling. I'm so sorry.

Sheridan: Then I found out that I did kill someone. I killed your sister.

Rachel's voice: No, Sheridan, I'm here. I'm alive.

Sheridan: I think your sister was the only person that Father ever truly loved. And when I killed her, he was so angry with me that he decided to destroy everyone that I ever loved. It's because of me that Luis and Antonio are dead. So not only have I committed one murder, I've committed many murders.

Katherine: Sheridan, none of this is your fault. Alistair is responsible for all of it. All of it is his doing.

Sheridan: I'm a murderer.

Katherine: Sheridan, stop saying that.

Sheridan: You don't understand, Mother. I am a murderer.

Katherine: What are you saying? }

Chris: Sheridan, here you are. Are you all right?

Sheridan: I will be now. Has my father's condition changed at all?

Chris: Dr. Russell is still working on him. I'm sorry you had such a bad evening.

Sheridan: You're here. Thank God my father wasn't able to take you away from me, too.

{Chris: Sheridan's your daughter. How can you treat her so horribly? Do you realize you've destroyed her?

Alistair: I haven't even finished yet.

Chris: Not finished? Good God, man. What are you going to do to her next?

Alistair: Nothing right now. But I'm going to reveal everything I know about you. That way I can destroy both you and Sheridan. And you know I will, because I can.

Chris' voice: Alistair can never hurt you again, Sheridan. }

{Alistair: What do you want, Katherine?

Katherine: I want you dead.

Alistair: Well, this isn't news. What else?

Katherine: I want you to suffer, miserably, for what you've done to my daughter.

Alistair: Well, Sheridan, she seems to be alive and kicking.

Katherine: You told her that she killed my sister, and we had an agreement.

Alistair: Yes, we did have an agreement -- that you would come back to me, Martin would be allowed to go back to Pilar if I kept the secret that Sheridan was a murderer.

Katherine: Yes, so why did you tell her?

Alistair: Well, you broke the agreement by putting that ad about murder in the newspaper.

Katherine: Alistair, I didn't put any ad in the newspaper.

Alistair: Well, of course you did, just like all of those rose petals you've been putting around here, all scented with her scent, and you know the her I'm talking about, and the only one who would know about that is you.

Katherine: Alistair, I didn't send you anything, and I don't know what you're talking about, but you should have talked to me before you broke Sheridan's heart.

Alistair: Well, I was going to tell Sheridan tonight anyway. All of the secrets are going to become revealed and everyone would be destroyed, including you.

Katherine: Oh, Alistair, you destroyed me a long time ago. But you have destroyed the daughter I love more than anyone on this earth. You can't do any more damage to me.

Alistair: There are a few people that you love that I can still damage.

Katherine: Julian? He's suffered enough, and I don't think there's anything more you can do to him.

Alistair: I'm not talking about your son, Katherine. I was talking about Martin.

Katherine: What about him?

Alistair: Oh. I have great plans for your lover.

Katherine: Alistair, you leave him alone.

Alistair: Oh, no, no, no. I'm going to take great pleasure in ruining Martin Fitzgerald. And he's going to rue the day that he ever took you away from me.

Katherine: No, Alistair. You will rue the day you ever met me. And when I'm done with you, you will be sorry I ever came into your life. }

Julian: Mother? Are you all right?

Katherine: Yes, Julian. And soon, we will all be all right.

Rachel: My dear sister, have I pushed this all too far? Have I opened a Pandora's box? Well, it's too late to close it now.

ivy: Oh. Fox, are you all right?

Fox: Yeah. Yeah, I'm ok. How's Grandfather in there?

Ivy: Well, Eve's doing the best she can, but he's not responding.

Fox: Oh.

Tabitha: It's unfortunate we've got this ice storm just when somebody needs transport to the hospital.

Kay: Unfortunate for Alistair, that's for sure.

Ivy: Yeah, yes.

Fox: Can you think of anyone besides Fancy who wants him to survive?

Ivy: Hmm -- nope. No. Well, certainly not the person who tried to kill him, whoever that may be.

Theresa: Why won't Dr. Russell just give up? I mean, I want this to be over.

Martin: So do we all. {I'm going to wring the life out of you with my bare hands and enjoy every second of it.

Alistair: Oh, come on. First of all, you're not man enough, and, secondly, I can't even count the number of times you've threatened to make me pay for my supposed sins.

Martin: This time it's different.

Alistair: Oh, how can it be so different, huh? You're still the gutless wonder. And when it comes to me, you're completely impotent and God knows who else.

Martin: You know, you underestimate me, Alistair.

Alistair: Oh, I really don't think so. }

Martin: Some of us want to see Alistair dead more than others.

{Pilar: You are going to pay for what you did to my sons. You may have all the power in the world, Alistair, but I swear it, you will be held accountable.

Alistair: Oh, I suppose that's a threat. Are you going to kill me, or is your preciousMartin going to dredge up some guts?

Pilar: Martin is more of a man than you will ever be.

Alistair: Oh, come on. You are defending a man I blackmailed into going back to you.

Pilar: That's a lie.

Alistair: No, it's not a lie. We made a deal, the three of us. Katherine and Martin were going to sacrifice their love if I promised not to tell Sheridan that she killed Rachel. But now that the cat is out of the bag and Sheridan knows that she did kill Rachel and she's a murderer, I wonder how long it's going to take before Martin goes back to Katherine's bed and before long Theresa will be back in mine. And who's going to be in yours? I imagine it's going to be empty.

Pilar: You burn in hell, you sick, evil man!

Alistair: Oh, God. The angelic Pilar has a temper.

Pilar: God, yes, I have a temper! And I promise you, not only will I get angry, oh, God, I'll get even. }

Rachel: What have I done? Oh, I thought I could live with myself, but I can't. It's too late to justify what I've done. Things have gone too far. And it's too late to stop what has happened.

Eve: If I could have everyone's attention, it seems our little invention has worked. Alistair is stable for the moment.

Katherine: You mean he's going to live?

Theresa: No.

Pilar: Desgraciado.

Eve: He's out of danger for the moment.

Rebecca: Oh. So Alistair's going to survive?

Eve: That's the way it looks. Yeah.

Fancy: Oh, thank God.

Sam: Well, you know what this means. When Alistair regains consciousness, he'll be able to tell us who tried to kill him.

{Fox: I can't think of a single soul who wouldn't be happy to see you dead.

Ivy: The only death I wish for is yours, Alistair. I hate you.

Julian: I swear to you, if you try to hurt Eve, you will be the one wishing your life did not go on.

Kay: And I will stop you no matter what I have to do.

Tabitha: I'll do whatever it takes to stop you dead, and I mean dead!

Theresa: You were supposed to be poisoned, not Ethan!

Ethan: You don't even to deserve to live. You know that?

Rebecca: We will stop you.

Katherine: When I'm done with you, you will be sorry I ever came into your life.

Noah: I'm not going to let you do that.

Alistair's voice: Oh, really? What are you going to do, kill me?

Liz: Not if I make sure you're dead first.

Pilar: Yes, I have a temper! And I promise you, not only will I get angry, oh, God, I'll get even. }

Sam: I have no doubt that he will follow through on his threat to expose every secret of every person in this room, one by one.

On the Next Passions:

Eve: You are a miserable, lonely woman. I may have my troubles, Liz, but at least I have a life.

T.C.: Oh, hell, no.

Fox: Let's just get it all out in the open. You know, let's just talk about these secrets, huh?

Katherine: Is it really you?
