Ivy: Well, at least you don't smell like a cannery anymore.
Fancy: Mother, I told you to leave me alone.
Ivy: I asked you a question and I would like an answer.
Fancy: I forget the question.
Ivy: Don't be tedious, Fancy. Whose life are you about to ruin now?
Noah: Look, you're probably right. Now's not the right time to go talk to Jessica.
Ethan: Yeah, let's let her stew for a while. She'll calm down later.
Kay: I can't believe she slapped you, Noah.
Noah: Huh. I can't believe she actually thinks that creep Spike is her boyfriend.
Sam: I have a few questions for you.
Noah: Um -- what about, Dad?
Sam: One of my men told me you were outside Spike's club last night after the fire started.
Noah: That's right, I was.
Sam: I hope to hell you had nothing to do with starting that fire.
Noah: From what Ethan's told me, it looks like I'm just joining the big brothers' club.
Sam: What the hell does that mean?
Ethan: Dad, I told him about Fox, Chad, and me busting up Spike's other club.
Sam: What does that have to do with starting the fire?
Noah: Everything. Look, neither one of us wants to see our little sister, Jessica, hurt by a creep like Spike.
Spike: Hello, Jessica. Did you miss the Spike man, baby?
Gwen: Hello? Is someone in there?
Rebecca: Somebody must be in there. We heard a noise.
Pilar: Oh, god. Te lo dije. I told you this was a bad idea. Now, Gwen and Rebecca are going to find you in here and they're going to use it to take Jane away from you.
Theresa: No, no, no. We can't let that happen, Mama. We can't!
[Knock on door]
Gwen: Who is in there? You know, I'm going to call security.
Katherine: I don't want Alistair to find you. You'd better go.
Martin: All right.
Alistair: It's too late. I thought I told you to get out of my house, Martin. But, as usual, you don't listen.
Katherine: He's leaving now, Alistair.
Alistair: I said it was too late. I'm not only going to throw you off of my estate, I'm going to make sure that you disappear forever.
Sheridan: We have to stop her, Luis. She's threatening to kill the baby. Beth, you can't do this!
Beth: Yes, I can, Sher-Sher! I'll kill myself and Marty. I would rather see my baby dead than with you!
Sheridan: Marty is my son! Don't hurt him!
Beth: If you don't want me to hurt him, then leave so I can escape!
Sheridan: Fine, go on and escape. We don't care where you go, just leave Marty behind. Please, don't take him away from me again.
Beth: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Marty comes with me. And if you try to stop me, I swear, I will kill myself and the baby!
Beth: I mean it! Both of you! Get out of here, or I swear, I'll do it!
Sheridan: Luis, what are we going to do? We can't let her hurt the baby.
Luis: Look, Sheridan, just calm down, ok? Beth isn't about to hurt herself or Marty.
Sheridan: How do you know that? She's totally insane!
Luis: Because she loves Marty, ok? She would never do anything to hurt him.
Sheridan: How do you know? You didn't think she was capable of kidnapping me and stealing my baby, but she did!
Luis: I know, but that was totally different.
Sheridan: No. You know what? There are no "buts." You can't deal with this as if you know what Beth is going to do, because right now she's capable of anything. So you need to get into that cabin and get my son. You promised me my son!
Luis: Ok, Sheridan. Would you just calm down? I'm going to think of something.
Beth: What's going on out there? I don't hear you leaving! Oh, Alistair -- he said that there was no way out, but he -- he can't be right. There's got to be some way.
Sheridan: What are you going to do? You're a detective. You took hostage crisis training.
Luis: Yes, I did. Ok? And the first thing that I learned was not to panic the hostage taker, ok? Now, we don't want Beth to do something without thinking.
Sheridan: Ok. So then how are we going to get Marty back?
Alistair: You know, Martin, I'm getting very tired of your shanty Irish antics. It's time you disappear.
Martin: The only one who's going to disappear is you.
Katherine: Martin, no!
Ivy: Well, who is your next victim?
Fancy: Dear, sweet Mummy, always so supportive of your children. Always thinking the best of them.
Ivy: I just want to know what you're up to, honey.
Fancy: What makes you think I'm "up to" anything?
Ivy: Because you're always up to something, Fancy. Some mischief. And whoever is unfortunate enough to be close to you finds their life under a pile of rubble while you walk away scot-free.
Fancy: My, my. I didn't realize I had so much power, Mummy.
Ivy: Don't, Fancy. Don't be cute. Just tell me who it is.
Fancy: Why? What are you going to do, warn my next victim?
Ivy: Yeah, if I can, I will. You know? Just tell me who's life you're going to ruin this time.
Sam: So you admit to starting the fire at Spike's club?
Noah: What if I did? Like I said, Ethan and I were just, you know, trying to protect our little sister Jessica. You know, we should start a newsletter. You know, "Vigilantes Anonymous."
Sam: Don't you get smart with me. Arson is a serious charge.
Noah: So is taking advantage of a young girl like Jessica by giving her drugs and then taking advantage of her sexually.
Sam: That doesn't give you the right to break the law!
Noah: Oh, I have a right to protect my own sister, don't I?
Sam: That's not the point!
Ethan: Dad -- Dad, I think the point is that we all just want to protect Jessica from Spike.
Kay's voice: That's what worries me. I'm not sure any of us can protect her from Spike.
Spike: I'm sorry I got to do this, babe, but what choice do I have? Your big brother burnt down my club. I got to do what I got to do.
Pilar: Ay, dios mio. It's over. Gwen is going to call security. You've lost your little girl!
Gwen: All right, that's it, I'm calling security.
Rebecca: Good. Now, you listen here, whoever is in there, you are going to jail.
Gwen: Hi, yes. This is Mrs. Winthrop. Could you please send someone up to the nursery? We may have an intruder.
Rebecca: Oh. You know, I bet you anything it's Theresa in there. She probably snuck in here after Ethan threw her out. Oh, that brazen hussy. I'm going to get her out of there. You listen to me, you little chalupa. You have slurped your last margarita, because they don't serve tequila in jail.
Rebecca: Well -- what -- the door is stuck.
Gwen: Oh -- oh. You know what? I'm sorry, never mind. Everything's ok.
Rebecca: What are you doing?
Gwen: Mother, there is no one in the closet.
Rebecca: But -- but the noise --
Gwen: No, I just realized, it's a battery-operated toy. The nanny must have forgotten to turn it off again.
Rebecca: Honey, are you sure?
Gwen: Yes. It's happened before. I should have just recognized the sound instead of getting so paranoid. Stupid.
Rebecca: Oh, honey, who could blame you? I mean, after everything that sneaky little Theresa has put you through.
Gwen: All right, I'm going to go turn the toy off, or it'll just be making noise all day, and I don't want to wake the baby.
Rebecca: I hope you have better luck opening the door.
Theresa: Mama, Gwen can't find me here.
Gwen: Ugh. You're right, it is stuck. Damn it! You know what? If it's not one thing, it's another.
Rebecca: Honey, it's just a door. Look, we'll get that really cute handyman to fix it. Oh, I have been dying to get a look in his toolbox.
Gwen: Mother, for god's sake, come on.
Rebecca: Oh, look who's in such a bad mood.
Gwen: Look, you know what? This whole thing about Theresa and what to do about her -- seriously, I'm having some very dark thoughts here.
Rebecca: Oh, trust me, I'm having more than just dark thoughts when I think of everything she's put you through. My thoughts are positively pitch-black..
Gwen: You know, I'm beginning to think that she's really not all there, because she's so hysterical about losing her child, yet she's the one who put herself in this position.
Rebecca: Absolutely. I mean, Ethan did everything he could to try to convince her to not press charges against you.
Ethan: Theresa, I know that Gwen did some awful things to you. And like I told Sam, she was not in her right mind when she did them because of the very things that you did to her. That's why my dad agreed to drop the charges against Gwen. As far as I'm concerned, that wipes the slate clean, and that's how I want it to stay. So I want you to tell me that we are still on the same page here. Tell me that you want this feud to be over between you and Gwen. Theresa? I'm asking you a question here.
Theresa: Why don't I ask you a question, Ethan? What about Rebecca?
Ethan: What about her?
Theresa: Well, she's not one to forgive and forget. She holds a grudge better than anyone that I know. What if she comes after me and my family again?
Ethan: It's not going to happen.
Theresa: You don't know that.
Ethan: I do know that because I was just with Gwen and Rebecca, and they want this to be over. They do. Rebecca's only concern is you. That's why I'm here -- to assure you that Rebecca -- she's going to retain control and not come after you, as long as you don't incite her and do something like press charges against Gwen again.
Gwen: I mean, she actually wanted me to go to prison for the rest of my life so she could steal Ethan from me.
Rebecca: I know, and she pretends to be such a "good mother." She was more concerned with seducing Ethan than she was in getting Jane back. She -- she just will not give up gracefully.
Gwen: Thank god the courts agreed with us. Because she is too crazy to be a fit mother.
Theresa: Damn you, Gwen!
Rebecca: Jane is far better off with you and Ethan.
Gwen: Well -- and she just wants Ethan anyway. That's the whole reason the court took Jane away from her. You know? She refuses to keep her hands off my husband.
Rebecca: And Ethan is never going to leave you for her.
Gwen: Yeah, but she refuses to give up. I swear, that girl makes me so mad, if I were to see her right now, I think I would kill her.
Katherine: Martin, don't! Alistair is right. Just go.
Martin: The thought of leaving you alone with him drives me crazy!
Katherine: Martin, please.
Alistair: Oh, careful there, because this man might get crazy, too, and tell Sheridan exactly what happened that night many years ago.
Katherine: My god -- please, Martin. I am tired of your threats, Alistair. Remember, she's not the only one that was involved. You were the one who covered up Rachel's death.
Alistair: What about your lover boy?
Katherine: Martin knows I would do anything to protect Sheridan. Even if it brought trouble to both of us.
Alistair: Oh, exactly what could you do, hmm?
Katherine: I could call the police. I could take the police to the mausoleum, the crypt -- show them Rachel's body. Sheridan was just a little girl when this happened. How are you going to explain your crime, Alistair?
Alistair: Katherine, I'm always about five steps ahead of you. The body is gone from the crypt. I've reburied it in a location only known to me. And if you stray from our agreement, I'm going to tell Sheridan all the dreadful details of that night. And I'm going to make sure that she is in attendance when the body is exhumed. Now, what do you think that's going to do to her fragile psyche? Now, she may not go to jail, but she will end up in a psych ward.
Katherine: You can't tell her, Alistair, ever. You promised. It will destroy her, and you know it.
Alistair: Then stick to the agreement.
Martin: What makes you think this madman will keep his word? I mean, look at him! He's pathetic! I mean, the pain he's still causing Sheridan, helping Beth steal her baby, and then helping her run away with him.
Alistair: Hmm. Thanks to you two -- ahem -- Luis and Sheridan have found Beth.
Katherine: Thank god. Sheridan will have her baby back.
Sheridan: Luis, what are we going to do? How are we going to get Marty away from that crazy woman?
Luis: Ok, listen. You keep Beth talking, all right? I'll go around back and try and surprise her. If she sees there's no way out, then she'll have to give us Marty back.
Sheridan: All right. Let's just hope this works.
Luis: Just keep her talking.
Sheridan: Beth, you still there?
Beth: Yeah, I'm still here! Why are you out there? I warned you to leave!
Sheridan: I know. I know, and we are leaving. I -- I just want you to show me Marty. I just want to make sure that he's all right. Please hurry, Luis.
Beth: Well, forget about it. Just get out of here!
Luis: Marty's not even in the room with Beth. She's just bluffing.
Luis: I hate to do this to you, Beth. But I've got to get my son back.
Fancy: Look, Mother, I don't know what you want, but I have been up all night, and I really don't feel up to this inquisition.
Ivy: Well, we have all been up all night, thanks to the insanity of Beth trying to kidnap Sheridan's baby.
Fancy: Have they had any luck finding her?
Ivy: Not that I know of.
Fancy: Hmm. Well, you look tired. Why don't you go take a nap or something?
Ivy: I am not leaving until you give me an answer.
Fancy: Answers about what? Why should it make any difference to you what I do?
Ivy: You are my daughter, Fancy, and I would like to know what kind of trouble you're headed for.
Fancy: You assume I'm headed for trouble. As usual, you think the worst of me.
Ivy: No, I know you. And you have given me a lifetime of reasons to worry.
Fancy: A lifetime? Get real, Mother. You gave birth to me and then handed me off to nannies and boarding schools. You don't know anything about my life, and you've never been a part of it.
Sam: Don't tell me you condone what Noah did, Ethan.
Ethan: No, no, Dad, I don't. I just think his intentions were good to protect our sister.
Sam: Good intentions or not, a felony is a felony, and you should know that.
Kay: But, Dad, you've been trying to get Spike's clubs shut down. I mean, you said they were a menace because of the way he treats girls -- giving them drugs and all.
Sam: Kay, the guy's a lowlife, but that doesn't give anyone the right to take the law into their own hands just because they think their intentions are good.
Noah: Look, the bottom line is the guy's out of business. And from what I can tell, that's a good thing.
Sam: Not if the son of the chief of police is an arsonist.
Noah: Dad, look, I don't know what to tell you.
Sam: Oh, really? You had no trouble telling me that you were in grad school when you dropped out two years ago. Or that you needed money for rent and books, when you were using it to play poker all over the country, or god knows what else.
Ethan: Noah, is that true?
Noah: Look, I did what I had to do, ok?
Sam: Yeah? And I'm doing what I have to do. Now, turn round. You're under arrest for arson.
Spike: Shh. Now, if I take my hand from your mouth, you going to be quiet? Huh? Good. All right, now, I'm going to take it away, but you need to be absolutely quiet. No screaming. Good girl. Now, sweetheart, we have to have a little talk.
Jessica: Are you -- you're -- you're not going to kill me, right, Spike? I mean, is that why you came here?
Gwen: That woman has some nerve. You know, I'm the one who is actually married to Ethan, but no, she'll tell anyone who will listen that she and Ethan belong together.
Rebecca: No, Theresa has no compunction about trying to steal another woman's husband. I mean, at least I felt a little guilty when I took Julian away from Ivy.
Gwen: Did you, really?
Rebecca: Well, ok, no, no, not really. But at least Julian wanted me. Ethan doesn't want to have anything to do with Theresa.
Gwen: Oh, why am I even talking about her? You know, just thinking about Theresa makes my blood boil.
Rebecca: Honey, it's not good for you to get so upset. Look, my motto is don't get angry, get even.
Gwen: Yeah, well -- you know, I'm just going to go and turn off the toy. I'm going to take a nice hot bath while the baby's napping, and -- I'm exhausted.
Rebecca: Well, no wonder. We've been up all night. Look, I'm going to have some tea sent up to you so you can relax, ok?
Gwen: You know, maybe I should take a tranquilizer. I am telling you, just thinking about Theresa makes me want to kill her.
Gwen: Oh, my god.
Beth: There's got to be a way for me to get Marty out of here. Wait, that's it. That's how I can escape.
Sheridan: Oh, what is Luis doing? He said he was going to sneak around back and surprise her and get Marty back for me. Where is he?
Luis: Sorry I have to do this to you, Beth. Freeze! Put your hands on your head where I can see them, Beth!
Gwen: I don't believe this.
Rebecca: Well, what is it?
Gwen: Look at this mess.
Rebecca: Oh, my god. It's a disaster.
Gwen: I'm going to have to talk to the staff about this.
Rebecca: You know, as much as I hate to admit it, this never would've happened when Pilar was head of housekeeping.
Gwen: Yeah, well, I really don't care how good a housekeeper Pilar was. I don't ever want to see her or her man-hungry slut daughter ever again.
Theresa: Oh. We're safe now, Mama.
Pilar: Yeah, for now, Theresa. This isn't over.
Theresa: No, it's not. I'm going to get Ethan and Jane back no matter what I have to do.
Alistair: Oh, Katherine, you amuse me. You keep talking to god. Don't you get it yet? He's not there.
Katherine: God is here, Alistair. God is good, god is hope, and he hears my prayers.
Martin: Katherine, this -- this thing knows nothing about god. He's the complete opposite of goodness and hope. He's pure evil.
Alistair: I'm a man who always gets what he wants.
Katherine: Not with Luis and Sheridan, not this time. They're up at the lake cabin and they have their baby.
Martin: And Beth will go to prison.
Alistair: Oh, maybe, maybe not. One way or the other, Luis and Sheridan will either get Marty back and live happily ever after, or Beth will escape with Marty, and Luis and Sheridan's relationship will be destroyed forever.
Luis: Do as I say, Beth. Put your hands on your head where I can see them.
Beth: Damn it. Just when I figured out a way to escape.
Luis: Show me your hands! I'm coming in.
Sheridan: Oh, my god. Luis did it. He has Beth and I'm finally going to get Marty back.
Luis: Stay right where you are, Beth. Don't make any sudden moves. Don't make me shoot you.
Sheridan: Where is he? Where's my baby?
Beth: He's not here. He's not in the cabin.
Sheridan: Where is he?
Beth: I hid him. I hid him and you won't be able to find him.
Sheridan: No. I know that he is in this cabin. Luis, make her tell us where he is!
Luis: It's all right. We'll search the house.
Sheridan: No. I'll search the house. You stay here and keep an eye on her. In fact, feel free to shoot her if she tries to get away.
Beth: Luis could never shoot me, Sheridan.
Sheridan: Shut up. I'm going to go find my son.
Beth: You could never shoot me, right, Luis, because you still care about me. You still have feelings for me. You still see me as that innocent girl that you took to the prom years ago and -- and the girl you were going to marry, that you should've married.
Luis: You're not that girl anymore, Beth.
Beth: Yes, I -- yeah, I am. I am. I haven't changed. I'm -- I'm still the girl that you used to swim in the ocean with and ride bikes and -- remember? We used to babysit Theresa and Miguel when they were little and you always told me what a good mother that I'd be, and I am a good mother to our son.
Luis: Marty's not our son. The D.N.A. test proved it.
Beth: I don't care about the D.N.A. test. You made love to me. You got me pregnant. Marty's our son, Luis!
Sheridan: All right, stop it! You stole him from me and you know it.
Beth: Marty is my son, bitch!
Sheridan: Liar. You shut up, you lunatic!
Fancy: You have no right to ask me anything about my life, Mother. You sent me away as soon as I could tie my own shoes, and I've seen very little of you since -- oh, except for our once-a-year, cozy, one-hour get-togethers.
Ivy: I know I haven't been a perfect mother and I am sorry.
Fancy: Huh. "A perfect mother"? You were no kind of mother at all. You haven't shown the slightest interest in me or my sister or Fox. Why are you suddenly trying to play Mommy now?
Ivy: Because I know I made mistakes -- with all of you. And I realize I was so wrong and I want to make it up to you.
Fancy: Yeah, you made mistakes with us but not with Ethan. Why is that, Mother? Oh, right! He's Sam Bennett's son and not our father's. That's why you've always treated Ethan like a prince and treated the rest of us like yesterday's garbage.
Sam: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
Noah: Dad, you can't be serious.
Ethan: Dad, come on. You can't arrest Noah.
Kay: Yeah, Dad, let him go.
Sam: Your brother has to learn to take some responsibility for his actions.
Kay: Ok, forget about that for now. We have a much bigger problem. We need to tell you about Jessica.
Sam: Jessica? What are you talking about? What happened?
Kay: She's in trouble, Dad, much worse trouble than we thought.
Jessica: Are you going to kill me, Spike?
Spike: No. Baby, I -- no, no. I would never hurt you. I'm -- I'm sorry, baby.
Jessica: When I saw the knife, I just got so scared.
Spike: No, baby, I'm sorry. I would never hurt you. I'm sorry that I scared you, sweetie. I would never do anything to hurt you, baby. I just kept it just in case, you know, because your brother and your old man are out to get me and I'm just -- I'm just using it to defend myself.
Jessica: I know. They -- they don't understand you. They don't know you, so they just think they have to protect me from you.
Spike: Protect you from me?
Jessica: Yeah. They think I'm still just a kid. They don't think I can take care of myself.
Spike: Well, they're wrong, aren't they?
Jessica: Totally. I can take care of myself and I know I don't need protecting from you. Do I, Spike?
Spike: Oh, baby, of course not. The problem with your family is that they're just -- they're smothering you. They're not letting you live your own life.
Jessica: Oh, yeah, don't I know it. But what can I do to stop them?
Spike: I'm going to tell you what you're going to do. I'm going to tell you what you're going to have to do.
Katherine: I'll never understand you, Alistair. Why do you want your own daughter to be so unhappy? Why don't you leave her alone, let her be with Luis? Why do you have to control everyone?
Alistair: I don't have to explain what I do to you or anyone else.
Martin: No. You think this town is your own experiment in anthropology.
Alistair: Oh. Big word for a small man.
Katherine: Don't, Martin.
Katherine: He's just trying to goad you.
Martin: I know.
Alistair: Oh, come on, Katherine, let me have my fun.
Martin: What? Is that it? That's all this is to you. You manipulate people for the fun of it. You can't stand not being in control.
Alistair: I control what affects me, and everyone in this town affects me.
Martin: You mean they control your bottom line. How sad you are. Money is all that matters to you.
Alistair: Money makes the world go round and I'm very, very serious about protecting my financial empire and I will do that till my last breath without any apology.
Katherine: Great, Alistair. Do that, but why don't you let the people in Harmony live their own lives?
Alistair: I have plans for certain people -- very special plans.
Katherine: For whom? Who's going to be your next target, Alistair?
Theresa: Get off!
Alistair: Not again. Not again.
Theresa: You know what? You got a lot of nerve thinking that I'll lower myself to be with you just so I can get my child back.
Alistair: Just give me a chance. We could make beautiful music together.
Theresa: You know what? You think you know me, Alistair, but I'm not that desperate. I would rather die than sleep with you.
Alistair: Well, things do change and my offer will still be valid when they do.
Pilar: What are you doing with my daughter?
Alistair: [Spanish accent] Oh, mamacita, I was trying to seduce her.
Pilar: Eres un asqueroso.
Alistair: [Normal voice] That's exactly what your daughter said to me.
Pilar: You are nothing but filth. Stay away from my family.
Alistair: Oh, but life would be so boring if I didn't have the Lopez-Fitzgeralds to play with. Good night.
Pilar: Theresa? Oh, my god. I don't like hearing you talk like this. You're only asking for trouble.
Theresa: Mama, don't worry, ok? I knew Gwen and Rebecca had a secret and you know, too, now. You heard it here yourself. But if I know what it is, then I'm going to use it against them.
Gwen: Isn't she just the most precious baby? Mother, I don't know if I could stand it if I ever had to give her up.
Rebecca: Honey, we'll find a way to keep Theresa away from Jane, I swear it.
Gwen: Mother, I worry, you know? What if Theresa finds out our secret?
Rebecca: Honey, that is not going to happen.
Gwen: Well, I hope not, but I hate living with this fear. And, you know, there's something else I'm afraid of and that's Alistair. Boy, do I hope I never make him mad.
Rebecca: I know what you mean. I'm not afraid of any man except Alistair. I mean, once he turns on you, you might as well kiss your fanny goodbye. Life is pretty much over for anyone who's dumb enough to cross Alistair Crane.
Theresa: Alistair. Alistair is the key.
Sheridan: You are a lying, vicious, evil woman and don't think for one minute that Luis won't shoot you!
Luis: Look, Sheridan, go get Marty.
Sheridan: All right. Marty, Mommy's here. I'm coming. Ah!
Beth: Drop the gun or I'll kill her, Luis.
Sheridan: Shoot her! Luis, just shoot her!
Luis: Beth --
Fancy: Ugh. Go away, Mother. We have nothing to talk about.
Ivy: Fancy, I know that I neglected you and I didn't give you the attention that you needed when you were growing up and that you deserved and I would so like to make up for that now. Please, honey, please. Give me a chance to get close.
Fancy: Too late.
Ivy: You know, Fox said that, too, but we've managed to get close. Oh, please, honey. Just -- just give me one chance, just one chance to repair our relationship, please.
Sam: What about Jessica? I mean, why is it worse than we thought?
Ethan: Dad, please. Take the cuffs off of your son.
Kay: Yeah, Dad, please. I mean, we need to deal with this as a family, all of us -- for Jessica's sake, please.
Sam: All right. But this isn't over.
Noah: Understood. Thanks, Dad.
Sam: What's going on with Jessica now?
Noah: Look, Spike called her and told her that I set fire to his club. She went crazy.
Kay: Yeah, she was furious with all of us. She even slapped Noah.
Ethan: She called Spike her boyfriend.
Sam: "Her boyfriend"? Is she insane? This guy is an idiot. He's just using her.
Kay: I know. We tried to tell her that, but she wouldn't listen. She thinks that he's the only one who understands her, that we don't care about her.
Sam: Of course we care about her. It's Spike, the one who doesn't give a damn about her.
Noah: Yeah, well, we have to find a way to let her know that before it's too late.
Jessica: Ok. What do I have to do, Spike? What do I have to do to make my family leave me alone and let me live my own life?
Spike: Well, it's not going to be easy, Jessica. In fact, it's going to be really hard, but you're going to have to listen to me. Now, are you up for that?
Jessica: I -- I don't know. You're scaring me, Spike.
Spike: Oh, no. Baby, don't be scared. Look at me. Look at me. Now, do you trust me?
Jessica: I trust you.
Spike: Then you are going to have to believe that whatever I want is for the best for you and the best for me, for us.
Jessica: For us?
Spike: Yes, baby, us. Come here, sweetie -- us, honey. We're a team, baby. You're my girl. You're my only one.
Jessica: Ok. What do you want me to do?
Spike: You're going to have to leave here, baby. You're going to have to leave your home and your family forever.
Katherine: Who is it, Alistair? Who have you chosen to lock into your evil gravitational field?
Theresa: So you've been eavesdropping on us? Is that how you get your kicks?
Alistair: No. Actually, I get my kicks -- as you so crassly put it -- the old-fashioned way.
Gwen: I love her so much. I love her just as much as if she were my own biological child.
Rebecca: Well, you are the only mother she will ever know, I swear it.
Gwen: You know, I am going to take a bath and I'm going to try and relax.
Rebecca: Ok. I'll have some tea sent up.
Gwen: Thank you.
Theresa: I thought they'd never leave.
Pilar: Oh, dear god, I was so afraid we were going to get caught. We were very lucky.
Theresa: No, it wasn't luck, Mama. We didn't get caught because what we're doing is right. I love you, sweetheart. Mommy's right here. Right here. And I'll do whatever I have to do to get you back.
Alistair: As far as I'm concerned, I would pick you hands down. You're strong, determined, you're willful. What is Gwen? She's nothing but a mealy-mouthed follower being led by the nose by her sluttish mother.
Theresa: She's just like her mother.
Alistair: That's what I'm talking about, Theresa. You know what's going on and you're not afraid to say it. We're not too different, you and I.
Theresa: I don't think so.
Alistair: Oh. You don't? Oh, ok, then you hate me. Then tell me to go to hell. I mean, tell me as often as you want, but the truth is you need someone in your corner -- even me. Actually, especially me. Because I know how to get your daughter back.
Theresa: In exchange for what? What's your price?
Alistair: Nothing you couldn't afford. I assure you.
Pilar: I know that look, Theresa. It usually means trouble. What are you thinking? What is going on in that head of yours?
Luis: Drop the knife, Beth.
Beth: You drop the gun now. Or she dies.
Sheridan: Shoot her, Luis. I need to get my baby.
Beth: He's not your baby.
Sheridan: Just shoot her!
Luis: I can't get a clear shot.
Sheridan: Yes, you can! Just do it! Shoot her!
