Jessica: You still there, Spike?
Spike: Yeah, I'm right here, babe. Hey, look, when am I going to see you?
Jessica: You said tomorrow.
Spike: Well, why wait when we still have the whole night ahead of us? Why don't you come on down to the club?
Spike: Well, if it's past your bedtime, then forget it. Look, I got to go.
Jessica: No -- no, wait. I can come back tonight.
Spike: There's my girl. Listen, don't take too long. I'm a busy man.
Jessica: Well, at least somebody wants me.
Ivy: Where are you going?
Jessica: Out. I need to get dressed.
Jessica: Yes, again. What are you going to do about it, Ivy? Call Dad and get him so freaked out he calls Mom to come home?
Ethan: Honey, are you all right?
Gwen: Ethan, I am so scared. I didn't think I was going to have to go back to jail.
Rebecca: Well, you shouldn't have to. It's all that damn Theresa's fault.
Ethan: Honey, I'm sorry. I thought I convinced Theresa not to press charges again. I got your mom's call, and I -- I realized what Theresa had done, and I was stunned, and I'm sorry.
Rebecca: I told you the little tramp was not going to rest until she completely destroyed Gwen's life. Now, what are you going to do about it, Ethan?
Ethan: What do you mean, what am I going to do? I'm going to support my wife.
Rebecca: There's only one way you can do that, and that's make Theresa pay for this.
Theresa: He called me a monster. He said he never wanted to see me again. Dear god, what if I've lost Ethan forever?
Pilar: Oh, god, what's wrong with me? Begging Martin to choose me instead of Katherine? I have my pride. If he prefers that Katherine woman instead of me, well, then --
Alistair: So, we meet again, Pilar.
Pilar: Alistair, please, just leave me alone. I told you at the wharf, I have nothing to say to you.
Alistair: But I have a couple of things to say to you, Pilar. I know you still love Martin. I know you still want him back.
Pilar: Not if he doesn't want me.
Alistair: Well, that wouldn't be an issue at all if Katherine hadn't come back to Harmony. I can help you get Katherine out of Martin's life forever -- that is, of course, if you're interested.
Fox: So, who is it, huh? Who thinks they're going to adopt my son before I even get a chance to meet him?
T.C.: Yeah, we put our application in in plenty of time.
Eve: So did we.
Whitney: Well, I don't understand this.
Fox: Who thinks they're walking out of here with my son? I want their name now.
Harriet: I'm sorry, I can't give you that information, not without permission.
Fox: Oh, the hell with this! This whole thing is crazy! Whitney, what the hell were you thinking that this could have happened, huh? How could you give away my son?
Chad: Leave her alone. And don't you ever talk to Whitney like that again.
Mrs. Wallace's voice: I warned Bethie that she was going too far. Sheridan has finally snapped!
Luis: Hey, Sheridan, you know, now is not the time. Maybe we can talk to Beth later, ok?
Sheridan: No, now. I'm not going anywhere until I get this off my chest.
Beth: Really, I got to go.
Sheridan: No, not until you hear me out.
Ivy: You're going to see that Spike person again, aren't you?
Jessica: How many times do I have to tell you, Ivy? My personal life is none of your damn business!
Ivy: Your mother would love to hear you speak like that.
Jessica: Don't talk about my mother, ok? She ditched me without a second thought, just like my father has.
Ivy: Is that what you think? Is that why you're acting out like this?
Jessica: Is that what you call it, Ivy? I call it having some long overdue fun.
Ivy: No, there is nothing fun about not respecting yourself!
Ivy: Ok, that is the second time. Let me see your arm.
Ivy: Oh, my god! What happened?
Jessica: Nothing. I'm -- I'm fine.
Ivy: No, you are not fine. What, these marks -- that one looks like a fresh burn.
Jessica: I don't know. It must have been the stove.
Ivy: You have been nowhere near the kitchen all night. You did that to yourself, didn't you?
Sam: You'll have to leave if all you're going to do is make threats against Theresa.
Rebecca: Sam, what do you expect me to do? You think I'm just going to sit back and let this little wench destroy my daughter's life? Look, I'm not going to take it, and neither should you, Ethan.
Ethan: Look, this is not the time and this is not the place for this. I just want to get her home, ok?
Gwen: Can -- can you do that?
Ethan: Yes. I've already arranged bail thanks to my father here, so --
Sam: It's the least I can do.
Ethan: All right, let's go.
Ethan: Come on.
Gwen: Thank you, Sam.
Sam: You're welcome.
Rebecca: Oh, I'm not finished with you, Theresa. Not by a long shot.
Fox: I want to tell you something, I'm getting awfully sick and tired of you popping up in the middle of my personal business.
Chad: Well, that's tough. I'm not going to have you talking to Whitney like that. All right?
Chad: Oh, Julian, your secretary told me where to find you.
Julian: Thank you.
Chad: Now, what's going on?
Fox: What's going on? Whitney's given my child up for adoption, that's what's going on. She tricked me into giving her my power of attorney. Now they're telling me my hands are tied, that I don't have any legal right to my son. When did you become such a manipulative liar?
Chad: I told you, that's enough.
Fox: You know, one more time -- this doesn't have anything to do with you!
Chad: It does! She's my sister.
Fox: Oh, I see how it works now, huh? You're playing the protective brother card, right? Well, at least that's a step up from you wanting to play house with her.
Julian: All right, all right! Do I have to remind you that you're brothers, too?
Fox: What, are you taking his side again?
Julian: All right. That's enough of this competitiveness. We have to figure out what we're going to do here.
Fox: Well, great. According to Mrs. Wellesley, there's not a whole hell of a lot we can do.
Whitney: Look, Fox, I know you're angry, but I'm sure whoever gets the baby will be the best one for him.
Fox: You're sure, are you, Whitney? You think you know? Who the hell do you think you are, making all these important decisions without me, all on your own? What's best for that baby is to be with his biological parents. And if you don't want him, I do.
Eve: Please, Whitney, please --
Whitney: No, no, forget it, mom. I'm not going to tell Chad or Fox that Chad's really the father of my baby, ok? I put him up for adoption so I don't have to do that. And you know what? I'm glad Mrs. Wellesley isn't going to tell us who the adoptive parents are. My son is a lot better off with them than with me or any of you guys. Much better off.
Mrs. Wallace: Now Sheridan can let Beth have it full bore, like she deserves!
Beth: Sheridan, you don't want to hurt me. We're in a hospital.
Sheridan: Hurt you? I don't want to hurt you. I just want to just tell you I'm sorry.
Beth: Wait, what?
Sheridan: I'm sorry for everything that I've put you through. Can you ever forgive me?
Pilar: It doesn't appear as even you can remove Katherine from Harmony for good.
Alistair: Good for you, Pilar. I like a woman who comes back at me. I wasn't talking about me getting rid of Katherine. I was talking about you getting rid of Katherine. Would you like to know how?
Pilar: I would like nothing from you.
Alistair: Shame. Good night.
Pilar: How would you be able to help me?
Alistair: This slip of paper has everything you'd ever need to get rid of Katherine. Everything. Use it, and you'll never have Katherine come between you and Martin ever again.
Pilar: No. I will not make a deal with the devil, no matter how much I wish to repair my damaged family.
Alistair: Oh, well, I mean -- even more pain and suffering to your loved ones? I -- I don't understand it. I was under the impression that you were making headway with your children. Some of them even are willing to give Martin another chance.
Pilar: Well, yes, but I -- I can't --
Alistair: But what? Look at yourself. Pilar, you are a vital and vibrant woman. You've had enough loneliness at night, climbing into a cold and empty bed. You don't deserve any of that. You don't deserve the loneliness, especially at the hands of my wife and your husband. It's time for you to take all of that and put it behind you. That is, of course, if you think it's worth I if not, then it's your prerogative.
Pilar: Let -- let me see it.
Alistair: I knew you'd be interested, Pilar. Nice doing business with you. Hasta la vista.
Pilar: Oh, dear god. Oh, dear god. What have I done? What have I done?
Fox: Mrs. Wellesley, I'm that baby's father. Now, if you're not going to give me custody of my own son, at the very least, you can tell me who you're giving him to.
Harriet: I've already explained our regulations to you, Mr. Crane.
Fox: I don't care about your regulations, huh? How -- how do you stand there, not caring who our baby goes to, Whitney? Unless you already know. Well, who is it?
Whitney: I don't know, Fox. Honestly, I don't. All I do know is, is I'm sick of all of this, you know? I'm sick of being judged by all of you when you don't know the first thing about what I'm going through. I did the right thing by my baby, and that's final.
Chad: Hey, why don't you all just back off, all right?
Whitney: Well, look at you defending me all of a sudden. I mean, you were angry with me, too, last time we talked.
Chad: Well, I did some thinking. Look, it's Whitney's baby. She carried him inside of her. If she didn't want to raise him herself, it's her choice.
Fox: I'm the baby's father, Chad, so I think maybe I have something to do with that, huh?
Eve: Why don't we all go somewhere where we can just sit down and talk this out?
Whitney: Mom, I am so tired of talking. I'm tired of listening. I just want to get out of here.
Fox: Well, then run away again, Whitney! Run away! Doesn't change what you did! It doesn't change the fact that you gave away our child!
Chad: Are you ok?
Whitney: Oh, Chad. Oh, my god.
Sheridan: I've -- I've put you through hell, accused you of so many terrible things, and I'm really sorry.
Beth: I don't know what to say.
Mrs. Wallace: How did that D.N.A. Test lie? Beth and I -- we both know that Sheridan is Marty's real mama!
Sheridan: Can you ever forgive me?
Beth: Uh -- sure. I mean -- I mean, it might take some time.
Sheridan: I wouldn't blame you if it took a long time. The important thing is that we all, you know, try to get along for Marty's sake.
Beth: Oh, absolutely.
Beth: Oh, you know what? It's late. I should really get him home to bed.
Beth: Oh, honey. You ok?
Dottie: Sheridan, I'm so sorry. I know you were expecting different results from the D.N.A. test.
Sheridan: Thank you.
Dottie: Take care.
Sheridan: You, too.
Luis: Sheridan, that was amazing. Forgiving Beth, letting her know that you're putting all this behind you? Hey --
Sheridan: Can we -- can we go home now?
Luis: Yeah, of course. I'll go get the car, ok? Just wait right here.
Sheridan: I don't have to put this all behind me, Luis. I don't care what those D.N.A. test results say because I am Marty's mother, and I will know it until the day I die.
Jessica: Of course I didn't do this to myself. That'd be nuts. Why would anyone hurt themselves on purpose?
Ivy: Maybe because they're hurting so much on the inside that they don't know any other way to express their pain. Jessica, you need help.
Jessica: You're the one who needs help, Ivy! I'm out of here.
Ivy: Jessica, don't you see what you're doing here? You are so desperate for attention that you're not thinking straight. This -- this Spike creep --
Jessica: He's my boyfriend! Don't call him a creep.
Ivy: Jessica, he is worse than that if he made you feel so low about yourself that you would do this!
Jessica: I'm out of here.
Ivy: Oh, god help you, Jessica. And god help your father if he finds out where you are.
Man: Don't tell me you're going to be needing the backroom again, Spike.
Spike: Hey, why not, man? When the chicks are willing, the Spike man's chilling. You going to let me know when miss babe-elicious gets here?
Man: The young one's coming back again?
Spike: Hey, what can I say, man? She just can't get enough of me.
Sam: Bennett here.
Man: It's Roy, Sam, at the club.
Sam: What, you have anything that we can bring Spike in on?
Roy: No, not yet. But he's got some girl on her way over. He already booked the backroom.
Sam: I'll be right there. I want to nail that slimeball in person.
Chad: Hey, it's all right. It's going to be ok.
Whitney: You're the only one who ever -- no. I'm sorry. I can't -- I can't do that. I'm sorry.
Chad: Well, then just tell me what I can do to help.
Whitney: Nothing. No one can help. I just wish everyone would stop hating me in there.
Chad: Whitney, I don't hate you, ok, and no one else does either. They just -- they just don't understand, you know?
Whitney: They can't understand. No one can.
Chad: I can if you'll tell me. Whitney, I love you -- if only as your brother, ok? Please, if you're going to talk to somebody, let it be me.
Theresa: I think it's time for you to go back to bed. Ok? Come on. How about one hug and a kiss before you go to sleep? I love you, sweetie. Sleep good.
Pilar: Ay, mija. Que te pasa? What's the matter?
Theresa: I did it, Mama. I've lost Ethan forever.
Rebecca: Gwen? Here, could you take this with you? Thank you. So, Ethan, are you going to help me teach Theresa a lesson, or do I have to do this all by myself?
Ethan: No, not now. Not now. It is her emotional state that I'm worried about, ok?
Rebecca: Ethan, that is exactly what I am talking about here. Look, if you want your wife to feel better, you are going to have to shower her with love and affection, promise her that you're going to make Theresa pay for what she's done. Look, you have to prove your love Gwen in the only way that matters, and that's by helping me to tear Theresa limb from limb.
Chad: Whitney, I promise I won't judge you. Ok, just tell me why. I mean, why would you give your own baby up for adoption?
Girl: Your mommy and daddy are brother and sister.
Whitney: I just want my son to have a better life than I can give him.
Chad: That doesn't make any sense. I mean, his father is Fox Crane. He's going to have every benefit that family has to offer.
Whitney: No offense, but I'm not terribly impressed with the Crane family name, not when that family includes my mother's lover and Alistair Crane. Thanks anyway, but I'll just pass.
Chad: That's your choice. But I don't think that's the whole reason.
Whitney: Well, Chad, you don't know everything. Excuse me. I think I'm going to go.
Chad: Without going in there and saying goodbye?
Whitney: Why should I go back in there? I don't have anything else to say to them.
Chad: It's not like you to run away from a tough situation. Whitney, go in there and stand your ground. Make them respect your decision.
Whitney: I can't. No, I just can't do that.
Chad: Oh, you forget -- I know what you're made of.
Whitney: Look, I know none of you agree with my decision, but it was my decision to make, and I've made it. And you all are just going to have to learn to live with it, the same way I am.
Pilar: Ethan called you a monster?
Theresa: I've never seen him like that, Mama. He -- he hates me.
Pilar: Theresa, you know, I don't understand why you insisted on pressing new charges against Gwen when Ethan had already asked you not to.
Theresa: Because I don't trust Gwen, Mama. And I don't trust Rebecca. I knew they'd come up with some kind of new revenge for me, so I wanted to beat them to the punch.
Pilar: Or is it more that you thought that perhaps, well, with Ethan's wife locked up, you'd have a better chance with him?
Theresa: Yep. That, too. I know it was selfish. And, Mama, I honestly thought that I was doing the right thing. I mean, Gwen has tried to kill me. She kidnapped Jane. I mean, she deserves to be in jail, and I thought that once she was behind bars, Ethan would come back to me. Maybe we wouldn't get married, but he could have been more of a father to Jane and little Ethan. I know. Save your breath, I know. I know the lecture by heart. I shouldn't have manipulated the situation. I should have turned the other cheek, and I should have let go of Ethan without a fight.
Theresa: "No," what?
Pilar: Theresa, you love Ethan, and you have a child with him. I can understand why you want to fight -- why you want to fight for him.
Theresa: You do?
Pilar: All I want is for you to be happy, Theresa.
Theresa: Then I need to be with Ethan, Mama.
Pilar: When a woman loves a man with all her heart and soul, anything is possible.
Theresa: I just -- I can't believe that I'm hearing this.
Pilar: Well, what is it they say? "All is fair in love and war."
Theresa: Thank you, Mama. Thank you for understanding.
Rebecca: So, are you a man or a mouse?
Ethan: I'm not going to have this conversation with you, all right?
Rebecca: Look, if not now, then when?
Ethan: When it doesn't upset your daughter more than she already is. Honey, are you ready for bed?
Gwen: Not yet. I was just going to make some tea and just try and calm down a little bit, sit on the couch.
Ethan: Ok, ok. I'll go get the tea for you, ok?
Gwen: Thank you.
Rebecca: Ethan? I'm not going to just let this go.
Ethan: Damn it! What do you want me to say, huh?
Rebecca: I want you to tell me that you are going to support your wife by punishing the woman that's done this to her. Look, I want you to tell me that you are going to help me put Theresa in her place once and for all.
[Mrs. Wallace gasps]
Mrs. Wallace: Precious? Precious, is that really you?
Mrs. Wallace: Oh, I am so glad to hear your voice. I have missed you so much, my sweet, sweet friend.
Mrs. Wallace: Well, it's not been easy, I'll tell you that. Well, you know what it's like living with Bethie. Never a dull moment. But the most incredible thing happened tonight. Sheridan insisted that Beth and Marty take a D.N.A. test, and guess what -- the test said that Bethie was Marty's real mama! Whoa!
Mrs. Wallace: Yeah, exactly! We both know it's a damnable lie, but how the heck did it happen? No, no, no, honey, you didn't have to answer that. It was a rhetorical question. What? Oh, yeah, we were talking about Beth. No, I am not going to tell you what Luis was wearing, you naughty, naughty girl. Oh. Oh, Precious. I think about you every day, and I hope you're going to come back to Harmony soon because it's just not the same without you.
Beth: Ah! Marty went right to sleep.
Mrs. Wallace: Well, aren't you smug as a bug in a rug?
Beth: Well, can you blame me? Not even an hour ago, I thought I was dead meat, that the D.N.A. test results would prove that Sheridan is Marty's mother, and then I would be handcuffed and hauled off to prison. Oh, I'm just free as a bird! I don't have a care in the world!
Mrs. Wallace: How'd you do it, Bethie, huh? How did you pull off this latest travesty of justice?
Beth: It wasn't me, Mother. But I think I figured out who did. Only one person in the world could pull this off. The elephants!
Man: Hey, babe. Spike's waiting for you in the back room.
Jessica: Oh, ok.
Jessica: Hey, maybe we could hang out in the club a little. Slow down, Spike. Can't you even say hello first?
Spike: Now, why waste precious time with formalities? We both know what we want. And, listen, don't worry, be happy. Have one. Or six.
Roy: Just in time. I think Spike's girlfriend got here a couple minutes ago. She's in the back room with him.
Sam: Well, this is going to be his last victim. Tonight I'm going to take him down. Let's go.
Sam: Wait a second. Ivy, what is it?
Ivy: Sam, I -- I was just thinking about you.
Sam: Look, Ivy -- look, this is not a good time, ok? I'm at the sleazeball's club, about to bust him.
Ivy: You mean Spike's place?
Sam: I got a tip from one of my undercovers. He's got a girl in one of his private rooms right now. Look, I'll see you later.
Ivy: No, no, Sam, wait, wait! You can't go in there!
Fox: Live with the fact that you've given away my son? No, that'll never happen. Whitney, I'm getting my son back if it's the last thing that I do.
Harriet: I'm sorry. You're all going to have to leave. I have a client here to pick up a baby, and I can't have this disruption.
Fox: Well, it better not be my son.
Harriet: I didn't say that.
Fox: No, it is, isn't it? Well, I'm not leaving. I want to know who thinks they're going to walk out of here with my boy.
T.C.: You know what? I'm with Fox. We're not going anywhere until we find out who's taking Whitney's baby.
Luis: I'm sorry, sweetheart. Maybe now that you have proof, you can move on and forget about this idea that Marty is your son. We can move on with our lives and have our own child someday soon.
Marty: Mama, Mama --
Marty: Mama, Mama --
Sheridan: Marty, is that you?
Marty: Mama, Mama --
Sheridan: What's wrong, sweetheart? Do you need help? Marty, where are you?
Marty: Mama, Mama --
Sheridan: Marty? Marty, I can't see you, sweetheart! Honey, where are you? Marty!
Mrs. Wallace: Who saved your bacon, huh? Who rigged that D.N.A. test so it'd come back looking like you were Marty's biological mama and not Sheridan?
Mrs. Wallace: Oh --
Beth: God must have helped me. He was on my side. He must have helped me!
Mrs. Wallace: The good lord had nothing to do with this. No, missy, this was the handiwork of the devil himself or one of his disciples. Alistair!
Beth: Alistair. That's it. It had to be Alistair, my very own guardian angel.
Alistair: Did somebody mention my name?
Mrs. Wallace: Oh -- - I'm ready.- I don't think so.
Sam: Ivy, what did you say? I can hardly hear you.
Ivy: Sam, there's something you have to know before you go in there!
Sam: Ivy, speak up. I can't hear you!
Ivy: Sam, it's about Jessica.
Sam: Yes, yes, this is for Jessica. I'll call you when I get to the station house.
Ivy: No, no, Sam, wait! Jessica's the girl in there with Spike! Sam? Sam? Oh, god. Sam is going to lose his mind when he finds Jessica in there with Spike.
Jessica: I think I want to go home, Spike.
Spike: Shh. Later, sweet lips, later.
Sam: Let's be careful before we go in there, ok? I don't want this girl hurt more than she already has been.
Man: What the hell is going on here?
Sam: Party's over, ok? You're being raided.
Man: Hey, come on, man!
Second man: Hey, I can't let you go in there.
Sam: Listen, you better get the hell out of my face, unless you want to be arrested, too.
Man: It's locked. It can only be opened from the inside.
Spike: What the hell?
Sam: I warned you, punk. You're finished.
Spike: What do you know? If it isn't Chief Bennett himself.
Sam: Jessica? Oh, my god!
Theresa: Thank you for not judging me, Mama --
Pilar: Si, mija.
Theresa: For understanding why I can't give up on Ethan and me being a family.
Pilar: No. Family is the most important thing in the world.
Theresa: That's Jane. I'm going to go check on her, ok?
Theresa: Are you all right?
Pilar: Yes, mija. Claro. It's just -- oh, it's just been a long day, a very long day.
Theresa: Yeah. Mama? You're the strongest person I know. I love you.
Pilar: I love you, mija.
Pilar: Family is the most important thing. But to accept Alistair's help to put mine back together? Oh, god. Oh, god, what am I to do?
Sheridan: Marty? Marty, where are you? Marty --
Sheridan: Father. What are you doing with my son?
Alistair: Hello, Sheridan.
Sheridan: No. No. No!
Luis: Hey? What happened?
Sheridan: Marty --
Luis: Oh, honey, it was just a dream. It was just a bad dream.
Sheridan: No, Luis, it wasn't a dream. I wish it was. It was real. I've lost Marty. I've lost my son forever now.
Mrs. Wallace: How -- how did you get in here?
Beth: I didn't hear the door.
Alistair: I have my ways. Am I correct? Were you talking about me?
Mrs. Wallace: It was you, wasn't it? You were the one who changed the D.N.A. results to make it look like Beth was Marty's mama!
Alistair: Would that I were. I should feel flattered.
Mrs. Wallace: Oh, no flattery intended here. I know you are capable of anything. After all, you posed as that weirdo Charlie just to help Beth, you know, kidnap Sheridan, steal the baby. I know there is nothing you won't do when you set your mind to it!
Alistair: Oh, why, thank you. But I'm afraid I can't take credit for this one. I did nothing.
Beth: Well, no, you must have.
Alistair: No. No, I hate to disappoint you two, but I had nothing to do with the D.N.A. test results. Cheers.
Mrs. Wallace: Well, then how could they say that Marty was your son?
Beth: It doesn't -- it doesn't make any sense.
Theresa: Everything's going to be all right. I promise you, sweetheart. I know your daddy said that he never wants to see me again, but you know what? He's not going to be able to hold on to that because of you. Because he loves you. He loves his beautiful little girl, and in time he is going to get over his anger and he's going to forgive me. And you know that woman, that mean old woman Gwen who took you away from me? She's going to be in prison for the rest of her sorry life. That's right.
Rebecca: Ethan, what kind of a man are you? I mean, what kind of a husband lets his wife suffer this way?
Ethan: I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think you're right. I think it's time Theresa got what was coming to her.
Fox: I'm not going anywhere until I find out who's taking my son.
Eve: You know, you're not going to be able to keep the identity of the adoptive parents secret because we're going to find out sooner or later.
Harriet: This is highly unorthodox.
T.C.: You know what, lady? You want to see unorthodox? I will show you --
Liz: T.C., T.C., calm down.
Julian: We are not leaving.
Chad: Will all of you keep your voices down? You're going to wake him up.
Whitney: Oh, my god. You've adopted the baby?
On the Next Passions:
Eve: How can you let this go on? Fox is out there falling in love with a baby that's not his.
Luis: There is no doubt in the world that Marty is Beth's son.
Mrs. Wallace: There's got to be a logical explanation why those D.N.A. results turned out so wrong!
