Sam: I'm telling you, Ivy, you wouldn't believe this sleazy place.

Ivy: When will you be home, Sam?

Sam: As soon as I take care of this lowlife club owner.

Ivy: I still can't believe that the same person was allowed to open another club.

Sam: Look, Ivy, there are ways of getting around the law, and this guy Spike seems to know all of them. So help me, god, I got to shut this place down before he hurts another young girl like he did Jessica.

Spike: So, what changed your mind, sweet lips? Earlier tonight you said I was too old for you.

Jessica: Well, I was wrong. I thought about it, and you're just my type.

Spike: Well, that's good news. Hate to waste that nice decoration that you got.

Jessica: Right.

Spike: How soon can you be here?

Jessica: You mean, come back there tonight?

Spike: I thought you said you'd changed your mind about me.

Jessica: I have, I did. Sure. I can be there in a little while.

Spike: All right. Be here soon. I'm a busy guy.

Jessica: I know, Spike. I'll be there as soon as I can.

Luis: You know, we're not just talking about anybody here.

Sheridan: I know.

Luis: You're absolutely convinced, aren't you?

Sheridan: Yeah. I've never been more sure of anything in my life, Luis. Marty is our son.

Luis: So you realize that that means that Beth was responsible for your kidnapping and attempted murder?

Sheridan: And making it look like our baby died? Keeping Marty for herself so that she could raise him? Yes. Look, I can't make sense of any of this. But once the tests come in, you'll see that I'm right. You'll finally believe me.

Beth: Luis can't possibly fall for all her ranting and raving. He just can't.

Mrs. Wallace: Well, you are missing a couple of things here, Bethie. One, Sheridan's telling the truth. Two, Luis is a cop. He knows the good guys from the bad guys. And once those D.N.A. results come back, boy, your house of cards is going to come tumbling down like so much confetti.

Beth: No.

Mrs. Wallace: Yes. Oh, and do not expect me to come visiting you in jail with tasty little snacks from home because I won't. I'm going to be long gone here once that judge bangs down that gavel and convicts you of attempted murder and abduction of Luis and Sheridan's little baby boy. You know what I think I'll do? I'm going to go visit Precious in the jungle. This way we can celebrate that justice has been served. Tra-la!

Gwen: Ethan, is it too much to ask for what's fair?

Ethan: Gwen, I --

Gwen: Listen, whatever it is, just say it, ok? If you are going to leave me for Theresa and if you are going to take that beautiful baby away from me forever, then just do it. Don't keep me hanging.

Theresa: So, who are you going to choose, Ethan? Who are you going to spend the rest of your life with?

[Jane whimpers]

Theresa: Shh, shh, shh, shh.

Sam: This slime ball doesn't even deserve to be on the street.

Ivy: He's not the one who raped Jessica, Sam.

Sam: It wouldn't have happened if this guy wasn't in the business of selling drugs and letting underage kids in his club with a fake I.D. No, Ivy, he's equally to blame. How's Jessica?

Ivy: Jessica? Yeah, she's fine. She's here in the living room with me, talking on the phone with a friend.

Sam: Thank god. I don't know what to think about her anymore, Ivy. I mean, I would have thought after Randy's attack, she wouldn't even want to go out of the house. Instead she's acting like nothing ever happened.

Ivy: Well, we all handle trauma in our own way, Sam.

Sam: Yeah, I know. That's why I'm not going to stop until I shut this guy and his new club down for good. I'll be home soon. Get off the phone, you punk. I'm not done with you yet.

Spike: How long is "soon," baby?

Jessica: Are you going to miss me?

[Jessica laughs]

Jessica: See you.

Ivy: Who was that on the phone, Jessica?

Sheridan: You still don't believe me, do you?

Luis: I believe that you believe it.

Sheridan: Come on, Luis, don't humor me! Either you believe Marty is our son or you don't.

Luis: Look, Sheridan, there's nothing that I would want more in this whole, wide world than to believe that Marty is our lost son.

Sheridan: But you don't think it's possible?

Luis: It would mean that Beth is a monster. I've known her since high school, Sheridan. How could that possibly be?

Mrs. Wallace: I said you were not going to get away with this sham forever. You got to count your blessings, Bethie. You got to praise the angels that you have had so much time with Marty because all that time is coming to a close.

Beth: No, I can't lose him. I won't lose him. I love him, Mother.

Mrs. Wallace: That may be, but he's not your son! Bethie, your goose was cooked the minute that young lab technician took that D.N.A. sample from Marty, and once those results come back, the curtain is going down on your Mother of the Year act!

Beth: Well, I won't let it! I don't care what I have to do. I will not let it happen.

Gwen: Ethan, please, just spit it out. Is it going to be Theresa or me?

Theresa: Ethan? I'm your newborn baby's mother.

Gwen: Because you killed my babies, Theresa! My god, please let her know what it feels like to lose what she wants most!

Theresa: Listen to me. Don't let her bully you into doing something you're going to regret. Because that's what she did to you when she got you to marry her, when you found out that she was pregnant.

Gwen: How dare you stand there and call me a bully after all the stunts that you pulled to take Ethan away from me. I mean, Theresa, where should I start? I mean, should I go all the way back to the beginning when you kept Ethan's paternity a secret from him? Or should I just jump ahead to your most recent abominations, like when you drugged our surrogate so you could steal our embryos?

[Jane cries]

Theresa: Shh, shh, shh.

Gwen: Maybe I should just start with when you wore a blond wig and you tried to trick him into sleeping with you so he would be -- I mean, I can go on and on and on here.

Katherine: Gwen, please, just try not to get yourself upset again.

Fox: Ok, look, I know this is really important. Really, I do, but we should really get the hell out of here before more guards come, don't you think?

Ethan: You got to make sure the plane is refueled and ready to go. Go ahead.

Theresa: You know what? You can call me every name in the book, Gwen. You can accuse me of anything that you want, but it's not going to change the truth that Ethan loves me more than he loves you.

Gwen: Really, honey? Well, then why is he married to me?

Theresa: Because he's a good man, Gwen. He didn't know how to walk away from you when he found out that you were pregnant. But you know what? You're not anymore, so there's no reason for him to stay with you. Now he can follow his heart. And you know what? No matter how many times you get him to come back to you, he's always going to be drawn to me. Like it or not, I am the mother of his only child, this little girl right here in my arms.

Gwen: How dare you stand there and throw that in my face, you sick --

Theresa: You know how much being a father means to Ethan, Gwen, probably because he didn't get to grow up with his own.

[Jane fusses]

Theresa: Shh, shh, shh. But you know what? Do you really think he's going to choose you when it means turning his back on this little girl right here and her mother?

Gwen: Is she right? Are you going to leave me for her?

Spike: Oh, you still here, officer?

Sam: I just want to make sure there's no misunderstanding.

Spike: Oh, right, about you closing down my new place like you did my old one.

Sam: You use that tone of voice with me one more time, and I'll do more than close your doors.

Spike: Don't they have a civilian review board for cops who want to take the law into their own hands?

Sam: Oh, you think you're real smart, don't you? Well, we'll see how far that gets you, buddy.

Spike: Yeah, we will.

Sam: If I hear one word of drugs being used in this place or underage girls in back rooms, you'd wish you'd gotten yourself a nine-to-five job.

Spike: Oh, is that right, Mr. Chief of Police Bennett?

Sam: Not another word! Not another word.

Spike: You don't think you like what I'm up to now, cop man? Well, if you only knew who was on her way over here right now.

Ivy: So, who was that on the phone, Jessica? Who were you flirting with?

Jessica: I don't owe you any explanation, Ivy. Don't you get it yet? I'm the one calling the shots between us now.

Ivy: You know, I promised your father I would look after you in his absence, so I am going to demand an answer.

Jessica: Oh, demand all you want. But I'm not telling you a thing about my phone calls, my life, or my plans, and there's not a damn thing you can do about it. That is, unless you want to tell Daddy I'm out of control, but I think we both know what he'd do if he hears that.

Ivy: Damn you, Jessica.

Jessica: He'll call Mom back in Europe and tell her to rush home on the next flight. We both know what would happen if Mom and Dad were under the same roof again in the home they shared together for so long. I wonder how long it would take to rekindle the happy memories and get back together. Yeah, and you know what? I don't think Mom would go for you moving back into the garage apartment. Night!

Ivy: Where are you going?

Jessica: Out.

Sheridan: Ok, I know that you and Beth share a long, emotional history together.

Luis: I almost married her, Sheridan. But, look, Beth is a good, caring person. You know, she works hard to manage the Book Café. She takes care of her mother.

Sheridan: All I know is the truth that's in my heart. And I'm sorry, I can't help if it doesn't make sense in relation to Beth.

Luis: Sheridan, come on. Think about it, ok? If you're right, it means that Beth kidnapped you, that she tried to kill you, that she somehow made it look as though our baby died.

Sheridan: Yeah, I know.

Luis: Honey, please. What about Beth's pregnancy? She was pregnant the whole time you were.

Sheridan: Maybe she was faking that, too. I mean, maybe that was part of her plan -- to fake her pregnancy.

Luis: I remember Gwen was suspicious of Beth at that time during her pregnancy. She actually went to Beth's doctor to have her checked out, to see if she was pregnant. She was.

Sheridan: Ok, I don't know how to make any sense of any of this. I just know what I know. What about the D.N.A. test, huh?

Luis: What about it?

Sheridan: Why has Beth constantly fought us in having a D.N.A. test done? You saw how she acted tonight.

Luis: Yeah, you're right, and I was suspicious of her at first. But once she explained herself, I realized she's just an overprotective mother.

Sheridan: That's her story. I have another explanation. She knows that when we get those results, the truth is finally going to come out.

Beth: You can torture me as much as you want. I am not giving in to your never-ending negativity!

Mrs. Wallace: Oh, my negativity is mild compared to your heinous acts!

Beth: The reason that Sheridan is not going to get Marty back is because I am his mother.

Mrs. Wallace: Oh, now who's hallucinating?

Beth: I am his mother in every way that counts. I've raised him from the day that he was born.

Mrs. Wallace: No, you mean the day that you kidnapped him from Sheridan.

Beth: Not the point. I am the only mother that Marty has ever known. And, sure, he likes Sheridan, but he knows her as Aunt Sheridan, ok? I'm the one that stays up nights when he's not feeling well. I'm the one that reads "The Wind in the Willows" 110 times. I'm the one he looks at when he says "Mommy"!

Mrs. Wallace: Ok! Ok, ok. No one's saying that you're mistreating the boy.

Beth: Oh, yeah? You could have fooled me. Doesn't what I've done count for something?

Mrs. Wallace: Well, Bethie, you're going to have to ask the judge and jury about that, and something tells me that's not going to hold water once they find out that you attempted to murder Marty's mommy just to get Luis! You know? But aside from all that, yeah, right, you could be Mother of the Year.

Beth: Yeah. Thanks for your usual maternal support, Mother. Just help me figure out what to do!

Mrs. Wallace: Stop it! You're barking up the wrong tree here, missy. Precious was the brains around here.

Beth: Yeah, well, Precious isn't here. I got to do something. Maybe I can get on the computer. There's got to be someplace out there that can whip up some fake passports for me.

Mrs. Wallace: Hey, hey, hey, that was my idea, you know.

Beth: By the time those D.N.A. test results come back, Marty and I have got to be far, far away.

Theresa: You've thought about it, too, as much as I have -- what our lives would be like if you ended your marriage to Gwen. You're already like a father to little Ethan, and you're Jane's daddy, right? This is our chance to have what we always dreamed about together -- a warm, happy home full of love and laughter and children and each other. Ethan, the harsh reality is Gwen could never give you children.

Gwen: Because of you, Theresa. Because of you! Do you have no heart at all? You caused me to lose Sarah, and you caused me to lose my last chance of having a baby. My baby boy didn't even stand a chance because you were pulling all the strings!

Fox: This is worse than anything I could have imagined.

Katherine: I care for Martin's daughter, but I can hardly bear Gwen's pain.

Fox: We really have to go.

Ethan: Yeah, we do need to go.

Fox: Whoa, whoa, whoa, not that fast, though. Hold on. Why don't you go ahead and tell them your decision? Let's not leave them dangling any longer, huh?

Ethan: You're right. You're right. I've already made my choice, and I know who I'm going to be with.

 [Door slams]

Ivy: Sam, are -- are you ok?

Sam: No. No, I'm not. I can't believe this slime is allowed in this world.

Ivy: You mean the guy who opened up the new club?

Sam: Yeah. We shut down the old one, but he's got this one up and running in no time flat. He denies it, but I know the same ugly business is going on inside that club. I'm sure of it!

Ivy: You mean drugs?

Sam: Yeah, and underage girls. You name it. He knows how to hide the illegal stuff so it looks like he's playing by the rules.

Ivy: Well, there must be something you can do.

Sam: I hope so. I'll be damned if another girl is hurt the same way Jessica was.

Ivy: Yes. As her father, that must be killing you.

Sam: Her father and the chief of police of this town. I wish I had been more watchful over Jess. She'd still be the same innocent girl she was before all this happened.

Ivy: Sam, you really can't blame yourself. I mean, you said this guy was a really nasty character. There's no way you or anyone could have foreseen or prevented what happened.

Sam: Maybe not. Look, maybe I can't turn the clock back on my little girl's innocence. But I can keep it from happening to somebody else's little girl. And I can keep it from happening to Jessica again. Where is she? I want to talk to her.

Ivy: No, Sam!

Spike: Look no further, sweet lips. I am right here.

Jessica: Spike, hi. I got here as soon as I could. I was thinking maybe we could go out for our first date. Maybe dinner and a movie?

Spike: You got to be kidding. How old are you, sweetheart, 13?

Jessica: No, I just thought --

Spike: That stuff is for losers. Why go anyplace when we got paradise right here?

Jessica: Right.

Luis: Beth doesn't have a devious bone in her body. I would know if she was doing something as horrible as this.

Sheridan: Well, you know what? Desperate people -- they do desperate things. My god, if we had only done this D.N.A. test a long time ago, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. All of this would be resolved.

Luis: And you blame me for that, don't you? You blame me for not making Beth do a D.N.A. test on Marty a long time ago.

Mrs. Wallace: I suppose I should be thankful that you're only planning kidnapping again. At least it's not murder this time.

Beth: Where'd you get that idea?

Mrs. Wallace: Well, you just said you were going to take Marty and run. I mean, I'm glad, very glad you're not going to hurt anybody.

Beth: Wrong again, Mother. Sheridan has to die, and believe me, she will.

Ethan: The reason this is so difficult is because I don't want to hurt either one of you. You've both been patient with me, and I care about you both so much. And I -- I hate that this situation has gotten to the point where a moment like this is even necessary.

Fox: Listen, maybe we could get the "Cliff's Notes" version of the intro, huh?

Ethan: I just wish that I had been stronger earlier so none of us had to go through this.

Gwen: It's ok.

Theresa: I know you'll follow your heart.

Ethan: I will promise you this, though. There will be no more second-guessing. There will be no more wavering. I will be decisive from now on, and I will say what I mean, and I will mean what I say.

Fox: Any day now, man, come on.

Ethan: I've made my choice. I made the only choice I could make.

Theresa: I knew that you would choose --

Ethan: I've chosen to respect the vows that I made in church under god. I've chosen Gwen, my wife.

Theresa: No. You --

Theresa: Oh, this can't be. You can't be choosing Gwen.

Ethan: Theresa, I'm sorry.

Theresa: But you love me, Ethan. I know you love me. You cannot walk away from me and your child to be with another woman!

Ethan: The "other woman" is my wife.

Theresa: But you only married her because she was pregnant, and you felt like you had to do the right thing. But you love me. I know you do.

Gwen: You mean it, don't you? You really mean it?

Ethan: I do mean it. Katherine, can you do me a favor?

Katherine: Of course.

Ethan: Can you stay with Gwen? I need a moment with Theresa.

Katherine: Of course.

Ethan: Thank you.

Fox: Let me see. Come on. Come on. Hey. The plane is ready, ok, so --

Ethan: Gotcha. I know you're upset.

Theresa: No. No, you don't understand. You can't possibly understand.

Ethan: Listen, listen -- look at me. Look at me. You mean more to me than you'll ever know.

Theresa: You know what? I know that you love me. I know you do. You even admitted the only reason you married her was because she was pregnant.

Ethan: I do not deny that.

Theresa: Then how can you stay married with her now, Ethan? I have your child. I'm the mother of your child, and I know that you love me.

Ethan: You're missing my point. She's my wife. I'm married to her. I cannot leave her because life throws me some unexpected turns, Theresa. I cannot leave her because she can't give me children. That isn't what marriage is about. I'm sorry. My mind is made up, Theresa. It's made up.

Sheridan: Look, Luis, I don't blame you. There were reasons beyond your control that prevented you from getting Marty's D.N.A. before this.

Luis: Yeah, but I could have --

Sheridan: I'm just glad that we got the test, ok, and that the lab has the samples and we're soon going to get the results.

Luis: I just don't want to see you be disappointed when the results come in.

Sheridan: I won't be. I'm not claiming to know all of this. I'm even having a hard time figuring out how Beth could have or would have put all of this together and pulled this off. All I know is what I know in my heart -- that that little boy is mine, ours. I can feel it when I hold him in my arms. And it's as if he knows it, too, that I'm his mommy.

Luis: He's a child, Sheridan. I mean, he's just barely started talking.

Sheridan: Luis, he doesn't have to voice his feelings, ok? This is something that's instinctual. It's something that you sense rather than describe in words.

Luis: Well, there's a logical explanation as to why you feel a connection with him. You were able to breastfeed him when Beth couldn't.

Sheridan: Furthermore proving my point. Why was I able to, and not Beth?

Luis: Well, Sheridan, it happens, ok? There are lots of reasons why mothers are not able to breastfeed their newborn children.

Sheridan: I just know what I know, ok?

Luis: I know. I don't want to see you get hurt again. I mean, you've already been through so much. I'm just afraid if the D.N.A. results prove that Marty isn't yours --

Sheridan: That I'll end up in the loony bin? Is that what you were going to say? You know what, Luis? You're right. You have every reason to worry. Because if those results come back that Marty is not my child, I -- I really don't know what I'll do.

Mrs. Wallace: You cannot be serious! You cannot go down that road again!

Beth: Why not?

Mrs. Wallace: Well, for starters, every time you have tried to kill Sheridan, you have failed. Will you just quit while you are ahead? Take Marty and run, for heaven's sakes. You don't have to kill his mommy. There's no reason for it!

Beth: Says you. The way I see it, there's more reasons now than ever. Plus, the fact is I have less to lose. So as long as I'm going to be on the run for kidnapping Marty, I might as well get my heart's desire on the way out. The way I see it, it's just divine justice. If I can't have Luis, she can't have him either.

Mrs. Wallace: Ugh.

Sam: Why not? Why can't I go check on my own daughter?

Ivy: Sam, it's just -- it's been a really, really long night for her. I never thought she'd turn in and fall asleep, and she finally did. Just let her be.

Sam: I want to go just peek in on her.

Ivy: And risk waking her up? I wouldn't if I were you. Just let her rest. She needs it.

Sam: Yeah, you're right. Look, it's late. I'll check on her tomorrow. And thank you.

Ivy: What for?

Sam: Helping me through this thing with her. Look, I'm sorry I accused you of only thinking about yourself. I mean, god knows it's not easy playing stepmother to either one of my girls.

Ivy: It's all right.

Sam: No, it's not. I mean, Jessica's been a real handful since that night at the club, and I know she's angry at me for grounding her. Look, I don't know what I'd do without you.

Ivy: You're never going to have to find out.

Sam: You know, I wish I could put this whole sordid mess behind me, but I can't, knowing this guy is doing business as usual. I won't rest until he's put behind bars and that club is shut down for good. I have to follow through for Jessica because I know she wants this guy behind bars just as bad as I do.

Jessica: Ow, Spike, you're hurting me!

Spike: Oh, I'm sorry. I just don't want to lose you again. I hated the way you left earlier.

Jessica: I had to get home.

Spike: No matter, now that you're back here now. Welcome.

Spike: Hey, don't tell me that you're still nervous about being with me. I thought we're simpatico.

Jessica: We are. I just -- I don't know. I'm just not sure what you have in mind for our date.

Spike: "Date," right. Well, I got a surprise for you. Come with me.

Jessica: Oh. Where?

Spike: Jessica, are you with me or aren't you?

Jessica: I'm with you.

Spike: Good answer.

Jessica: This is the bedroom.

Spike: Well, that's the surprise.

Sheridan: Every day I wonder if I've lost my mind all over again.

Luis: Don't say that.

Sheridan: How can I not say that when nobody believes me --

Luis: Well, look --

Sheridan: Including the people who say that they love me?

Luis: It's not that we don't want to believe you, honey.

Sheridan: Yeah, but you think that my theory is just too far-fetched. I know you, Luis. I know what you're thinking. And I know that you think that this is impossible. But you know what? I don't care, because I know that I'm right, and the D.N.A. tests are going to prove it.

Beth: It'll just be cleaner if Sheridan's dead. I mean, think of it as me doing her a favor. She won't be in agony because I've taken her boy. I'm saving her a lifetime of pain and sorrow.

Mrs. Wallace: Oh, this is too sick! Ugh.

Beth: Plus, as mad as I am at Luis right now, I'm not above forgiving him someday if he chooses to come to his senses.

Mrs. Wallace: Meaning?

Beth: Meaning, he may someday understand why I did what I did. It was because I loved him. And once he realizes that, there's no reason that we can't be together on down the road.

Mrs. Wallace: You really think he is going to forgive you for kidnapping Marty and for killing his one true love?

Beth: And then he'll marry me. And then he and Marty and I -- we're going to live happily ever after.

Mrs. Wallace: Well, I'm not going to be holding my breath waiting for that wedding invitation.

Gwen: I must be dreaming.

Katherine: I don't think you're dreaming. I think Ethan wants to spend the rest of his life with you.

Gwen: He loves me. He really loves me.

Katherine: I certainly hope Ethan can convince Theresa to accept his decision and move on with -- with her life.

Fox: Well, if you think that, you don't know Theresa very well, Grandmother. She doesn't give up that easily.

Theresa: I mean, it's not too late to change your mind, Ethan. You can walk back in there and you can tell Gwen that you made a mistake, that you weren't thinking this through, and we can still be the family that we dreamed about -- you, me, little Ethan, and Jane.

Ethan: Theresa, no.

Theresa: Ethan, don't do this to me, not after everything that we've been through. You're Jane's father. You have a responsibility to her. Don't let her grow up without you.

Ethan: I have no intention of doing that.

Theresa: You going to be some kind of part-time father to her? What about being there for her around the clock? Being there for her first steps? Walking her to her first day of school, her first play? All those things that you missed with Sam. All the things that you never had with Julian. You said that they meant so much to you. And it's not just turning your back on me now. It's turning your back on your daughter.

Ethan: I won't do that.

Theresa: You are if you choose Gwen. Ethan, everything that you said you ever wanted is standing right here in front of you. Choose me. Choose your family.

Sam: I think Spike is just as bad as the guy who violated my daughter, maybe even worse.

Ivy: "Spike." What a name.

Sam: Fits him perfectly.

Spike: Gosh, you're so tense.

Jessica: I just thought we were going out somewhere.

Spike: Yeah, but why go anywhere when we have everything we need right here? Anyone seen your new tattoo?

Jessica: Are you kidding? My father would kill me.

Spike: Oh, my god -- we wouldn't want that, now, would we? It looks good on you, baby. Do you like it?

Jessica: Sure. I always wondered what it'd be like to have a tattoo.

Spike: You stick with me, and you're going to have all kinds of new experiences. Come here.

Spike: You do want to be my girl, don't you?

Jessica: Of course I do.

Mrs. Wallace: You honestly think that you and Luis have a shot at happily ever after if you kidnap Marty and kill Sheridan?

Beth: Maybe.

Mrs. Wallace: Let me tell you how Luis is going to spend the rest of his life if you kill the one woman that he loves. He is going to spend every hour of every day tracking you down like the rabid dog that you are, and he is not going to rest, Bethie, until he sees you rotting in jail! And he will never, ever, ever, ever forgive you!

Beth: Well, you don't have a crystal ball, Mother.

Mrs. Wallace: Oh. I don't need one. You want to be happy? You grab Marty and run. Forget about Sheridan. Forget about Luis.

Beth: Damn, I wish she was dead.

Mrs. Wallace: Oh, yeah, you wish she was -- well, you should be worrying about how and where you're going to be taking Marty.

Beth: Maybe you're right. I got to get those fake I.D.'s. tonight. Marty and I have got to get out of town before those D.N.A. test results come back and Luis and Sheridan figure out what I've done.

Sheridan: I know you don't believe me. But you'll see when the test results come back in. And I'll forgive you for having your doubts. You know why? Because I'll finally be reunited with my son. We'll finally be the way that we should have been when he first came into this world. Once I have him, I won't ever let anyone take him away from me again.

Ethan: No. I'm sorry. Gwen is my wife, and I've made my choice.

Theresa: But, Ethan --

Ethan: Theresa, no. No more. No more pleading, no more -- no more begging. This is hard enough on everyone. Too hard. And I promise you, I will be the best Dad I can be to Jane, I swear to god. And I will not miss one of those moments, one of those precious moments that you were describing to me. But the bottom line is I have got to stay with my wife. I'm sorry.

Theresa: No, Ethan.

Fox: You let him go. You let him go, ok? Look at me. You are a beautiful, strong woman. You're going to make it, you understand me? You can take this.

Theresa: No, I can't. I can't.

Gwen: I love you. I love you so much.

Ethan: I love you, too.

On the Next Passions:

Gwen: Not only have you lost Ethan, but you're going to lose your little girl to me.
