Sheridan: Marty has been kidnapped by my father. That man is just pure evil!
Luis: All right, don't worry. We're going to find Marty. There's no way your father is keeping my son from me.
Sheridan: Oh, Sam, thank god you're here. Marty has been taken by my father.
Sam: I know. Luis called me at the station. Now, listen, I have both airports shut down, I have units posted on the interstate, ok? Trust me, Alistair won't get very far with Marty.
Luis: Yeah, if that's what he plans on doing with him. We have no idea. Maybe he wants to kill Marty and leave him someplace local so we can find him.
Sheridan: Oh, god, Luis, don't say such a thing.
Luis: Well, I'm sorry, Sheridan, but it's completely possible. He's killed my brother, he's tried to kill us god knows how many times.
Sheridan: Sam, you have to find Marty, please. You and Luis have to save that sweet little boy from my father.
Alistair: You know, your daddy's right, Marty. I am capable of doing anything, like taking you away from your long-suffering mama. You know, I had hoped that by giving you to Beth that she would say that this is Luis' son and that would draw him away from your mommy, Sheridan. But that didn't happen. Your father is going to marry your mother anyway, and he's going to get access to some of my secrets. And I just can't let that happen, even if it means I have to kill one of my own family.
[Knock on door]
Martin: Hmm. Hmm. Hello, sweetheart.
Paloma: Hula, Papi.
Martin: Thanks for coming over.
Paloma: So, why did you want to see me here at Mama's house?
Martin: Well --
Pilar: Martin, I ironed your shirt. I love you in -- blue.
Paloma: Mama seduced you, didn't she? That's why you gave up on Tia Katherine.
Fox: Oh, look -- fresh-squeezed. Anybody want a glass?
Gwen: What I would really like is an explanation.
Fox: An explanation? All right. I don't know much about it, but I guess what you do is get yourself a juicer, a couple of oranges --
Gwen: Oh, FFox, please. I'm not stupid, you know? Explain what you're talking about not wanting to escape anymore. How is it that all of a sudden you're just ok with living here as Alistair's prisoner?
Katherine: I would like to understand this, too, dear.
Fox: Right. Ok, well, it's like this -- I would rather be Alistair's prisoner than be dead. And what better place to be held than here at a Crane compound? We have everything we could ever want.
Gwen: What about Whitney? I mean, you don't even know if she's had your baby yet.
Fox: Look, Whitney's mom is a doctor, ok? She's going to be fine. I gave her my power of attorney. Everything's fine.
Gwen: Ok, well, what about your son or daughter? You know that being held prisoner, you'll never see your baby.
Fox: I don't know what to tell you.
Chad: Why, I don't know. I can't keep my eyes off that baby, man. Crazy, huh?
Ethan: Chad, maybe it's like I said before. Whitney's baby is a living reminder of what you will never have with her -- you know, having a family, being married. You know, these are all the things that you dreamed about sharing with her, you know.
Chad: It's more than that, man. I have a connection with this baby, a real connection.
Theresa: Chad feels a connection to the baby because it's his baby, too.
Eve: Whitney was going to tell him the truth, but then she just couldn't bring herself to do it. You know, I don't know what would happen if Chad just figured out the truth all by himself. And poor Fox. I mean, what if he comes back just to find out that Chad is the father of the baby and not him?
Theresa: Whitney's planning to place her baby up for adoption before anyone learns her secret. But to actually sign away her baby -- I wonder if it's something that she can do.
George: I assure you the papers are in order, Miss Russell. Sign them and we can finalize the adoption.
Harriet: We're going to place your baby with a wonderful family. You can even meet the adoptive parents if you like.
Whitney: No. I don't want them or my baby to ever see me or even know who I am.
George: As you wish.
Harriet: Is there anything else?
Whitney: Well -- no, no, no. I'm doing what's best for my baby. Great.
Whitney's voice: I'm sorry, baby. This has to be goodbye.
Sheridan: I want to help search for Marty.
Luis: No way.
Sheridan: Why not?
Luis: Because your father could be using Marty as bait to kidnap you or to brainwash you again.
Sheridan: I don't care. I have to find Marty.
Luis: Look, I just want you to stay here, ok, where you're safe. Sam and I are going to join the search.
Sam: Luis has a point. Alistair wouldn't think twice about trying to hurt you again.
Sheridan: All right, fine. I'll stay here.
Luis: With the doors locked.
Sheridan: Promise me you will call as soon as you find anything.
Luis: Of course I will.
Sam: Let's go.
Sheridan: I'm sorry, Luis. I can't just sit here and wait for word. I have to go find my son.
Martin: Nobody seduced anybody, Paloma.
Pilar: Palomita, we are sleeping in separate rooms, mija.
Martin: Your mother and I decided it's time that we try to reunite our family, heal the wounds I caused by leaving Harmony all those years ago.
Pilar: Your father and I are focused on -- on getting everyone to start getting along, Paloma, on letting go of their anger, myself included.
Martin: And this is part of a process, and we want you to be part of it.
Paloma: But what about Tia Katherine? How could you just let her go after what she's meant to you?
Martin: Honey, Katherine let me go. Part of why she left was so that I'd be able to reunite with your mother. I mean, and that's what I'm trying to do. I want a relationship with my wife and with all of my children, and I want you to have a relationship with your mother.
Pilar: I want that, too, Paloma, very much.
Paloma: I don't care what you both want. Mama sent me away like I was garbage, and I was supposed to forgive her? No. This woman was never a mother to me. Only Katherine.
Katherine: Fox, you were so looking forward to being a father. Are you telling me that's changed?
Fox: Well, to tell you the truth, the closer Whitney got to her due date, the more stressful things got, you know? I could see her being a total control freak once the baby's born and -- I don't know -- who cares if I'm not there to change dirty diapers and mop up drool and feed the baby at all hours, you know? It's bad enough to have to do those things, let alone being yelled at for doing it wrong. So am I sad to be stuck here with you two? No.
Gwen: I can't believe what a jerk Fox is being. He doesn't even care he's going to be cut off from Whitney and their child for as long as Alistair lives? It could be 10 or 20 years from now.
Katherine: I don't understand it. Last night he was so heroic, trying to help us escape. Today he's --
Gwen: Yeah, he's got the worst qualities a Crane could possess. He's selfish and self-centered.
Katherine: And so indifferent.
Gwen: You know, I used to think that Theresa was the most selfish person I had ever met, and today Fox is about 10 times worse than Theresa.
Chad: Mom, how's Whitney doing?
Eve: Oh, she's fine. And Dr. Carlyle says the baby is much better, too.
Chad: That's great.
Ethan: Yeah, that's good news.
Chad: Uh, is Whitney nursing yet, or --
Eve: Well, you know, Chad, I've been so busy with other patients, I really don't know.
Theresa: I don't know either.
Chad: Ok. Is it -- is it too soon for me to see Whitney?
Eve: Well, you know, she was up very late last night. I think we should let her get a chance to catch up on her sleep.
Chad: Yeah, I just wanted to let her know that I'm here, even if Fox isn't.
Theresa: She knows that, Chad.
Eve: Yeah, so don't rush in to see her just yet.
Ethan: Yeah, it's ok. Whitney's not going anywhere and the baby's not going anywhere.
Whitney: There. My baby is officially put up for adoption.
George: Well, actually, Miss Russell, it's not official yet.
Harriet: We still need the signature of the baby's father.
Whitney: Oh. Sorry, I forgot about that. I can actually sign for the father. See, I have his power of attorney. He gave it to me before he left in case he couldn't make it back here in time. Is there a problem? I mean, our attorney, Ethan Winthrop -- he notarized the paper and everything, so it's fine.
Harriet: Yes, we can see that.
Whitney: Ok, then what's the problem?
George: Well, this is highly irregular, having one party sign for both.
Whitney: Yeah, it may be irregular, but it's legal. I have the authority to sign on Fox's behalf. Now, just -- just let me sign the paper, ok?
George: Uh, what's your rush?
Whitney: Well, why are you guys dragging your feet? I mean, you rushed over here so fast, and that power of attorney is valid! You have to let me sign.
Martin: Your mother loves you very much. Sending you away to live with your Aunt Maria when you were a baby girl was the hardest thing that she ever had to do, but she did it because she honestly thought it was best for you.
Paloma: That's what everyone says, but --
Martin: That's because it's true. Now, I'm the one to blame for you being sent away -- not your mother, me. If I had never left Harmony, she never would've had to make that choice. Now, if you trust me, you have to believe that.
Pilar: So es la verdad, Paloma. God's honest truth.
Martin: Sweetheart, I want you to have a relationship with your mother. Now, I'm not asking for hugs and kisses right now. Those will take time. But I have faith that if we try, then we can get past all our old hurts and try to mend our differences and be a family again. Please, sweetheart, work with your mother and me.
Pilar: I love you, Paloma, very much. Please, give me a chance to prove it. It would mean so much to your father and to me. I want my daughter back. I want my Paloma back.
Alistair: Ok. My sources tell me your mother should be here shortly, and I can't wait to see her face. No, I can hardly wait to see her face when she finds out what's become of you. Yeah.
Sheridan: Marty? Marty, where are you?
Sheridan: Oh, my god. My father is trying to smother my son! Father, stop it! Stop it right now!
Alistair: Oh, will you -- stop what? I was just wiping the little boy's nose.
Sheridan: Give him to me. Give me Marty!
Alistair: No, you cannot have Marty, not until we have a little talk, child.
Chad: Have you heard from Fox today?
Ethan: Nope. I haven't heard from him since he left, and that worries me.
Chad: You know, Fox and I may be at odds over Whitney, but I don't want to see him getting hurt.
Ethan: And we both know what Alistair could do if he finds out that Fox went to rescue Gwen and Jane and at the same time let out Katherine's whereabouts.
Chad: It's like my father said last night -- Alistair could end up killing Fox.
Theresa: Ethan? Are you ready to go home?
Eve: I think Theresa should rest.
Ethan: Ok. Let's go.
Chad: It's good to see Theresa's walking again. But it must be hell for her not having her baby.
Eve: It is.
Chad: That's why even if Whitney's baby isn't 100%, at least she knows where he is and that someone's not going to take him to raise him.
Whitney: Don't tell me you need Fox's signature before you can put my baby up for adoption, because that power of attorney gives me the legal right to act on his behalf.
George: You're correct, Miss Russell. You have the legal right to sign the papers, so we're not going to stop you.
Whitney: Ok. Good.
Harriet: But we'd like to talk to you a moment first.
Whitney: You know, I'm tired of talking. I just want to get this thing over with.
George: We're sorry, but before we can get this thing over with, you need to answer a few questions.
Harriet: First we'd like to know why you've decided to put your baby up for adoption.
George: Is there one reason in particular?
Martin: Paloma, now, you heard how much your mother loves you and she wants you back in her life. It's what I want, too, and can't you at least be open to the possibility that we'd, you know, give her another chance so we could all be a family again?
Paloma: Katherine wanted me to give Mama another chance.
Martin: Yes, she did.
Paloma: All right. I'll try.
Pilar: Gracias, mija. Gracias.
Martin: Hey, you know, and while you're thinking about it, we'd like you to move in here with us.
Pilar: Yes. You could have your own room, ok, and you can decorate it any way you like, just like I promised you.
Martin: And it would help us all get used to being around each other. You know, that's the first step on the road to being a family again.
Theresa: "On the road to being a family again"? What's going on?
Paloma: Dios mio.
Pilar: You're -- you're walking again!
Fox: It's cold when you get out.
Gwen: Fox, did being, like, zapped by a laser fry your brain or something? Because this attitude of yours just isn't making any sense.
Katherine: Gwen has a point. You came all this way to save us from your grandfather and only to just bask in his hospitality?
Fox: Well, can't a guy change his mind? Or is that still a woman's prerogative?
Gwen: Ok, this is not about changing your mind. This is about just giving up.
Fox: What the hell am I giving up, Gwen? As far as I know, I'm still disinherited, right? Which means taking over Crane Industries is out.
Katherine: What about Whitney and your baby?
Fox: Whitney? That woman refused to marry me. I asked her, she said no. Plus, she's got her brother there, sick Chad. He wants to live with her and raise my child and be its daddy/uncle. They'll be fine.
Gwen: So, what, you're just going to eat, swim, and be celibate the rest of your life?
Fox: Well, let's not get carried away. But two out of three isn't bad. I'm sure when the need arises, my grandfather can arrange for home delivery of female companionship.
Katherine: Fox. I thought you were above all that.
Fox: Well, yeah. I mean, above, below -- it doesn't matter to me. I don't care. It's up to her.
Gwen: So that's it? I mean, just to hell with Whitney and your baby, right?
Fox: Pretty much, yeah.
Gwen: Well, you know what? That's just great. You go ahead and you stay here and you act like a jerk, but I am going to find a way for us to get out of here with or without you.
Whitney: No offense, but my reasons for putting my baby up for adoption are private.
George: Well, it's just that so many aspects of your case are unsettling.
Harriet: We've never seen a woman in your situation give up a baby before.
Whitney: My situation?
George: Well, your decision doesn't seem to be based on financial hardship. Your mother is a doctor, the baby's father is a Crane, and by all accounts, Nicholas is extremely devoted to you.
Whitney: That's true, but --
Harriet: We have to make sure that this decision is in the best interest of both parents and the child.
George: We need to know that after giving the baby up, neither you nor the father will change your mind.
Harriet: Mr. Crane could use his family's considerable power to take the child back from the adoptive parents.
George: A move which would cause immense pain and suffering to all the parties involved.
Harriet: Especially the baby.
Whitney: I understand what you're saying, but you don't have to worry about that in my situation. And the fact that Fox is a Crane is part of the reason why we're giving the baby up for adoption. You see, Alistair Crane is a racist. He'd only torture a mixed-race baby being brought up as a Crane, so once my baby is put up for adoption, there'll be no reason for us to try to get him back.
Eve: Whitney. Oh, god, tell me you are not giving up your baby for adoption.
Sheridan: First give me Marty, and then we'll talk.
Alistair: I don't like your tone.
Sheridan: Damn it, Father, just give me Marty!
Alistair: My goodness, girl. Using profanity in front of a child. Oh. You know, you're setting such a terrible example. I should call the child protective agency because obviously you can't take care of him.
Sheridan: That is such a lie.
Alistair: "Such a lie." Then how do you explain me finding this child wandering around in the park just now?
Sheridan: You are such a liar! Marty was strapped into his stroller right outside the cottage when you just came by and took him!
Alistair: Oh, now, did I?
Sheridan: Luis found one of your cigar butts.
Alistair: Oh. I'm a kidnapper and now a litterbug, too. I mean, these accusations, Sheridan, cut me to the quick.
Sheridan: I will take Marty from you if I have to.
Alistair: No. Listen to me, Sheridan. I'm trying to teach you a lesson. You left Luis' son all alone, and then he disappeared without a trace. Now, something could've happened to him. I mean, something -- he could've been hurt, or something even worse. Now, you wouldn't want that to happen, now, would you?
Sheridan: No. Of course not.
Alistair: Then you can understand why I don't want anyone going through the Crane archives, searching -- I mean, someone like Luis, Marty's father.
Sheridan: My god, you've been spying on us.
Alistair: Just don't let your Irish Latino lover restart the crusade to bring me down because if he does, Sheridan, there's going to be a price to pay.
Alistair: And we both know what that price could be. Here.
Sheridan: Hi, sweetheart. It's ok.
Sheridan: Shh. Ok.
Pilar: Theresa. Oh, mija! Oh, my god, when did you start walking again?
Theresa: When Whitney went into labor.
Ethan: Right here, as a matter of fact.
Theresa: Yeah. Yeah. Dr. Russell -- she needed her medical bag, and before I knew it, I was walking to get it.
Paloma: Foe un Milagros.
Pilar: Our prayers were answered.
Theresa: Yeah, and Dr. Russell -- she has me on this new drug that's helping the swelling around my spinal cord go down, so I should be my old self before long.
Pilar: Oh, good. Wonderful.
Theresa: Yeah. I just -- I mean, what's going on here? You know, why is Papa talking about us being a family again?
Pilar: Your father and I decided that it was time for him to live here at home with us.
Theresa: Wait a minute, you guys are --
Martin: I'm sleeping in a separate room while your mother and I try to work at getting back together.
Pilar: Yes, and we've -- we've asked Paloma to move back home with us, as well.
Paloma: And I'm going to. For Papa.
Theresa: Oh, you're going to waltz back in here and you're going to be a husband to Mama, a father to all of us after you deserted us all those years ago? Is that what you're telling me?
Pilar: Theresa, por favor, don't speak to your father that way, ok? He's -- he's trying to make amends for what he did, and we all need to practice our faith and try to forgive your father. Ok, we should allow him to live here with us and be part of our family again.
Theresa: Maybe you can forgive Papa for what he's done, Mama, but I cannot.
Ethan: Theresa, hey, come here for a second. Look at me. What is wrong with you? What is wrong with you? How many times have you asked me for a second chance, a third chance, a fourth chance?
Theresa: That's different.
Ethan: It's not different. Theresa, I mean, if you expect people to forgive all the outrageous things that you do, maybe it's only right to give your dad a chance, just a chance to prove himself.
Ethan: Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I got to go. Something urgent has come up. But, listen, I will call you. I will call you and make sure you're ok. And do what Dr. Russell said -- take it easy, ok?
Ethan: Excuse me.
Martin: Paloma is open to giving your mother a second chance. Won't you do the same for me?
Ethan: I thought Fox had a different cell number. My blackberry said it was from him. Maybe he had to switch phones when he found out where Alistair was keeping Gwen and Jane.
Ethan: Fox, is that you?
Alistair: Would you care to try again?
Ethan: Alistair? Alistair, what have you done with Fox?
Alistair: My, my, the conclusions people jump to. I haven't done anything with your half brother. In fact, I don't even know where Foxworth is.
Ethan: Then why did you leave this number for me to call, pretending it was him?
Alistair: I just wanted you to know that Foxworth is going to be incommunicado from now on. So will Gwen and Jane.
Ethan: What? What have you done with them?
Alistair: Why, it doesn't matter. Just rest assured that you'll never see them again.
Ethan: Oh, god.
Alistair: Well, I knew you'd be happy to hear that.
Ethan: Happy? Why -- what, are you crazy?
Alistair: No, but Gwen still is. I thought you'd be pleased and thankful for the favor I'm giving you.
Alistair: Well, yes. I mean, I'm telling you that you'll never have to see your wife again. You don't have to make a choice between Gwen and Theresa. I've already made the decision for you. So congratulations, Ethan. You and Theresa are going to make a lovely couple.
Whitney: Mother, will you stay out of this? I've already signed the adoption papers. Mr. Newton and Mrs. Wellesley were just on their way out to do the final paperwork, right?
Eve: What about Fox?
Whitney: Look, I have Fox's power of attorney, Mother. I got it before he left in case I gave birth before he got back.
Eve: No, you tricked Fox.
Whitney: No, I didn't trick Fox. Why don't you ask Ethan and Theresa if you don't believe me?
George: I'm afraid we may have to speak to Ethan and Theresa.
Whitney: What? Why?
Harriet: We can't be party to trickery involving a power of attorney.
Whitney: No, there was no trickery in getting Fox's power of attorney. That's his notarized signature right there. And if my mother wouldn't have barged in like she did, we'd have been done with this whole thing by now, wouldn't we?
Eve: I'm trying to keep you from making some tragic mistake!
Whitney: Excuse me. I have Fox's power of attorney. I can sign for him, so I'm going to sign his name right here. There -- it's all done and it's legal, and please put my baby in a nice home with wonderful parents. Please? And, Mom, will you just take a hike, please?
Eve: Whitney, Chad is in the NICU. Please talk to him before you go any further with this.
Whitney: I don't want to talk to Chad, Mama.
George: Excuse me, who is Chad?
Harriet: And what does he have to do with you and your baby?
Luis: Sheridan. Marty. Hey. Babe, I told you I didn't want you leaving the cottage. You did it anyway. I mean, I'm glad you found him, but --
Sam: Well, at least there was no harm done to Sheridan or Marty.
Luis: Yeah, well, this time.
Sam: I'll call off the search.
Luis: Sam, thanks.
Sheridan: Yes, thank you, Sam, for all your help.
Sam: You're welcome. Look, after what happened to Jessica and Paloma, Harmony doesn't need any more kids at risk.
Luis: Is Jessica doing ok?
Sam: Not really. But I'll fill you in more at the station.
Sam: Ok, I'll see you later. Sheridan, I'll see you.
Luis: I can't believe you put yourself in harm's way to go look for Marty.
Sheridan: I'm sorry, but I just couldn't sit by and do nothing.
Sheridan: I had to go find your little boy.
Luis: Where'd you find him?
Sheridan: At the park, with --
Marty: Mommy, mommy.
Sheridan: With my father.
Luis: Oh, my god. I knew it. I'll tell you something, I'm going to -- I'm going to stop at nothing to bring that man to his knees if it's the last thing that I do.
Sheridan: No, Luis, I want you to leave my father alone.
Luis: Sheridan, what did your father do to you? What do you mean you want me to leave Alistair alone?
Sheridan: It's the only way, Luis, all right? My father made it very clear that he was either going to hurt or kill Marty if you try to bring him down.
Luis: Come on, Sheridan. We've never given in to Alistair's threats. We're certainly not going to start now.
Sheridan: This isn't about us, Luis, ok? This is about Marty. I don't care what my father has ever done to us or anyone else. Even though he might have been a part of my kidnapping and having my baby taken away, all I care about right now is Marty's safety. And if that means you giving up on getting my father, then so be it!
Luis: No. Sheridan, if we give in to your father, he's just going to hurt more people.
Sheridan: Marty is --
Luis: My father and your mother gave in to him. Look what happened to them. How many lives has that man ruined?
Sheridan: A lot.
Luis: Then we have to learn from that, ok?
Sheridan: You can't risk your son's life just to even a score, so please leave my father alone.
Luis: Sheridan --
Sheridan: I mean it! Luis, you've got to back off. Stop trying to get my father.
Luis: It's all my damn father's fault. If he'd have stood up to your father years ago, we wouldn't even be trying to take him on right now.
Sheridan: I don't want you taking my father on anymore. Please, I just want Marty to be safe.
Luis: All right. I don't want to argue with you, but I think you're wrong.
Sheridan: I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Luis: All right. Well, at least Marty's safe for now. There's an officer standing by outside. I'm going to take a walk, get some fresh air. You want to come?
Sheridan: No, thank you. I'd rather just stay here with Marty.
Luis: All right. I won't be long.
Luis: Damn Papa for being a coward. It's all his fault that Alistair is making these threats.
Fox: Whoa, whoa. Where are you going? Look around you, Gwen. There are security cameras everywhere, probably with audio. Which means that Alistair and all of his goons -- they can see and hear every single move that you make. There's no way to escape. We're prisoners here, ladies. All right, we might as well just be grateful that we have satellite TV, we have gourmet food, and we have designer clothes. We have pretty much anything that we could ever ask for, except our freedom, of course. Learn to live with it and enjoy it.
Gwen: Absolutely not. I hate Alistair for keeping us here.
Katherine: Gwen, he's right. Alistair can probably hear everything we're saying.
Gwen: You know, I really don't care, ok? And you're just as bad as he is!
Gwen: You know, Ethan used to say you were nothing but a spoiled playboy, and I believed him. And then I saw you with Whitney and how excited you were to be a father, and then last night when you came here to try and save us, you were nothing like the old Fox. But then all of a sudden this morning you're back to your old ways. You're acting like a Crane through and through.
Fox: We're stuck here, Gwen. We're stuck here. There's no way out. What do you want me to do, huh?
Gwen: Boy, Alistair has nothing on you, does he, huh?
Ethan: You listen to me, Alistair. You cannot decide my future for me. I'm not a Crane anymore. My choice between Gwen and Theresa is just that. It's mine.
Alistair: Oh, not anymore. Your future lies with Theresa because you're never going to see Gwen again.
Ethan: Alistair? Alistair! Damn it. He's got Fox, Gwen, Katherine, and Jane all under his thumb. How am I ever going to get Gwen and Jane back now?
Ethan's voice: Theresa, I mean, if you expect people to forgive all the outrageous things that you do, maybe it's only right to give your dad a chance, just a chance to prove himself.
Theresa: All right, Papa. I'll work on trying to forgive you.
Martin: That's all I'm asking for is for you to give me a chance.
Pilar: That's all I want, too, is a chance.
Martin: Let's go get your things so you can move in right away.
Luis: What the hell are you doing here?
Pilar: Luis, no empieza con tu padre. Ok? He's here to help this family heal.
Luis: Heal? He's the reason that we were hurt in the first place.
Pilar: Luis, por favor. Your father is -- well, he's living here, in his own room. Paloma is going to be moving in, as well. She's agreed to give me a second chance, and Theresa has agreed to do the same with your father. Now, we are all -- please, please. We are all going to try to be a real family again, and I want that to include you.
Whitney: Chad is my half brother, but he has nothing to do with my baby. No, nothing at all.
George: Something about this doesn't feel right.
Whitney: You know what? And I have to apologize for that because that's the tension between me and my mother that you're feeling. She has a hard time minding her own business. But that doesn't mean you can refuse my adoption because everything is signed, sealed, and it's completely legal.
Harriet: We just hate to see family members at odds.
Whitney: Look, trust me, I'm sure whatever family you put my baby with will be less dysfunctional than mine. I mean, surely you've heard about my mother's lurid past and her upcoming trial for three attempted murders?
Harriet: Yes, well, we can assure you that your baby will be placed in a fine home.
Whitney: Thank you.
George: One last thing, Miss Russell. We always keep both parents' medical records on file just in case, so we'll need both yours and Mr. Crane's.
Whitney: Ok, that's no problem. I can provide you with those.
George: Thank you.
Harriet: Remember, none of this is official for 72 hours, so if you change your mind or the father changes his, the adoption can be reversed.
Whitney: Oh, well, trust me, that's not going to happen here.
Eve: Oh, god, Whitney. What have you done?
Chad: Ethan must be right. I feel a connection to Whitney's baby because when I look at him, I see everything we can't have. A future, a family, a life. Whitney may be my sister, but I still love her. And I love that baby just like he was my own son.
Eve: I can't believe this, that you're just going to give up your own child?
Whitney: What else am I going to do, Mom? This is the right thing. This is the only thing I can do. Now, look, I just have to hope Fox doesn't get back before the 72 hours are up and the adoption is final, that's all.
Eve: You can't do this. You cannot just give up your own baby!
Whitney: I'm doing what's best for my baby, Mom!
