Sheridan: Color.

Marty: Color.

Sheridan: Yeah.

Marty: Hey.

Sheridan: Come here.

Luis: You two are so natural together.

Sheridan: Oh, Luis, I love this. I love having him here with us. This is -- this is heaven to me.

Luis: I know it is. You want me to put him to bed?

Sheridan: No, not just yet. I want to spend a little more time with him.

Luis: All right. As long as you want.

Sheridan: Thank you. Yeah. Ok. Maybe we'll color the table, too.

[Marty talks]

Luis: It should have been our child. I'm going to find out who robbed us of our baby. If I find out it was Alistair, I'll nail him. I'll stop at nothing to bring down anyone who helped him.

Beth: Do you know how awesome this is? With Alistair's help, Sheridan is as good as dead.

Mrs. Wallace: What? What did you say?

Beth: I said I am in fat city. Alistair Crane's going to help me get rid of his daughter, that blond pain in my neck, Sheridan. Well, aren't you going to tell me what a wicked daughter I am? What's wrong with you? Ah, who cares? You know this couldn't be better. Sheridan's going to be dead, and then Marty and Luis and I are going to be a happy family. No one will ever know that Marty is really Sheridan's son. See, Mother? You told me it wouldn't work out. As usual, you were wrong.

Mrs. Wallace: I slept with Alistair all those years ago. And exactly nine months later, Beth was born. Oh, angels have mercy. No wonder Beth is so evil. Alistair is her father. And Beth is truly her father's daughter.

Beth: What about my father?

Theresa: You're doing the right thing.

Whitney: I thought I was, but now I'm not so sure.

Theresa: Just remember, Whitney, this is about your baby. Chad needs to know that he's the father of your child, not Fox.

Whitney: Right, and I guess I don't really have a choice, you know, because my baby's so sick. And my mother said if the doctor knows the truth, that Chad is my half brother, they can help him, right?

Theresa: I know they can, yes.

Whitney: Ok.

Theresa: I know this is hard for you, but you're doing the right thing. You're giving your little baby a chance at life.

Whitney: But I have to tell Chad first, you know, because I can't tell the doctors until I tell Chad, because he deserves to know. He deserves to know first. Ok. I don't think I can do this, Theresa.

Theresa: Yes, you can. Yes, you can. You're stronger than you think.

Whitney: But what is this going to do to Chad? I mean, to know that he got his own half sister pregnant?

Theresa: Whitney, he didn't know that you were his sister when you guys made love, ok? There's no reason for either one of you to feel guilty.

Whitney: But I do. I mean, I never wanted Chad to have to deal with this. That's why I carried the burden for both of us all this time.

Chad: You know, what do you think has got that baby so sick?

Ethan: He's tiny, just like Theresa's and mine was. But Jane was premature, but I don't know. It could have the same problems -- the underdeveloped lungs.

Chad: Yeah. No, something else is wrong with Whitney's baby. You know, I'm just wondering if it's so sick because of all the stress she's been under.

Whitney: The baby is sick because Chad and I are related.

Theresa: We don't know that.

Whitney: No, I do. How am I going to tell him this?

Theresa: You just do it, Whitney. You have to.

Chad: Whitney, hey. What are you -- should you be out of bed so soon after having a baby?

Whitney: I'm ok.

Chad: Ok. I guess you want to see your baby, huh?

Theresa: You know what? I think it's too painful, you know, for Whitney to see him right now.

Chad: Oh. Yeah. I can see how that would be. You know, the baby's so small and weak looking.

Whitney: Chad, I need to talk to you.

Theresa: Ethan, you want some coffee?

Ethan: Yeah, let's go.

Chad: Well, Whitney, you all right?

Whitney: No -- I mean, physically, yeah, I'm fine. We really need to talk.

Chad: Ok. About what?

Whitney: About a lot of things.

Gwen: This is insane.

Guard: I'll be right outside the gate with the other guard. Don't try anything stupid.

Katherine: I'm so sorry, Gwen.

Gwen: Why do we have to stay here? This makes no sense.

Katherine: Nothing Alistair does makes sense to people like us -- people with hearts, people with feelings. Everything he does is part of this bigger plan to get what he wants. It's just how Alistair is made.

Gwen: Well, what could he possibly want from me?

Katherine: I don't know. But unfortunately, I think we're going to find out.

[Dog barks]

Guard: Come down or I'll shoot!

Fox: All right. don't shoot. I'm coming down.

Sheridan: There you go, Marty. Try to go to sleep now, ok?

Luis: Oh, I love watching you with Marty. You are going to be the most wonderful mother when we have another child.

Sheridan: I am so happy that he is here with us, Luis. So happy.

Luis: I know. I can tell. And you feel so different in my arms, so relaxed.

Sheridan: It's because I finally have my child back. My son is finally with me.

Luis: What? Sheridan?

Theresa: You know, I still don't understand why Fox had to leave at a time like this.

Ethan: Well, I mean, he didn't know that Whitney would deliver early.

Theresa: Yeah, but he should have stayed here. You know, I mean, what business is so important that he had to leave?

Ethan: Well, I know he wouldn't have gone unless it was something extremely urgent.

Theresa: You're right. Fox is a wonderful man. He's certainly been there for me. There were times when I didn't know what I would have done without him.

Ethan: Theresa -- I know that you and Fox had a relationship a little while ago. I mean, I was just wondering if you still had feelings for him.

Chad: What is it, Whitney? You said you needed to talk to me.

Whitney: Yeah. We need to talk, and it's about the baby.

Chad: You must be so worried.

Whitney: Well -- you know, the birth of a child is supposed to be a joyous event, something that brings happiness to everyone, especially the parents.

Chad: Absolutely.

Whitney: But the birth of my son wasn't joyous, you know. It felt more like a tragedy.

Chad: A tragedy? Whitney, why would you say something like that?

Whitney: Because I'm afraid. I'm afraid that the birth of my child is going to bring me and my baby's father nothing but heartache. Our lives are never going to be the same. People are going to look down on us, they'll look down on our child.

Chad: Whitney, why would you say something like that? Well, is it because the father's white?

Whitney: No, that's not what I mean. Look, Chad, I just want you to know that I never really meant to bring pain on anyone. Just believe me when I say that, ok?

Chad: Honey, honey, hey, what are you trying to say?

Whitney: Look, I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I really made a mess of things. Chad, my baby --

Chad: Shh, shh. Hey, Whitney, you don't have to say anything else, ok? All right? I understand. I know what you're going through.

Whitney: What? You do?

Chad: Yes, I understand. Whitney, I should have thought about it sooner. I know what's got you so upset. I know the truth.

Beth: Well? You said something about my father. What about him?

Mrs. Wallace: Well -- just saying that as evil as you are you must take after him, because you sure as heck don't take after me.

Beth: Thank you. You know, that's just the nicest thing you've ever said to me, Mother.

Mrs. Wallace: Bethie, make all the jokes that you want, but I am not the psycho wacko running around trying to kill innocent people.

Beth: Who's joking? And since you were sleeping with half the male population in Harmony, you wouldn't have clue who my father is. You don't, right?

Mrs. Wallace: No, I don't. I'm just telling you that you wouldn't want to know him. That is, if I knew -- who he was, I mean.

Beth: You never even bothered to find out who he was, but maybe one day I will try to track him down.

Mrs. Wallace: No, Beth. No, you can't do that.

Beth: And why not? Huh? What are you afraid of? Is there something you're not telling me?

Luis: Sheridan, I don't want to upset you, but I thought that you were over this, thinking that Marty is our baby.

Sheridan: I am. But the feelings that I have towards Marty are still there, and I'm fighting them, of course. I'm trying to convince myself that it's impossible for Marty to be our son.

Luis: Sheridan, you know that it's impossible. Our baby was in the car with that kidnapper that went over the bridge.

Sheridan: We don't know that for sure because they never found a body.

Luis: Well, Sheridan, please, Marty is not our baby.

Sheridan: Look, I know. It's just that when I look into Marty's eyes I see my baby's eyes.

Luis: Sheridan, we've been over that before. You bonded with Marty because you were able to nurse him when Beth couldn't.

Sheridan: I know. But look, after the kidnappers took the baby away from me -- before they did, I memorized his face.

Luis: Sweetheart, babies change, ok? In fact, most babies don't look anything like they did when they were infants.

Sheridan: All right. I'm sorry. Look, it's just going to take time for my heart to accept the truth that Marty is not my child.

Luis: Ok. Look, I know that this is rough. But it's going to get easier over time, ok? And in the meantime, you can still love him.

Sheridan: I do love him.

Luis: I know. So do I. Are you ready for bed?

Sheridan: Soon. I just want to stay with him a little while longer.

Luis: Ok. Ok.

Sheridan: Thank you.

Sheridan: I know that you're my baby, Marty. I can't let anyone else know that I still feel this way. I just have to pretend that I have accepted that you're not my child. Otherwise, they won't let me see you anymore. And I would just die if I couldn't spend any more time with you, sweetheart. So I'm just going to keep on pretending. But I know that you are my child. I know that you're my son.

Gwen: Well, what do you think he's planning on doing with us? And I know he was planning on keep you here, but why me and Ashley?

Katherine: I don't know.

Gwen: I mean, Katherine, I can't stay here forever. I can't raise my daughter here.

Katherine: Look, I don't know if this makes it any easier for you, but one thing I know is that Alistair will make sure that you and Jane never --

Gwen: Oh, my god! Katherine, her name is Ashley! You know her name is Ashley! Theresa named her Jane! Theresa is not her mother! I am her mother! Her name is Ashley, all right?

Katherine: All right, all right, I'm sorry. What I was trying to tell you is that I know that Alistair will make sure that you and Ashley have everything you want -- the best tutors, the best clothes. You'll want for nothing.

Gwen: But we're being held here against our will. We're not going to have any friends. We're not going to be able to go anywhere. We're going to be completely trapped here. Our lives are going to be empty. I can't raise my daughter here, Katherine. I have to get out of here.

Katherine: Gwen, I'm sorry, but it's not going to do you any good to get this upset. What we have to face is that until Alistair dies we may never be free again.

Fox: All right. All right, I'm in. That was close. All right. Now I got to get Theresa's baby, Gwen, my grandmother, and get the hell out of here.

[Sheridan laughs]

Sheridan: What is all this?

Luis: I thought we should celebrate.

Sheridan: And what are we celebrating?

Luis: Nothing special. Just the fact that we're finally together.

Sheridan: And I am with the two men that I love most in the world, you and Marty.

Luis: Life is good.

Sheridan: It's very good.

Luis: It's going to be a whole lot better once we finally get married.

Sheridan: God, I can't wait.

Luis: Neither can I. And I'm going to arrange it as soon as possible. And we're going to have the future we've always dreamed of.

Sheridan: I want that, Luis. I love you so much.

Luis: I love you, too. You're everything to me.

Whitney: Then you really do understand? You know why I didn't tell you before?

Chad: Of course I understand. Whitney, you must be in so much pain. I know if Fox was here, you'd turn to him for support.

Whitney: Fox?

Chad: So it means a lot that you turned to me. You know, especially after I told you that I wanted us to live together as brother and sister. I know -- I know that upset a lot of people.

Whitney: Wait -- no, Chad --

Chad: No, and I know it's a crazy idea. I just -- you know, I thought we still could share our dreams, if nothing else. Yeah, but you know what? We shouldn't talk about this right now. You're upset enough as it is.

Whitney: Wait, Chad --

Chad: And I know you feel responsible for your baby being so sick, but it's not your fault, ok? No one's going to look down on you or think you did anything bad.

Whitney: Chad, you don't understand what I'm saying.

Chad: Yes, I do. Whitney, you wanted everything to be perfect, right? But it's not. I mean, your baby's sick, and Fox isn't here. It's only natural that you feel scared and alone.

Whitney: Oh, Chad.

Chad: You don't have to be. Ok? You don't have to be. Fox will be back soon. Those doctors in there -- I'm sure they're going to do whatever they can for that baby, ok? And in the meantime, I'm here. You know, I'm not -- I'm not the baby's father. I know that. But I care about him. And I care about you, so much.

Theresa: What did you just ask me?

Ethan: I was just wondering, you know, if you still had feelings for Fox.

Theresa: You know, he's very special to me. He always will be.

Ethan: Yeah. I mean, I know he's with Whitney now. But I was just wondering if there were any regrets.

Theresa: That we didn't stay together?

Ethan: Yeah.

Theresa: No. No, see, Fox and I never loved each other that way. We always had someone else in our hearts. Fox was in love with Whitney, and I've always had the same person in my heart. No matter what I do, no matter how hard I try, I can't change the way I feel, Ethan, you know? I'll always have you in my heart.

Ethan: Theresa, come on.

Theresa: I love you. I'll always love you.

Gwen: I'm not going to accept this, Katherine, no way.

Katherine: I'm afraid you have no choice, Gwen. I know Alistair. If he intends to keep us here, he will.

Gwen: Well, there has got to be someone out there looking for us, right?

Katherine: No one knows where we are. Alistair went to great lengths to make us disappear.

Gwen: My god, this is a nightmare. There's got to be someone who can help us. Fox? Thank god.

Beth: What are you hiding from me, Mother? Huh? What? Why don't you want me to track down my father? You -- you act like you know who he is.

Mrs. Wallace: No. I told you I don't.

Beth: Then why are you acting weird? What are you keeping from me?

Mrs. Wallace: Nothing. No, I'm not keeping anything from you. I just -- I just think you're wasting your time trying to track down your father, because I think he's long gone from here.

Beth: I'm sure he couldn't wait to get away from you.

Mrs. Wallace: Bethie, why do you say such mean things to me?

Beth: Me? God, you say horrible things to me all the time, Mother!

Mrs. Wallace: Bethie, it's because you do horrible things all the time.

Beth: Well, maybe if I had a normal childhood, I wouldn't do -- if I had a father!

Mrs. Wallace: All right, all right, ok. All right, there were a lot of men back then. It's just I never -- I never narrowed it down -- till now.

Beth: Well, all I know is whoever he was, he had to be better than you, because I do have good qualities. And they certainly didn't come from you. They had to come from my father, whoever he is.

Mrs. Wallace: Yeah, you're right. You did probably get all his personality traits, and they're all evil.

Sheridan: Hmm. This has been the most wonderful night. Being here with you, having Marty here with us -- this is heaven.

Luis: Seeing you smile again is heaven.

[Marty cries]

Luis: That's Marty. I'll go.

Sheridan: No, no, no, I'll go, really.

Sheridan: Oh, what's the matter, Marty? Did you have a nightmare? Oh, come here. I'm so sorry. Oh, yeah. It's ok. I'm here now. Everything's going to be all right. There's no reason for you to be afraid. I'm here, and I'm not ever going away. Not ever.

Ethan: Theresa, we talked about this.

Theresa: I love you. And I know you love me.

Ethan: I don't want to hurt you at all.

Theresa: Then don't.

Ethan: I just --

Theresa: Don't tell me that you love me and that you're going to stay married to Gwen.

Ethan: Theresa, I took -- I took vows in a church. I did.

Theresa: You don't have to be held to those vows if Gwen doesn't come back.

Ethan: She will come back.

Theresa: We don't know that for sure. All we know is that Gwen is gone and she took off with our daughter, our little girl. I miss her. And I keep wondering if I'm ever going to see her again.

Ethan: Don't -- don't you say that. It's -- we're going to find her.

Theresa: I hope you're right. But I think about it. It could be years before I ever see her again. Which means it could be years before you see Gwen again.

Ethan: No, no, no, no, no. I don't believe that.

Theresa: Look, Ethan, I know that she's your wife, but how long are you prepared to wait for her? Are you going to live without love? Are you going to deny yourself love from someone who loves you so much while you wait for the woman who took off with our child?

Gwen: Fox, how did you get in here? Is Ethan with you?

Katherine: Oh, dear god.

Gwen: What did you do to him? Would you let him go?

Guard: He's not going anywhere. Nobody's going anywhere.

Fox: I'm sorry, Grandmother. I'm sorry, Gwen.

Guard: You can just cool your jets with the ladies till we find out what to do to you.

Gwen: Do you guys even know who this is? This is Alistair's grandson.

Guard: Like that would make a difference?

Second guard: You ought to know when someone gets in Mrs.. Crane's way, they get taken care of, family or not.

First guard: You're all going to be held here until we get further instructions.

Second guard: We got guards posted outside the gates, so don't try anything. There's no way out.

Gwen: We are never going to get out of here.

Fox: Gwen, don't say that, all right? Now, listen, I came here to get the two of you out of here, and that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Gwen: But how?

Katherine: You were very, very brave to come here, Fox. You came to take Jane back, didn't you?

Fox: Yeah.

Gwen: So how are you supposed to help us when you are stuck here now, too?

Fox: Well, maybe for now, you know, but -- ladies, come on. There's got to be another way out of here, right? I'm not giving up.

Katherine: I really appreciate your trying to help, Fox. I want you to keep trying to help Gwen and the baby, if you can, but I'm going to be staying here.

Fox: Why?

Katherine: Because -- well, I left Harmony because I wanted Sheridan and Luis to come back together, and I still want Martin to reunite with his family, so I can't go back.

Fox: Well, then go somewhere else. You don't have to stay here and be Alistair's prisoner.

Katherine: I know, I -- but I can't go anywhere. He'll track me down. And I'm afraid of what he'll do to punish you -- and he will. I'll be all right. I really will. I promise.

Gwen: It's a moot point anyway. There's no way out of here. There's armed guards outside.

Fox: No, come on. Look, there's got to be another way, all right? Now, listen, I'm going to get us all out of here, ok?

Ethan: Theresa, we shouldn't even be talking about this.

Theresa: I -- I don't want to push you, ok? I just -- I think that you should just think about what you're going to do. I mean, it could be years before Gwen comes back.

Ethan: And she'll still be my wife.

Theresa: She left you. I understand she found out that Jane wasn't hers, and she completely lost it. But the fact is she did leave you. And that's something I could never do under any circumstances. I could never leave the man that I love. Do you love Gwen?

Ethan: Yes, I do.

Theresa: Do you love me? How do you feel about me, Ethan? Is there hope for us? Do we have a future?

Whitney: Oh.

Chad: Whitney, I know you wish Fox was here with the baby being so sick. But Ethan told me why he left. You asked him to go find Theresa's baby for her.

Whitney: It's more important that he's doing that than being here for me. I mean, Theresa's heartbroken, and I just hope he can find Jane.

Chad: Yeah. I hope so, too. You know, Whitney, I know I can't take Fox's place. But I just want to let you know that I love that baby. He's my flesh and blood, too.

Whitney: Your flesh and blood?

Chad: Yeah. He's my nephew.

Whitney: Oh, god.

Chad: It's ironic, too, I mean, that you're having a son. I mean, I've always wanted a son, because I always wanted to be the kind of father I never had growing up. You know, a good, loving father. But, I mean, you know that. We used to talk about that, remember? You know, before --

Whitney: That's what I need to talk to you about.

Chad: No, I know I shouldn't even think about it. Whitney, I got to tell you, when I first saw that baby, I couldn't help fantasizing that he was yours and mine. And I made myself believe that nothing had changed and that you and I were still together and that beautiful baby was ours.

Whitney's voice: Tell him, Whitney. You got to tell him now.

Chad: I kept thinking about how great it would be to see our little man grow up, you know? Me teaching him how to play football and baseball and taking him to the games, teaching him music. Then I realized -- I realized I had to let that dream go. I'm not the baby's father. Fox is. I'm his uncle.

Whitney: I -- I need to let you know that --

Chad: You know, we're lucky, Whitney. We are.

Whitney: Lucky?

Chad: That you didn't get pregnant when we were together. You know, god was really looking out for us.

Beth: I don't know why I didn't see it before. It's all so clear.

Mrs. Wallace: What is?

Beth: I must take after my father. I'm nothing like you.

Mrs. Wallace: It's true. I do think you have a lot of his qualities -- his psychotic behavior, his lack of heart, and his evil, murdering ways.

Beth: What are you muttering about?

Mrs. Wallace: That you are cut from the same cloth as your father.

Beth: How would you know that if you don't know who he is?

Mrs. Wallace: Well, come on. Like you said, you know, you're nothing like me, so you must take after your father, right?

Beth: Yeah, well, I guess I got a lucky break. Anyway, I got to go to bed. I got a big day tomorrow. I have a murder to commit.

Mrs. Wallace: No, no, no, no, Bethie, no, no, no. Please, please. Please, I'm begging you. Please, just stop. Stop now, ok? Look, every time you've tried to kill Sheridan, it hasn't worked, so just stop it now. Please, just stop.

Beth: Oh, gosh. I have Alistair to help me this time, so there's no way I can fail. Anyway, good night, Mother.

Mrs. Wallace: I have said this over and over, and now I am sure she is the devil's spawn. God -- Alistair is her father.

Sheridan: Hey, kiddo.

Luis: Yeah. Well, who's this?

Sheridan: Somebody who needs a kiss from his daddy.

Luis: Oh, gladly. Come here, champ.

Sheridan: Oh, poor thing. He had a bad dream. But he's ok now. Aren't you? Yes. You know, Luis, if it's all right with you, I was thinking that maybe we could, you know, let him stay in here with us tonight, just in case he has another bad dream.

Luis: You mean sleep here with us?

Sheridan: Well, I know that we're not supposed to --

Luis: Who says we're not supposed to? Oh, he's really not used to us yet. Besides that, he had a little nightmare. Hmm?

Sheridan: Yes. It's no wonder I love you. I'm just going to walk with him for a minute, ok?

Luis: All right. I love you.

Sheridan: Love you.

Luis: Good night.

Sheridan: Good night. Come on, big guy. don't worry, honey. Mommy's here. And Mommy will always be here.

[Marty talks]

Sheridan: Yes, because I am your mommy, Marty. I am.

Chad: I mean, you have to admit it, Whitney. God was really looking out for us. I mean, that baby in there could have been ours. I know you must have thought about it, too.

Whitney: Yeah.

Chad: What a tragedy that would have been. I just hate to think of what that baby would have gone through. So, you know, even if life is throwing us a bum rap, finding out we're brother and sister, at least we didn't have that on our head.

Whitney: God --

Chad: Whitney -- hey, what is it? Whitney, I'm sorry. Did I say something to upset you?

Whitney: No, no. I just -- I can't keep this inside any longer.

Chad: All right, what are you keeping inside, Whitney? Tell me, Whitney. You can talk to me.

Whitney: Chad, I have to tell you something. Ok? I'm going to tell you everything.

Theresa: I know you have feelings for me. So what are you going to do about them? What are you going to do about your feelings for Gwen?

Ethan: I need to give this some time, that's all. I just need time to -- to figure things out. I mean, can you give me that? Can you give me some time?

Theresa: Yes. I think I can.

Ethan: I think you can, too. You were always the one that believes in fate, right? Well, let's see what fate has in store for us, ok?

Theresa: Ok.

Theresa: I know what fate has in store for us. We're going to be together.

Katherine: I feel terrible that you've been pulled into this, Fox. I feel responsible.

Fox: This is not your fault.

Gwen: Yeah, he's right. I mean, I wanted to take my daughter out of the country, I didn't know that you were on the plane, and when I found out you were on the plane, I thought that would be a perfect way to escape with my daughter.

Fox: This is no one's fault but Alistair's.

Fox: You hear that? It sounds hollow.

Katherine: I can hear it.

Gwen: Well, what does it mean?

Fox: Well, I don't know what it means, but I guess there could be a room behind this panel or a tunnel or a passageway.

Katherine: Knowing Alistair, I wouldn't be surprised.

Fox: Let's see if we can get this thing to open.

[Katherine and Gwen gasp]

Gwen: Oh!

Katherine: Is it a passageway?

Fox: I don't know. It could be.

Gwen: Fox? Oh, my god!

Katherine: Oh, my god! Oh, my god.

Gwen: Oh, my god. Oh, my god. He's dead?

Katherine: I don't know.

Gwen: Fox? Fox!

On the Next Passions:

Alistair: How would you like to go for a little drive?

Sheridan: He was in his stroller, and when I came back out, he's gone! Oh, my god!

Fox: Fox?

Katherine: He is dead.

Chad: You have proven yourself an unfit mother. I am not letting my son be raised by a hypocrite and a liar.
