Charity: Miguel, I can't -- I can't live without you. You're right, I can't.
Kay: Tabitha, I can't believe this. Miguel got Charity to change her mind. Now she's not leaving Harmony. She's staying here to be with him.
Tabitha: Bats and rats! Now we're back to bloody square one!
Kay: No, Tabitha, we have to do something. Something drastic, something guaranteed to get Charity out of Harmony forever.
Sheridan: No. No.
Luis: Sheridan. Sheridan, it's ok. Come on, you were just dreaming.
Sheridan: Was I, Luis? Or was I remembering that night from my childhood? God, it was awful. It seemed so real.
[ Flashback to Sheridan as a child. Sheridan screams. End flashback.]
Luis: Hey, hey. Shh, stop -- Sheridan, come on. Just try not to think about it, ok?
Sheridan: What if I really did kill someone that night?
Luis: Well, Sheridan, back when Eve hypnotized you, she said that you didn't. The whole business about bloody hands and seeing dead bodies was just all guilt that your father put on you for your mother's death.
Sheridan: I know what Eve said, and I believed her up until now. What if she's wrong? What if that night really did happen?
Katherine: That night really showed Alistair's true colors.
Martin: It changed everything for both of us.
Katherine: We were forced to alter our looks. And all because you tried to stop Alistair from raping me again.
Martin: And he struck back.
[Flashback to the night Martin confronted Alistair.]
Katherine: Alistair, leave him alone! Let him go! Let him go!
Alistair: Stay out of this, Katherine!
Martin: Mrs. Crane! [Alistair hits Katherine.]
Martin: Mrs. Crane -- [Katherine groans]
Martin: Mrs. Crane --
Katherine: Oh, Martin --
martin: Yes. Are you all right?
Katherine: I'm all right. Oh, please -- please, I want you to go before Alistair comes after you again.
Martin: Shh, easy. Come with me and I'll get you someplace safe.
Martin: Come on, slowly --
Katherine: Oh --
Martin: Slowly -- there you go.
Katherine: Thank you.
Martin: There you go. All right?
Katherine: Please --
Martin: Come on, let's go.
Katherine: Thank you, Martin.
Martin: It's ok.
Martin: All right?
Martin: Ok, come on. Aagh!
Katherine: Oh! Oh! Alistair! Oh, my god! Martin! [Alistair, who had gone to summon security - punches Martin when Martin is not looking.]
Alistair: Better watch your back, Fitzgerald. Oh, my! Too late.
Katherine: I'm going to help! I'm going to call --
Alistair: The hell you will!
Katherine: No! Let me go!
Alistair: You bitch! You're more concerned about a damn employee than you ever were about me!
Katherine: I'm going to help him.
Alistair: Help him?
Alistair: No, Katherine, you're going to watch your would-be savior die!
Katherine: No! No!
Julian: God give you strength, Eve. You're going to need it. [He watches from outside Eve's house.]
T.C.: Honey, what's wrong?
Liz: Oh, Eve is just excited about my surprise guest and what she's going to say. Now, listen, she's just in the powder room. She'll be right out, but wait till you meet her, T.C. I guarantee the difference she'll make in your life will be astounding.
Irma: Whore! Trollop! Dime store floozy! Hooker! Tramp! Heathen! [Liz is remembering how Irma talks about Eve]
T.C.: Honey, how about if I get you some sherry? Liz, I'll get you a glass, too, because there's something Eve and I have to tell you.
Liz: Well, T.C., Whatever it is, it can wait. My surprise won't.
Eve: I'm your sister, Liz. Don't do this.
Liz: Half sister.
Eve: But your sister just the same.
Liz: You should have remembered that before you left me to be abused by your father.
Eve: But if I had thought he was capable of anything like that, I would have --
Liz: Woulda, shoulda, coulda, Eve, but you didn't! And it's payback time. Aunt Irma will meet T.C., and she will expose you as the lying slut that you are. And I will finally have my revenge.
Singer: I would hold the hand of the one who could lead me places; and kiss the lips of the one who could sing so sweet; and I, would fly on the wings of the bird, I knew, could take me highest. Breathe in, breathe out. You keep me alive; you are the fire burning inside of me. You are my passion for life.
Miguel: Why don't you go home and try to get some rest? I'd come with you, but I can't leave the hospital right now, not with my mom still being so weak after her seizure.
Charity: Ok. Well, send her my love, ok?
Miguel: I will. Come on, I'll walk you out.
Tabitha: Kay? Kay, what's going on?
Kay: Charity's leaving to go home, and Miguel's going to stay to be with his mom.
Tabitha: Now, this could work to our advantage.
Tabitha: Endora and I will take care of Charity. You do your utmost to make Miguel feel guilty about not being upfront and center with you. Don't worry. We will foul up the lives of these lovebirds if it's the last thing we do.
Sheridan: Oh, Luis, it's --
Luis: What is it?
Sheridan: It's -- it's not like I'm dreaming about that night, it's more like I'm reliving it.
[Flashback to her nightmare.]
Father, why is it so dark in here?
Sheridan: I have blood on my hands. I have blood on my hands from holding a bloody letter opener. Oh, my god.
Luis: Well, maybe you cut yourself with it.
Sheridan: No, Luis. There's a man that's lying on -- on the living room floor, and he's stabbed in the back with the letter opener. What if I did it? What if I murdered that poor man?
Luis: Sheridan, come on. Why would you do something like that?
Sheridan: I don't know, but why is this the first time I'm seeing how I got the blood on my hands?
Luis: Well, maybe you're just trying to make sense out of nonsense, ok?
Sheridan: Or maybe I'm remembering more of what really happened that night. My god, Luis, what is my imagination and what's true?
Luis: Well, I don't know, but I certainly know who does.
Luis: Alistair. I'm telling you, whenever something bad happens, something horrible that no one can explain, he's the one who's behind it.
[Flashback to the night that Martin and Katherine flee Harmony. Martin has been stabbed by Alistair.]
Martin: Mrs. Crane --
Martin: Tell my family that I love them.
Alistair: Look at your hero now, Katherine, dying a slow and agonizing death.
Alistair: Oh, yes, my dear. Yes. Martin's like a -- like a bull with arrows in his back. Struggle as he might, there's no way to save himself from a bloody end.
Katherine: Oh, Martin, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean for this to happen!
Alistair: You see the price to be paid for refusing me our marital bed?
Katherine: You're inhuman!
Alistair: And you're a sentimental fool! Letting the death of a mere employee get to you!
Katherine: Alistair, how can you be so cruel?
Alistair: Oh, you'll find out. In the meantime watch your hero take his dying breath.
Katherine: Oh, my god, Martin! Oh, no! Oh!
Liz: Are you ready to meet Eve's husband?
Irma: Eve? That slut! That whore! Wait till I tell that chump what a whore he married!
Liz: This is it, Eve. There is no escaping now. Your lie of a life is over.
Eve: T.C., now that Liz is gone, I want you to know that I never meant for the truth to come out this way.
T.C.: Honey, I know. Telling Liz about Antonio when she has company is just not a --
Eve: It's more complicated than that.
T.C.: Sweetheart, I know. Liz was in love with Antonio and they were very close, but I don't know how we're going to soften the blow of telling her that Antonio was killed tonight.
Eve's inner voice: I wish I could think of a way to soften the blow you'll feel when Aunt Irma exposes my past. But there isn't. This is the end of us, T.C. This is the end.
Luis: Hey, Sheridan, we're together now, ok, honey? That's all that matters.
Sheridan: How can I be happy if I'm being haunted by my past?
Luis: But Dr. Russell said that you imagined all that stuff when you were little. Ok? That Alistair had to blame someone for Katherine's death, so he blamed you.
Sheridan: What if Eve was wrong? I never remembered holding a bloody letter opener until now.
Luis: Even so, it doesn't mean --
Sheridan: What if it was not my imagination? What if that horrible night really did happen?
Katherine: That was such an awful, awful night, Martin.
Martin: It's still hard to believe it really happened.
Katherine: Oh, god. What Alistair did to you --
Martin: But you saved me, Katherine. You saved me.
[Flashback to the night the Katherine and Martin flee.]
Katherine: Oh, my god, you killed him! You killed Martin Fitzgerald!
Alistair: That's right, Katherine, I killed him. And do you know why? Because he dared to oppose me, and I destroy anyone who gets in my way. Remember that, my dear. Next time you defy me, Sheridan and Julian will be going to their mother's funeral!
T.C.: Sweetheart, I don't want to be rude to Liz's guest, but we have to tell her that Antonio is dead before she finds out about it on the TV.
Eve: Antonio. Oh, my god. Pilar. Finding out that her son died in an explosion -- that could set back her recovery. I need to call the hospital.
Eve: Yes, it's Dr. Russell. I wanted to check on Pilar Lopez Fitzgerald's condition.
Eve: Thank you. Oh, honey, it's worse than I anticipated. She suffered a setback. I'm going to get over to the hospital.
Eve: T.C., I -- never forget that I love you. And I love our daughters and the life that we built for ourselves with our own hard work. And I'm sorry about tonight. I am so terribly sorry.
T.C.: Honey, what's going on? Where is all this coming from?
Eve: My heart. Straight from my heart.
T.C.: I believe you, but I don't understand.
Eve: You will. You'll understand everything tonight.
Liz: Lock and load, Aunt Irma. It is time to blow Eve away. Surprise!
Miguel: Kay. What are you doing out of bed?
Kay: Maybe I went to the bathroom. Or maybe I went to the nursery to look at all the babies that I'll never be able to have again because I'm barren now.
Miguel: I was just worried about you, that's all.
Kay: Don't pretend like you care, Miguel. You ran out of here after Charity, and you forgot all about me.
Miguel: I didn't forget about you. I just didn't want Charity to leave Harmony.
Kay: So what happened? You convince her to stay?
Miguel: Well, Charity and I had a long talk, and she agreed not to leave.
Kay: I should have known.
Miguel: Look, Kay -- I mean, it's no secret that I love Charity.
Kay: No. No, it's not. You know, if Charity did decide to leave town, you'd leave with her, I know you would. You would bail on Maria and me, and you'd never look back.
Miguel: No, no, that's not true.
Kay: Please, Miguel. You know, you say you're all responsible, all your big talk about being there for me and your daughter, when really you're just like every other self-centered jerk running from responsibility.
Miguel: No, I'm not, Kay.
Kay: I see it in your eyes. You're going to abandon me for Charity.
Charity: I'm so tired of trying to decide what's right. I was so sure I should go, but Miguel's just as sure I should stay. I told him I would, but maybe -- maybe I should just leave town.
Tabitha: Yes. And the sooner, the better, dear.
Charity: Tabitha, what are you doing here?
Tabitha: I've come to help you pack. You need to get the hell out of Harmony tonight.
Katherine: You know, I only realized that Alistair had a temper after we were married. There were just little things that would set him off, things that I would just do differently from my sister, Rachel.
Martin: She died in that boating accident, right?
Katherine: Yeah. Rachel was Alistair's first love. I should have realized that I was never more than a substitute for her in Alistair's eyes. And after we were married for a while, it became really clear that I could never measure up to her. And over the years, he just got more and more angry towards me, as if I was some living reminder of what he'd lost. I tried to talk to him about the situation, to see it for what it was, but he couldn't -- no, he wouldn't accept it. And then after that, he started turning on me with a vengeance. I've never seen anger like that in a man, before or since. Even so, until that night you kept him from raping me, I never would have believed that Alistair was capable of murder, but he was. He tried to kill you, Martin. Alistair tried to kill you.
Katherine's inner voice: You murderer! You murdered Martin Fitzgerald!
Alistair: Come to the living room at the main house. There's a situation to be dealt with. [Calling security.] Let this be a lesson to you, Katherine. Cross me, and I'll kill you, too!
Man: You called us, Mr. Crane?
Alistair: Yes. Take Mrs. Crane up to her room, and then, stand by for further instructions.
Katherine: No! No, Alistair! Oh! No! No! No, let me -- no! He killed martin Fitzgerald! Pilar's children are going to grow up without a father!
Sheridan: Thank you.
Luis: Look, Sheridan, even eve said that all these memories that you have -- the blood on your hands, the body under the sheet, the coffin in the living room -- that was just all stuff you imagined because of a guilt trip that your father laid on you.
Sheridan: But Eve said that knowing that I imagined it all would make it go away.
Luis: Yeah, and it did.
Sheridan: Until now. What's going on, Luis? Why are the images of that night haunting me again, and why do they seem more real than ever?
Luis: You know, I know why. I know exactly why your mind is doing this to you.
Liz: T.C., you're here alone?
T.C.: Yeah, there was an emergency at the hospital with Pilar. And you know how dedicated my wife is to her patients.
Liz: No matter what time of day or night.
T.C.: Um -- Liz, about Pilar -- there -- there was a setback, and -- about something that happened, something that you and I need to talk about.
Liz: Just a minute, T.C. I want you to meet my guest.
Liz: T.C., This is Aunt Irma.
T.C.: Really? That's fantastic. Aunt Irma, it is such a pleasure to meet you. But we thought you were dead.
Irma: Don't rush me.
T.C.: Uh -- I mean, we're happy to know that you're still alive.
Irma: That makes two of us. Didn't I have some coffee? Where the hell is it?
T.C.: Well, I could take you into the kitchen and get you a cup.
Irma: Get away from me, you woman-hungry hound.
T.C.: Oh, I didn't mean any disrespect.
Irma: Well, just get me my damn coffee, and make it snappy.
T.C.: Yes, ma'am. Liz, I really need to talk to you in the kitchen.
Liz: Yes, I'll just get Aunt Irma settled, and I'll be right in.
Irma: Who is that? One of Eve's pimps?
Liz: No, that's her husband.
Irma: Fool. Don't he know he married to a whore and a druggie?
Liz: No, he doesn't, Aunt Irma, but he will as soon as you tell him. All we need to do is find the right moment.
Irma: Blah, blah, blah, blah. Just get me my damn coffee!
Liz: Yes, ma'am.
Liz's inner voice: Damn you for leaving, Eve, but when you come back, I'll let aunt Irma do her rant, and then you'll be done for.
Miguel: I'm not turning my back on you and Maria to be with Charity. I can't even get work here. That's why you went to work at the cannery in the first place. The Cranes have blackballed my whole family, so, you know, none of us can get jobs. I mean, if I'm going to be able to support you and Maria, I'm going to have to find work in another town.
Kay: So Charity will stay here while you go work in another town?
Miguel: I didn't say that.
Kay: I knew it. I knew it. Not only are you leaving me and Maria, you're leaving with Charity.
Miguel: Kay, we're not married, you know? But we do have a child together, and I will be there for you and Maria, no matter what.
Kay: You're such a liar. I mean, how can you be there for us if you're living someplace else? You know, I knew I couldn't count on you. And I knew that when push came to shove, you would choose Charity over me, just like everybody else.
Tabitha: Get your suitcase. I'll start getting your clothes out.
Charity: Tabitha, what has come over you? It's like you're trying to get rid of me!
Tabitha: You said you were leaving town. I'm here to help expedite matters.
Charity: Well, Tabitha, I went to the hospital to say goodbye to Kay, and Miguel was there and he -- well, he convinced me not to go.
Tabitha: Honestly, child, how can you be so selfish? After all the hell you have brought to this town and the grief you caused your family and friends -- I mean, how can you possibly entertain the notion of staying on when it's glaringly obvious that your presence here will unleash even more misery and heartache?
Charity: I can't lose Miguel.
Tabitha: No matter what price he or anyone else has to pay? Right? Or have you forgotten all the pain and suffering you've already caused?
Charity: No. But maybe things are going to be different.
Tabitha: This is your cue, Endora. Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the most selfish one of all?
[Endora causes a tragic scene to appear in Charity's mirror.]
Miguel: Charity! Charity! I've got to get you out of here. Oh, my god! It's an avalanche!
[Endora's spell ends.]
Tabitha: You have to leave Harmony, Charity. Or the guilt of the pain that you have caused here will eat you alive.
Luis: Now, once Alistair realized that he couldn't control Katherine's fate, he had to blame someone for her death, so he blamed you. Now, once Eve made you realize that, that's when your nightmares stopped.
Sheridan: Until now. Why have they come back?
Luis: Well, I'm no psychiatrist, but I think it's because of what happened to Antonio.
Sheridan: Oh, god -- Antonio.
Luis: You blame yourself for his death just like you blamed yourself for your mother's death.
Sheridan: Luis, I miss my mother so much. Sometimes I think that if she hadn't died, my life would have been so different.
Luis: Different how?
Sheridan: Well, I really think that she would have been able to protect Julian and me from my father being so cruel and controlling. She would have made Julian and me feel so loved and protected. My brother was lucky enough to have her around for as long as he did. I just wish I had had more time with her. If only she hadn't died. If only she were alive and well -- my god, it would change everything.
Katherine: The night Alistair stabbed you and left you for dead on the living room floor, I -- I so wanted to help you, but Alistair had his security guards drag me upstairs and lock me in my room.
Katherine: Let me go! That's Pilar's husband down there! Please, let me go!
Alistair: You thought you could take me on, Fitzgerald? Well, think again. I'm going to tell the police you attacked me, that I had to stab you in self-defense.
Alistair: Oh, yes.
Kay: It's not enough that you disemboweled me with that metal rod. Now you're stabbing me in the back and breaking all your promises that you made to Maria and me so you can just run off with Charity?
Miguel: Kay, it's not like that.
Kay: I can see my personals ad now -- "unmarried, unwanted, infertile woman with child seeks geeks, freaks, or closeted gay guys to share my living hell of a life."
Miguel: Kay, stop. You've got -- you've got plenty to offer the right guy.
Kay: I found the right guy, Miguel. Charity just stole you away from me.
Miguel: You'll meet someone. You know, and you're not always going to have to take care of Maria by yourself. You know, she can come stay with me and Charity for part of the year.
Kay: I can't have any more children, and now you want to take the one child that I do have away from me for months at a time?
Miguel: I was just trying to make it easier for you.
Kay: Oh, right. Ok, so for part of the year, I'll be by myself. No husband, no daughter -- just the guys lined up outside ready to sleep with me because I can't get pregnant. Oh, you know what? Maybe that's how I'll support Maria -- by charging for it. "Oh, that Kay Bennett! She's eggless and eager to please!"
Miguel: Kay, stop it! All right?
Kay: You know what? You're doing the smart thing, Miguel. You're getting away from me before I wear the scarlet B for "barren" around my neck for the rest of my life.
Tabitha: If you stay in Harmony, the guilt of the misery you've caused, and the knowledge that your presence will invite more evil, will weigh heavily on your conscience.
Charity: But I love Miguel.
Tabitha: Yes, and look what your love has cost the lad.
[Endora causes more magical disturbances.]
Statues: Be careful, Charity. You are the one, Charity. Charity, you are the one. Charity, be careful.
Tabitha: Look at the evil that swirls around you, Charity.
Miguel: Oh, my god! The house is being sucked in!
Tabitha: And remember the hell your being here has unleashed. How can you stay on knowing that you'll cause more suffering? Oh, no, Charity, you must leave Harmony, and you must take evil with you.
[Endora's spell abates.]
Kay: Hey, I'll be the new whore of Harmony.. I'll have my own stool at that country bar near the interstate. 20 bucks a trucker, 40 if they're missing teeth.
Miguel: Kay, enough. Look, you've got plenty to offer the right guy. You know, just because you can't have any more children doesn't mean you're not worthy of being loved, or happy.
Kay: Try telling that to the guy who wants to have children of their own, not your leftovers.
Miguel: Don't say that. I love Maria.
Kay: But you love Charity more. Oh, and I bet she's as fertile as the Nile Delta. She'll give you all the children you ever wanted. You and Charity will have a new family, and then they will mean more to you than Maria and I ever did.
Miguel: Why do you keep saying that? I love Maria, and I always will.
Kay: Well, I always loved you, but did that get me anywhere? No! I mean, look at me now! Ow, my -- oh, my god, I'm bleeding!
Miguel: Oh, jeez. Kay? Kay! Kay!
[Charity continues to relive more of the evil that has passed through Harmony.]
Zombie Charity: Death and destruction to all! Die, humans, die!
[Zombie Charity laughs]
Miguel: Charity --
Demons: Death, destruction! Kill them!
Demons: Kill them all! Death, death to them all!
Miguel: Help me!
Demons: Kill! Kill!
Zombie Charity: Yes --
Zombie Charity: Destroy them. Destroy them all.
Charity: I did bring death and destruction into Harmony. I've ruined the lives of everyone that I care about. I'll leave! I'll leave tonight and I'll never come back!
Demons: Destroy them. Destroy them all.
Julian: How's Pilar?
Eve: She's stable for now. But the stress of dealing with Antonio's death is not going to go away any time soon. The depth of Pilar's grief could bring on another seizure, or worse.
Julian: I hope not. And I know how worried you are about what's happening with Liz and Aunt Irma.
Eve: I'm a doctor, and I deal with life and death all the time. But the death of my own life as I know it -- I'm not handling that very well. Tonight is the night that my past is exposed. It's the night that I lose my family, lose them forever.
Julian: Come here.
Liz: So, when do you think Eve will be back?
T.C.: I don't know, Liz. But what I've been trying to tell you -- I can't wait any longer. It's about Antonio.
Liz: What about him?
T.C.: Trying to say this is -- it's not an easy thing to say.
Liz: Say what, T.C.?
T.C.: Antonio is dead.
T.C.: Liz, I'm so sorry. I know how much Antonio meant to you.
Liz: But how? How is it that Antonio's dead?
T.C.: He and the pilot were killed in the Crane jet when it exploded after takeoff.
Liz: I don't understand. Why was Antonio on the Crane jet?
T.C.: Liz, from what I understand, he was taking Sheridan to St. Lisa's. And she didn't want to go, so he let her get off. And then the plane just blew up over the coast.
Liz: Antonio's gone?
T.C.: Liz, I'm so sorry. Is there anything I can do for you?
Liz: Just give me a few moments alone.
Liz: The only man I ever truly loved is gone. If only I had shown him how much I loved him, how much I needed him. We'd be together now. He never would've left St. Lisa's. He'd be alive.
Liz: But, Eve, you knew how much I loved you. You knew how much I needed you, and you left. You left me with daddy. You didn't come back. Daddy had years to hurt me, Eve! Of course I had to build up walls so thick that no man's love could get through them. Not even Antonio's. This is your fault, Eve. Antonio is dead, and it's all your fault. You cost Antonio his life. I'm going to cost you yours.
Martin: He forced our hand, Katherine. Alistair forced our hand.
Alistair: A nice, clean set of prints to back up my claim that Fitzgerald threatened to shoot me, and I defended myself. What made that damn help think he could steal my wife, then take on the head of the Crane empire and win? Stupid fool. Who the hell did you think you were? What the --
Martin: Who's the damn fool now, Crane?
Alistair: Let -- let me go, and -- and I won't press charges.
Martin: Let you go?
Martin: No. Now you get what's coming to you.
Sheridan: You know what, Luis? I think you're right. The reason why I'm having those dreams again about having blood on my hands and then seeing a body under a sheet is because I blame myself for Antonio's death.
Luis: Well, it's like just like you let your father blame you for your mother's death.
Sheridan: He told me I was a wicked girl.
Luis: Yeah. Letting someone you love blame you for someone else's death -- it's -- it's a lot of guilt to carry around.
Sheridan: God, and I do. I -- I feel guilty. I feel so guilty. If only I had made Antonio get off my family's jet. I -- I should have. Oh, my god. I can see it in your eyes. You blame me for Antonio's death. You think it's my fault that Antonio died.
NEXT ON PASSIONS:
T.C.: Is what Aunt Irma said true? Were you Julian's whore?
Alistair: No one must ever know about what you've done. Never.
Sheridan: Oh, god, Luis, make it stop! Please get these things out of my head!
Whitney: I have to know, Fox. Are you in love with me?
