Ivy: Oh, Sam. How did you get here? [Sam surprises Ivy by catching her on her walk from the Seascape.]
Sam: I knew where you were going, and I took a shortcut. Are you all right?
Ivy: I'm fine. Sam, I'm fine. Just call Grace. She loves you, and I know you still love her.
Sam: Ivy, she's the mother of my children, ok?
Ivy: I know, Sam. I know. I missed my chance years ago. Just call Grace. Goodbye, Sam.
Sam: Ivy, I don't want to call Grace.
Ivy: Then what do you want, Sam?
Sam: This. [Sam grabs Ivy and kisses her.]
Tabitha: Everything is going swimmingly here in Harmony, and I just hope my phone call will keep that couple in Mexico. Huh. It's hard to believe they've been down there all this time. But if they come back to Harmony, it will rock this town to its core. [Tabitha tunes into our mystery Man and Woman on her gazing bowl.]
Woman: You don't mean that, Paloma.
Paloma: Yes, I do. Why should I ever want to call my family? They mean nothing to me.
Man: Don't say that. Your mother loves you very much, and so do your brothers and sister.
Paloma: Tio, how can you say they love me? They send me over 3,000 miles to live here in Mexico when I was just a baby. I don't even know those people.
Woman: Nevertheless, they are your family, and they are desperate to have you call them again.
Paloma: I don't care. I don't know them. Why should I ever give a damn?
Man: Don't be rude! Your Aunt Maria wouldn't approve of you using that kind of language.
Paloma: Look, I don't mean to be rude, but my friends are waiting. You are like godparents to me, and the only family I know are you two and my tia Maria. If those people in Harmony want to see me, let them come here. Now, may I please go out with my friends?
Man: No, not dressed like that.
Paloma: I'm only wearing what all the girls wear!
Man: It's totally inappropriate, and you will go make a phone call to your family in Harmony.
Woman: Paloma, please make the call. Whatever is going on there may be very, very serious.
Luis: You got to save her.
Theresa: Please, please, Dr. Russell, don't let her die, please.
Eve: Oh, the medication wasn't working. I was afraid her body was going to give out.
Antonio: Can you do something?
Miguel: Can you help her, Dr. Russell?
Eve: I'll do everything I can. Ok, everybody, please, clear the room, quickly!
Jean: Everybody move out of the way, please! We need the room!
Eve: Ok, give me 200. [Charging shock paddles.]
Jean: Ok. 200, ready.
Eve: Clear! 300. [Charging shock paddles again.]
Jean: Yes. 300, ready.
Eve: Clear! Give me one amp. Of epi.
Jean: One amp. Of epi. [Administers a shot of epinephrine to the IV.]
Singer: I would hold the hand of the one who could lead me places, and kiss the lips of the one who could sing so sweet, and I, would fly on the wings of the bird, I knew, could take me highest. Breathe in, breathe out, you keep me alive; you are the fire burning inside of me; you are my passion for life.
Paloma: All right. If you want me to call again, I will.
Woman: Thank you, Paloma.
Paloma: [Paloma pretends to call while actually cutting off the connection.] Ahem. Hello? Oh, it's the answering machine. This is Paloma, and I'm returning your call. Your messages have everyone here freaked out, so call us back and tell us what's going on, ok? Thank you. [She pretends to hang-up.] Happy now?
Man: Thank you, Paloma.
Paloma: Now may I please go out with my friends?
Man: You know what? Not --
Woman: No -- as a favor to me, change your clothes, please.
Paloma: Ok. For you, tia, and you, tio, I will. Voy a cambiar, ok? Nos vemos mas tarde?
Woman: Si. Buenos noches, Senor Wheeler, Senora Wheeler.
[Our mystery Man and Woman are Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler.]
Mrs. Wheeler: Have fun.
Mr. Wheeler: Good night, girls. Be good.
Mrs. Wheeler: You know, I'm afraid that what we've done has damaged Paloma.
Mr. Wheeler: Damaged her?
Mrs. Wheeler: Yes, I mean -- I mean, do you see how she talks about her family? She's so bitter, so angry.
Mr. Wheeler: We did the best we could.
Mrs. Wheeler: I know.
Mr. Wheeler: At least we've been here to watch over her all these years, even though she doesn't know who we really are.
Mrs. Wheeler: I know, but I have never seen her this angry. I worry about what's in store for her.
Tabitha: Oh. I'd have it easier being a damn juggler in the circus. Trying to keep charity and Miguel apart, trying to keep Sheridan and Luis apart, and now I've got to worry about those two coming back to Harmony.
Tabitha: And what will happen if Pilar dies? [Watching the scene at the hospital on her gazing bowl.]
Eve: Jean, shut the door.
Jean: Yes, doctor.
Julian: I'm truly sorry, Luis, and I know that my standing here's a bitter reminder of what you gave up when you turned those C.D.s back to father.
Luis: Yeah, well, I did the right thing, even though I wanted to expose you and your father more than anything. But when I found out that Alistair could get my mother into this experimental drug program, obviously I had no choice.
Julian: You also gave up your one chance to get Sheridan back in your life.
Luis: Well --
Julian: And I do believe that you're right about father brainwashing Sheridan to forget you. Those C.D.s would have proved it.
Luis: Yeah, well, looks like I'm going to lose my mother now anyway, doesn't it? Yeah. I'm going to lose the two women I love the most.
Eve: Still no pulse. Let's try again. Give me 350. [Charging defibrillator paddles.]
Jean: 350, ready.
Jean: We've lost her, doctor.
Eve: Give me one amp of adrenaline.
Jean: One amp. Of adrenaline.
Theresa: They gave mama adrenaline right into her heart.
Whitney: And if that doesn't work?
Miguel: It has to.
Luis: Dr. Russell, what's happening? Is she alive?
Miguel: Dr. Russell, please tell us what's going on.
Theresa: She's dead, isn't she, Dr. Russell? Mama's dead.
Eve: Pilar's alive. She's come back with a strong pulse and heartbeat.
Theresa: Oh, thank you, god!
Antonio: You say she's come back, but what's next?
Sheridan: What's happening with her blood disease?
Miguel: Well, since the experimental drug didn't work, what do we try now?
Eve: Well, I just talked to the lab because I wanted to see the results of her last blood test, and it appears that Pilar has turned a corner.
Eve: The drugs are working for her now.
Theresa: So she's going to be ok? She's going to recover?
Eve: All indications are yes. She's going to be frail and recuperating from the trauma for a while, but the prognosis is good. I think we've all witnessed a miracle.
Sheridan: Eve, you're the miracle.
Luis: Thanks, doc.
Whitney: Fox, can you tell me why your father's here?
Fox: Well, you know, Whitney, Pilar was our housekeeper for years, so he probably --
Whitney: No, no, that's not why he's here. He's here because of my mother.
Chad: Let it go, ok?
Sheridan: Antonio, why don't you use this time to put aside your differences with Luis. You know, reconnect, be brothers again.
Antonio: No, Sheridan. I didn't forget what happened earlier in the chapel -- Luis trying to manipulate you once again and trying to tell you how Alistair somehow had you brainwashed to make you forget you love him. It's crazy.
Sheridan: Look, I know that we didn't see it, but Eve said that Luis had proof, but he gave up the evidence to save Pilar.
Antonio: Well, then, Eve must have been fooled, too. I don't believe a word Luis says. He'll do anything to try to get you back, Sheridan. I don't believe him at all. Come on, let's go.
Sheridan: Wait. Don't you want to wait and see Pilar?
Antonio: Yeah, she probably needs her rest right now. I tell you what -- we'll come back when there's nobody here. Come on. [Antonio and Sheridan leave the hospital.]
Miguel: When can we see our mother?
Eve: Oh, well, sure, you can go in for a few minutes, but then I want you to all go home and get a good night's sleep.
Theresa: And you'll call us if there's any changes?
Eve: Of course I will.
Luis: Come on.
Theresa: Thanks. So, she's all right!
Chad: Aren't you so proud of your mother for saving Pilar's life?
Whitney: Yes, I am. But that's about all.
Nurse: It's Pilar's results.
Eve: Oh, thank you.
Fox: Excuse me, beautiful, ok?
Fox: It's ok. Excuse me, nurse. My father, Julian Crane, was talking to me about some blood --
Nurse: Oh, Mr. Crane, we are so sorry. It was a terrible mix-up. Someone made an awful mistake when your father came in with his gunshot wound. They must have grabbed the wrong bag of transfusable blood.
Fox: His gunshot wound?
Fox: Right. Yeah, I know. I know he has a -- he has a rare blood type.
Nurse: He could have died without a transfusion, even from a superficial wound. That's why he keeps a supply of his own blood on hand, but he was given someone else's blood by mistake.
Fox: Why isn't he dead?
Nurse: That's what's amazing. Whoever donated the blood has the same rare type as your father.
Fox: How can that be?
Nurse: Well, it had to be from one of his children. Either you or one of your siblings must have donated blood here.
Fox: Right. Ok. Thanks.
Fox: Huh. My father gets shot again. He doesn't mention it. I haven't donated any blood. I know my sisters haven't donated any blood. What the hell is this all about?
Julian: Well, you know, you saved Pilar's life.
Eve: Well, I'm just glad that experimental drug finally kicked in and started helping her. Now we may have another miracle.
Julian: What's that?
Eve: This is going to help us search the blood bank, because whoever donated that blood for your transfusion has to be our son.
Julian: Perhaps he lives here in Harmony.
Eve: I can't wait to get to the computer. We're going to find him, Julian. We're going to find our son.
Chad: Oh, I'm going to come back and give blood soon.
Whitney: You're such a good person, baby. What made you decide to donate blood?
Chad: Well, they told me I had a rare type and it was needed.
Theresa: How are you feeling?
Pilar: I'm a little tired. I'm happy. I'm so happy. All my children are here. Hey. Where's Antonio?
Luis: Well, he and Sheridan left a few minutes ago. I'm sure they'll be back.
Pilar: Did you talk with him? Did you have a talk with Antonio?
Luis: Yeah -- why don't we talk about that when you're feeling better, ok? You -- you just get some rest and relax, ok?
Pilar: Ok, mijo.
Luis: I love you.
Pilar: I love you, too, mijo.
Theresa: I love you, too, mama.
Pilar: Oh, my angel.
Miguel: Me, too.
Pilar: Bye, Miguelito.
Miguel: See you tomorrow, ok?
Pilar: Ok. I love you, mijo. Goodbye, mijo.
[Back in the hospital lobby.]
Miguel: Hey, Luis, I know what you had to give up to save mama's life, and I just want to say thank you.
Theresa: Yeah, the only reason mama is alive is because you gave back those C.D.s to Alistair. Thanks.
Luis: Yeah. I'm just glad she made it, you know. And I'm still hopeful that -- look, I'll get back with Sheridan someday. How, I don't have a clue, but --
[Back at her flat, Tabitha has been watching everything at the hospital in her gazing bowl.]
Tabitha: Ha! How are you going to get Sheridan back? Well, I'll tell you, my friend. You aren't going to get her back, not if I have anything to do with it -- never. It'll never happen. Really. Oh, I don't know which situation to handle first! Shall I take care of those two and make sure they don't come back to Harmony, or shall I make sure that Sheridan and Luis are parted forever? You know, I could really use some guidance here. [Photos of Sheridan, then Luis, then Antonio appear in mid-air around Tabitha. She takes down an 8x10 black and white of each person.] Well, I guess that's pretty clear. I'm on it.
Tabitha: Begone! [The photos vanish.] Hmm. When I have finished with you, you three will never recover. I am going to destroy this love if it's the last thing I do!
Ivy: Oh, Sam -- Sam, what are you doing?
Sam: I'm trying to show you how I feel about you.
Ivy: Oh. What about Grace? You were just telling me what a wonderful marriage you had with Grace and how being with Grace was the happiest time in your life.
Sam: It was. That was before David came to town and I found out he was Grace's husband, before she had amnesia and married me. Now that's all in the past.
Ivy: What about the things I did to you? What about my running to you on the night I married Julian and running away from you the next morning and turning my back on our love?
Sam: That was painful, too. But I moved on.
Ivy: Are you saying you could just forget and that you want to move on with me?
Sam: Yes. I want to start our future right now.
Mrs. Wheeler: But I'm concerned about Paloma. You heard her. She said that we're like her godparents. If she only knew who we really were.
Mr. Wheeler: No, she can't know, not yet. Honey, come here.
Mrs. Wheeler: Hmm?
Mr. Wheeler: Please don't be worried, hmm?
Mrs. Wheeler: It's not just Paloma. I wonder who made that strange phone call to us telling us not to come back to Harmony. Who would do that?
Mr. Wheeler: I can't imagine. No one from Harmony knows we're here.
Mrs. Wheeler: I'm not so sure. Do you think that call had anything to do with the calls coming in to Paloma?
Mr. Wheeler: No, I don't think so.
Mrs. Wheeler: I'm afraid that it's just all coming back to us, we've caused so much pain, and I have this very strong feeling that we're going to have to face what we've done.
Mr. Wheeler: You're overreacting. What we did; we did for love. We had no other choice. I couldn't have lived without you.
Mrs. Wheeler: Nor I without you.
Mr. Wheeler: Now, that phone call you got, hmm? That might have been a hallucination, your imagination running wild.
Mrs. Wheeler: No, it was not my imagination. I heard someone telling me that we were never to contact anybody in Harmony ever again.
Mr. Wheeler: All right, all right. Let's just -- let's just give it a little time, and then we'll figure out exactly what we have to do.
Mrs. Wheeler: Really? You'll consider it?
Mr. Wheeler: Yeah, I've been meaning to talk to you about this. If you really want to go back, then that's what we'll do. We'll take the next flight out to Harmony.
Paloma: Why would the two of you want to go to Harmony?
Tabitha: Antonio. Tonight I am going to make Antonio do exactly what I want him to do!
[Tabitha chuckles and hums while drawing an aura around the Antonio's head and a black cat over his shoulder.]
Tabitha: Lovely, if I do say so myself. And now just one more little detail and everything will be perfect.
Sheridan: You know what? Antonio, we cannot leave while you're still estranged from your family.
Antonio: Sheridan, you are the only family I need now. Tomorrow we're going to be back in St. Lisa's, where we can live our lives and be happy without interference from anyone. Now, you said you want that, too.
Sheridan: Yes, but -- you know, I got a lot a little scared when you said you would make sure that Luis would never manipulate me again. You know, I was a little afraid that you would kill your own brother.
Antonio: Well, the fact of the matter is, yes, I'm still mad at Luis, but I want to forget all that right now. Look, I just want us to go to bed, get a good night's rest, go to St. Lisa's tomorrow. We're going to leave first thing in the morning, ok?
Sheridan: All right. I'm going to go take a bath and unwind.
Antonio: Ok. I'm going to finish packing and then hit the sack, so --
Antonio: Good night.
Sheridan: Good night.
Tabitha: There. Perfect. [Tabitha finishes her drawing and magically makes the cat she drew on the photo come to life.]
Tabitha: Hello, kitty, well, what are you waiting for? Psst -- go! Go, go! Go to Antonio!
[The black cat dives through gazing bowl water and splashes Tabitha. Tabitha gasps]
Tabitha: Oh! Oh, very nice. Well, thank you very much.
Tabitha: Come, Antonio. Follow, follow the cat. He will lead you to my flat.
Antonio: What the heck? How'd you get in here?
[The black cat materializes on Antonio's bed. Cat meows]
Tabitha: Come, Antonio. Come to me. Do follow the cat and Luis will be through. Come, Antonio. Follow, follow the cat. [The cat leads Antonio out of his room and toward Tabitha's house.]
Tabitha: That's it, love. Good kitty! And when Antonio comes to my house, he, Luis, and Sheridan will be finished, kaput!
Ivy: Oh, Sam. What about Grace?
Sam: You and I are together right now. I have feelings for you, and I want to see where these feelings take us.
Ivy: Sam, are you sure? I mean, can we just --
Sam: Shh. Let me make love to you.
Sam: Let me make love to you right now. [Sam embraces Ivy.]
Sheridan: Antonio? Antonio, are you here? Oh, no. I hope he didn't go to find Luis. Oh, please don't let him do anything stupid.
Luis: Somehow, some way I'm going to get you back, Sheridan. I'll find a way.
Tabitha: Oh, no, you won't, Luis. You will never get Sheridan back.
[The black cat appears in Tabitha's house. Antonio is close behind.]
Tabitha: Hello, puss-puss. You brought me a present, haven't you? Hmm?
[Tabitha makes the cat vanish.]
Tabitha: Antonio, please come in.
Antonio: Who are you? What's going on? How did I get here?
Tabitha: You came for help, and you came to the right place.
Antonio: I don't understand.
Tabitha: You want to keep Luis away from Sheridan, don't you? I can help you do that.
Tabitha: I'm warning you, Antonio. You must stop Luis going after Sheridan or you will lose her forever.
Tabitha: No, don't -- don't worry. It's all right. I'm going to help you. I'm going to help you get rid of Luis.
Eve: All right, I'm in the database. Now we can start searching for our son.
Julian: Isn't there some sort of privacy issue? Don't people who donate blood have a right to be anonymous?
Eve: Well, that only applies to the personal health history of the donor.
Julian: Oh, so this really is possible?
Eve: Yes. I'm just going to look for the men who would be our son's age. And with your blood type being so rare, it shouldn't be hard to find the donor. And then we will have found our son.
Julian: What is it?
Eve: Do you know what this means, Julian? This means that our son is in Harmony, so we have to find him before something disastrous happens.
Julian: Well, what are you talking about?
Eve: Remember when I told you that my worst fear is that our son would meet and fall in love with one of my daughters? Oh, god, we can't let that happen.
Whitney: I honestly don't believe my mother. She actually snuck off with Julian once again.
Chad: You don't know that.
Whitney: No --
Chad: Your mother probably just went home.
Whitney: Honey, I saw them walking away together holding hands. My mother -- I mean, it's like I don't even know her anymore. You know what I'm saying? And if she can carry on the way she is with Julian, if she can lie to my father the way she is constantly, what other secrets could she have?
Theresa: Hey. You ok? You look a little upset.
Fox: No, it's nothing, it's nothing.
Theresa: No, it's ok. You can tell me. I want to help you. I mean, you're always here for me, so let me be here for you.
Fox: Yeah, ok, ok. Bear with me on this one. My father keeps an extra supply of blood on hand here at the hospital because, you know, there could be an emergency and he's got a rare blood type, right?
Fox: Well, I just found out that the brilliant geniuses here at the hospital gave him the wrong blood when he needed a transfusion.
Theresa: Oh, my god. Ok, is your dad all right? What happened?
Fox: No, he's great. He's doing real good. Look, I don't know the whole story, but the nurse said that the blood was donated by one of his kids and that that's the reason that the blood type matched.
Theresa: Ok, well, then, that's good, isn't it?
Fox: No, Theresa, no, it's not good. It's not good at all. I know for a fact that none of Julian's kids ever donated any blood. I didn't donate any blood. I know my sisters didn't donate any blood. They haven't been home in ages. You see what this means? Huh?
Fox: Well, it means that Julian's got some bastard kid out there, right, which really sucks for me, because I woke up this morning the only male Crane heir, first in line to inherit. If this kid decides to come back, I could lose everything!
Paloma: Why would you two want to go to Harmony?
Mrs. Wheeler: We're concerned about you, Paloma.
Mr. Wheeler: Si. I mean, we're worried about the phone calls from your family. If something bad is happening and you have to go back, then we'd want to go there with you, to support you.
Paloma: Oh. Well, thank you, but I'm sure everything's fine there. Estoy ahora mejor?
Mrs. Wheeler: Yes, that's much better. Thank you.
Mr. Wheeler: Now you look like a proper young lady.
Paloma: I'm sorry I was such a brat earlier. I lost my temper.
Mrs. Wheeler: Oh, that's all right, sweetheart.
Paloma: Ok, I'm going to grab a bottle of water for the road, hmm?
Mr. Wheeler: She's a good girl, mm-hmm.
Mrs. Wheeler: Yes, she is. But, honey, I'm still -- I'm still worried about what's going on back in Harmony.
Mr. Wheeler: I read the papers, I checked the internet. Nothing catastrophic has happened in Harmony lately.
Mrs. Wheeler: I just can't get that warning call out of my head. I hope that everyone we care about back there is safe and sound.
[Pounding on door]
Sheridan: Luis, Luis, are you there? It's me! Open up!
Luis: What's --
Luis: Sheridan? Hey. What's going on? What are you doing here?
Sheridan: I just -- I just want to make sure that you're all right!
Tabitha: Do you know where your wife is tonight, Antonio? [Tabitha shows Antonio where Sheridan is with the gazing bowl.]
Antonio: It's Hank's apartment. Sheridan's with Luis?
Luis: Am I dreaming, huh?
Sheridan: No, Luis, you're not dreaming. I'm -- I'm really here.
Luis: Ok, ok. Well, why are you here?
Sheridan: I was worried about you. I got out of the bath and Antonio was gone, and he was so angry with you. I was afraid that he would come here. I was afraid he would try and hurt you.
Luis: You were worried about me. Sheridan, you still care about me, and you were thinking about me. I'm the man that you really love. That's why.
Ivy: Oh, Sam. Did you really mean what you said, that Grace I in the past?
Sam: I meant it, Ivy. Grace is in the past.
Ivy: Oh. Oh, Sam. Oh, Sam -- [Sam and Ivy make love.]
Fox: Theresa, you know, my whole life I've been the black sheep, you know? Ethan was the one that mother doted on. He was the golden boy. And then when it finally came out that he wasn't Julian's son, I was the heir. Now if this bastard kid of Julian's decides to come home to roost, I'll just keep ending up losing a bigger and bigger slice of the pie.
Julian: What's going on?
Eve: The search is over.
Julian: What do we know?
Julian: What do you mean, nothing?
Eve: Oh, there is a privacy lock on the list of donors.
Julian: Well, is there any way around it?
Eve: No. No. Our son could be anywhere. I thought that it would be easy to find him if he was in Harmony.
Julian: Don't worry, Eve. We'll find him. I swear to you we'll find our son.
Chad: Baby, I know you're upset about your mom, but I'm upset, too.
Whitney: You're upset? What are you upset about?
Chad: Well, you haven't kissed me in, like, 10 minutes.
Whitney: Well, baby, I think there's something we can do about that.
Theresa: Fox, you know that Alistair is not going to give the Crane fortune to someone who isn't legally a Crane.
Fox: Yeah, I don't know. I wouldn't be so sure.
Theresa: Well, you remember when it came out that Ethan was really Sam Bennett's son?
Theresa: And they stripped him of everything. It's all about being a full-blooded Crane, and that's what you are.
Fox: You're damn right that's what I am.
Theresa: Ok. So there's no way Alistair is going to let a bastard child be the next Crane heir.
Fox: Yeah, ok. Ok, Theresa, you're probably right, actually. Yeah, but still, whoever the bastard is I hope he stays gone, you know, and decides not to come out of the woodwork and claim his stake in my family's fortune.
Mr. Wheeler: You worry too much, honey. Like I said, Paloma's a good girl.
Mrs. Wheeler: Well, she always has been. But I am sure she has suffered, being sent here away from her family. And the scars of that separation could surface one day.
Paloma: Ok, I'm ready. See you later.
Mrs. Wheeler: See you later.
Mr. Wheeler: Don't stay out too late.
Paloma: I won't.
Mrs. Wheeler: Good night, dear.
Paloma: Good night.
Mr. Wheeler: Buenas noches. [Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler go upstairs to bed.]
Paloma: Buenas noches.
Paloma: Oye, que estas haciendo aqui? [A mystery boy sneaks and begins kissing Paloma.]
Man: Pues vine para ti? Tu amigas me dicieron que todabia estabas aqui?
Man: What's with the outfit?
Paloma: Oh, right. [She strips out of her proper jacket and dress and has her mini dress on underneath.]
Man: Much better.
Man: Let's go.
Antonio: What's Sheridan doing there? Why is she with Luis?
Tabitha: Just keep watching, Antonio. All your questions will be answered.
Sheridan: Luis, you don't understand. I came here because I was afraid Antonio would do something stupid. I didn't want him to hurt you because he'd wind up in jail!
Luis: No, no, no. You were protecting -- Sheridan, you were protecting me because you love me.
Sheridan: Luis, listen to me. Once and for all, I am in love with Antonio. He is the man that I'm going to spend the rest of my life with, and nothing is going to change that.
Luis: Well, I'm going to change that. I'm going to prove to you that I'm the man that you want to be with and I'm the man that you love.
Antonio: Damn you, Luis!
NEXT ON PASSIONS:
Eve: I'm sorry, Ethan. It doesn't look good.
Ethan: I don't think Gwen will be able to take losing another child.
Pilar: You have made a terrible mistake, mija, one that will cost you and many innocent people for years to come!
Antonio: I'm going to put a stop to Luis once and for all.
