Passions Transcript Friday 12/25/03
tabitha: Thank hades this wretched christmas season is almost over. Oh, scrooge has nothing on me when it comes to hating christmas. And this year's been even worse than usual, what, with my relatives dropping in and endora conjuring santa and company out of the tv and almost burning the place down, trying to get rid of all these horrid christmas decorations those brats put up. Well, she's sleeping now, so she won't be stirring up any more trouble. Hmm, I think I'm going to kick back and enjoy a peaceful, silent night.
Norma: Ho, ho, ho. Norma claus is here to bury the hatchet -- in tabitha.
Ivy: Oh, oh --
sam: Hey. I still can't believe you're walking. That's incredible.
Ivy: Merry christmas, sam.
Sam: Wow. I'm so glad you're walking again. You know, I blamed myself for you being paralyzed in the first place. If you hadn't tried to help me save --
ivy: Sam. No, it's not your fault I was struck by lightning.
Sam: Still, I'll always be grateful to you, ivy.
Ivy: And I to you for taking me in when I had nowhere else to go.
Sam: I was glad to. You know, you mean a lot to me, ivy. You always have and you always will.
Ivy: Well, you know how I feel about you.
Grace: Looks like ivy got her wish.
Ivy: Ye I'm walking again.
Grace: That's not what I meant.
Choir: Hark! The herald angels sing glory to the newborn king
rebecca: I still think I should take little ethan away from theresa now.
Juli:N: No. I will not have a scene here in church. It's christmas. The boy belongs with his mother.
Rebecca: Ok, ok, fine. But as soon as christmas is over, I'm going to make sure that theresa is never around your son again.
Ethan: Thanks for not doing anything to keep little ethan away from his mother on christmas. My wanting them together, it's -- it's not about theresa, gwen, it's about little ethan. A child should not be apart from his mother at a special time like this.
Gwen: But sarah is. Our little girl is dead.
Choir: Late in time behold him come offspring of a virgin's womb
T.C.: Is everything ok?
Eve: Well, I may have to go and check on sheridan shortly.
T.C.: Sheridan's here?
Eve: Oh, it's a long story, honey. She's back there in the vestibule just having a moment alone. Poor thing. She's been through so much -- losing her baby and then convincing herself that beth and luis' baby is hers.
Choir: Hark! The herald angels sing glory to the newborn king christ by highest heav'n adored christ the everlasting lord
beth: Mother, where are you? I got out of the shower, and you and my baby and precious were gone.
Mrs. Wallace: I'm trying to keep sheridan's baby from dying.
Beth: How? So you -- you took him to the church. All right. Just keep him there. I'm going to come get my baby right now.
Mrs. Wallace: Oh, no, missy. You are coming to the shock of your life.
Choir: Light and life to all he brings ris'n with healing in his wings mild he lays his glory by
antonio: What happened? The last time I saw sheridan, she was in the psych ward.
Choir: Born to give us second birth hark! The herald angels sing
pilar: It's a miracle. Look, antonio. Look at sheridan with the baby. Oh, my god, the joy and the love. It's a gift straight from god.
Singer: I would hold the hand of the one who could lead me places and kiss the lips of the one who could sing so sweet and i would fly on the wings of the bird I knew could take me highest breathe in, breathe out you keep me alive you are the fire burning inside of me you are my passion for life
tabitha: Now to watch my favorite christmas movie, "north pole chainsaw massacre."
[Knock on door]
Tabitha: Hell's bells. Who's crazy enough to bother me at this time of night?
Tabitha: I'm coming!
Norma: Ho, ho, ho! Merry christmas!
Tabitha: Sorry. You have the wrong house. I don't believe in santa.
Norma: Well, it's time to start!
Tabitha: I beg your pardon?
Norma: You can beg all you want! It's time to deck some halls with your blood and guts!
Tabitha: I -- I -- I don't believe it. It's --
norma: Yes, norma's back and ready to hack!
Norma: Aren't you going to ax me in?
Tabitha: I've got to do something, and fast, or that psycho's going to kill me.
Sheridan: He's so hungry.
Pilar: I cannot believe it. The baby is finally feeding.
Luis: Would you go get dr. Russell and let her know, please?
Pilar: Sure, mijo.
Antonio: Sheridan looks so happy.
Luis: Yeah, and we can't let anything change that, all right, for her sake or for the baby'S.
Tonio: That's all I've ever wanted, for sheridan to be happy.
Sheridan: Look, luis. He's fine now. Everything's going to be fine. Isn't it, sweetheart?
Antonio: Sheridan, you -- you look so content, so happy.
Sheridan: Just feels so natural, so right. That's the way it's supposed to be.
Mrs. Wallace: Sheridan instinctively knows that that baby is hers and that baby instinctively knows that she is his mama. And beth can try as long and as hard as she wants, but nothing is going to destroy that bond that sheridan has with that baby. Nothing.
Beth: Oh, no. No.
beth: I've got to stop this.
Eve: Pilar tells me the baby's nursing?
Eve: Guys, give me a few minutes. I want to check him out while he's feeding.
Sheridan: He was so hungry, eve. Yes, you were. But you're all right now. I'm going to make sure that you're taken care of.
Beth: I should've taken care of sheridan a long time ago. Ok, better late than never.
Mrs. Wallace: You leave her alone.
Beth: No. I'm going to get my baby back from sheridan. And then, when everything is back to normal, I'm taking care of you for ever letting this happen in the first place. Ow!
Mrs. Wallace: I came here to pray for a miracle, and I got it in the form of sheridan herself. She is saving that baby. So you, missy, you leave her alone.
Beth: Shut up, or thomas becket won't be the only one to die in a cathedral.
Mrs. Wallace: Look at them. Look at them. Look at how close they are. You cannot break a bond that deep no matter how hard you try, missy.
Beth: Ok, you watch me.
Tabitha: Ugh! There. This should keep that ax-wielding fiend at bay!
Norma: Ready or not, here I come!
Tabitha: The old girl's strong, I'll give her that. But she'll be no match for my newly restored powers.
Norma: Ah! Oh! Oh! Whoo! Ooh! Moving in for the kill makes me feel warm and tingly all over.
Deck the halls with chopped-up tabby fa-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la
tabitha: Endora, endora, wake up, wake up! Mommy needs your help! I used up all my powers putting out the fires you started. Endora! Wake up! Help me get rid of nutso norma! Oh! Oh. Oh, this is the one time I wish you weren't sleeping!
Tabitha: Where'd the old battle-ax go?
Tabitha: Oh, my devil -- the kitchen. Oh, I've got to block the back door!
Norma: Welcome to the party, tabitha -- your going-away party!
[Tabitha and norma scream]
Father lonigan: And to conclude our celebration tonight, I would like to end with a beautiful christmas novena. "Hail, and blessed be the hour and moment at which the son of god was born of a most pure virgin at a stable at midnight in bethlehem in the piercing cold. At that hour vouchsafe, I beseech you, to hear our prayers and grant our desires for peace on earth, goodwill toward men, through jesus christ and his most blessed mother." Amen.
Julian: I meant what I said, rebecca. Hands off.
Rebecca: All right. I won't do anything now. But first thing in the morning, your son is coming back to the mansion to stay.
Little ethan: Ethan!
Ethan: Hey. Hi, buddy. Merry christmas to you.
Theresa: Um, little ethan and I are going to have a very happy holiday, thanks to whitney and fox. Fox was there for little ethan and me. He helped me get my son back. He didn't turn his back on us like you did. Merry christmas.
Gwen: Rude bitch.
Ethan: Gwen, we're in church.
Gwen: You're right, you're right. Anyway, god knows what theresa is. But what I don't know, honey, and what I don't understand is why you didn't tell her that if it weren't for you, she wouldn't be with her son right now.
Ethan: It's best if she -- if she hates me right now. It's best for all of us.
Jessica: Hey, I asked john and simone to come back to my house for desert. You'll come, too, won't you?
Reese: Well, of course, my sweet. But isn't it a little late for company?
Jessica: The truth is I don't want to be alone. Mom and kay are gone. Noah's so upset with mom for choosing david over dad that he's not coming home again this year. Christmas is going to be really hard.
Reese: Don't worry, you're not alone. Your cuddle bear's here for you.
Jessica: Thanks, cuddle bear.
Reese: Come on.
Grace: David, I'm sorry for wanting to leave so soon.
David: Oh, grace, it's ok. I know it must have hurt you to see sam and ivy together.
Grace: Yeah, it did. I mean, it shouldn't, but --
david: How could it not? I mean, sam's been your life for over 20 years. You have a family together, you have children you love and adore. I think you and sam and the kids, you know, need more time to fully come to terms with your decision to be with john and me. I -- I promised you that I would never push you, and I never will. So just, you know, take as much time as you need, and know that I'll always be here for you.
Grace: Thank you, david. You're -- you're very understanding.
David: Well, it's easy when I -- when I love you as much as I do.
Luis: So it's true, right? Sheridan's nursing, my baby's really feeding?
Eve: Yeah, luis. Sheridan is nursing your baby, and your baby is taking it in.
Antonio: How is this possible? I mean, sheridan nursing.
Eve: Well, sometimes it can take a woman a while to stop producing milk after childbirth. Sheridan's still lactating, which is why she can still nurse.
Antonio: And that's ok?
Eve: Physically, yes.
Antonio: And what about emotionally?
Eve: For now, yes. I mean, look at her. Sheridan's transformed.
Luis: Well, she's sheridan again. She's happy and she's at peace.
Eve: Nursing this baby has brought sheridan some incredible joy, and it's not only good for her, it's good for the baby, as well. In fact, sheridan nursing your baby may very well be the thing that saves his life.
>> An ottawa minor hockey coach was told his team was too sick to play. So he pulled them from the tournament. Now, it's he who'll be out for the rest of the year.
>> They say sometimes you have to listen to your kids? This was a perfect example. Tonight's global national.
Singer: You are my passion for life
Tabitha: Get away from me, you fiend!
Norma: Hold still so I can give you the ax! It's my christmas present to daddy.
Tabitha: Endora, help!
Norma: Merry bloody christmas!
[Tabitha and norma scream]
Sam: I wonder what luis and eve are doing over there. I'll go check it out.
Ivy: I'll go with you.
Rebecca: Ivy's walking.
Julian: It's a miracle.
Rebecca: Oh, you bet it is. I mean, her butt had gotten so big from sitting in that wheelchair, I thought she'd get stuck.
Julian: You're all heart, my pet.
Rebecca: Oh, pookie, no, I'm happy for ivy. I really am. Just poor sam bennett. He has no idea what he's in for now that ivy can slither on her own again.
Jessica: Come on, reese, let's go.
Eve: No, luis, I'm not exaggerating. Sheridan nursing your baby could save his life.
Luis: God heard our prayers, for my son and sheridan.
Antonio: I'm really glad both of them are doing better. I really am.
Pilar: Yes, mijo, god answered our prayers.
Ivy: Pilar's right. All our prayers have been answered.
Luis: Beth, sheridan has saved our baby's life.
theresa: I think I heard reindeer on the roof when we were coming in, so why don't you see if santa was here, ok? Go check it out. I know it's really late, but I want to spend every second that I can with my son, you know?
Little ethan: Mommy, santa was here!
Whitney: Well, that shouldn't be a problem. I don't think he's going to sleep much now, anyway, right?
Theresa: You are so right, santa was here.
Fox: Well, good, now that he was here, I guess it's safe to start a fire in the fireplace.
Whitney: Yeah, that's a great idea.
Whitney: Hey, hey, hey, how about I put on some christmas music?
Theresa: Yes! I love you, sweetheart.
Whitney: This is really nice.
Fox: Yeah, it is really nice. Well, I can't believe you set all this up for the little man.
Theresa: Well, I never gave up hope that I'd have my son back for christmas. You know, I just -- I just wanted to have everything set up so that he would have the best holiday ever. You know, having my son back is the best christmas gift I could've asked for. Ok. Did you guys see the looks on rebeccandnd julian's faces when they saw me and little ethan in church?
Fox: You knowI actually think my father was just more shocked than anything. But that rebecca, man --
whitney: I know.
Fox: An angry king cobra's got nothing on her. She's, uh, well --
theresa: Well, you know, she can rant and rave, ok, all she wants, and julian -- well, for all I care, he can do that, too, but, you know, the truth is, whether they like it or not, they've lost little ethan. He is back with me, where he should be.
Whitney: Um, did I just hear right? Did theresa say that thinks she has little ethan back for good now?
Fox: Yeah. You know, I tell you what, theresa may have convinced herself that she's got little ethan back for good, but back here on planet earth, in the real world, where the rest of us live, we know that's not the case. You know, rebecca was like a bull seeing red out there today. She's going to make sure that my dad gets little ethan back as soon as the holidays are over.
Whitney: Well, we definitely should tell theresa she's living in a fantasy world, but, my god, she's so happy right now. I mean, I just don't have the heart to burst her bubble.
Fox: No, I know it. You know, we'll just -- just let her enjoy what little time she has left with the little guy, ok?
[Little ethan giggles]
Theresa: I gotcha! I gotcha!
Father lonigan: The birth of our savior is cause for celebration in all creatures, great and small. God bless you, precious. God bless you and keep you.
Julian: I don't need the grinch to steal christmas. I have rebecca.
Julian: What's wrong? Why are you crying?
Eve: Oh. I'm not, really. I'm just thinking about our -- about our son. Just wondering where he is, if he's well and happy and loved.
Julian: I hope the same thing.
Eve: Well, it would be a miracle if we found him, but miracles do happen. Sheridan is in there right now nursing luis and beth's baby.
Julian: What? Why?
Eve: Oh, well, the baby was malnourished and dehydrated. It couldn't absorb formula and beth couldn't nurse, and sheridan can, so -- well, sheridan's saving the baby l life, and in a sense she's saving her own at the same time.
Julian: That's incredible. I mean, I'm truly at a loss for words.
Eve: Well, miracles tend to do that to us. And they also give us hope. Guess I was hoping that maybe we'd have our own christmas miracle and we'd find our little boy.
Julian: I promise you, you'll have that miracle. As god is my witness, I will find our son in the coming year, no matter what it takes.
Eve: Oh, julian.
Sheridan: It's ok, mommy's here now. Mommy's going to make sure that you are happy, healthy, and strong.
Charity: I'm so glad to hear luis' baby's ok.
Miguel: Me, too. I was really worried. Kay, what's wrong?
Kay: It's just such a miracle, just like the miracle that saved our baby's life. I can't imagine if anything happened to maria, if we would've lost her. This would've been such a sad and bleak christmas.
Miguel: But it isn't, ok? Maria's fine, you know, and now we're going to have our first christmas together with our baby.
Kay: Our first christmas with -- with our baby.
Gwen: Oh, I'm glad to see sheridan so happy.
Ethan: Me, too. We've both been so worried about her.
Gwen: I'd love to go over and say hi, but I don't want to interrupt their special moment. Honey, I'm going to go light a candle and say a prayer for sarah, ok?
Ethan: This is little ethan'S. He must've dropped it when theresa took him home. He loves this bear.
Mrs. Wallace: Mum is the word, right, beth? I mean, you certainly can't be raising a stink about sheridan nursing that baby when it is the very thing that's going to save that baby's life.
Beth: Shut up.
Mrs. Wallace: You listen up -- that baby needs its mother. That baby needs its mother's milk to live. You were killing him. Sheridan gave him life. Now she's going to save his life, not you.
Beth: Damn it, mother, I said shut up.
Mrs. Wallace: Do you want that baby to die?
Beth: No. Of course not. I really do love that baby. And I want him to be ok. I want him to live.
Mrs. Wallace: Then you get over yourself. You deal with what is happening and be glad about it. Would you please be glad about it? Look, sheridan's giving that baby its one chance it has at life.
Beth: I know. But look at them. She's bonding with the baby. How can I compete with that?
Mrs. Wallace: Oh, that's obvious.
You can'T. Look, beth. Look. We are seeing god's christmas gift to sheridan, luis, and that baby, bonding them closer together as the family they really are. Huh?
tabitha: Oh, I -- I -- I have got some wood that needs chopping! I'll even pay you!
Norma: Forget it! I've waited a long time to do you in, and in I'm going to do you! Ah! Oh. I want to savor every bit of this. Or should I say every bit of you after I chop you to pieces!
Tabitha: Oh, endora! Help me! Wake up!
Norma: No one can help you now, tabitha. Go in pieces. Ah! Ow! What the -- whoa!
Tabitha: That's a girl, endora! Give santa the old heave-ho-ho-ho!
Norma: Whoa! Oh!
Tabitha: See you later, santa. And to all a good night!
Norma: I'll get you, tabby! So help me, I'll get you yet!
Reese: About seeing santa -- ahem -- flying up in the sky over tabitha's house just now? I didn't see that. Did you?
John: I didn't see a thing.
Reese: So this conversation never happened, did it?
John: What conversation?
Fox: Ok, whitney.
Fox: So we agree then, right? We're not going to bring theresa down or risk her flipping out by telling her that my loving father's probably going to come over and take little ethan as soon as christmas is over, right?
Whitney: Yeah, that's right.
Whitney: But you know what, why don't I go make us some hot chocolate, because I don't think theresa's going to want to go to bed anytime soon.
Fox: All right.
Whitney: Sound good?
Whitney: Ok. It's getting kind of hot in here. I'll let in some fresh air.
Theresa: Um, u know, what you did, giving me my son back for christmas, has made this the best one ever. Thank you.
Fox: You're welcome.
Theresa: I don't know what I would do without you. You've been such an incredible help to me.
Fox: You know, you and little ethan are really important to me, so I just want to make sure you two are happy.
Theresa: Thanks. You know, uh, I thought that ethan cared about me, but I was wrong. I'm never going to forgive him for turning his back on me and little ethan like this.
Gwen: I wonder where ethan disappeared to.
Rebecca: Well, maybe he went with julian to get the car. I mean, can you imagine giving the help the night off just because it's christmas eve? I mean, the next thing you know, he's going to give them a pay raise so they make minimum wage. I mean, what's wrong with my pookie, gwen? I mean, he's just gone so soft. Well, one thing he's not going to go soft on is getting complete and permanent custody of little ethan.
Gwen: I said a special prayer for sarah tonight, let her know how much I love her and miss her.
Rebecca: Oh, honey. Oh, it breaks my heart that theresa is here with little ethan for christmas, and all you have is a hole in your heart because that girl caused you to lose your baby, the little witch.
Gwen: Well, look, I'm not happy that theresa has little ethan for the holiday, either, but I certainly didn't want to look like a monster to ethan by keeping his godson from having a day with his mother. Mom, little ethan should not have to suffer because of theresa.
Rebecca: Well, all I care about is that theresa pay for the hell she's put you through, and pay she will. I am going to make sure that she never sees her son again. Consider it a christmas presen for us both.
Gwen: Mother! Are you all right?
Gwen: Oh, mother. You all right?
Rebecca: Oh --
eve: How on earth did rebecca end up buried in the snow?
Julian: I have no idea. But at the risk of sounding sacrilegious, perhaps god is giving us an early miracle.
Gwen: Oh, my goodness.
Rebecca: Oh. Oh.
Miguel: You all right, charity?
Charity: Yeah. It's really, um, nice to see something good happen for a change. I've sensed so much pain and misery lately, I was beginning to think that there was no happiness left.
Miguel: We're always going to have happiness, all right, as long as we have our love and each other. Nothing's ever going to take that away.
Kay's voice: We'll just see about that.
Pilar: Antonio, mijo, not now. Just be grateful that sheridan is feeling much better. Look at her. She's smiling and happy again.
Antonio: Mama, I am grateful that sheridan's happy. I love her more than anything. I'm not ever going to stop loving her, luis or no luis.
Sheridan: Luis, this is the best christmas ever. I'm just so happy, so filled with love. I just wish everyone on earth could feel the joy that I feel right now.
Luis: I love you. I love you, sheridan, so much.
Mrs. Wallace: You have got to give it up, missy. That baby knows that sheridan is his mother. They have bonded, just like luis and sheridan. So you can't break them apart, no matter how hard you try.
Mrs. Wallace: Let luis and sheridan have the baby. Let them be a family together.
Beth: No. Never. Because luis and that baby, they belong to me. And no one, especially sheridan, is ever going to take them from me.
Mrs. Wallace: Hmm. Looks to me, missy, you're too late for that.
Rebecca: We've got her now, pookie. With ethan on our side, theresa doesn't have a chance in hell of keeping that child.
Tabitha: I think she's ill.
Kay: What? What's wrong with my baby?
Luis: I just hope that sheridan can take it when she finds out that that baby's really beth'S.
