Passions Transcript Tuesday 10/29/02
Eve: Liz? What are you doing here?
Liz: Isn't it obvious, eve? I'm here to destroy you.
Eve: I told you to go away. You're not welcome here.
Liz: Do you think I care what you told me? T.C. Wants me here, so here I am. And what better place to destroy a person than in the privacy of their own home when they are surrounded by the people they love the most. I can'wawait to expose you to your husband and your daughters and show them what a lying slut you really are.
Ivy: It's me, ivy. It's time to make your move, david.
Ivy: Your beloved grace is home, alone.
David: Yeah, I see her.
Ivy: What's she doing?
David: Well, she's pacing back and forth, doesn't look too happy.
Ivy: Aw. She needs a big, burly shoulder to cry on. Why don't you go cheer her up, david, while I do the same with sam.
David: It's a little late for a house call, don't you think?
Ivy: When it comes it to love, idoesn't matter what time it is. Now, hurry up, or you'll miss your chance.
Sam: Ivy? How long you been here?
Ivy: Long enough to tell you could use a friend.
Theresa: Please, God, let ethan and me be together. He still loves me. I know that he does. Please let him choose me over gwen. Please.
Whitney: Theresa? Honey, what's going on?
Theresa: I'm praying.
Whitney: I can see that.
Theresa: You know, I might have a chance with ethan if God will just give me a helping hand.
Gwen: So, is there anything you needed to ask me before we go? Anything at all?
Ethan: Yes. There is something I want to ask you, gwen.
Luis: You know, it's been rough holding on to the hope that sheridan would come back and then having her come back and reliving all the joy and love of our relationship and, you know, thinking that we were going to be together forever and then having her choose to be with someone else and, you know, my brother being that person, of all people -- you know, it's about as rough as it gets. But, hey, you know, I'm going to live through it.
Beth: You're going to do better than that.
Luis: Yeah. Still, it feels like my heart's been torn out.
Beth: Luis, I'm so sorry. I had no idea antonio and sheridan would be here. Come on, let's leave right now.
Luis: No, no, no, forget it. All right, we'll stay.
Antonio: Luis and beth are here.
Sheridan: Yes. I see.
Antonio: Well, let's ask them to join us. Sheridan, what is it?
Antonio: Why wouldn't you want luis and beth to join us?
Sheridan: I'm sure they would rather be alone. Just like we do.
Antonio: Well, that may be the case, but it would be kind of rude if we didn't go say hello. And besides, I'm still feeling a little guilty, you know, about thinking that you and luis were in love. You're not mad at me autut that, are you?
Sheridan: No, no, not at all.
Antonio: Well, if you are concerned about my medical condition, don't be, ok? Because I'm going to be absolutely fine. And I can't ignore my brother and his fiancee.
Beth: Come on, luis, let's just go.
Luis: No. Harmony isn't a big town. Besides, antonio is my brother and I just got to get used to seeing those two together anyway, ok?
Beth: I owe you an apology.
Beth: Because when you told me that antonio and sheridan had gotten back together, I didn't even believe you. But, well, seeing them together now, so loving and so close, it's obvious they're a genuine couple. I just can't believe I didn't notice it before.
Luis: Well, it is obvious, isn't it?
Beth: I'm really sorry.
Gwen: What is it you needed to ask me, ethan? You know you can ask me anything.
Theresa: You can't do this, ethan. You can't marry gwen. I love you. And I know that you love me.
Ethan: Theresa, you keep talking about love, but you can't have love without trust. And everything you've done -- I can't trust you anymore. You've lied to me over and over again.
Gwen: Well? What is it that you wanted to ask me?
Ethan: Gwen, will you -- will you have dinner with me?
Gwen: Sure. Of course. Where do you want to go?
Gwen: Ok, you're on.
Ethan: I would take you out someplace, but I'm pretty worn out from all that's gone on today.
Gwen: Of course you are. I understand. Well, let's go. That's it -- of course, at home. When it's just the two of us, he'll propose at home. How romantic.
Whitney: Honey, you must be freezing.
Theresa: No, I'm fine, whitney, because I still have hope.
Whitney: Here, sit down.
Theresa: I just -- I thought if there was one chance in a million that ethan would see reason, he'd realize that he and I are meant to be together. I asked God to help me, though I'm not so su h he's hearing my prayers because I've done so many bad things.
Whitney: Honey, don't you dare give up hope, all right? I mean, look at me and chad. We're back together. We've overcome so much. So I know there's still hope for you and ethan.
Theresa: I don't know, whitney. You and chad being together -- well, th was kind of a miracle. I don't think there are any miracles left for ethan and me.
Ivy: You're thinking about grace, aren't you?
Ivy: Don't deny it, sam. I can tell by your face how sad you are, and my heart aches for you to have lost the woman you love to another man.
Sam: I have not lost her! I'll never lose grace -- never.
David: Sorry to disappoint you, grace.
Grace: No, david, don't apologize. It's just --
david: Sam hasn't come home.
Grace: Yeah. I can't find him anywhere. I called the station house. Apparently, he didn't tell them where he was going. And I'm just getting really worried.
David: Well, he did see us together, so, I mean --
David: I understand why he's upset.
Grace: That's why I'm worried.
David: Lo,h, I'll stay here with you and I'll explain it to him when he gets back.
Grace: Explain it to him? How can you explain us being intimate when I don't even understand it myself?
Eve: Why are you doing this to me?
Liz: I think it's called giving you a taste of your own medicine, eve. Not very pleasant, is it?
Liz: Hello, T.C.
T.C.: Well, what are you doing here? Eve said you changed your mind about staying with us.
Liz: She did?
T.C.: Yeah. Sweetheart, why did you tell me that she changed her mind? Around oyen, alberta.
T.C.: Honey, why did you tell me that liz isn't staying with us?
Eve: Because I thght she wasn'T.
Liz: You know, T.C., I -- I did change my mind. I really didn't want to impose on you folks, but you were right, T.C. I tried my hardest to find a hotel room, but there was not a single one to be had anywhere near harmony.
T.C.: See? I told you. Autumn in new england.
Liz: So if I promise to stay t t of your hair, may I please take you up on your offer?
T.C.: Absolutely. The garage apartment's all yours.
Liz: Great. You know, it won't take me long to do what I need to do here in harmony. Not long at all.
Antonio: Hey, luis.
Luis: Hey, brother. How you doing? Sheridan.
Sheridan: Hello, luis.
Antonio: How you doing, beth?
Beth: I'm good. How are you?
Antonio: Good. We didn't expect to see you guys here.
Beth: Yeah, it was sort of last-minute.
Antonio: Yeah, us, too. But since we're all here together, we thought you'd like to join us.
Beth: No. No.
Luis: No. I'm sure you guys just want to be alone.
Antonio: Well, actually, we do. But since you guys were here, we thought we'd ask. Thanks for understanding.
Antonio: You know, we're two lucky men to have such beautiful women, be so much in love. I'll tell you what. You guys have a nice dinner, ok?
Luis: All right.
David: Listen, I don't know if I can explain what's -- what's going on between us, but I'm willing to give it a try. I'll tell sam that what he saw happening between you and me at the crane building was -- was just two people caught up in the heat of the moment.
Grace: Caught up in --
david: Yeah, you know, you thought I was going to die, and it awoke our old marital bonds, even though you don't remember them, and -- and you leaped to save me. He'll understand that, won't he?
Grace: I don't know. But you know what? I -- I don't know anything anymore. I -- I think that maybe you shouldn't even be here because if sam comes home and he finds you here, I think that he'd just --
david: You know what? You know what? I don't care what sam thinks or does. I'm not going to leave you alone when you're this upset. Come here.
Ivy: I didn't mean to upset you, sam.
Sam: Look, I don't want to get into this with you again, ok? Look, this whole thing -- it -- I don't know.
Ivy: Sam, the last thing I want to do is upset you. I just -- I just want to make you feel better.
Sam: Look, I got to go find grace.
Ivy: Sam, why? You heard grace tell david she loves him. Why subject yourself to more pain?
Sam: We've been through this.
Ivy: Well, I still don't understand it.
Sam: Grace is my wife. I love her. Look, I want to work things out.
Ivy: All you'll get is grief. You saw grace embracing david.
Sam: Look, I am positive that grace was just being kind.
Ivy: I'll give you accommodating, sam, but kind?
Sam: You know, it's so typical of grace. You know, she -- she's such a good person.
Ivy: Yeah, she's good, all right, just ask david.
Sam: I know in my heart that grace still loves me.
Ivy: Well, I wish that were true, sam, but I think you're deluding yourself. I thinyou're making excuses for grace.
Sam: No. No, no -- no, I'm not. All right? I know my wife. I know that she still loves me.
Ivy: Well, I hate to say this, but I think that grace is alone with david right now.
Sam: Grace would never do that to me.
Ivy: Good. He should arrive home just in time to see his wife embracing another man.
Rebecca: Oh, there. Nothing is too good for my daughter's engagement announcement.
[Door opens and closes]
Rebecca: There you are. Oh, congratulations. Oh, I am so happy for both of you.
Ethan: What's the party for?
Rebecca: Well, to celebrate your good news, of course.
Ethan: What news? | Tb
Rebecca: Oh. Well, I thought --
ethan: Thought what?
Gwen: I am sure that my mother means you getting out of the hospital after such a close call today.
Rebecca: Well, yes, of course. I mean, what else would you call, you know, being electrocuted and then falling down an elevator shaft and landing on a doomed elevator? You really are very fortunate, ethan.
Ethan: I'm the luckiest man alive.
Rebecca: , , And I know gwen thinks she's a very lucky woman.
Gwen: It's a very happy time for both of us.
Rebecca: Well, I'm so glad.
Ethan: Well, if you ladies will excuse me, I have some phone calls I have to return.
Rebecca: So, what happened? Why aren't you engaged?
Gwen: Ethan just -- he didn't ask me to marry him.
Rebecca: Well, why not? Well, did that little slut theresa interfere again?
Whitney: Look, I don't want to hear any talk about God not listening to your prayers. He listens to everyone. And he does answer prayers.
Theresa: He may have answered your prayer, whit, but --
whitney: Honey, you might not get what you want, but he'll never ignore you.
Theresa: Well, I guess I got the answer, whitney. Apparently, God doesn't like women who try to take another woman's man.
Antonio: I can tell something's still bothering you, but I know exactly how to make it right.
Sheridan: What do you mean?
Antonio: I am going to show you beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am not jealous of you and luis.
Sheridan: Ok, antonio, you don't have to prove anything.
Antonio: Yes, I do. Luis.
Antonio: Can I dance with your beautiful fiancee?
Sheridan: Uh -- I'm sure they would rather be alone.
Antonio: We're brothers. Hey, you can't say no. And besis,s, I'd like to get to know my future sister-in-law a little bit better, and I'm sure that you'd like to get to know sheridan a little better, too. So what do you say? We're all going to be one big, happy family.
Luis: Yeah. Happy.
Singer: You are my passion for life
Beth: Hey, what do you say we finish this dance and go back to our partners?
Antonio: Oh, I'm that bad of a dancer, huh?
Beth: Uh-huh. No, I just -- I know you want to be with sheridan, so --
antonio: You know, sheridan told me the truth.
Beth: About what?
Antonio: About the secret everyone was keeping from me.
Beth: She did?
Antonio: Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I know I'm sick, and I'm ok with that.
Antonio: It's just a lot better when people are truthful with you, and now I don't walk into the room and everybody just gets quiet all of a sudden.
Beth: Well, yeah. I mean, we hated keeping you in the dark about it.
Antonio: No, you were just doing what you thought was best.
Beth: Medical science is always coming with new cures. Maybe they'll --
antonio: Yeah, maybe they'll come up with a cure for what I've got. But, God forbid something happens to me, I was just going to ask that you and luis look out for sheridan.
Sheridan: So, you and beth are together now.
Luis: No, we're just friends. Well, we'll always be good friends.
Sheridan: Well, you and I have really different ideas of "just friends" means.
Gwen: I don'think theresa had anything to do with ethan not asking me to marry him.
Rebecca: Well, then what happened? I mean, you're not fighting, are you? Because this is no time to fight with ethan. There is plenty of time for that after you're married. Just ask your father.
Gwen: No, mother, nothing happened between ethan and me. He -- he just didn't propose, that's all.
Rebecca: "All"? Well, wh c could have stopped him?
Gwen: Well, the location may have had something to do with it. I mean, a cubicle in the E.R. Is hardly what I would call romantic.
Rebecca: That's right. That could be it. I mean, you said ethan would want to have a perfect place to propose.
Gwen: Yes, and he asked me to come home tonight and have dinner with him, so I think he's just waiting for the right moment.
Rebecca: You're right. That's it. The right moment. Ethan is a romantic. So I am going to get out of here so he can get in the mood. Oh, ethan -- ethan, you have been through such a terrible ordeal. Come here. Why don't you just sit down, huh? You sit right here and relax. Now, gwen, why don't you pour ethan some champagne that I just happ t to have chilling there --
gwen: Coming right up.
Rebecca: So that you can celebrate ethan being alive and well in the proper way. Oh, and why don't you light a candle, too, ok? Because I'm sure the hospital lights have just been a little hard on ethan's eyes.
Gwen: Ok, that's a good idea.
Rebecca: Yeah, well, you two have a lovely evening.
Ethan: Aren't you going to join us?
Rebecca: Uh -- oh, my. Oh, gosh, I am just exhausted. And even though it doesn't show, I'm in desperate need of my beauty sleep. So I'll leave you to yourselves.
Gwen: Ok. See you in the morning, mother.
Rebecca: Yes, tomorrow is another day.
Ethan: Why diyoyou do that?
Rebecca: Uh -- what?
Ethan: You just turned down the lights.
Rebecca: Oh, well, just because we live in a mansion doesn't mean we should be wasteful. I mean, there are actually people in this great country of ours who don't have servants to turn the lights off for them.
David: What's wrong?
Grace: I shouldn't do this. It's just not right.
David: Why not?
Grace: David, I told you, I love sam. And it's just not right of me to take advantage of you like this.
David: You're not taking advantage of me. I'm a big boy. I just want to be here for you. You're so beautiful.
Grace: God help me. Look -- david, I do have -- I have feelings for you, but you have to understand that my heart belongs to sam.
David: I do unrsrstand that, grace. I do. But why should that prevent me from being here with you when you're in a time of need, huh?
Grace: You know, I am just so confused. I know that I am legally married to you, but in my heart, I -- I feel like I'm married to sam.
Sam: I don't believe this.
Ivy: I told you david would be here with grace.
Sam: She's in his arms.
Ivy: Why can't you accept that grace has chosen david over you?
T.C.: You know, having you stay in our garage apartment is good for us. It's better when somebody is staying there. So I'll tell you what, guys -- let's drink to our new guest.
Liz: Oh, that's really nice, T.C., But nothing with alcohol in it for me. I would really love a cup of tea. Would it be too much trouble to ask you to get one for me, eve?
Eve: No. No, it wouldn't be any trouble at all.
Liz: Thank you. And while you're doing it, T.C. And I will just get better acquainted.
Eve: What is that woman up to now?
Liz: What a beautiful family you have, T.C.
T.C.: Thank you.
Liz: What's this?
T.C.: Oh, that's our wedding album.
Liz: Can I take a look? I am a sucker for wedding pictures.
T.C.: Liz, help yourself.
Liz: Oh. How fabulous. And these gorgeous flowers. And all these people.
T.C.: Oh, these are my family.
Liz: There must be 50 of them.
T.C.: Well, a lot of them couldn't make it.
Liz: Where's eve's family?
T.C.: Well, when we got married, there was none of eve's family left. Her parents were gone.
Liz: How sad. What about cousins? Aunts? Uncles?
T.C.: Nope, none.
T.C.: Not a soul. Why is that, honey?
T.C.: You know what, sweetheart? I never did quite understand -- why didn't you invite any of your friends or your distant relatives to our wedding?
Eve: Well, like I told you, honey, I didn't have any relatives to invite. I was new in harmony. I just moved here, and I hadn't had a chance to make any new friends, so I just made friends with T.C.'S friends.
Liz: Oh. Sounds like you just completely started over. You know, reinvented yourself.
Eve: Yes. I had to start all over again from scratch.
Liz: Oh. You didn't have anything you were trying to hide from a previous life, did you?
T.C.: My wife? My wife was raised by two maiden aunts. They died years before I met ev b but eve always told me they were so prim and proper. And my wife was as pure as the driven snow. Ain't that right, honey?
Whitney: You shouldn't talk that way, theresa. I mean, God doesn't think in terms of other women. If he did, he might not have answered my prayer.
Theresa: How so?
Whitney: Because in a way, I came between chad and simone. She fell in love with him first.
Theresa: No, you see, chad didn't fall in love with her. You and chad -- you've always been the real couple. Simone was the other woman. But not for long. Because soon you and chad are going to be totally honest with simone and your parents, and then you're going to be together the way you were always meant to. See, my problem is that ethan doesn't want to be with me. And he made that real clear tonight when I was at the hospital and I was telling him exactly what was in my heart and he didn't say anything. He let me walk away. Well, it's late, and I could just stand here all night feeling sorry for myself, but I don't think so. I'm going to check on little ethan.
Whitney: I should be getting home, too.
Sam: My wife.
Ivy: Well, technically, she is still david's wife.
Sam: I still can't believe it.
Ivy: Stop torturing yourself, sam. Why don't you -- why don't you come home with me and let me fix you a drink. We can talk.
Sam: I can't go home with you, ivy. I have to try to talk to grace.
Ivy: Doesn't really look like grace wants to talk to you.
Sam: Look, I have to try.
Ivy: Fine. Fine. I'll -- I'll leave you alone.
Ivy: Darn. Something's wrong with this. It won't mov
sam: Let me take a look.
Beth: So you want luis and me to take care of sheridan if something happens to you? Ok. Yeah, I mean, whatever you want, antonio.
Antonio: The only thing I want right now is to take sheridan home so we can be alone.
Beth: I think that is an excellent idea. You should spend as much time as possible with the woman you love.
Luis: We have a different idea of what being friends is? What the hell does that mean?
Sheridan: Oh, you know exactly what that means.
Luis: No, I don'T.
Sheridan: Well, then too bad, because I don't feel like going into graphic detail.
Luis: Well -- hey.
Beth: Excuse us.
Antonio: Hey, what do you say that you and I go home? I'm a little tired. It's been a long day.
Sheridan: Sure, whatever you want.
Antonio: Ok. I'll go and get the car and bring it around.
Antonio: All right.
Sheridan: What could luis have been trying to tell me about beth and him just being friends?
Luis: Talk about abrupt. I mean, those two just took off without saying a word. Didn't even eat their dinner.
Beth: Antonio had other things on his mind.
Luis: What things? Beth, what are you talking about?
T.C.: Well, liz, we're glad to have you. Now, I'm going to run up to the garage apartment and make sure that chad left it in good shape.
Eve: Get the hell out of my house! I'll tell T.C. That you changed your mind again.
Liz: You would love to make me look like a flake, wouldn't you? But it's not going to happen. I am staying right here and returning a favor from a lifetime ago. I am going to ruin your life just like you ruined mine.
Sam: Well, I can't fix it. You're missing a part.
Sam: You must have lost it on the way over here.
Ivy: , , I hate being in this thing. It's -- it's like I'm a child again, or an old woman, helpless. Well, I guess I'll have to call the house and see if they can send a car for me --
sam: No, no, no, no. Look, I'll take you home. The only reason why you're in this thing is because you tried to help me fix the beacon during hurricane ggggy. If I didn't help you now when you needed it, I couldn't live with myself.
Grace: You know, david, I think I need to be alone.
David: Listen, I -- I don't think this is a good time for you to be alone, grace. I will stay here with you until sam gets back. I will explain to him that whatever he thought he saw as happening between us was just -- was just you comforting me in a time of need.
Grace: You'd do that?
David: I love you, grace. I just want you to be happy.
Grace: David, that's so -- thank you.
Rebecca: Come on, ethan, say those five little words -- "gwen, will you marry me?"
Gwen: To you, ethan, the most wonderful man I know.
Theresa: Well, I'm rich now, so why isn't the house lit up like a christmas tree?
Luis: Beth, finish what you started to tell me. What did antonio have in mind for tonight?
Beth: I don't really want to say.
Luis: Beth, come on. Why shouldn't I know? Please, would you just tell me?
Beth: Well -- um --
Beth: Antonio said that he wanted to take sheridan home and make love to her.
Luis: Oh. Well, that settles it. I was right. I thought that I misunderstood sheridan tell antonio that she loved him, but I hadn'T.
Beth: Luis, I'm so sorry.
Sheridan: Is it possible I was wrong about what luis meant? About what I saw at beth's house earlier? Could it really just be a misunderstanding, like ethan said? Could luis and beth really just be friends?
Maitre d': I was sorry to hear about you and luis breaking up, ms. Crane.
Sheridan: How did you know?
Maitre d': I overheard luis talking to beth, saying the two of you were finished. I'm sorry, again. I'm sorry.
Antonio: Hey. You ready to go home so we can be alone?
Sheridan: Yes. Yes, I'm ready.
Antonio: All right, let's go.
