Episode #12 ~ Who's Watching?

Provided By Gisele

Danielle: Mom. You sure about this? I mean, are you sure this is a good idea for you?

Téa: It's time to move on, sweetheart.

Danielle: It just seems... sudden. I mean, this was kind of like your...

Téa: Shrine? I got to mourn Victor Jr. with his father, which is something I thought I'd never get the chance to do.

Danielle: But... Victor isn't here anymore and I'm... I'm worried, and I just...

Téa: I don't want you to worry about me. I'm the mom. It's my job to worry about you, not the other way around, okay?

David: Vimal.

Vimal: What? What's going on?

David: Do you mind if I ask you several personal questions about your intimate personal life with you and your wife?

Vimal: No. No! No! My life is complicated enough as it is.

David: All right, fine. No camera. We'll treat this as a pre-interview. Talk to me.

Clint: Before you call me crazy, hear me out.

Viki: Paris! Tonight?

Clint: What better place to spend our honeymoon.

Viki: Yes, but the honeymoon usually comes after the wedding.

Clint: You're absolutely right.

Viki: Okay.

Clint: So we'd better get married before we get on the plane.

Viki: Clint, you know that I want to marry you, right?

Clint: Well, then, let's go to City Hall right now.

Viki: No. You are crazy if you think that after waiting this long, I'm gonna settle for some quickie wedding. I'm not. Might as well go to Vegas, get an Elvis impersonator.

Clint: If that's what you want, I'm all in.

Viki: No. I want it to be perfect.

Clint: Perfection is a luxury for the young.

Viki: Oh, I see. I'm old?

Clint: No, no, no, no, no. I just want to know, Viki, what the hell is it we're waiting for?

Matthew: Come on, Michelle. Please call me.

Jack: Why are you here?

Todd: You don't answer your telephone.

Jack: Well, obviously, you didn't get the hint.

Todd: We need to talk about last night.

Jack: No. We don't need to talk about last night 'cause I was there.

Todd: I know. I'm worried about you.

Jack: No, I'm fine.

Todd: Well, you know what? I wish I could believe that, Jack.

Jack: Can you just tell me what you want?

Todd: I just want to thank you for saving my life.

[Telephone rings]

Téa: Hello?

Bo: Delgado, it's the commish. I was wondering if maybe you could swing by my office. I'd like to talk to you about Victor?

Téa: What about Victor?

Bo: Well, there's a good chance that Manning's wild accusations could be true.

Téa: This is just another one of Todd's schemes. Yes, I will be down there as possible.

Danielle: Todd's story is true?

Téa: I am sure there is more to it.

Danielle: Mom, I was thinking --

Téa: Don't waste your time.

Danielle: Then why are you going to talk to Bo?

Téa: To set him straight.

Danielle: Mom, last night when Victor was saying good-bye to us, it was weird. He was weird.

Téa: He was sad to be leaving.

Danielle: No, no, no. It wasn't that. It was like he was hiding something.

Téa: He has a lot on his mind right now.

Danielle: Yeah, like killing Todd.

Téa: Victor would never do anything to jeopardize the opportunity to be with us again.

[Cell phone rings]

Matthew: Hello.

Michelle: It's Michelle.

Matthew: Hey.

Michelle: Hey.

Matthew: Hey, uh, how -- how are you.

Michelle: Good. [Chuckles]

Matthew: [Laughs awkwardly]

Michelle: You don't have to be nervous.

Matthew: No, no, no, no. I'm not nervous. It's just good to finally hear your voice?

Michelle: Really.

Matthew: Yeah. You -- you sound sexy.

Michelle: [Laughs] Do I?

Matthew: Yeah. Wait, are you?

Michelle: I don't know. You might be a better judge.

Matthew: Probably. Um, you know, I actually -- this may sound a little weird, but I feel like we have this connection, you know?

Michelle: Me, too.

Matthew: Cool. That's really good. I don't have to prove to you I'm not a stalker.

Michelle: [Laughs]

Destiny: Well, are you sure you're okay for a couple of hours?

Nora: I'm gonna be fine. Of course, I am. He's napping, and I can work on this brief just as easily here at home as I can in the office.

Destiny: I never thought that I'd be excited for an afternoon of grocery shopping and a doctor's appointment.

Nora: Oh, wait. Wait a second. I-I have something for you. I couldn't resist.

Destiny: This store is really expensive.

Nora: Yeah, well, spoiling my grandson is one of my pleasures in life, and I couldn't help myself. And this is for you.

Destiny: Oh. Oh, Nora. You really shouldn't have. It makes me feel like a charity case.

Nora: Oh, honey, that wasn't my intention.

Destiny: I know. I'm sorry, but I can't accept that.

Viki: We are waiting for our family and our friends, Bo, and Nora, and Jess, and all the people who want to be part of our day. Besides, they would kiss us if we ran off and eloped.

Clint: So, when we get back, we throw a big shindig.

Viki: Why the sudden rush?

Clint: Sudden? I've been shackled to this house for over a year. I've been a prisoner in the Lord library, and you -- you have been losing sleep over The Banner.

Viki: I know. That's why this is a bad time.

Clint: When is it ever a good time? There's always something to worry about. That's why we have to look at this in a different way.

Viki: What way would that be?

Clint: Well, why we can get married instead of why we can't. Do you know what I'm good at. Other than that. [Laughter] I'm really good at solving problems, so hit me with whatever you got.

Viki: We need a license.

Clint: I called City Hall. We have until 5 p.m.

Viki: We need a witness.

Clint: That's why God gave me Nigel.

Viki: I have nothing to wear.

Clint: You have never looked more beautiful than you do right now.

Viki: Flow...ers. [Laughs]

Clint: And you don't have to pack because, when we get to Paris, we get in a limo, we go right to the Ritz, where I have lined up a personal shopper.

Viki: You're kidding.

Clint: No.

Viki: Okay. There are probably a million reasons to say no to this, right? But I'm guessing you have an answer to all of them.

Clint: [Laughs] What I just heard -- is it what I think it is?

Viki: A personal shopper?

Clint: Yeah.

Viki: Yes, that pushed me right over the edge. Yes, I will marry you tonight. Oh.

Clint: [Laughs]

Viki: Oh.

Todd: Where is everybody?

Jack: Mom's at work. Sam's at soccer.

Todd: What about Dorian

Jack: I don't know. I have no idea.

Todd: You're here alone?

Jack: For about the past six years of my life, yes. I thought you were here to talk about me.

Todd: I am. [Clears throat] You found me. It must have been very difficult for you.

Jack: You were lying on the floor. I didn't know if you were breathing.

Todd: You called 911.

Jack: I wasn't just going to leave you there.

Todd: Given how you feel about me, I don't think anybody would have blamed you.

Jack: Sounds like something you would do?

Todd: Is that really what you think of me?

Jack: I don't know what I think about you. I barely know you.

Todd: Okay. Well, let me introduce myself. I'm the kind of guy that would go to a guy like Victor and try and make peace with him, and I thought we had an arrangement.

Jack: So did he.

Todd: Well, I guess he changed his mind.

Jack: You know, it's convenient, isn't it? He's not here to tell his side of the story again.

Todd: Listen, I'm here, and he's not. And I give a shit about how you're feeling, and I give a shit about you, so just get used to it, Jack.

Natalie: Hey.

Bo: Hi.

Natalie: Got the ME report. The body they recovered in the river last night -- looks like our drowning's upgraded to a homicide.

Bo: So, he was dead when he hit the water?

Natalie: Yes. COD is hypoxia from strangulation.

Bo: Who was this guy?

Natalie: I don't know. Still a John Doe. No fingerprints, no records, but take a look at this.

Bo: Mm.

Natalie: Maybe it'll help.

Bo: You recognize it?

Natalie: No.

Bo: All right, I'll put some people on it. Did they estimate a time of death?

Natalie: Yeah. Between six and seven days.

Bo: Okay, we'll start a canvass, see if anybody heard or saw anything.

Natalie: All right. On the Todd Manning case, did you tell Téa about the arsenic?

Téa: Yes, he did. And I'm here to tell you that Victor had nothing to do with it.

Natalie: Um, I'm just gonna let you two talk.

Bo: Um, wait.

Téa: Why do you have a picture of Victor's arm?

Jack: How can I believe it when I don't buy it? That you tried to make up with Victor or that he tried to kill you?

Todd: Jack, you found me on the floor. Do you think I would do something like this to myself? All right, let me tell you something. When I was your age --

Jack: I don't want to hear any stories about how you were just like me.

Todd: Well, you're gonna. When I was your age, the man who I thought was my father told me that I was a disgrace, that he wished I'd never been born, and then he took off, and I never saw him again.

Jack: Well, guess what? That'll never happen to me because I have a great father. His name is Victor.

Todd: That will never happen to you because you're a good kid.

Jack: Because of Victor. You know he's coming back.

Todd: I hope so.

Jack: Right.

Todd: I love you, Jack. And I hate that we had all of this time apart, but if you can't accept me --

Jack: The only reason I came to your hotel room was to tell you I destroyed that stupid computer you gave me and to stay out of my life.

Todd: Whoa. You didn't let me die. That counts for something.

Jack: I wish I had.

Nora: Of course, I understand. I just wanted to do something nice for you.

Destiny: I know. You and Bo have been so great, and I really appreciate it. I just -- I have to stand on my own two feet.

Nora: Oh, my God. You've been doing a remarkable job with that. I don't know how you keep it up. I really don't.

Destiny: My parents worked hard to support me, and I want to do the same for Drew.

Nora: Okay. Just know that Bo and I are just as worried about you as your parents are, okay?

Destiny: Yeah. They're finally retired, and I want them to enjoy themselves, not spend all their extra money on me. They've done that my whole life.

Nora: Well, that was their choice.

Destiny: This is mine. Please respect that.

Nora: Of course, I do. I just... honey, I don't want you to feel alone, okay? Remember, we're your family, okay?

Destiny: Okay. [Laughs]

Nora: [Laughs]

Matthew: All right, later.

Danielle: Wow. A phone call? Looks like things are getting serious between you two.

Matthew: Yeah. She's really great.

Danielle: That's great. Good for you.

Matthew: All right, what's the matter?

Danielle: Nothing.

Matthew: Nothing. Really? Nothing's the matter?

Danielle: What? What, are you suddenly Mr. Sensitive now that you have a new girlfriend?

Matthew: As a matter of fact, I was just told that I'm a good listener.

Danielle: Yeah, well, that's because she hasn't met you yet.

Matthew: Come on. Let me put my new skills to practice, okay? I know you went out to go see our mom, and you came back, and you were wigging out. So tell me what happened.

Danielle: Nothing happened... except that I think my dads are trying to kill each other... again.

Vimal: Have you heard of, um, open marriage?

David: And Three-ways and key parties. I'm a child of the '70s.

Vimal: My wife wants one.

David: What? How'd you hit the jackpot?

Vimal: I hate it.

Cutter: Hey, did you guys see Rama? I need to talk to her about switching a shift.

Vimal: You see her more than I do.

David: Are you with Rama, too, Cutter?

Vimal: Are you?

Cutter: What? No, no!

David: Oh, I thought maybe you might be part of this whole bed-hopping deal.

Cutter: I'm sorry, what deal?

David: Vimal and Rama have an open marriage?

Cutter: Really?

Vimal: Don't get any ideas!

David: Vimal isn't happy with the arrangement.

Cutter: Vim, free pass to date any girl you want. What, are you nuts?

Vimal: I can't imagine Rama being with anybody else. I can't stand it.

David: Well, the best way to get your mind off things...

Cutter: Get busy yourself.

Vimal: No. No, no. I don't want to be with anybody else. Rama's the only person I've ever been with -- wanted.

Cutter: The only one?

David: You owe it to her to get out there.

Cutter: Vim, seriously. You need some experience. You don't get on the all-star team by playing with only one coach.

David: He's right. Besides, the surefire way to get a woman is to have her see you with someone else.

Vimal: Really? Do you think that could work?

Cutter: Like bees to honey, buddy.

Natalie: What do you mean, Victor's arm?

Téa: This is the tattoo that Victor has on his arm.

Bo: Do you know where he got it?

Téa: Why do you have this photo, Bo?

Bo: That's from a body that we pulled out of the river?

Téa: A body?

Bo: Yeah, but it's not Victor's.

Téa: [Sighs]

Natalie: But you're saying that Victor has the same tattoo?

Téa: Yes, on the inside of his left wrist. I mean, he wouldn't tell me anything more about it. He got it when he was held and being tortured.

Bo: Do you know anything about the people that held him?

Téa: No, he wouldn't tell me anything. Do you know what this symbolizes? I mean, where it's from?

Bo: No, but if Victor has that same tattoo, then maybe there's a connection between him and the body.

Téa: Do you think that the guy you pulled from the river was after Victor?

Bo: Or Victor was after him.

Natalie: [Clears throat] We have DNA evidence from underneath the victim's fingernails. We could have it tested, and see if it matches Victor's.

Téa: Victor didn't kill anyone!

Bo: All right, Téa, but Victor must have left something behind that we could get a sample from? Wouldn't you like to figure out what Victor was all caught up in?

Natalie: I'll go with you right now and get the sample.

Téa: There's no need. I have his handkerchief right here. Use this.

Clint: Viki, we have 30 minutes to get our license.

Viki: Oh, I love Paris in the springtime.

Jack: Aunt Viki?

Viki: Jack.

Jack: Could I talk to you?

Viki: It sounds serious, honey.

Jack: It's about my dad.

Clint: We'll do all this tomorrow.

Viki: Clint. Thank you. [Smooches] Jack, do you want to sit?

Jack: Todd said Dad tried to strangle him.

Viki: He told you that?

Jack: Yeah, and I told him I didn't believe it, but...

Viki: But, what? What is it?

Jack: Why are they like this?

Viki: Oh, honey, I don't know. I so wish it were different.

Jack: It sucks!

Viki: I know. I know it sucks. No argument there.

Jack: What if it's in my DNA?

Viki: You know, Jack, I have a theory about DNA, okay? I think we're all born with a whole lot of stuff, and most of it's good, and some of it's not so good, but we get to decide what we keep and what we throw away.

Jack: But what if there's nothing good left once we get rid of all the bad stuff?

Viki: Oh, no, no. That's impossible. Honey, I don't know exactly what happened between Todd and Victor last night, but I know that they are both trying very hard to work things out for your sake.

Jack: Do you really believe that?

Viki: Yes, I really believe that. I know you don't believe it, but Todd loves you. He really loves you, and he's told me he will do whatever it takes to make things right with you. I really believe it.

Nora: I just had to show you this. My favorite box. [Laughs] Ready?

Destiny: [Laughs] Oh, my God. Matthew did not wear that.

Nora: He wore this every day for two months. I had to wash it at night, because he would cry in the morning until I put it on him.

Destiny: How did you get him to take it off?

Nora: Oh, it actually was rather simple.

Destiny: Uh-huh.

Nora: This... [Laughs]

Destiny: Oh, my God.

Nora: Isn't that adorable?

Destiny: I cannot wait to give him shit over that.

Nora: No, no, no. No, you can't. You cannot say a word to him. He'll kill me.

Destiny: This is too good to pass up.

Nora: No. Look.

[Laughter]

Destiny: And who's this?

Nora: Oh, that's Baby S. Matthew slept with this bear every day for five years.

Destiny: That's going to be me, isn't it? Looking through a box of Drew's things. I can't wrap my head around it.

Nora: You will. Every time I look at Drew, I think about that little boy who wanted to wear his cowboy boots in the bathtub. [Chuckles] So cute.

Destiny: I will take these things. I have a feeling Drew is going to love them.

Nora: Oh, yes. There.

Destiny: Oh. Thank you.

Nora: I'm sorry if I come on too strong.

Destiny: No, no. You do so much, and I'm so grateful. I just -- I need to do this mom thing my way.

Nora: I wish Matthew was a part of it.

Destiny: Me, too, but we both have to accept that it's not what he wants.

Matthew: So, you think Victor tried to kill Todd?

Danielle: [Groans] [Sighs] Victor was really weird last night. In fact, he was just kind of really weird the entire time that he was back. Why can't my parents be normal?

Matthew: What, like us?

Danielle: No, that's -- that's different.

Matthew: Not really.

Danielle: What are you -- what are you saying?

Matthew: You don't mean to OD, right?

Danielle: No, I didn't mean to OD, Matthew. I told you I didn't mean to OD.

Matthew: I know, I know. And I've done stupid stuff that I didn't mean to do, right?

Danielle: Okay. But... what if Victor did it on purpose?

Matthew: Who knows why he did it, or even if he did it? Sometimes, we get caught up in the moment, you know. And it's like something takes over, and feelings are strong, and we don't think, we just do. Right?

Danielle: Yeah.

Matthew: And sometimes the stuff that we do is stupid, and it ends up hurting people we'd never want to hurt in a million years.

Danielle: Yeah. Did you take some sensitive pills, or what is this?

Matthew: It's the peanut butter.

Danielle: [Laughs] Jerk.

Matthew: [Sighs]

Natalie: We got the results.

Téa: And?

Natalie: It's a match.

Téa: Victor killed this man?

Natalie: That's what the evidence says.

Téa: Listen, if he did kill this guy, it was in self-defense, okay? There were people after him, all right?. He was going through hell, Natalie.

Natalie: I get it.

Téa: Did you call Bo?

Natalie: Not yet. You know this adds weight to Todd's story that Victor was poisoning him?

Téa: I don't see how the two are related.

Natalie: If Victor killed once?

Téa: I'm telling you, it was in self-defense.

Natalie: I know. I'm sorry. Téa, this is obviously not what either one of us wanted to hear, but sometimes the simplest answer is the right one. And now Todd's story is starting to make sense.

Téa: Thank you for coming to tell me in person, Natalie.
