Viki: Oh, Gigi, Rex, thank God. Is Charlie with you?
Rex: No, and we've checked everywhere. We thought maybe we'd find him here.
Viki: So did I.
Gigi: Oh, I think we were all afraid after what happened at the wedding--
Viki: I know. I know, that he'd go looking for a drink.
[Knocks on door]
Echo: Hey, Charlie. How was the wedding?
Charlie: As far as I know, there was no wedding.
Kelly: I didn't do what you think I did. There's something you need to see.
Aubrey: Joey, I just had the greatest idea. Why don't we get married right now?
Kelly: She's serious.
Aubrey: Of course I am. So... what do you say you and me tie the knot right here, right now.
Cutter: I mean, we got a church. We got flowers. We got a bride and a groom, no secrets between them.
Aubrey: And it just happens to be Valentine’s Day.
Cutter: Somebody might as well get married.
John: I'm sorry.
John: I can't be around you right now.
Jessica: So she told you what happened, that she slept with Brody?
Nate: I can't believe this. Are you sure, Dani? Ford is a father?
Ford: Hey, James, you used all the body scrub. Oh, hey, Dani, what's up?
Dani: Hey, Ford. Oh, oh. Nothing is up. Why would anything be up?
Ford: I don't know. It's just an expression.
Nate: Yeah. Great because nothing is up.
Ford: Are you sure nothing is up? Because you two are acting like it.
Nate: Well, it's not, really.
Ford: Is that so?
Ford: What are you guys hiding?
John: Yeah. She told me what they did.
Brody: John, I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am.
John: Then don’t. I don't want to hear it.
Jessica: At least now it's all out in the open, right?
John: Is it?
Jessica: Oh, yeah. Brody told me everything.
John: No, he didn’t. He couldn't have. Brody doesn't know everything, but Natalie does.
Aubrey: Yeah. For once, my brother is right. I know things didn't work out for Natalie and Jessica...
Kelly: Yeah, Joey’s sisters.
Aubrey: And I'm really so sorry about that, but that doesn't mean that somebody can't get married tonight, and why not us? We already have our license. We can find the priest. What do you say? Come on. Don't keep me in suspense.
Cutter: I wouldn't worry about it, sis. He's just making you work for it like you did him when he popped the question.
Joey: No, Aubrey. I'm not playing games with you. It's just, this is a little bit of a surprise.
Aubrey: Which is why it's so right, don't you think? Ever since we've met, we've been unpredictable and spontaneous. Our wedding should be, too.
Joey: But we made all those plans, right? You said you wanted a ceremony, a reception.
Aubrey: Yeah. I did.
Kelly: Yeah, but not anymore?
Aubrey: No. I realize those things don't really matter. All I want is you. Don't you want me?
Viki: He's not answering his phone, and I've looked all over for him. I went home. I've been to the Buenos Dias. I even went to Jared’s grave.
Rex: Yeah. We checked those places, too.
Viki: I called his sponsor. I've been to every AA meeting in town. I thought I better start looking in the bars.
Gigi: Viki, try to stay calm, okay? We're gonna find him.
Rex: Viki, look. Gigi and I, we got here a little while ago, and we gave the staff a description of Charlie.
Gigi: The bartender knew him.
Viki: So he was here.
Rex: Yeah. He was.
Viki: Oh, God, you better just tell me whatever it is.
Gigi: Charlie was sitting here for a while, and he ordered a vodka.
Viki: Oh, God.
Echo: I don't understand. I thought you were going to the wedding.
Charlie: Can I come in?
Echo: Of course. I have to apologize for the lack of amenities, but the Palace was booked. Ha!
[Cell phone ringing]
Echo: Charlie? You want to get that?
Charlie: Oh, no. It's just Viki, and I don't think I can deal with her right now.
Echo: Why not?
Charlie: Oh, I don't even know if I can say it.
Echo: Hey, Chuckles, you can tell me anything. Can't be any more difficult than when I had to tell you that we had a son.
Charlie: We don't have a son. I'm not Rex's father. Clint is!
Ford: Oh, my God. Oh, my God! You're pregnant?
Dani: No. I'm not pregnant. No. We didn't even have--
Nate: She's not pregnant. She's not.
Dani: Ford, what I meant when I said baby-- you have--
Nate: Baby-soft skin.
Ford: Excuse me?
Nate: Yeah. You're all, like, supple, man. Ha ha! How do you get like that?
Ford: Exfoliant. Exfoliant.
Nate: Oh, it makes sense. Yeah. Can I try some? I've been--
Ford: No. You can’t. Is that it? Okay. Acting so weird.
Dani: Baby-soft skin?
Nate: Wait. Baby?
Dani: What was I supposed to say, Nate? He's gonna read that he's a father in tomorrow's paper.
Nate: How do you even know?
Dani: One of my dad's reporters called my dad. Jessica was supposed to marry Brody Lovett today, but that didn't happen because it came out in front of the whole church that there was some kind of screw-up with her baby's paternity test, and it turns out that Ford is the father.
Jessica: John, what are you talking about? What does Natalie know?
Natalie: Please, John, don't do this. Can I just speak to you alone for a minute?
John: We have nothing to say to each other, but Jessica and Brody, you might have something to say to them.
Natalie: Not now.
John: If you don't tell them, I will.
Jessica: Tell us what?
John: It's about--
Natalie: Okay. Okay. Okay. I'll... tell you everything.
Aubrey: Listen. I know that this wedding would be spur-of-the-moment, even for us, and maybe some people around here it would be a little much for, but it's perfect for us. Besides, it's the best way to make sure that we get married at all.
Kelly: Why? Are you afraid something or someone is gonna stop you?
Echo: I don't know what you're talking about. How can Rex be Clint's son? There were DNA tests taken.
Charlie: Well, the test was tampered with.
Echo: By who? Who could do something like that?
Charlie: Clint. Clint. It turns out, he's got a few too many kids, so he decided to unload one on me.
Echo: Who told you this?
Charlie: It all came out at the wedding. Clint hates Rex, and he would do anything to keep that kid from being a part of his family, even if it meant letting me believe that I was Rex's dad.
Echo: Oh, Charlie, I am so sorry.
Charlie: I'm sorry, too. I'm sorry that you had to hear about it like this.
Echo: You're the one I'm worried about. I wish I knew what to say.
Charlie: Yeah. Well, I didn't know what to say, either, so I just left.
Echo: Well, I'm glad you're here.
Charlie: Well, actually, this was my second stop... after Rodi’s.
Echo: Oh, no. No. Did you fall off the wagon?
Viki: Now he's turned his phone off.
Gigi: We shouldn't jump to conclusions because after what happened today, he probably just needs time to think.
Viki: Well, I hope that that's what he's doing because the temptation to drink can be so overpowering for him.
Rex: Then we find him, and we don't let him.
Viki: It was too late if he's already--
Rex: Then we sober him up, we get him to a meeting, and we don't leave him alone. I don't care who my biological father is. I'm not gonna abandon Charlie.
Viki: The way Clint abandoned you. I cannot believe that he would do that, to sink that low.
Rex: I don't care what Clint does to me, but Charlie, he does not deserve someone playing God with his life.
Viki: Oh, unfortunately, Clint played with more lives than yours.
Nate: Ford is gonna flip the hell out when he finds out he has a baby.
Dani: You don't know that. Maybe he'll be happy about it.
Nate: Have you met my brother?
Ford: Hey, Dani, maybe you can help me out. My brothers are kind of useless. Which one?
Dani: What's the occasion?
Ford: Well, it's my big Valentine’s Day date with Langston. We're kind of celebrating making it to the end.
Dani: The end of what?
Ford: A very, very long dry spell.
Dani: Oh, right. Yeah. Um... they're both really nice. Uh...
Ford: That helps. Thank you. It probably doesn't matter. It's not like I'm gonna be wearing it for long, right?
Nate: Ha ha! Oh... in case you missed it, that was code for "Langston has been freezing me out, but tonight that stops."
Dani: Thanks. I got it.
Nate: Does that sound like a guy who's ready for fatherhood?
John: Go ahead. Tell them. I'm not leaving until you do.
Brody: John, please. This is hard enough as it is.
John: Oh, it's about to get harder, buddy.
Brody: Hey, I get that you're angry. You have every right to be, but Natalie and I never meant to hurt you and Jessica.
John: Yeah. That's what she told me.
Brody: No. We weren't thinking. We were drunk. We were alone, and I thought I'd lost Jessica forever. Natalie thought--
John: I know what she thought.
Brody: It didn't mean anything, and no matter what, at least you get to go home to your son tonight. I don’t.
Natalie: Okay, Brody. Just stop.
Brody: Stop what?
Jessica: Wait. Natalie has something to say. Go ahead. What is it, Natalie?
Natalie: I've been lying to you, not just you...not just you and John, to you, Brody, and now I need to tell the truth.
Aubrey: Hell, yeah, I'm worried that something might stop Joey and me from getting married. Look what happened to his poor sisters.
Kelly: Oh, well, that's never gonna happen to you guys, right? Even your brother said so himself. You and Joey have no secrets, right?
Aubrey: Of course we don't, but if I've learned anything, it's that something crazy is always happening in Joey’s family, and if we wait for the dust to settle, we might never get married.
Kelly: Still, I bet you guys can wait a few more minutes, right, just long enough to read this? I have asthma.
Aubrey: What is it, exactly, that you want Joey to see so badly? First, you had your little tape and now this.
Kelly: This, Joey’s father wanted him to read, not you.
Joey: Wait. You're in this with my father?
Kelly: No. It's not like that. All this says is how important it was to Clint for you to see what was on that video.
Joey: And I saw it.
Kelly: Do you think that's all there was? Do you really think your father wanted you to watch Aubrey professing her love for you?
Joey: Kelly, that's what was on the jump drive.
Kelly: Well, there must have been something else, duh!
Joey: Well, then where did it go? No. This--no. No. This is crazy. I'm not gonna let this or anything else stop me from marrying Aubrey.
Aubrey: From what?
Joey: Marrying you.
Aubrey: Joey, really? You mean it?
Joey: I really do.
Cutter: Congratulations, you two.
Kelly: Yeah. Congratulations.
Cutter: I am so happy for both of you.
Joey: All right. Let's--
Cutter: I think moving ahead is the way to go. I mean, you two belong together.
Echo: Charlie, tell me, how much did you have to drink?
Charlie: Not a drop, but I wanted to. Oh, boy, I almost did. I ordered one, and then the bartender, he just brought it right on. He put it right down in front of me, and it was like that drink was just trying to stare me down, and I picked it up... [Charlie sniffs]
Charlie: And I gave it a good, long whiff. Then I put it back down, and I got the hell out of there... but I didn't know where else to go.
Echo: Well... came to the right place.
Charlie: Well, I couldn't go back to Llanfair. I don't know how I'm ever gonna face Rex and Shane again. I just spent so much time trying to make them a part of my life, and all I was doing was making a fool out of myself.
Echo: No. Don't say that. Shane and Rex love you. This is not your fault.
Charlie: No, but maybe it is.
Echo: Why would you even think that?
Charlie: Okay. Because if I hadn't lost Jared, if I wasn't walking around with a gaping hole in my heart every day, maybe I wouldn't be so ready to buy what Clint was selling, that I could have another family of my own again--a son, a grandson... and you.
Rex: Jessica's son is Ford's?
Viki: Yeah. That's right. Clint forced one of his employees to ensure the outcome of two paternity tests--yours and Jessie’s.
Gigi: Oh, my God.
Viki: Apparently, his need to control his family eclipsed his concern for the damage that that might do to his daughter.
Gigi: I don't get it. Did he really think Rex and Ford were so dangerous?
Viki: No. No. He comes from a line of men who believe it is their right to rule their families.
Rex: Oh, I remember Asa.
Viki: The thing is that Clint used to be different, you know? I thought he had learned to be a better man than his father.
Rex: Yeah. Looks like he unlearned it.
Viki: And you're paying the price--you, Jessie, Brody, and their baby. Frankly, I don't know if they can survive finding out that Ryder is not Brody's son.
Natalie: I'm sorry. I am so sorry that Brody and I slept together. It never should have happened, and the second it was over, we wished we could take it back.
Jessica: Natalie, all you had to do was tell John and me the truth. We might've understood then.
Natalie: But we couldn’t. We couldn’t. I never wanted to lie to you, Jess. I don't want to lie to anyone, but we just got you back, and I couldn't risk losing you to mental illness again. You were so happy. You were with Brody, and I was with John, and everybody was where they were supposed to be, and I wasn't gonna just destroy all of that for one mistake that was never gonna happen again.
Jessica: I understand. I understand exactly how you felt.
Natalie: You do?
Jessica: Yes. I felt the same thing when I was trying to decide if I should tell Brody that I slept with Ford, but I told him, and we survived. Why did you have such little faith that we could get past it, too?
Dani: We have to tell Ford the truth.
Nate: Even if he doesn't want to be a father?
Dani: Doesn't matter. He is one.
Ford: Hey, one last question, guys. Tie, or no tie?
Nate: Um... dude, we need to talk.
Ford: And I've got other ties back there if you need to--
Nate: It's not about the tie.
Ford: What's it about? Is it about Langston? Did she call? Did she bail on me?
Nate: It's not about Langston. It's about you... and Jessica Brennan. You're the father of her baby.
Natalie: You can't compare what happened to me and Brody to what happened between you and Ford. You didn't sleep with your sister's boyfriend. You didn't sleep with the best friend of the man that you were in love with. Ford wasn't even part of your life.
Jessica: So that makes it okay to lie about it?
Natalie: It wasn't just the four of us anymore, Jessica. We were pregnant, and I had to protect the babies that were being born into this family.
Jessica: Well, Natalie, God, you did a bang-up job of that. It doesn't matter, really, for me and Brody anymore. We built a life together assuming that we were gonna have a child. None of that is true. Doesn't make a difference to you, though, because you and John still have your baby.
John: No. We don't have anything.
Jessica: What are you talking about?
John: Liam. Liam isn't my son. He's Brody's.
Jessica: Oh, my God.
Cutter: Look who I found.
Reverend: I'm sorry. I had assumed the double wedding had been cancelled, but now I see two couples. Are you all getting married?
Cutter: Kel, you want to do me the honor?
Kelly: Reverend, there's only one happy couple, these two, and I'm just here to wish them well.
Aubrey: Will you be our witness?
Kelly: I will pass.
Joey: Kelly, wait. Kelly? Kelly. Wait, Kelly!
Kelly: I did for too long. Anyway, I thought you were mad at me.
Joey: I am. I hate seeing you like this.
Kelly: Good. You won't have to. You're getting married, and I'm getting out of your way
Echo: I'm so sorry for everything that you've lost. I know how much you wanted a family of your own, and I wanted you to have that, too.
Charlie: Wish I could say the same thing for my wife. Viki never wanted this to work out for me, her and her best friend Dorian. The whole time, I was trying to build a relationship with Rex and Shane, they were just sitting there, both of them, just watching, waiting for you to screw up. They were so sure that you were playing me. Well, they were right about one thing. I was being played, all right, just not by you. By Clint, of all people. Viki and Dorian were doing everything they could to make you out to be the bad guy, and you are anything but.
Rex: The second we know anything, we'll call you, okay?
Viki: Thanks, and I'll do the same, okay?
Viki: Good night.
Rex: Good night.
Gigi: Oh, this is bad.
Rex: Really bad.
Viki: Oh, God...
Ford: Holy crap. Holy crap. Holy crap. Are you sure? You're sure? There's no way you can make a mistake about this, right? You know for a fact.
Dani: No. My dad says this guy Vimal, he has proof.
Ford: Oh, my God, I'm a father.
Jessica: What did you just say?
John: Go ahead. Finish it.
Natalie: It's true. The baby is Brody's.
Jessica: Oh, God, God...
Brody: You told me the test said it was John's baby. You told me you were having John's baby.
John: She lied.
Natalie: I'm sorry, Brody. I didn't mean to. You have to believe me. It's just, I didn't know what I was gonna say until it came flying out of my mouth, and I couldn't take it back. It was too late.
Brody: How could you do this?
Natalie: I thought everything was gonna be okay.
Brody: It's okay to keep my son from me?
Natalie: You were having a son. You were having the one you wanted with Jessica. You and Jess were getting your happy ending, and I just wanted me and John to have ours, too. No one was supposed to know about this.
Jessica: Somebody did know, right? Marty. That's what she tried to tell me--this is it-- the first time you guys tried to get married, isn't it?
Natalie: She stole a copy of the paternity test, and she's been holding it over my head for months.
Jessica: And instead of coming clean, you just took it, anything to keep us from learning the truth?
Natalie: I did this for us!
Jessica: Natalie, tell the truth! You didn't do this for me. You didn't do it for Brody. You didn't do it for those babies, and you sure as hell didn't do it for John. You did it for yourself, you lying, selfish whore!
Echo: Maybe Viki and Dorian are right.
Charlie: What do you mean?
Echo: Maybe this is my fault. I mean, if I'd never come to town looking for my son, maybe none of this ever would've happened.
Charlie: No, no, no. I would never blame you for that.
Echo: Well, maybe you should. I've caused you so much pain, Charlie. First, I give you a son, and then I take him away from you. You don't deserve that. If I thought for one moment that I was going to hurt you, I would've stayed clear of Llanview forever. All I wanted to do was give you a gift.
Charlie: And you did. I mean, you're back in my life now, aren't you?
Viki: That's a-boy. Go to sleep. Yes. Oh, my, it's been a rough night for all of us, but grandma is here now, okay, and your parents will be home soon. Oh, Ryder, hopefully, your parents will be home soon, too-- Jessica and Brody.
Brody: Jessica, come on. Come on.
Jessica: No. No. I need to talk to Natalie alone.
John: You be all right?
Jessica: Will you?
Ford: I have to go.
Nate: Maybe you should stay. We can talk. We'll get James.
Ford: No, I need to go. Langston is waiting for me.
Dani: No. I will call Langston for you.
Ford: No. Don't call her. Thank you. Thank you both for telling me. I have to go.
Joey: Are we ready?
Aubrey: Oh, is Kelly staying?
Reverend: If you have the rings.
Cutter: All right. I know as the maid of honor, best man, and witness all rolled into one, it's technically my response--
Joey: It's fine. It's fine. We'll get them tomorrow. We don't need them, right?
Aubrey: Definitely not.
Reverend: Well, it's a bit unorthodox.
Joey: Which is why it's perfect for us.
Aubrey: I, Aubrey, take you, Joseph...
Joey: To be my wife...
Aubrey: To have and to hold...
Joey: For better or for worse...
Aubrey: For richer, for poorer...
Joey: In sickness and in health...
Aubrey: To love and to cherish...
Joey: Until death do us part.
Reverend: I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.
Brody: Think they're okay in there?
John: No. I don't think they're okay. I think we're all far from okay, Brody.
Brody: You know what I meant.
John: Do I? I don't think I know you at all. You know, more than once, you told me you had my back. I didn't know this is what you had in mind.
Brody: It wasn't like that, John.
John: Sure, it was. Why would I believe a word that comes out of your mouth, anyway?
Brody: That's it? That's all you have to say to me?
John: Take care of your kid, Brody.
Brody: I don't think of Liam that way.
John: Better start. Parents like you and Natalie, he's gonna need all the help he can get.
Jessica: I had no idea. This entire time--when I confided in you, when I told you about what happened with Ford, when I told you about how scared I was that Brody and I weren't gonna make it, when we christened our children, when I suggested that we stand at the altar together and marry the men that we love--you just didn't say anything. You just kept on lying.
Natalie: I thought I was doing the right thing.
Jessica: The right thing-- the right thing would've been to tell the truth and come clean with everything, but you're not interested in that, are you, Natalie? You never have been. The only thing you're interested in doing is hurting me.
Natalie: Jess, that's not true.
Jessica: You always wanted my life. You have. It's the reason why you came to town in the first place--to steal my family, all of my loved ones. It wasn't enough that you're a real Buchanan. You had to take Nash, too, didn't you?
Natalie: You know that Jared-- it was an accident.
Jessica: And then you went after Brody, and you took the family that we were supposed to have together. You wouldn't quit till it was all gone, right?
Natalie: Jess, no. I wouldn't do that.
Jessica: Natalie, I woke up this morning, and I had a baby with Brody, and now I don’t. You do.
Jessica: Good. Job well done.
Natalie: Jessica, no, no, no. I did not want any of this. You've got to believe me. Please. I am not the person-- I am not the person that I was when I came here, okay? I love you. We're sisters.
Jessica: This was a gift for my sister. I don't know what you are, but you're not my sister.
Brody: Jessica. Jessica?
Natalie: I'm so sorry.
Dani: What do you have planned for us tonight, anyway?
Nate: Uh-uh. It's a surprise.
Dani: You're not gonna tell me?
Nate: No way.
Dani: Why not?
Nate: Because I want it to be perfect for you.
Dani: I was thinking. You know, after we do your special thing...
Dani: Maybe we could go somewhere.
Nate: Do you have somewhere in mind?
Dani: Some place we can have sex.
Rex: That's it. I've tried every bar, liquor store, bodega in town. No sign of Charlie.
Gigi: Well, at least I've got some good news. I tried the hospital, the morgue, and the drunk tank at the station. No sign of him at any of those places, either.
Rex: Right. Where haven't we looked?
Gigi and Rex: Echo.
Echo: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that. I—
Rex: If Charlie is with Echo, then he's safe.
Gigi: No. You go ahead.
Rex: No. You know what? It's okay. I'll go back out later. Besides, I want to get home to Shane and tell him about what happened tonight before he hears it from somebody else.
Gigi: All right. Let's go. What is it?
Rex: How do you tell your son that your own father hates you?
Gigi: Whatever you tell him, you're not gonna be telling him alone.
Rex: I love you, Morasco.
Gigi: I love you, too, Balsom.
Aubrey: What are you doing? Joey is in the other room.
Cutter: Couldn't help it, all right? I needed to celebrate our win. We did it.
Aubrey: Yeah. Yeah. We did.
Cutter: Now let the fleecing of the Buchanan Enterprises begin.
Joey: Thank you very much, Reverend Jeffries.
Reverend Jeffries: My pleasure. Congratulations.
Joey: Thank you. Oh... so you ready to go?
Aubrey: And start our new life together?
Aubrey: More than ready.
Kelly: To Aubs and Joey.
Ford: Heh. You're my son.
Brody: Jessica? Jess, you in there?
Natalie: Oh, God, Jessica hates me. Oh, my own sister hates me.
Jessica: On the next "One Life to Live"...
Dani: You want to have sex with me, don't you?
Natalie: He's Brody's.
Ford: Was that a threat, Officer?
John: The bar is closed. Get out.
