Episode # 10574 ~ Is It So Small a Thing?

Starr: I think you might want to go grab breakfast, too, because this might take a while.
Cole: Have I told you that you're way braver than I am? What?
Starr: Well, at least my mom made this stuffing before she and Sam left to go watch Jack play a pilgrim. And I really hope that someone is going to be around to eat this besides us, because -- ugh. Well, Aunt Dorian's in London, and my dad's off chasing Téa, and your mom's on call.
Cole: You know, you can always bail on the turkey, and we can order takeout.
Starr: I don't think so. I am not telling Hope that her first Thanksgiving was spent eating pizza. We're having turkey.
Cole: I don't even remember what we ate last year.
Starr: Well, Aunt Dorian had a huge, fancy feast to try to make everyone happy, but there didn't seem to be much to be thankful for.
Cole: Yeah, we didn't have her.
Starr: Did you ever think that a year later --
Cole: We'd end up like this?
Starr: Oh, I'm so happy. Come here. Ha ha ha!
Cole: Excuse us.
Dorian: Oh, dear. Am I interrupting?
Starr: Aunt Dorian? You're here? Langston said that you were off in London looking for David.
Dorian: No, I couldn't go. Not when my people need me.
Starr: Your --
Dorian: Your Aunt Viki has stepped aside as mayor. And if I'm asked to take over, to lead Llanview, I have to be ready to serve.
Viki: Oh, Charlie. Oh, sweetheart, I've been so worried about you.
Charlie: Well, yeah, I got up early this morning and decided to go to a meeting. I had to turn my phone off.
Viki: Oh. I'm sorry, I -- it's just, I woke up, you weren't there.
Charlie: Yeah -- no, I didn't mean to scare you.
Viki: No, it's all right.
Charlie: But you sure you're okay?
Viki: Yeah, I'm fine. Just ignore the half dozen messages I left you.
Charlie: No, no, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about this.
Viki: Oh. Is there something in there about me resigning from the office of mayor?
Charlie: Yeah, I mean, after all that hard work, you're just stepping down?
Nora: Yeah, tomorrow is Jared's funeral. And then Bo and I will get in the plane right afterwards and fly back.
Rachel: Don't worry, Mom. Between me and Greg, Matthew isn't hurting for attention.
Nora: How's he doing?
Rachel: He's a little sick of crazy eights.
Nora: Hmm. Still no feeling in his legs, huh?
Rachel: No, not yet. But Greg says that that's normal.
Nora: Okay. Well, tell him that Bo and I will be calling him later, okay?
Rachel: All right. Well, Happy Thanksgiving.
Nora: Happy Thanksgiving, sweetheart. I love you. Matthew's cleaning up in cards.
Bo: Hmm. I miss him.
Nora: Yeah, I do, too.
Bo: And I miss you, too. How are you doing, Red?
Nora: My heart is breaking for Clint. His son-in-law was just murdered. How am I supposed to tell him that I'm leaving him?
Matthew: Jared used to shoot hoops with me. He was cool. I wish I could go home for his funeral.
Destiny: You stay in that hospital and get better.
Matthew: Yeah, however long that takes. I still can't feel my legs.
Destiny: It'll happen.
Matthew: Yeah, I hope so. I have to go. Your brother's here.
Destiny: Tell him Happy Thanksgiving for me.
Matthew: All right, I will. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Destiny: Back at you. I miss you.
Matthew: Back at you.
Shane: Can I show moa and Noelle the pictures from my Thanksgiving play?
Gigi: You don't think they caught everything from the front row?
Shane: Dad says these are the money shots.
Gigi: All right. Just don't get in Moe's way. He has a lot to do.
Shane: I won't. I'm not stupid. And I won't tell him that my teacher thought he was my granddad.
Rex: I wish Moe really was his granddad.
Gigi: When are you going to tell him that Mitch Laurence is your father?
Rex: Uh, how about never? That sound good?
Gigi: I just thought of something. What about Jessica? She doesn't have a clue that she's your sister.
Jessica: There you go. Aren't they pretty? Huh? We have to pick them all, because soon, they're going to be gone. Did you have a fun time at Renee's? Was it? It was fun?
Jessica: Did she slip you the cherry out of her Manhattan? Did she? Was it good? Come here. I missed you. Oh, I missed you so much.
["Turkey in the Straw" playing]
Jessica: What's that?
Brody: Happy Thanksgiving, ladies.
Cristian: So did Mami wake you up in 5:00 in the morning to make the pig? Just a hunch. Yeah, yeah, let me talk to her. Tell Jamie that I love her like madness, and Happy Thanksgiving. Hey. So you couldn't let Antonio sleep in, huh? How's he doing? Yeah, I know. Well, it's his first holiday without Talia.
Layla: Did you talk to your parents?
Oliver: Um, I left them a message. I thought they'd call back by now.
Layla: They'll come around.
Cristian: Yeah, hey, everything's good here. Kyle is making -- well, no, Kyle is bringing the vegetables. Fish is making the eggnog. And Layla is working her magic on the bird. Me? No, I'm just keeping up on the football for everybody. We're good. We have a lot to be thankful for this year.
Roxy: Oh, Morris, how could I know that Mitch Laurence was still alive? I never would have told Rex that was his daddy if I knew that. Now Rex hates me more than ever.
Kyle: Are you talking to a beaver?
Roxy: It's a porcupine. How much did you hear?
Kyle: Enough to know that you're still on the outs with your son.
Roxy: Well, I'm not exactly an over the river and through the woods type of gal.
Kyle: Kind of makes for a lonely holiday, doesn't it?
Roxy: Well, last Thanksgiving was great. Kyle: Oh, yeah?
Roxy: Yeah. I'd just found out that Rex had a son. And Shane gave me the time of day for the first time.
Rex: I don't think Jessica needs a walking reminder of the man she despises most on the planet.
Gigi: Rex, you're her brother. It's the one good thing that's come out of this.
Rex: I want to tell Shane first. So how do I do this, Morasco? How do I tell my son that his grandfather is the devil himself?
Gigi: With my help.
Rex: I might take you up on that. But not today. This is Thanksgiving. It was a year ago today that he finally called me Dad for the first time.
Gigi: Jessica may have a creep for a father, but she's really lucky to have you for a brother.
Destiny: You didn't order pumpkin?
Phylicia: Shaun doesn't like pumpkin.
Destiny: What about what I like?
Mr. Evans: No, you forfeited your choice when you boarded that plane to London without telling us.
Phylicia: I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to bake, sweetie, but I made all your other favorites.
Shaun: Cherry cornbread stuffing?
Destiny: Greg doesn't like food with fruit in it.
Phylicia: Gregory isn't here. And I did not take his call this morning. Haven't spoken to him since he took up with his brother's girlfriend.
Mr. Evans: Phylicia, stop.
Phylicia: I can't believe the selfishness.
Mr. Evans: Phylicia, stop.
Mr. Evans: Stop and think about how quickly a family can go from anger to grief.
Jessica: Oh, honey --
Natalie: No, don't do that.
Jessica: I'm sorry.
Natalie: No, I just -- I mean -- you know, after Nash died, I always felt so guilty whenever you saw me with Jared.
Jessica: Oh, God.
Natalie: All I'm saying is, I just -- I don't -- I don't want you to feel that way, either one of you. You shouldn't feel guilty for being happy.
Brody: Go play, go.
Bree: Aunt Natty --
Natalie: Yeah, sweetie? What is it?
Bree: For you because of Uncle Jared.
Natalie: Thank you. You remember how much he loved these? Almost as much as he loved you. Come here.
Viki: And I'm -- I'm sorry that I didn't have a chance to tell you, but you were asleep last night, and there were some reporters outside, and I spoke with them.
Charlie: So you're just going to throw away a job that meant so much to you?
Viki: I'm not throwing it away, Charlie.
Charlie: Well, I don't know what you call it then. And I hope you're not doing this on my account, because I don't want that. I don't need it, and I definitely don't deserve it.
Starr: So you could end up mayor?
Dorian: Absolutely. Oh!
Starr: Okay, you're ready.
Dorian: I can't stand the wait, I tell you. But yes, we'll be hearing any minute, because the city council is meeting right now, even as we speak.
Starr: On Thanksgiving?
Dorian: Oh, yes, my darling. What choice do they have? After all, Mayor Lowell is in prison, and -- well -- forget the spoon, okay? Just forget -- nothing beats this. Your Aunt Viki -- ha, ha -- well, she has decided to abandon the citizens of this town.
Starr: No, Aunt Dorian, you know her. Aunt Viki would never abandon anyone.
Dorian: Of course, dear. She has, as she put it -- she needs to spend more time with her family.
Starr: Her daughter's husband just died. Could you imagine if something happened to the Cramer girls?
Dorian: Heaven forbid. Though I would like to think that no matter what, I would meet my obligations.
Starr: You would do the exact same thing if you were in her shoes.
[Knocking on door]
Dorian: Oh. Oh, it's about time. Come in!
Amelia: The council took some time agreeing on a solution.
Dorian: Oh, of course they did. Of course they did. Why come up with an easy answer when it's so much more fun devising some Byzantine reason why they don't just hand the job to the person who lost by one measly vote?
Starr: Aunt Dorian, just let Amelia talk.
Dorian: Of course, darling. I'm -- I'm sorry. And what, Amelia, was the city council's decision?
Amelia: Congratulations, Mayor Lord.
Viki: I love you so much. I think you know that. But, sweetheart, I am not giving up this position for you.
Charlie: Well, then who are you doing it for?
Viki: I'm doing it for me. Honestly, for me. Charlie, I need to be here now. I want to be here now. Look, after Nash died, I went to Africa. My children were in terrible trouble. They needed me. I was not here. And I will never stop regretting that.
Charlie: I know. Okay, but you can support your loved ones without giving up something that means so much to you.
Viki: Sweetheart, tomorrow, Natalie is burying her husband. You are burying your son. And the man who has terrorized my family for years and years is back in our lives. This is not a time for me to start a very big and a very difficult job.
Charlie: Well, it just seems like a very big sacrifice. Then again, what do I know about making sacrifices? Unless you're talking about sacrificing your family for the bottle.
Viki: Sweetheart, I know you blame yourself for everything that happened when you were drinking, but you are not drinking now. You are sober. And Jared forgave you. Jared loved you. You must learn to forgive yourself.
Charlie: I'm just really not sure that I can do that.
Viki: I think you have to try. And I would like to help you.
Viki: Hey, you know what? This town deserves a mayor who will give it 100% of her attention. I cannot do that now.
Charlie: Okay, but what if that mayor is Dorian? Do you really want to leave Llanview in the hands of Dorian?
Dorian: The city council has selected me as mayor?
Amelia: Since you came in such a close second, they felt you clearly represented the will of the people.
Dorian: Yes! Yes!
Starr: There she goes.
Starr: I'm very, very happy for you.
Dorian: Oh, I'm very, very happy! Oh, sweetie --
Cole: Hey, congratulations.
Dorian: Oh, thank you. Thank you so -- where's Langston?
Starr: Langston's having Thanksgiving with Markko's family, remember?
Dorian: Oh, yes, that's right.
Dorian: I guess that's understandable, even if Markko did choose to vote for Viki.
Cole: Yeah, they're all -- they're all working at a soup kitchen.
Dorian: Oh. Well, we wouldn't want to disturb their being positive role models for the citizens of Llanview.
Amelia: Now you can really make a difference in the fight for gay rights.
Starr: But I thought your heart was set on going to London to see David.
Dorian: Yes. It was, indeed. But I made a promise that I would use the power of the office of mayor to legitimize same-sex marriages.
Starr: But what about David?
Dorian: Da -- well, you see, even though my union with Amelia is merely symbolic, I did make a promise to the gay community. Yes, and I cannot abandon them. Gay people across this entire country are counting on me, and I am not going to let them down.
Kyle: Oh. Well, I'd better get started if I'm going to have this ready in time for dinner.
Roxy: You're not nuking a bird in your room, are you? 'Cause I'm not zoned for that.
Kyle: No, Oliver invited me over to spend the day with Cristian and Layla.
Roxy: Well, that sounds good.
Kyle: Yeah, now I just got to learn how to make a green bean casserole in a hot plate.
Roxy: Good luck.
Kyle: You going to talk to your daughter today?
Roxy: I think she needs her other mother right now. Really, it's okay.
Kyle: I -- I bet Oliver wouldn't mind if I brought over a guest.
Roxy: Thank you, but I really don't want to be a sixth wheel.
Kyle: You sure?
Roxy: Yeah, I'm sure. I got plenty of stuff to do here. But go ahead. Go make that casserole.
Gigi: Thank you.
Noelle: Oh, I wonder how Charlie's doing today.
Moe: You know, we met Charlie when he was searching for Jared.
Noelle: As soon as he found him, he was a changed man.
Noelle: He was so proud to be a father again.
Moe: Well, thank goodness they had some time together.
Noelle: Yeah. Have you heard from Viki and Charlie yet, Moe?
Moe: Not yet. We figured Thanksgiving would be the last thing they'd want to think about.
Noelle: Yeah, so we called them, left them a message, invited them over here.
Gigi: Well, it was a nice idea.
Moe: I don't know. We haven't heard one word.
Noelle: I mean, isn't there something we can do?
Phylicia: I'm still not ready to forgive Gregory.
Shaun: Neither am I.
Mr. Evans: Look, son, we have you here with us. Huh. And Gregory is doing surgery again. I mean, we've been blessed, your mother and I, with good health. And we have Ms. Destiny to bring us light and laughter into our lives. And so many families don't have what we have. Rich families, like the Buchanans.
Phylicia: What are you saying?
Mr. Evans: Maybe our time is best spent reaching out to them, rather than nursing a grudge against Gregory and Rachel.
Greg: How about there? There?
Matthew: No, I still can't feel anything.
Greg: The nerves haven't started regenerating yet.
Rachel: But you said that could take some time, right?
Matthew: Shouldn't something have happened by now?
Greg: Well, each case is different. We're still within the --
Matthew: The expected recovery window, I know.
Greg: But I have to admit, we were all hoping for some progress at this point.
Bo: Everybody we know is hurting right now. And I'm really happy. I mean, Matthew's had his surgery. He doesn't hate us anymore. You and I. You know, someday, we'll be together.
Nora: I can't tell Clint now.
Bo: No, no, I'm not pressuring you.
Nora: I feel so guilty for being happy.
Bo: It's lousy timing.
Nora: Oh, God. No matter how much I hate myself, how badly I feel for the pain that Clint's in, I just -- God help me, I love you. I can't stop loving you.
Bo: And the last thing I want to do is hurt my brother, but I love you, too.
Nora: Oh --
Clint: There's no use you two hiding this from me.
Bo: Clint --
Clint: I know what's going on.
Clint: You think I don't know what the two of you were talking about?
Bo: We shouldn't have kept it from you, Clint.
Nora: Clint, this isn't how --
Clint: Oh, please.
Nora: Any of this --
Clint: Don't even bother, all right? Because I know damn well that the two of you would rather be in Seattle with Matthew.
Matthew: Am I ever going to walk again?
Greg: Well, the surgery greatly increases your chances. But you knew going in -- it's not a guarantee, Matthew.
Matthew: So it's possible I won't?
Greg: It is possible.
Greg: For what?
Matthew: For being honest.
Greg: Hey, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Right now, we'll just have to wait it out.
Nora: Look, Clint, this is --
[Knock on door]
Nora: This is --
Bo: Mr. And Mrs. Evans, hi. Come on in.
Mr. Evans: We don't want to intrude
Phylicia: Well, we just thought, in case you hadn't had the time for the holiday --
Nora: Oh, my goodness.
Phylicia: Well, I always make too much.
Nora: You brought all this for us?
Phylicia: You were so kind to us when Shaun was hurt.
Mr. Evans: Yeah, we know how you must be feeling about Mr. Buchanan's son-in-law.
Phylicia: Happy holidays, Happy Thanksgiving, from our family to yours.
Clint: Well --
Nora: Thank you.
Clint: Thank you very much, but -- don't unpack that food, okay? Just for a minute.
Clint: And don't ask any questions. Just give me a few minutes, all right?
Nora: But, Clint, what are you
Dorian: This is a momentous occasion. Darling, we should be celebrating. How often does your aunt get elected mayor?
Starr: Twice in my case.
Dorian: Of course. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be happy this second time.
Starr: I'm sorry. I really -- I -- I am happy for you. I just keep thinking that the only reason that you're mayor now is because Jared Banks died, and he was a part of my family and Hope's.
Cole: For a while, they were her only family.
Starr: And I know how much they're hurting. I know what it's like to lose someone, and today must be just awful for them. I am really happy for you, but I don't feel like celebrating.
Brody: I am -- I am so sorry, Charlie.
Charlie: Oh. Thank you, Brody.
Brody: You were so -- you were so great when Jessica lost Chloe. If there's anything I can do for you --
Charlie: You know, I think between A.A. And Viki, I'm -- I'm getting by, so --
Viki: You know, Jared once told me how much he liked the fact that I brought in flowers from my garden.
Natalie: Hmm. Yeah, I told him maybe I'd give it a try if we got our own place.
Bree: Look, Grandma.
Viki: What is that? A turkey?
Bree: Gobble, gobble.
Viki: A turkey? Oh, my God, it's Thanksgiving. I completely forgot.
Jessica: Don't worry about it. It's just a meal.
Viki: But it completely slipped my mind. I can't believe this.
Viki: Excuse me.
Moe: Happy Thanksgiving.
Noelle: We thought maybe you could use some help with Thanksgiving dinner, if we're not intruding.
Viki: Intruding? You are the answer to my prayers. Oh, my God. Come in. Hi, baby.
Noelle: Happy Thanksgiving.
Viki: Oh, Moe.
Viki: Hi, Shane. Gigi. Hi, Rex.
Viki: You stepped on my toes.
[Knock on door]
Dorian: I'm not alone.
Viki: Oh. Oh.
Rachel: You know, this stuffing really isn't that bad.
Greg: Well, I hate to break it to you, but that's the turkey.
Matthew: Wouldn't Mom and Dad have called by now?
Nora: Who needs a lousy phone call?
Bo: Happy Thanksgiving.
Nora: Happy Thanksgiving.
[Bo and Nora laugh]
Matthew: Mom, Dad? Are you really --
Nora: Hi, sweetie!
Bo: Yeah. And we brought company, too. Here.
Mr. Evans: Hello, Gregory.
Roxy: So how did that casserole come out? Kyle: Ugh -- I don't know.
Kyle: It's not like my mom used to make.
Roxy: Very interesting looking. Well, green beans is green beans.
Kyle: You sure you don't want to come?
Roxy: Yeah, I'm sure. I'm cool. Just a couple hours till Black Friday.
Kyle: You know, my mother was far from perfect, but she loved me. And I always knew that.
Roxy: Sounds like she was a pretty good mom.
Kyle: She was. You remind me a lot of her. You change your mind
Oliver: Hey, got any carbs?
Layla: What are you trying to say?
Oliver: Nothing. I'm just really glad that Kyle's bringing the green bean casserole.
Layla: Is this finally going to be your first date?
Oliver: We're saving that. Hey, what about you?
Layla: You know what? I've never been on a date with Cris. He's never even asked.
Cristian: Well, I moved back in. Isn't that enough?
[Knock on door]
Oliver: Uh, I got it.
Kyle: Happy Thanksgiving, Oliver.
Oliver: Happy Thanksgiving.
Rex: How you doing?
Natalie: Awful. But I'm hanging in there.
Rex: Well, if all those years with Roxy didn't teach you to hang tough, nothing will.
Natalie: That's not the only good thing that Roxy gave me.
Rex: A deep appreciation for leopard print?
Natalie: You never blinked an eye when I asked you to help me find Jared, and I'm never going to forget that.
Rex: Say that when you see my bill.
Natalie: I'm serious. You're the best brother that anyone could ever ask for. So I guess Gigi's not mad at you anymore for running off with me?
Rex: Yeah, we're great.
Noelle: Did he get Stacy and her friend to keep their trap shut?
Gigi: Yeah. And I don't know how he did it.
Noelle: Well, he probably told them there was nothing to be gained. I mean, all you did was sleep at Schuyler's place one night, and then nothing happened between you two.
Gigi: Yeah, I know. And -- it's just the last thing Rex needs right now.
Shane: Jared was awesome. He totally let me beat him in Z-box last year.
Charlie: Hmm, he did, huh?
Shane: Well, he wouldn't admit it, but I knew he did. I'm really sorry.
Charlie: Well, thank you, Shane. You ought to go check out the games they got here, huh?
Rex: Don't break anything.
Charlie: That's a good kid you got there.
Rex: Yours wasn't so bad, either.
Charlie: I agree. So, how's your mom?
Rex: Roxy? Up to her same old tricks.
Charlie: Hmm. She's something. I still can't believe she talked me into pretending that I was your dad.
Rex: I was proud to be your son. Jared was, too.
Clint: Happy Thanksgiving.
Clint: That might be wishful thinking, but I'm very grateful that we can all be together today.
Viki: And I agree. Come in, please.
Clint: Thank you. Well, there are my girls.
Natalie: Oh, I'm so glad you're here, Dad.
Clint: Me, too.
Jessica: Hi, Dad.
Viki: Where's Nora?
Clint: Where she should be. And so am I.
Nora: Oh, my word. Is it cherries in this stuffing? Your mother is a good cook. Ooh.
Bo: How are you doing, son?
Matthew: I'm okay. So you heard I can't feel anything yet, right?
Nora: I'm sorry this is not happening as soon as you wanted it to, sweetie.
Matthew: It's okay waiting -- now that you're here.
Rachel: I hope things get better for Greg, now that his family's here.
Destiny: Me, too.
Greg: Why'd they even bother to come?
Mr. Evans: They wanted to see you.
Greg: Yeah. Could have fooled me.
Mr. Evans: Look, when Clint Buchanan offered to fly us out here, I said we should do it. I figured that if we were all together --
Greg: It's not your fault, pop.
Mr. Evans: It's not your fault, either, son.
Greg: Yeah, it is. And I'm sorry. Look, I don't know where things are headed with Rachel and I. But I'm going to keep pursuing it, whether Mom and Shaun like it or not.
Dorian: Viki, you must feel as if you have the weight of the world on your shoulders.
Viki: I've been better.
Dorian: No worries. I wasn't expecting you to congratulate me.
Viki: I'm sorry, on what? Your marriage to Amelia Bennett?
Dorian: No. The city council asked me to take over as mayor. I assumed that you knew.
Viki: No, I -- I didn't know. I've been avoiding the telephone.
Dorian: Yeah. Let me be the first to announce to you that after careful consideration, I decided to say yes.
Viki: As well you should. Heartiest congratulations, Dorian.
Dorian: Hmm. You actually sound as if you mean that.
Viki: I do. I think you could be an excellent mayor, if you choose to.
Dorian: I'll bear that in mind.
Viki: I'm glad to hear it.
Dorian: Happy Thanksgiving, Viki.
Viki: Happy Thanksgiving, Dorian. I know that it is very hard today to think about celebrating anything. Because there's such an empty place at the table. But I -- I found this -- this poem that has brought me comfort in the past. And given that today is a day to celebrate and to share, I -- I really thought I'd like to share it with all of you. "Is it so small a thing to have enjoyed the sun? Is it so small a thing to have lived light in the spring? Is it so small a thing to have thought, to have done? Is it so small a thing to have a brother and a son? Is it so small a thing to have played? To have run? Is it so small a thing to have honored a father? To have spun 3 dreams for his one? Is it so small a thing to have beaten down baffling foes? Is it so small a thing to have eased someone's woes? And lifted someone's lows? Is it so small a thing to have advanced true friends? Is it so small a thing to have made these amends? Is it so small a thing to have brought a family such joy? Is it so small a thing to have been a boy -- just a boy?" I just want to say, it is no small thing that Jared gave us. And I am very, very grateful to him for that. And I want to thank all of you for being here today, and for celebrating, all of us, together. Oh --
Jessica: And I want to thank you.
Clint: For what, honey?
Jessica: For being my dad. My real dad. And I love you.
Destiny: Have a piece of pie.
Destiny: I'm sorry.
Bo: What happened? Are you all right?
Nora: What happened?
Matthew: I -- I felt that.
Bo: You felt that?
Matthew: I'm -- I'm serious. Look, I -- I can feel this.
Nora: Don't hurt yourself.
Greg: Are you in any pain?
Matthew: No, it -- it doesn't hurt, but watch, look.
Starr: Oh, thank you. Do you think she liked her first turkey?
Cole: Well, I know I did. You did an amazing job. You know, Rex and Shane were fighting over the drumstick.
Starr: No, that was Moe's turkey. No one even touched mine.
Cole: No, no, no, it was yours. I checked, trust me.
Cole: I have my ways. And I have this.
Starr: What? What's that? What side do you want?
Cole: No, no, no, we're not breaking this wishbone.
Starr: Well --
Cole: This -- no, this belongs to Hope. All right? It's a souvenir for -- for her mom's first turkey on her first family Thanksgiving.
Starr: Are you sure you don't want to make a wish?
Cole: Who needs a wish? I have everything I want right here.
Starr: Daddy's really nice.
Singer: I tasted tasted love so sweet and all of it was lost on me bought and sold like property sugar on my tongue I kept falling over I kept looking backward I went broke believing that the simple should be hard all we are, we are all we are, we are and every day's a start of something beautiful I wasted wasted love for you trading out for something new well, it's hard to change the way you lose if you think you've never won 'cause all we are, we are all we are, we are and every day's a start of something beautiful and in the end the words won't matter 'cause in the end nothing stays the same and in the end dreams just scatter and fall like rain
