Viki: Good morning, honey.
Natalie: Good morning.
Charlie: Good morning.
Natalie: Charlie, I was just reading about you. Take a look.
Charlie: Uh -- I didn't know that anybody took my picture last night.
Viki: It's probably one of those camera phones.
[Knock on door]
Rex: Hey, our guests.
Viki: Good morning. I'm glad you could come.
Adriana: Thank you.
Rex: We come bearing newspapers.
Viki: Oh, yes, I saw it, thank you.
Adriana: Yeah, you should've heard Rex at the newspaper stand bragging about Charlie. "See that hero on the front page? That's my dad."
Viki: You have every reason to be proud, Rex.
Charlie: Oh, hey.
Shane: Hey, Charlie.
Shane: That was so cool, what you did last night.
Charlie: Ah --
Gigi: Yeah, they were just talking about it on the -- oh, I didn't realize you had company. This is embarrassing. Sorry to interrupt.
Viki: You're not interrupting. In fact, I was hoping that you and Shane would join us.
Viki: For breakfast.
Viki: Good. Shane and Gigi are -- are staying with us here.
Shane: So I called my friend Jason back in Texas. And he's, like, "No, you're making it up." I'm, like, "I am not. It's true. My friend Charlie saved Jared's life."
Nigel: All this publicity --
Jared: Front-page news.
Nigel: Let's hope it doesn't attract unwanted attention.
Jared: You worry too much, Nigel.
Nigel: I'll be back shortly with breakfast pastries.
Jared: Nigel -- I just want to say thank you for what you said last night.
Nigel: Your heroic actions were most impressive, and they did ease my conscience to a degree.
Jared: So you feel vindicated, then?
Nigel: David Vickers wouldn't have risked a hangnail, let alone a broken neck to save anyone's bum but his own. So yes, I no longer feel conflicted about my decision.
Jared: I knew you'd come around.
Nigel: However --
Nigel: If you ever do anything to make me feel otherwise, I will have no qualms about pulling the plug on the entire thing.
Nora: Good morning, Nigel.
Nigel: Good morning.
Nora: Good morning, Jared.
Clint: Good morning.
Matthew: Oh, my God, I got, like, a million texts last night.
Jared: Oh, yeah?
Matthew: My friends are going crazy about what you did.
Jared: Oh. Huh.
Matthew: Whoa, Mr. Big shot in the newspaper.
Matthew: "Buchanan out as --" my dad got fired?
Bo: Actually, I came by to -- to tell you about that, Matthew.
Dorian: I just think he was incredibly heroic. More fruit?
Blair: Thank you. Pass me those pastries.
Dorian: I always knew that Charlie was a really lovely man, but who knew he possessed such incredible bravery? To risk his life to save the life of somebody who was -- who was a virtual stranger.
Starr: So I bet you and Dad missed all the excitement, huh?
Blair: Well, we had our fair share.
Langston: You mean the mayor dropping that bombshell?
Starr: Yeah -- um -- I don't get how the guy who pointed his gun at me and Langston is now the commissioner of Llanview.
Blair: Well, you know what? I don't want to talk about that. What I want to hear about is your party.
Langston: Did you hear about Mary J. Blige and how Rex got her to sing?
Blair: That is so great. What a coup!
Starr: I kind of almost passed out when they announced her. Freaking out.
Langston: It was awesome.
Dorian: And so I was right. You know, you were feeling so suspicious that people were being secretive with you, and they were. They were planning a surprise party.
Starr: Yes. I was a fool for thinking that, thank you. Can we please change the subject now? Please?
Jack: All girls? I hate that.
Starr: Well, then you can go back to bed.
Jack: Ha, ha.
Dorian: Or skip breakfast.
Blair: Look, I'm sorry you got just us girls, but your little brother was up at 4:30, and he's thankfully taking a nap.
Jack: So where is Dad this time?
Ramsey: No, not tomorrow, today. I want that door changed today. Thank you.
Todd: What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Ramsey: Well, you ought to be careful what you do with this. A bullet like this could kill someone.
Matthew: What happened, Dad?
Bo: Well, Matthew, the mayor decided that it was just time to make a change.
Matthew: Why didn't you tell me before?
Bo: Because I just found out about it myself last night.
Matthew: Didn't the mayor think you were doing a good job?
Clint: Matthew, everybody in this town knows that your dad was the best police commissioner that we've ever had.
Nora: Sometimes even when people do a good job, things have to change, and the mayor obviously had someone else he wanted to put in the job.
Matthew: So it -- it was political?
Bo: Hey, how about this guy? You know what? That's exactly right. No, it was political. Look, I know that this is a disappointment for you, son. But that's why I wanted to come by this morning and -- and talk to you about it myself.
Matthew: My God, the mayor's such a jerk.
Clint: Jerk -- that's a perfect assessment, yeah.
Matthew: Are you going to fight it? Get your job back?
Bo: No. No, it's a done deal.
Matthew: Then what are you going to do now?
Jack: Dad's never here for breakfast anymore.
Starr: Well, Jack, it's probably because he doesn't know that we're all sitting down and eating breakfast together this morning.
Jack: Yeah, right.
Dorian: Blair, did you tell him this was parent-teacher conference day?
Blair: Um -- actually -- ahem -- I forgot. But, guys, Dad's probably at work. You know, he's got to make a living.
Jack: We don't have to pay rent now that we're living here.
Blair: You got to eat.
Jack: Yeah, well --
Starr: So, do you guys think that it's too early for me to call Cole? I just want to thank him for last night.
Dorian: Or you could do the right thing and wait until he calls you.
Starr: Oh, yeah, that's right. I forgot it's the 16th century.
Dorian: Honey, you don't want to seem too needy, do you?
Starr: Okay, fine, I won't call him. Can we please change the subject now?
Starr: Like why you're letting my mom read the newspaper at the table. You always yell at me when I do that.
Blair: Oh, I'm -- I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm just -- have a hard time with Bo being fired.
Starr: Ew, Ramsey creeps me out.
Langston: Why was Commissioner Buchanan fired, anyway?
Dorian: Because quite a few people got away with serious crimes during his tenure.
Blair: Oh, you know that's not the reason, Dorian.
Dorian: Oh, fine, you explain it to them, Blair.
Blair: Well, I will. The reason he was fired is the reason a lot of things happen in this world. Life isn't always fair.
Starr: Okay, Mom --
Blair: Langston, I'm sorry. You of all people know that.
Matthew: Hey, maybe we can go on a fishing trip -- now that you have time off, right?
Bo: Well, yeah, I have plenty of time off, but you donít. You've got school.
Matthew: No, I meant on a weekend. You used to work all the time on weekends. But now you're free, right?
Bo: Oh, yeah, I am free.
Matthew: And since you don't need the money, you don't have to get another job right away, do you?
Nora: Okay, you know what? You got to stop pressuring your dad here now. This is all still very new to him.
Matthew: Yeah, sure. Um -- you should run for mayor.
Bo: Oh -- thank you for that suggestion, but you know what? Politics just isn't my game.
Matthew: Well, then maybe Uncle Clint should run.
Clint: No, I think we should wait till you're old enough and you run.
Nora: Hey, good morning, Cole.
Clint: Good morning.
Cole: Good morning, everyone.
Matthew: Cole, get over here. Look at this.
Matthew: The mayor fired my dad as police commissioner and hired some F.B.I. agent in his job.
Nora: "Former" F.B.I. agent.
Cole: Well, I'm really sorry about that. I've only heard great things about what you do.
Bo: Thank you, Cole.
Nora: You know what, Cole? Can I talk to you just for a second? Um -- excuse us.
Cole: Sure. What's going on?
Nora: That F.B.I. agent that replaced Bo -- it's Lee Ramsey.
Todd: You left that for me in my bedroom.
Ramsey: Did I?
Todd: That's not smart, Ramsey, threatening me.
Ramsey: You ought to be careful where you point. You could lose a finger. Now get out, I'm busy.
Todd: You're going to stay away from my family.
Ramsey: If you are trying to tell me that this bullet you say you found in your bedroom was somehow placed by me, may I suggest there are an awful lot of people who are more than anxious to put a bullet in you? So, I will recommend again that you watch your back. Now, if you came here for protection, I can assign someone to investigate this alleged bullet incident.
Todd: You're going to stay away from my family, Ramsey. Or I swear to God --
Ramsey: You make a lot of threats, don't you? Lot of empty threats, aren't they?
Nora: Listen, I know you've had your issues with the man, but I don't want you to worry about it, okay? You know, your mom would be very proud of you, the way you've just sort of kept on going with your life and your -- your schoolwork and your sports, and you're going to therapy and -- and giving that party last night for Starr. That was a very wonderful, generous thing to do. Was it as special for Starr as you were hoping it would be?
Cole: Yeah, it was.
Cole: She was really surprised. She had a great time.
Nora: Good, that's great. Okay, come on, let's go in and sit down and have some breakfast.
Cole: Actually, I canít. I have some stuff to do. Excuse me.
Matthew: I bet Mom's going to hate working with that new commissioner.
Bo: No, she'll make the best of it.
Matthew: Oh, no. I know Mom. When she hates somebody, it's impossible for her to hide it. What if he fires her, too?
Bo: No. No, that won't happen.
Matthew: How do you know?
Jared: Matthew, the Buchanans are respected by everyone in this town. And I know right now your world feels like it's been turned upside down. Believe me; I know what that's like. But when it comes to your family, you got nothing to worry about.
Shane: So tell me again how the first part happened.
Gigi: Shane --
Shane: When Jared went over the rail with that lady with the gun.
Gigi: Shane, enough!
Shane: But I just want to know so I can tell my friends what happened. So, after Jared saved Viki's daughter, you saved him, right?
Charlie: Yep, that's pretty much how it happened.
Shane: The only guy that I know that's as brave as you and Jared -- my dad. I never met him, but still -- I even read the whole story in the newspaper. And Mom knows I usually never read anything unless I have to.
Shane: That's because I usually watch TV when I'm not outside or playing with my friends. But not so much at Mr. McBain's, because he doesn't have cable and the picture's real blurry.
Gigi: Yeah, he gets the talkative thing from me, I'm sorry.
Rex: What grade are you in, Shane?
Shane: Fourth. But I could've been in fifth because of when my birthday is. But my mom heard that it's better to start late so that you're not the smallest kid in the class. Especially if you're small to begin with.
Rex: Makes a lot of sense.
Viki: Rex, Shane actually told me that you and Gigi knew each other back in Michigan, that you went to high school together?
Rex: Yeah, right, we did.
Rex: Small world, huh?
Natalie: Did you guys keep in touch all this time? I mean, email, something?
Gigi: No, we totally lost touch.
Natalie: Oh. That's too bad. Well, I mean, that's kind of cool. Here you guys both are in Llanview. So, Shane, I bet you miss Texas, right? I'm sure you miss all your friends.
Shane: Some of them. I mean, I miss having my own room, with cable.
Natalie: Right. So how long are you guys staying?
Ramsey's voice: I don't want you to leave Llanview. I want you and Shane to stay right here.
Gigi: Uh -- actually, I was thinking about maybe staying here, in Llanview.
Shane: What? You didn't tell me that.
Gigi: Well, I just made the decision.
Shane: But why?
Gigi: Lots of reasons. Mostly because I like it here. I hope you like it here.
Shane: Yeah, a lot. I mean, as long as I know we'll go back to Texas someday.
Gigi: Yes, of course we will someday.
Viki: Well, I'm absolutely delighted that you're going to stay. And you know you can live here as long as you want.
Gigi: Oh, Viki, no, I couldnít.
Viki: Absolutely. Why not? There's tons of room.
Shane: Can we, Mom? Please? This is a really nice place, and I bet they have cable and everything.
Viki: Oh, Shane, we so have cable.
Shane: Oh, Mom, please -- please, I'll do anything. Just say yes, okay? Please, can we stay here?
Gigi: Stop begging.
Rex: Just like me.
Rex: No, I just meant that I was -- I was like that when I was his age. Intense, you know, with a -- well, a slight tendency to beg.
Shane: What does that mean, "intense"?
Rex: Just that you're a cool kid, Shane. Really cool.
Jack: Can I call Dad and see when he's coming home?
Blair: Sure. I'll get him on the phone. Ahem. Hey, it's Blair. Is Todd around? He's not there? No, I'll call later.
Jack: Try his cell.
Blair: Where are you?
Todd: I'm on my way home.
Ramsey: On a tight leash, huh? That makes sense. I didn't hear an "I love you."
Todd: Ramsey, you better shut your face.
Ramsey: Well, now, is that a way to talk to a man holding your future in his hands?
Matthew: What about an investment banker?
Bo: Matthew, I think I'm going to pass on that one. I -- I hear that's a -- that's a rough business.
Matthew: I got it -- a professional photographer. Mom's always telling you how great pictures you take.
Bo: Oh, son -- hey, thank you. Okay? I know you're just trying to help me, but I don't want a new career. I love being a cop, and, you know, the thought of doing anything else -- it's just -- it's -- it's not in the cards.
Clint: Bo, I disagree.
Viki: I'm actually quite surprised that Allison is still among the living. Because last night, she was not expected to make it.
Natalie: Yeah, well, have you ever heard the expression "too mean to die"?
Natalie: But even so, I think she's just barely hanging in there. She's probably not going to recover.
Viki: So this secret that she was taunting Jessie with --
Natalie: I guess we'll never know.
Rex: Oh, I don't know if you guys are busy, but Adriana and I were thinking of having a little Oscar party at our place.
Shane: When are the Oscars on?
Shane: Can we go, Mom? Please?
Gigi: Hmm, maybe. I'll think about it.
Rex: Oh, that basketball game that I'm taking you to -- I picked up your ticket.
Charlie: Oh, great. Hmm.
Rex: I kind of figured you might want to hold on to it in case you don't remember the date.
Charlie: Well, Rex, I wouldn't forget. I mean, I'm -- I'm looking forward to it.
Rex: Me, too.
Charlie: Yeah, good.
Adriana: So strange -- in a good way.
Adriana: That you're sitting across the breakfast table from your dad.
Rex: Like a normal family, huh?
Charlie: Yep, totally normal.
Jack: What'd he say?
Blair: Um -- he said he was on his way home.
Starr: Ooh, baby alert.
Blair: I'll go check on your little brother.
Jack: I'll come, too.
Jack: Can I carry him?
Blair: He's heavy, you can try. Come on.
Langston: Oh, I'll get that.
Cole: Hey, Langston, is Starr around you?
Cole: All right, well, don't tell her it's me, all right?
Langston: What's -- what's going on?
Cole: Hey, meet me at the church right away. It's really important. I have to talk to you.
Todd: Ramsey --
Todd: If you screw with me, or any member of my family --
Ramsey: Blah, blah, blah -- you got to get some new material, Todd.
Todd: So -- why Llanview, Lee? And why this job?
Ramsey: Why not? A nice friendly town, close to lots of big cities. A man could build a life here, spend the rest of his days.
Todd: Your days are numbered.
Clint: I was going to discuss this with you in private but, well, we're all family here, so --
Bo: Well, then just say it, Clint.
Clint: We need you at B.E.
Clint: Not even going to think about it?
Bo: It's not for me.
Clint: Hey, Pa wanted this to be a family business. He wanted everybody to be involved.
Jared: Forgive me for being presuming, but your name and reputation would be a big plus for B.E. -- and its stock.
Clint: Yeah, I agree with that. You being there would be a good thing.
Bo: Ah, that's what you say.
Clint: No -- I know that.
Bo: Look, I haven't even processed everything that happened last night, so I'm just not ready to make any big decisions.
Clint: Okay, fine, I understand that. You take your time.
Bo: I'm going to grab some fresh air.
Clint: You think this through, okay? Don't just rule it out.
Ramsey: Hurling all these threats at a brand-new police commissioner, carrying on the way you apparently have to do? You're not the brightest bulb in the lamp, are you?
Todd: You talk about building a life. From what I've seen, all you do is destroy lives. You have no life.
Ramsey: Yeah, you're right -- I donít. Remember that -- I have nothing to lose. But you do, don't you? And if you're not a good little crazy boy, you will.
Starr: So why did they hang up so quickly?
Starr: The person you were talking to just now on the phone?
Langston: Oh -- um -- that was just someone from group and they were just going through something and they wanted to meet up, so I'm going to go meet up with them.
Starr: Well, that's nice. They're lucky to have a friend like you. Because I know that whenever I'm going through a really bad time, you're the first person that I want to talk to -- even before Cole. Hmm.
Langston: That's -- that's really sweet.
Starr: Well, wait. It's not that I don't trust Cole -- I trust Cole a lot, but I just think it's like a girl thing, you know?
Langston: Right, definitely.
Starr: Okay, yeah, I kind of feel bad about saying that, so I'm going to call him.
Langston: Oh, well, you know, um --
Starr: Do I know, uh, what?
Langston: Maybe your Aunt Dorianís right -- maybe you should just wait until he calls you.
Starr: That sounds familiar.
Langston: What -- what?
Starr: Well, right now you're telling me not to call him and right after his mom died you told me to give him space and I did, but right now, I just want to call him and say "thank you for last night" and I miss him.
Langston: Okay, fine. Um -- I should go.
Gigi: Shane! Say "excuse me."
Shane: For what? It wasn't me.
Gigi: Everyone just heard you!
Charlie: No, I didn't hear a thing.
Rex: So if everybody's finished eating, I'll help clear the plates.
Viki: No, Rex, sit down -- you're a guest. Come on.
Rex: No, I'm already up, so I'll just -- you know, I'll take my plate and then Charlie's, then. You know me, I like to help.
Viki: I didn't know that, but now I do. Thank you. Ha!
Charlie: So, Shane, did your mom sign you up for little league?
Shane: Not here, not yet.
Charlie: Yeah. I see. I went to one of his games in Texas and let me tell you something -- this kid has got an arm on him.
Shane: Oh, you like baseball, huh?
Shane: It's my best sport, yeah. I was an all-star last year.
Natalie: You know, Charlie, I was thinking. I really wish I had gotten to spend time with you back in the day, you know, when you used to visit Roxy.
Charlie: Yeah, well, you know, I wasn't around that often. And actually, I don't think you would've wanted to spend much time with me -- I wasn't a very sociable person back then. I think that's why I missed so much of my son's life.
Rex: Hey, it's just as well you did miss out on my life growing up, especially the hell-raising days.
Gigi: Hmm. Well, actually, I was there for the hell-raising days. I mean, Rex and I were friends in high school.
Gigi: He may have been a hell-raiser, but he sure was funny, cracked everyone up.
Rex: That was my claim to fame back then -- good for a laugh. But now, I'm -- I'm -- I'm more of a man of substance, you know? But not really.
Rex: I'm working on it.
Adriana: You are a wonderful fiancť with a very big heart.
Natalie: I second that.
Rex: My fan club -- thanks.
Viki: Would you guys excuse me for a minute? I want to call Jessie, make sure she's all right. I'll be back.
Rex: Anyway, it's -- it's good to have you around now, Charlie -- Dad. Should I call you "Dad"? It feels a little strange.
Charlie: Um -- whatever you're comfortable with.
Rex: Well, like I said, it's -- it's good to have you around. Maybe I mentioned that once or twice?
Charlie: Well, I never mind hearing it. And I'm very glad to be getting to know you, too.
Viki: That's good, Nash. I'm glad she's still sleeping -- that was a terrible ordeal last night. Okay, well, give her my love and Bree and I'll call later. Bye-bye.
Charlie: So is Jessica okay?
Viki: Yes -- still sleeping, which is good. Rex and Adriana haven't left, have they?
Charlie: No, no, they're still here.
Viki: Oh, good.
Charlie: Listen, I just want to thank you for arranging this little breakfast, you know, giving me, you know, time with my son.
Viki: You're very, very welcome. Rex is delightful company, very charming -- almost as charming as his father.
Viki: It's okay, it's okay.
Natalie: So I guess you're going to have to get used to it -- all the interruptions with half of Llanview living here.
Viki: That's a slight exaggeration -- it's not half.
Natalie: Maybe all. Oh -- I'll get the door. Um -- I'll see you guys later.
Rex: Run the table?
Shane: Hook 'em, Horns.
Rex: Where'd you read that?
Shane: It was on TV.
Rex: And they didn't happen to mention a little team called UCLA -- the bad Bruins?
Shane: I swear, Texas is going to be the national champion.
Rex: Okay, in your dreams, hook 'em, Horns.
Shane: That is my dream -- to play for them.
Rex: Do you play now?
Shane: I wish but my mom won't let me.
Shane: But you let me play Little League.
Gigi: Well, there's not as much running in baseball, and, Shane, we've discussed this. Let's not go over it now, okay?
Rex: You know, I had asthma, too, when I was a kid, Shane, but I outgrew it.
Gigi: Shane's isn't the kind you outgrow.
Rex: No? Is it serious?
Gigi: Well, serious enough. They -- they know us pretty well in the E.R., huh, Shane?
Adriana: Oh. I better take this -- it might be important. Excuse me.
Adriana: Hey, what's going on?
Rex: You know, since you're such a basketball fan, maybe we'll take a run over to Philly, check out a Villanova game.
Adriana: You're kidding me. That's unbelievable. Oh -- oh, my God!
Rex: I'm taking Charlie, my dad, to a pro game, but I figure you and I are purists.
Rex: NCAA all the way. I'll -- I'll check out the big east schedule, see when the tournament starts.
Shane: The tournament. Wow, that'd be so cool.
Adriana: You are not going to believe this.
Rex: Long as it's okay with your mom.
Gigi: Fine with me.
Rex: Then we're on!
Dorian: Where's Langston?
Starr: Oh, um, her friend from the group therapy was having a problem, so Langston went to go help her out.
Dorian: Oh. She's a very special girl, such a -- a tender heart. Have you heard from Cole?
Starr: Well, I called him and now I'm texting him.
Dorian: Starr -- ooh!
Starr: Aunt Dorian, get off my back! I was calling him to say "thank you for last night," and he didn't pick up. And whenever that happens, I --
Starr: Well, it reminds me of when he was kidnapped.
Dorian: Oh, Starr.
Starr: Well, I just worry all the time that something bad is going to happen to him and not just him -- anybody that I love.
Blair: Well, nothing bad is going to happen because you know what? You are stuck with us!
Starr: Hey, Mom, didn't you say that Dad was on his way home, like, a couple of minutes ago? I mean, where is he?
Blair: Well, he -- that's what he said -- a couple of minutes.
Starr: Okay, well, wasn't he acting kind of weird last night?
Blair: Weird how?
Starr: I don't know -- he was just acting different.
Dorian: Todd acting weird -- how is that different?
Blair: Your father has a lot on his mind.
Starr: Oh, my God!
Starr: Hi. Oh.
Dorian: I'll let Jack know that you're here. He was anxious for you to get back.
Todd: You okay?
Starr: Actually, not really. I'm kind of worried about this, Dad. How could they have made Ramsey the new police commissioner -- after he pointed his gun at me and Langston?
Todd: Yes, I know. I remember that. Don't worry about it, though. Some things you never forget.
Natalie: Would you like to come in?
Jared: Thank you.
Natalie: You're feeling all right, I hope.
Jared: A little sore.
Natalie: And your wound?
Jared: Not that bad -- I got lucky.
Natalie: Yeah, so did Jessica. Well, I'm off to work.
Jared: I'll be in later. I just stopped by to thank Charlie again for last night.
Natalie: He's in the library. Bye.
Charlie: Jared. I'm surprised to see you here.
Jared: Yeah, well, I stopped by to see if you're okay and thank you again for saving my life. That's what I told Natalie anyway.
Charlie: But that's not the real reason?
Jared: No. Your photo in the paper, next to mine. If this thing goes nationwide, is there anyone out there who's going to blow our cover?
Viki: Jared, good morning. What brings you here?
Langston: Cole! What happened?
Cole: Langston, I'm sorry. I can't talk to Starr about this, all right? She'd be too upset. You're the only person I can talk to.
Starr: Well, Dad, is there maybe anything that you could do about it? I mean, maybe trash Ramsey in "The Sun"?
Todd: Hey! Big man. Whoa!
Jack: Guess who just woke up from his nap.
Todd: Let's see -- who lives here? Sam?
Jack: Yep, and he wants to play with you. Come on!
Todd: Okay, let's play. Okay, buddy, all right.
Jared: I came by to thank Charlie again -- for last night.
Viki: Well, that's very nice. Will you stay and have coffee with us?
Jared: Oh, no, thank you. I've got to get to work.
Viki: Okay. Once again, Jared, we are unbelievably grateful to you for what you did for Jessie last night.
Jared: She's family. I'd do anything for family.
Viki: It was a terrible experience that boy went through last night. But you know what? You saved his life, and I suppose that means you two will have a connection forever.
Charlie: Yeah. That's true.
Viki: It's actually quite remarkable what a large extended family you already have here.
Charlie: I feel very lucky.
Viki: I hope you'll feel at home here for a long time.
Rex: Would you want to come with us? Adriana?
Rex: With Shane and me to a basketball game?
Adriana: I don't know, maybe.
Gigi: Shane, help me clear these dishes, okay?
Rex: "Maybe" you'll come? What was that all about?
Adriana: It's about being ignored. I don't like it.
Adriana: I just told you just now that I had great news and you didn't even look at me.
Rex: Great news? When did you --
Adriana: When I got off the phone! But you were so focused on ingratiating yourself with Shane.
Rex: He's a kid! I was being friendly!
Rex: What was the news, Adriana?
Adriana: It was an amazing offer for the company.
Rex: You're kidding. Oh, that's great, I'm so happy for you! Look, I'm sorry that I was distracted before. Tell me more.
Adriana: Well, I have to go to Paris for two weeks, maybe longer.
Rex: Wow! Is it so you can work with that -- that famous designer, Valerie Greer, Gardash--
Adriana: Grinkova, Grinkova.
Rex: I knew it started with a G.
Adriana: Yeah, anyway, it's really exciting and I want you to come with me.
Rex: Oh. Um -- well, I mean, I'll -- I'll be busy getting U.V. out of near bankruptcy so I can afford our wedding.
Adriana: Rex, the bride's family pays for the wedding.
Rex: Oh, yeah -- what a break.
Adriana: So you'll come with me, right? Yes or no?
Rex: Oh, well, I mean, it's not such a great time for me to leave town. I just met my dad and --
Adriana: Fine -- then I won't go, either.
Adriana: I'll stay in Llanview with you.
Rex: Uh, I -- I don't get it. Adriana, why -- why would you pass this up, an offer to go to Paris?
Adriana: Because I -- I don't want to go without you.
Rex: Oh, I get it. You don't trust me.
Matthew: I got to go find him.
Nora: No, Matthew -- Matthew, Matthew, Matthew. He'll be back soon, okay? He'll be back soon.
Matthew: Then I'm going to call him.
Nora: Honey? Come here -- hey, hey. Let's just give him a little time to himself, all right?
Clint: Matthew, let me tell you something. Your dad is worried that you're disappointed that he's not the police commissioner anymore, and I think the best way to help him is to show him that you're still proud of him.
Matthew: I don't have to show him that. He already knows. I don't care what job he has. I just don't want him to be disappointed.
Nora: Hey. You're a great kid.
Matthew: I got a lot of homework.
Clint: You're doing a good job. He's a great kid.
Nora: He's very sensitive and very compassionate.
Clint: Like his mommy.
Nora: Oh, my God. We have a moment alone.
Clint: Oh, my God.
Nora: A very short one.
Clint: Yeah, well, I'll let voicemail pick up.
Nora: Oh, no, no. I think you probably should pick it up in case it's Bo. Matthew would want to talk to him.
Clint: Yeah, you're right. Hello? Not Bo.
Clint: Uh -- yeah. I see. Understood.
Clint: When Asa died, they smelled blood in the water.
Clint: His enemies. Asa had plenty.
Nora: I don't understand.
Clint: I knew that they would wait for a respectable amount of time before they moved in for the kill.
Nora: And now?
Clint: Wait is over.
Ramsey: Who's this? We're in a police station, not a dry cleaner.
Bo: If you want that arm to stay in one piece, I wouldn't touch that.
>> On the next "One Life to Live" --
Markko: You got nothing to worry about.
Cole: Starr is the last person I can talk to about this.
Antonio: Bo's been replaced.
John: How do you replace Bo?
Bo: I came for my things.
Ramsey: I started a box.
Rex: This is about Shane -- you still think I'm his father.
