John: Oh, you think thatís funny, do you? Huh? Giving me the raspberry with the oatmeal? Come on, little man, you got to eat, please. Please, I beg you. Look -- whereís your toy? Look at this. No?

Judge: The DNA test results prove the child in question, Thomas John McBain, is the biological son of Todd Manning.

Woman: Oh.

Lawyer: Your honor, I move that the child be immediately turned over to the custody of Mr. Manning.

Judy: Your honor, we have ample grounds for the court to deny Mr. Manning custody and allow the boy to stay --

Todd: What?

Judy: With the McBains.

Judge: What are the grounds, Ms. Schulman Brown?

Judy: Todd Manning is an unfit parent and should not be allowed anywhere near Thomas McBain especially since Mr. Manning has already tried to kill the child.

Nash: You know, I havenít even finished paying for that sofa yet. Just promise me you'll ask for a bucket or something if you need it?

Natalie: Thatís not a bad idea.

Nash: Tequila, huh?

Jared: Whoa, go easy there.

Natalie: After we ran out of the vodka.

Nash: Vodka, tequila -- didnít anybody ever tell you "never mix, never worry"?

Natalie: I guess I wasnít listening.

Nash: Right. You know what I donít get? Why did Jessica leave you here to puke all over my furniture? What was so damn important?

[Knock on door]

[Jessica punches Jared in the stomach when he answers the door]

Jared: Oh! Oh -- you feel better?

Jessica: Not yet. Ah --

Jared: Now, you donít want to do that.

Jessica: You donít know what I want.

Jared: Well, itís good to see marriage and motherhood hasnít completely domesticated you. I was beginning to think there wasnít anything left of the girl I knew.

Jessica: Stay away from my sister.

Jared: You jealous?

Jessica: Huh.

Adriana: Hey, Roxy.

Roxy: Oh, good, you got my message.

Adriana: Uh-huh.

Rex: Nice shirt.

Roxy: You think so, huh?

[Adriana chuckles]

Roxy: Um -- let me ask you some advice.

Adriana: Uh-huh?

Roxy: Where do I get these mass-seduced?

Rex: I'm praying you're talking about the shirts.

Roxy: You better believe I am. But itís part of my major campaign here. Ok, the first thing is, I got to let everybody know that Lindsay was railroaded. Second of all, you know, I got to, you know, drum up a lot of support for Marcie and Michael. So how many can I count you in for?

Rex: Uh -- I donít think you're going to need to do this.

Roxy: And why is that?

Rex: I gave Michael and Marcie something they can use against Todd in court.

[Tommy fusses]

John: Why? Come on, one time. Here -- look, look. Watch -- watch Uncle John. Mmm, mmm. Mmm. Itís good. Oh, itís so good.

[Knock on door]

[Tommy fusses]

John: Please? Got to eat, little man. Ah. Yikes.

[Tommy cries]

Marty: Well, I donít know whether my timing is lousy, or -- or great.

Todd: That is crazy, your honor!

Judy: This is exactly the kind of behavior I was talking about, your honor.

Todd: Shut up, bitch!

Judge: Sit down, Mr. Manning, and shut up.

Todd: You're doing everything you can to keep me away from my child -- thatís my child!

Michael: Heís where he belongs!

Todd: If you try to do this, I swear to God --

Judge: Mr. Manning!

Judy: Or you'll what, Mr. Manning? Strangle them? Shoot them? Those are the things you tried to do to Tommy McBain. This is the animal petitioning for parental rights over a Toddler, your honor. Ruling in his favor is like giving that baby a death sentence.

Roxy: So what are you doing here? Come for a his and her wax or something?

Adriana: Oh --

Rex: Maybe another time.

Adriana: We came because we have some really good news.

Roxy: Oh, my God. You're pregnant!

Dorian: Pregnant?

Adriana: Uh --

Jared: I have a policy about married women. Not unless itís absolutely unavoidable.

Jessica: Stay away from my sister.

Jared: I donít know what you think happened here, but Natalie came here all on her own. When I offered her a drink, she practically tore the bottle from my hand.

Jessica: Leave my sister alone.

Jared: You're not in any --

Jessica: Because if I find out that you made one move on my sister --

Jared: Then what?

Jessica: Then --

Jared: Huh? What? Got to tell your hubby? Tell the rest of the family? You know, because that means telling them how you know me. Ok? So you can shake that fist and stomp those size eights all you want. You're shooting blanks.

Jessica: Well, I'm a Buchanan, d this here is a Buchanan town, so --

Jared: Well, then if itís so important to you, I'll keep my distance from Natalie.

Jessica: Good.

Jared: But I want something in return.

Natalie: So how do you know so much about hangovers?

Nash: I worked in a lot of bars.

Natalie: Is that how you knew about the tequila?

Nash: No. Smell. You reek.

Natalie: Oh, my God, I'm so -- I'm -- I'm so embarrassed. I'm sorry.

Nash: Itís all right, itís all right.

Natalie: You -- no, you donít have to baby-sit me. I'm sure you have much better things to do.

Nash: Actually, I donít. Breeís over with your dad. Everythingís fine at the vineyard. Figure I'll take this opportunity to score some points with the sister-in-law who hates me.

Natalie: No, itís -- I -- I really like Antonio, you know?

Nash: Yeah, I know.

Natalie: You make my sister very happy. Which in turn makes me very happy.

Nash: Thank you. Well, since we're all feeling so happy, how about you tell me what happened that made you go put one on last night?

John: Enter at your own risk.

Marty: Yeah. Itís amazing how much of a mess one little person can make.

John: Are you kidding me? The kid never stops.

Marty: Yeah, Cole was like that. He was into everything. You know, Patrick wanted to get him one of those kid harnesses, but thatís where I drew the line.

John: Right. GPS, maybe. Uh -- I kind of draw the line at the leash.

Marty: So, trying to have breakfast?

John: Well -- all right, t, itís ok. We were -- we were trying.

[Tommy fusses]

John: It wasnít -- it wasnít going too well, you know? Every time I -- I offered him the spoon -- I know, buddy. Every time I offered him the spoon, you know, he -- he either turned his head or he threw it at me.

Marty: Well, he must be almost 2. You know, you can actually try letting him feed himself.

John: You're kidding me, right?

Marty: No, no. Just load up the spoon and, you know, let him have at it. Or you can just put some dry cereal in a bowl and see what happens.

John: Now you tell me. All right, well, I'll keep that in mind. Maybe -- maybe you'll let me try that, t?

Marty: Hey. Well -- um -- I'll let you have this time with -- with Tommy.

John: Oh. Ok. Well, you know, you -- you donít have to go. I -- I could use the advice.

Marty: Oh, I guess I could stay.

John: I hope you like oatmeal.

Marty: You wear it well.

Todd: You two think you're such good people, such pillars of the community.

Judge: Quiet, Mr. Manning.

Todd: But you getting down in the mud to play dirty like that.

Starr: Dad, please stop! Dad!

Todd: Sit down, Starr.

Starr: You are making her case for her. Now, if you donít stop, you're never going to bring my brother home.

Todd: Sorry, your honor. Please forgive me.

Lawyer: Your honor, my client has apologized for his conduct. But we were blindsided by this unfair and spurious attack on his character.

Judy: These charges arenít spurious, your honor, they're documented facts.

Todd: How is that -- how could I have tried to kill him? I have never been alone with him.

Judge: Mr. Manning, I'm warning you. One more outburst like that, and you'll be hearing my decision from inside of a jail cell.

Lawyer: What my client says is correct. How can counsel possibly back these charges up?

Judge: Ms. Schulman Brown?

Judy: With a lot of good old-fashioned sworn testimony. If I may, I'd like to read it into the record.

Dorian: You're pregnant, Adriana?

Roxy: Isnít that great?

Dorian: "Great"? My daughterís life is ruined.

Roxy: Why?

Rex: Ladies, nobodyís pregnant.

Adriana: Uh-uh.

Dorian: Then why did you say you were?

Adriana: I said I had news.

Roxy: Oh, 'cause you had all that good alone time together. You know -- you know what I mean.

Dorian: Oh, give us all a break.

Adriana: Ok, ok. We are happy, and we do have news, but were so not having a baby.

Roxy: Oh.

Dorian: Thank heaven. Huh.

Adriana: Whatís going on with your hair, Mom?

Dorian: Oh, I went to my stylist for a trim, and he cut it too short, and I just hated it. So I remembered that she said she'd give me a makeover, and she said --

Adriana: Ok, we got it, we got it! Yep, yep. Yep. Ok, thank you. Look, we were going to come to you next --

Rex: So you might as well hear it at the same time.

Adriana: We're moving in together.

Roxy: Oh, thatís beautiful.

Adriana: Yeah.

Dorian: Oh.

Rex: Come on. It beats being pregnant, right?

Nash: You still havenít told me why you tied one on last night.

Natalie: Who needs a reason?

Nash: You do. You're a Buchanan. I've been around Buchanans for a while. And except for Tess, who was kind of rebelling against Buchanans, I've never seen a Buchanan drink too much. And besides, you're usually pretty quick to say exactly whatís on your mind, and here you are l curled up, hung-over, and not saying a thing -- clammed up. Something pretty crappy must have happened to you. All right. Bye. Ahem.

Natalie: I walked in on John and Marty kissing last night. My ex-boyfriend was kissing another woman. And all I wanted to do was blot that picture out of my mind.

Jessica: I'm not using my sister as bargaining chip.

Jared: I'm not asking you, I'm telling you. This is a good deal.

Jessica: I donít want to make deals with you. Itís bad enough that you're Nashís business partner.

Jared: And I've kept my mouth shut there, havenít I?

Jessica: Keep it that way.

Jared: Oh -- no.

Jessica: Hey, what do you think you're doing?

Jared: I'm showing you who has the upper hand here. If it werenít for me, your current husband would still be in business with your ex-husband. I came to his rescue, and you treat me like the help.

Jessica: Look, my husband, my daughter, and most of my family have been dealing with the fallout from my crazy past. And as soon as I think I have shut the door on everything, you showed up.

Jared: And I kept my mouth shut. Now I need a favor from you.

Jessica: "What"? What do you want?

Jared: The job that Natalie turned me down for. I want it.

Jessica: Oh. Well, you're out of luck.

Jared: I -- I donít think so. Now you're on my side, and, well, we both know how persuasive you can be.

Lawyer: Your honor, nothing trumps the fact that Mr. Manning is this boyís biological father. He never signed away his rights as father because he wanted to find and raise his son. Now, this nullifies the McBains' adoption of the child they call Tommy.

Judge: What do you have to say to that, Ms. Schulman Brown?

Judy: Biology is one thing, the childís welfare is another. As I know your honor is aware, when a child is too young to speak on his own behalf, the standard to be applied is, what is in the best interests of t child. The guardians to whom Tommy McBain is appointed must be proven fit. It is incumbent upon the court to review any evidence that calls into question a potential parentís suitability.

Starr: What is she talking about?

Blair: I donít know, sweetie.

Judge: I'll let you make your case, but I donít have any patience for theatrics.

Judy: I'll let the facts speak for themselves. This is a sworn deposition given by Dr. Spencer Truman regarding his treatment of patient Todd Manning for a ab wound he received in August of 2005.

Lawyer: Objection.

Judge: State your grounds.

Lawyer: This is a clear breach of doctor/patient confidentiality.

Judy: Your honor, the statement is a matter of public record in another trial. Surely itís admissible.

Judge: Go ahead.

Todd: You cannot let her talk about this.

Lawyer: I donít have a choice. I've been overruled.

Judy: In this statement, Mr. Manning confessed to Dr. Truman that he had been stabbed by a woman named Margaret Cochran. At the time, Ms. Cochran was pregnant by Mr. Manning and was defending herself. Upon learning that she was pregnant, Mr. Manning tried to strangle her to death.

Lawyer: Objection. Dr. Truman is dead, which means there is no possibility for a cross-examination. And these are the ravings of a man who was ready to let Todd Manning be executed for Ms. Cochranís murder when he knew for a fact Ms. Cochran was still alive.

Judge: You better have something better than this, counselor.

Judy: Of course, your honor, and I do.

Adriana: Canít you be happy for us, just this once?

Dorian: I am happy. I'm happy that you're happy.

Rex: That was good.

Adriana: I'm hearing a "but."

Dorian: I'm just disappointed.

Adriana: Oh, Mom --

Dorian: But why did you feel you had to practice telling the news in front of Roxy before you told me? But never mind. I'll forget about that.

Adriana: Hmm.

Dorian: I'm happy for you, both.

Adriana: We only were going to tell Roxy first because we knew that she'd be all for the idea.

Dorian: Why do you think I'm so difficult to please?

Adriana: I know you've been trying very hard for the past year.

Roxy: Clint Buchanan -- oh, he can really make a woman mellow. I'll bet he can. Sorry.

Adriana: But you did do everything you could to try to break me and Rex up.

Dorian: I paid the price. I mean, it nearly destroyed our relationship. You wouldnít speak to me. Goodness, you think I'd risk that happening again?

Rex: Why not? You hired a guy to stalk Adriana and tried to convince her it was me.

Dorian: Rex, if you're going to dwell in the past --

Rex: I -- no, I'm just trying to explain why we have of a wait-and-see attitude about you.

Dorian: Well, I hope you are going to see -- ahem -- that I'm worthy of your trust.

Rex: I'll come over for dinner some night. I'll make Roxyís meatloaf.

Dorian: I can do better than that. Right now, you'll see. Hmm.

John: Heís out cold.

Marty: Well, you know, once you get their tummies full, itís a lot easier to get them to sleep.

John: Ok, I'll try to remember that.

Marty: You're really good with him.

John: Hmm. You cleaned up.

Marty: Oh, yeah. You know, in my DNA -- I canít help myself.

John: Right. So you want to tell me why you came by?

Marty: Right -- um -- I donít think so. Yeah.

John: Marty?

[Marty sighs]

Marty: Look, it was -- it was just a stupid idea, ok? Just a really stupid idea.

John: What?

[Marty sighs]

John: Itís paper.

Marty: See? I told you it was a stupid idea.

John: Oh, no, this is your -- this is your top-flight stuff, and everybody needs paper, right?

Marty: Thatís not the whole present.

John: Oh.

Marty: I --

John: "The Big Book of Paper Airplanes."

Marty: Yeah, I know. Itís a gift for a 7-year-old. I know what you're going to say. Itís --

John: I'm not saying anything. I'm --

Marty: No, you made that paper airplane for me out of my marriage certificate, and when I saw it just, you know, fly out over the water, I felt all the stupid feelings I had about marrying miles just, you know, fly away with it, and I know how much you love your father, and you said that he was the one who taught you how to make the paper airplanes, so I thought that maybe, you know, I could get you this and you could show Tommy what your father showed you, and -- oh, this was a stupid idea.

[Marty chuckles]

John: Wait.

John: Thank you.

Starr: Dad? Dad? Hey. Donít let that lawyer get to you.

Todd: Threw me a little curve, but I'm ok.

Judge: All right, letís get on with this.

Judy: Todd Manning hated his childís mother, a very unstable woman. Our point is that he lost control and could have killed her on three separate occasions, in spite of the fact that she was pregnant with his child.

Lawyer: Objection. This is irrelevant.

Judge: Overruled. Connect the dots, counselor, and do it quickly.

Judy: I'd like to read a section from the transcript. This is the defense during cross-examination. "Why did you go down to the lake that night, Mr. Manning?" "I was going to kill her." By his own admission, under oath, he went to Llantano Lake to kill a woman who was obviously pregnant with his child. He could not separate the mother from the child. He could not spare the mother in order to protect the child.

Lawyer: Objection. Ms. Cochran died in an automobile accident. My client did not kill her.

Judge: Make your point.

Judy: Tommy is not the child of a loving relationship. Mr. Manning proved three times that he had no self-control when it came to his childís mother. What if Mr. Manning is awarded custody and he finds that he canít look at his son without seeing Ms. Cochran and the things that she did? What if Tommy begins to remind him of Ms. Cochran? What if Tommy has a bad reaction to being taken away from Dr. And Mrs. McBain? What if he acts out or misbehaves? Will Mr. Manning lose control again and forget heís dealing with a child? Why take that chance? Leave Tommy with Michael and Marcie McBain. They are loving parents, and the only ones Tommyís ever known. Donít give him to the man who didnít care if he died. With real fruit and no preservatives, graduates

Judy: We would also like to request psychiatric evaluations r the two other children in Mr. Manningís custody --

Blair: Ok --

Judy: Starr and Jack Manning.

Blair: All right, thatís it. You know, there is nothing wrong --

Judge: Silence.

Blair: With Jack and Starr!

Judge: Sit down.

Blair: Thereís nothing wrong with them!

Judge: Sit down!

Blair: Uh --

Judge: I'm going to call a recess, and I strongly suggest everyone in this room use that time to collect themselves. The bailiff will stay here to keep order.

Bailiff: All rise.

Judy: I'd say itís a whole new ballgame.

Marcie: Judy, look, um -- can we afford to back off right now, because, uh --

Judy: Not if we want to win. Morgan is right Ė Toddís rights as a father are undeniable. The only chance we have is to crucify him.

Todd: Why are you letting this bitch get away with calling me a kid killer?

Morgan: Sheís doing the only thing she can.

Starr: Dad?

Todd: Hmm?

Starr: Put me on the stand.

Todd: What?

Starr: I can show that judge what kind of father you really are.

Morgan: Sheís asked for the psych consult. We could put Starr on the stand and try to say it isnít necessary.

Todd: And you think that sheís going to go easy on Starr because Starrís a kid? No way.

Starr: I think I can take care of myself, dad.

Todd: Honey? You know that I havenít exactly led an exemplary life, and they're going to force all that out of you and make you admit it all happened.

Starr: Even when all of it did, we got through it. No matter how furious I was, I never doubted for one minute that you loved me or that I loved you. Isnít that being a good father?

Todd: Hmm. I just donít want you to hear all this garbage.

Blair: Listen, I'll -- I'll take her home.

Starr: No.

Blair: Come on.

Todd: Hey -- really. If you want to help me, you should go.

Starr: No!

Blair: Yes, Starr. Come on, grab your purse. Todd, you hang tough. Here.

Starr: I know that you two love my little brother. But what you're doing is wrong. My dad is not the person that you're saying he is.

Marcie: Starr, I'm -- I'm really sorry. I am, I know that you're upset, but we're just doing what we have to for our son.

Blair: Come on, Starr. Letís go. Come on.

Michael: You're right. You are right, ok? Look -- at the lives, look at the lives that Starr and Jack have had to lead because they have lived with Todd Manning. All we're doing here is protecting our son. Thereís nothing wrong with that.

Roxy: Dorian Lord in Rodiís -- I never thought I'd see the day.

Rex: Yeah, I'll believe it when I see you hoist that beer.

Dorian: Oh, I enjoy a beer every now and then.

Rex: What are you going to do for an encore -- join a bowling league?

Adriana: Ok, honey, we're trying to make a good -- a new start here.

Dorian: Yeah. I realize my coming to Rodiís is hardly an enormous gesture, but, yeah, I hope it is the beginning of a new detente between all of us.

Rex: To Dorian.

Dorian: Uh-uh. No -- to Rex and to Adriana.

Roxy: No, no -- to the four of us, because someday we're all going to be related.

Adriana: Huh. Ahem.

Natalie: No matter what I feel for John, I didnít love our life together. You know, and even if we got back together now, no -- no one and nothing is going to promise me that things would be different.

Nash: You're tough.

Natalie: Yeah. And you donít like that, right?

Nash: No, I like tough. Tess was tough -- tough, tough, tough.

Natalie: Yeah. Well, I donít think I'm going to be so tough tonight when I'm sober --

Nash: Hmm.

Natalie: And I am left to deal with how I really feel about John and Marty kissing.

Nash: I had to watch Jessica with Antonio -- a lot. If you want to talk, call me.

Natalie: Thanks, I might do that.

Jessica: I canít get you a job at B.E. -- I donít even work there.

Jared: You'll figure it out.

Jessica: Huh. If I start selling you to Natalie, sheís going to get suspicious.

Jared: I think you should try, for Natalieís sake and your own.

Jessica: Are you threatening me?

Jared: No, honey. I'm just offering you a chance at true peace of mind. Now, if you'll excuse me --

Jessica: Why do you even want the job at B.E.? You already own half a vineyard.

Jared: You've heard my terms. Now all you got to do is come through. And if you need any motivation, take a good look at that handsome husband of yours and that beautiful little child, because you stand to lose them. Nash: Ha-ha!

Natalie: What?

Jessica: You two telling bar stories?

Nash: Oh -- hey, honey bunny.

Jessica: Hey.

Nash: How you been? Where you been?

Jessica: Um -- well, I -- Toddís in court today, so I went by the paper to make sure everything was ok. I wouldnít think you'd want to talk about anything to do with drinking today.

Natalie: You know what? Honestly, I am feeling so much better thanks to your man here.

Nash: Yeah, I administered the three-step hangover cure.

Jessica: Oh -- ok. Yore getting along with Nash? Who are you and what did you do with my sister?

Natalie: Ok, itís the new me, all right, and I am, like, never drinking anything that strong again unless itís -- tea.

Nash: Until tomorrow night. Ha!

Marty: So what model is that?

John: Thatís your F-16.

Marty: Nice.

[Tommy fusses]

John: Did you hear something?

Marty: Uh-uh.

Marty: No, no, just wait a minute. No, heís just, you know, moving around and getting comfortable in his sleep.

John: Yeah?

Marty: Yeah. You know, I'm impressed -- you already have your parents' sixth sense already.

John: Thereís no sixth sense. I'm just being the uncle.

Marty: So you donít ever look at him and wish you had one of those?

John: No. What made you want one?

Marty: I fell in love with Patrick. You know, we got married and I just couldnít wait to see what our kids would look like.

John: I think he looks like you.

Marty: I donít know. I think he looks like his dad.

John: What you said, you know, was true.

Marty: What did I say?

John: Before you even think about having kids, you have to find the right person.

Marcie: Mike, Tommy should be up from his morning nap, so I think I'm going to call John and make sure everythingís ok.

Michael: Yeah. Honey, if thatís going to make you feel better, you go and do it.

Marcie: Uh-uh, the only thing thatís going to make me feel better right now, Michael, is to make sure Tommy stays with us.

Morgan: You know, when I took this case, you might have told me you tried to -- to strangle the kidís mother.

Todd: Yeah, but sheís making Margaret seem like an ordinary pregnant woman. She wasnít -- she was nuts.

Morgan: Yeah, but your son wasnít. He was an innocent victim -- your victim.

Todd: Yeah, well, I'm still his father. They're nothing.

Morgan: Ok, Todd, when we reconvene, you have got to keep it together. No matter what Judy throws at us, you canít look like the man sheís describing.

Todd: Right.

Morgan: Can you brief me on what else to expect? Have we at least heard the rest of it?

Todd: Why? Think we could lose?

Roxy: That'll be glass. Anyway --

Blair: Am I seeing things?

Starr: Aunt Dorian is at Rodiís and sheís drinking a beer?

Blair: No, I'm talking about her hair. Come on.

Dorian: You know --

Blair: Hey, everyone.

Dorian: Itís kind of, like, strange.

Blair: Hello.

Dorian: Hey, hey.

Roxy: Hi!

Dorian: Hell, well, pull up a chair.

Blair: You look very interesting, Dorian, and you're drinking a beer.

Starr: Yeah, at lunch.

Dorian: I thought I'd broaden my horizons.

Blair: Really?

Dorian: Where have you two been?

Blair: We were at the courthouse with Todd.

Rex: What happened?

Blair: Well, the DNA test results came in and Tommy is indeed Toddís son, so thatís great.

Starr: Yeah, and then the McBains' lawyer came in with information on Margaret and my dad. She made it seem like my dad was the psycho and Margaret was the victim. Oh, yeah -- and then, she said that my dad was trying to kill the baby when really, he was just trying to protect himself.

Blair: Ok, you know what? Your dad will get a chance to talk.

Starr: No -- the lawyer didnít even see that coming, Mom.

Blair: Starr, itís ok.

Starr: It was ridiculous!

Blair: I know, I know.

Roxy: Hey, Rex, is this what you did?

Rex: I donít know what you're talking about.

Roxy: You know, you said you had a little something for Marcie and Michael?

Blair: Rex? Rex, you did this to Todd? Re yeah, it was me.

Blair: You son of a --

Rex: Hey, hey, hey, I, I, I --

Blair: He said that you were his friend! How could you do that?

Jessica: You're actually going o to work

Natalie: After about a 45-minute to four-hour shower, but --

[Nash laughs]

Natalie: Anyway, guys, I canít even thank you -- thank you so much for everything you've done. Mean it.

Jessica: Have a good day at work.

Natalie: Hmm. Thanks.

[Phone chirps]

Natalie: See ya.

Jessica: Bye, Natty.

Nash: See ya.

Jessica: So, you and Natalie are friends -- when did that happen?

Nash: Oh, I'll explain just as soon as you explain why you so suddenly had to take off for work.

Jessica: I -- um -- Toddís in the middle of this messy custody hearing and I -- I just wanted to make sure that "The Sunís" coverage wouldnít screw things up for him.

Nash: But you're not recovered yet.

Jessica: Itís not like I'm going back full-time. You know, sometimes a family member is the only one that knows what to do.

Nash: All right. I'm going to go get Bree at your dadís.

Jessica: Ok, thanks. Bye.

Nash: Bye.

[Phone chirps]

[Phone chirps]

Jared: Hi. Uh -- I'm furnishing my office and I like your executive line. Not a problem. I got plenty of space to work with. Yeah.

Marty: So you've never been with anybody, you know, who makes you think about wanting to start a family?

John: Itís me. I'm -- I'm the one whoís not right.

Marty: Oh, now, I donít agree with that. Look, when Cole was going through all of his problems, you were the only one he would open up to. You -- you know, you listened and you didnít put pressure on him.

John: Kid puts pressure on elf.

Marty: You'd make a great father. I should go. You know -- no, I'm not going to go, yet. Um -- I kissed you yesterday.

John: I know -- I was there.

Marty: Yes, you were there, and if a patient had come to me and said that they had kissed a friend of theirs, I would say that they had, you know, crossed certain boundaries and -- and I know how important boundaries are to you. They're very big to you and I didnít want you to think that, you know -- look, our friendship, it means a lot to me and I really donít --

Dorian: Blair?

Roxy: Hey, hey, hey, hey!

Dorian: Come on!

Adriana: Blair, stop it!

Starr: What the matter with you? You're acting like Dad --

Blair: Stop it!

Starr: Calm down.

Blair: Stop it. I know what your father went through the minute his son was born, and so do you, Rex. He hired you to help him find him. What are you doing? You're -- you're working for Michael and Marcieís attorney?

Rex: Thatís right, and I'd do it again.

Blair: You better not do it again --

Roxy: No!

Adriana: Blair!

Blair: This little case is between Todd and Michael and Marcie McBain. Rex shouldnít have stuck his nose in it. I have a daughter here -- you see what itís doing to her? If you're with Rex, I'm not going to have anything to do with you.:

Blair: I mean it, Dorian! You either dump Rex, or as far as I'm concerned, you're not part of this family.

Todd: You think I could lose my son?

Morgan: Judy made a very persuasive case against you having custody of this particular child.

Todd: But I havenít had a chance to defend myself.

Morgan: You defend yourself, you're going to look defensive. Sheís got us on the run.

Bailiff: All rise.

Judge: Please take your seats. You, too, Ms. Schulman Brown. I spent this recess thinking about the argument I just heard, and I'm appalled by Mr. Manningís actions and am tempted to say Ms. Schulman Brown has made a prima facie case for awarding custody to the McBains. I'm only saying this because I want Mr. Manning and his counsel to understand how serious this situation is. I need to hear what possible explanation Mr. Manning has for his horrific actions.

Morgan: Ok, this is your shot.

Judge: Mr. Manning, floor is yours.

On the next "One Life to Live" --

Lindsay: I told you not to come.

Will: How could I not?

Marty: Why did you do that?

John: I just had to get you to stop talking.

Blair: If I find out that Rex has done anything else, heís going to have to answer to me.

Todd: I swear to tell the truth.
