Rex: You're not going to believe this.
Adriana: What? Is there something in your cereal? What's this?
Rex: It's a message.
Adriana: A message?
Rex: It spells out "I love you."
Adriana: And this isnít even the alphabet stuff.
Rex: Yeah, which makes it more amazing. You see how the granola forms the I and --
Adriana: You are so full of it.
Rex: But it's a good excuse to kiss you.
Adriana: Mm-hmm. Like you need an excuse.
[Knock on door]
Rex: You expecting anybody?
Rex: Well, then I'll get rid of whoever it is.
Rex: What are you doing here?
Tate: I brought breakfast.
Clint: D, I just wanted to call and tell you how much I enjoyed dinner the other night, and despite the fireworks, I think that we should do it again soon. So why donít you give me a call? Bye.
Nash: Hi. I'm sorry, I hope you donít mind me busting in like this, but I really had to talk to you.
Clint: Sounds serious.
Nash: Yeah, it is.
Clint: So what's wrong?
Nash: Everything. It's your daughter's fault, again.
Carlotta: I'm so glad the two of you stopped by. Sit, sit, sit. I'll get you some breakfast.
Antonio: No, no, Mami, we didnít come to eat.
Carlotta: Well, what's going on?
Antonio: Should I tell her, or do you --
Jessica: Um --
Carlotta: One of you, please, just tell me.
Jessica: As of today, I'm going to officially be Jamie's mommy.
Antonio: That's right, Mami.
Antonio: The adoption hearing's this afternoon.
Carlotta: Oh, mijo, that's wonderful! Oh. And, Jessica, I -- I couldnít ask for a better mother for my granddaughter. You must be so happy.
Michael: All right --
Marcie: Mike, I forgot to tell you -- you know the spring musical that they do at the school?
Michael: You're Starring in it?
Marcie: I didnít even star in it when I was in high school. Please.
Michael: Well, you know, these high school directors, what do they know?
Marcie: Well, I hope this one knows a lot, because they asked me to do it.
Michael: No way.
Marcie: Yes way.
Marcie: Yeah, so -- um -- you know, do you think it would be ok if I did it?
Michael: Yeah, I canít believe you'd even ask me something like that.
Marcie: Well, you know, I mean, I donít want to -- to take away a lot of time from you and Tommy, but -- well, it's going to be great. They're doing "Oklahoma," which has always been my favorite.
Michael: That's the one about the cowboys, right?
Michael: Kind of old-fashioned, donít you think?
Marcie: Old-fashioned? Mike, it's a classic.
Michael: Well, yeah, I know, but we're talking about high school kids, Marce. I mean, maybe you should do some sort of rock thing.
Marcie: Look, it doesnít matter. It doesnít matter what musical it is, right? Because it's going to be fun. We're going to work together toward Michael. This is going to be great. These kids really need it.
Michael: You really want to do this, huh?
Marcie: Yeah, I really do. But look, like I said, if it's going to take away time from you and Tommy, then I donít need to do this.
Michael: We'll work something out.
Michael: Yeah. Because when momma's happy, everybody's happy, huh? Huh? Huh?
Marcie: I am happy, even if I -- even if I donít do this. You know? Because -- well, I've got everything that I have ever wanted in my life right here, right now.
Blair: Good morning, beautiful. I made breakfast.
Starr: I'm not hungry.
Blair: Oh, come on, Starr, you got to eat something.
Starr: I canít, ok?
Blair: Look, I know that you're upset about breaking up with Cole.
Starr: Hmm, you think?
Blair: I'm sorry that I wasnít there for you.
Starr: Like you would have done anything anyway.
Blair: Well, I would have tried to help.
Starr: You would have he me get back together with Cole?
Blair: No, because I think you did the right thing.
Starr: All right. Well, it doesnít matter what you think, because I'm not going to be with him anymore.
Blair: Starr, listen to me. I know that it hurts to let him go.
Starr: I did it so that dad wouldnít kill Cole. And so that dad's new girlfriend, the D.A., wouldnít throw him in jail.
[Knock on door]
Evangeline: Hey, I just need a -- hey.
Layla: You expecting someone else?
Evangeline: My ride, actually.
Layla: Are you going on a trip?
Evangeline: To Chicago.
Layla: And you werenít going to tell your sister?
Evangeline: Just for a few days. Come on in.
Layla: I love Chicago! Remember when you were dating that guy on the Bulls?
Evangeline: Actually, it was on the Bears. And we werenít dating. He was a client.
Layla: Hmm. He liked you enough. He took us both all over the city, spent buckets full of cash, is this another case?
Evangeline: You could say that.
Layla: Well, why donít I come with you? I could take off for a few days.
Evangeline: Layla, I'm going with Todd.
Layla: Todd? Have you completely lost it?
Evangeline: Like I said, it's kind of business.
Layla: For you, maybe. But Todd wants something. You're a smart girl. Why canít you see that?
Todd: Your sister's right. I do want something. But I donít want you to come to Chicago with me.
Carlotta: I canít believe the adoption is going through so quickly.
Antonio: I know the judge, so she fit us in.
Antonio: Jessica signed the papers last night.
Carlotta: Oh. Jamie must be so happy. She already thinks of you as her mother.
Antonio: Well, she started calling Jessica "mommy."
Carlotta: Oh. That must feel wonderful.
Jessica: Yeah, it -- it's nice.
Carlotta: We need to make some kind of a toast.
Carlotta: I'll be right back.
Antonio: Ok. You know, I've always thought of you as Jamie's mom. But to make it official --
Jessica: Yeah, it's -- it's really nice.
Antonio: Yeah. Yeah, nice. And good.
Jessica: Yeah. And good. It's all good.
Antonio: You know, when I think about where we were this time last year --
Jessica: I -- I donít want to -- I donít want to --
Antonio: Honey, I know, but you've come such a long way. I mean, you're no longer Tess, you're not with Nash. We've come on the other side of that. Now we're together, and we have the girls. We have so much.
Jessica: Yeah, we have everything. I just -- I just donít want to lose it.
Antonio: Yeah, well, why would we do that? Honey, I didnít mean to make you cry.
Jessica: No, you didnít. You're not. I just -- I'm just emotional today, you know? I canít --
Antonio: Are you ok?
Jessica: Yeah, I'm fine. I just -- why donít you go help your mom for, like, two seconds? I just need to pull myself together, ok? Yeah, I'm fine, baby, yeah.
Antonio: All right. I love you.
Jessica: I love you. God, I need to pull myself together somehow.
Clint: I donít like people barging into my house uninvited and badmouthing my family.
Nash: Quite so. You're right. I'm sorry, I didnít mean for it to come out like that. It's just -- Jessica's about to do something. It's a big mistake.
Clint: Mm-hmm. And that would be what?
Nash: Did you know that she's going to adopt Jamie?
Clint: She's talked to me about that.
Nash: Did you know that she's going to formally adopt Jamie today?
Clint: No, I didnít know it was going to be that soon. Why, is there a problem?
Nash: No, a problem would be a good thing.
Clint: You donít think that she should adopt Jamie?
Nash: Lucky guess.
Clint: She's married to Antonio, Nash.
Nash: Oh --
Clint: She's been like Jamie's mother for a long time. There is no reason not to be able to make it legal.
Nash: Even if she's doing it as a smokescreen to cover her feelings for me?
Rex: You only brought two doughnuts.
Tate: Yeah, sorry I didnít call, but I just couldnít wait to share the big news.
Adriana: What's going on, Tate?
Tate: Well, there's this thing. I guess you could call it a lifelong dream, but it's finally happening.
Rex: They're naming a stadium after you?
Tate: I used to ask myself, when I was playing, is there life after baseball? And one thing kept coming into my head. Sportscasting. I got an offer from channel 7.
Adriana: "Llanview Live"?
Tate: They want me to take over for Buck Phillips.
Rex: What happened to buck? You feed him to the sharks?
Tate: It's just a first step, but it's a big one.
Adriana: That is great news! I'm so happy for you! But --
Tate: Oh, donít worry, I'm way ahead of you. More exposure for Tate Harmon means more sales for exposed. It's a good thing for both of us.
Adriana: Congratulations. Oh!
Tate: Thanks. That means a lot to me.
Rex: What the hell do you think you're doing, Harmon?
Evangeline: What do you mean, I'm not coming? We settled this last night.
Todd: You settled it.
Evangeline: You agreed.
Todd: I changed my mind.
Evangeline: Change it back.
Todd: No. No. This is my deal. I have to do it my way.
Evangeline: Todd, you need me to be there to make sure you donít do something stupid.
Todd: This is Spencer Truman we're talking about. You know, it could be a wild-goose chase. But at worst, he could be brush me off once and for all.
Evangeline: That's why I'm coming.
Todd: No, no. Evangeline, will you please let me do the right thing for once in my life?
Layla: From what I hear, your definition of "right" is a little shady.
Todd: Hey -- I canít let anything happen to you.
Evangeline: I can handle myself.
Todd: No. If you got hurt, I donít know what I'd do. I couldnít -- besides which, you are the assistant D.A., so you'd be putting your career at risk, right? You know I'm right about that.
Layla: Donít look at me. I'm on his side this time.
Evangeline: Todd, I appreciate your concern for me and for my career and the D.A.'S office, but I'm going to be ok. I know Chicago. I have connections there. Legitimate legal connections. I wonít be compromised.
Layla: Vange, will you just let it go? He does not want you to go, so donít go.
Evangeline: Stay out of
Layla: No! You're going to get yourself hurt -- either by someone in Chicago or by him.
Evangeline: Ok, I'm going. He needs me there.
Layla: For what? Bait?
Evangeline: Layla, why are you even in the conversation? This is none of your business. Can you just stay out of this?
Layla: Oh, you're going to let somebody like him turn you against your own sister?
Todd: Forget it, you're not coming, Evangeline. I already put my kid in harm's way, I wonít do the same to you. I was pretty nervous, apprehensive.
Blair: It kills me to see you hurt like this, Starr. I'm sorry. But what you did -- it was right, and I'm proud of you.
Starr: Well, I'm glad for you, because I feel like crap.
Blair: Oh, baby. It's hard to put other people, you know, ahead of you, especially when you really, really want to be with a boy you like.
Starr: Mom, I donít like him, I love him. Is that so hard to understand?
Blair: Starr --
Starr: I love him!
Blair: And I know that it hurts. Someday, it wonít hurt as much, really.
Starr: Like it doesnít hurt with you and dad anymore?
Blair: Well, it's different that --
Starr: It's not different. I love Cole! And right now, I -- God, I hate dad.
Blair: You do not hate your father. You know that.
Starr: I know, but I donít think I'll ever feel the same way about him again.
Blair: I understand. Yeah, I understand. You know, maybe we should just go easy on your dad right now. He's going through a hard time. He needs our support.
Starr: Why, what happened?
Blair: You know the son that he had with Margaret Cochran? Well, he got a tip that maybe that baby is still alive after all.
Todd: It might be Spencer just jerking my chain, but I have to follow up on it. I canít give up on my son if there's a chance I can get him back.
Layla: Well, I hope you find him alive and well. But I appreciate you keeping my sister out of it. Ok?
Evangeline: Layla --
Layla: You heard Todd. It's a dead issue. I got to go. Let's have dinner.
Todd: Well, I guess I should go, too. I donít want to miss the plane.
Evangeline: You're not going anywhere, not without me.
Carlotta: La familia.
Michael: Jessica is adopting Antonio's daughter.
Marcie: Oh. Well, I hope they wind up as happy as we are. Hey. Hi.
Michael: You know, it's pretty amazing, you know, the way Tommy ended up with us.
Marcie: Yeah. Well, I think weíre blessed. You know? At least that's the only explanation I have for it.
Michael: Yeah. It does seem like God had something to do with him ending up with us, you know?
Marcie: Hmm, yeah.
Michael: You know, we would be better for him than his natural parents.
Marcie: Oh, he was meant to be with us. You know, I pray every day that nothing ever happens to change that.
Carlotta: Would it be all right if I came to the hearing today?
Jessica: I think it's closed.
Antonio: Oh, actually, it's not. And I think it would be great for both our families to be there. I mean, if you can.
Carlotta: You can definitely count on me.
Antonio: What about your mom and dad?
Jessica: I think they're pretty busy.
Antonio: Well, why donít you check?
Jessica: Right, I will. Now? Yeah.
Antonio: Well, the hearing's in a few hours.
Jessica: Yeah, of course. Sorry.
Jessica: Uh -- I'm sorry.
Carlotta: Oh, it's all right.
Jessica: Yeah, left shoulder.
Carlotta: It's all right, but are you?
Jessica: Me? I'm -- I'm fine. Why?
Carlotta: Are you sure? You seem -- I hope you donít mind my saying -- a little nervous.
Jessica: Well, I -- this is a really big deal, you know? I'm going to be legally Jamie's new mommy, and I just -- I -- I just hope I'm good enough, you know?
Antonio: Of course you are, honey, you're perfect.
Jessica: I just -- I just donít want anything to -- to screw up the adoption or anything.
Antonio: Huh. Like what?
Jessica: You're right, I'm being silly. I'm going to go and check in on my mom and my dad, so I'll see you two later, ok?
Carlotta: What's going on with her?
Nash: Well, I'm sorry, but it's true.
Clint: You have the audacity to tell me that my daughter has feelings for you, and that she's adopting Jamie just so she can cover it up?
Clint: Yes, in your mind maybe.
Nash: Well, and in Jessica's mind, too.
Clint: Oh, Nash, this has got to stop. It's not good for anybody.
Nash: Do you love your daughter?
Clint: What kind of a question is that?
Nash: Yes, of course you love your daughter, I know that. Then help her.
Clint: Get over you?
Nash: I donít think that's possible.
Clint: Oh, gosh, now you're really pushing it.
Nash: All right, look, I -- I know you think that I'm deluded, but I am not. I need you to help me make Jessica realize that once again she's rushing into something too soon and for all the wrong reasons.
Clint: I'm supposed to accept your word on this and go disrupt my daughter's family?
Nash: Yes. Just listen to me. Because if I'm right, things are only going to get worse, and they're pretty bad. And Jamie -- I mean -- Jamie doesnít deserve this. Look, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But if I'm right -- please. Would you just talk to her, Clint?
Tate: Sorry. Donít want anybody getting the wrong idea.
Rex: Yeah, you do.
Adriana: Rex, it wasnít a big deal.
Rex: Oh -- are you telling me you didnít just feel where his hands were heading?
Adriana: Let's just drop it, ok? Tate has a great new job, and it's going to be great for exposed, so we are all happy, right? Ok?
Adriana: Excuse me. Hello? Yeah, hold on. Let me get those numbers.
Tate: Well, I'm glad we got that all worked out.
Rex: No, we didnít. Stay away from my girlfriend, or you wonít be able to model or do anything else. Got it?
Tate: Sure, Rex. But I got to tell you, anybody who gets this bent out of shape over some guy looking at his girlfriend canít be too secure. And to be honest with you, I can see where you'd be concerned. Ooh!
Adriana: Rex, stop it! Rex!
Rex: You donít know what you just walked in on.
Adriana: I know what I saw, Rex. You jumping all over Tate, who was just standing there.
Rex: Oh -- oh!
Layla: So get this. My sister almost runs off with Todd Manning to Chicago on some crazy lead about his missing son. Can you believe that? Hi, Tate.
Tate: Hey, Layla.
Layla: All I have to say is that if Todd is making this up to get Vange's sympathy, I will have to be the first one in line to --
Rex: Hey, you know what? I'll just have to -- I will give you some tips to how to handle Todd Manning, in the hall.
Adriana: Are you all right?
Tate: Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. I just -- I'm glad you're not mad at me about what happened.
Adriana: Unless you started it.
Rex: Are you sure about this? Todd has a solid lead on his kid?
Layla: That's what he's saying, anyway. He's leaving for Chicago as we speak right now, and I just hope Vange doesnít talk him back into letting her go along with him.
Rex: Ok, he's at Evangeline's place?
Layla: He was. I donít know what time his plane leaves.
Rex: Ok, can you stay here until Tate leaves?
Layla: Sure. Why?
Rex: I -- I donít trust that guy with Adriana.
Layla: Ok, I get that, but why do you have to leave all of a sudden?
Rex: I need to see Todd before he gets on that plane.
Layla: Rex, what's going on?
Rex: Ah! We'll talk later.
Clint: Nash, I like you, and I understand a lot of the things that you've gone through, but I'm pretty sure that your heart is in the right place, but not your head.
Nash: I did not come up with this in a vacuum, Clint. Jessica and I have talked. How can I put this discreetly to you? Things have happened recently between Jessica and me.
Clint: Are you saying that my daughter is considering leaving Antonio for you?
Nash: No, I'm not saying that.
Clint: Then what are you saying?
Nash: She wants to stay in her marriage. She -- she feels guilty. She's scared,
Clint: Nash, it's long past time for you to do the right thing -- step aside.
Jessica: Dad, are you here? I -- Nash, what are you doing?
Blair: So he's going to go to Chicago and see what he can find out.
Starr: He really thinks that the baby's alive?
Blair: Well, he's going to go check it out.
Starr: Well, I mean, how is he dealing with it? Is he ok?
Blair: Well, I think he's got his hopes up, but -- well, we both know that he'll be completely devastated if he finds out that baby's dead again. But you know your dad. He's determined, and he's going to do what he's got to do.
Starr: I donít think he should do it alone. What? Come on.
Blair: You're going to find out about it anyway. Your dad's not going alone. He's taking Evangeline Williamson with him.
Evangeline: I'm scared for you. When it comes to your kids, you donít think straight. You just act and you deal with the consequences later, and somebody's got to be there to make sure you donít do that.
Todd: And what are you going to do when your back's against the wall, and you have to just act? You'll have to choose between your career and my son. I donít want you to have to make that choice. And I'm sure as hell not going to make you choose between life and death.
[Knock on door]
Evangeline: Rex, uh, this isnít really a good time. I donít know what you need, but --
Rex: Todd, good, you're still here.
Todd: What do you want?
Rex: I need to talk to you about your son.
Clint: Jessica, are you all right?
Jessica: Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just wondering why Nash is here first thing in the morning to talk to my father.
Clint: Well, I'll let him answer that. Tell me, is it true that Jamie's adoption hearing is today?
Jessica: Yeah, it is true, and I wanted to ask you to come, you and mom both, if that's ok.
Clint: Oh, yeah, it's ok. I'd be delighted to, yeah.
Clint: So I'll let you two talk. Remember what I said.
Jessica: What did my dad say, Nash?
Nash: Oh. That I am deluded about your feelings for me, and to step aside.
Antonio: Thanks, Mami, but I'm a little too wound up to eat.
Carlotta: And I know why.
Antonio: Because my daughter's getting the mother she loves, has wanted her whole life?
Carlotta: Because Jessica is not as enthusiastic as she should be.
Antonio: Well, she's a little nervous about making the whole thing official.
Carlotta: I thought the hearing was just a formality, isnít it?
Antonio: Well, yeah.
Carlotta: So there's really no reason for her to be nervous. Excited, yes, but nervous?
Antonio: Mami, it -- it's a big deal. It's a huge commitment.
Carlotta: Are you going to tell me? Look, you may have been my nephew by birth, but you are and you always will be my son. When I made that decision to take you, to care for you, there was never any doubt that I was doing the right thing or that I wanted it more than anything.
Antonio: I know. Just, look, it -- it's just that Jessica, she's been through a lot.
Carlotta: Mijo, is everything all right between you two at home? And if it isnít, should this adoption happen?
Starr: Why is dad taking Evangeline?
Blair: You really have to ask?
Starr: Well, I would hope that that whole thing would've been over by now.
Blair: Well, maybe, maybe not, but he is going to take Evangeline with him because she pushed for it, and she kind of hinted that she would go to the police if he didnít.
Starr: Are you kidding me?
Starr: God, what a --
Blair: Ah, ah, ah. Donít say it.
Starr: I'm not.
Blair: We can think it. We just donít say it.
Starr: I used to like her.
Blair: Well, she's not my favorite person anymore, but we should just forget about it, ok? The most important thing here is you may have a little brother out there that's alive, and that's great.
Starr: Is dad going to be ok? What if Dr. Truman's just messing around with him or something?
Blair: I hope not.
Starr: You know that it would kill him. You need to help him, mom, you, not Evangeline.
Blair: He doesnít want my help, sweetie! He doesnít.
Starr: He says that, mom, but you know that he needs you.
Blair: Well, what I need you to do is head out the door to school, ok? Here you go. And, Starr you did the right thing with Cole, and I know that it's hard. But it'll get better, all right?
Starr: Go help dad. I know that you're worried about him.
Blair: Hey, Jack Manning! Are -- I thought you overslept.
Jack: Is dad really going to look for the baby with Ms. Williamson?
Blair: Were you eavesdropping?
Jack: Just listening.
Blair: It's not nice to listen in on other people's conversations.
Jack: But if dad's baby's alive, is he going to marry Ms. Williamson and start a family without us?
Todd: You want to talk to me about my son now?
Rex: I ran into Layla. She told me something about you're going to Chicago to follow a lead or something?
Evangeline: Oh, my God. I canít believe her. I canít believe her -- she runs out of here and she tells your private business to the first person she sees.
Rex: No -- she came home, she was upset. I happened to be there. It was more about you going away with Todd than anything else.
Todd: She's not going away with me. It's too dangerous.
Rex: Well, then why are you going?
Todd: Because I got to check it out.
Rex: Why? What sort of clue could make you reopen old wounds when you know your son is dead?
Todd: The kind that tells me he might be alive.
Rex: Where did you even get this clue from?
Todd: Spencer Truman.
Rex: Spencer's dead. How could he tell you anything?
Todd: It was in a letter Spencer mailed to Miles Laurence. Spencer's just trying to stick the knife in me a little deeper.
Rex: That's exactly what he's doing and you shouldnít play ball.
Todd: I -- I canít hear that my son might be alive and just sit on it.
Rex: I think it's a mistake, I really do. You went through hell when I gave you that death certificate telling you your son died.
Evangeline: He's right, Todd. Are you sure you can live through that again?
Todd: No. But I got to give it a shot.
Rex: Then let me go to Chicago for you. I'm trained at this, I know how to track down a lead.
Todd: No, no, no, no. Thank you, but no. I'm going to do it on my own.
Rex: Suit yourself. But how much more do you want to suffer?
[Door opens and closes]
Evangeline: Todd? Blair doesnít even want you doing this.
Todd: I donít care what Blair thinks anymore.
Blair: No matter who your father ends up with, no matter how many children he decides to have, one thing's not going to change, and that is he's always going to be your father, and he's always going to be your family. Your daddy loves you and Starr more than anything in this whole, wide world -- you got it?
Jack: What about the other baby, if he's alive?
Blair: Well, if that other baby is alive, then I'm sure your going to love that baby. But you know what? It doesnít mean that he's going to love you any less -- you got that?
Jack: Will dad get hurt in Chicago?
Blair: Jack, why would you say that?
Jack: Starr sounded scared.
Blair: Nothing's going to happen to your father when he's in Chicago, all right? It's going to be all right. I promise.
Blair: He's going to be fine and he's going to come home and he's not going to start a family with Evangeline Williamson -- you got that? I promise you.
Jack: How can you promise that?
Layla: Tate, that's fantastic you'll be doing the sports on the news. Good for our business, too.
Tate: Yeah, thanks, but apparently Rex doesnít think so.
Adriana: I donít think that's what Rex was upset about but I'll talk to him.
Tate: Yeah, and I'll make sure I'm very careful about what I say to him. I had no idea the guy was so insecure.
Layla: Rex? No, no way.
Adriana: He's not insecure. He just -- well, he knows that you would make a play for me if I wasnít with him.
Tate: Wait a second. You -- you told him I said that?
Adriana: Of course I did. We donít have any secrets from each other.
Tate: Well, no wonder the guy tried to beat the crap out of me. Although, I got to say, if it was me, I'd be flattered -- you know, that other guys think my girl's so hot.
Adriana: Thank you, but Rex isnít like that.
Tate: I get it. Anyway, I will let you know what the P.R. director from the TV station says about my cross-pollinating duties.
Layla: Ugh. Ew.
Tate: Uh -- I'm sorry. Was that a little too suggestive?
Adriana: Look, just talk to your boss and make sure he knows that you signed with us first.
Tate: Ok. I'll let you know. Layla?
Layla: It really will be good press.
Adriana: Yeah, I know.
Layla: So, why did Rex take off when he heard about Todd's son?
Marcie: You know, every second with you is just so special, isnít it? I just -- you know, I just -- I just wish we had him from the start. Every second with this little guy is just so special. [Marcie giggles]
Antonio: Mami, adopting Jamie is absolutely the right thing, I promise.
Carlotta: So, you and Jessica are solid?
Antonio: Look, I'm not going to lie to you, ok? We have issues, all right, but we're going to deal with them and we'll work them out.
Carlotta: I donít mean to press, but I know how much you love Jessica.
Antonio: I do, Mami Ė completely.
Carlotta: Mijo? Talk to me. Something is bothering you.
Antonio: There are adjustments, Mami. Ok, it's not the same as it was before Tess. Sometimes I just wish I had the old Jessica.
Jessica: Well, good for you, Nash, you played your last card. Now, do me a favor, do what my father said and back the hell off! Why are you smiling?
Nash: Sorry, you just -- you kind of reminded me of someone for a minute there.
Jessica: I'm not Tess, ok, so get over it.
Nash: And I am over it! That's the problem! I'm in love with you, Jessica.
Jessica: Oh, so you came by here to tell on me to my dad? Thanks!
Nash: I donít have a dad. If I did have a dad, I would've talked to my dad, but I donít, all right? I needed someone to talk to!
Jessica: This isnít talking, Nash. You're gathering your allies, and there's no way you're ever going to get my father against me!
Nash: I'm not against you! How can I be against you? I love you, all right? And so Iím trying to find someone else who loves you to make you face the truth.
Jessica: The truth is I love my husband and I love his daughter. I love her enough to adopt her and call her my own.
Nash: I never said that you donít love her, and I know that she thinks of you as a mother.
Jessica: And after today, I will be -- end of story.
Nash: And you still prefer to do what looks like the right thing to do instead of the right thing to do.
Jessica: What's right, Nash? You tell me. Would it be right for me to leave my husband and his daughter and come back to you?
Nash: Oh, back to me?
Jessica: To you, whatever! What -- what does it matter?
Nash: I know exactly what you mean. Jessica, come with me now. Come away with me now and we'll tell Antonio together.
Jessica: I'm adopting Jamie today and there's nothing you can do to stop
Nash: No, there's nothing I can do.
Nash: All I can do is ask you to admit the truth.
Jessica: What truth?
Nash: The truth that you wish you hadnít chosen Antonio and his kid, that you wish you had chosen me.
Layla: Why does Rex care if Todd's looking for his son?
Adriana: Because Rex worked for Todd as a P.I. and he's probably just curious what he missed.
Layla: That's -- that's got to be so hard to think your son is dead and -- and then to be told maybe not. I mean, I'm no fan of Todd's, but I almost feel sorry for him.
Adriana: Yeah, I guess so.
Layla: And if the baby's alive, why are people lying about it?
Antonio: Jessica and I will be ok. All right? And Jamie's adoption hearing today will be the beginning of good things for Jessica and me, and the girls. I promise.
Carlotta: I'm holding you to it.
Antonio: I have to get to the station. I'll see you later.
Carlotta: Dios te bendiga.
Rex: Hey, Antonio.
Michael: Ok, jungle man.
Rex: Michael -- oh. I need to talk to you right now.
Marcie: Something wrong?
Flight attendant: You'll need to buckle up, ma'am.
On the next "One Life to live" --
Britney: Starr and Cole broke up?
Starr: Yeah, and I bet that just makes your life, doesnít it?
Michael: It's Tommy, isnít it? Somebody's connected him to Todd Manning?
Blair: Hi, Todd.
Jessica: It'll get better.
Nash: This will only get better if I leave Llanview for good.
