John: Please, whatever you do, do not hang up on me. Hello? Hello? Damn -- hung up on me.

Natalie: You know, I was worried what would happen if you couldn't find your father's killer. But now I'm afraid of what will happen if you do.

John: I donít want to hear it.

Natalie: John, that's too bad. You're losing it. And if you donít get your act together, you're going to lose everything.

Paige: I know what I did that day in the O.R. I've lived with that mistake every minute of every day since. I should've admitted it then. But telling me the name of the patient that I let die isn't going to stop me now.

Spencer: Even if I told you that the person you let die that night on your operating table because you were too drunk was someone you knew?

Nash: Why would you bring up Claudia?

Antonio: Because I just saw her.

Nash: Here?

Antonio: Yeah, and we talked.

Nash: What'd you talk about?

Antonio: She wants you back.

Nash: Oh, you would like that, wouldn't you?

Tess: I'm going to be a mommy. Not Jessica, me, Tess.

[Knock on door]

Tess: Oh. Did you lose your key already? Oh. It's you.

Viki: Yep, just me.

Tess: Well, why are you here?

Viki: Tess, the child that you're carrying is going to be my grandchild, whether the mother is you or Jessica, and -- and I guess I just wanted you to be clear about a few things.

Todd: What the hell do you want?

John: At this point, I donít give a damn what anyone thinks.

Natalie: Really? So you're just going to throw it all away, huh? Your whole life?

John: What's it to you, huh? What's it to you? You're not my boss, you're not my mom, you're not my girlfriend.

Natalie: I'm your friend.

John: Even if you were, it doesn't give you the right to tell me what to do with my life, all right? You know, if I want to break something in my office -- my office -- I'm going to do it. You got it?

Evangeline: What in the hell is going on in here?

Antonio: I just told you that I saw Claudia, and that she wants you back. And all you can think about is that makes me happy?

Nash: Am I wrong?

Antonio: Honestly, I'm more worried about Jessica and the baby -- and even Tess.

Nash: Even Tess? How grand.

Antonio: Look, aren't you even a little bit concerned?

Nash: No. Claudia doesn't care about them. This is all about her and me, but that works out really well for you, doesn't it?

Antonio: Of course, it's all about me. You know what? I'm sorry I brought it up.

Nash: Hmm.

Antonio: It was a waste.

Nash: Yeah. Hey --

Antonio: Get your hand off me or I'll take it off.

Nash: Ooh. How do you even know Claudia?

Antonio: Because she came to me.

Nash: And how does she know you?

Antonio: How the hell would I know?

Nash: Ah.

Antonio: What I do know is that she's making it her business to know everything about you. But you're so wrapped up in keeping Tess away from everybody else that you wouldn't know.

Nash: If I wanted to keep Tess away from everybody else, we wouldn't be here.

Antonio: Then why are you?

Nash: I'm here for Tess and the baby -- and Jessica and everyone.

Antonio: That's bull and you know it.

Nash: Why would I lie about that?

Antonio: Oh, because you -- you want to be the hero. You want to make yourself look good to everybody else, but you know what? It's not playing to me. Give me a beer.

Nash: There I was thinking we were bonding.

Antonio: You know -- who the hell are you, anyway? I mean, nobody knows -- I mean, where you're from, who your family is, your friends. You know, the only connection we have to you, Nash, is this Claudia Reston person, and she's got a -- a restraining order out against you because she thinks you're dangerous.

Nash: Hmm. Hello? Yeah, that's a load of crap.

Antonio: Yeah, well, her father doesn't think so.

Nash: Consider the source.

Antonio: Mm-hmm. Well, I'm sorry if I'm not sure who to believe.

Nash: Antonio, think about this. If Claudia thought that I was dangerous, wouldn't she be running away from me instead of chasing me down?

Antonio: Hey, you know, I -- I donít know, and I donít know what kind of screwed-up people you hang out with, and I really donít care. I came to tip you off, hoping that maybe you and I can help each other and keep your ex from hurting the women we love.

Nash: Huh. You donít want to help each other. The only reason you told me about Claudia -- well, Claudia's back, and that is the best news you've heard all year, isn't it?

Viki: You and Nash did this?

Tess: No, Nash did. He surprised me.

Viki: Oh.

Tess: How did you know I was here? What, are you spying on me or something?

Viki: No, I'm not spying on you. Roxy is a friend of the family of sorts. She called me and told me she rented you a room.

Tess: Well, nosy bitch should mind her business.

Viki: Actually, Roxy is a hell of a woman, and you would do well to earn her respect.

Tess: What do you want?

Viki: I came to see how you're doing.

Tess: No, you didnít. Actually, you came to lay your grandmother claim, which you made quite clear with your little lead-in a few minutes ago.

Viki: Ok, ok. Tess, your baby is going to be part of a very large family.

Tess: Oh, yes, I know -- the Buchanan-Lord dynasty. I've heard it, like, a gajillion times.

Viki: A large extended family who are all very excited about this child and would very much like to be a part of his or her life.

Tess: Well, that's going to be a problem if you're all freaking wrong.

Viki: What do you mean?

Tess: Well, you're depending on this integration thing to work.

Viki: It will, Tess, eventually. You have to accept that.

Tess: Actually, I do. Because I've been thinking, you know, what if it's not me that integrates into Jessica?

Viki: You think Jessica's going to integrate into you?

Tess: Well, I've been doing some reading, and the dominant personality doesn't always have to be the host. What if the alter was stronger? What if the alter was loved more?

Viki: Donít go there.

Tess: Why? Afraid I'm right? Because if I am, you can all go to hell.

Todd: You just in the neighborhood or -- ok, I give up. What do you want?

Cristian: I just want one thing. It's about your lawyer.

Todd: Why, you need her again? I'm sorry if she's too busy trying to save my life this time.

Cristian: I'm not joking around here.

Todd: She all right?

Cristian: She had a breakdown the other day.

Todd: Is she going to be all right?

Cristian: She can be. But first, you have to do something for her.

Todd: What?

Cristian: Fire her.

Evangeline: It's just a guess, but I imagine it had something to do with this.

John: Yeah, what if it did? Here.

Evangeline: They're saying some pretty unflattering things about you in the squad room, John.

John: Yeah, well, like I told your friend here, I donít really give a damn.

Evangeline: You should.

Natalie: She's right, John.

John: You guys donít tell me what to do.

Natalie: Well, somebody has to. I mean, come on, John, you're out of control here. You've already lost your badge once. If you lose it again, you're off the force, you're not a cop anymore, and then you're going to have to find your father's killer all on your own.

John: You know something? That's the smartest thing anybody said to me all day.

Natalie: This is all your fault.

Todd: Evangeline pulled off miracle for you. But you're telling me you think I should fire her?

Cristian: You got it.

Todd: Yeah. Then you're either more stupid than I thought you were or you think I am.

Cristian: I'm just looking out for Evangeline.

Todd: Does she know you're here?

Cristian: Nope. She would've told me not to come.

Todd: In that case, I think you should butt out.

Cristian: Look, I'm not about to sit still and watch her self-destruct.

Todd: She's a lot tougher than you give you credit for.

Cristian: Yeah, well, you didnít see her have a breakdown the other day.

Todd: You know, she'd probably tell you it's not as bad as you think.

Cristian: She went to jail for you, man. Do you have any idea what that did to her?

Todd: Yeah, I do. I felt pretty rotten about that, but the charges didnít stick and she got out, didnít she?

Cristian: Fine. What about when they caught you at lion's heart? Evangeline could've gotten killed.

Todd: She wasn't there.

Cristian: She wanted to be. I had to pick her up and physically drag her off to keep her from going to warn you.

Todd: So do you want me to thank you?

Cristian: You can thank me for keeping your attorney alive.

Todd: There was no shooting.

Cristian: But that's not the point. The point is there could've been. You had a gun, she could've gotten caught in the crossfire. You know I'm right here.

Todd: But you're not right about me firing Evangeline.

Cristian: Look, you're going to die in five weeks, anyway. I'll be damned if I let you take Evangeline down with you.

Evangeline: What could possibly be my fault this time, Natalie?

Natalie: John is all over the map, ok, and I almost had him calmed down, then you come in here and stir things up by getting on his case about making a scene.

Evangeline: Oh, you had him calmed down, really? Then why is it I heard him screaming from the parking lot? And everyone outside heard him, too.

Natalie: Ok, see, that's just it. You're making him feel all weird with everyone he works with.

Evangeline: He doesn't care. You heard him.

Natalie: Then why did he tear out of here the way he did?

Evangeline: I donít know. Maybe it was something you said.

Natalie: I had it under control.

Evangeline: Under control, really? If what I walked in on was control, Natalie, then you're right, I must be delusional.

Natalie: You have no idea what's going on, Evangeline. John is barely holding on, and I've been doing anything I possibly can to help him.

Evangeline: I donít even want to know what you're talking about, I'm not going to even ask what you're up to. But I do know why, Natalie, and it's a mistake. You can't fix him.

Natalie: Just because you couldn't --

Evangeline: Listen, he needs to do it himself, and the last thing he needs is you getting into some kind of trouble again and making things worse.

Paige: You can't scare me anymore.

Spencer: Oh, you think I'm bluffing?

Paige: The man that I let die was a cop. I didnít know any cops back then.

Spencer: Who said anything about back then?

Paige: Oh, all right. Ok, you keep spinning. Just keep putting it out there, doing anything, everything you can to just get me back under your thumb. You are running out of ideas and you're freaking out.

Spencer: Why would I lie about this, Paige?

Paige: Are you kidding?

Spencer: Sweetheart, I donít have to lie about this. I have the truth, and the truth is, is that the man you let die all those years ago on your operating table is the father of two people who, for very different reasons, mean a great deal to you.

John: I'm not going to talk to you as a cop, donít talk to me as a doctor. I'm just a guy who wants to find out what happened to his father.

Snyder: What do you want to know?

John: You said there were six of you that worked on my father the night heame into the O.R. the hospital sent me a list that has five names on it. I want to know whose name is missing from that list.

Viki: The crib is really lovely. So is the mobile. Nash picked all this out by himself, did he?

Tess: Yes, he did, for me -- and my baby. So I, not Jessica, could have a place to feel safe after I have this kid.

Viki: Are you scared?

Tess no, I'm -- ugh -- looking forward to the torture of childbirth.

Viki: Well, it's perfectly normal to be worried.

Tess: Well, I'm not really classified as normal, now, am I?

Viki: No, me, neither, but I was still plenty scared.

Tess: Is it that bad?

Viki: No. No. I mean, they call it "labor" for a reason. But it is so worth it when you hold that beautiful child in your arms.

Tess: Well, that wasn't me, remember? I didnít exist yet. I came out later when, you know, you bailed on me.

Viki: It's a little more complicated than that.

Tess: It's not going to work.

Viki: What isn't?

Tess: This whole mommy-love thing -- not feeling it? Huh? You're not going to.

Viki: Tess, I only came here today to tell you that I will love my grandchild -- whether you or Jessica are the mother -- every bit as much as I love you.

Tess: Well, you already said that, so you can go.

Viki: I do love you. Do you know that?

Tess: Huh. Yeah -- as long as I sit in the corner of Jessica's head and behave.

Viki: Look, I've never lied to you. I think integration is the healthiest thing for you and Jessica and the baby.

Tess: Even if I come out on top?

Viki: That's not going to happen. You and I Both know that.

Tess: Well, even Niki's been rearing her ugly head lately.

Viki: Yes, she did because I still needed her. I had to find out what had happened to my child. I -- I would've done anything. When you have this baby, you're going to find out how it feels to love someone that much.

Tess: Actually, I already know how it feels. Why do you think I've been fighting so hard to keep Jessica away from me and my baby?

Antonio: Are you saying what I think you're saying?

Nash: I'm saying that you and Claudia are on the same side. Maybe not intentionally, but you do both want the same thing, right?

Antonio: You're right. I donít give a damn about you or Claudia Reston.

Nash: No, or Tess.

Antonio: You're right. I care about Jessica and the baby.

Nash: You know, let's not forget that Tess is the one who's been carrying this baby for most of the pregnancy.

Antonio: Which is why I want to protect her, too. Look, if you're right and this Claudia Reston is out to get you, we need to find out what she's up to.

Nash: Leave Claudia to me.

Antonio: No, it's not that simple. Not with the restraining order it isn't. You need me on this one.

Nash: No deal. And if I hear about you talking to Claudia again, I will grab Tess, the baby, and myself and we will be on a plane so far away, you will never find us again.

Todd: I care a great deal about Evangeline.

Cristian: Not more than you care about yourself.

Todd: She went to the mat for me, I know that.

Cristian: All right, then make it up to her, cut her loose.

Todd: You think if I fire her, she's just going to -- she's going to give up on me, she's going to stop working to get me out of here?

Cristian: It's a start.

Todd: Like she gave up on you?

Cristian: This is different.

Todd: She kept your secret.

Cristian: Look, we're not talking about me here.

Todd: We're not? You know, I donít think Evangeline needs or wants another guy in her life right now, especially someone who doesn't think she's capable of making her own decisions. She's never going to walk away, not when there's this much at stake.

Cristian: What's at stake here is Evangeline. She risked everything for you, and if I hadn't stopped her, who knows what would've happened?

Todd: Nothing.

Cristian: I'm telling you, one more setback and she's over the edge, and where does that leave you? And what good is Evangeline to you if she breaks down?

Guard: He's with somebody right now.

Evangeline: What's going on?

Todd: Cristian wants me to fire you.

Evangeline: You what?

Natalie: I'm going to help you, John, whether you like it or not.

Snyder: I haven't talked to any of these people since that night.

John: That wasn't the question.

Snyder: Look at me. Take a good look. What do you see? A broken-down old drunk. I'm not even as old as you think. If I had to do it all over again, I --

John: What? You wouldn't have operated on my father drunk?

Snyder: I wish to hell I hadn't shown up then at all.

John: Makes two of us.

John: All right, you've had your drink. Whose name is missing from this list? What's the name of the doctor that was on this list?

Snyder: Figure it out yourself.

John: That's what I'm doing here.

Snyder: I haven't talked about it for 25 years. What makes you think I'll start now?

John: Do you know what it's taken me to get to this point? All these years, hanging on by a thread. Well, that thread is unraveling fast. So you're going to tell me what I need to know, or I know other ways to get it out of you. Do you get what I'm saying?

Snyder: I donít remember.

John: Try harder! You took my father. It's payback time.

Snyder: You're a cop.

John: Yeah, I'm a cop. I'm a cop just off suspension. I just blew a guy away for almost killing my brother. You see, there ain't nothing I won't do for family. I think you know what I'm talking about.

Snyder: You leave my family out of this. They didnít do anything wrong.

John: But someone did. We thought it was you.

Snyder: I took the blame. Leave it at that.

John: Ok, so what's the big secret about the sixth name? What's the secret about the sixth name?

Snyder: I didnít say there was. I donít remember who it was now.

John: Who are you covering for?

Snyder: Not covering for anybody.

John: Hey! Listen, quit lying to me, all right?

Snyder: Leave me alone.

John: I know you know!

Snyder: I donít know anything!

John: Tell me how you know! Listen to me -- listen to me, who are you covering for? Who did you take the fall for?

Snyder: I'm not telling you who she was!

John: "She?" You just -- you said -- listen to me. You said "she." Who is "she?" Who is "she?"

Snyder: If I tell you, you'll leave me alone?

John: You have my word.

Snyder: Your -- uh -- your sixth man was a woman, an intern named Paige Truman.

Evangeline: You told Todd to fire me?

Cristian: Yeah, I did.

Evangeline: Why?

Cristian: Because there's nothing you can do for him.

Evangeline: I'm working on his appeal, Cristian.

Cristian: And losing yourself in the process. Now, do I have to carry you out of here again?

Evangeline: How dare you.

Todd: I told you.

Cristian: Stay out of this.

Todd: Kind of hard, seeing as it's about me.

Evangeline: That's right, it's between Todd and me, Cristian, so stay out of it.

Cristian: I'm trying to help you here, Evangeline.

Evangeline: I didnít ask for your help.

Cristian: You're right, you didnít. Look, if you're innocent, good luck.

Todd: You didnít tell me.

Evangeline: Tell you what?

Todd: That you had a new man in your life.

Evangeline: What, Cristian?

Todd: Obviously, he's into you.

Evangeline: The only thing I'm into right now is your case.

Todd: Yeah? Maybe that's a mistake.

Paige: Stop trying to play with my head.

Spencer: It does make it worse, though, doesn't it? Knowing who it is, being able to put a face on the whole terrible tragedy.

Paige: I -- I donít know who it is, and I donít know his children -- if they even exist.

Spencer: Oh, they exist.

Paige: You're making this up.

Spencer: No, Paige, it's just that I value human life so much more than you do. I mean, for me, the fallout from losing a patient -- it just haunts me. Apparently, it doesn't bother you quite as much.

Paige: Oh, yeah. Right. You value human life so much that you killed Margaret Cochran so you could have a straight shot at Blair.

Spencer: You have no proof of that.

Paige: No. But I am witness to the fact that Todd Manning didnít do it, and I am not going to let another man -- a father with two children -- die because I didnít have the guts to stand up to you.

Spencer: I hope you're prepared to lose Bo.

[Paige sighs]

Paige: This was never about losing Bo and you know it. That's why you needed the extra little insurance plan -- setting Bo up for Margaret's murder. But you know what? I think you're going to use it, anyway. So, what have I t to lose?

Spencer: So you're willing to suffer the consequences for your actions?

Paige: I donít have a choice.

Spencer: Well, I'd be careful who I made my confession to. I mean, if I were you, I certainly wouldn't want any of this getting back to John Mc Bain.

Paige: What -- what does John Mc Bain have to do with any of this?

John: You said Paige Truman?

Snyder: I'll -- I'll pay for the glass, Bobby, and I -- I won't spill this one.

Bobby: Sure thing, doc.

Snyder: Yeah, Paige Truman. You know her?

John: I know a Paige Miller. She doesn't use the name Truman anymore.

Snyder: Friend of yours?

John: She lives with a friend of mine. She -- she works at the hospital where my brother works. She's the chief of staff.

Snyder: Oh. She's done well for herself.

John: Yeah. Yeah, she has. And you're telling me she was in the O.R. with you the night my father died.

Snyder: If it's the same lady. Sounds like it is.

John: She never said anything. She never -- she never told me. I can't believe she was there. I can't believe she operated on my father.

Snyder: I didnít say she knew anything about who died. I only said she was there.

John: How could she not know?

Snyder: Maybe she would've -- if she'd been sober.

Evangeline: Oh, God, what did he say?

Todd: He said that you had a meltdown and that he's worried about you.

Evangeline: He has no reason to be worried about me.

Todd: Well, he didnít come down here for the hell of it. Obviously, there's something going on between you guys.

Evangeline: There's nothing going on between me and Cristian.

Todd: Does he know that?

Evangeline: He's in love with Natalie. And even if he wasn't in love with Natalie, there's no way in the world I'm going to get involved with somebody else involved with Natalie. Besides, the only thing I care about right now is getting the evidence to get your conviction overturned before they --

Todd: Before they execute me? It's ok, sweetie, I understand.

Evangeline: My God. This is just wrong. This is so wrong.

Todd: I know.

Evangeline: I keep filing motion after motion, trying to get a stay. I keep going through the case with a fine-tooth comb, trying to find some error on their part, some technicality of any kind to get this case retried, but nothing -- nothing is working.

Todd: I mean, there's got to be something out there on Spencer.

Evangeline: I'm trying. But I keep coming up empty. I'm -- I'm sorry.

Todd: Donít be.

Evangeline: I'm not giving up.

Todd: Sometimes there's nothing else you can do. Oh, by the way -- that's -- no, go ahead, open it.

Viki: I know that you love your baby, I can see that.

Tess: Well, Nash taught me how to love. Made me more than just an alter, made me a real person -- just as real as Jessica.

Viki: And I know that Nash loves you. It's actually quite inspiring. I donít think a lot of young men would've stuck with you once they found out what was going on, and certainly not with such unabashed devotion.

Tess: Hmm. Do you feel the same way about Antonio?

Viki: Antonio has stuck by Jessica through quite a lot, you know.

Tess: Well, not everything because I came out again, remember?

Viki: You have to remember that Jessica loves Antonio every bit as much as you love Nash. You know that and you understand it.

Tess: Ok, ok, so I might have been a bit obnoxious, but I've had to be. You know, I fight the battles that Jessica can't fight.

Viki: Not so much anymore.

Tess: Oh, come on. Jessica's still hiding.

Viki: But she's getting stronger, and you can feel it and we can see it. You may not want to admit it, but these days you and Jessica are much more alike than not.

Tess: Like you and Niki?

Viki: It's not the same thing.

Tess: Oh, you're right, because Niki is a selfish bitch, doesn't care about anybody but herself. She's never loved anybody like the way I love Nash.

Viki: Tess, you have no idea what Niki felt or did not feel, ok?

Tess: So there was somebody?

Viki: Um -- I didnít come here to talk about Niki, ok? This is about you, Jessica, and your baby whose going to be born very soon.

Tess: Well, aside from the nasty, you know, meant disorder that runs in this family, I guess he or she is going to come from a pretty good gene pool.

Viki: I'd like to think so. Whatever else, this child will never want for love.

Tess: At least we agree on one thing.

Viki: Tess? Just remember when you have this baby, no matter who gives birth -- you or Jessica -- Jessie is as much a part of that child as you are.

Antonio: Haven't you figured it out yet? There is no place on this planet that you can hide where I won't find you or Tess or the baby.

Nash: Push me and I'll do my best.

Antonio: Look, have you ever taken care of a newborn, brought one home from the hospital?

Nash: Well, from what I've heard, you haven't either.

Antonio: But I've taken care of my daughter since she was very young, and I know what goes with it. I know the time, the work, and the commitment that it takes to do things right.

Nash: I guess we'll just have to figure it out -- like everybody else. Antonio, in the meantime, I've set up a place for the three of us.

Antonio: You took her out of Llanfair?

Nash: I think that's what we need right now.

Antonio: Oh, really? And what about later, when -- when Claudia Reston shows up and decides that she's not happy seeing you with another woman and a baby? Because she will. And you better figure out what the hell to do then.

Cristian: Hey, you ok, man?

Antonio: I'm trying, I'm trying, but nobody's making it easy.

Cristian: Yeah, I hear you.

John: So now, according to you, someone else was drunk that night in the O.R.? And on top of that, it's somebody I know?

Snyder: I didnít know you knew Paige Truman or -- or Miller, as you say she goes by now.

John: It's quite a coincidence, donít you think?

Snyder: You can do what you want to with it. All I'm saying is Paige Truman, a promising intern, showed up to work that night drunk. I didnít know anything about it until -- until she made a -- a serious error while closing, and the patient -- your father -- arrested. We weren't able to revive him. I -- and the next day I resigned, never to practice medicine again, and dr. Truman went on with her life and her career.

John: Well, if that's true, you covered for her. Why?

Snyder: "Why" is something you do not want to ask.

John: I'm asking.

Snyder: It'll cost you -- everything.

John: You trying to blackmail me?

Snyder: I'm trying to warn you. You value your life, Lieutenant  Mc Bain? If you do, you'll let this go -- right now.

Nash: Hey, you all right? The baby?

Tess: Fine. We're fine. Yeah.

Nash: You sure?

Tess: I'm a lot better now that you're here.

Nash: Oh. Well, then you have nothing to worry about. And you have nothing to worry about either. Your mummy and daddy are here.

Tess: Yeah, well -- hmm -- I wish I could be as sure of everything as you are. We'll find out soon. Very, very soon.

Cristian: How are you?

Natalie: I'm ok. You?

Cristian: Been better.

Natalie: Uh-huh.

Cristian: Are you looking for somebody?

Natalie: Why?

Cristian: Just wondering. You donít have to be so sketchy.

Natalie: I'm not.

Cristian: Natalie, I know you. Look, if it's because of me, then --

Natalie: I -- I'm meeting somebody, ok?

Cristian: A date?

Natalie: No, it's not a date. I mean, can't a woman meet a guy for something other than a date?

Cristian: So you're meeting a guy?

Natalie: It's not John.

Cristian: All right. If it's not a date, then something else is making you nervous.

Natalie: I said I'm not! I --

Cristian: Look, you are, but you're not. What's -- what's the deal? What -- who is this guy?

Natalie: Just -- um -- somebody from Atlantic City.

Cristian: Well, what's his name? Maybe I know him.

Natalie: You donít.

Cristian: How do you know?

Natalie: Vincent Jones, ok?

Cristian: Vincent Jones?

Evangeline: "For Blair?" What is this?

Todd: She asked me to make a -- a goodbye video for the kids.

Evangeline: When?

Todd: Earlier. She brought by a camera. It was basically a final kiss-off from her.

Evangeline: So this is -- is for the kids?

Todd: No, it's for Blair.

Evangeline: What, is it a goodbye?

Todd: Just deliver it to Blair and Blair only. I donít want it anywhere near Spencer Truman.

Spencer: It has everything to do with John Mc Bain and Michael, as well, but let's focus on John for the moment, shall we? Lieutenant  John Mc Bain, the police officer who works for your boyfriend down at the police station, who became a cop because his father was a cop? Actually, his father was a beat cop in Atlantic City, and John has been wondering all of these years, not only who shot him but who let his father die on the operating table after the bullet was removed, after the bleeding had been stopped. Just when they thought the poor chap was going to pull through --

[Spencer snaps fingers]

Paige: No.

Spencer: Oh, yes.

Paige: Oh, no.

Spencer: No, the man that you let die all those years ago, Paige, because you were too drunk was John Mc Bain's father, Officer Thomas Mc Bain.

John: Nothing scares me anymore. When I had nothing, I kept going. Do not shut down on me now that I'm closer than I've ever been.

Snyder: You still have nothing. I gave you the name of the sixth person in the O.R., but it won't do you any good to go to her. Huh. She was probably too drunk that night to remember what she did.

John: But you do. You do. Who put the screws to you to protect Paige Miller all this time?

Snyder: I've said enough already.

John: Hey, sit down. Who did it? Who paid you off to keep quiet all these years?

Snyder: I've said too much already.

John: There's only one person it could be, the one name that keeps coming up, and now I know why.

Snyder: If you're right, you'll let it go.

John: If I'm right, I'll get the answers I need. You know, Paige Miller might've changed her name, her ex-husband didnít. It's on me.

Snyder: I may have just killed us both, Lieutenant .

On the next "One Life to Live" --

Adriana: Stop harassing me. If you donít, I'm calling the police.

Natalie: This is not about me wanting to hook up with John again.

Bo: What's going on here, John?

John: Paige was e one that killed my father.

Tess: Oh, my God. Iím going into labor.
