Adriana: Lifehouse is really playing here tonight? I love their song "you and me."
Rex: Yeah, I scored big booking them tonight.
Adriana: You're amazing.
Rex: You, too. I mean, you look --
Rex: So, you going to stick around -- to hear Lifehouse?
Adriana: Sure. To hear Lifehouse.
Blair: Thank you.
Spencer: You run a tab for me, please? Hi.
Blair: Are you following me?
Spencer: Yes. I didn't know this was one of your regular hangouts.
Blair: Well, it isn't, actually. I just came here to get away.
Spencer: From what?
John: Usual, please. What is all this stuff?
Evangeline: It's Valentine's Day.
John: No, it's not, Valentine's Day is --
John: I'm sorry. I marked it down on the calendar, and then I just --
Evangeline: Don't worry about it, really. I don't expect anything.
John: You know what it is? Some of these special days -- they're just not for me.
Evangeline: Duly noted.
John: But I'd like to go on record as saying that -- well, you deserve something special, not just today but every day.
Evangeline: Cristian. Hi.
Cristian: Where were you just now?
Evangeline: Oh, um -- last valentine's day.
Cristian: Yeah. Yeah, me, too.
Guard: This ain't going to be no picnic. This is it, for the rest of your worthless life.
Cristian: I know who I am. And I did the right thing for my wife. I gave her hope, a future. I lost everything that day.
Natalie: It's about time you cut john some slack. He's a good cop -- no matter what happens tonight.
Ed: You sound like you expect something to go wrong.
Natalie: I -- I just don't like it, that's all. I mean, you know, everything that john's been through, you put him with a killer like Todd?
Ed: Do you think john's going to lose it?
Natalie: John's not the one I'm worried about.
Todd: I need to see Blair. I'm innocent! I need to see my wife!
John: What's going on?
Guard: Manning. He's been hollering like that for a while.
John: Guess reality's finally setting in.
Todd: Mc Bain, don't do this to me. I'm innocent.
John: Let's get one thing straight. I'm not putting up with this the whole flight.
Todd: Why are you taking me?
John: Nobody else wanted the job.
Todd: All right, listen, Spencer Truman set me up.
John: The doctor?
Todd: Yeah, that's right. He killed Margaret.
Kelly: I have been wanting to do this so long. You are ugly and outdated, and I can't take it anymore! Ah! Ha, ha!
Kevin: Kelly! Hey!
Kelly: Oh! Uh, you scared me.
Kevin: Yeah, you're scaring me.
Kelly: I -- ahem -- didn't think you'd be back so soon.
Kevin: Obviously. What in the hell's going on?
Cristian: A year ago today, I made the call to let Natalie keep thinking I was dead.
Evangeline: You ever think things happen for a reason? We're all exactly where we're supposed to be, and when one door closes, another one opens?
Cristian: I think that's a crock.
Evangeline: Yeah. You and me both.
Michael: You look beautiful.
Marcie: Well, you know, it's definitely an improvement over the hot fudge sundae.
Michael: It's more than that. It's more than just a change of clothes.
Marcie: Well, you know, it's a big night tonight. I mean, Lifehouse is here.
Michael: Yeah, Lifehouse. Not to mention it's Valentine's Day.
Marcie: Yeah. Yeah, you know, that, too.
Michael: I'm really glad you're spending it with me.
Marcie: You know, um, our first Valentine's Day together? It was when I realized that I can love someone again.
Michael: It's like my life started over again, you know?
Marcie: Yeah, and then there was last year.
Michael: Last year, yeah -- hospital bed, you hating me.
Marcie: No, I didn't hate you. But I was angry. But I still loved you.
Michael: I could never stop loving you. That's why I want this Valentine's Day to be the most special valentine's day you have ever had.
Woman: Excuse me, Ms. Walsh? I -- I just got "The Killing Club" in paperback and I was wondering if you could sign it?
Marcie: Sure. I'd be happy to.
Woman: And if you could say hi to my friends?
Marcie: Oh, you know, I'm not --
Michael: No, no, hon, you know what? It's fine. Go on, make them happy.
Marcie: Michael --
Michael: I'll be right here.
Adriana: Oh, my God! Is that what I think it is?
Michael: Shh! Shh! Don't say anything, ok?
Michael: I want everything to be perfect.
Adriana: Rex! Michael needs your help. He's asking Marcie to marry him tonight.
Rex: Marry? People still do that?
Michael: Well, you can fight it, you know, but when it's meant to be, it's meant to be.
Spencer: I'm sorry. Is there a problem with us?
Blair: No, there isn't a problem, and there shouldn't have been a problem because I shouldn't have slept with you.
Spencer: Oh, here we go. You know, we've already talked about this. If you're feeling guilty, you know, if you're feeling like you've used me, I already told you, Blair, it's ok. I'm all right with it.
Blair: No, it's not ok. Because I'm not over Todd. Seems like I can't get over him, and not just now, but in the past. I can't tell you how many times I've tried to get over him and I can't, and I don't think I ever will.
Natalie: Dr. Crosby?
Natalie: Look, what I said about the assignment -- I'm not saying that John can't handle Todd. It's just that my uncle happens to be very bad luck, and ever since I've known John, it seems that whatever could go wrong for him has.
Ed: Maybe he has something to do with that.
Natalie: I don't want him hurt, or worse. I can't explain it, but I just have a really bad feeling about this transport.
John: You got any proof of this?
Todd: No, but I need to talk to my wife. I need to tell Blair.
John: It's a little late for that. The plane is fueled and ready to go.
Todd: All right. Let me talk to Evangeline.
John: Hey, you took her off your case. You turned down your appeal.
Todd: I changed my mind. You're about to fly me to my death! Give me a freaking break!
John: For her sake, not yours.
Todd: Evangeline, it's Todd. I need to talk to you quickly. Call me back.
John: That's it. After you.
Kelly: Hey, come on, I was just getting good with that thing.
Kevin: That's what I'm afraid of.
Kelly: You know how it's always such a pain to hang pictures in this plaster wall?
Kelly: That's because there's brick underneath.
Kevin: Uh-huh. And you found this out how?
Kelly: I was trying to hang that new photo of us.
Kevin: Well, that's sweet, Kelly, but --
Kelly: Well, I was trying to hang it and the nails kept breaking. I got so angry, I just hit the wall with the hammer, and that's when I found the brick.
Kevin: So you went out and bought a really big hammer?
Kelly: Well, I wanted to get started.
Kevin: And why are you doing this?
Kelly: Well, I'm redecorating.
Kevin: Redecorating? Looks more like a rampage to me.
Kelly: Well, I was coming down the stairs this morning and I saw that horrible spaghetti picture for the nine millionth time and I just couldn't take it any longer, so I went to the store and I got a bunch of tools and some paint and -- you know, swinging that thing feels pretty good.
Kevin: Why do you think that is?
Kelly: I'm getting rid of the past. You know, a whole new wall, a whole new life -- just like us. Hey, it's symbolic. So can I have this back now?
Kevin: Oh, no, no, no, no. Not until you tell me what's really going on.
Ed: This is a piece of cake for a cop like Mc Bain.
Natalie: Ok, so why all the tests? Why don't you just give him his badge back?
Ed: I.A. has no doubt about his capability. It's the X-factor. His temper, his emotional involvement with his cases.
Natalie: Yeah, but that's what makes him such a great cop. I mean, you want him to be a robot?
Ed: Don't play games with me, Natalie. I make a living seeing through things like that.
Natalie: I'm just --I'm thinking about John here. You know, he lives for his job. Right now he's miserable, and every day that you keep him on suspension, the worse he gets. Look, I may not be with john anymore, but I want him to be happy.
Ed: And safe.
Natalie: Of course.
Ed: Well, believe it or not, so do I. The truth is I actually like john.
Natalie: Well, we'll see.
Ed: You are a very tough young lady. I admire that.
Natalie: So the assignment?
Ed: Is a done deal. If Lieutenant Mc Bain wants his badge back, he will deliver Todd Manning to the facility upstate without incident. After that, the commissioner and I will see about reinstating him.
Paige: Spencer, it's Paige again. Call me. This is out of control. I am not going to let Todd Manning die for something he didn't do.
Bo: Hi. Ok. What's going on?
Paige: I just, um -- I just needed to see you.
Bo: Well, good, I'm glad. Because you know what? When you called before, I thought you were about to say goodbye.
Paige: I just love you so much.
Bo: Well, I love you, too. Oh. You sure everything's ok? Hmm?
Paige: Yeah, just it's -- it's just been one of those days.
Bo: Good. Ok. I just didn't want it to become "one of those nights." Because, you know, it is Valentine's Day and I do want to at least have some kind of a celebration, so open it up.
Paige: Oh, gosh. I don't deserve you.
Bo: Oh. Yes, you do, ok?
Officer: Lieutenant, I'm going to check and see if they're ready for you.
Todd: This is wrong, Mc Bain.
John: Every skell's got the same story.
Todd: I'm no skell.
John: Let's get one thing straight. I don't like you.
Todd: Oh, you're breaking my heart.
John: No, I mean I really don't care whether you live or die. You're a means to an end, that's it.
Todd: Maybe we could work something out.
John: Don't push it, Manning. Let's hurry up in there! You know what I see when I look at you? I see Walker Flynn -- another piece of crap who got away with too much for too long.
Todd: That's because I borrowed his face.
John: Oh, but it fits, made-to-order.
Todd: You don't know anything about what I went through.
John: Everybody's got a story, man.
Todd: Yeah, but not everybody's got the guts to give up their identity. Do you have any idea what it's like to wake up every single morning and look at yourself in the mirror and not have any idea who it is you're seeing? I do. I did it for my family.
John: The family that counts, right? Not the Cochran kid. He doesn't matter. He's a second-class citizen.
Todd: Yeah, it's easy to talk tough to a guy in chains.
John: It's not about being tough. It's about being the guy who found the baby you left to die, you son of a bitch.
Todd: I didn't do it.
John: Yeah, you know what? Sooner or later, the judge is going to give you your special date . He'll give you the date for your big day when you get your injection, and you know what? You're going to know exactly how long you've got -- how many days, how many hours, how many minutes, how many breaths. So I tell you what, my recommendation would be don't waste another one on me because I ain't listening.
Todd: Get Evangeline on the phone.
John: She's obviously not picking up.
Todd: Then send somebody to find her.
John: My job's to transport you from point a to point B. That's all I'm doing.
Natalie: John! John!
Cristian: You know that door, the one that's supposed to open when the other one closes? You shouldn't let john screw that up.
Evangeline: I'm not.
Cristian: So where's your date?
Evangeline: I've been a little busy with some tough cases lately. Hello?
Cristian: Ok. Well, mine was one of them, right, and that's over, and so is Todd Manning's. So where's your date?
Evangeline: Cristian, I will throw paint around with you any day, but I will not discuss my messed-up love life. Not on Valentine's Day, anyway.
Cristian: Ok. That's cool. I get it.
Evangeline: So, what's going on with the boxing?
Cristian: That thing you were saying earlier about not talking about any of this stuff on Valentine's Day? Remember that? It was, like, a second ago?
Evangeline: Ok. How about those Sixers?
Cristian: How about those Sixers?
Adriana: So, how's detective school going? Worked your way up to trench coat and sunglasses 101?
Rex: That would be spy school.
Rex: But I've already got a few clients -- unofficial.
Adriana: For what?
Rex: I don't give up my clients. But this one guy thinks he got set up -- for something big, too.
Adriana: Any leads?
Rex: Not much. Best lead I had blew town. But I'm not going to let that stop me. I owe it to my client to keep looking.
Adriana: Trying to prove yourself to Bo?
Rex: Among others.
Marcie: Thank you, thank you for rescuing me. I thought she was going to keep me there all night long. I was over there so long, she wouldn't shut up, she just kept on talking and talking.
Michael: well, um, there's something that I, uh, would like to say to you.
Marcie: Ok. Well, shoot.
Michael: Ok. I don't think that I've had an opportunity to tell you how much I love you.
Marcie: I know. I know I haven't, you know, actually told you how much I love you. I haven't told you enough, either, but I think maybe -- maybe it's because I can't. You know, I mean -- I mean, because I think that I could tell you every single day that I love you and it still wouldn't be enough.
Michael: I feel -- I feel the same way, and so --
Rex: We've got some heavy hitters in the house tonight, people! You've all been hearing their latest hit, "You and me," like, everywhere. Let's give it up for Lifehouse!
Marcie: I love their album so much! Come on!
Singer: I was young but I wasn't naive I watched helpless as you turned around to leave and still I have the pain I have to carry a past so deep that even you could not bury if you tried whoa, oh after all this time I never thought we'd be here never thought we'd be here when my love for you was blind.
Spencer: Certainly didn't mean to complicate things for you, Blair, and I didn't mean to minimize your feelings about Todd. I'm really sorry if you feel like I did.
Blair: It is not you. It's me, it's Todd, it's this whole mess. I'm supposed to hate him.
Spencer: It's not an easy thing to do when you've loved someone for so long.
Blair: I really tried to forget about him, and I actually did -- for one night. And it felt right.
Spencer: It was right, Blair, it was.
Blair: For a moment. And now I'm just confused. I'm more confused and guilty than ever. But one thing I am very clear about is what happened between us, Spencer, can never happen again.
Singer: Would be like it was before but nights like this it seems, are surely fleeting they disappear as reality is crashing to the floor whoa, oh after all this time I never thought we'd be here never thought we'd be here when my love for you was blind but I couldn't make you see it couldn't make you see it that I loved you more than you'll ever know and part of me died when I let you go, oh na-na, na-na, no, no, no na-na, na-na, no, no, no yeah after all this, why would you ever wanna leave it? Maybe you could not believe it that my love for you was blind but I couldn't make you see it I couldn't make you see it that I loved you more than you'll ever know and part of me died when I let you go and I loved you more than you'll ever know and part of me died when I let you go
Blair: Spencer, I'm sorry.
Spencer: Don't be, don't be. I understand. You're just a little overwhelmed right now, as well you should be. The only thing that concerns me is that this might affect our friendship. Because if that ever happened, Blair, I would be devastated, you understand?
Blair: Well, I don't want to lose you, either.
Denton: Good dawning to you, Ms. Cramer.
Blair: What do you want?
Denton: I was out of town when I heard about your husband getting iced in the chair.
Blair: Yeah, and what do you care, Denton? Your testimony helped put him there.
Denton: Well, I was on the stand. You couldn't expect a guy like me to perjure myself, now, could you?
Blair: I guess not.
Denton: Look, Ms. Cramer, "The quality of mercy is not strained. It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven upon the place beneath." Your husband was like a son to me and I know he'd want me to have my job back at the paper.
Blair: Are you for real?
Denton: We were close. I swear, we were --
Blair: Yeah, I know how close you were, Denton. But I guess I should thank you because if I hadn't overheard you, I would still think Todd was innocent, right?
Denton: Well, you wouldn't want to back that gratitude up with a little cash? Or how about a kiss?
Blair: Get out of my face! Get out of my face! Spencer, Spencer, Spencer! Spencer, Spencer. It's all right. Spencer? Just leave him alone. He's not worth it.
Denton: "In faith in love, I take my leave."
Blair: Shut up!
Spencer: Don't let that dirtbag bother you.
Blair: No, no, I'm going to just go freshen up. Thank you.
Spencer: What the hell are you doing here?
Denton: What? I did it right. I played by the rules.
Spencer: The rules were very specific. You were to create some fiction about Todd, let Blair overhear, and get the hell out of town and do not come back! Don't make me unhappy, Denton. You definitely do not want to make me unhappy.
Denton: I -- I don't want to get anybody unhappy.
Todd: Natalie --
John: Get him on the plane, get him on the plane!
Todd: Call her! Tell her --
John: Shut up, Manning.
Todd: Tell her I was set up! You shut up! I was set up! I'm innocent!
John: Get him on the plane!
Todd: Natalie, you going to let me die?
John: What are you doing here?
Natalie: Why do you think? That guy's a psycho.
John: I told you I could handle it.
Natalie: I know, ok? I just have a really bad feeling.
John: Nothing bad's going to happen.
Natalie: Will you quit saying that to me? Bad things happen. You know that as much as I do.
John: Hopefully, it won't be like other times.
Natalie: No, no, it's not -- it's not about that. This is not being superstitious. Something happens to every guy that -- I just -- I don't want anything to happen to you, ok?
John: Nothing is.
Natalie: I just don't want anything to happen to you, ok? Could you please just get somebody else to do this?
Officer: Prisoner's secure. You're good to go.
John: Ok. I have to do this, Natalie. You know why.
Natalie: Please, John, does what I say matter to you at all?
John: What's going on? You're not usually like this.
Natalie: That's why you should listen to me, ok? Todd's bad luck.
John: You know, it's like shooting a game of pool. All it takes is a steady hand. Luck's got nothing to do with it.
Natalie: Ok, that's pool, that's not real life!
John: Same thing. Tell you what, when I get back, we'll play a couple games. Maybe I'll let you win one. Have to do this, Natalie.
Natalie: Please don't.
John: I'll be all right.
Michael: Where are you going?
Marcie: You know I hate to do this to you, but I think that I got to go home.
Michael: You can't.
Marcie: Why not?
Michael: Because it's not late yet.
Marcie: Yeah, but it's not that early, either.
Michael: You can't go. Because Lifehouse hasn't played "you and me" yet, and that's -- you know, that's my favorite song.
Marcie: I know. I know, but I'm exhausted. What is up with you tonight, anyway?
Michael: Up with me?
Michael: Nothing's up with me. Everything's fine. I'm -- I'm fine. Everything's fine.
Marcie: You sure you're all right?
Michael: I'm sure, I'm fine.
Marcie: All right, I'm going to go get my jacket.
Michael: Ok, turns out I really do need your help.
Rex: Sorry, I was good before, but I'm swamped now.
Adriana: Oh, come on, Rex! It's not every day that a guy proposes to his girlfriend.
Rex: I got a houseful of people paying big bucks to hear this band tonight. This place doesn't run itself.
Michael: The band! That's it! Lifehouse is going to save my life. Come on, I'll tell you what you got to do. Come on, come on, come on.
Evangeline: I thought the wizards really gave the Sixers a run for their money last weekend.
Cristian: Well, I never would've figured you for a sports freak.
Evangeline: Blame John. Oh, my gosh. There I go again.
Cristian: What? We're just talking about the Sixers.
Evangeline: Well, don't let me get started on the Eagles. I'll bore you to tears.
Cristian: Not a chance.
Spencer: Hey, you all right?
Blair: I'm not sure, but I think I will be.
Spencer: Well, I think I know just exactly what you need. That is, if you trust me enough.
Blair: I do.
Spencer: All right. I'll get our coats.
Kelly: I just told you what I'm doing. I'm redecorating the room. I want to change things.
Kevin: I know. But I don't think you're talking about the wall. All right? You want to have a family, and I can't give you one. And I understand the urge to want to take that out on something. I get it.
Kelly: Kevin, this is not your fault.
Kevin: Well, that doesn't make it easier for either one of us to deal with it, does it?
Kelly: I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
Kevin: Well, you've definitely done some damage here. Looks like we're committed to exposed brick.
Kelly: Look, I'm frustrated and I'm upset, but I'm not giving up hope. Just because we can't make a baby now doesn't mean that we'll never be able to.
Kevin: I know. Listen, uh, it looks good. Keep up the good work.
Kelly: Well, I was actually thinking about taking a break. Interested?
Kevin: What? What kind of worker are you? Come on, are you kidding me? You can't quit the job half done. Hello, wall. Goodbye, wall.
Adriana: You really put it together tonight.
Rex: I'm not done yet.
Adriana: I know. What you're doing for Michael and Marcie is --
Rex: I'm not talking about them.
Rex: Holy --
Rex: All right, that case I told you about? I just saw the lead I thought disappeared. This is huge or, I swear, nothing would take me away from this spot. Tell me you understand.
Adriana: I understand.
Michael: Listen, the band says they'll do it. Let's go.
Rex: Hey, everybody. Let's give it up one more time for Lifehouse!
Singer: What day is it? And in what month? This clock never seemed so alive I can't keep up and I can't back down I've been losing so much time 'cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do nothing to lose it's you and me and all of the people and I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you all of the things that I want to say just aren't coming out right I'm tripping on words you've got my head spinning I don't know where to go from here 'cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do nothing to pro and it's you and me and all of the people and I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you there's something about you now that I can't quite figure out and everything she does is beautiful everything she does is right 'cause it's you and me and all of the people with nothing to do nothing to lose and it's you and me and all of the people and I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you and me and all of the people with nothing to do nothing to prove it's you and me and all of the people and I don't know why I can't keep my eyes off of you
Singer: What day is it? And in what month? This clock never seemed so alive
On the next "One Life to Live" --
Nash: Maybe you're right, maybe I should be in love with Jessica.
Starr: I'm going to turn Margaret in.
Spencer: What makes you think that I would leave her in any condition to talk?
Todd: I'm going to make Spencer Truman pay for what he's done to me.
