Nash: Fire's out, but it's still hot.
Antonio: Well, whoever was here must have just left.
Clint: I'd say they left about 20 minutes ago or so.
Antonio: What did Bo say when you talked to him?
Clint: Not all that much, but he's on his way over here.
Nash: Here's something -- a purse. It's empty.
Clint: It's Viki's. The fact that they left it behind means only one thing -- she's still Niki.
Nash: How do you figure?
Clint: Because she took Viki's wallet with the cash and credit in order to take off.
Nash: With Tess.
Clint: I am not convinced that she's Tess. I mean, she could be Jessie and Niki is just forcing her to go along with everything.
Antonio: No. No, it's not. And it's not Jessica, it's Tess.
Nash: How do you know?
Antonio: Because I found this.
Niki: So, how long you been trucking, huh?
Trucker: What are you talking about me for? I'd much rather talk about you and that little gal beside you. So what are you o, sisters?
Niki: Sisters? Yeah, she's a little younger.
Trucker: Oh, not by much. Now, now, not by much. You're both a couple of lookers.
Trucker: So where'd you say you were going?
Niki: I didn't. But now that you mention it, there used to be a place just outside of Llanview on route 9 called the hot spot? Do you know it?
Trucker: Still do. Hell, I've bellied up to the bar there more times than I can count.
Niki: That's great. It's still around, huh? Good. Well, that's where I want to go. It's important.
Trucker: That's kind of a crazy place.
Niki: Yeah, I'm kind of a crazy broad. We both are.
Margaret: I'd like to know exactly how your plan to save Todd is going to work.
Spencer: I don't have time right now, Margaret.
Margaret: Oh, but it would give me peace of mind.
Spencer: Well, Todd is going to stay on death row right up until the moment of his execution and I'm going to step in and make the switch.
Margaret: Oh, but won't he be tied to a table in front of a whole roomful of witnesses? I mean, how are you going to switch his body for someone else's?
Spencer: Just think of it as like a really great magic trick, ok? And a good magician never reveals his secrets.
Margaret: Oh, well, you're going to reveal this one. Or I am going to have to reveal to the entire world that you framed Todd for a murder that never even happened.
Paige: Hello? This is she. Yes, I called earlier about visiting Todd Manning. It's important, so I was hoping my request would be -- yeah. Thank you. So when will someone call me back? Great. I'll wait.
David: Why do you need to see Todd Manning?
Blair: Hello, Todd.
Todd: This is --
Todd: I didn't expect to see you. But -- boy, I can't find the words. How you doing? You ok? I mean, physically, are you ok? I mean, I know you passed out in the courtroom.
Blair: I'm handling things. Or at least I was until I heard that you refused your appeal for the death penalty. Is that true?
Blair: Why, Todd? Why are you giving up on yourself like that?
Todd: What do you care? You've already given up on me. And without you, my life isn't worth anything.
Michael: So, party was good?
Marcie: Yeah, it really was. You should've seen Adriana's face, though, when she saw all those photos of herself blown up. Ha! She was really happy, though.
Michael: Huh, I bet s was.
Waitress: What can I get you?
Marcie: Um --
Michael: You want to split a sundae?
Marcie: That sounds great.
Marcie: Thanks. So, how was your day?
Michael: Blair Cramer came into the hospital suffering from exhaustion, panic, hyperventilation.
Marcie: I don't even know how she's going through everything.
Michael: You know what it made me think? It made me think that I have to take time to appreciate the things that I have.
Marcie: Me, too. You know, when I think about all the time that we wasted being --
Michael: Marcie, why don't we spend the rest of our time making up for the time we wasted?
Marcie: Michael, you're so cute.
Michael: Listen --
Michael: Since we're on the subject of the rest of our lives, there's something that I've been meaning to talk to you about.
Marcie: Oh! Oh, I'm expecting a phone call from Ronnie! Just wait one second, ok? He has a big project.
Michael: No, go ahead.
Marcie: Yeah, it's him. Hold on. Ronnie? Ronnie? Hold on, ok? Listen, Iíll be right back, so whatever it is that you were about to tell me, right, just hold on.
Michael: Yeah, no, I'll be -- right here.
Marcie: Yeah, how is it? Everything went ok? Ok.
Paige: Why do you care what I do or why?
David: Paige, just sit down for a second. Sit down.
David: You are a wreck, and I'm pretty sure it's got something to do with what we were talking about earlier. Spencer has you over a barrel, but somehow now it's involving Bo?
Paige: You're right. It's all connected, and I -- I just can't not talk about it anymore.
David: Ok, that -- good. That's good. Why don't we -- we'll work it backwards. What does it have to do with Todd Manning?
Paige: He needs my help. But if I help him, I will ruin Bo's life.
Bo: Got here as fast as I could. What's going on?
Clint: Well, Niki and Tess were here. They left, I'd guess, about 20, 30 minutes ago. And also we found this.
Bo: Viki left without her purse?
Clint: Yeah, Niki ditched it after taking the essentials of the cash and the credit cards.
Bo: All right.
Antonio: Oh, and there was a letter.
Bo: Where is it?
Clint: Nash has it. It had his name on it. I'm assuming it's from Tess.
Bo: What's it say?
Nash: I haven't opened it yet.
Clint: Nash? Could be information in there about their whereabouts. Listen, son, I know what you're going through, but time is of the essence and they've already got a head start on us.
Tess' voice: "Hey, Nash. Since you're reading this, you obviously found the cabin. Niki and I are hitting the road, so I'm long gone. I'd like to have said goodbye, but truth is I didn't want to. Not now that you're falling in love with Jessica."
Tess' voice: "Niki made me see I was living in dream world. Alters never get the guy. Too high-maintenance. Don't beat yourself up about it. You're the normal one and Jessica's me without all the headaches. I'm cool with that, really. I can take care of myself. Who knows, maybe I'll see you around sometime. I doubt it, though. I don't plan on coming back. It's time for me to go my way and for you to go yours."
Antonio: Well, what does it say?
Niki: So what do you say, Charlie, honey, you going to drop us off at the hot spot?
Trucker: That's kind of out of my way, honey.
Niki: Well, wouldn't you like to belly up to the bar, you know, for old times' sake?
Trucker: I'd much rather belly up to something else.
Niki: Yeah, tempting as that may be, I really got to get to the hot spot.
Trucker: I've got a hot spot for you, honey.
Niki: I'll just bet you do. But, see, there's this guy there, you know, used to hang out at the joint, and I need to find him.
Tess: What guy?
Niki: What are you doing up?
Tess: What the hell are you doing, Niki?
Tess: I told you not to do this.
Niki: What? I ain't doing nothing.
Tess: Trying to dig up my past?
Niki: No, I'm not!
Tess: Trying to find out my secret?
Niki: Hey, last thing I'm interested in right now is your little secret.
Trucker: I love a girl with fire in her eyes.
Niki: Yeah. I was just thinking about, you know -- you know, going back to my old stomping grounds and, you know, strolling down memory lane.
Tess: Bull! You were going to track down the man that hurt me.
Trucker: Say what?
Niki: No! I wasn't talking about that scum.
Tess: What --
Niki: I was talking about other guy, you know, one of my old boyfriends. I was just wondering if he was still hanging around, that's all.
Tess: Whatever happened to me is none of your business.
Niki: Ok. Jeez. Just trying to help you out, for God's sakes. You know, I thought we'd find the creep and kick his butt.
Tess: Just shut up about him, ok? Just shut up!
Tess: We're not tracking anybody down, and that's final. Pull over this truck.
Tess: Yes, here! It's time for Niki and Tess to split up permanently.
Michael: Thank you.
David: Help Todd Manning? How are you going to do that? He's already been convicted and sentenced to death.
Paige: That doesn't mean he's guilty.
David: Do you have reason to believe he's innocent?
Paige: Look, David, I'm sorry, I just -- I really need to be alone right now.
Paige: So just please excuse me.
David: Paige, hold on. First you tell me that Spencer's done something, but you can't tell me what, and then you tell me that Todd Manning may not have killed Marg-- are you telling me Spencer killed Margaret Cochran?
Spencer: Who in the hell do you think you are?
Margaret: Moi? Watch your mouth around the baby.
Spencer: That brat would not exist if it weren't for me.
Margaret: Oh, hardly. You see, T.J. is the product of Todd and me -- our love, our sacred union.
Spencer: You had to rape Todd to get what you wanted.
Margaret: Oh, ha! You weren't there.
Spencer: Listen to me, lady -- reality check! When I found you, you were in an alley homeless, a fugitive from justice, you and your kid! Not only did I give you a place to stay and a place to hide, I also made it possible for you to get Todd back, and this is the way you're going to repay me? By threatening to expose me?
Margaret: Look, when you found me in that alleyway, I was so happy that whatever you said didn't make any sense. It didn't matter to me. But now I have been putting some things together, and your plan just doesn't seem to add up.
Spencer: That's because you're too damn stupid to understand.
Margaret: No, on the contrary, Dr. Truman! I'm actually very bright and perceptive. What I want to know from you is, what do you stand to gain from me and Todd being happy? And don't give me that song and dance about helping two people who belong together.
Spencer: Well, it's the truth, Margaret. I do want to help two people who belong together, I swear on my mother's grave.
Margaret: Except you don't mean Todd and me. You're talking about you and Blair.
Blair: This isn't about me, Todd.
Todd: Who then?
Blair: Our kids. You owe it to them to fight.
Blair: Do you even consider what this is doing to them? Do you know how much they love you, how much they worship the ground that you walk on, Todd? It's killing them for you not to be there in their lives.
Todd: I'm doing this for them, so we can get it over with quickly. I'm doing it for Starr and Jack.
Blair: Damn it, Todd.
Todd: This -- this appeals process could take years, and --
Blair: So what?
Todd: "So what?"
Todd: So -- uh -- we probably won't win. And even if I did win, I'm never going to come back to them, they're never going to see me again. So they're going to have to face that, and so let's just get it over with quickly.
Blair: You're talking about your life here, Todd!
Todd: No, we're talking about Starr and jack's lives, getting on with their lives. That's what you're doing, isn't it?
Todd: Getting on with your life with Spencer?
Todd: What's wrong, did I hit a nerve?
Bo: I understand you're short-handed, commander, but if you could have your troopers set up roadblocks on route 7 --
Clint: Nash, I wouldn't put much stock in that letter. Tess is being influenced by Niki.
Nash: These are Tess' words. Niki smith didn't write the letter.
Clint: We don't know what's going on between the two of them, so don't jump to conclusions.
Nash: She wrote that they were going to hit the road!
Clint: Yeah, but --
Nash: Yeah, well, they're not here, are they? So they hit the road!
Clint: Well, you know, Bo is working with the state police and the highway patrol.
Nash: I got to get to Tess, all right? I have to make her understand that I don't love Jessica! I never have, I never will! All right, I'm out of here.
Antonio: No, you're not.
Nash: Oh, come on, you're -- just let me --
Clint: Nash, I am not letting you run out of here halfcocked. Now, you got to let Bo and the troopers handle this, all right? We'll get involved once they have a plan.
Nash: Tess is out there! She's angry! She's upset! She's not thinking right! She's pregnant with my baby! I've got to get to her before Niki Smith does any more damage!
Niki: Girl, you need some anger management.
Tess: What I need is to get out of this damn truck now.
Trucker: Don't you go cursing my rig.
Niki: Get out and go where?
Tess: Away from you. Now, pull over!
Niki: Don't listen to her. Just keep driving.
Tess: Stop the truck!
Trucker: Should kick you both out.
Trucker: You are more trouble than you're worth.
Tess: I am going to start my own life -- no you, no Nash, no nobody, just me and my kid. Now, pull the truck over on the side of the road!
Niki: Oh, just go on, get out of here. Who needs you. I'm ok on my own. I'm better, in fact. I got Charlie here to keep me company.
Travis: Ok, here's your stop, little sister.
Tess: You've been warned, Niki. Stay away from that bar. And if you stick your nose in this, be prepared to lose it.
Marcie: Ronnie -- he's this close to getting a really big job. He just got a phone call from the site manager and she really wants him for the job, but, you know, he has to wait until they get a phone call from on high, that kind of thing.
Michael: Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed for him.
Marcie: Ok. That looks really good.
Michael: Oh, yeah, well, I waited for you to get back to start it.
Marcie: Well, then we'd better dig in before it melts --
Michael: No, don't eat that!
David: So Spencer murdered Margaret. Somehow, you found out about it, but now you can't say anything because of Bo. My God, the one crime I thought my brother didn't commit --
Paige: Would you shut up? Shut up! You don't know anything about this. Spencer is not a murderer.
David: Then he didn't kill her?
Paige: No, it's -- it's much more diabolical than that.
Spencer: You think I'm interested in Blair?
Margaret: Well, I didn't get where I am today by being naive. And I know that you plan everything down to the finest detail.
Spencer: That's right, I do. That's the only reason that you and that little bundle of Todd over there are still drawing breath. I should think you would be grateful.
Margaret: Oh! Oh, don't waste your time with that. You see, truth is all that matters to me. And the truth is you want to get Todd out of the way so that you can be with Blair.
Spencer: Is that so?
Margaret: Yes. I've been in your shoes before. I've done the same thing. I put Blair in the trunk of a car so that I could be with Todd.
Margaret: I had no intention of letting her out. I know that you have no intention of saving Todd from the executioner. Hmm. Gotcha, didn't I? Oh!
Spencer: Just couldn't leave well enough alone, could you, you sick little bitch! Why couldn't you just follow along with the plan?
Margaret: You don't have to be so nasty!
Spencer: Nasty? Do you really want to see nasty?
Margaret: Oh! Ok. I don't mean to be ungrateful. I'm just putting the pieces together, and this is what I've come up with. It's the only way that I survive.
Spencer: Well, poor, pitiful, pathetic Peggy. I think your luck may have just run out.
Margaret: I was right. All you care about is Blair.
Spencer: Oh, yes. And everything you said is true. Todd Manning is going to die. And where do you think that leaves you?
Waitress: Here you go.
Waitress: Should I bring you another sundae?
Marcie: No. Definitely not. Thanks, anyway.
Michael: Here. It's not that bad. Is it?
Marcie: Michael, aside from my shirt being soaked and my pants being smeared with hot fudge sundae, no, it's completely fine, Michael!
Marcie: You know what I don't get is why you did that.
Michael: It was an accident?
Marcie: You grabbed the spoon from my mouth, Michael!
Michael: It was dirty -- the spoon -- and I thought that you should have another one.
Marcie: No, you didn't! The spoon was fine! And even if it had been dirty, you never would've noticed that!
Michael: Ok, fine! All right, fine, I just thought that --
Marcie: You thought what, Michael? What did you think? Did you think that I should be eating something more healthy, nutritious, like -- like cantaloupe and cottage cheese? That's what you thought! That is what you thought, isn't it?
Michael: No. No, that's actually not what I thought.
Marcie: Well, then please explain, Michael -- and this time I would like the truth.
Michael: The truth?
Michael: You want the truth?
Marcie: Yes, I want the truth!
Michael: Ok, the truth is that I saw a peanut in your sundae.
Marcie: A peanut?
Michael: Yes, a -- a peanut, and I know that you're allergic to peanuts, and so I didn't want you to eat it, ok? I was being overprotective, I guess.
Marcie: Well, why didn't you just tell me that in the first place?
Michael: I don't know. I feel kind of stupid right now.
Marcie: I can't believe you! You really thought I was about to eat a peanut?
Michael: Scout's honor. And I'm really sorry about your clothes.
Marcie: Fine. Fine.
Michael: Look, I'll pay to get them dry-cleaned.
Marcie: They're machine-washable, but I'm going to the ladies' room and clean myself up.
Michael: Right. Oh, it's a good thing I was never a scout.
David: If Spencer didn't kill Margaret, then what did he do?
Paige: Look, please just -- just forget this whole thing.
David: Oh, ok. Well, that should be easy. I'll just think of a few of my favorite things -- puppies, fields of clover. Hey, you ever been to an eastern European "dolphin" show?
Paige: Oh. This is the call.
David: "The call?"
Paige: From the prison, about my visit to Todd Manning. Hello?
Todd: I'm right, aren't I? You've moved on with Spencer.
Blair: Todd. How can you even ask me about something like that when you're about to be put to death?
Todd: Well, that's why I'm asking now. Later will be too late.
Blair: How can you joke about it? It's your life.
Todd: Yeah, that's right -- my life, my decision. Stay out of it.
Blair: Well, I can't. I can't just sit back and watch you throw your life away.
Todd: But -- but -- uh -- I'm a murderer, aren't I? Huh? Isn't this what I deserve? You look me in the eye.
Todd: You look me in the eye and you tell me I'm innocent. Tell me you believe I didn't kill Margaret and my unborn child. You tell me that, maybe, maybe I'll think about appealing. Yeah, that's what I thought. Guard, ok? Let's go.
Margaret: You never meant to reunite me with Todd. You just set him up so that he would die. Oh, and stupid fool that I am, I helped you!
Spencer: You're breaking my heart, Margaret.
Margaret: As if you have one! I never should've trusted you. Oh, well, just wait until people find out that I'm still alive. Hmm.
Spencer: And how do you think they're going to do that, Margaret? I mean, do you seriously think that I'm going to let you out of here?
Margaret: Huh. Well, what about that woman who helped deliver my baby? She knows that I'm still alive.
Spencer: Oh, Paige? She's not going to say a word. She'd be a damn fool if she did.
Margaret: Well, you can't just lock me up in here forever.
Spencer: I don't intend to.
Margaret: Well, then what? It's not like you could just -- kill me.
Spencer: Actually, Peggy, it's a lot like that.
Bo: All right, they're mustering every available trooper. Between them and the Llanview P.D., we should be able to block most major arteries.
Nash: Ha-ha, most, but not all. See ya.
Bo: No, wait a minute. Where you going?
Clint: He doesn't know, Bo, but he thinks he's going to have much better luck than you will.
Bo: Is that right?
Nash: What if something happened to somebody who you loved while you were sitting around on your buttocks waiting for somebody to do something? Could you live with that? No. Excuse me.
Antonio: He's right.
Bo: Antonio --
Antonio: I got to get out there and find Jessica.
Bo: Antonio, you're making a mistake. You know that.
Antonio: Yeah, that might be, but I got to give it a shot. It's the least I can do. I'll call if I find anything.
Bo: We're going to find Niki and Tess, Clint.
Clint: Well, I know this is not the time to be pointing fingers, Bo, but I warned Viki. I warned her that letting Niki out was just a disaster.
Bo: Yeah, she was trying to help her daughter.
Clint: Yeah. I think all she's done is pushed her further away.
Tess: Well, things sure are looking up, Tess. Oh, sure, it's freezing and you're in the middle of nowhere, but at least you are finally free. Free from Niki, free from Nash, free to be completely alone.
Jessica's voice: You forgot one thing, Tess. There's no way you'll ever be free of me.
Niki: You know, sorry you had to hear that little spat, Charlie.
Travis: And it sounded like a lot more than a little spat. It seems to me like you and that Tess gal have some serious issues.
Niki: Nah, she's got a quick temper, that's all it is.
Travis: Why was she so hot to keep you away from that bar, and why are you so hot to get there?
Niki: You know what they say about curiosity, don't you, Charlie, huh?
Travis: Travis. What is it? That looks like a roadblock.
Niki: Damn it! That's the cops. Charlie, you got to hide me!
Tess: Get out of my head, Jessica. Go -- ugh. Go back under whatever rock it was you slithered out from.
Jessica's voice: You may be in control now, but what are you going to do when you go into labor? Do you really want to go through all that pain, or are you going to run and hide? Because that's what I'm banking on, that exact thing. And when it happens, I'm taking over for good.
Bo: You know, Jessica's strong, Clint. She's going to be able to beat this illness just like her mom did.
Clint: Unfortunately, Viki's still in the thick of it.
Bo: Yeah, but Viki can hold her own against Niki Smith.
Clint: Yeah, I'm praying that you're right. Bo, if anything happens to her, if anything happens to either of them --
Bo: I think you still have feelings for Viki.
Clint: Well, yeah, of course I do. She's the mother of my children.
Bo: Are you sure it's not more than that?
Bo: Oh. Then I guess it's no big deal that you were alone in that hotel room with Dorian Lord.
Bo: Excuse me. Hey, it's Paige. Hey, honey.
Paige: Hi. Hi, it's me. I know you're really busy, so I'm not going to keep you. I just -- I just want to tell you that I love you, no matter what happens.
Bo: That sounds strange. What's going on?
Paige: I just -- I just wanted you to know that.
Bo: Where are you?
Paige: I have to go.
Clint: Bo, what's wrong?
Bo: That's what I'd like to know.
Marcie: Michael, this is so gross.
Michael: Honey, it's really not that bad.
Michael: It's not! Look, if anybody can pull it off, you can.
Marcie: Hmm, you. You are just being nice to me because you did this to me!
Michael: That is not why I'm being nice to you.
Marcie: Oh, yeah, it is.
Michael: And -- I'm really sorry.
Marcie: You know, you may have saved my life. If I'd eaten that peanut, Lord knows what would've happened. But, you, mister? You're making this up to me big time, ok? Now, come on, we got to get ready for that party at Ultra Violet. I got to change.
Michael: That's right. That's right, I can make it all up to you at the party at Ultra Violet.
Marcie: I've just been busting your chops. I forgive you.
Michael: Still, I promise I am going to make tonight a night you will never forget.
Marcie: You already have, Michael. You already have.
David: Wait a second. Wait.
Paige: No, no --
David: I can't let you do this.
Paige: You can't stop me, David.
David: Paige, I'm not trying to stop you, I'm trying to help you, but I can't do that unless you tell me what's going on.
Paige: Nobody can help me, ok? I'm in this by myself, and I know what I have to do.
Margaret's voice: It's not like you could just kill me.
Spencer: It's a lot like that.
Travis: Coast is clear. You can come up now.
Niki: Man, that blanket has got one powerful smell. Listen, thanks a lot for hiding me.
Travis: Now, what do you need to hide from the cops for?
Niki: Because they want to turn me into somebody I'm not.
Travis: I hear you, darling.
Niki: So, you going to drop me off at the hot spot?
Travis: Now, what is that for?
Niki: I always pay my way. You know, it ain't much, but it's all I got.
Travis: Well, I hope you find what you're looking for there.
Niki: Yeah, me, too. My whole existence depends on it.
Tess: It's been a long time since I heard your squeaky voice in my head, Jessica. Jessica, you still there? Thank God for small favors. Now I've got to hitch myself a ride.
Tess: I still got it.
Tess: Hey, going --
Todd: Hey, you sure this isn't the same visitor as before?
Guard: See for yourself.
Todd: Who are you? What do you want?
Paige: We've met before. I'm Dr. Paige Miller. I have information that you need, information that will save your life.
Spencer: Blair. There you are. I've been looking all over for you. I found you.
Spencer: You know, I was worried about you. You all right? I thought we could talk about what happened between us tonight.
Blair: You know, I -- uh -- I really don't want to talk about it, and I should go.
Todd: Well, nothing's going to save my life now. My life's already over. I've been found guilty of two murders and I've been sentenced to death.
Paige: I know all of that. But I -- I also know you were set up.
On the next "One Life to Live" --
Tess: You have zero feelings for Jessica and I'm just dreaming this all up?
Nash: No, I can't say that.
John: This assignment, it's more of a punishment than a reward. I'm stuck on a plane with Manning for the next few hours.
Todd: You know for a fact that I'm innocent? How?
