Tess: Nash is on his way back from California, and I am not budging until he gets here. I mean, that should make you guys all happy, right? You wanted to keep me locked up here anyway.
Antonio: Actually, no. No, I was thinking that -- that maybe we should leave just -- just for a little while.
Clint: Antonio, no, I don't think so. She needs to stay put.
Antonio: Look, please, I -- I have an idea, and the only way it's going to work is if we're all willing to cooperate.
Tess: Please, hurry up and tell us. I know I can hardly wait.
Antonio: Come with me to our loft. I promise I'll have you back here before Nash's flight arrives. I have something I want to show you.
Tess: It's your loft, and I would rather drink drain opener than go anywhere with you.
Antonio: It -- it might change the way you feel about things.
Tess: Oh, I like the way I feel about things, actually. The only place I want to be is with Nash. He's the only one that lets me be me, and I'm going to stay put until he comes back. End of story.
Nash: Te-- Tess --
Kelly: So you'll have those numbers for me first thing? Ok, great. Talk to you soon. Hi.
Kelly: How you doing?
Dorian: Well, you tell me. You're the one who had surgery a few days ago. How are you?
Kelly: Great. Never felt better. And as soon as Spencer gives us the ok, then Kevin and I are going to try to start having a baby.
Dorian: Oh, Kelly, really, how can you even consider having that man's baby?
Kelly: All right, stop. Before you go any further, there's something you should know. Kevin and I are engaged, and we're going to be married as soon as possible.
Kevin: What's the look for? Now, come on, David, there's obviously something you want to tell me.
David: You know what? As a matter of fact -- as a matter of fact, there is. I'd like to know how it is that you do it. How do you, Kevin, be such a bastard but still end up coming out on top? I'd like to know exactly how it is that you do that.
Natalie: Don't do this, John.
John: You got to listen to me, Natalie.
Natalie: No, no! See, I don't want to. I don't want to hear it, not ever again. The Cristian I knew is gone. Nothing can change that. Nothing can change the feelings that I had for him before everything went wrong, ok? The life we had, the love we shared is over. And if Cristian came walking through that door right now, I would tell him the only man I want to be with tonight and every night is John Mc Bain.
Guard: Heard you might be getting out soon, maybe before Christmas. What you going to do?
Cristian: I'm going to fight like hell to get my wife back.
Guard: Good news, Vega.
Cristian: Natalie, what --
Natalie: You're free.
Natalie: It's true. Evangeline got your conviction overturned. You can come home.
Cristian: With you?
Natalie: The only thing I want is to be your wife again. I love you.
Antonio: Clint, please, let me take her to the loft. I know what I'm doing.
Tess: I can hear you, you know. And I don't really care what you or "Pa" want. I'm not leaving here until Nash walks through that door.
Clint: Now, you may not understand this, but, Tess, you are a part of this family. You're a Buchanan no matter what.
Tess: And you can't do a damn thing about it, "daddy," no matter what. God, what a bunch of control freaks you guys are. It must be driving you nuts dealing with an unknown quantity like myself.
Viki: Tess, look, please --
Tess: I saw what you did to Niki. You let her out, she caused too much trouble, and you got rid of her, and you're not going to do the same thing to me just because I'm inconvenient.
Viki: It's not that simple, and you and I know that better than anyone.
Tess: It seems pretty straightforward to me.
Viki: I did not get rid of Niki, any more than we want to get rid of you.
Tess: So you're telling me, if you had a magic wand that you could just wave and get your precious little Jessica back, you wouldn't do it?
Viki: We don't want to eliminate you, and we couldn't if we tried because you are a part of Jessica. And until you accept that, we're going to keep going round and round in this vicious circle, and no one, especially not that baby you're carrying, is going to win.
Kevin: You want to run that by me again?
David: Who the hell do you think you are, huh? Strutting around here, getting congratulatory pats from everybody. Can life be that unfair? Actually, I guess it can. What am I talking about?
Kevin: Dave, I have no idea what you're talking about.
David: Do you even remember that you cheated on your wife with her own cousin?
Kevin: Of course I remember that!
David: You wrecked your marriage, you grabbed custody of your stolen baby, and you nearly destroyed Kelly's life for good. Look at you now, huh? You're engaged to Kelly again. You're talking about having a baby, a baby that hopefully you won't have to steal this time. Does that seem right to you?
Kevin: Look, just this morning you were congratulating Kelly and me on our engagement. Heck, what you said was half the reason why I asked her, remember?
David: I said that for Kelly's benefit, and next time I'll keep my mouth shut.
Kevin: I see what this is about. Ok, I'm happy and you're miserable, and you just can't stand that.
David: You're right, I can't stand it. I can't stand the fact that no matter how many heinous things you do to people, you Buchanan’s continue to walk through clover while the rest of us wallow in misery.
Natalie: I'm yours.
( Dance music playing )
Dorian: Thank you.
Kelly: You're awfully quiet.
Dorian: And what would you like me to say? "Oh, I am so happy for you?"
Kelly: Yes. Yes, that would be really nice, but I'm not sure I would believe you.
Dorian: Hence the silence.
Kelly: This is so unfair.
Dorian: Mm-hmm. I think so, too. In fact, I think that all of the Cramer women have the most atrocious taste in men. All of us, and that would include me. But that is going to change as of right now.
Kelly: I'm not sure what that means. Are you already seeing somebody else?
Dorian: Oh, and would that really be so terrible?
Kelly: No. No, I just -- I don't know. Kevin and I love each other. Even after everything we've been through, I've never stopped loving him, and now I have a second chance, and I'm going to take that chance. We're going to have the baby that we always wanted. I don't see how that could be a bad thing.
Viki: I don't want you to disappear. It would be very unhealthy for Jessica.
Tess: Well, too bad. It would happen. I would disappear. I wouldn't even be dead, I'd just vanish. It would be like I wasn't even here in the first place.
Viki: No, no, that's not true. You would become a part of Jessica when you're integrated.
Tess: Really? That's nice, because I've always wanted to be the little toe of a wasp princess.
Viki: Oh, come on, you know that she's much more than that, or you wouldn't exist.
Tess: Is this supposed to be comforting to me? Because it doesn't feel that way. I -- I mean, I'm just supposed to get my head shrunk until I disappear -- but, oh, oh, wait -- I'll go inside Jessica and I'll be a part of her until someday she needs me and she can call on me. But in the meantime, I can kiss my life with Nash goodbye so she can be with her precious little Antonio. Well, you can forget it.
Viki: Well, I guess there's nothing I can say to make you believe that we don't want you to disappear.
Viki: But you have to know we're not giving up on Jessica. She's our little girl, and she has lived a very full and vibrant life in that body.
Tess: I can't do this.
Antonio: You know, maybe we could all try and talk about the future instead of talking about the past.
Tess: Well, I'm still here, guys, so --
Antonio: Yes, I know. I know, Tess. Why don't you come home with me, just for a few hours, all right? That way you can see what's ahead of you instead of looking behind you all the time. Please?
Tess' voice: Nash? Can you hear me? Nash?
Natalie: Oh, Cristian. I'm so -- I'm sorry. I never wanted a divorce. I was just -- I was so scared and hurt and confused. You know, I lost you twice. The thought of it happening again, it was -- it was too much. And no matter what horrible things I said, I never stopped loving you.
Cristian: Please tell me this isn't a dream.
Natalie: Oh, it's real. You can come home . We can finally start our life over.
Cristian: Never thought I'd see you look at me that way again.
Natalie: Better get used to it.
Guard: You're free, Mr. Vega. Congratulations and good luck.
Natalie: Let's go home.
Cristian: Guard! I need to see my lawyer!
Antonio: Are you ok?
Clint: Look, I don't know what Antonio has in mind, but I give you my word -- when Nash comes back to Llanview, we won't try to keep you away from him. Now, look, nobody can tell you who to love. Nobody can try to change your feelings about things. But until this comes to an end, we've got to stop trying to force feelings down each other's throat, and instead we got to try and help each other out. And that includes you, Tess, just as much as it includes Jessica or any one of us here.
Tess: Thank you.
Clint: Now, Antonio wants you to come to his place, and he wants to show you something that obviously is very important to him. I want you to trust that he won't try and hurt you. Can you do that?
Tess: On one condition. I want to call Nash back. I think I can reach him on his cell.
Antonio: Ok. You can call when we get back to the loft.
Tess: Do you swear?
Tess: All right, let's get this over with.
Tess: You'd better not be lying to me.
Viki: We're not. We give you our word.
Antonio: We'll be back soon.
Viki: Oh, my God. Are we ever going to have our baby back completely?
Clint: Viki, the way I see it is she's your daughter, and she's going to fight her way back to us just the way you did.
Viki: I don't know what I would've done without you the last couple of weeks.
Woman: Well, maybe you shouldn't get too used to it.
Kelly: I know what you're doing.
Dorian: I haven't said a word, have I?
Kelly: You don't have to. I can see what's going on in that brain of yours. You are currently running through the litany of Kevin's sins. So what are we up to?
Dorian: Hmm. I'm somewhere between his sleeping with your cousin Blair and his taking your baby away from you.
Kelly: And I was totally blameless in all that.
Dorian: Look, it isn't as if Kevin suddenly turned into a louse with you. I mean, look at what he did to Cassie.
Kelly: Oh, I see, we're going way back.
Dorian: Well, she never was the same again after Kevin. She -- she won't even come here to visit.
Kelly: You could go see her.
Dorian: Yes, I could.
Dorian: And I think I will.
Kelly: That's a good idea. I will buy you a ticket for the evening of our wedding.
Dorian: Why? Don't you want me at your wedding?
Kelly: Of course I want you at the wedding. I need you there. But not if you're going to constantly be making these remarks, or sit in the front row and cast hexes at us.
Dorian: Oh, I wouldn't do that. Besides which, my broomstick is in the shop.
Kelly: Look, I know that I haven't always made the best decisions. But I have done a lot of growing up in the last few years. Kevin and I both have. And I love him with all my heart. We're going to have a baby, and everything is going to work out perfectly. You'll see.
Kevin: Hey. I don't know what happened to you between this morning and now, but I don't see how it serves either one of us to be at each other's throats. Ok?
David: Well, of course you don't, Kevin. You only see what's good for you.
Kevin: Actually, I was thinking about Kelly. She happens to like you. She feels bad about what happened between you and Dorian.
David: This sounds like it's warming up to a pep talk, so if that's the case just spare me.
Kevin: Look, I know you've been through a tough time, ok? I know what it's like to be without someone you love. But don't take it out on Kelly and me because we're lucky enough to have a second chance.
David: Well, don't act so surprised, Kevin. Second chances are something that you Buchanan’s are in no short supply of.
Kevin: What can I say? You know, if you had a family of your own, maybe you'd know what it was like to have people to lean on.
David: Well, I guess you're right there. I guess I don't understand that because all I've ever had is a brother who hates me. How could you understand that? You never had a brother who you shared a room with who taught you how to ride a bike, how to shave, how to drive a car, and then that person turned on you and he tried to destroy your life. You know, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, not even a Buchanan.
Kevin: What's going on with you, Vickers?
David: What's going on with me? I guess I'm starting to see things for what they really are.
Cristian: Guard ! I need to talk to my lawyer!
Natalie: What do you think?
Cristian: Close your eyes. Don't -- don't look.
Cristian: Close your eyes.
Natalie: Oh. Who is this? Oh, my goodness, how beautiful. Oh -- is he ours?
Cristian: So you won't be the only redhead in the house.
Kelly: You know, it's just amazing how I feel. I have so much hope for the future. And it's all because of Spencer. If he hadn't found out about my condition, he never would have suggested that I have the procedure, I never would have had it done, and now, from what I understand, as soon as he gives the go-ahead, Kevin and I can start trying to have a baby. I mean, I've already started thinking about names. I know it's crazy, but --
Dorian: Honey, spare me the details, please. Bartender, another chardonnay, please. Where is he?
Kelly: Dorian, please don't be so negative. You've been like a mother to me. I'm so happy. I want to share that with you.
Dorian: Honey, you've got a very serious medical condition. I don't care how miraculous this surgery is that Spencer performed on you. I'm concerned about your life.
Kelly: Oh, come on. If we were talking about me having a baby with anyone other than Kevin, this would not be an issue.
Dorian: We're not. We are not talking hypotheticals here.
Kelly: Please, can't you just be happy for me?
Kelly: Just no?
Dorian: That's it, honey, because, you see, I don't believe in second chances. It's fantasy. It's magical thinking.
Kelly: So if David walked through the door right now and begged you to take him back, you'd just tell him to get lost?
Dorian: He already did, and I refused.
Kelly: Ok. I'm going to go. This has been really disappointing. But I guess what's so shocking is that I'm so surprised.
Viki: Dallas. It's so good to see you.
Dallas: Well, I guess I should have called first.
Viki: No, of course not. No, you're always welcome here. I'm very sorry. We've just had a very emotional scene with our daughter.
Dallas: I really didn't come here to talk about Jessica.
Clint: Well, you know, I wish you would have called.
Dallas: I -- I did call. Remember? You kept telling me not to come.
Clint: Well, here you are.
Dallas: I missed you. It's Christmas. And this brief little trip to Llanview has suddenly turned into weeks.
Clint: Honey, I explained all of that to you. We're trying to get Jessica through this crisis.
Dallas: I know that in my head, and I am not trying to be unreasonable, but I'm thousands of miles away, living our life by myself. Now, I know that a crisis has a way of bringing people close together. And from what I just saw when I walked in just now --
Viki: I'm going to give you some privacy, ok?
Dallas: No. That's all right, Viki. I think Clint and I could use a little cooling-off time right about now.
Clint: Oh, yeah. I couldn't agree with that more.
Viki: Clint? Clint! Walking out isn't going to solve anything.
Dallas: Sure is easy, though.
Clint: Look, I don't have an answer for either one of you. Not that you'd listen, if I did. You know, Dallas, I told you that I was going to come home when I was done, but, look, here you are, and I asked you -- no, I begged you, Viki, not to bring out Niki Smith, but you did anyway. So why do you bother talking to me in the first place?
Viki: Clint, please --
Clint: No, I can't take it anymore. Now, look, Dallas, I've got my hands full here, and the last thing I need is for you to come waltzing in here with all these accusations. Women.
Dallas: Well, Viki, you care to share your thoughts on the situation?
Tess: Ok, where's your phone?
Antonio: First, there's something I want you to see.
Tess: I don't want to see anything, Antonio. You promised me the second we walked into this apartment I would call Nash. Where's your phone?
Antonio: In a minute. Just take a look at what we came here for.
Tess: We had a deal, Antonio. No phone, I walk.
Antonio: That baby that you're carrying, I want to raise that child with Jessica, even if the baby's not mine.
Tess: What the hell did you just say to me?
Nash: Tess? Great news! Just talked to some of the guys in the field. They said it's been a perfect growing season, should be an amazing crop. Honey, I'm home.
Nash: You look -- you look -- how do you do it? Every time I see you, you just look more beautiful.
Tess: I also made you dinner.
Tess: Yeah. There's a salad in the fridge. There are some steaks on the fire pit out back, and look, I didn't even burn down the cottage. But don't get used to it, buddy.
Nash: Oh, it's too late. Whew. I already am.
Tess: Yeah, me, too. I love you.
Kevin: Hey, John. What's the story with you and my sister?
John: You'd have to ask her.
Kevin: I'm asking you.
John: I wish I could tell you.
Kevin: Well, I know what went on with the whole Cristian thing.
John: Well, if you're bringing it up because you want a piece of me, you better get in line.
Kevin: Oh, no, I probably would have done the same thing. So listen, as far as you and my sister go, you know, if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. I'm a firm believer in that.
John: For some strange reason, that doesn't make me feel any better. See you around.
Kelly: Hey, babe.
Kelly: Oh, God.
Kevin: Uh-oh. What's wrong?
Kelly: Oh, I just came from seeing Dorian.
Kevin: Oh, what a coincidence. I just went a few rounds with her ex.
Kelly: Really? About what?
Kevin: Well, he went off on me because I'm happy.
Kelly: Huh. What a coincidence. That's exactly why she was upset with me.
Bartender: There you go, Ms. Lord.
Dorian: Thank you, Brit.
Bartender: My pleasure.
Clint: Ahem. Dorian.
Clint: Can I get a Bourbon, the good stuff, please? And make it a double.
Dorian: Cowboy boots and a double Bourbon. Ah, you're treacherously close to being a stereotype.
Clint: Well, chardonnay lady, you're not one to talk. That's a cliché.
Dorian: Pardon me. Touché. So, I understand that we are about to become in-laws by marriage yet again. Yeah.
Clint: The translation is?
Dorian: Well, Kevin has asked Kelly to marry him. Yeah. Kelly says they're madly in love. I think the operative word here is "madly."
Clint: We're going to be --
Dorian: What are you laughing about? Oh. Bartender, I'm buying this man his next round.
Viki: Dallas, I'm very, very sorry that Clint's trip has, you know, become so much longer than you thought it was going to be. I know that you two have a life together in London, and I know that it's very important to him.
Dallas: Is that what he's told you?
Viki: Honestly, we haven't had any time to talk about anything.
Dallas: Yeah. No, I didn't think so.
Viki: I don't know that I can be any clearer about this. The only reason that Clint is still here is because of the children, ok? We never meant to take him away from you, honestly. You know, he stayed because of Jessica and Natalie and nothing else.
Tess: So now you want to get your hands on this baby?
Antonio: I want that baby, yes. Look, we might not know who the father is, but we both know there's only one mother. It's not going to be long till that little boy or that little girl is here. And it's going to need a lot of love from both the mother and the father, and I would like to be that father.
Tess: You've got a lot of nerve.
Antonio: You know, I have a little girl of my own. I know what it's like when that little person looks up at you into your eyes and trusts that you're going to take care of them.
Tess: Shut up.
Antonio: It's -- it's an incredible feeling, that you feel lucky and responsible all at the same time.
Tess: Stop it, stop it!
Antonio: This is not about you, Tess. It's for the baby.
Antonio: Oh, thank goodness.
Nash: I love you. You're my whole world
Dorian: You're crying. No. I'll start to cry. People cry.
Clint: Thank you for the laugh. I needed it. The last, well, few hours, they couldn't have been worse.
Dorian: I don't even know why it's funny.
Clint: I'll tell you why. Either you go stark-raving mad or you laugh in the face of tragedy.
Dorian: Tragedy? Oh, my goodness. This is beyond tragedy. This is disaster.
Clint: A disa--
Dorian: No, no --
Clint: Disaster? I'll drink to that.
Dorian: All right, reluctantly.
David: Could I join the party?
Clint: Well, yeah, whatever you guys have to say to each other, you can say it in private. I think I'm going to just call it a day.
Dorian: No, no, no, no. Clint, please, my pleasure.
Clint: Ah, thank you. And good luck.
Dorian: Yeah. Good night.
Clint: Good night.
Dorian: What do you want?
David: Were you and Clint Buchanan on a date?
Dorian: If we were on a date, may I ask what business it would be of yours?
David: Were you or not?
Dorian: You know, I could do a lot worse than Clint Buchanan, and I have, in the past.
David: His whole family is your sworn enemy. You do everything you can to make sure that your girls stay out of relationships with that bunch.
Dorian: Clint is quite the catch. He's handsome, he's rich, and he's honest. It certainly could not end any worse than my last relationship, could it? Hmm?
Dallas: I didn't like what I saw when I walked in here -- you in Clint's arms, and after having not seen him for so many weeks, well, maybe I overreacted a little bit. I --
Viki: Dallas, you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Clint loves you.
Dallas: He wouldn't cheat on me. I know that. And I think I know you, too.
Viki: Is there anything I can do to help?
Dallas: Hmm. Well, if I could think of something, I --
Viki: You're welcome to stay here, if you'd like.
Dallas: No. I have a room at The Palace. And besides, it wouldn't really be appropriate, seeing as how what your family's been going through.
Viki: Yeah, I guess you're right. Clint's liable to be a while, I guess.
Dallas: Yeah. When he gets angry, he likes to walk it off, I know. Would you tell him where I'm staying, please?
Viki: Oh, of course.
Dallas: And, Viki, I am sorry to know what's happening with Jessica.
Jessica: What are we going to do, Antonio? How are we going to do right by this baby?
Antonio: Shh --
Jessica: No, we need to talk about this. Nash isn't just going to let go of Tess. We need to find some way to make peace with him.
Antonio: Nash is gone, ok? We're alone. It's just us and the baby.
[Knock on door]
Man: Mr. Brennan?
Man: Mr. Brennan, you in there? Hello? Oh, boy. Mr. Brennan? Mr. Brennan, can you hear me?
Man: Hello? Hello? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, look, send an ambulance, quick.
John: Hey, man, you didn't happen to come across a set of keys? Thanks. Kind of out of it today.
Man: No problem.
Natalie: I love you, Cristian. I love you so much.
Cristian: I've never loved anyone but you.
Guard: Sorry, I can't get a hold of your lawyer. Holidays, you know? Everything slows way down. Look, if the judge hasn't heard the case by now, you'll probably be spending Christmas morning right where you are. Tough break.
Cristian: No. I won't do it. I'm not going to give up on us, Natalie. I'm not going to give up on you.
On the next "One Life to Live" --
Blair: Well, someone wanted her dead, but who?
Dorian: You blackmailed him into leaving me at the altar. Is that true?
John: I know I said I would stay away, but I want you to know, if you need me, I'm there for you.
Evangeline: What could you possibly do or say to get her to forgive you?
