Officer: We've got units covering the bus station, train station, and the airport.
Bo: Good. Carry on.
Paige: Anything I can do to help?
Bo: How would you like to be commissioner of police for the night?
Paige: Give me a badge and a gun and I'm there.
Bo: Oh. Come on in.
Officer: You should consider manning armed and dangerous. Remember, this guy didn't think twice about murdering a pregnant woman.
Blair: Starr, sweetie, what are you doing up?
Starr: I couldn't sleep.
Blair: Why not?
Starr: Why do you think, mom? You shipped me and Jack off to some babysitter's house for the night, and then you call her up and tell her to rush us back over here. And then I hear Bo Buchanan talking to you in the living room in the middle of the night. I just -- I'm not stupid, mom. I --
Blair: We can talk about this later, all right?
Starr: Mom, look, I just want to know where dad is. Just tell me and I can go to sleep. Mom? Where's dad?
Clint: You all right, Viki?
Viki: Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. I mean, Antonio and Jessica should be here by now.
Clint: Antonio is not going to let anything happen to Jessie. You know, don't you? They probably took the long way home. They haven't spent a lot of time alone together.
Viki: No. No. I -- I just have this feeling that something's happened.
Todd: I got nothing bleeding, nothing broken.
Todd: Jessica? Jessica! Jessica!
Kevin: Treat the story as if it's your own sister. Do you understand what I'm talking about? All right, that's it. Thanks.
Kelly: Hey, where have you been? I got to tell you what happened at Dorian's bachelorette party.
Kelly: Well, it turns out that Blair's ex-nanny, Ginger, is Margaret Cochran's niece.
Kevin: You're joking.
Kelly: Yeah, and there's more. She told Blair that Margaret's pregnant in front of everyone.
Kevin: Oh. How did Blair handle that?
Kelly: She flipped out. She almost ripped the girl's head off. What happened to you?
Kevin: Oh. Jessica's in the hospital.
Kelly: Oh, my God, what happened? Is she hurt?
Kevin: No, no. Physically she's ok, but mentally -- you're not going to believe this -- she has what my mother had. You know, D.I.D.?
Kelly: Wow, Kevin, I -- I don't know what to say about this.
Kevin: Well, I just -- I don't even want to talk about it anymore. I just want this night to be over, you know?
Man: Hey, hey, Mr. Buchanan, I thought that was you. I've got the perfect lead for tomorrow's front-page story . My source says they've ID'd the body from the lake -- Margaret Cochran. That's not all. They say the main suspect is Todd Manning.
Blair: Your -- your dad had to go out, Starr.
Starr: Mom, nothing's open at this time --
Blair: Look, why don't you just trust me, all right?
Starr: You don't trust me. Yeah, sure, I'm trustworthy when you need me to baby-sit Jack, but then when it comes to, like, me asking you where dad went --
Blair: Sweetie, I'm sorry. I am sorry, I just can't deal with it right now. Please just go upstairs, and we'll talk in the morning, all right?
Starr: Mom --
Blair: Starr --
Starr: What's wrong? I've never seen you -- I mean, come on, what's wrong? Something's upsetting you. I mean, you're not afraid of Margaret anymore, but yet Matthew's dad is over here asking me and you questions. And dad's nowhere, and I haven't seen you this upset since you thought that dad was leaving us.
Jack: Why is everybody down here?
Todd: Jess! Jess!
Todd: I'm so sorry.
Clint: Oh, yeah, her high school graduation. Jessie was so happy that day.
Viki: Was she?
Clint: Yeah, this girl couldn't wait to get to college.
Viki: Oh, Clint. Where was Tess that day?
Clint: Viki --
Viki: No, honestly. I mean, she was obviously buried in her subconscious somewhere, protecting her from -- oh, my God -- whatever it was that happened to her, which must've happened well before then.
Clint: Do you think that when Allison Perkins had her, something happened? Or with Mitch Laurence right after she was born?
Viki: No, I don't. She was an infant. No. No, something happened to her here, with us, in this house.
Clint: Viki, you know, it's not going to do us any good if we allow our imaginations just to run wild.
Viki: I know, I know. They should be here by now, ok? It doesn't take that long to get from the hospital to here! I don't care if they took the long way.
Viki: Oh, thank God.
Clint: She probably forgot her keys.
Viki: Oh, Lord. Jess--
Paige: This manhunt seems to be getting crazier by the minute.
Bo: Yeah. You know, it's strange. I've never been a fan of Todd Manning's. But when -- when we ID'd Margaret's body, his name shot right to the top of the suspect list.
Paige: And now you're having your doubts?
Bo: I was over at Blair's a while ago, and I could see what this whole thing is doing to her. She's all alone. And not long ago, Todd and I were in the junkyard one night and we thought that Blair was trapped in this car that had been crushed. So, you know, this whole -- the case just makes me sick.
Spencer: Is this a bad time?
Bo: Well, there's never a good time around here. What can I do for you, Dr. Truman?
Spencer: Oh, I just had some thoughts I wanted to share about Nora's case. You know, it's nothing urgent, just some things to consider for when she wakes up. But obviously this is a bad time, huh? I heard you've got some leads on the floater case. All right, if you need anything down at the hospital, let me know, all right?
Paige: I've got it under control.
Spencer: Nonetheless, my private number is on the back of my card. So if you do need anything down there, don't hesitate to call, all right, Bo?
Bo: Thank you.
Spencer: Hey, Kev. No hard feelings about that dead racehorse, huh?
Kevin: What's he doing here?
Bo: Believe it or not, he was offering his help.
Blair: Come here, Jack. Listen, everything's all right, ok? Everything's fine. I -- mommy's just having a bad night. Ok?
Jack: Where's daddy?
Blair: Um -- dad -- he went out to help Commissioner Buchanan, but he's going to be back any minute. All right? So I think you and Starr need to head up to bed so in the morning when we all wake up and daddy's here, we can have your favorite -- chocolate chip pancakes. Mmm. And then you'll go to school, and after school we'll get all dressed up and go to aunt Dorian's wedding, ok?
Jack: Aren't you going to answer it?
Blair: Yeah. Yeah, I am.
Starr: Jack. You know she's lying to us, right?
Kelly: Hey, hi. I came as soon as I heard. Are you? Oh, come here. I'm so sorry.
Viki: Nash. I was under the assumption you were leaving this town.
Nash: I was. But then I found this letter. Ma'am, I am not leaving until I speak with the woman who wrote that letter.
Viki: Look, I can understand why you want to talk to Tess, but, frankly, I'm hoping she never resurfaces again. And Jessica's beginning her therapy tomorrow morning, so --
Nash: I understand that. I overheard what the doctor had to say, I listened to Tess, but I also know that nobody here cares about what happens to Tess.
Viki: That's not true.
Nash: You just said so yourself.
Viki: No, we want them integrated. We want what is best for our daughter.
Nash: Your daughter, Jessica. Because with all due respect, ma'am, you don't know Tess. When Tess walks into a room, everyone turns to look at her. That's the kind of woman she is, but she never lets anyone close enough to her to hurt her. She just keeps moving, moving, all the time moving -- until she met me. All right? When someone like that lets you into her life -- she let me into her life.
Clint: I wish there was something that we could do to make this easier for you. But Jessica and her treatment -- that comes first.
Nash: I understand that. I do. But I just can't help feeling that if Tess is going to be a part of Jessica, that just maybe the love that we shared will become a part of Jessica, as well.
Clint: You know, maybe a few minutes with Mr. Brennan here might not be a bad idea.
Nash: I appreciate that.
Clint: Uh, but you got to make it short because you shouldn't be here when Jessica and Antonio get here, all right? Uh, I'm sorry. This is simply not my invitation to offer.
Viki: Oh, of course it is. Come in, please.
Nash: Thank you.
Kelly: Look, after everything that's happened, Todd is not going to leave his family. Wherever he is, he's going to come home.
Blair: How did you find out?
Kelly: It got back to a reporter at “The Banner."
Blair: Oh, it's in the press now? How am I going to break it to the kids?
Kelly: You just have to believe this is all going to work out, ok?
Todd: Jess? Jess? Jess, can you hear me? Jess, jess, wake up, honey. Wake up.
Viki: Oh, that might be Jessie. Excuse me.
Clint: All right.
Nash: I know that smile. I used to love trying to come up with ways to make Tess smile like that. How can at not be her smile?
Clint: It is hers, just as much as it is Jessica's.
Nash: Right, yeah -- everything you said at the hospital. I know. It's hard to get my head around, you know. "Hey, the woman who's going to be the love of your life -- she's only kind of real." It -- you know what I mean?
Clint: Actually, I do. You know, if my little girl makes it through this -- and she will -- she's going to be the best of Jessica and Tess.
Nash: And then what?
Clint: And then, who knows? Her relationship with everybody could change, including, you know, with Viki and me. But she will be healthy and whole.
Nash: Would you find it hard if the best part of the woman you love doesn't include you? It's --
Clint: Yeah, I would. But it is a possibility, so we have to prepare for it.
Nash: Right. Thank you.
Clint: What for?
Nash: You have been honest with me. You've helped me understand this. I appreciate that.
Viki: Clint? It's Dallas. She's calling from London.
Clint: Oh. Excuse me. Hello, darling.
Nash: I'm sorry if this is uncomfortable for you, ma'am.
Viki: No, no, it's fine. Actually, there are a couple of questions I'd like to ask you, about Tess.
Todd: Come on, wake up. Wake up now. Come on, Jess. Jess?
Viki: Please sit down.
Nash: Thank you.
Nash: What would you like to know?
Viki: How did you and Tess meet?
Nash: She stole my car.
Viki: She told me that. Why did she steal your car?
Nash: She -- she invited me to buy her lunch at a fine restaurant in New York. I passed.
Tess: Are you serious? You're turning me down?
Nash: Flat. So she punished me for my lack of generosity.
Viki: By stealing your car.
Nash: Yeah. She didn't -- didn't succeed, though. I stopped her, I took back my car, I took off. I thought I'd never see her again, but she -- she thumbed a ride and followed me to a party in the Hamptons.
Viki: She sounds reckless.
Nash: Reckless, yes. Reckless, dangerous, obnoxious, fearless. I remember thinking she was the most impressive woman I'd ever met. She was just too good to be -- well, I should've listened to my gut on that one, shouldn't I?
Viki: You are as much a victim in all of this as Tess is.
Nash: I don't feel that way. It's not like we talked about the future -- not much, anyway. She -- she always was about the moment. That's Tess.
Tess: I want to have fun. You like to have fun, right? Oh, my God! Whoo!
Nash: Oops. I cherish every moment I spent with her.
Viki: Didn't she disappear at times?
Nash: We worked through that. I accepted that she was with me when she wanted to be, and soon she wanted to be with me all the time. As infuriating as she was, I -- I would give up all of my dreams to have just one more moment with her.
Viki: I have one more question for you, please.
Viki: Did Tess ever say anything at all about her life, her family, or anything that would give us some indication as to what happened to her?
Kevin: So mom and dad are with Jessica.
Paige: Well, that's one less thing you have to worry about tonight.
Kevin: Now, listen, Bo, if you need any help from the paper or B.E., just let me know, all right?
Bo: Ok. Thanks, Kev, but I don't think there's anything anybody can do right now.
Kevin: Well, maybe not for Nora or Jessica, but at least manning can finally be put behind bars once and for all.
Bo: When we find him.
Kevin: Poor Blair. First she finds out that Margaret's carrying Todd's baby, then she finds out he murdered both of them.
Bo: How did you know that Margaret was carrying Todd's baby?
Kevin: What? Uh -- oh, Kelly said that Ginger Foley came by the bachelorette party and announced it to everyone. I just assumed it was true.
Kevin: Excuse me. Yeah? Oh, hey, hey, hey, hey, slow down, ok? I can't understand you. Just -- Kel? At -- at Blair's? Ok. All right. Ok, listen, Rodi's is halfway between you and me. Just -- let's meet there. Listen, right, just get there as fast as you can. I'm leaving right now, all right? Ok.
Paige: What's wrong?
Kevin: Oh, she's just upset. You know, I think the idea of Todd killing his own unborn child just hit a little too close to home and she's freaking out.
Paige: Then go.
Kevin: Oh, I -- yeah.
Bo: Yeah, yeah, Kev, I'll call you if there's an update.
Kevin: All right, thanks.
Paige: Are you ok? Is there something I can do to -- maybe I should just go.
Bo: What? No, no, no. The last thing I want you to do is leave. No, don't go out there. There's nothing but chaos out there.
Paige: What were you thinking just now?
Bo: You know, I figured that there must be other people that knew about Margaret and Todd. But now I think there's more than we even imagined.
Blair: Please, come in.
Spencer: I just -- I'm sorry to stop by so late. You know, I heard that Todd was a suspect in Margaret Cochran's death, so --
Blair: What, is -- is there a billboard out there? I mean, Todd and I are trying to hold our family together, but the Llanview grapevine just won't let us do it.
Kelly: Yeah, well, I don't see Todd holding anything together.
Spencer: You know, I don't know Todd all that well, but he's obviously -- he cares very, very much about his family. I certainly don't think he would just abandon them.
Kelly's voice: You can't keep this secret forever.
Todd: Just have to find Margaret and set her straight.
Kelly: Yeah, I -- um -- I'm sorry, I have to go. I'm sorry --
Kelly: I didn't mean to say that.
Kelly: We're all on edge.
Blair: Kelly -- what is wrong with her? One minute she's defending Todd, the next she's -- I swear, nothing is making sense tonight.
Spencer: I don't want to jump to any conclusions. Really, we don't know for sure that Todd's running from the police. I know things look bad for him. He knows that. He's probably just trying to set things right.
Blair: You believe that?
Spencer: No man in his right mind would love you, Blair, or those beautiful children. Todd's no fool.
Blair: You knew, didn't you?
Spencer: What? Knew what?
Blair: The hospital. You knew that Margaret stabbed Todd, that it wasn't an accident. Hey, you guys, what are you doing back down here?
Starr: I heard someone come in.
Jack: Dr. Spencer.
Spencer: Oh, how are you doing? It's good to see you. What are you doing down here? You're supposed to be asleep. Shouldn't you be upstairs sleeping?
Jack: Daddy's not home.
Spencer: Yeah, I know.
Todd: Jess? Jess?
[Distorted] You'll be ok . Paramedics are on their way. I wish I could stay, but I can't.
Todd: [Normal voice] Sorry, Jess.
Jessica: Antonio? Oh, my God, Antonio, can you hear me? Antonio? The baby. Oh, my God, not again. I can't lose my baby.
Spencer: Now, you know I enjoy seeing you, don't you, Jack? What do you think is going to happen if your daddy comes home and finds out that you're up this late on a school night, huh?
Spencer: That's right.
Blair: Yeah. You know who's going to be in trouble. And, Dr. Spencer, you don't want that, do you? Ok.
Spencer: All right, so, listen, why don't you go upstairs, be a good boy, and go back to sleep, ok? Can you do that for me? All right. I'll see you.
Starr: I'll make sure that he stays up there this time. Come on.
Blair: Thank you, Starr.
Blair: You didn't answer my question. You knew that Margaret stabbed Todd, right?
Spencer: You know, he confided in me, Blair. I was his doctor. I was under oath to keep it confidential. I mean, if I'd known it was going to turn out this way --
Blair: You know what? It's ok. You don't have to explain it. I understand why you did it. I -- you know, I -- I need to be alone right now. I hope you don't mind.
Spencer: I'm not so sure that's a good idea. You're exhausted, you're on edge.
Blair: I know, yeah. And I appreciate just knowing that I can count on you. I really, really do. It's been a really long night, and I have a lot to process, you know? And I want to do that. I want to think about everything before Todd gets back. So if you don't mind --
Spencer: No, it's ok, I understand.
Spencer: I'll -- I'll get in touch with you tomorrow, ok?
Spencer: Hopefully by then, this whole misunderstanding will be worked out.
Kevin: Hey. How long you been here?
Kelly: Not long. I had to get out of Blair's before I said something that I might regret. Where have you been?
Kevin: With Bo. Todd's on the run again, isn't he?
Kelly: Yeah, I guess so. He's not with Blair, and no one knows where he is. I mean, this is a nightmare. Blair wants so badly to believe that he's innocent.
Kevin: It's so typical. Listen, it's going to be all right.
Kelly: Stop saying that. I've been saying that all night long. It means nothing.
Kevin: Did something happen at Blair's?
Kelly: I tried. I tried so hard to be there for Blair and for the kids. I even tried to believe that Todd might be innocent for once, but we both know that that's not true. We know that Margaret was pregnant, we know that there were two bodies found in the lake, and we know that one of them was Margaret.
Kevin: Ok, just take a breath, ok? We don't --
Kelly: No, this is a nightmare. I mean, there I was, trying to reassure Blair and the kids, and the only thing I could think about was how Todd told us that he was going to set Margaret straight. He meant that he was going to murder her and his son.
Kevin: No, we did not know that's what he meant.
Kelly: That's what he meant. That's what he meant. And now they're both dead, and we're responsible.
Kevin: We're not responsible for anything!
Kelly: Yes, we are. We let this happen. We knew, and we let it happen! How could we do this? How -- how could we let this happen?
Nash: She didn't seem to feel that the Buchanan family was entirely in her corner. She didn't say much, but she did mention a twin.
Nash: No. Jessica. She said that Jessica killed herself.
Viki: Well, I suppose in a way that's true.
Nash: I'm sorry.
Viki: No, please don't be sorry. I thank you for telling me this because I need to know these things if I'm going to be able to help her. You know, after reading the letter that Tess left you, I realized that you are the only person who she feels is in her corner. And you obviously have quite a connection. I saw that at the docks.
Nash: Ma'am, you need me. If Tess gets a chance, she'll follow me. I think it's best that I stay right here.
Viki: Well, it's very generous of you to offer to stay and help, given what you have to lose.
Nash: From what I understand, what's best for Jessica is also what's best for Tess. That's all I care about. Besides, I think after all of this, I can -- I can handle just about anything.
Viki: Yeah, well, I have a feeling when we find out what triggered Jessica's D.I.D., we're all going to be having to deal with things that we were not expecting.
Clint: Well, Jessica's not doing very well at all, honey, so I don't know how long they're going to need me to stay, but I'll keep you posted. I will, indeed, every day. I love you, too, Dallas.
Viki: I'm going to go get Jessie's room ready. Would you mind --
Clint: Yeah, don't worry. I'll make sure Nash is gone before Jessie gets home.
Nash: Everyone looks so happy.
Clint: That's because this house is full of love. It still is.
Nash: After everything we've been through, I -- we never took any pictures.
Clint: Nash, I want you to have this. But before you take it, I'm going to tell you something. I'm giving you this because it's obvious how much you love my daughter and how much you miss her. But don't take this gesture as any more than that.
Nash: I understand. Thank you. Sir, um -- you have been nothing but honest and straightforward with me. I'd like to be honest and straightforward with you. I will never maliciously take your daughter away from you. But I'm not giving up either. Whatever happens to her, whoever she ends up being, I'm not going to just walk away from the woman I love and the child that may be mine. I'm just not like that. I'm sorry.
Clint: I understand, son. Neither would I.
Viki: Clint, they're not back yet. I know something's happened. I'm just going to call Bo, ok?
Clint: All right, all right.
Viki: Oh. Hello?
Jessica: Mom, we're fine. I just don't want you to be upset.
Viki: What happened?
Jessica: Antonio and I were in a car accident, but like I said before, we're fine.
Viki: Um, what about the baby
Jessica: They said that the baby's fine. They just want to take me to the hospital and do an ultrasound to be sure.
Viki: We'll be right there. Yeah, bye.
Paramedic: Miss? You really shouldn't be walking around.
Antonio: How's the baby?
Jessica: They said that it should be fine. I hope it's fine.
Officer: Miss Buchanan, can you tell me how you and Mr. Vega managed to get out of the car?
Jessica: Uh, there was a man.
Officer: Can you describe him?
Jessica: He had dark hair and a goatee. I didn't recognize him, but from the way he was talking to me, he seemed to know me.
Todd: Damn it. Damn it.
Kevin: Ok, look, you got to stop thinking like this. Todd did this, ok? He murdered Margaret and his son. We didn't do anything wrong.
Kelly: We knew.
Kevin: We didn't know he would actually do it.
Kelly: How am I going to look Blair in the eye? How am I going to hold her hand and tell her that everything's going to be ok when in my heart I know that what Todd did is despicable? No matter what, Margaret was carrying his child and now they're both dead.
Kevin: Look, we're going to get through this, all right?
Kelly: How are we going to get through it? How? Our families are falling apart. Both of our families are falling apart.
Kevin: Because we're Buchanan’s and Cramer’s, all right? And if we can survive each other, then we can survive this, if only because we have to. All right?
Kelly: I wish I was so sure.
Kevin: Come on, things are going to get better. They have to.
Bo: We've got teams canvassing this eastern quadrant. I want your teams to check out the west side, ok?
Bo: Excuse me. Buchanan. Yeah, Davis, check with the highway patrol, see if they've seen any suspicious vehicles.
Singer: Stone blind alibi I will eat the lie find the word could break any spell that binds you prayers like ammonites curl beneath the light how I long to bite any hand that feeds you more where'd it all go wrong? My Friday night enfant where'd it all go wrong? My Friday night enfant hey, hey hey, hey all night buzz on a line it's only blood on the rime wrecks my head every time it leads me on where'd it all go wrong? My Friday night enfant
>> On the next "One Life to Live" --
Dorian: Well, I'm here to help you. I know where Todd is.
Natalie: I love you, John. You don't have to say anything, but I do.
Carlo: I'm offering you two options. All roads come to the same end.
