Dorian: Hola! [Speaks French]
David: That was at least three different languages.
Woman: Dorian, darling.
Dorian: Oh, Whitney. Whitney Lachlan, I would like to introduce you to --
Dorian: My niece Kelly Cramer, and my fiancÚ, David Vickers.
David: Charmed, charmed.
Whitney: Now, before we get started, I just want to say that I want you to think of me as someone who will make all of your dreams come true.
David: Make all of our dreams come true? Could you see to it that that thing on my foot doesn't grow back again?
Whitney: Let's start with lighting, shall we?
David: Lighting? Did you hear that? Sounds like we might have a floor show. Ahem.
Whitney: I did a wedding in --
David: We may have to send out a search party to find her sense of humor.
Kelly: You know how important this is to Dorian. I would suggest sitting back and shutting up.
David: This has got to stop.
Roxy: Where's my daughter? Somebody damn better tell me where my kid is!
Rex: I tried to talk to her.
Roxy: Trying is not going to cut it. I want an answer, and I want it right here and right now!
Bo: I will do my best to answer all your questions, ok, Roxy?
Roxy: All right, great, great. Question number one -- why is a mother the last one to know that her baby is missing? Did you know about this? Did you know that Natty was kidnapped?
Tess: What? Why did you just conk out on me, you $500,000 worthless piece of --
Man: Well, well, well. What do we have here? Problems?
Tess: Um, what did you do?
Man: What did I do? You think this baby doesn't come with all the latest technology?
Tess: An anti-theft device?
Man: "Theft" being the operative word, yeah. Get out before I call the cops.
Tess: But --
Man: "But" -- but you already ruined my lunch date with your little joy ride here. Now get out before you make me -- why am I explaining myself to you? Get out. Out.
Man: Need a ride?
Tess: Sure do.
Tess: Follow that car.
Man: You got it, sweetheart.
Adriana: Hey! There you are. I missed you.
Duke: I was only gone a couple hours.
Adriana: I know, but it felt like forever. I got kind of used to being with you day and night.
Duke: Yeah, me, too.
Adriana: So, did you have it out with Asa?
Duke: Yeah, we talked. No, actually, he talked and talked and talked and talked and --
Adriana: Duke, what did he say?
Duke: Well, to start, the Cramer girl that he was talking about killing was Blair, not you.
Duke: The whole thing was just some big decoy story to get Carlo Hesser back to Llanview. Yeah. I know my great-grandfather may not be the biggest fan of the Cramer women --
Adriana: Yeah, fan? He hates us.
Duke: But he has no intention of hurting any of you.
Adriana: Oh, well, that's comforting. Did you believe him?
Duke: Yeah, I do. Well, that part, anyway. The other thing is I talked to my dad. I don't have all the details yet, but apparently, Natalie's been kidnapped.
Duke: Yeah. They think it was "The Killing Club" murderer.
Adriana: Oh, my God. Duke, that's awful. And your poor grandmother.
Duke: Yeah, I know, I know. My dad said it was like some scene out of a horror movie. And John Mc Bain nearly died trying to save Natalie and Evangeline Williamson.
John: You ok? I guess they released you from the hospital, so you must be.
Evangeline: I'm fine.
John: You look good.
Evangeline: Your hand is still bandaged.
John: I don't even feel it anymore.
Evangeline: You have a high threshold for pain. But I knew that. Any word on Natalie?
Evangeline: You must be worried sick.
John: I am.
Evangeline: And feeling profound regret.
John: I regret that Natalie's in danger, and I regret there's a killer out there that we still haven't caught.
Evangeline: That's not what I meant. Why don't you admit it? If one of us had to be taken that night, you wish it had been me.
Whitney: What do you think of the --
Spencer: Hello, everyone.
Dorian: Oh, well, hello, Spencer. Such a pleasure to see you.
Spencer: It's nice to see you, too, Dorian.
David: Spencer, do you know about all of the other wonderful restaurants in Llanview? Or San Francisco? Maybe Gatar?
Spencer: Nice to see you haven't lost your sense of humor, David.
Dorian: Dr. Spencer Truman, I would like to introduce you to Whitney Lachlan, our wedding planner. Spencer is David's brother.
Whitney: Oh, will you be the best man?
Spencer: Would you be the same Whitney Lachlan who put on that fantastic wedding reception in D.C. last year?
Whitney: For the son of the ambassador to Thailand, yes. But how would you know about that?
Spencer: Oh, I was there. I was seated at the surgeon general's table. He called me after the tsunami to help with the relief effort. It was my job to coordinate the various volunteers with certain hospitals in the region and so forth. I was very honored that he called.
David: Is there anything that you haven't done, seen, tasted, or rescued?
Kelly: You know what, Spencer? I'm beginning to feel kind of like a fifth wheel. Why don't we head over to the bar and let them deal with all this wedding stuff?
David: No, Kelly, your -- your input is important.
Whitney: Ticktock, ticktock. If we're going to have a wedding in six weeks, time is our enemy.
David: Time isn't our only enemy.
Whitney: Could you please focus? We have floral arrangements to discuss. Now, are we petals-in-the-aisle people?
David: Is that code for something?
Kelly: So, what brings you by? The french fries or the martinis?
Spencer: The company. I came to see you, Kelly.
Man: I'm on the list.
Second man: Uh, yeah.
First man: Where should I park this?
Second man: Yeah, you can park right over there, sir.
First man: Great. Thank you.
Tess: Thanks for the ride, killer.
Man: You got it, sweetheart.
Tess: This is going to be worth it. This guy's a zillionaire and gorgeous to boot.
Man: Hey, thanks for the loan, Fred. Great set of wheels.
Fred: That's what my accountant says.
Fred: So did you have any trouble getting here?
Man: Nothing I couldn't handle.
Man: Thank you.
Adriana: Really? Ok, thanks, I will. You, too. Bye.
Duke: So, your mom wasn't at home?
Adriana: She's at Capricorn meeting with a wedding planner.
Duke: Really? So David must've convinced her to set a date, then, I take it?
Adriana: It sounds that way. I think I'm going to over and surprise her. You want to come?
Duke: You know, I should probably wait here for my dad. But I'll come by later and pick you up.
Adriana: Great. I'm so happy we're home. And I hope they find Natalie and that she's ok.
Duke: Yeah, me, too.
Adriana: I'll see you later.
Duke: All right.
Adriana: You want a better kiss than that?
Duke: What do you think?
Kevin: Duke! Hey!
Kevin: Come here. I'm so glad you're back -- oh -- both of you.
Duke: How's grandma?
Kevin: Well, she's -- you know, she's had a tough time. But her health is ok, considering.
Adriana: Well, thank god for that. I better go see my mom before she hears through the grapevine that we're back.
Duke: All right. I'll see you later.
Adriana: Bye. Your son took really good care of me, by the way.
Kevin: I'm sure he did. Man, I really needed some good news today, and I'll tell you what, you coming home is just about the best I could've gotten. Come on, let's --
Duke: Any word on Natalie?
Kevin: No, nothing.
Duke: Grandma's just been through so much.
Kevin: I'll be honest with you, Duke, I don't know how much more she can take.
Roxy: The woman of the year awards? Yeah, I was about five sheets to the wind. That's the night that Natty disappeared?
Rex: Right, we know that now.
Bo: But we didn't know for sure until the next morning.
Roxy: And you still didn't call me?
Viki: Roxanne, I'm so, so sorry you weren't told.
Roxy: You don't have to say you're sorry. It's not your job. It's your job and it's your job!
Bo: And there is no excuse.
Roxy: It just kind of slipped your mind because you don't think of me as Natty's mother, right? So I don't count, right, commish? Am I right?
Bo: Look, I understand you're upset, Roxanne. You feel like you've been left out of the loop.
Roxy: Baby, I was born out of the loop. But I'm just as much Natalie's mother as Viki is. I raised her from a pup, and I did the best I could, but -- and I feel like she's my daughter, too!
John: That's not true. If you want to talk about regret, let's talk about it.
Evangeline: Forget it. This is not what's important right now.
John: Yes, it is. It's important that you understand this. When I came busting in here and I saw the two of you tied up, I had a split second to assess the situation and make a move. It was never emotional. Natalie was unconscious, about to go into the fire. You were conscious and still fighting.
Evangeline: I told you I didn't blame you for that.
John: You're human. You can't help not. In your mind, I chose her. That's what you're thinking.
Evangeline: John, listen, I'm just --
John: No, please, let me finish, please. It's not the choice that's tearing me up inside. It's the fact that you were part of this in the first place, that just being associated with me put you in danger, and for that, I am eternally sorry.
Evangeline: I shouldn't have even come back here. This was a mistake.
John: Hey, hey. I'll walk you out.
Evangeline: No, really. You don't have to do that.
John: I know. But I'm going to anyway.
Man: Wow, nice club. Thanks for the invite, Fred. So, you pretty sure this Bruce guy can spare me a couple of minutes, all right?
Fred: You sure you want to take this route?
Man: You know my situation. I'm pretty sure I can handle him.
Fred: Ok. He's probably floating around here somewhere, so have fun.
Man: All right. Thanks again.
Tess: Hey. Remember me?
Man: Vaguely. What are you doing here?
Tess: Well, it's a party. And I love parties.
Man: You followed me here?
Tess: Well, why not? Seems like a good enough time. And I'm always looking for a good time.
Tess: You got the beach, the pool, an oxygen bar. What more could a girl ask for?
Man: You know, I don't know what game you're playing, but --
Tess: Oh, games? Games you want, huh? I know cricket, I know polo, strip poker.
Tess: But if it's a more one-on-one thing that you're looking for, then --
Man: Look, you got the wrong guy. I'm not into games. Now if you'll excuse me.
Dorian: Oh, my. Oh, so many to choose from. But that's half the fun, isn't it? David? If you can't focus on me and our wedding --
David: I'm focused. I'm very focused. Let's talk about something very important to both of us -- napkin color.
Dorian: Look, this -- this thing with your brother is really getting out of hand. If you're not going to tell me what the problem is between the two of you, then maybe Spencer will.
Spencer: These are recommendations for hospital fundraising based on your ideas and your efforts, and I just really didn't want to wait to show it to you.
Kelly: You couldn't wait for me to sign off on it.
Spencer: Well, of course. That's academic. Even though this was a team effort, it was your ideas that made it work. It's all right here in the proposal.
Kelly: Well, thank you for the credit. I'm not used to getting much attention for what I do -- my job.
Spencer: Well, maybe there's a chance that you've been surrounding yourself with the wrong people. Kevin, for instance?
Kelly: No, I'm not going to blame anyone for my career stalling. That's really all on me. You know, I let my personal life get in the way.
Spencer: I know you've been through a lot, Kelly, losing a child together.
Kelly: Um, yeah. Yeah, there were two babies, actually. One was not my biological child, but I loved him like he was.
Spencer: Well, I'm sure you're aware of medical advances in fertility treatment these days, you know. But if you should decide not to consider that, you could always adopt.
Kelly: I'm sorry. You seem to know an awful lot about my personal and medical history. How did you know I can't have children?
Spencer: Oh, my God. Kelly, I'm so sorry. Kevin told me.
Kevin: I know you were doing what you thought was right, but that was a dangerous game you played with Asa. You almost got yourself killed.
Duke: But we didn't, and now Asa's home. What was I supposed to do? I couldn't sit there and do nothing, dad. I mean, not after seeing Renee being dragged off like that.
Kevin: Well, I'm proud of you for doing what you believed in.
Duke: And, dad, you should've seen Adriana through it all, though. She was amazing.
Kevin: Oh, yeah? I saw how close you two were when I came in.
Duke: All I know is that it feels really good. Although, Dorian's reaction to the whole thing was -- well, that's why I told her I'd meet up with her later. I might need some defense.
Kevin: I'll tell you what, I'll give you a lift over to Capricorn, give you a little support.
Duke: It's good to be home.
Roxy: I know I wasn't the best mom on the planet.
Viki: Oh, Roxanne --
Roxy: I wasn't, but Natty and I worked real hard to get to a certain place. We counted on each other!
Viki: And you are very important to Natalie, you know. She really loves you.
Roxy: She loves you, too. She was so worried about you when you were in the hospital.
Viki: I know.
Roxy: So, I got to understand this. So, how is it that Evangeline was rescued and Natty wasn't?
Rex: Natty was in the most danger from the fire, so John went to her first.
Bo: And by the time he freed Evangeline, Natalie was gone.
Roxy: Did you know that? Did you know that Johnny went to her first?
Evangeline: John, go -- back to work or wherever you have to go. I will be fine.
John: You can't wander around town alone.
Evangeline: I'm hardly alone. You have a squad car shadowing me, don't you remember? I'm never out of their sight.
John: I know that I hurt you.
Evangeline: It's all been said.
John: No, it hasn't. I hate that I left you alone in that fire for even one second. I hate the decision I was forced to make. I destroyed my relationship with you because -- because --
John: Because it's all I ever wanted.
Evangeline: Prove it.
Evangeline: What was that?
Evangeline: Why did you do that? You still can't say what you feel.
John: Didn't that say something?
Evangeline: It doesn't say anything. It doesn't solve anything. It is not enough. This is why we broke up. This is why we're going to stay that way.
John: Don't you think I want to take away the pain I've caused you?
Evangeline: At least I'm alive to feel this pain. But Natalie? John, when I woke up in that basement and I saw Natalie, I thought that she was dead. I thought that they killed her.
John: What is the "they"? "They"?
Evangeline: I don't know. I don't know.
John: What is the "they"?
Evangeline: At one point -- at one point we were trying to escape from a high window. And I thought it was clear because I could hear footsteps above us in the house. But when Natalie stuck her head through, the killer was outside the window, waiting to cut us off. I'm sorry, I should've said something. It's just this whole thing -- it's a blur. It's a blur to me.
John: No, don't say you're sorry. That's good. Look, I got to go back to the station. You'll be ok? Listen, just be safe, all right?
John: Ok. I'll check in with you later.
David: You know I don't want you anywhere near Spencer, so please just drop it, ok?
Dorian: David, how can I drop it when you keep throwing your hostility towards him right in my face? It just makes me even more curious about him.
David: We have history, ok? Call it sibling rivalry. Call it bad blood. Call it anything you like. Just let it go, ok?
Dorian: From everything I've been able to learn about him, your brother is quite the marvel.
David: Wait a minute. You looked into my brother's background?
Dorian: Yes, of course I did.
David: After you promised me that you would give me some time?
Dorian: I don't recall making such a promise.
David: I do recall. You did. You made a promise.
Dorian: You're making too big a deal out of this. All I did was call in a few favors. And the reports that I got back were excellent. He's a brilliant physician, a remarkable researcher. He's got all those qualities that make for a splendid bedside manner. You put that together in a package, put a little bow on it, he's absolutely perfect for Kelly.
David: So that's why you did all this digging? To see if Spencer was Kelly worthy?
Dorian: I would do the same for Blair or Adriana.
Adriana: Did I hear my name?
Dorian: Oh, my darling! Hello! You know something? Between my trip to Paris and your trip, I have seen much too little of my beautiful baby girl.
Adriana: I know. I feel the same way.
Dorian: Oh, honey. So, what did the two of you do there?
Adriana: You know, the usual.
Dorian: Hmm. That's what I was afraid of.
Adriana: Mom --
David: Now that we have established that you two desperately missed one another, could you -- the one nearer me -- and I continue talking about what I expressly asked you not to do?
Dorian: I -- ahem -- have been finding out some information about David's brother.
Adriana: You have a brother?
Dorian: Oh, that's right, you don't know that. See the tall, good-looking man over there? Dr. Spencer Truman, David's brother.
Adriana: Hey, that was quick! Hi.
Kevin: Don't say it, Dorian. In fact, don't say anything. Just relax.
David: Yes, let's relax. Let's pick out some patterns and relax.
Spencer: Kevin and I were just having a discussion. It started to turn into a more serious conversation. Somehow some of your history came up. The baby -- it just came to light. But I don't think he said it to be malicious.
Kelly: Yeah, I'm sure you're right.
Spencer: You know, Kelly, the idea of you not being able to be a mother, have a child of your own? It's just -- it's really something that --
Dorian: Kelly, look who's back.
Kelly: I'm so glad to see you.
Adriana: Oh, you, too.
Kelly: Welcome back. You, too, Duke.
Duke: Hey, Kelly.
Dorian: Dr. Spencer Truman, I would like to introduce Duke Buchanan. And this beautiful, young woman is my daughter Adriana.
Adriana: Nice to meet you.
Spencer: Duke, it's a pleasure to meet you.
Duke: Same here, doctor.
Kelly: Excuse me for a second. David? Would you excuse us? I need to talk to Kevin.
David: Better than my brother.
Kevin: I had no idea you were here. Honestly, Duke was picking up Adriana. I thought they might need a little support with Dorian.
Kelly: Kevin, give me one good reason why I shouldn't kick you so hard that I'm not the only one standing here who can't have children.
Roxy: So Natty was the one that was saved first. Why is she the one that's missing?
Viki: Well, apparently it all happened very quickly, you know. When John went to rescue Evangeline, you know, while he was doing that --
Roxy: Natty was kidnapped?
Roxy: See, she was just getting everything together. She was just getting stronger, and she was just getting to do what she wanted to do.
Bo: Balsom, why don't you take Roxy home, ok? There's nothing she can really do here right now. Roxanne? I'll let you know the minute we have any news at all.
Viki: Look, if I hear anything at all, I'll let you know right away, ok? And, you know, if you just want to talk or something, call me.
Roxy: You're a standup broad. You always have been.
Rex: All right, let's go, huh?
Roxy: No, no, no, I can go home by myself. You know, I'm going to stay mad at you for another couple hours. And then if you call me, and if you're lucky enough, just lucky enough, I might talk to you.
Rex: I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Roxy: Yeah, you do that.
Rex: Thanks for talking her in off the ledge.
Viki: Oh, no, no.
Bo: Sorry we don't have any news yet, Viki.
Viki: No, no, I know that. I just stopped by, you know, sort of in case. You know, I just -- I need to keep busy. But you'll call me if there's any change, won't you?
Rex: You ok, Mrs. D? You feel all right?
Viki: No, I don't. I really need my daughter home.
Tess: Thanks, handsome.
Man: My pleasure. More than my pleasure.
Man: Well, hello there. I'm Bruce.
Tess: Well, Bruce, you win the prize. You're the first person at this party that had the guts to approach me.
Bruce: Well, it is my party. And I don't believe I know you.
Man: Excuse me. Have you seen Bruce?
Woman: He's up there.
Man: Oh, this should be good.
Tess: So, you want to know the whole truth and nothing but?
Bruce: It'd be nice.
Tess: Here goes. So, I was going to have lunch in the city. This hot guy pulled up, and his car was even hotter. I hit on him and he turned me down. What can I say? Three strikes and I was out.
Bruce: You're kidding.
Tess: Impossible but true. Anyways, I threw the teeniest of tantrums -- thank you -- took his car on a little joy ride. Then he got all pissy about it. So one thing led to another -- yada, yada, yada -- to make a short story long, I followed him here.
Bruce: I am glad you did. You are officially the guest of honor.
Tess: Hmm. Does that mean I can get another drink?
Kevin: I don't know what you're talking about.
Kelly: Did you tell Spencer that I can't have children?
Kevin: Uh --
Kelly: What the hell were you thinking?
Kevin: I just -- look, we were talking about us. I mean, we weren't talking -- it just slipped out. I can't believe the guy would bring that up around you --
Kelly: Slipped out? Something that personal about me just slipped out? How could you do this to me? You of all people know how I feel about this, what I've been through. Why would you ever think to discuss my personal issues, my reproductive issues, with anyone -- with anyone -- but especially someone that I'm actually interested in? I mean, did -- did you do this on purpose? Did you do this to turn him off?
Kevin: Of course not. I didn't --
Kelly: Well, you've been doing everything else. You've been following me around and --
Kevin: That's ridiculous and you know it. Come on.
Kelly: I'll tell you what I know. This is over. It's over. I wish I could say it's been swell, but it hasn't.
Dorian: You're going to the mansion?
Adriana: Yeah. We're going to sit by the pool, soak up some sun. We're too tired to do anything else.
Dorian: Will anybody else be there?
Adriana: I hope not. I'll call you, mom.
Spencer: Nice meeting you, Duke. So, kelly, why don't we make it official? We've been to lunches, dinners, an award ceremony. Why don't we go on an actual date?
Kelly: I would love that. I think that sounds like a fantastic idea. I might even buy a new dress.
Evangeline's voice: I laid my heart out before you right out on the table. I told you that I love you, how I feel about you. You could never say it back.
John's voice: Why are the damn words always so important?
Evangeline's voice: Because until today, I was buying into the fact that you loved me but that the words were just words you couldn't say to anyone.
John's voice: You said you understood.
Evangeline's voice: Yeah, I thought I did. I thought it was hard for you, that you just couldn't bring yourself to say the actual words. You said them to Natalie.
John's voice: I never made any declarations of love to anyone.
Evangeline's voice: Well, certainly not to me.
John's voice: I really tried. I wanted to find love again, but I don't know how to do it. I'm sorry.
Bo: What happened?
John: More than one. There was more than one.
Tess: Ah. Hi, boys. Bye, boys.
Man: I thought I told you to leave.
Tess: No, you didn't, actually. You excused yourself. It doesn't matter because Bruce really wants me to stay and it's his party, so --
Man: Does Bruce know that you're a car thief?
Tess: Actually, it's a hobby. And, yes, he does. Actually, he thinks it's one of my most endearing qualities.
Tess: Mm-hmm. So, you want to show me around this place or what?
Man: Ooh. No, thanks.
Woman: Bruce set this up?
Second woman: Uh-huh.
First woman: Great.
Man: Well, what's going on here?
Man: B-12? I don't know. I kind of had a vitamin this morning.
Spencer: I don't think you need a new dress. What you have on is perfect.
Kelly: Thank you.
Whitney: Tapas! Tapas! The chef and I huddled, and we agreed on the tapas hour during the cocktail hour.
David: Mmm, tapas. Si, como no.
Dorian: Now all we have to do is decide on the entrees. Let's talk to him.
David: Tapas, entrees, evil siblings.
Kevin: Kelly, enjoy your day.
Spencer: I hope that was all right.
Spencer: Asking you out. I didn't know Kevin was standing back there.
Kelly: Yes, you did. It's ok. I'm fine with it.
Bo: More than one? What are you talking about?
John: Evangeline was talking about being alone in the basement and Natalie turning up in the dark unconscious, right?
Rex: Yeah, we know all that. So?
John: So, you were the last person to see Natalie before she was kidnapped, right, at Llanfair?
John: And you came to the ceremony at the palace, all right? I get the bogus note, I go to the docks. Meantime, Evangeline's missing within 45 minutes of me leaving the palace.
Bo: Ok, where are you going with this?
John: Well, I knew there was something wrong with the timeline of how this all went down.
John: All right. Evangeline said she heard footsteps upstairs from where she and Natalie where being held in the basement and simultaneously heard someone outside preventing them from escaping outside the basement window.
Rex: What are you talking -- are you saying --
Bo: The killer had an accomplice?
John: That's why none of this was making sense. There's two killers out there.
Man: Let's begin at the beginning, shall we? Our new page one. Where the hell have you been?
Man: There wasn't a single clique in high school that would accept a freak like me. Not even the killing club.
>> On the next "One Life to Live" --
Asa: What do you want me to do with Margaret once I've got her?
Evangeline: He kissed me.
Michael: Why'd you stop it?
Spencer: Are you still interested romantically in Kevin?
Michael: Did the killing club ever have two people work together on one murder?
