Dorian: Kelly, don't you think an introduction to your date would be appropriate?

David: Hey, look, right over there -- a nice, quiet corner.

Dorian: David, please, don't be rude.  Kelly was just about to introduce us to her escort.

David: Introductions are overrated.  Besides, we have all night.  You know, I would like a little -- just a little quiet time with my fiancée.

Spencer: Fiancée?

David: Uh, did I say fiancée?

Spencer: Dorian Lord.  Who would've known that the beautiful woman I ran into not long ago was the Dorian Lord?

David: Hey, well, look at that.  Now you've met.  Shall we?

Spencer: I've heard so much about you, I really have.

Dorian: Don't believe everything you hear.  And you would be?

Kelly: This is Dr. Spencer Truman.  Dr. Truman, this is Dorian Lord, my aunt.

David: Dr. Truman, I've -- I've been meaning to run across one of you doctor folk this evening.  I have an awful boil that I've got, and I -- it's even bigger than the last one.  I need to have it lanced.  Would you mind if I spoke to you just for a brief moment, a brief moment, about lancing?

Kelly: Oh, the --

Dorian: Kelly, don't even go there.  So, a doctor, and a very tall doctor.

Kelly: I'm surprised you haven't heard of him.  He's pretty famous.

Dorian: Really?  I go away for a few days, and look what happens.  Is it serious?

Kelly: No, I'm just helping him fund a medical project.

Dorian: Ooh, that sounds like fun.  It's very promising -- a doctor, successful.  And the best news of all, he isn't a Buchanan.

Blair: I don't believe you, Carlo.  Asa sent you to kill me?

Carlo: What can I say?  He's not a nice man.

Todd: Where is Asa?

Blair: Oh, God, you son of a bitch!  You lock me up, you keep me away from my -- let me go!  You sent him to come kill me?

Bo: Blair --

Blair: You son of a bitch!  Let me go, Bo!

Man: You'll stay untied as long as you don't try anything.

Duke: I want to talk to Asa Buchanan.  I'm his great-grandson.  I know he's behind all this, ok?  I want to talk to him now.

Man: Hesser's our boss.  Buchanan's got nothing to do with this.

Duke: How long are you guys keeping us here?

Man: As long as it takes.

Adriana: Don't worry, Duke.  If Carlo's holding us to get something from Asa, they can't kill us.  Dead hostages are worthless.

Man: But injured ones ain't.

Second man: You don't need to cock it twice.  Just pull the trigger.

Lisa: He's got a lot of nerve showing up here tonight.  What is trying to do, ruin your evening?

Evangeline: Uh, you know, I think I saw a waiter go by with a tray of rumaki.  Why don't we go find some hors d'oeuvres, ok?

John's voice: "We were even more freaked out because Barclay had killed somebody by passing off the homicide as a drowning."

Lindsay: Getting a little crowded in there for you?

Marcie: Yeah.  I needed to be somewhere quieter.

Lindsay: Yeah, me, too.  I'll have what she's having.

Bartender: Club soda?

Lindsay: Yes.  Thank you so much.

Marcie: For what?

Lindsay: For all those beautiful things that you said about my daughter.

Marcie: She was wonderful, wasn't she?

Lindsay: Yes, she was.  And now, unfortunately, she's going to start fading from most people's memories.

Marcie: No, no, not mine.

Lindsay: Not mine either.  She's going to be with me every minute of my life.  But I know that I have to find a way to go on, you know? I somehow have to find a way --

Marcie: How?

Lindsay: To forgive.

Marcie: How?  How can you -- how can you possibly even forgive Daniel?

Lindsay: I don't know.  Look, Jen had the most unbelievable capacity for forgiving.  She forgave me for taking her father away from her, and I know she would want me to try to find a way to forgive Daniel.

Marcie: I wish that Julie and Hudson's parents could feel that way about me.

Lindsay: You don't hold yourself responsible for that, do you?  No, no, no.  Look at me.  Your friends died because some deranged person needed an excuse to fulfill their twisted fantasies.  Anything could've set them off.  Anything.

Marcie: It wasn't anything, Lindsay, it was me. It was my book.  I'm responsible.

Lindsay: Ok, look, I have a deal for you.  If I can find a way to forgive Daniel, you can find a way to forgive yourself.

Marcie: I can't -- I can't do that.

Lindsay: You're going to do it for Jen.

Marcie: Ok.

Lindsay: Ok?

Marcie: I'll try.  I promise.

Lindsay: Come here.  Ok, you ready to go back in?

Marcie: I guess so.  Go ahead, I'll be right behind you.

Lindsay: Ok.

Hayes: You -- you never cease to amaze me.

Marcie: What did I do now?

Hayes: That speech about Jen.  God, you certainly have a way with words, don't you -- written or spoken.  I'm impressed.

Marcie: What exactly are you trying to say, Hayes?

Hayes: You had that audience in the palm of your hand.  You moved them to tears.  Marcie, I smell another novel in the works.

John: Listen, I need every man we can spare down at the docks.  Yeah, well, I got a message from the killer.  He may have a hostage -- Natalie Vega.  That's right.  I'll call you back from the road.  Get on it.

Rex: Way to go, Natalie.  You've got John on the hook.  Now just reel him in.

Lisa: I can't say I'm sorry to see John go.  He would've been nothing but a distraction for you tonight, baby.

Kelly: Dorian, please.

Dorian: What, Kelly?

Kelly: You just got back together with David.  Don't mess things up.

Dorian: Oh, what are you talking about?  I'm merely interested in your personal life.

Kelly: Your brand of interest borders on obsession.

Dorian: How can I help but be interested when I see my niece draping herself all over such a charming, handsome -- did I say tall -- stranger?

Kelly: There was no draping involved.

Dorian: But you do find him attractive?

Kelly: Who doesn't?

Spencer: You obviously haven't told your fiancée about me.

David: I was going to.

Spencer: Really?  When?

David: At your funeral.

Spencer: What are you so afraid of, David?

David: If I tell her who you are, I'll have to explain everything else.

Dorian: David come on, darling.  Why did you have to drag Kelly's date away like that?

David: We were talking about the boil.

Spencer: Boil talk.

Dorian: Ok, the two of you, cut that out right now.  Fess up.  You two know each other, don't you?

Blair: You bastard, Asa, I will kill you!  You hear me?  I will kill you!

Bo: Listen to me.  I don't want to see you locked up for aggravated assault, all right?  Keep her over there by her husband, keep her calm.

Todd: Who's going to keep me calm?

Bo: All right, I'm going to find out what's going on here right now.  Nobody goes anywhere until I do.

Nora: Well, hello, Asa.  I heard they brought you in.

Bo: Yeah.

Asa: This is nonsense.

Todd: Was it nonsense when you put Blair in an institution?  Was it nonsense when you hired Carlo to kill her?

Asa: Whoa.  Hesser tried to kill Blair?

Bo: Wait, where did this tidbit of information come from?

Todd: Ask him.

Bo: What do you know about this, Hesser?

Carlo: I cannot tell a lie.  It was all Asa's idea.

Nora: Wait a minute.  Why would asa ask you to do it?  And then why would you agree to do it?

Asa: Exactly.  Why would I want Blair dead?

Blair: I'll tell you why.  So I won't testify against you, old man!

Todd: And isn't it convenient that you showed up in Llanview right after you thought Carlo finished the job?

Bo: All right, that's enough.  I'll ask the questions.  All right, Carlo, why would you agree to do a hit?  You know that if you were caught walking a dog in the U.S., you were going to be brought in.  Now, what's the deal?

Carlo: I was repaying a debt.  Asa and I had an agreement.

Asa: Damn it, that is a lie.  I have not seen that in years.

Carlo: Ask Renee.  She knew her husband and I made a deal.

Bo: All right, Renee, you've always been a straight shooter.  Tell me the truth.

Renee: All right.  I'll tell you what I know.

Duke: He's not a very good shot.

Man: That was a warning.

Second man: We're going to go outside.  If you try anything, you'll wish you hadn't.

Adriana: What's going on?

Duke: I don't know, ok?  I don't know.  I mean, we thought Asa was trying to kill you, but obviously that's not it.  I mean, he and Carlo must be up to something, and somehow we got right in the middle of it.  Hey, listen, don't worry, ok?  I'll get us out of here.

Adriana: We'll get us out of here.

Duke: I still can't believe how you stood up to those guys.  Just don't do it again, ok?  Who knows what could've happened?

Adriana: I couldn't help it.  I'm just wired that way.  Like mother, like daughter.

Duke: Now you're scaring me.

Adriana: We're going to get out of here, Duke.  We just have to put our heads together.  I mean, you fly planes, you run a big company, you ride horses -- who knows what else?  You must've impressed all the girls back home.

Duke: Yeah, it was just a perk.

Adriana: So who were you trying to impress?

Duke: I'm a Buchanan, which means that those abilities aren't just expected, they're required.  And now me being a Buchanan has pulled you right in the middle of a snake pit.

Renee: Carlo is lying.

Todd: Well, what would he stand to gain by lying?  He's busted anyway.

Renee: He hates Asa.  He'd love to see him go to prison.

Asa: That's settled.  Renee and I are on our way out.

Bo: No, no, no, no, you're not.  No, there's still that little matter of Blair's kidnapping.

Nora: We have statements from a doctor and a nurse at Wingdale institute.  Blair was checked in by a man claiming to be her father.

Asa: Well, that's it!  Nobody in their right mind would ever believe that I'd claim to be related to that!

Blair: I saw you there, Asa, at the first hospital, and you know it!

Bo: But we don't have any proof that you were held anywhere other than Wingdale.  Now, I want to talk to that doctor and nurse again.

Nora: My office will arrange it.

Bo: Thanks.  I'm going to find out the truth here, pa, one way or the other.

David: Yes, Spencer and i knew each other -- casually, a long time ago.

Kelly: That's all you're going to get out of him, Dorian.  Trust me.  Spencer, I'm parched.  How about getting a thirsty girl a glass of champagne?

Spencer: It was nice meeting you, Dorian.

Dorian: Yes, the pleasure was all mine.  Uh-uh, uh-uh.  Ok, so what's the big deal?  What are you not telling me about Spencer?

David: Dorian, Spencer Truman is -- not right for Kelly.

Dorian: Now who's being overprotective?  Sweetheart, when I asked you to keep an eye on my girls for me, I didn't mean that you should become me.  He seems like, well, quite the catch.

David: Oh, he's a catch, all right -- like a poisonous puffer fish.

Lisa: And you play tennis, too?  You and Evangeline have so much in common.

Evangeline: You're right.  We do have a lot in common, Kevin.

Kevin: I'm sorry.  Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?

Evangeline: No, you haven't.  And if you'll excuse me, I am going to step aside and go over my speech one more time.  Mom, take it easy on Kevin.

Lisa: Oh, honey, of course.

Evangeline: Ok.

Lisa: So, Kevin, do you have any children?

Kevin: Yes, I have a son.  He works with me at Buchanan Enterprises.

Lisa: Really?

Lisa: Well, I can't say I'm sorry to see John go.  He would've been nothing but a distraction for you tonight, baby.

Lindsay: Hey.  I'm happy you could make it for Marcie's speech.

Rex: I think that you, Marcie, and I are the only ones who ever understood Jen.  I really loved her.

Lindsay: I didn't get that for a long time, but I get it now.  And I know that you're never going to forget her.  But you will one day meet someone else and fall in love.

Rex: No.  No, she was it.  I should've done more to keep her safe.  You know, I keep thinking if only I had another -- another day with her, another hour, another minute.  And every second is precious because you never know.  Excuse me, I have to make a call.

Rex: Natalie, good job.  Looks like it worked.  Mc Bain raced out of here like a madman.  He's coming to your rescue, sis.  Call me.

John: It's pretty dark out here.  We're going to need some lights.  Fan out.  Let's get a search going under the docks, too.

Officer: What are we looking for, sir?

John: I don't know.  Something, anything.

Officer: That water is damn cold this time of year.

John: "Deep port river is fast and cold, even in summer.  Someone couldn't have survived in that water for very long."

John: It's Natalie.  Here.

Officer: What are you doing, lieutenant?

John: I'm going in.

Bo: Not back yet?

Officer: Not yet.

Todd: I don't want there to be any mistake.

Blair: That's right.  Both of you are going to pay.

Asa: I didn't do anything.

Blair: You're such a liar, Asa!

Nora: Bo?  Do you remember Dr. Cornell and nurse Messner from Wingdale institute?

Bo: Yes, yes, thank you for coming.

Blair: I never thought I would say this, but I'm actually glad to see you.

Dr. Cornell: I have the commitment papers right here.  Ms. Cramer was committed by her father -- or a man claiming to be her father -- Asa Buchanan.

Nora: Asa, these are not parking tickets.  This is a federal charge tried by federal prosecutors.

Dr. Cornell: There's some misunderstanding.  This isn't the man who brought ms. Cramer to Wingdale. That's Asa Buchanan.

Marcie: Don't you have any other clients other than me, or am I the only you like to suck blood from?

Hayes: You know, there was a time when you were willing to put your career, your life in my hands.

Marcie: Well, that was before I found out what a pig you are.

Hayes: Marcie, I -- I know that you're under a lot of stress.  Why wouldn't you be?  There's a killer copying the book you wrote.

Marcie: And you're promoting it.

Hayes: Yeah, but, Marcie, you are a great writer, so great that some -- some sick soul is using your book as a road map to murder! It's time for a sequel.

Lisa: It is amazing how much you two are alike.  You've got so many of the same interests.

Kevin: Yeah.

Evangeline: Subtle.  Subtle, mom.

Lisa: So, Kevin, does your mom live in Llanview?

Kevin: Yes, she does.

Lisa: Oh.

Evangeline: As far as I'm concerned, the woman of the year award should be named after her.

Lisa: Is she here tonight?

Kevin: Uh, no, she's not.  She's in the hospital.  She had a heart attack.

Lisa: Oh, I'm so sorry.

Kevin: It's ok.  She's fine, she's recovering.  Thank you.  Matter of fact, I told her that I would call her tonight.  It's about that time, so if you'll excuse me --

Evangeline: Oh, of course.

Lisa: Oh, my gosh, he's so handsome.  Oh, and what a gentleman.  And he loves his mother!

Evangeline: He is my friend.

Lisa: Darling, friends can evolve.

Evangeline: Mom, my heart is still raw from my breakup with John.  And even if I was ready to jump back into a relationship, from what I can see, Kevin Buchanan is still in love with his ex-wife.

Kelly: So as far as your funding

Spencer: Oh, I have every confidence in you.  I have been doing a little research.

Kelly: Really?

Spencer: Mm-hmm.  Your work at Llanview University is really good.  I'm impressed.

Kelly: Thanks.

Spencer: So what else do I need to know about you?

Kelly: Well, I'm just now learning things about myself.  You know, I'm on my own now.  I was living at Asa Buchanan's house, and then at my aunt Dorian's house, and now I'm living out behind Viki -- Viki's house, so it's --

Spencer: Asa Buchanan -- what's he really like?

Dorian: Excuse me, can I borrow my niece for a moment?

Spencer: Certainly.  Excuse us.

Dorian: Of course.  Ok, sweetheart --

Kelly: Hmm?

Dorian: What are you not telling me about Spencer?

David: Spencer, would you just leave?

Spencer: You know, I really like it here in Llanview, David.

David: We will talk about Llanview later.  I want you to leave the Palace right now.  Get an emergency call or something, please, as a favor.

Spencer: Oh, you're the one who owes me, remember?

David: And you want me to pay you back for the rest of my life?  Hey, hey -- I have paid enough for what happened.  You are not going to hold that over me anymore.

Spencer: Why are you so worried about people finding out about us?

David: I have my reasons.

Spencer: Then you’ve got problems.

David: Spencer, I'm begging you, please don't tell Dorian.  Don't tell Kelly.  Don't tell anyone.  Nobody can find out that we're brothers.

 [John coughs]

Officer: Anything, sir?

John: Let's get every badge we can get down here.  We need a chopper with night sun, and every boat.  Let's do it and let's do it now!

Officer: Yes, sir.

John: Scan out, all right?  Keep looking, there's got to be something here.

[Noise]

John: What the hell are you doing here?

John: Well?

Rex: I, uh -- I was out for a jog?  Walk?  Stroll?

John: I'm not in the mood!  What are you doing here?

Rex: I followed you.

John: Why?

Rex: Well, you know, I got a taste of detective work working with Bo -- commissioner Buchanan.  I liked it.  I saw you run out of the Palace --

John: Why were you hiding?

Rex: I didn't want to get in the way.

John: Of what?

Rex: Of you and "The Killing Club" guy

John: How'd you know that's what I was doing here?  Where's Natalie?

Kevin: David's brother, huh?  Boy, you sure can pick 'em.

Dorian: So, David, Spencer is your brother?

David: No.  No, he's not my brother.  I said he was a friend of my brother's.

Kelly: We all heard you, David.  All of Llanview heard you.  Why didn't either one of you say anything about this?

Dorian: You never told me that you had a brother.

David: No, I didn't, but I did tell you that my family is less than perfect.

Kelly: Whose isn't?

Dorian: And, of course, you, as a successful doctor, Spencer, wish to divorce yourself from such an unpleasant past?

Spencer: Oh, no, no.  It was actually David here who parted ways with family, specifically me.

Dorian: Oh.

Spencer: I'm sorry for all the secrecy.  Maybe David would like to explain the details.

Dorian: Indeed.  David, let's go to the bar.  I can't wait to hear what you have to tell me . Come on.

Kelly: Ahem.

Spencer: I'm sorry.  I should've been more open with you about this.  My family history is just -- it's so complicated and boring.

Kelly: Complicated I'll buy.  Boring?  No way.  So, Spence, tell me everything.

Adriana: Oh, my God!

Duke: What is it?

Adriana: There are rats!

Duke: It's just a trap.

Adriana: No, if there's a trap, there are rats, and I can't stand rats!

Duke: Take off your bra.

Dr. Cornell: There's no question this is the man who brought  Ms. Cramer to the hospital.

Carlo: That is a lie!

Nurse Messner: That is definitely the man who brought her in.

Blair: But I saw Asa.

Dr. Cornell: The medication may have influenced your perception.

Bo: Well, thank you, doctor, Nurse Messner.  That'll be all.

Nora: I'll show you out.

Blair: Bo, it was Asa, and I know it.

Todd: Asa told me Blair was at Wingdale.  How could he have known that unless he put her there in the first place?

Asa: Oh.  As you all know, I put a hotline in my home, hoping to get some tips on how to find Blair.  I did get a call from someone saying Blair might be at Wingdale.  I didn't have a chance to follow it up.  Then I ended up going on my vacation.

Todd: He's lying.

Nora: Ok.  Well, you don't have enough to hold Asa, but you can lock that one up.

Carlo: I get a phone call.

Todd: Don't worry.  I'll take care of Asa.

Asa: I knew I could count on you.

Renee: We're not speaking.

Carlo: I'm making my one call.  You better have good news.

Man: We got Buchanan's great-grandson and his girlfriend.

Carlo: The timing couldn't be better.  If you don't hear from me in 24 hours, kill them.

Bo: All right, let's go.

Todd: All right, you wait here.  A lot can happen between here and lockup.

Blair: I'm going to find that one person that you haven't paid off at that hospital, and then I'm going to crucify you.

Asa: I will deny it, and it'll go on and on and on.  Blair: I'm not going to make a deal with the devil.  One way or the other, Asa, you are going to fry.

Asa: But I bet you'd like Margaret Cochran frying even more.  You see, I have more resources than the police, and I don't have their code of ethics.

Blair: No kidding.  You don't have to worry your pretty little head because Todd's going to take care of Margaret, ok?

Asa: I guess, if you want him to spend the rest of his life in prison.  I'll tell you what -- you get Bo off my back, and stop yakking all this nonsense about this kidnapping bull, and I guarantee you will never see Margaret ever bother you again -- unless, of course, you want Todd to handle it.  Those conjugal visits -- will that be enough for you two?

Dorian: Honey, I know that you had a very difficult childhood and that you've been alienated from your family.  But for you to deny your own brother, especially when he's become such a distinguished man --

David: Oh, no, not you, too.  I am so tired of people shoving me aside so they can line up to worship him.

Dorian: It's true that your lives have taken very different paths.  He has become a distinguished medical professional, and -- but you are a truly amazing man, and you are the man that I love.  Now, I think he should get to know the man that you have become, and you should get to know him better.  I certainly would enjoy the opportunity of getting to know Spencer better.

Kelly: Thank you.

Spencer: I think David has always been just a little bit jealous of me.  I never tried to put him down, I always tried to help him. I certainly don't want to start competing with him now.

Kelly: Llanview, then why did you come here?

Spencer: I didn't he know he was living in Llanview when I got here.  And he asked me to keep it a secret.  I just think maybe he didn't want me overshadowing him.

Kelly: Oh, that sounds like David.

Spencer: I just hope that this doesn't cause problems for David and Dorian.

Kelly: No, no, I don't think it will.  I mean, David's always kind of had a void in his life.  I think that's why he sort of made Dorian's family his family.  And everyone needs family, right?  Even David.

Evangeline: Thanks so much.

Kevin: That was nice.

Evangeline: Yes.  Nora!

Nora: Hello, sweetie.

Evangeline: Oh, my gosh, you look gorgeous.  Ok, Nora --

Nora: Yes?

Evangeline: This is my mother.

Nora: Mrs. Williamson, I'm so glad to meet you.

Lisa: Hello, Nora.

Nora: Hi there.  How are you?

Evangeline: So did you hear the Vickers newscast?

Nora: What was it?

Kevin: Oh, this is great.  David and Spencer were talking in front of a live microphone, and they announced to the crowd that they were brothers.

Nora: No.

Kevin: Yeah.

Evangeline: Yeah, it was quite a moment.

Nora: Well, that Spencer is quite something, isn't he?  Well, I guess maybe that takes care of the curse, huh?

Lisa: What curse?

Nora: Oh, this evening, this whole -- a catastrophe always happens on the night of the woman of the year, so maybe David's taken care of that.

Marcie: Hi. I'm sorry to interrupt, but we're almost ready to begin.  So, Nora and Evangeline, if you could take your places?

Evangeline: Oh --

Nora: Come on, honey.

Evangeline: I hope my speech is worthy of this award.

Lisa: Oh, you're going to be wonderful, Cookie.  I am so proud of you.

Evangeline: Not as proud as I am of you, mom.

Nora: Come on, come on.

Kevin: Oh, whoa, whoa -- good luck, Cookie.

Evangeline: Thank you, cupcake.

[Women laugh]

[Evangeline sighs]

Nora: So, you nervous?

Evangeline: Absolutely.

Nora: Don't be.  Everything is going to be perfect.

Evangeline: Not quite.

Nora: Why, because John isn't here?

Evangeline: Please.  John is doing what John does.

Nora: Oh, good luck.

Evangeline: Thank you.

Nora: All right, you ready?

Evangeline: I'm ready.

Nora: Ok.  I'm not sure I am.  Here we go.

Evangeline: Ok.

John: Come on, Balsom, start talking.

Rex: I followed you here.  I wanted to see what you were doing.  Police work --

John: Why didn't you say anything when I asked you about Natalie?  Huh?  You don't even seem concerned.  Have you seen her?

Rex: I haven't seen her in a while.

John: Did she say anything about where she was going, what she was doing?

Rex: No.

John: Did she say anything?

Rex: I don't know.

John: Where was she supposed to be?

Rex: Here!

Asa: Well, what do you say?

Todd: If the courts don't give Carlo the death penalty, I will.

Bo: Oh, knock it off, Manning.  Talk like that I can put you down in lockup with Hesser.

Asa: Well?  Am I wrong?

Blair: Ok.

Todd: I wouldn't look so cocky, Asa.  You're going to pay.

Bo: Pa?  I know there's more going on here, and sooner or later I'm going to find out about it.  Now, you got out of legal hot water today, but you still have to face your family.

Todd: Asa's not going to get away with this.

Blair: You know, maybe I was wrong about Asa.  You know, I -- I was very drugged, and the doctor said I was hallucinating.  Maybe it was Carlo that I saw.

Todd: It was Asa.  He told me you were there.  He confessed when I pointed the gun at him.

Blair: You had a gun?

Todd: Damn straight I had a gun.

Blair: It -- it was Carlo.  I -- look, I remember now.  I remember. Come on, let's -- let's get home.  Come on.

Carlo: How much did you pay the guard to let you in here?  Same as you paid the nurse and doctor to lie?

Asa: I'm innocent, Hesser.  Ask the D.A.

Carlo: Looks like you'll never see your 30 million.

Asa: You know, I don't think that I could buy a better $30 million present than by putting you away in prison for the rest of your miserable, damn life.

Carlo: You sound so sure of yourself.

Asa: It's the end of the road for us, Hesser.

Carlo: You really think so?

Asa: No, I know so.  I've got all the cards.

Carlo: I think one of them might have fallen out of the deck.  An Ace.

Duke: That ought to do it.

Adriana: At will it do?

Duke: Well, when they open the door, the trap snaps shut on the bullet, which should be enough to set off a reaction.  Hopefully, we'll get a big enough flash-bang to disorient them just for a few seconds so we can then quickly overpower them and run like hell.

Adriana: Will it work?

Duke: That's a good question.

Adriana: You are so incredibly amazing.

Duke: Yeah, let's -- let's wait to see if it works before we start heaping on the compliments.  Do you mind answering something for me?

Adriana: Yeah, what?

Duke: How does a girl take off her bra without taking off her shirt first?

Adriana: Trade secret.  Why?

Duke: Well, I find it terribly disappointing.

Nora: I am so happy to see all of our honoree's family and loved ones and friends here tonight, and I am so honored to be here to present this year's woman of the year award to my friend.  And, frankly, I can't think of anyone more deserving to receive this award.  Her pro bono work in Llanview as a defense attorney --

John: What do you mean, she was supposed to be here?  Were you meeting her?

Rex: No.

John: Did she get a call?

Rex: No.

John: Hey, every minute we waste could be putting her life in danger.
