Blair: Oh. Ooh, what's this?

Todd: Open it.

Blair: What is this?

Todd: It's a flashlight, so you won't have to be in the dark anymore, not in Margaret’s trunk and not about me.

Blair: Thank you. Okay. What's wrong?

Todd: Kelly.

Blair: Yeah, so?

Todd: So she knows what Margaret did to me.

David: Ah. Ah

Viki: David? What are you doing?

David: I -- there are -- is a nick in your door.

Viki: Really? What a relief. For a minute I thought maybe there was something wrong with your face.

David: Can I ask you a question? Is the tie trying too hard?

Viki: David, doesn't Kelly have a mirror?

David: Not full-length. And she doesn't have a single deck of playing cards, either. Do you?

Viki: Several.

David: I need to borrow the King of Hearts.

Bartender: Good evening. What can I you?

Dorian: How about a bottle of your finest champagne?

Bartender: You got it.

Kelly: Well, you look fantastic.

Dorian: Thank you. I tried.

Kelly: I really hope you're meeting David tonight.

Dorian: No, not David. Tonight I am meeting the King of Hearts.

Natalie: I'm sorry, Nora, but Uncle Bo left Matthew with me and I cannot let you take him out of here.

Nora: You don't tell me what I can and can't do with my son.

Natalie: Well, I am right now, and if you try to pull rank on me, this officer here will back me up.

Nora: Okay, what is going on here? Why won't Bo let me take Matthew home?

Rex: Are you sure Daniel's here?

Bo: You heard Officer Darrow. He came in here. He wasn't alone.

Rex: All right, let's go find him.

Bo: Not until we get a warrant from John, all right? In the meantime, we watch the exits. If Colson leaves, we tail him but at a distance. He can't find out that we're on to him.

Rex: Screw that.

Bo: "Screw that." Balsom!

Man: What's wrong? Lovers' quarrel?

Lindsay: Did Jessica ever tell you or give you any kind of explanation to how this fire started?

R.J.: No, not to my satisfaction. That girl has a problem. Now, that's bad for Antonio, but it's good for me.

Lindsay: Jamie is supposed to be with you. Thank you for letting me tuck her in. It felt really good reading a little girl to sleep and making her feel safe, like nothing bad would ever happen to her.

R.J.: Well if I do get custody, a big part will be because of you. You came to the hearing when no one expects you to do anything but grieve, and you put yourself on the stand and testified, and I'll never forget it.

Lindsay: It was the right thing to do.

R.J.: Lindsay, I know what it's like. I lost my daughter, too. Nothing can take that pain away, and nothing ever will. But I am here if you need someone to cry on or yell at beat up a little.

Lindsay: Well, there is one thing you can do for me.

R.J.: Name it.

Lindsay: Make me go home.

Nora: Okay, let me get this straight. Bo is out running around God knows where in search of suspect, and he doesn't think Matthew isn't safe unless he's with you?

Natalie: Not just me. He put a cop on him too.

Nora: This is absurd, absolutely absurd what aren't you telling me, Natalie?

Natalie: Look, Nora, Bo is that kids father, too, and obviously he feels he is doing the right thing.

[Part of transcript missing]

Mark: We’re alone. Look, tomorrow's the first day of your life, right? This be the last chance you [words missing]..

Daniel: Yeah, maybe you're right. It might be a while before we can do this again.

Mark: Exactly.

Daniel: It feels good not to worry, be myself.

Mark: So you want to dance with me?

Daniel: No, no, Mark. No, I -- I'm this close to having everything I've always wanted. I'm not going to have you ruin everything.

Mark: What are you -- all you got to do tomorrow is show up at the steps of City Hall.

Daniel: No, no, Bo showed up at the house today asking all kinds of questions.

Mark: What kind of questions?

Daniel: Look, it doesn't make a difference now. I came here to have a good time with you. But I'm not going to ruin everything because you want to dance.

Mark: You know what? Why don't you do something for me for a change? I'm not asking you to throw your life away. I'm not asking you to come out. I'm not even asking you to divorce Nora. All I want to do is dance with the man I love for one night, okay? We're miles away from home. Nobody cares. Nobody even knows you're here.

Bo: You better stick with me or I will cuff you and lock you in the car. Colson can't see us.

Rex: But we can see him, right? Now, unless Colson hangs out in gay bars for some reason that seems to escape me, I'm going to have to go with the obvious here. Daniel is Ted. Ted was having a high-stakes affair, something so hot he murdered Cramer to keep it under wraps. Then he set up Jen for it. When it looked like that wasn't going to work, the bastard murdered her, all so nobody would find out Colson's gay.

David: Maybe it's not the tie. Maybe it's the suit. Maybe the suit is trying too hard. What do you think? Do you think I should change?

Viki: David.

David: I know, I know -- I look terrific, I look successful. Wait a second. I look like the King of Hearts.

Viki: Spitting image, except for the hat. David, what is this all about?

David: I met the perfect woman.

Viki: Where?

David: Online, on the Internet. You know, one of those Internet dating services.

Viki: Oh.

David: Listen to this -- she likes champagne and caviar by one of her fireplaces.

Viki: Oh, my God, she sounds like a cliché.

David: Originality is overrated.

Viki: Look, I hate to be the devil's advocate, but do you have any idea what she looks like?

David: She has several fireplaces. I may be shallow, but I have never judged a woman by her looks.

Viki: Well, that's true. You always check out the wallet first.

David: You know, I got to hand it to you. I don't think I would've gotten back into the game so quickly if it weren't for your wisdom, your maturity --

Viki: Okay, that's enough. I'm not Methuselah.

David: Methuselah was a thousand years old. You're not even half that. Besides, your nickname is "Blondie," isn't it? Isn't that what Ben Davidson called you in those personal ads?

Viki: Yeah.

David: Oh, boy. You really had it, didn't you? The real deal?

Viki: Mm-hmm. And I suspect that you and Dorian did, too, probably still do.

David: Ah, I sure thought so, for a while anyway. But you know what? I am convinced I'm going to find it again with someone. Maybe you will, too, if you want it. Thank you.

Viki: Why do you need that?

David: It's the King of Hearts. I'm the King of Hearts. That's my screen name, no spaces.

Viki: Ah.

David: This way the woman I'm meeting will know who I am.

Viki: And what does she call herself?

David: "One perfect rose."

Kelly: Okay. You're meeting a man here that you met on the Internet whose screen name is "King of Hearts."

Dorian: Now, don't make it sound so sordid.

Kelly: The Dorian Lord I know would never go trolling on the Internet for a date. I think it's time to go home.

Dorian: No!

Kelly: Dorian, come on, you don't want to --

Kevin: Well, I see the tables have turned.

Kelly: What?

Kevin: Well, you're now trying to run Dorian’s life instead of the other way around.

Dorian: Hmm?

Todd: Oh, good, another person that knows what Margaret did to me. They're probably telling Dorian right now. I'm going to put a stop to it.

Blair: Todd, come on, come on, come on. No fighting, not tonight. You know, I don't think you should be mad at Kevin, either. In fact, I think you should be grateful to him.

Nora: I'm a lawyer. I don't accept things on faith.

Natalie: Well, then talk to Bo, but you're not taking Matthew.

Nora: God, you're the most infuriating woman.

Natalie: Look, I am just trying to help Bo protect your son.

Nora: I know, I know, and I'd probably do the same thing if I were in your shoes. What is going on? Bo has been sniffing around, saying the most horrible things about Daniel.

Natalie: And you didn't listen?

Nora: Oh, that's rich coming from you, who slept with -- lived with Paul Cramer. And you're baring your teeth at me to protect my own son?

Natalie: Look, I never claimed to be perfect, all right? Yes, I slept with Paul, and he stuck around for me. Then he terrorized everyone I know including me, and I hated him for that. Now he's dead, and Bo is out there trying to find his murderer. You know, I thought you -- I thought you loved Jen.

Nora: What does that have to do with anything?

Natalie: Jen died because everyone thought she killed Paul, so whoever did kill him is responsible for her death, too. Look, Nora, you're a great mom. But Bo loves Matthew just as much as you do, and for whatever reason, he left him here with me. Okay, I don't know why. I don't know why he thinks that Matthew would be safer with me tonight rather than you, but I am not going to let him down.

Nora: Wow. So this is really something very big, isn't it?

Natalie: I don't know what it is, so please don't ask me again.

Natalie: Go talk to him. But if you leave, you leave by yourself.

Rex: If I find Colson, I'm going to beat the crap out of him and throw him to the rats outside.

Bo: I don't want to hear another word about revenge.

Rex: Admit it, Commissioner, you want to see that creep die a slow, painful death.

Bo: The way we do that is we do everything by the okay.

Rex: Colson is a lying parasite. The guy killed Cramer because he was too chicken to come out of the closet, and then he turns around and marries your ex. Nora thinks that he loves her, okay, but he's just using her as a beard. The guy lives with your kid, Bo, helps him with his homework, tucks him in at night with the same hands that he used to kill Paul and Jen.

Bo: Shut up.

Rex: Look, you still care about Nora. And that kid makes your world go round. So don't tell me you don't want to rip the guy's face off and throw him on the third rail.

Kelly: Dorian is meeting someone here that she met on the Internet, so I'm just trying to protect her from herself. Come on; let's go home.

Kevin: Ah, spoken like the true master.

Dorian: An innocent little date does not compare with a walking time bomb like Kevin.

Kelly: Dorian.

Dorian: No, really. My worries and concerns are valid, whereas yours, while touching, are totally unnecessary.

Kevin: Personally, I can't wait to see what kind of misfit you've managed to ho yourself up with.

Dorian: He sounds like a marvelous man.

Kelly: The only thing you know about him is that he has a computer.

Kevin: And is he a man?

Dorian: Just relax. Listen to me. Adriana is the one who set me up with this.

Kelly: What?

Dorian: Yes. She says I need to get out there more, and she's right. She says that if I focus on my own betterment, I'll worry less about my girls. Case in point -- tonight you're here with Kevin, and Blair is with Todd. Am I trying to get either one of you out of here, dragging you kicking and screaming out of here? No. I'm just standing here with my perfect rose, waiting for the man of my dreams to arrive.

Todd: You want me to thank Kevin?

Blair: Yes. Yes, Todd, because you know, I know the truth now and I think because I know the truth, we've gotten closer. We're almost back to the way we were.

Todd: We're closer?

Blair: Mm-hmm.

Todd: That's what you think?

Blair: Don't you?

Todd: You know, I thought you'd be upset about this whole thing.

Blair: Look, it wasn't your fault. I mean, I'm a little freaked about what happened to the both of us, but I'm not angry.

Todd: Okay. We're closer. That's great.

Blair: You think that I'm upset because we haven't made love yet, right?

R.J.: I am not sending you home to an empty apartment, not tonight.

Lindsay: I can't stay here forever.

R.J.: One night, Lindsay. You know what's waiting for you. A house full of Jen’s things. There's no rush.

Lindsay: I want to stay. It's -- but what about tomorrow?

R.J.: Stay as long as you need.

Lindsay: Jen's gone and it's time for me to say goodbye. I have to go home. I need to cry and break things, and I need to do that by myself

R.J.: But today? Are you sure it's not too soon?

Lindsay: If I don't leave now, I'll just end up staying here with you and Jamie forever.

R.J.: Lindsay --

Lindsay: No, it would destroy what we have. I can't run from my life. And I can't go on living without you. Come on. Do me favor. Make me go.

R.J.: Lindsay --

Lindsay: No, just open the door and tell me to go.

R.J.: Just stay till the morning.

Lindsay: No.

R.J.: Go home.

Matthew: My mom sounded really sad when she said bye at the station.

Natalie: That wasn't your fault, Matthew.

Matthew: I know. It's just I heard my mom and dad yelling at each other worse than ever, and Daniel's never around. And Riley's sad, you won't let me go home, and Jen died and -- and I miss her.

Natalie: I know you do.

Matthew: You didn't even like Jen.

Natalie: We weren't best friends, but I know that a lot of people loved Jen, especially you.

Matthew: I want my dad.

Viki: Hi, Matthew. Sweetheart, I'm afraid I can't give you your dad, but I think I can give you the next best thing.

Man: How about a dance?

Rex: No.

Man: Sorry. No offense.

Rex: I'm sorry. My boyfriend gets jealous.

Man: Hey, how you doing? Hello, my darling. Your lush blossom beckons.

Nora: I'm sorry. Of course you would be together. The last place Lindsay would want to be would be home.

Lindsay: Well, obviously you don't want to go home, either.

Nora: I'm sorry, I'll go.

Lindsay: What's the matter, Nora? Did you finally wise up and leave Daniel? It's been, what, five or six weeks? That's a new record.

Nora: Lindsay, you're right. I don't want to go home. But my problems are nothing compared to what you're going through right now, and I'm sorry for that. If there's anything I can do --

R.J.: Lindsay's fine. She doesn't need your help.

Nora: Okay.

Lindsay: Unlike you, I have the courage to face the night alone. But then, you've never been good at being by yourself, have you?

Nora: Look, I know my problems don't compare to Lindsay’s. I just needed to be with family right now.

R.J.: Nora --

Nora: You are Rachel’s uncle. You were my brother-in-law. We've always been close friends. But most importantly, you're the only one I can trust in this town right now. Something's going on with Bo. Daniel, I think, too. I -- I don't quite know what it is, but for some reason, Bo won't let me bring my son home tonight.

Viki: I've had this tape ever since I was married to your Uncle Clint. Jessie and the boys used to love to watch it.

Natalie: I can't believe you never showed this to me.

Matthew: This is like a cowboy movie.

Viki: Yeah.

Matthew: Uncle Clint is a great rider.

Viki: Oh, yeah.

Natalie: Yeah, yeah, he is.

Matthew: Did you ever go riding together?

Viki: Oh, absolutely. I used to ride with Clint all the time, especially on his ranch. But you know, on this particular day, they gave me a horse that all he wanted to do was go back to the barn.

Matthew: That's not good, Aunt Viki.

Viki: No, it was not good. And they teased me so about it, especially Kevin and Joey.

Matthew: Grandpa looked really different.

Viki: Well, I think Asa looks exactly the same, just a little younger.

Matthew: Do you think he's ever coming home?

Viki: I don't know, honey. I don't know.

Matthew: I guess I should ask my dad that.

Man: Excuse me. Are you alone?

Daniel: I'm sorry, Mark. I can’t.

Mark: You know what? This is a waste of time. I'm out of here.

Daniel: You're leaving?

Mark: Go home to your wife, and the governor, and all your stupid fights with Bo Buchanan -- everything else that's more important to you than I am.

Bo: The thing is --

Man: So you're not sure you're here alone?

Rex: Uh, sorry. He's taken.

Bo: Thank you.

Rex: There he is.

Daniel: Listen, Mark, the night doesn't have to be a total bust. Why don't we find a hotel?

Bo: I want to see if John's got that warrant.

Rex: Okay, then we can arrest him on the spot?

Bo: No, the NYPD can arrest him.

Rex: All right, as long as I'm there to see it. Bad news, Colson. We're taking you down so Jen can rest in peace.

Blair: You were sexually assaulted. You're not going to wake up tomorrow or the next day or the week after that and just be okay. It's going to take some time. But we can heal; you can heal. And we can get back to the life we always dreamed when we were apart. That's why we survived.

Kelly: I realize that this is a difficult time for you. Daniel Colson is being sworn in to a job that you loved tomorrow. But that doesn't give you an excuse to attack me.

Kevin: I didn't attack you.

Kelly: You said I was behaving like Dorian. That's an attack.

Kevin: Well, if the stiletto fits.

Kelly: I am not anywhere near as conniving and manipulative as she is.

Kevin: Oh, yeah? What about last night, huh? You knew B.E. offices were bugged. You knew that Blair was listening. That is vintage Dorian.

Kelly: I did not know that the B.E. offices were --

Kevin: Yes, you did.

Kelly: No, I didn't! I didn't know that Blair was listening in, and if you're having trouble believing me, then maybe we just shouldn't work together.

Kevin: What? Kelly --

Kelly: I don't want to talk to you about this anymore.

Kelly: Hey. I just want you to know that I'm glad you're okay.

Todd: Why wouldn't I be?

Kelly: Well, I'm just really sorry about everything that has happened, and, I mean, I didn't want Blair to find out the way she did.

Todd: Okay, don't say another word.

Kelly: And just so you know, I didn't know anything about Margaret.

Todd: Not another word.

Kelly: I figured it out by myself. Just don't go off on Kevin again, please. I mean, don't go nuts on him.

Todd: Sit down. Okay, so you know my secrets. Uh, I'd like to know some of Kevin’s. Does he know where Asa is?

Dorian: David, are you stalking me?

David: I'm not here for you. I have a date.

Dorian: Oh? From which escort service?

David: Your wit needs sharpening.

Dorian: Hardly. I'm here for a date, too -- a legitimate one, one I don't have to pay for.

David: Really? With what? A troglodyte from the Stone Age? Ah. Excuse me.

Dorian: You are the King of Hearts?

David: You're One perfect rose?

Nora: Daniel, it's Nora. How are the preparations going?

Daniel: Everything's fine. A few things to iron out before the swearing-in ceremony. The governor wants me to stay in Harrisburg tonight.

Nora: Okay.

Daniel: Well, I can come home if you want me to.

Nora: No, it's fine. I just -- I mean, I knew you were going to be spending some nights away from home. I just had no idea it was going to start so soon.

Daniel: I'm sorry, Nora. You sound upset.

Nora: No, I'm fine. I just --

[Phone beeps]

Nora: Look, I'm about to run out of juice on the phone. Yeah, I forgot to charge it.

Daniel: Nora, what's -- what's going on?

Nora: Daniel, you just concentrate on your work, okay? I know tomorrow is the most important day in your life. Don't worry. I'll be there. Daniel, I love you.

Daniel: Nora -- Nora? Maybe -- maybe we shouldn't do this.

Mark: Why not?

Daniel: Something's wrong.

Mark: Look; we have all night to be together, and a hotel room down the block. The only thing wrong is you worrying too much to enjoy it.

Daniel: All right, you're right. Let's go.

Bo: Anything from the Attorney General? Yeah, the first thing in the morning, right? Okay, look, we're in -- we're in a bar in New York City. Colson's here. He's with his --

Rex: Lover.

Bo: I'll fill you in about this tomorrow. Okay? Yeah.

Rex: No warrant?

Bo: No. John has to -- he couldn't get a judge to sign of till morning. So hopefully tomorrow we'll be able to pick up Colson at his big swearing-in ceremony. I'd like to do it before then.

Rex: Right on.

Bo: Yeah, right on. You know, I've got to give Nora a heads-up what we're doing. Wow, what a day.

Dorian: The King of Hearts? The King of lonely hearts would be more like it.

David: Yeah, well, you're no perfect rose yourself. One perfect thorn is more like it. You know, Viki was right. You are a cliché.

Dorian: Viki said that?

David: While we were watching a movie.

Dorian: Fine! Date Viki. She's an original, all seven of her.

David: Well, you know what they say. "Variety is the spice of life."

Dorian: What was all that about dinner in Paris, dessert in the Piazza Navona? You can't even afford a pizza, much less a private plane.

David: Yeah, well, maybe not. But the part about me being funny and clever and devastatingly handsome? That was true.

Dorian: And the part about me being intuitive, independent, and incredibly sensual -- you know that's true. I saw you looking at that woman when she came in. You were hoping she was your date, weren't you?

David: Who were you hoping for?

Dorian: Anyone but you.

Kelly: I don't know where Asa is. I have no idea. I don't think Kevin knows, either.

Todd: Well, then do me a favor and dig it out of him.

Kelly: Yeah -- I don't really feel comfortable doing that.

Todd: So you didn't have any problem telling Blair deep, dark secrets, but you draw the line at digging up dirt for me, huh?

Kelly: I'm not going to discuss this anymore. Bye, Blair.

Blair: Bye, Kelly. Well, that went well.

Todd: Well, at least I'm not attacking Kevin.

Blair: Come on, Todd.

Todd: Margaret raped me, and you found out about it. And we had a little talk and we got over it. And as you say, we're -- we're well on our way to getting our lives back. But that does not mean that I'm going to stand around and let Asa and Margaret get away with what they did to us. I'm going to do whatever I can, whatever it takes to make them pay. You understand me? And you're just going to have to sit back and like it. Because that's who I am. That's the Todd Manning you wanted back. Right?

Blair: That is the Todd Manning that I love.

Kelly: I don't want to talk to you, Kevin.

Kevin: Okay, then just listen. Please. First off, I believe you. All right? And I was a jerk before. I just -- I feel really bad about the way Blair found out about the rape. I don't know why, I just do.

Kelly: It wasn't your fault. It was just bad luck.

Kevin: Well, you're right about the other thing, too. I mean, it bugs me that Colson's going to become Lieutenant Governor and there's nothing I can do about it. And I just took it out on the wrong person, and I'm sorry. Truce?

Kelly: Truce. Can I ask you something?

Kevin: Of course.

Kelly: Do you know where Asa is?

Kevin: No. No, I don't, Kelly. Wherever Grandpa's hiding, he's keeping it a secret from everybody.

[Music plays]

Asa: Turn the damn music off! I am on the phone!

[Music stops]

Asa: Okay. Tomorrow is D-day. You put my plan into action. If anybody finds out where I am or what the hell I'm doing, shoot them.

Nora: Well, my phone is officially out of juice, and no one can reach me because no one knows where I am.

R.J.: Well, you are more than welcome to use my phone.

Nora: I think you missed the relief in my voice. I don't want people to be able to reach me.

R.J.: Why didn't you tell Daniel that Bo was holding Matthew hostage?

Nora: Because he's with the Governor. Because he's being sworn in tomorrow. Because, because, because, because, because -- I don't know. Something's wrong, and I just don't know what it is.

R.J.: Well, don't you trust him? You married him.

Nora: I know. You know, when I was with Hank, nine out of 10 times I could tell you exactly what he would do or say in any given situation. You know? Hell, I could do that with you. And until recently, I could do that with Bo. But there's something going on. I mean, Bo, Daniel -- I don't know what's going on half the time. They're like total strangers to me.

R.J.: Well, look, why don't you stop unraveling my pillow and tell me what's really going on?

Nora: Bo thinks Daniel's having an affair.

R.J.: Do you?

Nora: I don't know.

Bo: Oh, come on, Nora, answer the phone. I want you to call me as soon as you get this. It's important. I'll bet she didn't even charge her phone. I got to get to her before Colson does.

Rex: You think Colson's headed back to Llanview tonight?

Bo: I don't know. But I've got surveillance at Nora’s house just in case. Yeah?

Ofc. Darrow: We tailed Colson and his date to the Avenue, but then we lost them.

Rex: Damn it!

Bo: All right -- no, no, take it easy. It's okay.

Ofc. Darrow: We'll keep an eye out.

Bo: Nice work. Okay. Look, look, look, Colson doesn't know we're on to him, okay? For him it's just business as usual.

Rex: All right, but we'll get him tomorrow, though, right? He's not going to skip his own coronation.

Bo: Yeah. I wish we didn't have to do it like this.

Rex: Oh, who cares? He deserves it!

Bo: Yeah, he does. He does. I mean, all the lies, murders -- it's all about Colson's ambition. All he cares about is getting power, so there's no way he's going to miss his big moment in the sun tomorrow.

Rex: You sure?

Bo: Positive. Tomorrow Jen’s killer meets justice.

Rex: What's this going to do to your ex?

Bo: It's going to shatter her whole world.

>> On the next "One Life to Live" --

Antonio: What can I do to make you better?

Lindsay: If you know who did this, you have to tell me.

Marcie: Did you really expect Daniel to go public with your relationship?

Man: What possible reason could Daniel Colson have for murdering Paul Cramer?
