Viki: You have a wonderful time, Honey.
Natalie: All right. Bye, Mom.
Viki: Oh, my God. I thought she'd never leave. Yes, yes, yes. Ah. There we go.
Viki: No, David.
David: Oh, come on!
Viki: No, David.
David: Door's locked. Don't be rude.
Viki: I can't believe this.
Paige: I'm sorry I'm late.
Bo: Worth the wait.
Paige: Is Daniel still not here? He's worse than I am.
Lindsay: Yeah, we were just talking about that.
Bo: Yeah, but, Lindsay, this conversation is over, okay? You know, I know it's a lot to ask you not to worry about Jen and this Cramer case, but try. She's going to be here in just a few minutes, so you should relax and have a nice mother-daughter thing, okay?
Bo: Excuse me.
Paige: Hey, Happy Mother’s Day.
Lindsay: Come on, Jen, where are you?
Nora: Come on, Daniel. Where are you?
Mark: Come in. What is it? What's wrong?
Daniel: Uh, nothing, nothing. I just need to get it together, that's all.
Mark: It's Nora, isn't it? She found out about us. Look, Daniel, I know you don't believe it now, but I promise you, that's probably for the best.
Daniel: No, no, Mark, that's not for the best. Nora can never find out about us. I'd kill to keep that from happening.
[Car engine runs]
Rex: Jen! Jen, where --
Rex: Where are you? Jen! Jen! Jen, wake up! Jen -- Jen, wake -- Jen, wake up! No!
Rex: Come on, Jen.
Rex: Jen, come here. Okay, put you down. Okay. All right. Okay, Jen.
David: Good evening.
David: Sorry about the knock. I didn't mean to give you a heart -- attack. Sorry that I startled you.
Viki: David, what is on your mind?
David: Well, Cook told me earlier that you keeled over, so I brought you some things to speed your recovery. Here we go.
David: Hmm. When you get bored, you can spy on the servants. I've had my eye on Lois and that gardener.
Viki: How thoughtful.
David: Spying can work up quite an appetite, so I brought you some mouthwatering snacks, albeit misshapen.
Viki: David, I'm afraid that is definitely not on my heart-healthy diet. Sorry.
David: Oh, no, the artery-clogging good stuff is for me. I brought you an apple, which may or may not be organic. And last but certainly not least --
Viki: "Duck soup"?
David: Nothing like the Marx brothers to cure what ails you.
Viki: Look, David, I really, really appreciate what you're trying to do here --
David: Oh, no, no, no, you stop. You stop right there. Don't you say another word. This is what neighbors do. This is what neighbors are for. I know you'd do the very same thing for me. Now, I assume you have a DVD player here somewhere. You're not still using VHS, are you?
Viki: David, for heaven's sakes, just call Dorian.
David: Dorian doesn't like the Marx brothers.
Viki: Don't you think Kelly would like to have her home back, and maybe a little peace and quiet? I know that I would really like some peace and quiet. So, David, please, call your fiancée and go home.
Rex: Come on, baby, come on. Come on, come on, come on, come on.
Rex: Come on. Come on. Why did you do this?
Lindsay: Jen was supposed to meet me here a long time ago. I'm really starting to worry.
Dorian: We can't help worrying about our children, can we? Even when they're just a few minutes tardy -- well, we worry about them, but we shouldn’t.
Lindsay: Dorian, she's going through a lot right now. The police think she killed Paul. She knows that. It's ruined her relationship. She's -- her whole life is falling apart. It's really hard for me not to worry.
Dorian: Listen to me; I know Jen didn't kill anyone. If she had, it would mean that she, you know, got someone to hide the murder weapon in my office -- plant it there? No, no, no, I do not believe that Jen is capable of doing such a thing.
Lindsay: You know that and I know that, but how do we convince Daniel?
Dorian: Hmm. Speaking of -- I see Nora is here alone. What's happened to her new husband?
Nora: Damn, Daniel. Doing it to me again.
Mark: Now, where did that come from?
Daniel: Uh, look, Mark, I only meant that -- that I would do anything so that -- that we could stay together.
Mark: You sure you don't mean you'd do anything to make sure we don't go public?
Daniel: I'm sorry, that's -- that's just the way it has to be.
Mark: Daniel, I used to think the same thing. You know, I spent years of my life pretending to be someone I'm not, but it's not worth it. I don't want to live like that anymore.
Daniel: All right, Mark, you -- you know this is a critical time for me right now.
Mark: When is it not going to be a critical time? I mean, when is it ever going to be any different? You know, we can get out of this hotel room and go out to dinner like a normal couple. Come on. Where's the Ted I fell in love with, huh?
Daniel: Mark, don’t. Please, don't be like that. I --
Mark: Be like what? I love you, Daniel. If you feel the same way about me --
Daniel: You know the way I feel.
Mark: And is this all you want? I mean, aren't you sick of lying about who you are? I mean, look at yourself, Danny. Look, all the lies to Nora, to Riley -- they're killing you inside. Wouldn't it just be easier to come clean and to tell them the truth?
Daniel: No one can ever find out about us, mark. Too much has happened. We can never go back now. Ever.
Rex: Come on, Jen, just breathe. Come on, just breathe once, baby, please. Why, Jen? Why did you do it? I love you so much.
David: Viki, you think you can give me a hand with this? It's heavy.
Viki: David, I don't mean to be rude to you, but I was actually just on my way up to bed when you stopped by.
David: No, you weren't, you were reading a book -- the last resort of the completely desperate.
Viki: That's amazing. I spent my entire life believing that literature was enriching my life.
David: Hey, I got an idea. Do you think maybe you could get one of the handmaidens to whip us up some popcorn?
Viki: Handmaidens are off tonight.
David: Hmm. Good thing I'm handy around a microwave. Salt and butter?
Viki: No, neither, David.
David: Bland, right. The Llanfair way.
Viki: Dorian? Hello, it's Viki.
Dorian: You sound terrible.
Viki: Oh, actually, I'm just exhausted. That's why I'm calling you.
Dorian: I could tell Natalie to come home if you like. I'm here at The Palace, and I saw her just a little while ago.
Viki: Uh, no, no, no. You know, actually, she just left here. Look, I realize that it may sound very odd that I'm calling you, you know, given our recent history, but Paige Miller had to stop by earlier here. Apparently I have a viral infection.
Dorian: You know, that's really very common in transplant cases, but I would get a second opinion. I've never been too confident about Dr. Miller's diagnostic capabilities.
Viki: No, she's an excellent doctor. Uh, but you're 100% right, I do need a second opinion. Dorian -- Dorian, you're a doctor. You're a wonderful doctor, and you were an integral part of my transplant team.
Dorian: That's certainly true.
Viki: Yes, so, it would put my mind at ease if you would come over and examine me.
Dorian: All right. I'll come over in the morning.
Viki: Well, couldn't you come tonight? You know, I -- I would sleep so much better.
Dorian: Oh, all right. I'll be right over.
Bo: Hey, Nat.
Natalie: Paige, thank you so much for stopping by and checking on Mom.
Paige: Oh, no problem, really, and I don't want you to worry too much because if it's an infection, that's normal. We're just going to monitor her a little more closely.
Rex: It's Rex.
Bo: Something wrong?
Rex: I found Jen.
Bo: What -- what do you mean, you "found" her? Was she missing?
Rex: She was in her car in the garage. She was --
Bo: Hold on. Can you excuse me just one second?
Paige: Yeah, of course.
Bo: All right, start over from the top.
Rex: I found Jen in her car. She was in the garage at the gallery. The engine was running.
Bo: Is she all right?
Rex: Jen's gone, Bo. She's dead.
Lindsay: I asked you to leave. You know what? Between you and Nora, there's too many Daniel supporters here for my taste, so when Jen gets here, we're leaving and finding a peaceful place to eat.
Nora: You're not being very fair, Lindsay. Riley and I both love Jen, and we believe in her.
Lindsay: Then tell your husband to go to hell and stop using my daughter as a pawn in his political game.
Riley: Listen, Lindsay, I know I may have screwed up big with Jen, okay, but I know my dad better than anyone and he's one of the most honest people you will ever meet.
Mark: What are you saying? All those things you promised me -- those are all just lies, too?
Daniel: I told you from the start that we had to be discreet.
Mark: No, you said that your marriage to Nora would just be temporary. You said that once you got the job in Harrisburg that we could be together.
Daniel: Oh, come on, Mark, you're only 23 years old. I mean, how can you possibly understand?
Mark: Right, right, just bring up the age thing again!
Daniel: Do you have any idea how long it's taken me to get where I am? To be respected as a father and as a husband? I'm going to be Lieutenant Governor of the entire state! Do you think I can hold on to that with you at my side?
Mark: You're ashamed of me.
Daniel: Mark, don't -- don't be naive.
Mark: No, I'm not. You said you were going to leave Nora. You promised me that you would tell her and Riley the truth.
Daniel: I'm sorry. I never meant to mislead you.
Mark: No, look, Riley's my friend. He accepts me for who I am. I mean, don't you think that he would accept his own dad?
Daniel: Look, you just -- you just have to trust me on this.
Mark: Well, it's getting harder and harder to do that, Daniel.
Daniel: You have any idea of what I've had to do to hold on to what I have? Who I've had to sacrifice?
Mark: Besides yourself, you mean! You know what? Fine. You know, you want this lie of a life you've worked so hard to create, you keep it, man. Enjoy it. You'll have to do it without me.
Daniel: No, Mark, please -- Mark, don't -- don't do this.
Mark: Hey, hey, maybe there's still time to save your marriage -- even though Nora has to know there's something wrong by now.
Daniel: You leave her out of it.
Mark: Well, you said yourself she's starting to ask questions. What are you going to do when she stops liking your answers?
Lindsay: I want you both to get out of my face and stay away from me.
Nora: Lindsay, calm down here. We all love Jen, and as far as she's concerned, we just want --
Lindsay: What, you're going to tell me how to mother my own daughter now?
Nora: Well, you have dropped the ball, mother-wise, on occasion, and I've had to step in to be a surrogate --
Lindsay: How dare you!
Bo: Lindsay, I need to speak to you about --
Lindsay: Not now, Bo. This is between Nora and me.
Bo: This is about Jen.
Lindsay: Has she been arrested? You knew about this, didn't you?
Nora: Bo, what is it?
Lindsay: Is she at the station? My God, I've got to call Evangeline.
Bo: No, you don't have to do that.
Riley: I'm going down there.
Lindsay: No, I don't want you anywhere near her!
Bo: Look, Jen hasn't been arrested.
Lindsay: Then what is it?
Bo: Come on; sit down.
Lindsay: No, I don't want to sit down, Bo! You're scaring me. Just tell me what it is. Has she been hurt? Is she at the hospital?
Lindsay: Bo, just tell me what it is!
Bo: Jen took her own life tonight.
Dorian: Viki, what are you doing up and about?
Viki: Well, somebody had to answer the door. Go on in.
Dorian: You sounded so terrible on the phone, like you were at death's door. That's why I came rushing over here when you said I should. Now, we'll begin by my examining your heart.
Viki: Oh, no, that's not necessary.
Dorian: You don't want me to examine you?
Viki: Uh, no, it's not that I don't appreciate it. I'm really just perfectly satisfied with my medical care.
Dorian: Then why did you insist on my dropping everything and coming over here?
Viki: Dorian, make yourself at home. Hope you like "Duck Soup."
Dorian: I detest duck in anything. It's too fatty. Viki, where are you going?
David: Hey, what about the movie? Where you going?
Mark: What about your wife, Daniel? Have you even thought about how unfair all of this is to Nora?
Daniel: Of course I have. I think about it all the time.
Mark: Yeah, yeah, yeah, but what do you care, huh? I mean, you've got the perfect setup -- your wife at home, me in the sack. You're the one who gets exactly what he wants.
Daniel: Yeah, you're right, Mark. I love lying to Riley, Nora. It's what I do best.
Mark: Dan, come on --
Daniel: No, no. If I could change any of this, don't you think I would? I -- I am knee-deep in hell. Don't you get that?
Mark: Hey, you know what? There's a way out of it.
Daniel: I can't! How can I make you understand? I am this close to being everything I've always wanted to be, everything I knew I always could be. And I won't let anyone or anything get in my way.
Mark: Then you're not the man I thought you were.
Daniel: You have no idea.
Mark: It's Nora. No, go ahead, answer it. Tell her the truth right now.
Daniel: I'm leaving, Mark, and I'm not saying goodbye.
[Phone stops ringing]
Daniel: You're going to have to decide if you feel the same way.
Riley: What happened?
Bo: Rex found Jen in her car. It was parked in the garage at the gallery.
Lindsay: No, Bo, that -- that's wrong.
Bo: I'm sorry, Lindsay.
Lindsay: Stop saying that. Stop saying you're sorry.
Riley: No, no, no, it's not possible. Why would she?
Bo: That's all the information I have right now.
Lindsay: I'm going to tell you why! It's because of you and your father! She would always call me. She would call me when she was in trouble, Bo. Why didn't she call me? Where is she?
Bo: Come here.
Lindsay: No! You killed her! You did! She killed herself because of you! And you both are murderers!
Nora: R.J., it's Nora. You need to come to the -- to The Palace right away. I think Lindsay really needs you. Okay.
Matthew: Did Jen kill herself?
David: Well, that's a first. My date seems to have stood me up.
Dorian: Then I'll leave, and you can woo Viki back downstairs.
David: Actually, I'm just using Viki for her D.V.D. player. Kelly's television is about as small as a laptop screen.
Dorian: David, are you happy?
David: I've got popcorn; I've got the Marx brothers, and a mansion to enjoy them in. Why wouldn't I be happy? Am I happy sleeping on a bed of nails in that ramshackle hut in Viki's backyard? What do you think?
Dorian: You don't have to be there. David, you have a home.
David: Actually, now that you mention it, I've been giving that a lot of thought.
Dorian: And what have you been thinking?
David: I think maybe I should sue you for my half of La Boulaie.
Dorian: Yeah? Just try it!
David: You know what? I could get my own place to live if I wanted to. I'm not penniless, I got a job. People respect me. Besides, there's only one thing of yours that I want.
Dorian: Oh, and what's that?
David: Your heart. All I've ever wanted is your heart. And I think Viki, despite her seemingly ambivalent attitude towards me -- she sees that. Why do you think she planned this chance encounter between us? Can I have it?
Dorian: Can you have what?
David: Your heart.
Dorian: Oh, David, you've always had that.
Nora: Your father got the phone call, he told Lindsay about Jen, and that's all I know, Sweetheart. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry.
Matthew: But why would Jen do that? Why would she kill herself?
Nora: I don't know, Sweetie. Sometimes people get so sad and scared they don't think there's any way out. But there always is a way out. You know that, don't you? There's always a way out.
Matthew: I just wish she would've talked to us. We could've helped her.
Nora: Oh, Sweetie. I love you.
Paige: Hey, Matthew. I am so sorry about your sister.
Matthew: Me, too.
Paige: You know, Bo is headed over to the hospital. If you'd like to go with him, I'd be happy to take Matthew home.
Nora: That's so nice of you. Thank you, Paige. Matthew, honey? Come here, Sweetie. Do you mind going home with Paige so that I can go with your daddy to the hospital?
Matthew: Yeah. Just find out what happened to Jen. Please?
Nora: I promise I will.
Bo: I'll call you later.
Paige: Yeah. Bye-bye.
Matthew: See you, Dad.
Bo: See you, bud. Hey, if you need anything, you call me, okay?
Nora: Thank you.
Lindsay: She's gone. My baby's gone.
Rex: I told you -- when I showed up, the car doors were locked. So I broke the window and pulled Jen out. I was not thinking about your crime scene, I was trying to save her life.
Natalie: Hey, Chuck.
Natalie: Ahem. Listen; maybe my brother could answer your questions later. The commissioner asked me to speak with him.
Chuck: Fine. But I still need you to make a statement.
Rex: What the hell have I been doing for the last 30 minutes?
Natalie: I'll make sure you get your statement.
Chuck: Thanks, Natalie. I'll see you.
Rex: I tried to help her. It wasn't enough.
Natalie: There's no way that you could've known that Jen had gotten to this point. I guess the possibility of going to prison for murder was just too much for her to take.
Rex: She wasn't going to prison. Bo and I were going to get Cramer’s real killer and clear her. We were getting so close.
Daniel: If that was the case, how come I wasn't told about it?
Bo: Lindsay, they're bringing Jen in. Listen, why don't you let R.J. take you home, okay? I can identify her.
Lindsay: No. Bo, I have to see my daughter.
Dorian: That was -- uh -- unexpected.
David: Not an evening with the Marx brothers, but it's a close second.
Dorian: Well, what does it mean?
David: I think it means we're hot for each other.
Dorian: I can't believe this is happening. I guess I'm going to have to thank Viki for coming up with this incredibly far-fetched scheme. Oh, thank goodness things can go back to normal. What is it?
David: It seems like you think I'm going to pack up my things and come home now.
Dorian: Well, aren't you?
David: Well, are you going to let Blair control her own life? Are you going to let Kelly and Adriana be with whomever they choose, even if it happens to be a Buchanan?
Dorian: Oh, my darling, you know I can't just stand by and watch Kelly and Blair and Adriana ruin their lives.
David: Then you know I can't come home.
Dorian: Why? Who's being controlling now? I mean, why do you have to put so many conditions on us? Isn't it enough that I tell you I love you?
Dorian: Well, then, I guess we're both better off alone.
Rex: What the hell are you doing here?
Daniel: Nora told me what happened. I'm sorry for your loss.
Rex: Yeah. I bet you are. You just lost your number one suspect.
Daniel: No. No, unfortunately, the fact that Jen committed suicide tends to reaffirm her guilt.
Rex: You are not even going to pin Cramer’s murder on Jen now that she's not here to defend herself. There is no way in hell I will let you do that.
Daniel: Excuse me. I have officers to talk to.
Rex: Does Riley know about Jen?
Daniel: I beg your pardon?
Rex: Well, shouldn't you be with him instead of here micromanaging the cops?
Daniel: Riley's going to be just fine. I'll make sure of that.
Natalie: Is there anything I can do to help?
Rex: It's not over.
Natalie: Let me take you home.
Rex: I mean it, Natty. I won't let it end like this for Jen.
Nora: I'm going to try and reach your father again, okay?
R.J.: Well, I wish I could tell you I didn't know how you feel. But don't you worry. I'm going to be right here by your side tonight, tomorrow -- as long as you need me. You know, Lindsay, you might not ever find out why this happened. You won't have that to hold on to, but what you've got is how much Jen loved you. And you know she -- she loved you a lot.
Lindsay: How could I not know? How could I not see this coming?
Lindsay: Take me to see my little girl.
Lindsay: I love you, Baby.
Singer: The rain will bring the rain will bring the rain will bring the rain will bring
Riley: Why? Why did this happen?
Nora: I don't know, honey.
Singer: The rain will bring
Nora: I just don't know.
Singer: The rain will bring the rain will bring the rain will bring me down
Daniel: Son? I'm sorry.
Singer: The rain will bring the rain will bring
Daniel: I'm so sorry, Riley.
Singer: The rain will bring the rain will bring me down I'll find a way, a way a way to see you again
Radio announcer: This is a WVLE newsbreak. Police have confirmed that Jennifer Rappaport, daughter of local art dealer Lindsay Rappaport, has been found dead this evening. According to District Attorney Daniel Colson, who was at the scene, it appears to have been a suicide. More details as they are made available.
Rex: That's it. I don't know what else I can tell you.
Officer: Thanks. We'll be in touch.
Officer: See you.
Natalie: Hey. Why don't we get out of here? I'm sure we could use some fresh air. Come on. Let me take you home.
Rex: That cop was asking me something about a bandanna they found in Jen’s car.
Natalie: What about it?
Rex: It was covered in blood.
Natalie: Whose blood?
Rex: That's a good question.
Natalie: So, what are you thinking?
Rex: I'm thinking what I should've known the minute I found her. Jen didn't kill herself. She was murdered.
Singer: I'll find a way to see you again.
>> On the next "One Life to Live" --
Blair: I don't know how we're going to make things better, Todd.
Todd: Maybe we're not! You look like my niece, but you're not acting like her.
Rex: You're going to give me your lousy brother's stuff now!
Daniel: She couldn't live with herself killing Paul.
Bo: How can you be so sure?
