One Life to Live Transcript Monday 2/28/05

By Suzanne

Kelly: Oh, my god. Todd! Oh, my god. We thought you were --

Todd: Thought I was dead? Sorry, not yet.

Bo: Yeah, we had teams looking for you all over the place. How'd you get out of that cabin alive?

Todd: I don't know.

Kelly: You found him?

Kevin: God's little joke, I guess.

Bo: All right, look, Viki's going crazy. Now, you got to call her.

Kevin: I did.

Bo: All right, then let's get you home.

Todd: No, no, no, we got to find Blair.

Bo: No, no. Now, every available cop's looking for her.

Todd: No, that's not going to be good enough.

Bo: We'll handle it, Manning.

Todd: Screw that. I'm going! You try to stop me.

R.J.: Hey, hey, hey. You aren't leaving, are you?

Lindsay: Well, for a minute there, I thought you were standing me up.

R.J.: Oh, well -- I'm sorry I kept you waiting. But I had a little business to take care of.

Lindsay: Everything ok?

R.J.: Oh, yes, it soon will be. A bottle of our best down here, please.

Lindsay: Are we celebrating something?

R.J.: Well, just waging a battle on the way to winning the war.

Antonio: Hey, thanks for coming.

Jessica: Hey. You know, I don't even think that I should be here.

Antonio: It's -- it's kind of important.

Jessica: Maybe we can meet somewhere else.

Antonio: It'll just be for a minute, I promise.

Jessica: Antonio, this is our home.

Antonio: It's ok. Please.

Jessica: Ok. Only for a minute, though. Jamie! Hi, sweetie! How are you?

Kelly: Are you ok?

Bo: Get an ambulance.

Todd: No. No ambulance.

Kelly: It's all right. Don't worry about it. Bo has a lead on where Blair might be.

Todd: Good. I'm going.

Bo: No, hey, you can't even stay on your feet.

Todd: No. I'm fine. But Blair isn't, so I'm going to go.

Bo: No, I'm sorry, Manning.

Kevin: Look, you can take him to the hospital, Bo. Honestly, he'll just leave. I almost had to hogtie him to get him here.

Officer: Commissioner --

Bo: Yeah?

Officer: We have more info coming in on that parking garage.

Kelly: Oh --

Kevin: See?

Kelly: Todd -- I cannot believe that you are the one who found Todd.

Kevin: And actually saved his life. How about that? Well, what was I going to do? He was half dead on the side of the road.

Kelly: Where?

Kevin: I spotted him on my way out of town.

Kelly: You were leaving town?

Kevin: Yeah, I was going up to the lodge. Needed a little time alone.

Kelly: Kevin --

Kevin: Spare me, please. You're the reason Ace is living with the Chandlers. You know what? You might be able to live with that, but I sure as hell can't.

Viki: Kevin? Where is he? Todd! Oh, my god! Oh, my god!

Todd: Hey.

Viki: Todd!

Todd: Never thought you'd see me again, huh?

Viki: Don't say that. Don't even joke about it. Good god.

Kelly: What are you two doing here?

Dorian: Viki called me.

David: We had to see the bad news for ourselves.

Dorian: Dear heaven, he really is alive.

David: Damn it!

Dorian: Ok, where is she? Where is Blair?

Todd: We're going to find her.

Dorian: So help me, if anything has happened to her --

Todd: It won't. All right? There's still time to save her.

Blair: Stop! Stop! Stop. Let me out of here. Stop.

Man: Wait, wait, wait. Kill it, now.

Blair: Stop. Please, don't crush the car! Anybody! Anybody, help me! Can you hear me?

Jessica: Look, you have ice cream on your face.

Jessica: I can't believe how big she's gotten. I mean, she was just a baby when -- when --

Antonio: When everything started going wrong.

Jessica: I can't believe how much I missed her. I didn't realize it till I saw her. I guess I was trying to force myself not to think about her.

Antonio: I never should have given her to R.J. I don't know what I was thinking. Come on. Ah!

Jessica: Listen, Antonio. You got to not be so hard on yourself. I mean, you were just doing what you thought was right for her.

Antonio: No. What's right for my daughter is this. Being home -- with me. With you --

Jessica: Antonio --

Antonio: I know. I know.

Jessica: Let's just take things one step at a time, ok? For now, let's just enjoy Jamie.

Antonio: Well, that's an easy request.

Jessica: So, you and R.J. Have worked things out? He's not going to fight you for custody?

Antonio: Well, that's what I'm hoping.

Jessica: Well, I guess so. Otherwise, he wouldn't let you take her home tonight, right?

Lindsay: You still haven't told me what we're celebrating.

R.J.: Well, when it's a done deal. And then, come home with me again and we can really celebrate.

Lindsay: The last time I came home with you, as I recall, I got into the middle of a fight between you and Antonio.

R.J.: About Jamie. Yeah, don't do that again.

Lindsay: Hopefully, you two have your issues resolved.

R.J.: You know, I think it's all going to turn out just fine. Yeah, I will be up to my elbows in toddler toys.

Lindsay: I like this side of you. After all these years, you still surprise me.

R.J.: I'm an open book.

Lindsay: Right. Yes. No.

R.J.: I am!

Lindsay: You are not -- ok, all right. Let's see -- what can we start with? How about -- your love life?

R.J.: Oh. Well, what's there to know? You know, recently, it was Evangeline. A disappointment. But there's no love lost there.

Lindsay: What about Keri's mother?

R.J.: Elizabeth?

Lindsay: Yeah, what was up with that?

Nora: That's such an interesting question for you to be asking.

Viki: No, no, no, you're not going anywhere. My god, look at you. What did that woman want from you?

Kevin: She's obviously insane.

Todd: Now, we can't let her hurt Blair, ok?

Viki: Yeah, but you're not in any shape to go anywhere.

Dorian: Oh, for goodness sake! Will you stop worrying about him, when Blair's life is at stake?

Todd: She's right.

David: Viki's got a point. Look at you. You're a mess. I'll go.

Kelly: I'll go with you.

Todd: No, you guys don't go anywhere without me.

Viki: No, you're not!

Bo: Nobody's going anywhere. I just got word. The garage where Roxy heard the voice -- there's no garage at that address.

Todd: We'll find it, then.

Bo: We've got guys looking at every garage in that whole area, but we're talking about Roxy here, you know? Man, just bad source. This could turn out to be nothing.

Todd: I don't care. Let's check it out. Let's stop wasting time.

Man: What do you want?

Second man: Do you hear something?

Blair: Ok. Please get me out of here.

Blair's voice: No, I'm not dying. Not today, not any day soon. Nothing is going to keep me from my kids.

Blair: No. No, I'm ok. I'm not going to give up. I'm going to get out of here. No -- get me out of here. Help me!

Man: Thought I heard something. I guess not. Anyway, before you tow this wreck off to the junkyard, I want my cut.

Second man: What am I, an A.T.M.?

First man: No money, no car.

[Tow truck starts]

Blair: Come on!   All right. All right. Yeah, but -- yeah, come -- come on.

Todd: Why are you so damn stubborn?

Bo: We don't have the location of the garage yet.

Todd: Well, then we go in the general direction. And your people will call us with the addresses later.

Dorian: Todd's right. We can't just stand around.

Officer: Commissioner, here are those addresses, and the garage where Roxanne Balsom's car was towed.

Bo: All right, now, let's go.

David: Bo, don't neglect to turn on your lights and your siren. I will be right behind.

Bo: Ugh.

David: This is a seminal moment for me. I'll be chasing a police car instead of it chasing me. Let's go.

Bo: All right, none of -- whoa, whoa. Cops only from now on.

Dorian: But, Bo!

Bo: Or I can lock everybody up for your own safety.

Dorian: Ugh.

Todd: Then you're going to have to lock me up, Bo, because I'm not staying here.

Bo: Cuff him.

Kevin: All right, all right, Bo, don't. Ok? Not after what he's been through. Just let him ride with you.

Todd: I can't lose her, Bo. I can't.

Bo: All right, let's go. Don't mess things up.

Duke: So, you like jazz?

Adriana: Um, I don't know that much about it. I mean, I'm mostly into classical.

Duke: Oh, yeah. Cello, right?

Adriana: Yeah. Ok, you can say it. I'm a geek.

Duke: Hey, I can't talk. I play the accordion.

Adriana: Shut up. Really?

Duke: No. But if it made you feel better, I could start.

Adriana: Well, at least you know everything they play on the campus station and at U.V.

Duke: Yeah, true, but you start talking Beethoven and Mozart, and then I'm the one that's lost.

Adriana: So what are we doing at a jazz club?

Duke: Well, apparently, trying something new. Is that ok with you?

Adriana: I'm ok with anything, as long as it's with you.

Lindsay: Don't you have anything better to do, Nora, like spend some time with your fiancÚ? Or is he too busy trying to pin a murder on my daughter?

Nora: Well, since you're so interested -- and it's nice of you to ask -- actually, I'm meeting Daniel here.

Lindsay: Oh. So he's decided to take a little time off from his smear campaign against Jen.

Nora: He's just working the case, Lindsay.

Lindsay: He's made up his mind, and you know it, Nora. And you say you care about Jen.

Nora: I do care. And for what it's worth, I don't believe that she killed Paul Cramer.

R.J.: Yeah, but your intended needs a conviction to make him look good, right?

Nora: Now, R.J., Since when have you started caring about someone else taking a rap?

R.J.: Well, I care about Lindsay, and Jennifer is her daughter. Is that enough of an answer, Madam A.D.A.?

Nora: Hmm.

Lindsay: She's all yours.

R.J.: Whoa, whoa, hold on now. What's -- what's so interesting about Liz?

Nora: Yeah, that's an excellent question. What is so interesting about Liz?

R.J.: Come on, Nora. You have something on your mind. I know you too well.

Nora: I know you very well, as well.

R.J.: Uh-huh. Out with it.

Nora: What are you doing, R.J.? Are you trying to recapture the past? Play out a little history, finding Liz in Lindsay? There are a lot of resemblances and similarities, now, aren't there?

Antonio: I'm supposed to meet with Evangeline tomorrow to talk about the situation.

Jessica: Well, I'm surprised you didn't fight for full custody.

Antonio: I'm just happy to have her here with me tonight, to be able to wake up with her tomorrow morning.

Jessica: Do you remember when we used to bring her in bed with us in the morning and play with her?

Antonio: Yeah. Yeah, I remember.

[Pounding on door]

Antonio: Who could that be?

Man: Antonio Vega, open up. We have a court order.

Antonio: What's this about?

Officer: R.J. Gannon has been awarded temporary full custody of Jamie Vega.

Antonio: What?

Officer: Don't make it hard on the child, Mr. Vega. Hand her over now.

R.J.: Elizabeth and Lindsay alike? I don't think so.

Nora: No, I -- that's my point exactly. They are not alike. Liz was nice.

R.J.: Yeah. Yeah, nice enough to keep me from even knowing I had a child. And then there's that sleeping with her daughter's fiancÚ thing.

Nora: You know, now that you bring it to my attention, there probably are more similarities there that you should be aware of.

R.J.: What, they're both white?

Nora: Hmm.

R.J.: Blonde? Nora, you should know that not all women are alike or act alike.

Nora: No, they're not. Not all white, blonde women are alike. I want you to remember that. I was merely pointing out the similarities, and I'm glad you can find the differences. R.J., You're my family. I don't want to see you get hurt again, and certainly not by her.

Lindsay: Do you mind if I have my date back?

Nora: Oh, he's all yours.

R.J.: Hmm. Thanks.

Lindsay: Well, what was that all about?

R.J.: Just Nora running her mouth. Forget about it.

Lindsay: How can I, when you obviously can't?

Antonio: So it looks like you and me aren't going to be able to hang out after all, huh? Not tonight, anyway. See these two guys over there? They're marshals of the court. They're going to take good care of you, and they're going to take you back to your Grandpa R.J. Ok? And I'm going to see you soon. I promise.

Marshal: Mr. Vega?

Antonio: I love you.

Jessica: We'll work it out.

Antonio: Damn right.

Jessica: Where are you going? Antonio?

Dorian: I cannot believe we're sitting around, depending on Todd to help us find Blair.

Kelly: Do the kids know about their dad?

Dorian: We decided not to say anything to them until there was definite word about their mother.

Kelly: I hope we hear something soon.

Dorian: It can't be soon enough.

David: Excuse me, Officer Stokes, could I make it worth your while to give me the address of that parking garage?

Ofc. Stokes: I don't take bribes.

David: Well, that's good because I don't offer bribes. I could make a donation to your children's college fund.

Viki: David, can you for once in your life behave like a grownup? We do not need this, all right? Bo will call us when he has any information.

Dorian: Of course, what do you care? You've got your precious baby brother back.

Viki: I do care! But the last thing Bo needs is any of us mucking things up.

Dorian: And Todd won't?

Viki: No!

Kevin: Back off, Dorian, all right?

David: Hey!

Dorian: A point of information -- why didn't you let Todd die by the side of the road?

Viki: And how do you think Blair would have felt had he done that, just let him die?

David: Why don't we go to our separate corners?

Kevin: Ok. Don't let her get to you, mom.

Viki: I'm sorry, I really should -- I should have gotten over it by now. I should have learned.

Kevin: Look, you've had a tough time.

Viki: Yeah, honey, well, we all have, haven't we? Including you. How are you? Are you ok?

Kevin: I'm doing ok, yeah. I mean, I don't know. You know, one minute I get ace ripped from me, the next minute Todd's laying on the side of the road.

Viki: I'm so grateful to you that you helped him.

Kevin: Well, I almost left him there, to tell you the truth.

Viki: So what changed your mind?

Kevin: Oh, I don't know -- the fact that he's a human being. Almost.

Viki: Whatever the reason, thank you so much.

Kevin: You know, Margaret Cochran really put him through hell, I tell you.

Viki: Why? What did she do to him?

Todd: She's locked Blair in the trunk of her car. She threatened to kill her if I didn't sleep with her, so I did what I had to do.

Viki: Kevin? What did Margaret Cochran do to him?

Bo: Excuse me. Are you in charge here?

Man: Who wants to know?

Bo: We're looking for a four-door sedan, light color, European make. Where is it?

Man: I don't remember any kind of car like that here.

Todd: Well, we got proof the car was here.

Bo: And unless you're looking for a whole lot of trouble, you'd better tell us where that car is and what you know about it.

Man: Look, you're too late, ok? She's gone.

Todd: Too late? What are you talking about?

Man: Like I said, the car is gone, man.

Todd: Where? Who took it?

Bo: Did this woman come and pick up that car?

Man: How should I know?

Todd: You work here, Skippy.

Man: Not 24/7, and we got a lot of cars coming in.

Bo: Yeah, but you know that this car is gone. Now, you'd better tell us what you know or I'm going to haul you in.

Todd: The hell with that.

Dorian: Look at Viki, happy as a clam.

David: I never understood that analogy. Or is it a metaphor? What's a simile?

Kelly: You know, she didn't have to get in touch with us after Kevin called.

Dorian: Oh, I forgot. Of course, you're the president of the Viki fan club. I'm astonished you haven't started a web site!

David: Come on.

Kelly: Dorian!

David: Come on.

Viki: Kevin, can't you tell me? What did Margaret do to Todd?

Kevin: You'll have to ask him yourself.

Viki: Now you're keeping his confidence?

Kevin: Well, you get stuck in a storm with someone long enough, you make all kinds of promises.

Viki: Yeah. Don't I know that.

Kevin: Besides, Todd was in a really bad place.

Viki: Not unlike you.

Kevin: Well, believe it or not, Todd actually helped me.

Dorian: Ha! Really? Now I've heard everything.

[Music plays]

Adriana: This sax part here, it -- it sounds like a woman crying.

Duke: Why would she be crying?

Adriana: I don't know. Maybe it's some distant memory that goes so far back, I can't even remember it. You know, sometimes I think I can remember my mother when I was a baby, having to give me up so my father would never find me, how sad she must've been.

Duke: Maybe that's why you and Dorian got close so quickly.

Adriana: Maybe. What about you? Do you have any memories like that?

Duke: What, of my dad?

Adriana: Mm-hmm.

Duke: No. But sometimes, back on the ranch, I would want to go out onto the porch late at night. It sounds strange, but I swear I could see the shapes of people, the people who had lived and died on that land years ago.

Adriana: Really?

Duke: Yeah. That music -- it almost sounds like their voices.

Adriana: Sounds a little creepy.

Duke: No, no, it wasn't. Actually, the ranch is really beautiful at night.

Adriana: Well, I'd love to see it.

Duke: I'd love to take you there.

Nora: Daniel, I don't know whether I'm early or you're late, but I'm already here at Capricorn, and if I were you, I'd get here soon.

R.J.: Come on, let's get out of here.

Lindsay: You're letting Nora drive you out of your own place?

R.J.: No, it's time. Jamie should be home by now, and we can let the sitter go early.

Lindsay: Where was Jamie?  [Lindsay screams]

Jessica: Antonio, stop it!

Man: Relax! Calm down!

Antonio: All right! All right, fine!

Lindsay: Are you all right?

R.J.: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Nice work, hotshot! That's going to play nice at the custody hearing!

Nora: What's going on?

R.J.: I'll tell you, I'll tell you what's going on. Antonio Vega drops his daughter off on my doorstep and doesn't come to pick her up till after Christmas!

Jessica: R.J., he was trying to protect her from the Santi family.

R.J.: Oh, shut -- will you stay out of this? You married the head of the Santi family, didn't you?

Jessica: I didn't know that Tico was as bad as he was.

R.J.: Well, what's wrong with you? Everyone else did!

Antonio: Yeah, you included. So how are you going to use that against me, R.J.?

R.J.: I don't have to use anything against you. You do it to yourself! You left the straight and narrow and dove in with the Santis!

Antonio: I was working undercover.

R.J.: That's bull. Don't rewrite history. You could've and should've just stayed out if it!

Antonio: Yeah? How was I going to do that?

R.J.: I could've thrown in with a Santi easily, but I didn't. I was thinking about Jamie.

Antonio: It was different for me.

R.J.: Oh, that's right. I forgot, you were born one of them.

Antonio: I didn't ask for that.

R.J.: Grow up, boy! Accept responsibility! You did what you did for you, all you, nobody else!

Antonio: What, you don't think I care about Jamie? You really believe it?

R.J.: Oh, sure, sure. I think you thought about her occasionally. You may even wish that you were with her, but what did you do? I was here! When she woke up from a nightmare, I was here! I rocked her back to sleep, and I'm going to be the one to make sure that you do not do to her what you did to her mother!

Antonio: What we did.

Nora: Ok, you won this round. Now, can you just cool it, R.J.?

R.J.: Well, do you think that I need to press assault charges, counselor?

Nora: Oh, come on. Come on. Calm down, for god's sake. You're playing right into his hands. Just back off and let the courts handle it.

Jessica: Listen, Antonio -- hey, we're going to get her back, ok? You'll see.

R.J.: No, no, no, not after tonight. I'm going to file for full custody, and believe me, it won't be temporary.

Bo: That's enough! You keep your hands off of him.

Man: You saw what he did to me!

Bo: I'm about to do the same thing! Now, this man's wife is locked in the trunk of a car, and I have reason to believe that it was here and you know something about it.

Man: There was somebody in the trunk? Well, I didn't know!

Bo: Yeah, but you know which car we're talking about.

Todd: Did you hear noises coming from it?

Man: I didn't hear nothing and I'm not going down for it!

Bo: You are if this woman dies! Now, tell us what you know.

Man: Nothing, I swear.

Bo: Then where's the car? If it's not here, what happened to it?

Man: It got towed.

Bo: Where?

Man: Ask my boss.

Bo: We're asking you!

Todd: You're keeping it from us, aren't you? What's in it for you?

Bo: Other than a trip to Statesville?

Man: You might try looking at the junkyard off 29.

Todd: Come on, let's go.

Bo: What aren't you telling us?

Man: That's it, I swear. And if you hurry, she won't get crushed into a tuna can tonight.

Blair: Come on. Come on, somebody, please hear me!

Blair: Hey!

Blair: No. They're going to crush the car. They're going to crush the car.

Jessica: Listen, R.J. won't get to keep her. You're her father, Antonio. You're going to win.

Antonio: How? How am I even going to fight him?

Jessica: Evangeline's the best.

Antonio: I still owe her for all the other times she repped me.

Jessica: Well, you can afford her now.

Antonio: Jess, please don't offer me any money.

Jessica: I wasn't going to. You have money. My marriage to Tico was annulled. The money automatically goes to you.

Antonio: No.

Jessica: Antonio, you need it.

Antonio: It's drug money! Blood money!

Jessica: Well, then take it and make it clean money. Use it for something good. Listen, Tico came into town and tore your life apart. Use the money to make it better. You can get your family back, Antonio. You deserve it.

Antonio: You think so?

Jessica: I know so.

Jessica: I -- I can't. I have to go.

Antonio: I'm sorry.

Jessica: I know, I know.

Antonio: Stay.

Jessica: I can't stay.

Antonio: Why not?

Jessica: I just -- I have to leave now.

R.J.: Why is this even an issue? He abandoned the girl. I don't know why he has the right to raise her.

Lindsay: I know you love her.

R.J.: I would do anything for that little girl. Anything.

Lindsay: You've proven that.

R.J.: You coming home with me?

Lindsay: I can't.

R.J.: Why not?

Lindsay: I know you want full custody of Jamie. But I'm a mother, and as a parent I also understand why Antonio did what he did. He left Jamie with you because he feared for her life.

R.J.: Well, I fear for her life now.

Lindsay: No, I don't believe that. I think this has more to do with what Liz did to you.

R.J.: I miss my daughter.

Lindsay: I know you do, and she's not here anymore. Jamie doesn't have a mother, so why not share custody and then she can have her father and her grandfather? That little girls needs both of you.

R.J.: No. No, this is completely different.

Lindsay: You're right. Completely different.

R.J.: You know, I am tired of everyone in this town thinking their life is so together that they can psychoanalyze me, because this is really simple. Keri would be here, she'd be alive, and Jamie would have a mother if I had kept Vega away from her in the first place!

Nora: Daniel, it's me again. Please call me soon because -- call me crazy, but I'm starting to worry about you.

Adriana: So, do you want to go somewhere else?

Duke: I'm thinking you want me to take you home, see if there's any news on Blair?

Adriana: My mom said she'd call. Sorry if I'm not much fun tonight.

Duke: Hey, no, no, no, no. I had a great time. But you can't help worrying about your family. I know.

Adriana: Thanks for helping me forget, even if it's just for a little while.

Duke: Yeah, sometimes we all need a break from our families.

Adriana: Oh, yeah, especially ours.

Duke: You know, if they would just stop hating each other so much for maybe one minute, they'd see that they're not so different.

Adriana: At least we see it.

Todd: Damn it, drive faster!

Bo: You want to get there in one piece?

Todd: There, right -- right up ahead. Right there. There it is. Blair's there, I can feel it.

Kelly: Kevin?

Kevin: What do you want?

Kelly: I'm sorry about Ace.

Kevin: Well, that doesn't really help, does it?

Kelly: I never dreamed that he would end up with J.R.

Kevin: Yeah, well, he did, and now he's going to be raised by the Chandlers. I can't think of anything worse. I'm not going to forgive you for that.

Viki: Dorian? Are you ok?

Dorian: My niece is locked up in a trunk somewhere. How am I supposed to be --

Viki: I know, I know, but Bo has everybody out looking for her.

Dorian: You know, this wouldn't have happened if you had let me drive that night when Margaret Cochran's car nearly ran us off the road. I would've chased that car! We would have found Blair and none of this would've happened! She would be safe now!

David: I'm not going to start a web site or anything, but I don't think you can blame Viki for all of this.

Viki: Oh, yes, she can. She always has. But you know what? If it makes you feel any better, go ahead, blame me. Whatever works for you.

Dorian: Thank you, Viki. I do blame you.

Blair: No. No. No. Don't crush me. No, please.

Bo: Manning! Manning, stay put. Manning.

Blair: Please, no! I'm in here! No! Please help me! Help me!

>> On the next "One Life to Live" --

Jessica: I prefer married men who don't like to talk at all.

Kevin: How could I love someone who is so totally incapable of love herself?

Star: Tell me where my mom and dad are.

Todd: Blair!

Blair: No, you can't crush me! No!
