John: You never fail to amaze me.

Evangeline: I just want you to know how I feel.

John: You know how I feel.

Evangeline: Do I?

John: Yeah, you do.

Evangeline: So how much of you do I get, McBain? Give me a number. What, 50%, 75%?

Marcie: Michael?

Michael: Marcie.

Marcie: Hi.

Michael: Hi. Are you -- are you okay? How are you feeling?

Marcie: Better than I thought I'd be. How long was I out?

Michael: A while. Long enough to almost miss our anniversary.

Marcie: It would've been one year. But I guess it's not really an anniversary, is it? I mean, not if we're not together.

Kelly: Hi! Hey, sweet pea!

Kevin: Hey, sorry to just drop in like this.

Kelly: No, come on in.

Kevin: All right.

Kelly: So what's going on?

Kevin: What, did you just get home or you still going through your closet?

Kelly: Oh, no, Viki wanted me to officiate L.U.'s Valentine’s Day dance until she could get there, so I'm just getting back.

Kevin: I got you. Well, I'm sorry to drop in, but he was a little restless, so I took him for a drive, you know, to settle him down.

Kelly: He seems to be doing okay now.

Kevin: Yeah, yeah, he's doing better. I just thought he might like to see you.

Kelly: What about you? I guess I'm not the only one feeling a little lonely tonight, huh?

Adriana: Hey.

Duke: Hey, you made it!

Adriana: Happy Valentine’s Day.

Duke: Something wrong?

Adriana: Do you mind if I talk to my brother for a minute?

Duke: Sure, no, go ahead, but then I need to talk to you about something.

Adriana: Sounds serious.

Duke: Hmm, it is.

Adriana: Good news?

Antonio: Jess is actually going to stop by.

Adriana: That's great.

Antonio: Yeah.

Adriana: I'm happy for you.

Antonio: Thank you. But it doesn't actually give me much time.

Adriana: Much time for what?

Antonio: Well, for my other girlfriend.

Adriana: Your other girlfriend?

[Glass breaks]

Jessica: Natalie. Are you all right?

Natalie: I am absolutely perfect.

Jessica: What happened?

Natalie: I went out partying. Except everybody else was partying with somebody else, and so I had a party for the two of us, except for it was just me.

Natalie: I guess love is just not in the plan for me. I mean, at least not with Cristian, anyway, and anybody else.

John: Can't do the math on something like that. There's no number on what someone can give someone else.

Evangeline: So much for my attempt at humor.

John: That's not a joke. You deserve 100%.

Evangeline: And I'm not one to settle for less.

John: It's just who I am, you know? You know, I can say all the nice words, I can say what you want to hear, but that's just not me. I'll give you all that I am. The question is, is that enough?

Nora: Hi. Marianne just called. Matthew's got a fever.

Bo: Well, I'll go. You and Daniel have plans.

Nora: No, no, not anymore. No, besides, I know you and Paige were planning on getting together tonight, so don't worry about it, all right?

Bo: What can we do for you?

Rex: I'm here to see Daniel Colson. Is he here?

Nora: No. Why?

Rex: I don't trust him.

Nora: For what?

Rex: Not to tell his kid Riley or Jen what I'm here to say.

Bo: Say about what?

Rex: I know who killed Paul Cramer.

[Knock on door]

R.J.: Ahem. What do you want?

Antonio: I want my daughter.

R.J.: At this hour? I don't think so.

Antonio: R.J., you can't keep her away from me. I have custody.

R.J.: We have joint custody, and that is about to change.

Antonio: Well, it hasn't yet. I want to see my daughter.

Lindsay: Um, can I talk to you for just a minute? Hi. Over here. Don't do this.

R.J.: Lindsay, stay out of this.

Lindsay: I'll stay out of it, but I want you to think about something first. Your daughter was kept from you, so she grew up without her father.

R.J.: Mm-hmm.

Lindsay: Don't let the same thing happen to Jamie.

Natalie: Why are you doing this to me? My God, why -- why did you have to take him away twice? Hey, come on. Did I do something? Did I -- did I -- is this a lesson I'm supposed to be learning? Because I'm telling you, I don't get it. I don't get it, I don't get it.

Jessica: Natalie, hey, it's cold out here. Here. Come on, let's go inside.

Natalie: Do me a favor, okay? Next time I tell you I want to fall for someone, just please, please, please send me to my room, lock me up, send me to the moon --

Jessica: Okay.

Natalie: I don't care, just stop me.

Jessica: Okay, well, let's go inside, okay? Come on.

jessica: Shh. Did you hear that?

Natalie: Hear what?

Jessica: That sounded like footsteps.

Natalie: I don't hear anything.

Jessica: Maybe it's my --

Natalie: Your stalker? Jess, honey, he's gone. He's locked up in prison for the rest of his miserable life.

Jessica: Listen, okay, the guy pretending to be Cristian might be locked up, but my stalker isn't.

John: Look; I know I can be a pain in the ass, a workaholic, hardheaded.

Evangeline: Hmm.

John: Not unlike someone else I know.

Evangeline: You can't be talking about me.

John: You saying I'm wrong?

Evangeline: Okay. Okay, I can be all those things, except for I'm not guarded like you. I don't keep you in the dark about things that are close to me.

John: You really are Cristian Vega.

Evangeline: You know what? I'm staying. Because I know you'll tell me when you're ready.

[Music plays]

Kelly: Ace loves this song. I think it's his favorite.

Kevin: Oh, yeah? I think it's your favorite.

Kelly: You remember?

Kevin: Of course I remember. Who's the one that got you the backstage passes to the concert?

Kelly: Oh, yeah. God, that was a great night.

Kevin: That was fun.

Kelly: I loved it. Well, looks like it still works.

Kevin: Yeah. The question is, does it still work for you?

Kelly: Okay, uh, when are we going to stop avoiding the big elephant in the room?

Kevin: The big elephant? Which one are you talking about? The custody case or the fact that I miss you?

Adriana: So what's going on?

Duke: Well, you know ace's custody hearing's coming up, right?

Adriana: Yes. It's the major topic of discussion in our house.

Duke: Yeah, same here. Your mom and my dad are probably going to try to make us take sides, my family against yours.

Adriana: That doesn't mean it has to be you against me.

Duke: Yeah, but it's not going to be that easy.

Adriana: Look, I'm not my mom, you're not your dad. If they don't like it, it's their problem.

Duke: You are something else, you know that?

Adriana: Is that a good thing?

Duke: Very good. Now, hold on a second.

Adriana: Where you going?

Duke: I need to take care of something. Don't worry, you'll like it -- I hope.

Marcie: Thank you, Doctor, for everything you've done for me.

Paige: Are you kidding me? It's patients like you that make me look good.

Marcie: If it wasn't for Michael, I wouldn't even be here. I know that he wasn't supposed to treat me, but he saved my life. You know, if he wasn't at this accident -- you think maybe you could put in a word for him with the board?

Paige: You know, Marcie, I'm not even sure that that would matter anymore.

Marcie: What do you mean? Dr. Miller, if something else is going on with Michael, you have to tell me what it is.

Paige: Apparently, Michael got into an argument with your agent.

Marcie: Okay.

Paige: He assaulted him.

Hayes: Marcie is in bad shape. You know, there's no way she's going to make the book party tomorrow. But this could be good news.

Man: How do you figure?

Hayes: Well, we'll play it up. You know, a first-time novelist mowed down by a hit-and-run driver, hovering between life and death. This is a story in and of itself. You know, we'll get a picture of her on life-support and plaster it all over the ads. You know, people are going to eat this up.

Man: What if she's actually well enough by tomorrow?

Hayes: Well, we don't want her to get well too soon, do we? You know, the longer she stays in there, the better it is for her.

Man: Yeah, and the better for our book sales.

Hayes: Come on.

Marcie: Michael wouldn't just assault somebody, you know? I mean, Hayes probably provoked him somehow. He probably -- he can get really pushy sometimes.

Paige: I don't know, Marcie. I don't know all of the details. What I do know is that I'm working on getting you better, okay?

Marcie: Okay.

Paige: And the sooner we get you out of bed and walking around on your feet, the faster your recovery.

Marcie: Okay.

Michael: Fast enough to make her book party tomorrow?

Bo: Okay, who killed Paul Cramer?

Rex: The same person who wrote me that note, the same person who gave me 10 grand to hide the gun in Dorian Lord's office.

Nora: And that would be?

Rex: You haven't figured it out yet?

Bo: Oh, stop wasting our time, Balsom.

Nora: Why are you really here?

Rex: I'm just trying to help.

Bo: Help? Help yourself or help Lindsay?

Rex: Why would I be helping Lindsay?

Bo: Well, she hired that expensive lawyer for you, didn't she?

Rex: What makes you think so?

Bo: You're broke and she's not.

Rex: Okay. So Lindsay’s footing the bill. So what?

Nora: Okay, why, because she asked you to hide the gun for her?

Rex: I never said that.

Nora: You haven't said anything! Why are you here?

Bo: We know it's not to pick up points to earn a merit badge for good citizenship.

Rex: She swore to me she didn't write that note.

Nora: And you believe her because?

Rex: Okay, look, I know you two aren't best buds, but she wouldn't lie to me.

Nora: She lies to everybody she comes in contact with. Why are you any different?

R.J.: Lindsay, stay out of this.

Lindsay: Oh, I'd like to, I would really like to, but don't forget I'm a mother myself, so I can't. And believe me, I understand. There were times that I wanted to get back at Sam so bad, I thought about trying to turn the kids against him, but really in the end, who would suffer worse, Sam or the kids?

R.J.: It's different. Sam did not abandon Jennifer.

Antonio: And I didn't abandon Jamie.

R.J.: Of course you did. What do you call it, hmm, hiatus? You up and left her.

Lindsay: Because he didn't think he would be a good father for her at the time. I understand that kind of sacrifice. I do!

R.J.: Sacrifice? It's selfishness, and I don't understand it.

Lindsay: Yes, you do, because your daughter was kept from you because her mother didn't think that you would be a good father, just like you don't think Antonio would be a good father, and she was wrong and you're wrong. Can we just put this aside, just for tonight, and think about this little girl?

Rex: Okay, you know what -- I came here to help, but you don't want it, so I'm gone.

Bo: Not for long, though. You know, you still have your hearing coming up for evidence tampering. Now, you tell us what you know about Lindsay, you could walk clean on that. Did Lindsay kill Paul Cramer?

Paige: There's nothing more that I would like than to release Marcie in time for her book party, but I just don't see --

Marcie: Why? I thought you said I was getting better.

Michael: Yeah, her numbers look really good. I mean, she can handle it.

Paige: You know what -- I'm going to talk to your dad about it first, all right?

Marcie: Okay.

Paige: All right. Excuse me.

Michael: See you.

Marcie: Bye. You don't really think that I can make it to this party, do you?

Michael: You don't really want to miss the most important day of your life, do you?

Marcie: No, but you're usually so overprotective. I don't understand.

Michael: Yeah, well, I'm not being overprotective now, so let's get you up and out of here.

Marcie: No. Not until you tell me what's going on.

Paige: Marcie is definitely out of the woods.

Mr. Walsh: Thank you, Doctor, for everything you did for my little girl.

Ron: So when do you think she can get out of here?

Paige: Well, I'm thinking about releasing her tomorrow morning.

Mr. Walsh: Isn't that a little soon?

Ron: Well, come on, Pop, that means she can make her book party, and you know what a big deal it is to her, right?

Mr. Walsh: I guess, if the doctor thinks it's okay.

Paige: Yeah, you know what -- I'm going to let you tell her yourself, all right?

Ron: Marcie's going to be stoked. Come on.

Hayes: Excuse me. I'm sorry. I couldn't help overhearing what the doctor was saying about letting Marcie out tomorrow. Mr. Walsh, you're not honestly considering letting her do that, are you?

Daniel: If the commissioner here offered you a deal, I'm okay with that. Just tell us what you know and we'll scrub your record clean.

Rex: All I have to do is sell out Lindsay.

Nora: Just tell us the truth, Rex.

Rex: I'm not going to tell you I think Lindsay offed Paul Cramer.

Bo: She had means and motive.

Rex: So did half of Llanview. When you throw in Pine Valley --

Nora: Everyone else has been accounted for, including you. Not Lindsay, though.

Bo: Or Jen.

Rex: Leave Jen out of it, okay?

Bo: Can’t. Even if Jen didn't do it, she could be part of it if Lindsay killed Cramer to protect Jen.

Nora: One of the strongest motivations there is -- parent protecting a child.

Daniel: If you're protecting Lindsay and we find out about it, any deal we may cut with you is off.

Rex: Okay, you know, I don't need any deals from you. My lawyer's got it covered. I just came to see if you're on to who might have set me up. But you're not, so I'm gone.

Nora: What just happened here?

Bo: I don't know, but he's got something going on.

Nora: He thinks Lindsay did it.

Daniel: Or he wants us to believe that so Jen doesn't go down for it.

[Phone rings]

Nora: Buchanan. Yes, Marianne. I'll be right there. Matthew's fever spiked to 104.

Bo: I'm going, too.

Nora: Bye.

R.J.: Okay, you have got five minutes, and that's all.

Antonio: I need longer than that.

R.J.: It's late and it's past her bedtime. Children need structure and constancy. I'm sure you don't know anything about that.

Antonio: I got something for you. Look. Hmm? Okay. It's a Valentine’s Day gift from Papa.

R.J.: She already has one of those.

Lindsay: Let's go pick out a book to read to her later, shall we?

Antonio: Mira aca. I missed you so much. You know that? Oh, you're getting so big and heavy. Yeah. I just came by to say Happy Valentine’s Day. Come here. I know it's been a long time. You forget what I feel like, huh? Hmm. I used to do the same thing when I was a baby. I used to be restless just like you. I just wanted to tell you I loved you. Okay? I'm going to take you home soon, I promise.

Man: What you heard was probably a raccoon or some animal.

Jessica: Okay. Okay, thanks so much for checking.

Natalie: So now you think you might tell me why you think your stalker's still around?

Jessica: Natalie, I'm just paranoid.

Natalie: No, you're more than paranoid. You were really scared.

Jessica: Can we just not talk about this, okay?

Natalie: Sure. Fine, yeah. I mean, I'd just like to know. I mean, I do live here, too.

Jessica: Okay. If you're creeped out about it, then I'll just cancel with my plans with Antonio.

Natalie: No. No, no, don't do that. I mean, hey, that security guard looks pretty cute, yeah? I'm kidding! I'm kidding! You need some time alone with Antonio. And look, you're wearing the necklace that he got you.

Jessica: I know, I thought it might be a good icebreaker.

Natalie: He still loves you, Jess.

Jessica: Yeah, well, we have a long way to go if we are ever going to get back together.

Natalie: Well, then what are you waiting for? Get up. Come on; get up. Get ready! Go!

Jessica: What about you? Are you going to be okay here alone? Should I -- do you want to call John?

Natalie: You know, last time I saw John, he was having some serious face time with Evangeline.

Jessica: Natalie, he is your friend, okay? He'll help you if you ask him.

Natalie: I just have to stop being so needy.

Jessica: I just -- I don't feel right about leaving you.

Natalie: I'm fine. Go. I'm fine.

Jessica: Listen; don't be so stubborn, okay? Never worked for me.

Natalie: Okay.

Jessica: Call John.

Natalie: Hmm.

Evangeline: This we've never had a problem with.

John: No. But there's more to it than this, and I'm sorry if I ever made you feel that.

Evangeline: Maybe I'm just over-thinking it.

John: Yeah, well, that's what I get for getting involved with someone with a Master's degree. Big smarty pants. Me, a community college guy, going out with someone who has a Master's degree. Hmm.

Evangeline: Whatever. It's just everything's been so insane lately with Cristian coming back and Natalie leaning on you -- what was that for?

John: I don't want to talk about Cristian or Natalie or anyone else, anyone but you.

[Phone rings]

Evangeline: It's okay, John. You can answer it.

Evangeline: Is it Natalie?

John: Yeah, it's Natalie.

Michael: Yep, you are definitely on the mend, and by tomorrow, you'll be ready to party.

Marcie: Michael, stop avoiding the subject.

Michael: I'm not.

Marcie: Yes, you are. Why is it so important to you that I go to this party?

Michael: Because it's important to you.

Marcie: More important than my health?

Michael: Marcie, do you really think that I would send you packing before you were ready?

Marcie: No, but usually you would make me stay here a lot longer than I needed to, and you know I'm right. And you know what, you might as well just tell me what it is before I -- I'm not going to stop bugging you.

Michael: Okay, all right.

Marcie: So just tell me what it is, okay?

Michael: Okay. Okay. I overheard Hayes and your publicist, what's-his-name, talking.

Marcie: Yeah?

Michael: They were saying that they don't want you to get out of the hospital. They want you to miss your party.

Marcie: Why?

Michael: So they can cash in on your accident.

Marcie: What?

Hayes: You think I want Marcie to miss her publishing party? I'm her agent, for God's sakes. There's nothing I want or need more than for her to be there -- no, except for her recovery. That's my biggest concern right now.

Mr. Walsh: Why would her doctor say she's okay if she isn't?

Hayes: Michael has been pressing them. I overheard him harassing her doctor about it.

Ron: No, Dr. Miller wouldn't do it if she didn't think Marcie was ready.

Hayes: You're probably right, Ron. You know, but, God, if she were my sister or my daughter, I just -- I wouldn't want to take any chances.

Paige: Hey. Did you give Marcie the good news?

Mr. Walsh: I've changed my mind. I don't want Marcie leaving the hospital yet.

Nora: You cooling down any, Honey?

Matthew: I'm still so hot.

Bo: Hey, but you'll feel better. You've got to. Your birthday party, it's next week. You don't want to miss it. I don’t. A whole day of laser tag? I mean, it doesn't get any better than that.

Nora: Hmm? I think someone's feeling better already.

Bo: I called Dr. Miller. She's going to come by and see you.

Nora: Oh, well, see? Now, maybe she'll come by and bring you something that'll make you feel better, and then you can sleep.

Matthew: Can you stay, Dad?

Bo: I'm not going anywhere.

Antonio: She is my daughter, R.J., and I am going to take her back.

R.J.: Not if I have anything to say about it.

Antonio: According to the custody agreement, if I called the police right now, they'd come and take her away.

R.J.: But you won't, because that would be ugly and wrong, and that is not what you want for your daughter.

Antonio: It doesn't necessarily have to go that way. But you're right; I don't want to upset her.

R.J.: Any more than you already have.

Lindsay: Oh, you know what -- you two have to stop this or you are going to upset her.

Antonio: Hey. We are going to be a family again, I promise.

R.J.: Hey, girl. Hold on to it. There you go.

Antonio: Happy Valentine’s Day.

Lindsay: I --

R.J.: No. No. Under no circumstances are we going to discuss this. Come along. Let's get you in bed.

Natalie: John, please answer your phone.

[Phone rings]

Evangeline: You know what? John, you should just answer it. Really. Could be important.

[Ringing stops]

Natalie: Voicemail, again. Why isn't he answering?

Cristian: I know that you read what I wrote about you, how I feel about you. I know I haven't known you that long, but I did love you. I still do.

Evangeline: You know, I appreciate you putting me first and everything, but are you sure you don't want to call her back?

John: I can't help her with her problems.

Evangeline: She seems to think you can.

Cristian: Don't you get it? It doesn't matter what the D.N.A. says or what my real name is. I'm a convicted murderer! If Natalie finds out who I really am, she'll waste her whole life waiting for me to get out of prison, which will probably never happen!

John: That should be her call, not yours.

Cristian: What kind of life is that for her, huh? She's better off thinking that the guy she loves is dead and buried.

John: Well, she's wrong. There's nothing I can do for her. But you I think I can help.

Paige: Ah. You've got a pretty nasty throat in there, mister. Okay, I'm going to give you some medicine that'll make you feel much better, all right? Here's an antibiotic I've brought. You can go ahead and get him started on that, and then I'll call in a prescription.

Nora: Anything more that we should be doing?

Paige: No, no, everything you're doing is great. Lots of cool towels and T.L.C.

Bo: Well, we got plenty of that.

Nora: Thank you so much, Paige, for dropping everything like this and coming.

Paige: That's okay. This guy's kind of special to me.

Nora: Bye-bye.

Paige: Bye.

Bo: I'm sorry about our night.

Paige: I know. I'll call and I'll cancel everything. But you know what?

Bo: Hmm?

Paige: You're going to make it up to me.

Paige: Bye-bye.

Bo: Bye.

Daniel: Hey, Nora, I should get going, too. I'll call you later.

Nora: Okay. Bye.

Rex: Happy Valentine’s Day.

Natalie: Put that back on the table you got it from.

Rex: What, you don't think I'd pop for a Valentine for my sis?

Natalie: Not unless you popped for the whole place. So what are you doing here alone, anyway? All your skanks leave town?

Rex: Not my style anymore.

Natalie: Oh, right, because your number one skank, Jen, dumped you, huh?

Rex: Hey, whoa, whoa, hey, that's my ex you're talking about.

Natalie: You wish. When are you going to give up on her, anyway?

Rex: I don't know, some people, they get in your system, you know?

Natalie: Tell me about it.

Rex: Oh, you don't have it for that Cristian poseur, do you?

Natalie: Not him.

Rex: Nothing like the real thing. Bites when you can't have it, doesn't it?

Kelly: Well, he's out.

Kevin: Are you going to answer my question?

Kelly: Sometimes I miss what we had.

Kevin: Well, it's more than sometimes for me. It's a lot lately.

Kelly: Kevin --

Kevin: Look, I know that I've been a jerk, okay, and I'm trying to fix that, I am, if you'd just give me a chance.

Kelly: You don't want me to testify for Babe Chandler at the custody hearing.

Kevin: No, it's more than that, Kelly.

Kelly: So you still want me back even if I help Babe get Ace?

Kevin: What happens if I get him? Hmm? Ace is going to need you. So will I.

Antonio: Hey, what happened to Duke?

Adriana: He told me to wait here for him. He said he had a surprise.

Antonio: Oh, well, then maybe I should excuse myself.

Adriana: Jessica's not here yet?

Antonio: Nah, maybe she changed her mind.

Adriana: Give it a little more time.

[Music plays]

Duke: Adriana, Happy Valentine’s Day.

Duke: Looking in your eyes seeing all I need everything you are is everything to me and these are the moments I know heaven must exist and these are the moments I know all I need is this I have all I've waited for and I could not ask for more I could not ask for more than this time together could not ask for more than this time with you and every prayer has been answered and every dream has come true yeah, right here in this moment is right where I'm meant to be oh, here with you here with me oh

Jessica: Hello? Goodbye!

Mr. Walsh: That book party's not as important as your health.

Marcie: I know, Dad.

Ron: And we'll let Jerry and Eric know, okay?

Marcie: Okay.

Mr. Walsh: Bye-bye, Sweetie.

Marcie: Bye, Daddy. Bye.

Michael: I can always spring you.

Marcie: You know, I don't want to worry my dad any more than he already is. He's been through enough.

Michael: Yeah. Hayes probably already got to him.

Marcie: Maybe he's right, Michael. You know, maybe my book will sell more with the whole sympathy angle, sell better.

Michael: Your book is going to sell because it's great. You don't need some stupid publicity stunt. So come on, let's get you up and out of here.

Marcie: Oh, I don't want to get you into any more trouble.

Michael: Screw that! Let's go to this party and prove Hayes wrong.

Nora: You know, I don't think we need it. His fever's broken.

Bo: Hey! Way to go, bud! You feeling better?

Nora: Oh, I get the hint. You go ahead and go to sleep.

Bo: Yeah, and we'll be right here all night in case you need us.

Nora: You know, I think it's okay. If you want to go salvage your plans with Paige, go right ahead.

Bo: I'm going to stay, you know, just in case. Want to call Daniel, have him come down?

Nora: No, that's okay.

Bo: Not much of a Valentine's Day for you.

Nora: I don't know, it turned out to be a pretty good one.

Bo: Yeah. For me, too.

Natalie: Look, Jess said she'll be here. She's coming.

Antonio: Then what's keeping her?

Bartender: This is from the gentleman over there.

Rex: Hey, want to throw some darts? You're always looking to spear something.

Natalie: I don't think my aim's that good tonight. I'll probably poke someone's eye out.

Rex: Suit yourself. Just thought it might take your mind off whatever.

Natalie: And yours off Jen?

Rex: Unless, of course, what's on your mind is John McBain. Then, of course, a game of darts isn't going to work.

Natalie: I got to make a call. Excuse me a minute.

Natalie: His voicemail again. Hey, John, it's Natalie. Give me a call. Listen, I just wanted to say I'm okay, and thank you for all you did with the whole Cristian thing. Looks like you were right. You always are. Thanks again. Bye.

Evangeline: Valentine's Day came out all right after all.

John: Yeah, it did.

Evangeline: Okay.

John: Love 'em and leave 'em, huh? I feel so cheap.

Evangeline: I'm just getting a drink.

John: Yeah?

[Phone beeps]

Evangeline: That's pretty persistent.

Evangeline: Maybe it is important. It's okay, John. As long as I know you don't want to answer it, I'm cool. Pick it up.

John: You know, usually, they have to get drunk before they get into bed.

[Voicemail beeps]

Natalie’s voice: Hey, John, it's Natalie. Give me a call. Listen, I just wanted to say I'm okay, and thank you for all you did with the whole Cristian thing. Looks like you were right. You always are. Thanks again. Bye.

Cristian: So you're going to do what I asked? You going to keep quiet?

John: Natalie won't find out from me that you're really Cristian Vega.

Cristian: You made the right decision. You'll see.

Evangeline: Here we go.

Evangeline: Is everything okay?

John: Everything is definitely okay. As long as I'm with you.
