Kevin: Don't worry, Ace, I'll find you. When i do, whoever took you is going to wish they were never born.
Kelly: I don't know. She called less than a half an hour ago. What do you mean you can't trace the call? Yes, of course I tried star-69! Never mind. Thank you.
Krystal's voice: Don't worry. Ace is ok.
Kelly: I know that voice. I know that voice, that voice. She came to Dorian's house. She was -- she was at the coffee shop. It's that woman! Oh, my god! Ok, what's her name, what's her name? Her name is -- her name is -- is Carey, is Catherine. What -- god, what's her name?
Michael: Birthday dinner, take two?
Marcie: I'm glad we made up.
Michael: Yeah, well, you know, you drive me crazy sometimes, but I still love you.
Marcie: Yeah, I love you, too, even though you drive me crazy. But I guess the people that love you the best know how to drive you insane the best, right?
Michael: Yeah, I guess you're right.
Marcie: Thank you for giving me another chance.
Michael: Well, I had to. I didn't get a chance to give you your present.
Marcie: I get a present? Where is it?
Michael: Well, I was thinking that maybe we should try and make it through dessert without breaking up first.
Marcie: Not a chance. Oh, listen, hey, I figured out how to change chapter eight today.
Michael: Well, I'm so happy for you, sweetie. You know, I'm a little bummed out that you didn't get a chance to meet that literary agent. You know, the guy really liked the first two chapters.
Marcie: Yeah, well, I guess he didn't like chapter three, you know, which is probably why he just checked out of the hospital early.
Michael: You know, I don't think that that's the truth.
Marcie: It really doesn't matter because I wouldn't change last night for anything. Hayes Barber. It's a perfect name for an agent. You know, he sounds like a slick, greedy, bloodsucking parasite.
Man: You must be Marcie Walsh.
Marcie: Yes. I'm sorry, do I know you?
Man: Hayes Barber. "Slick, greedy, bloodsucking parasite"? At your service.
Dorian: David! What took you so long?
David: Well, frankly, I was in shock. You've never spent a whole day at the office before.
Dorian: This is serious.
Dorian: The police have subpoenaed my gun, the registered one. What did you do with it?
David: Oh, let's see. The registered gun I dismantled and threw in the river, and the unregistered one from your safe I did the same thing to.
Dorian: David, what would make you do such a thing?
David: Well, in case you haven't noticed, I've been running around town trying to erase any trace of Paul Cramer. Thanks to me, whoever killed him has nothing to worry about.
Natalie: Ok, it's ok. It's ok, it's ok. As soon as john gets here, I'm just going to tell him what happened the night that Paul died.
Natalie: It's going to be fine.
Natalie: It's kind of weird. I just feel like someone's been watching me all night.
John: Yeah? Let me check it out. Here?
Natalie: Wait, you know what, it's ok, don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. Paul -- Paul's dead now. Nobody can hurt us, so I don't know what I'm thinking.
John: Ok. You said when you called you wanted to tell me what happened the night Paul disappeared. I'm here. But I got to warn you, Natalie, you shouldn't say anything without your lawyer present.
Natalie: Look, I just want to get this over with before I lose my nerve, ok?
John: Look, I -- I really think we should get Evangeline involved.
Natalie: No, I don't want her here, ok? I'm innocent. I didn't kill anyone.
Dorian: I told you at the palace, I didn't kill anyone.
David: Hey, I'm not complaining. I'm impressed you have the guts to wipe that scum off the planet.
Dorian: David, I didn't kill Paul! I am not now, nor have I ever been a murderer. No, don't go there. And honestly, I am sick and tired of trying to convince you of that. I mean, the only person I really need to convince is john McBain. But thanks to you, you -- you got rid of the gun and the body, and now I can't do that!
David: Sorry. Go.
Kelly: Don't say my name. Are you with Dorian?
David: That's right. What can I do for you?
Kelly: I need to see you right away. It has to do with ace.
David: I'll, uh -- I'll be right there. I got to go to the office. There's a layout problem. It's apparently catastrophic.
Dorian: Hmm. Well, sometimes I regret forcing you to get a job.
David: No, you don't, and neither do I. Listen to me, don't worry. No one's going to find Paul's body. I made sure of that.
Sonia: I know you don't want to hear what I have to say, but I can't let this go without warning you.
Sonia: You're in over your head, Jessica. I'm concerned for your safety.
Jessica: Are you telling me this out of the kindness of your heart?
Sonia: No, I'm doing it as my duty as a federal agent for the I.N.L.
Dorian: If Lieutenant McBain calls again, tell him I'm in a meeting.
Viki: Are you avoiding the police for any particular reason?
Jessica: The I.N.L.?
Sonia: International Narcotics and Law enforcement agency. I've been undercover with the Santiís for years investigating El Tiburon.
Jessica: So that's why Antonio got involved with you right off the bat.
Sonia: Jessica, these people are deadly. That means the deeper you investigate, the more your life is in danger, ok? So no more articles, no more questions about Tico's dead fiancťe, ok? It's got to stop.
Jessica: Whoa, Sonia, it doesn't "got to stop." You have to tell me. I mean, Tico swore to me that he was nothing like his father. If Iíd have known, I would never have married him. You have to tell me, Sonia. Listen, if Tico is el Tiburon, then our marriage has been a lie right from the start, and that means that my vows that I took mean nothing.
Sonia: Tico is dangerous. Don't cross him. And if you do, don't let him catch you.
Jessica: Sonia? I misjudged you, and Iím sorry.
Sonia: I'm just doing my job.
Kevin: What's so urgent that you had to see me tonight?
Tico: Todd Manningís story about the mishandling of federal relief funds is only the beginning. Brooks is out of control, and if he chooses not to resign, well, we may have to resolve the situation some other way.
Kevin: Uh --
Adriana: Hi. I'm sorry to bother -- Tico!
Adriana: Hi! Oh, how are you? Mr. Buchanan, I got a message this morning. It was kind of staticky, but I think it was Duke saying that he was at the airport. Did he come home?
Kevin: I haven't heard from Duke since election night. As far as I know, he's with his mother in Texas.
Adriana: I'm so glad you're back!
Duke: What a great homecoming. Hey, dad.
Viki: I must say, I'm actually very surprised to find you in your office. According to several board members, you're never here.
Dorian: I have been doing an awful lot of off-site fundraising, and my office is being painted. I wouldn't be a very good chief of staff if I let the hospital go bankrupt, would I?
Viki: Really? Well, I didn't come here to discuss your work ethic. It would be a very short conversation, anyway. Natalie was brought in by the police for questioning in Paul Cramerís death.
Dorian: Oh? Please, sit down. My, that is awful news, Viki. But then again, Natalie always has been a bit of a wild child, hasn't she?
Viki: Oh, for heaven's sakes, Natalie didn't kill anyone.
Dorian: Then Iím sure that john McBain will give her the benefit of the doubt. So, Viki, what do you want from me?
Viki: I want to know if you killed Paul Cramer, because I am not about to let Natalie take the fall for something you did.
John: You sure? She can be here in a few minutes.
Natalie: Hey, listen, please, I don't want her here, ok? I have nothing to hide. I'm -- Iím more concerned about how you're going to look at me, and maybe you'll think less of me when you know what happened.
John: That's not going to happen, ok? Just be honest. Tell me the truth.
Natalie: Paul, um, was kind of being more and more like a stalker, and he wouldn't leave me alone. So Kevin -- Kevin bought him a plane ticket to leave town, and I just -- I wanted to make sure he was going to leave for good, so i went to his motel room.
Paul: I knew you couldn't stay away.
Natalie: Everyone told me that he was so awful. Why couldn't I have just listened?
John: None of that matters now. Paul's dead.
Natalie: Listen, I wanted him gone. I didn't want him -- not like that.
John: Tell me what happened when you got to the motel.
Paul: I think you should stay here with me tonight.
Natalie: I, uh -- I waited for him to get into the shower and I pulled his gun on him.
Paul: Have you pulled my clothes, too, huh?
Natalie: Just shut up and finish packing. I sat there all night and I kept the gun pointed at him just in case he did anything, but all he did was talk all night till it was time to leave.
Paul: Do i have to go to the airport in a towel, or you going to let me change, huh?
Natalie: No, no, go ahead. Go ahead and change. Not in the bathroom, though, because I got to keep my eyes on you. You might crawl out through the window. He just made me so angry.
John: What happened after that? How'd you get beaten up?
Natalie: Then we started fighting. I mean, it just -- it just happened all of a sudden. We were leaving, and I had to put my -- my shoes on. I took my shoes off. I bent down -- I was stupid. I bent down and I wasn't paying attention, and he turned around and he came after me. He tried to get the gun away from me, and he slammed me up against the dresser. No! No! He kept pushing me.
Paul: You like it rough, don't you?
Natalie: And I scratched him. I tried to escape. I ran at the door, but --
Paul: No way.
Natalie: He grabbed a hold of me.
Paul: You want to play rough? That's fine. I can do that. Huh?
Natalie: And then -- and then he --
Paul: Come here. You used to love it when I did this.
Natalie: Get off me!
Paul: Shut up! Remember when I did this to you, baby?
John: Are you telling me Cramer raped you?
Tico: Adriana, Iím on my way out, actually. May I have a word with you?
Adriana: Oh, sure. I'll be right back.
Tico: Hey, good to see you.
Duke: I saw you and Kelly on TV. I'm so sorry about Ace. The police are going to find him. It's going to be ok, dad.
Tico: You seem happy to see Duke back.
Adriana: It's nice to have some good news for a change, with ace being kidnapped and Paul probably being dead. Mom was at the police station last night being questioned. It's just -- lately it seems like the only people I can trust are duke and you.
Tico: And Jessica.
David: What's going on?
Kelly: Oh. I got a call from this woman with a southern accent. She said not to worry, that Ace was ok.
David: What, that's it? That could've just been a prank.
Kelly: No, no, no, it wasnít. I've heard this woman before. I've heard her voice. She even came to the house. I tried to remember her name. It's Carey or --
David: Well, hold on, hold on. Did you hear anything else? Was there any background noise or anything like that?
Kelly: No, wait a minute, I've been going through these papers. I took them from Paulís hotel room before he disappeared, and I found this piece of paper and it has "Krystal" on it. Krystal could be her name.
David: "Krystal, P. Valley." Pine valley?
Kelly: I don't know. Paul did a lot of work in pine valley. What are you doing?
David: Well, one of the perks of running a really cool magazine is I have hundreds of mailing lists at my fingertips. All we have to do is punch in "Krystal" with a k and "pine valley."
David: Don't worry. We'll find this Krystal and, when we do, we'll find Ace.
Dorian: Unlike some people, I don't go around trying to kill members of my own family.
Viki: Dorian, you told me yourself that you cut Paul off without a second thought. You told me that you had "seen to it" that he would never bother Kelly again. You told me that he was gone forever.
Dorian: Yes. Yes, indeed, I did say all of that. However, it is a far cry from murder.
Viki: Yeah, well, I don't think so. I think you know an awful lot more about Paulís death than you are letting on.
Dorian: Based on what? The police haven't even found a body. For all we know, Paul could be boogie-boarding in Maui by now.
Viki: Well, that's not true, and you know it.
Dorian: All right, fine, it doesn't matter what i believe. The police haven't got a corpse, so they cannot accuse anyone of murder.
Viki: There will be a corpse because they're looking for the body as we speak.
Dorian: Well, they're wasting their time. They should be looking for ace.
Viki: Why are they wasting their time, Dorian? Are you saying the body won't be found?
Dorian: Stop trying to twist my words!
Viki: Oh, for heaven's sakes, I know you and i know that you are hiding something.
Dorian: Fine. Just to get you off my back, I will tell you everything that i know about Paulís disappearance, but you're not going to like it.
John: Hey, you can tell me. All right? Did Cramer --
Natalie: No. No, no, no. He didn't rape me, but, um -- but he tried to. And I fought him. I fought him back pretty hard, and I guess I made him mad because he -- he hit me and I passed out. I don't know if he did anything to me while -- while i was out, but when I woke up, he was gone. I swear I never saw him again after that, but he was definitely alive.
John: Why didn't you just tell me this when I found you at the cemetery? Why'd you make me lock you up?
Natalie: You don't understand, do you? I lived with that guy for months. I tried to force myself to love him. And I, uh -- I pushed him on just about every person I knew. And anyone who warned me against him, I mean, I kept telling them, "oh, no, no, no, you don't know the real Paul. He's --" then Iím standing there in front of Cristian's grave, and I realize how much Iím not the same woman that he married. I just felt ashamed, like Iíd betrayed his -- his memory, and I didn't want anyone to know how far Iíd gotten low in my life, especially you.
John: Why me?
Natalie: Come on. The way I've treated you, knowing what you know now, how could you ever care about me again?
John: I never stopped. You should know that by now.
Cristian: Come on, Natalie, please find that note.
John: Ok. Bag it, send it over to the office. Got to go, thanks. Hey.
John: You look better. You feeling any better?
Natalie: Yeah, thanks.
John: You know, I meant what i said earlier about -- about caring, not stopping caring.
Natalie: Thanks. I know that I haven't made it easy.
John: I deserved it. You know, if you never were to talk to me again after Vegas, I wouldn't have blamed you.
Natalie: Look, what happened to Cristian was not your fault.
John: It could've gone differently. And I know this last year it's been tough, you know, but tonight, you coming clean about Cramer -- it's a good start. We're going to get you cleared on those murder charges.
Natalie: How are you going to do that? They evidence is stacked against me.
John: We'll find the body. We'll find the body, and then we'll have the evidence that will prove that you had nothing to do with it.
Natalie: Thank you for believing me.
John: Excuse me. I should take this.
John: McBain. All right. All right. Thanks.
Natalie: Is everything all right?
John: I hope so. I, uh -- I have to go.
Natalie: Ok. Well, here, you have to eat. Take a sandwich with you.
John: You sure?
Natalie: Yes, yes, please.
John: All right, you shouldn't have.
Natalie: Thank you for everything.
John: You don't need to thank me, ok?
John: It looks like someone dropped something. What is it?
Dorian: Paul ruined Kellyís life. He had Natalie thrown in jail. Oh, and he's number one on the Santi family hit list. The man has more enemies than you have personalities. Speaking of which, where was Niki Smith on Halloween night?
Viki: Oh, my goodness, Niki Smith. You're pulling out the big guns, aren't you, Dorian? That proves you're hiding something. Don't you tell me that all you know about his disappearance is that he was no good.
Dorian: Actually, he was a nasty, disgusting, filthy piece of slime. But I did not kill him. Is there anything else you'd like to add on the subject?
Viki: Yes, there is, actually. Bo and john are going to get to the bottom of this. You'd better be ready.
Dorian: Mm-hmm. Excuse me, Viki?
Dorian: When you see Natalie next, will you tell her for me "Brava"?
Michael: Marcie Walsh, Hayes barber, literary agent.
Marcie: I -- Iím so sorry. I didn't mean any of it. I mean what I mean to see -- I mean, I -- how many times can I say "I mean"? You must think I am a huge jerk.
Hayes: The first rule in our business, Marcie -- be careful what you say in a public place because inevitably the person you're saying it about is sitting right behind you.
Marcie: Well, I don't think Iím ever going to talk again. In fact, I don't think Iím going talk, read, or write ever again.
Hayes: A talented writer like you? That'd be a shame.
Marcie: I'm so sorry. Please forgive me.
Hayes: Apology accepted, Marcie.
Marcie: Thank you, Mr. Barber. It's a great name, by the way.
Michael: You might want to quit while you're ahead.
Michael: Hayes, you want to have a seat?
Hayes: Yeah, just for a minute.
Michael: Are you feeling ok?
Hayes: Oh, the wrist. Yes, thank you so much. I appreciate the good help.
Michael: Good, good.
Hayes: Marcie, I am sure that you are being completely inundated with agents trying to represent you.
Marcie: Oh, actually, you're the first. You know, my publisher at Hyperion, Gretchen Young, says that I need an agent, but I don't understand why I do.
Hayes: With a book like "The Killing Club"? Hyperion's certainly going to want a sequel. Then there's the audio book, the book tour, movie rights.
Marcie: Movies? Are you serious?
Hayes: Oh, actresses are going to be banging down your door to play Jamie Ferrara. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a TV series down the road.
Sonia: Hey. So I went to see Jessica.
Sonia: She's digging into Tico's past and I wanted to warn her. I don't think she heard me. Where you going?
Antonio: To make her listen.
Sonia: Oh, god. Well, I guess I have to get used to this. You go running off to save Jessica, and I get left alone.
Antonio: Look, Sonia, I've always been honest about my feelings for you and for her.
Sonia: Are you kidding me? I mean, Antonio, we've been living together for months.
Antonio: It's not happening, Sonia.
Sonia: It's not happening? Well, then I guess Iíve given just about all that I can give to this. Luckily, Iím not a masochist, so I guess if there's no "we," maybe I should move my stuff out of the loft. Probably the sooner the better, right?
Antonio: I never meant to hurt you.
Sonia: That's not what I wanted, either. Who knows, maybe we'll have a chance together sometime in the future.
Antonio: Yeah. I'll -- I'll see you later.
Todd: Is now a bad time?
Jessica: No, it's not. Tico is at Kevinís. He won't be back for a few hours.
Todd: Where's all your servants?
Jessica: Night off.
Jessica: Why don't you come in? I'm having trouble filing this story.
Todd: You know, jess, maybe you ought to back off that story just a little bit. I can run another piece, no problem.
Jessica: No, Todd, this story is way too important.
Todd: It's risky and you could get into hot water.
Jessica: Well, I'm already there, so -- listen, I'm going to find out the truth about my husband, so Iím writing this whether you print it or not, so you might as well just run with it, ok?
Todd: Just be careful.
Jessica: Wait, wait, wait. Todd? Why -- why'd you come by here?
Todd: Oh, I'm just checking up on my favorite niece. Boop!
Todd: Ok, Antonio, Elvis has left the building. There's no servants, there's no guards. The coast is clear.
Duke: Hey. I got your message about Ticoís marriage being in trouble? What's going on?
Adriana: I caught Antonio and Jessica about to kiss.
Adriana: Jessica said it meant nothing, but that's not what it looked like.
Duke: Wow. So what are you going to do?
Adriana: I don't know. I mean, I want to tell Tico to protect him. He loves Jessica so much. But I don't want to be the one to hurt him.
Duke: I feel terrible. I mean, all this crazy stuff's been going on, and I haven't even been here to help.
Adriana: You're here now. That makes me feel better.
Kevin: Hey, Duke.
Adriana: I'll see you tomorrow. Bye.
Duke: See you. I'm glad you want to talk, dad, because I have some things I want to say.
Krystal's voice: This is Krystal Carey. Leave me a message. Call back real soon, now, you hear?
Kelly: Oh, my god, that's her. That's her! That's the woman who called me!
David: It is?
Kelly: She's got ace! She's got Ace, David!
David: Ok --
Kelly: You did it! You did it! You found her!
David: Good news.
Kelly: You found Ace!
Natalie: It's, uh, about the love center. Mom must've dropped it.
John: Yeah? You sure you're ok?
Natalie: Yeah. Yeah, you know, just talking about Paul got me -- got me a little upset. But you have to go, so --
John: Ok. You, uh -- you take care of yourself.
Natalie: This handwriting is Cris'. No. No, it can't be. Is this a cruel joke or something? No. No, no, I'm not -- Iím not going to let anybody try to tell me that Cristianís still alive.
David: Where you going?
Kelly: I'm going to Pine Valley. I've got to get Ace.
David: Alone? No, you're not. I'm not letting you out of my sight.
Kelly: You can't go anywhere. Dorian needs you here.
David: Look, why can't we just call the police?
Kelly: No, no, the woman called me for a reason. If I call the police or get Kevin involved, it could ruin everything.
David: Well, what if this Krystal turns out to be some psycho killer?
Kelly: She's not, she's not. I've met her a few times before, and -- I don't know, David, there's this connection between us. I can't explain it. She's a good person. I can tell.
David: Kelly, that's precisely what you thought about Kevin at one time.
Kelly: David, this is my only clue as to where ace is. I am not going to ruin this by getting the F.B.I. Or the police or Kevin involved and they start using their tactics and it's all over. I'm going to go get my son!
David: All right, fine. But I'm going with you.
Marcie: Well, I always wanted to write like Flannery OíConnor, you know, but kind of Faulknery, sort of -- that kind of style? But when I first started writing, what came out was --
Hayes: You. Totally you. You have a very unique voice.
Marcie: I do?
Michael: See? I told you what a great writer you are.
Marcie: Yeah, I know, but you're my boyfriend.
Hayes: You know, it's hard to believe that "The Killing Club" is your first book.
Marcie: Well, I have a million ideas for the next one.
Hayes: Well, I've got some time. Do you want to head up to my suite, kick some ideas around?
Marcie: Oh, that would be great. I mean, would you mind?
Michael: I've got to go back to the hospital.
Marcie: Oh. Are you sure?
Michael: Yeah. You kids go and brainstorm.
Hayes: Good meeting you, mike.
Michael: Yeah, hey, listen, take good care of that, all right?
Hayes: Oh, of course.
Michael: All right.
Marcie: Michael, are you sure? I mean, my present and the whole --
Michael: Some other time. This is important.
Marcie: Thank you. Thank you.
Jessica: Antonio, you shouldn't be here. If Tico comes home --
Antonio: He'll kill me.
Jessica: You can't keep on coming by here. You're with Sonia now.
Antonio: I can't leave you alone with Tico. It's too dangerous.
Jessica: Antonio, just because you decide something doesn't mean that it automatically happens, ok? I'm married to Tico. Yes, we kissed one time, but it --
Antonio: You need to get out of here. I'm not going to stand around and let you risk your life.
Jessica: Then why don't you help me? We can do this together. But, Antonio, you have to trust me, to believe that I know what Iím doing. Can you do that again? Can you trust me? See this pill? I helped invent it.
Natalie: Asa's lodge. Nobody knows about Asa's lodge except Ė
duke: Dad, when I left, I was really upset. But when i heard ace was missing, see, you know, none of that mattered anymore. I mean, we're family. So if it's all right with you, I'd like to move back home.
Kevin: I would like that very much.
Kelly: You can't go, David. Dorian -- the cops are breathing down her neck!
David: No, Kelly, who looks guiltier, the suspect sitting at home in plain sight or the suspect's fiancťe with a criminal record who skips town? I can help pull the heat off of Dorian and help you find ace both at the same time. Oh, my god. I was just inadvertently brilliant. It is instinct. Come on. Let's go. We got people to see in pine valley.
Antonio: I never stopped trusting you.
Antonio: Yes, really. But if you're so much about trust, how about being honest with yourself?
Jessica: I married Tico.
Antonio: You need to remind yourself of that every chance you get? Do you?
John: Did you get anything else on that?
Dorian: Lieutenant, what's going on here?
John: Well, what a nice surprise. Some kids found a body out at the quarry, a gunshot victim. Before we transfer him to the police coroner for a full autopsy, I thought maybe we would take a little look.
John: What do you know. Looks like we got ourselves a murder victim.
>> On the next "One Life To Live" --
Tico: Let's go upstairs. Let's make our marriage perfect.
Antonio: Did Tico order Cristianís death?
Evangeline: We can't be together until you figure out whatever it is that's going on between you and Natalie.
Cristian: It's real. I'm home.
