Marcie: Look what I found.
Michael: That's about those bones you found at the construction site.
Marcie: Uh-huh, it's the complete forensic report.
Michael: Are you supposed to have that?
Marcie: Well, somebody's got to find out who she was, right? Ok, now, the only thing we know about her is that she died about 50 years ago. It says here from "a C-1 fracture consisting of bilateral vertical fractures through the neural arch --"
Michael: She died of a broken neck.
Marcie: Well, why can't they just say that?
Michael: It's technical.
Marcie: Well, yeah, but then I don't understand it.
Michael: You're not supposed to. From the looks of this, she died from a lot of other broken bones, too.
John: They say she jumped or fell or was pushed from a rooftop.
Marcie: I was about to file this.
John: Relax. It's a cold case.
John: How cold, you might ask? This one's got freezer burn.
Michael: You seem to care
John: It's what I do on slow nights.
Michael: Well, if it's so slow, how come you're not out on the town having a good time?
John: What makes you think I'm not having a good time?
Michael: This is fun for you? You need help; serious help.
Natalie: I told you, I called my lawyer and I had him take all my money and put it in my trust fund.
Rex: For your kids?
Natalie: If I have any.
Rex: So you won't ever be able to touch your money again?
Rex: Which means you'll be broke.
Natalie: Well, except for what I earn.
Rex: And this way you figure everyone will think Paul loves you for you and not your big bucks.
Natalie: Look, I don't care about everyone. At least mom will have to drop it. That's all that matters.
Rex: Get your things.
Rex: Because we're going to the hospital, ok? I'm checking you into the psych ward.
River's voice: It was my first time, too. That was amazing. Was it for you? It's just we -- we probably should've used some protection or something.
River: Adriana, it's me. Don't hang up, please.
Dorian: Yes, she is, but I think I'd better go home to check on her -- also, my niece Kelly.
Tico: I'm sure your family appreciates your concern.
Dorian: I hope so. I care very much about my girls.
Tico: Just your girls?
Dorian: And, of course, I care about my newfound stepson.
Tico: I was referring to your nephew Paul.
Dorian: That snake. Don't ever believe a word he says.
Tico: Including when he told me you were in Puerto Rico, hunting for my father's fortune?
Dorian: Yes. It's true. I did go to Puerto Rico, but I did it for Adriana. I felt terrible when we lost most of the fortune that she was left by my dear Aunt Betsy who, by the way, Paul tried to scam millions from.
Tico: Adriana appears to be less interested in money than in family.
Dorian: Oh, so am I. As far as I'm concerned, we have found another of your father's treasures. First Adriana, and now you.
Tico: Hmm. You certainly know the right things to say.
Dorian: And so do you.
Carlotta: I think I like him.
David: So he's nothing like his father, El Toro?
Carlotta: He's smart like my brother, just as handsome, and extremely charming, as you can tell.
David: Hmm. Manny the Bull was all that, huh?
Carlotta: Oh, yes. Even the worst men can be very charming.
Angelina: Oh. She's beautiful. A little older than Tico was when we went to Madrid after his mother died.
Antonio: You must be very happy to be reunited with Tico, and with Sonia, too.
Sonia: I'm sure she's every bit as happy as we are.
Angelina: Yes. Being with Tico again is the answer to all my prayers.
Sonia: Come on, Angelina; let's get you some more of that brandy.
Jessica: Does Angelina seem especially nervous to you?
Antonio: More like scared.

Natalie: He does.
Rex: Uh-huh. And how did he react when you told him you were giving away all your money?
Natalie: He was cool with it.
Rex: Oh, yeah, I bet he was, and then he went to the bathroom and started heaving his guts out.
Natalie: Paul loves me, Rex -- me. And F.Y.I. -- he hasn't asked me for a red cent, not since the day we met.
Rex: Well, maybe he was just waiting for the right time.
Natalie: Get out. You know, unlike a certain brother of mine, some people actually fall in love just because they can't help it.
Rex: Yeah, if you say so. What?
Natalie: You. You were eyeing Adriana Lord, and I just thought it was because she was cute, but I realized she's an heiress.
Adriana: Leave? What do you mean?
River: Some professor from Juilliard wants me to go and study in New York with her.
Adriana: Are you going to?
River: Not unless you give me a reason to stay.
Tico: But back off?
Dorian: Don't take it the wrong way. It's just that you are new in town.
Tico: You're not the first to question my motives here. Is everyone in Llanview this suspicious of newcomers?
Dorian: Only when they're worldly, charming, handsome, sophisticated --
David: Are you talking about me again? Am I blushing? I turn bright red when she goes on and on about me. Do you mind if I interrupt you and Gus for a moment? I want to set up a time for you to come down and see me at "Craze." I really think you'd like our operation down there. The magazine is all about the latest hot spots, and we're thinking about maybe moving into the European index. We thought about setting up shop in St. Petersburg, Prague, maybe even your old stomping grounds in Madrid.
Dorian: Darling, I really do need to be getting home.
Tico: Please call me and let me know how Adriana is, and your niece Kelly, too.
Dorian: Why don't you come over and see for yourself?
Angelina: Why would I not be?
Antonio: I don't know. You seem just a little uncomfortable.
Sonia: Well, the poor thing's just exhausted. It's a long flight from Madrid.
Angelina: Yes. I am very tired.
Sonia: Why don't I get you up to your room?
Angelina: Buenas noches, Senor. Senorita.
Antonio: Buenas --
Jessica: Antonio, what's wrong?
Antonio: It's just that locket. It's beautiful.
Sonia: Angelina, come on, let's go.
Jessica: Angelina's locket? What's up?
Antonio: I don't know, there was -- there was something about it. But what was really weird is she didn't seem to want to be here.
Jessica: Yeah, I see that, too.
Antonio: If Sonia would just give me a few seconds with her, I could find out why. Something is definitely off here.
John: Mm-hmm. You know, thanks again for all that help on the forensics report.
Michael: Oh, it's not a problem, man. Any time. You know, I actually really enjoyed doing it. I like it a lot better than the stuff I'm doing at the hospital.
John: You should consider it, you know? It's a good job, forensic medicine.
Michael: You sure you want to work with your kid brother, Johnny?
John: No. Unless he learned to, you know, keep his nose out of my personal life.
Michael: Right. Sorry about the Dr. Phil stuff, but you know what they say, man -- all work, no play, oh, boy.
John: I don't know, I look at you and it seems like you've got it down pretty good. My -- my life outside of work is --
Michael: Is there a reason for that?
John: There's somebody. I'm kind of seeing her on and off. Mostly off.
Michael: Any more qualifiers?
John: Forget about it. I haven't heard from her.
Michael: And you're going to let that stop you? Come on, man, when I first met Marcie, she hated me, especially when I popped off about her gay brother. All right, when I saw that she didn't like me, I just decided I would keep going for it, and if I hadn't kept going for it, we never would've gotten together. So what are you doing hanging out here with me, my girl, and a bunch of old bones? Go call Natalie.
John: I wasn't talking about Natalie.
Rex: Well, I'd be willing to take my chances. Look, why don't you give me your trust fund? Forget about the little ones to come.
Natalie: You know, this has been hanging around my neck ever since I first got my hands on that money. You know, I didn't come into town to see my family. I wanted their money. And it made me something I don't like. It still does.
Rex: Your mom and Jessica are just making you feel that way because you sided with Kevin against them.
Natalie: Yeah, well, if there was no money in those stupid shares, there wouldn't be a problem. Money is way more trouble than it's worth. Don't you get that?
Rex: No. Never will. And I got to tell you, no matter what he says, Paul doesn't, either.
Angelina: Yes, Tico.
Tico: Yes? Ok.
Angelina: I'm very comfortable in my room.
Tico: I have to go out for a while. Esta bien?
Sonia: Yes, Tico, she'll be fine with me.
Tico: I won't be long. Take good care of her while I'm gone.
Sonia: We have servants for that, Angelina. Go to bed.
Angelina: I'm not sleepy.
Sonia: Yes, you are. Look, you don't have anything to worry about, ok? I just don't want you talking to Antonio anymore. The farther you stay away from him, the better.
Antonio: Mami, before you go, what's going on with you and Angelina?
Carlotta: Nothing. Why?
Antonio: Well, you've kept a lot of secrets from me so far.
Carlotta: Antonio, I told you that we knew each other years ago. We have many memories.
Antonio: Is that all it is?
Carlotta: Yes, that's all it is. There is nothing more. See you.
Antonio: Is it just me, or am I imagining things here?
Jessica: No, I saw it, too. She's definitely nervous about something.
Antonio: And Angelina, also, all right, except that every single time I go ask her a question, Sonia comes flying out of left field.
Jessica: Then maybe Soniaís the one keeping secrets.
Antonio: Jamie's out like a light.
Jessica: I'm glad we're home. Tonight weird enough for you or what?
Antonio: Yeah, a little. I just can't stop thinking about that locket Angelina had. I don't know why, but it just kind of jumped out at me, you know?
Jessica: Well, it was pretty.
Antonio: I saw you talking to Sonia. What was that about?
Jessica: Well, I want to interview her.
Antonio: You do? Why would you want to do that?
Jessica: Sizing up my competition.
Antonio: Oh, give me a break. She's no competition, trust me. Where'd you get that?
Jessica: Oh, Tico gave it to me. Belonged to his mother.
Antonio: Ah. Maybe I'm the one who should be worried.
Jessica: Come on. He's been a perfect gentleman.
Antonio: Yeah? And I'm not?
Jessica: No. That's what I like about you.
Adriana: I've got to go. Tico.
Tico: Adriana. Your mother invited me to stop by and make sure that -- are you ok?
Adriana: Yeah, fine.
Dorian: Tico. I thought I heard the doorbell. Thank you very much for joining us back here, especially since your last visit to La Boulaie was such a fiasco.
Tico: Oh, not at all.
Tico: Someone you don't want to talk to?
Adriana: River keeps calling me.
Tico: I told him to stay away from you. I guess I'll have to make myself more clear.
Dorian: Oh, you needn't involve yourself.
Tico: He's upsetting my sister.
Dorian: I will handle it.
David: Look at that! There he is! Our special guest is arrived.
Dorian: Darling, why don't you take our special guest into the living room and make him a drink?
David: Sure. Come on in here.
Dorian: I'll be in in just a moment.
David: I'll show you the fancy room.
Dorian: Darling, are you sure you're all right?
Adriana: Yeah, I'll be fine.
Dorian: You know, maybe you've got a fever.
Adriana: No, I'm -- I'm ok, really. I just -- I should go to bed.
Dorian: All right, but if you need anything, just give me a holler.
David: There we go.
Tico: If River doesn't back down, I'll have to do something.
David: Now, come on, he's just a kid. You can't blame him for trying to get his girl back. You know, as a matter of fact, in the current issue of "Craze," we have an article on teen relationships for the new millennium. Let me -- let me give you this issue. You take this home, you mull this over because I'm telling you, a European version of this magazine would sell like -- what's Spanish for "hotcakes"?
Dorian: Pancakes. Darling, can we just put "Craze" on hold for a moment? Thank you. Tico, you were so very generous tonight when you gave all of your guests very special gifts, so I would like to give you this. Your father gave it to me. I admired it and, well, he said that his father had given it to him. In fact, his father had made this beautiful, exquisite chain, and, well, it's lovely. And now it's yours.
Tico: I don't want it.
Antonio: You should be serving Tico and Sonia first, Angelina. What are you whispering about?
Sonia: Tell us, Antonio, what do you want?
Antonio: What do I want?
Tico: It's time you made your choice.
Antonio: About what? Jessica?
Michael: Yeah. Has it stopped raining?
Marcie: I think so. What you guys doing on the computer?
Michael: We're checking out the L.P.D. archives.
John: We found something on a young woman who disappeared in September of 1955.
Marcie: Ooh, that's about -- that's about 50 years ago. You think she might be our victim?
Michael: It's possible. I mean, a lot of the facts her line up with our forensics reports.
John: Her name was Amy Dunham. She was 21 at the time of her disappearance.
Michael: It says here that she was quite a looker.
John: Engaged to someone in the Lord family.
Marcie: Ugh, well, that family's crazy. She probably didn't want to marry into it. That's why she killed herself. Ooh, or maybe -- maybe he didn't want to marry her and so he murdered her.
John: Well, they said something about a possible murder investigation, but there was nothing found.
Marcie: Well, but how could they not have found it? We did. It was right there in Angel Square.
John: Around the time the bank was being built. The last anyone ever saw her, she was going into the Angel Square Hotel. She could have fallen.
Michael: Or jumped.
Marcie: Or been pushed.
John: She could've disappeared in the construction site.
Marcie: No, unless somebody moved her body there. And what was she doing in Angel Square, anyway? I mean, you know, does it say anything in the report, like, did she live there, was she visiting somebody?
John: No, there's nothing in there like that.
Marcie: I don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep until I find out.
Michael: So let's do it.
Marcie: Michael, I don't think you should be talking about us doing it in front of your brother.
Michael: Not that kind of doing it.
Marcie: Oh! Oh, you mean our date. I don't want to cancel our date.
Michael: Sweetheart, if I'm with you, it's a date.
Marcie: I knew there was a reason that I loved you. Stop it!
Rex: Um -- I got to go, kiddo. But listen, while I'm gone, if you inherit more millions --
Natalie: Ok, get out.
Rex: No, just let me finish. If you inherit more millions, give them to Paul. Men care about things like that, more than you know.
John: Having a bad night?
Dorian: It's something to settle your stomach.
Adriana: I don't need anything.
Dorian: It'll be good for you.
Adriana: I'll feel better in the morning.
Dorian: Honey, what are you even doing up?
Adriana: Oh, I just forgot something down here.
Dorian: Your datebook?
Adriana: I wanted to see what was on the schedule at the daycare center tomorrow in case I can't make it.
Dorian: So, you are feeling worse than you're admitting, hmm?
Adriana: No, I'm just -- I'm just still upset about River and Shannon. I'm not sick.
Dorian: Darling, you're very, very young. And even though you felt very deeply about River, there are going to be other boys. Trust me on this. Someday, River will just be a memory. Shh, shh, shh.
River: Yeah. Why?
Tico: I'm her brother. Remember?
River: Right, for 15 minutes.
Tico: Hey, I told you before; I don't want you hurting her again.
River: Hey, look, man, I know I screwed up, and I'm trying to make up for it right now, so if you'll just let me --
Tico: She doesn't want you to.
River: You have to believe that I love her, and I know that she still loves me.
Tico: Then stay away from her.
River: Hey, I do what I want, right?
Tico: I might want to rethink that if I were you.
Tico: Jessica. Hi.
Tico: It's late. Should you be out here by yourself? Why don't I walk you back to the loft?
Jessica: No, thanks, I'm fine. I'm actually -- have you seen Antonio? I woke up and he was gone.
Tico: No, no, I haven't seen him. Why, you don't know where he might have gone?
Jessica: You know, I don't know, maybe he just couldn't sleep and went out for a walk. He had a lot on his mind tonight.
Tico: Hopefully, not because of me. Is it something I said?
Jessica: No. It's not exactly to do with you. It's just some things happened tonight.
Tico: Hey, is there a place we can go and have something to eat or drink? I want to know what you and my cousin are losing sleep over.
John: That's just plain wrong.
Natalie: Want another beer?
John: No, I'd like two pink ladies and a ramus fizz.
John: Or a beer. So want to tell me what's wrong with you?
Natalie: You know, I'm the bartender.
John: Hmm. But you don't have to tip me.
Natalie: So, how's it going with Evangeline?
Natalie: Really? Not in a simple, stable relationship? What's wrong with this picture?
John: Well, you know what they say -- talk is cheap.
Natalie: What are you doing here?
John: There's always the pool tables.
Natalie: I thought you'd never ask.
John: Let's go.
Natalie: All right.
Antonio: I need your help.
Marcie: Well, I found this old police interview, right, but it wasn't with the regular report. Anyway, it says that Amy Dunham wasn't really happy about her engagement. I think it was sort of like an arranged marriage, you know, between the two big families in town.
Michael: The Lord relatives --
Marcie: Yeah, and the Dunhams, whoever they were. But there are rumors that she was having some kind of an affair.
Michael: Ooh. With who? Does it say?
Marcie: No, I don't know. I didn't get that far yet. But, well, it says here that they apparently brought in a suspect, and the suspect was the guy that she was having an affair -- oh, wow.
Michael: Is it somebody we know?
Marcie: Yes, I think -- well, maybe you might know. His name was Charles McBain. Is there any Charles in your family?
Michael: No, not that I can think of. But, I mean, there are a lot of McBains out there.
Marcie: I don't even want to think about this anymore. It just makes me sad to think about it. You know, she's in the same position as Eric. She wasn't free to marry with whoever she wanted to.
Marcie: I mean, I don't even want to think about my family. I mean, Ericís happy for the first time in his life. He's so happy, and I don't understand why they don't want him to be. And my brother Ron? I don't understand why he's so against it.
Michael: I do.
Adriana: No, it's ok. You didn't know.
Dorian: Didn't know what? Honey, is there something more to this than just River?
Adriana: No. No, it's all about River. It's just no matter what you say; I don't think I'll ever get over him.
Dorian: Of course you will. But you know what? Right now, you need a good night's sleep. Yes. Get some rest, honey, and then everything will look brighter in the morning.
David: Good night, Adriana.
Dorian: Hey. Did you check on Kelly?
David: Oh, yeah. She's out cold.
Dorian: Good. She's going to need her rest for the custody hearing tomorrow morning. Oh, heaven forbid Kevin gets that baby.
David: Hey, I have seen Kelly go through a lot, ok, and she's always survived. Hell, she survived me. Then again, I survived her. Hey, look -- toast.
Dorian: You know, Kelly isn't the only one I'm worried about. Oh, my girls, my girls.
David: Something's wrong with Adriana?
Dorian: I know that no one ever really dies of a broken heart, but that poor baby --
Sonia: Antonio, why would you think I would know?
Antonio: Well, I thought maybe you'd seen something like it in your tarot cards.
Sonia: I thought you didn't believe in that stuff.
Antonio: Too many strange things have been happening, too many coincidences. Like Angelinaís locket. It's like I've seen it before.
Sonia: You probably saw it on another woman. I mean, a lot of people have lockets.
Antonio: Ok, but what about this? I mean, it's not like you see it every day.
Sonia: I don't know, Antonio. I'll look into this for you, see if I can find something like that in one of my dream books or something.
Antonio: Unless it's something real.
Sonia: This really has you spooked, doesn't it? Don't worry. I'll help you.
Michael: Marcie, calm down, all right? Why don't you just hear me out?
Marcie: No! I thought that you were more open-minded than this! I thought you had changed!
Michael: I am open-minded, ok? I just don't understand why your brother has to marry his partner.
Marcie: Well, you don't care about straight people getting married, do you?
Michael: No, because that's different.
Marcie: Oh, that's different? Don't tell me that you don't have a problem with gay people if you think it's different! You do! I don't even want to talk to you right now!
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________David: You sure that a broken heart is the only thing that's bothering Adriana?
Dorian: I don't know. I mean, I was hoping that, you know, I could make it all go away by taking her on a shopping spree to New York, but I was so worried about the way Kellyís been behaving, and now with Adriana --
David: What, you think she's got the crazy Cramer gene?
David: Hey, no way. She's strong just like you are. And besides, she's 50% Santi.
Dorian: That's true. If she's anything like her brother Tico -- I admire that young man, really. The way he turned down the watch tonight, his father's watch. He wants to be his own man.
David: The guy says no to one ugly, old watch; you get all weak in the knees?
Dorian: David, you're jealous.
David: I'm not jealous. I got my own watch.
Dorian: You're jealous. You're jealous.
David: Nothing of the kind. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go upstairs and fantasize about his sexy foster sister, Sonia. Are you jealous?
Dorian: Bad boy!
David: Quit it.
Dorian: You are a very bad boy!
David: Quit it.
Antonio: I'm sorry, honey. I didn't want to wake you. Let me take you home.
Sonia: Hey, don't worry about a thing, ok?
Antonio: Thanks again.
Jessica: Good night.
Tico: What was that about?
Sonia: This. Antonio saw it in a dream. He wants to know what it meant.
John: See you tomorrow. What's going on with you and your sister?
Natalie: She and mom are both mad at me.
John: What about?
Natalie: Oh, money, what else? That's why I want to give all my inheritance away.
John: So give it away.
Natalie: I am, to my kids, if I have any. I had it put in a blind trust for them.
Natalie: You really think so?
John: The only thing money ever bought was -- was misery.
Natalie: Yeah, well, some people just don't seem to get that.
Tico: It's bad. We're going to have to move faster than we thought.
