Natalie: Ooh, let's get some champagne.
Paul: All right. You're not trying to brush me off, are you?
Natalie: No. No. Why do you ask?
Paul: I don't know. I mean, you seem a little wound up right now. Is something or somebody else on your mind?
Natalie: The only thing on my mind is you.
Kelly: David, please stop hounding me.
David: I saw you and Paul going at it in the casino.
Kelly: What did you hear?
David: Kelly, I know you're in trouble.
Kelly: Kevin is in Pine Valley. He's meeting with Adam Chandler. What is he going to tell Kevin?
Paul: No --
Kelly: No, no, no, no. Is he going to find out that there's a baby missing?
Paul: I got to go.
Kelly: No, no, you have to answer me. Did you get Ace from someone in Pine Valley?
Kelly: You know?
David: Yeah, I know.
Kevin: Kelly, I'm at Llanfair. Call me when you get this, ok?
Jessica: Kevin, are you sure mom went to bed?
Kevin: Yeah, I'm sure. I saw her.
Jessica: Well, she's not up there. I can't find her anywhere.
Michael: Is anybody there?
Todd: Hey. Where's Viki?
Jessica: Why? What's the matter?
Todd: Blair's coming home with Starr and Jack pretty soon. I need to talk to her.
Jessica: Well, she's not here. We don't know where mom is.
Todd: Well, where would she have gone?
Jessica: Maybe somewhere to think. She just -- she got her results from her angiogram back today.
Kevin: It's not good.
Jessica: Hello. Oh, my God. Ok, we're on our way. Kevin, mom was at the hospital with Ben. She's had a coronary.
Dorian: Doctor, how is she?
Doctor: We have done all we can to stabilize her. I need to speak to my team about our options.
Dorian: Viki, can you hear me? You have to pull through this. I'm not ready to lose you yet.
Michael: Hey, it's me.
John: What's up, Michael?
Michael: I think somebody's stalking me, John.
John: What makes you say that?
Michael: Well, there were some hang-ups earlier, and the front window got broken while I was asleep.
Michael: So, it could be Dr. Long trying to scare me off. Is there anything you can do?
John: Unfortunately, but without any proof, it's just a broken window and a couple of hang-ups.
Michael: Dr. Long could be outside, prowling around and waiting to make his move.
John: Michael, relax, all right? Dr. Long can't bother you tonight. I got him here in my office. We'll have a long talk about all of this.
Paul: Wait, no. Natalie -- Natalie, stop. Look, are you doing this because you're over John McBain, or are you trying to get his attention?
Natalie: Oh, my God. Ok, I am not in bed with John, and I thought I was in bed with you. Ok, John and I are over. I told you that.
Paul: No. I know. I know. But -- this isn't like you, all right? I mean there's got to be something. Are you trying to get your mind off your mom or something?
Natalie: Well, that would be good. You know, just forget about everything for a little while, everything that's not in this room.
Natalie: Every danger, every letdown. Let's just sink into us.
Paul: That's what I want. I mean, let's -- let's sink.
Kelly: I don't know what you think you heard.
David: I know you're in a jam. I heard you say that you wished you never even had a brother. I heard you say you wished he were dead.
Kelly: Oh. Yeah, I --
David: Kelly, if you wish your own brother were dead, there's got to be a damned good reason for it.
Kelly: I was just upset.
David: Kelly, if you tell me what the problem is, I'll take care of Paul for you myself.
[Monitor alarm sounds]
Dorian: Hang on there, Viki. Your doctors are coming.
Doctor: Give us room, please. Everybody out.
Dorian: No, no, no, no. We've got to empty the room. They need us out of the room. Kevin --
Doctor: We have v-tach with pulse, immediate cardio --
Kevin: What's v-tach?
Dorian: It's ventricular tachycardia. It's a very rapid arrhythmia.
Jessica: And what does that mean?
Dorian: It means your mother's heart isn't getting enough oxygen. That's why it's beating so rapidly.
Todd: Dorian, I should be in there with her.
Dorian: You would only get in the way, Todd.
Jessica: Ok, can they help her?
Dorian: They're going to have to act very fast.
Dr. Long: You asked me to come down here and answer your questions, right? I have been extremely cooperative.
Dr. Long: Those documents prove the organs being harvested are all completely legitimate.
John: You think I've never seen manufactured documents before?
Dr. Long: They are not manufactured.
John: Bottom line is you come clean right now or I'm coming down to your office tomorrow with all the necessary paperwork. I'm going to make such a stink you won't believe it. And if we find one organ that was sold or moved illegally out the door --
Dr. Long: No, I am well aware of the penalty for that kind of --
John: You know what's going to happen?
Dr. Long: I am well aware of the penalty for that kind of thing. Honest to God, this is so insulting.
John: Yes, it is, but I think it's going to get worse. But for now, you're free to go. Think about tomorrow. See you around noon?
Dr. Long: Fine. My attorney and I look forward to it.
Nora: Still trying to say goodbye?
John: Just trying to do the best I can, right?
Nora: Sometimes that's the way to do it. Having a drink, saying goodbye to a photograph -- that's not how you get over someone.
John: Nora, if you've got better idea --
Nora: I do. I sure do.
Doctor: Let's try it again at 360. Clear.
Nurse: There we go.
Doctor: Sinus rhythm.
Todd: Thank God.
Kevin: Can we go in now? Yeah? Why did this happen?
Doctor: Well, unfortunately, scar tissue from prior heart attacks can predispose someone to what's called ventricular tachycardia, which means the heart is beating too fast. And then because the heart is not pumping enough blood, it starts to beat even faster, but we have Mrs. Davidson stabilized now.
Jessica: So, what now?
Doctor: Well, I'm afraid that her heart is too damaged for surgery.
Todd: All right, what about one of those -- an AICD?
Doctor: No, we are past that.
Todd: All right -- the l-- the left --
Doctor: If I thought her heart was strong enough, we would try a left ventricular assist device, but frankly, I don't think she could stand that kind of trauma. I'll be back shortly.
Todd: You're not going anywhere. You stay here and make sure she's all right.
Viki: Hey, I'm -- I'm all right.
Michael: Thank God you made it home.
Marcie: Why wouldn't we?
Michael: No reason. You guys didn't see anybody outside, did you?
Marcie: No. Why? I mean, what happened?
Jen: How did the window break?
Michael: The wind kicked something up and must have broke it.
Jen: You know, there's branches scraping it all the time. I'm actually surprised it hasn't happened already.
Marcie: Really? Are you sure you didn't see somebody out there?
Michael: No. I mean, yes -- yes, I'm sure that I didn't see anybody -- how was the club?
Jen: I'll let Marcie tell you about that one. I'm going to go to bed.
Jen: Good night.
Michael: Good night, Jen.
Marcie: All right. Come on. I want to know what really happened.
Michael: Well, the window really did just break itself out of the blue. I had this -- this is so stupid. I had this dream that Dr. Long got in here while I was sleeping.
Marcie: Why didn't you call me?
Michael: I don't know. I called John.
Michael: Turns out Dr. Long was in his office.
Marcie: You're kidding me.
Michael: Yeah. The problem is Long is just going to come up with some other phony excuse. John can't push too hard, not without any real solid evidence.
Marcie: That's it, Michael. I'm sick and tired of living like this, ok?
Michael: Whoa, wait, whoa, what are you doing?
Marcie: Well, if Dr. Long is in that office L.P.D. with John right now, then that's the perfect opportunity for me to get the evidence that he needs to put him away.
Michael: Marcie, I don't --
Marcie: No, no, come on. Come on, all right? I'm sick of living like this, never knowing when that man is going to come after us next.
Michael: Marcie, no! No way!
Marcie: No, listen -- I want my life back, Michael, and my boyfriend.
Michael: Marcie, you can't --
Marcie: See you later.
Michael: You can't do this by yourself!
Michael: Dam it! Oh Ė
Nora: I haven't wanted to pry, but this is about Caitlin, your fiancťe, right?
John: Yeah. See, I have a hard time --
Nora: Moving on.
Nora: Yeah. And you feel like you're betraying her if you're with someone else.
John: Caitlin was the one, and it's very hard for me to --
Nora: Forget. It's not about forgetting, John. It's about moving on.
Paul: No, no, just leave it.
Natalie: I canít. I mean that may be about my mother. Hello.
John: Hey. I'm thinking you were wrong about me.
Natalie: Really? How's that?
John: I'm thinking I can move on. It's time, and I want to.
Natalie: John, do you know what you're saying?
John: Yes. Can I see you? Where are you?
Natalie: Um -- I'm -- I'm in bed. Can you wait till morning?
John: Yeah, sure. Get some sleep. All right, I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Natalie: Hey, thank you. I'm really glad you called.
John: Me, too.
Paul: So it's going to be the three of us after all, huh?
Natalie: I didn't think it would be, and I'm sorry. I should go.
Paul: No, Natalie. Look, keep the room. All right, you're in no condition to drive.
Natalie: I guess I should give this back to you. It's really nice.
Paul: Yeah, you know what? I will take it. And I've got it here whenever you want it again.
Natalie: Good night, Paul.
Paul: Good night.
Kelly: It's Kevin. I can't talk to him right now.
David: Why not? He doesn't know you're in Atlantic City, does he?
Kelly: He thinks I'm volunteering for a teen hotline.
David: A teen hotline? Is that the best you could come up with?
Kelly: He doesn't want me around Paul.
David: Why not?
Kelly: Look, I can't talk to you about this, all right? I think it's time you go.
David: Oh, Kelly, what are those?
Kelly: These are just going to calm my nerves and help me sleep.
David: You get Paul out of your life, you won't -- you won't need those!
Kelly: If you're really my friend, you will just leave.
David: I'm a phone call away.
Kelly: I need to see you.
Paul: Kelly, haven't we already been through this?
Kelly: We didn't finish it. I'm still in Atlantic City. It's better than Llanview.
Paul: Yeah, all right, fine. Where are you?
Michael: Ok, all right. You got to -- come on! You can do this. You have to do this. You have to do this for Marcie.
Marcie: Oh -- excuse me. I'm new here today, and I need to do some paperwork on donated organs -- where they're kept, how they're stored, how they're sent out. Do you now where I could find all of that information?
Nurse: Down one floor, left at the elevator, and look for the door marked "Transplant Services."
Marcie: Thank you.
Kevin: Hey, there, mom. You gave us quite a scare.
Viki: I should move in here, the time I spend.
Todd: No. You're going to be all right. They're working on something for you.
Viki: I was visiting Ben. I -- I was leaving, and got such a pain, and I thought, "oh, boy, that's it, I'm dying." And that was -- that was all.
Jessica: No, no, mom. You're ok.
Dorian: You fought back. Good for you.
Viki: Hi, Dorian.
Dorian: You stay strong. I'm going to check with your doctors on your condition.
Kevin: She was pulling for you. Obviously, we all were.
Viki: I know, even before you knew.
Todd: Don't do that again, ok?
Viki: I heard you, you know. I heard you, my children, Dorian. You were praying, and I -- I followed your voices. You all brought me back.
Marcie: God, it's really freezing in here.
Dr. Long: Can I help you?
Marcie: Um -- I -- I was looking for an office. The nurse gave me some directions, and -- well -- I guess this isn't an office, right?
Dr. Long: No, it's not.
Marcie: Well -- ok, well, I'm -- I'm just going to be going. I'll --
Dr. Long: Oh, I don't think so. I think you're staying right here.
John: I want to thank you for -- for talking to me earlier.
Nora: Oh, giving you advice. Yeah, I'm really good at giving it. I'm not very good at taking it.
John: Who is?
John: You ok?
Nora: Oh, sure. Let me see -- aside from getting stood up by Daniel Colson.
John: Colson stood you up?
Nora: Maybe he was having second thoughts and he really just remembered how interested he was in Lindsay Rappaport.
Daniel: Not a chance in hell.
Jen: Who is it?
Lindsay: It's me, honey.
Jen: What are you doing here?
Lindsay: Can I just come in?
Jen: Where's Rex? Wasn't he in your bed?
Lindsay: No. He wasn't there.
Jen: You weren't together tonight?
Jen: Which is why you're looking for him. And, of course, you had to come here.
Lindsay: Well, anytime that he's not with me, I pretty much imagine that he's here sleeping with you.
Jen: He's not sleeping here. The only people that are here are Marcie and Michael, because they're my friends, and they keep me from feeling desperate, like I need to run out in the night like you're doing. Maybe you need friends like that.
Dr. Long: You're a terrible liar. You know that? You're just -- you're just looking for something you can use against me.
Marcie: You're right. I'm looking for the heart that you stole.
Dr. Long: Oh, that's a very serious charge.
Marcie: I know that it was harvested tonight from a patient upstairs, I know that you have it, I know that you're planning to sell it, but guess what -- it's not going to work, because this time the cops -- they're going to be waiting for you.
Dr. Long: Oh, too bad they're not here now.
Michael: Hey. Have you seen Marcie?
Dorian: No, I havenít. Why?
Michael: She came here to get some proof to nail Dr. Long with, and -- well, I have to find her before she gets caught, you know?
Dorian: Look, I'm sorry. I have a good friend in there, Viki Davidson, and she's ill, and I really can't think about anything else at the moment.
Michael: Oh -- of course. I'm -- I'm sorry. Is she going to be ok?
Dorian: I don't know. I really don't know.
Dorian: Oh, Dr. Gardner. Mrs. Davidson -- I mean, what can be done for her?
Dr. Gardner: Well, the medication should regulate her heartbeat.
Dorian: You want to be honest with me? You're running out of things you can do, aren't you?
Dr. Gardner: Well, there is one thing, but it is a long shot, and it's very risky.
Viki: So, I heard you badgering the doctors, showing off your medical terms.
Todd: Well, Blair and the kids are away, so what else is there to do but research heart problems?
Viki: Oh, you could let the doctors handle it.
Todd: I don't trust them.
Viki: I heard you praying. You must trust someone.
Todd: That was just some -- what else am I going to do?
Viki: Todd, you stuck with the family. You brought me back. I -- I need you to do us -- well, something else for me, please.
Todd: Yeah, anything.
Viki: I need you to set an example for the others by going on with your life in the best way possible.
Todd: How am I going to do that without you?
Viki: You live -- you live for the people who need you -- for Starr, Jack, for Blair. Please, go and be the really, really good person that I know you are. You have to -- you have to find your own peace of mind. And don't let our father or -- or your past stop you from -- from making me proud, you know? Will you do -- do that for me, please?
Todd: It sounds like you're saying goodbye to me.
Jen: So, Rex isn't here. I think you'd better go.
Lindsay: That's not the only reason I came over here, you know? I also happen to really miss you.
Lindsay: You don't miss me just a little bit?
Jen: When you can stop letting guys like Rex jerk you around, then I'll be here. But until then, don't make me miss you more than I already do.
Lindsay: You don't have to miss me. I'm right here.
Jen: Please just go!
Lindsay: You know that friend that you said that I need? I wish it could be you.
Marcie: You can't trap me in here. Michael knows that I'm in here, and so does his brother, the Chief of Detectives.
Dr. Long: You're bluffing.
Marcie: No. If you trap me in here, they will find out, I promise you.
Dr. Long: Oh, I don't see how. By the time they find you, you'll be dead.
Marcie: Ugh -- come on!
Daniel: Look, I'm sorry. It's not my fault I stood you up. It's his.
Daniel: It's this file on Dr. Long. I couldn't put it down.
Nora: Oh, all right, you win. I've blown off a few dates doing that myself.
Daniel: Look, is there any way I can make it up to you, tomorrow night, maybe?
Nora: Oh, I'm sorry. I'll be sleeping with someone else tomorrow night.
Daniel: Oh, that sounds like a lot of fun.
Nora: It will be -- in a tent, on a camping trip -- Fire Scouts camping trip with Matthew.
Daniel: Is Bo going with you?
Nora: No. Why?
Daniel: No reason.
John: Can we talk about Dr. Long just for a moment?
Daniel: John, there's nothing in that file to arrest him for.
John: How did I know you were going to say that to me?
Daniel: Look, all I see is a suspect with no probable cause. The judge will ask me how long I've been out of law school.
Nora: What about his pilot -- Paul Cramer? Can you turn him?
John: Don't worry. He'll screw up. They always do.
Paul: Kelly, it's Paul. Hey.
Kelly: It's you.
Paul: Yeah. What's going on?
Kelly: What, are you -- what?
Paul: Well, you called me. Are you ok?
Kelly: Yeah. I'm taking these new sleeping pills. They're strange.
Paul: And you called me over here to watch you sleep?
Kelly: I can't deal with you right now, Paul! Kevin keeps calling me -- keeps calling me! He's going to divorce me!
Paul: Wait, wait, Kelly, what are you talking about?
Kelly: He keeps -- he keeps calling. He went to Pine Valley and now he keeps calling --
Paul: Ok --
Kelly: He keeps calling over and over again!
Paul: Ok, ok -- no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Kelly: Why --
Paul: It's all right.
Kelly: Why why is he doing that?
Paul: No, just calm down.
Kelly: Why? Is it because he knows that Ace is not his son?
Paul: Kelly -- no. What are you talking about?
Kelly: Why -- why --
Paul: No, come on!
Kelly: You're my brother! You're supposed to protect me!
Paul: Kelly -- just relax, Kelly!
Kelly: Why can't you tell me about my baby!
Paul: Just relax --
Kelly: Why --
Paul: My God, Kelly, I'm bleeding!
Kelly: So-- sorry. Sorry -- sorry. We, you don't know what it's like to lose someone. You don't know what it's like. Kevin and Ace mean everything to me! I will never have another child! My child is dead, and I will never have one, and when Kevin finds out --
Paul: Kelly, how many have you had of those? Huh?
Kelly: A few. You have to take them. They don't last.
Paul: How many have you had?
Kelly: I just want to sleep, Paul. Please, please, I just -- I just want to sleep, please?
Paul: No, no, no, no, donít. Ok, all right, all right. God --
Kelly: Oh, God --
Paul: No, no, no, no.
Paul: Just -- and get up. Come on, come on, come on. All right. You are going to sleep.
Kelly: Oh --
Paul: And I am getting the hell out of here.
David: What the hell are you doing?
Jessica: Hey. Any word from Kelly yet?
Kevin: No, no. Have you been able to contact Natalie?
Jessica: I can go and try her, and I just get her voicemail.
Viki: Todd, at this point, you know, I think every favor and every goodbye could be the last.
Todd: Yeah? So? I've had that feeling.
Viki: So you know what it must mean to me for you to go on with your life.
Viki: Hey -- you go and -- and be my brother. And make me proud.
Todd: Ok. Goodbye.
John: Hi, it's -- it's John McBain. I'm sorry for calling so late. Is my brother there?
Jen: He and Marcie went to bed a little while ago. Should I wake him up?
John: No, no. Let them sleep. I just wanted to make sure they were home safely. Thanks.
[Pounding on door]
Marcie: Hello. Can anyone hear me? Please, can somebody please get me out of here? Oh, great. My hands are turning blue.
Michael: Dr. Long. You haven't seen Marcie, have you?
Dr. Long: Well, no, of course not. Why would she be here this time of night?
Michael: Well. Looks like somebody didn't make it. What do you got there? A heart? A very expensive heart, maybe? So, who's the lucky recipient?
Dr. Gardner: My associates and I agree -- your heart is extremely damaged. Surgery is out of the question.
Jessica: So -- so her heart will just recuperate on its own?
Dr. Gardner: Well, due to the scarring, it canít.
Kevin: All right, well, what exactly are you saying, then?
Jessica: Mom --
Viki: Have a seat. It's ok, you know. I'm ready for this.
Dr. Gardner: There is one option left -- a heart transplant. But I need --
Kevin: But nothing. What do we have to do?
Dr. Gardner: Well, unfortunately, it's not going to be that easy.
David: What happened to her?
Paul: She took some sleeping pills and she's passed out.
David: And you wanted to make sure she never woke up again.
Paul: Wait a minute. What the hell are you talking about? I would never hurt Kelly.
David: You hurt Kelly every day. I've seen it!
Paul: Don't you push me, all right? I was trying to put the pillow underneath her head!
David: You know what? People have colds longer than she's had you for a brother.
Paul: What the hell do you know about family, huh?
David: You know what I know? I know that you got your sister so scared she has to sedate herself.
Paul: What? Get your hands off me, all right? I didn't force her to take those pills, and she's totally out of her mind!
David: She's out of her mind because of you! She is your sister!
Paul: Well, you know what? You can go to hell, all right? Oh --
David: Come on, you little -- get up, I want to hit you some more! Cut the act, Paul. Paul? Get up. Please?
Dr. Gardner: Finding a compatible heart can be very challenging. Anything less than a perfect match is useless, and we would have to have it soon.
Viki: How -- how soon?
Dr. Gardner: Before your heart gives out.
Kevin: Oh, my God.
Dorian: But Vikiís condition would put her right at the top of the list, wouldn't it?
Dr. Gardner: Well, it does, but, still, finding a match like this can take some time. This would be an appropriate time for you to gather the rest of your family. I'm sorry.
Jessica: Oh, mom --
Kevin: Mom, don't you be afraid.
Viki: I am not -- I'm not afraid. And I'm -- I'm not afraid to die. I'm going to miss you all so much!
