Kevin: Hey, Jess, what's going on? What are you hiding?
Starr: Don't you knock?
Matthew: Your mom gave me the key. She's downstairs in the restaurant with my dad. They told me to come get you.
Starr: Well, I'll be down in a little while, ok?
Matthew: All right, well, hurry up because me and my dad are going back to Llanview soon.
Starr: I'm really going to miss you, Matthew.
Matthew: All right -- why'd you do that? We're going to see each other in a few days. I'll see you then.
Matthew: What do you mean, "probably?" Why wouldn't we see each other?
Starr: Who knows?
Matthew: All right, Starr, you're really acting weird. Are you running away or something?
River: And Blair and Starr are still in New York?
River: Looks like we got the -- we got the place to ourselves.
John: Mom? Mom? Mom! I get it -- you're worried. I understand, all right? Well, maybe he's just bored. I don't --
John: Well, maybe you shouldn't have given him all those Hardy Boys books when he was growing up. Uh -- yeah, yeah -- ok. I'm taking it seriously, I promise. I will not let Michael get into any more trouble.
Michael: Yeah -- Marcie, yes. I'm taking it easy, ok? I mean, what else can I do with my leg all busted up? The binoculars? They're -- they're on my desk -- uh -- gathering dust. What, don't you trust me?
Shannon: You are so bad.
Michael: Shut up!
Shannon: You're bad.
Michael: What -- will you give -- ow! Give me those back!
Shannon: Oh, come and get it, gimpy!
Michael: Oh! Yeah. It's just Shannon messing with me. Marcie says that you should take the camera away from me -- ow, ow! What are you doing? She already has the camera. You know, she's my cousin, ok? She's supposed to be on my side. Yes. Yes, I love you. Bye.
Shannon: Oh, she's still giving you a hard time about the surveillance?
Michael: Yeah. Hey, stop pressing the buttons, ok? If you run out those batteries, I'm done.
Shannon: You know what?
Michael: None of you people are going to get me a new one anyway.
Shannon: I will. I've changed my mind. I think playing super spy might be kind of cool.
Michael: Really? Well, I'm very happy to hear you say that because if I'm going to keep my promise to Marcie --
Shannon: You just lied to her.
Michael: No, no, not technically because I'm not going to be doing any spying. You are.
Natalie: What is going on? Why can't you tell me what's going on?
Natalie: I said, how come you won't tell me what's going on?
Paul: Nothing's going on! Check out that skyline! That's the Big Apple.
Natalie: Paul, forget that. I know something's going on. Please, just tell me, ok?
Paul: I can't hear you. Talk to me when we land.
Kevin: What's going on? You look very serious.
Jessica: Just working on a story.
Kevin: Oh, yeah? Top secret? Let me have a look at that.
Jessica: Uh -- you know --
Jessica: You're not supposed to look in a journalist's notebook.
Kevin: Well, I'm not a journalist anymore. I am the C.E.O.
Jessica: Exactly. You're one of the suits that us journalists have to fight against --
Jessica: To keep our freedom of speech.
Kevin: Ok, ok, truce. I'm your brother right now -- no suit, no corporate agenda.
Jessica: Fine. What's up?
Kevin: Well, I went and talked to mom's Cardiologist today and he put me in touch with a top heart specialist at the Mayo Clinic. I think I'm going to fly him in and have him do some workup on mom.
Jessica: Hmm, sounds great. She's -- she's out of breath all the time and she doesn't think that I notice.
Kevin: Yeah, I know. Listen, we are not going to let anything happen to her.
Jessica: Yeah, well, it might not be up to us.
Kevin: Listen, have you ever met a Margaret Cochran from accounting?
Jessica: Um -- red hair, the kind of pretty one?
Kevin: Yeah. Anyway, I caught her snooping around my office the other day and she said she was looking for a file. Anyway, I asked her if she knew anything about the money that was missing from Buchanan Enterprises, out of the B.E. account.
Jessica: Well, did she?
Kevin: Well, not really, but I do. It went into one of my personal accounts, right, and then I transferred it back and I changed the password and stuff. The problem is, is that I -- I really just don't know how it got there.
Jessica: But you have a theory.
Kevin: I think it's Todd.
Kevin: Well, you know, have seen him and Margaret together more than once, you know, and they seem very cozy.
Jessica: Well, dating cozy?
Kevin: Well, I think she thinks that, you know? And it seemed like Todd had her wrapped around his little finger, so I think that Margaret is Todd’s insider at the company.
Jessica: Yeah, well --
Jessica: What you were saying about Todd, I -- I saw him with --
Kevin: You saw him what?
Adriana: Cassie could be back any minute
River: She's probably visiting my dad -- that's going to take hours. What do you want to do?
Adriana: Are you hungry?
River: A little -- little bit, yeah.
Adriana: Why don't we get something to eat?
River: What, you cook?
Adriana: Yeah. I love to cook.
River: Yeah, it's just that we don't hardly get any time alone together. I don't really want to sit around and watch you work.
Adriana: I don't mind. I want to cook for you.
River: How about we get take-out? I'm buying. What do you say?
Adriana: Ok. Um -- I'll go get the menus.
Adriana: You know, there's so much food in the refrigerator, I'm -- I'm going to cook for you.
Michael: Paul Cramer’s a medevac pilot. There's no reason for him to be in the Chief of Staff's office two and three times a day, especially in the middle of the night.
Shannon: Tell John. I mean if the guy's a crook, he'll find out.
Michael: I don't have any proof. That's how I broke my leg -- trying to get some proof.
Shannon: You said you fell accidentally.
Michael: Yeah, accidentally out of Dr. Long's window.
Shannon: No wonder Marcie’s so upset. Impressive, Michael. And here I thought you were just a big klutz.
Michael: You know, I think the best thing to do would be to catch him in the act.
Shannon: In the act of what?
Michael: Well, I'm not exactly sure. You see I know he's selling something, you know. It could be drugs or organs maybe or stem cells -- God knows.
Shannon: Man, that's so major. Ok, so what do I do?
Michael: You see that window across the courtyard, third one from the right? That's Dr. Long's office.
Shannon: It's dark.
Michael: He hasn't been around for a couple of hours. I got a hunch he's up on the roof.
Shannon: Well, what's he doing up there?
Michael: That's where you come in. And I want you to take that camera, ok? I want you to go across the street to the Angel Square Hotel, go inside, go up to the roof. Anybody asks you what you're doing or where you're going, you tell them you're going to my room, ok?
Shannon: Ok. Then what?
Michael: Well, when you get there, on the roof there's -- there's a place on the roof where you have a perfect view of the helipad. Now, Dr. Long has no reason to be up there right now, so if you see him or anything that looks remotely, remotely suspicious, I want you to take pictures, as many pictures as you can, ok?
Shannon: Ok. I'm on it, cuz.
Michael: Right on.
Shannon: This is going to be fun.
John: Hey, bro.
Michael: Hey. What brings you by here, Johnny?
John: Oh, I -- I can't check in on my little brother?
Michael: Uh -- do you mean check up on your little brother?
John: Well, mom thinks you might still be spying on your boss.
Michael: Oh, no, I'm over that, man. For me, it's nothing but mystery novels. Mystery novels and me. Yes, sir.
John: Uh-huh. Well, for her sake, I'm going to need your word that you're going to drop this crazy theory of yours.
Paul: Watch your step. Yeah, I'm hungry. How about you? You want to get a Rodi burger?
Natalie: Oh, hold -- hold on there, ok? First of all, it was too loud on the way to Newark, so we couldn't talk, and then when we got there, you were too busy and we couldn't talk, and on the way back, it was too loud, so I want some answers.
Paul: About what?
Natalie: Ok -- what was going on with that Dr. Long? I mean, you know, I understand that I had to hide and he couldn't see me, but --
Paul: Yeah, so I don't lose my job.
Natalie: Right. But what was the deal with that cooler thing?
Paul: I don't know. Hospital-to-hospital transport -- I mean, sometimes it's people, sometimes it's other things.
Natalie: So how come you can't tell me what's in it now?
Paul: It was medical supplies, probably. I --
Natalie: Ok, so what kind of medical supplies would have to be transported cold?
Paul: Well, lots of things -- blood, for one. I mean it's not that big a deal.
Natalie: You being straight with me?
Paul: Yeah. Why wouldn't I be?
Kevin: Jessica, what's bothering you?
Jessica: You know, just forget it.
Kelly: Hey! Hi, guys.
Jessica: Hey, Kelly.
Kevin: Did you get everything you need?
Kelly: Mm-hmm, yep. I had to go to the mall and get Ace some new clothes. He's getting so big.
Jessica: Um -- well, I have to go to the library and pick up some books. I'll see you guys later. Bye.
Kelly: What -- was it something I said?
Kevin: Oh, no, no, it's not your fault. Listen, she's just got a lot on her mind. You know, she's got classes and the column and mom and she's taking care of Jamie almost full-time.
Kelly: Gosh. Well, still, it could make a girl paranoid.
Kevin: Oh, you're paranoid? At least you're not the one accused of stealing money from Buchanan Enterprises.
Roxy: He's not there. Can I help you with something?
Kathryn: Yeah, I'm --
Roxy: Oh, hey. I know who you are.
Kathryn: Ok, I'm here to drop some things off for John.
Roxy: Yeah? Like what kind of things?
Kathryn: Personal things, and they're heavy, so I'd appreciate it if you could let me in and I can drop them off.
Roxy: I can't do that because that's, like, evasion of privacy.
Kathryn: Huh. For 10 bucks?
Roxy: You know times are really kind of tough right now.
Kathryn: How about 20?
Roxy: Cash upfront? Ok, I got it somewhere.
Kathryn: Thank you. Excuse me.
Roxy: Oh, no. I can't let you alone in Johnny Boy's apartment.
Kathryn: I -- I'm dropping off a gift.
Roxy: Oh, yeah, a gift? I love gifts.
Roxy: This is Johnny’s dead fiancée. I saw her picture in the paper after they caught Dr. Death. What are you doing with this?
Kathryn: I'll tell you, but it'll cost you 20 bucks.
Michael: I swear, John, I'm done spying on Dr. Long. Look, I couldn't even if I wanted to.
John: Hmm. So you're done. Maybe just taking up bird watching.
Michael: Well, I have always wanted to see a North American Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker, John.
John: Where's the camera?
Michael: What camera?
John: Your camera. Mom told me she brought your digital camera down here.
Michael: Oh, ratted out by my own mother.
John: Michael, anybody finds out about this, you could lose your job.
Michael: John, this has nothing to do with that, ok?
John: Hey, look, this guy -- he's the Chief of Staff, right? I'm not even in the business and I know he holds your career in his hands. Don't mess this up.
Michael: I know that you are looking out for me, John. I do.
John: Michael, you always wanted to be a doctor -- don't blow it. You think there's a crime going on? All right. Get me involved.
John: I want your word.
Michael: Ok. You have my word, John, ok? I swear I am not going to spy on Dr. Long anymore. I don't even have the camera anymore -- I swear. On pop's grave, I swear.
Paul: Why don't we forget about Dr. Long's mysterious boxes, huh? I mean, I swear I wasn't robbing banks. And I'm not scraping people off of freeways. I transport stuff to different hospitals. That's what I do.
Paul: You know you are way too serious. Why don't we think about where we are for a minute, huh?
Natalie: Ok. Where are we?
Paul: Well, we're on a rooftop, it's an April night, the moon, it's a warm breeze. You look up and you see the stars. You look around and there's nobody here. Why don't we live in the moment? No pain, no worries.
Natalie: I'd like that.
Jessica: Hey, baby.
Jessica: How's my little darling?
Antonio: Well, she's asleep. Hopefully, she'll stay that way for a while.
Jessica: Hmm. Rough day?
Antonio: Well, you know, the usual.
Antonio: What's up?
Jessica: If I were to tell you something, could you listen as a boyfriend and not as a cop?
Antonio: Honey, if you know something about a crime, you know I can't do that.
Jessica: And it's not -- it's not like that, no. Um -- it's just that I was at "The Banner" -- "The Banner-Sun" -- and I was dropping off my column, so I just thought I'd stop in to say hi to Todd and when I got there --
Antonio: When you got there, what?
Jessica: Kelly was with him, and they were in each other's arms.
Antonio: Wait, so you think Kelly’s cheating on Kevin?
Jessica: No, no, no, no. No, no way.
Antonio: So you -- what, you somehow think she's, like, mixed up in this whole B.E. mess?
Jessica: I don't know. She just -- she loves Kevin so much that I know that she wouldn't do anything to hurt him at all.
Antonio: Todd would.
Jessica: Oh, yeah. Yeah. And there was something else. When I was at Rodi’s with Kevin, Kelly showed up and then she lied to Kevin about where she had been. I don't know -- I hate to say it, but I think that Kelly’s up to something.
Kevin: I'll tell you what, Kelly, this thing at work -- I mean, whoever withdrew that money from the B.E. account covered their tracks like a pro. You know, they wanted to make damn sure that I looked guilty.
Kelly: Look, I know you think that Todd did this, but you don't have any proof.
Kevin: Well, I'm going to get proof, and when I do, he's going to go back to jail, where he belongs.
Kelly: I just don't think Todd did this.
Kevin: Of course he did it. He hates me.
Kelly: It's not his style. Besides, you hate him as much as he hates you. I think you're letting your personal feelings color the situation. Todd didn't do this.
Kevin: Why are you defending him?
Starr: My mom's taking me to go see "The Lion King." Why would I run away?
Matthew: Well, you were pretty bummed out about her splitting up with your dad.
Starr: Listen, if they want to wreck their lives, then they can, but I'm not going to run away because of it.
Matthew: All right. Then why'd you pack your computer?
Starr: Do you know how many things get stolen in hotel rooms?
Starr: A lot, and you shouldn't be so trusting. You have to watch your back, Matthew.
Matthew: Are you coming downstairs?
Starr: In a minute.
Matthew: Look, Starr, you're my best friend. If you ever ran away, I'd be really upset. All right, let's go.
Starr: You know what? I want to change first.
Starr: I'll be right down.
River: Oh. What is that?
Adriana: It's called arroz con gandules. The rice is usually more yellow, but I ran out of saffron.
River: I'm sure it's really good. Hmm.
Adriana: Try it.
River: That is really good. Are you eating?
Adriana: Yeah, yeah. I was afraid you wouldn't like it.
River: You could make frozen waffles and I would love it.
Adriana: I would never make frozen waffles. The frozen foods are so full of preservatives and -- you don't like it, do you?
River: No, no, it's -- I just like listening to you talk, is all. I can't believe we're alone.
Adriana: Your food's getting cold.
River: You should ask your family from Puerto Rico to send you up some spices. I'm sorry. I just want –
Paul: I have some blankets in the back. What do you say we make camp and then we'll see what happens?
Natalie: Oh, well, what about your hunger pains for a Rodi burger?
Paul: Burgers later, you and me now.
Dr. Long: What the hell's going on? What's this girl doing up here? I'm sorry, young lady, but this area is strictly off-limits to anyone but hospital staff and flight crews. I just came up to see if we had our chopper back. I'm afraid you'll have to leave.
Natalie: No problem. Paul was just -- showing me the view. See you later, Paul?
Paul: You can count on it.
Dr. Long: Are you actually this stupid?
Paul: Dr. Long, I --
Dr. Long: How dare you bring her up her
Paul: You know what? She's kind of my girlfriend. I was just trying to impress her, and --
Dr. Long: You're fired.
Dr. Long: You heard me. One thing I cannot abide is carelessness.
Paul: Dr. Long, are you sure you don't want to think about this?
Dr. Long: You're done, through. And clean out your locker and leave the premises immediately.
River: What's the matter? Don't you want to?
Adriana: I do, so much, but --
River: I'm scared, too. We can be scared together.
Adriana: It's not that. I just -- I don't want to break my promise. I want to wait till we get married.
River: All right. No, that's cool. If you want to wait, that's fine.
Adriana: Do you hate me?
River: No, no! Oh -- no, listen -- I could never hate you. I love you too much.
Adriana: But you think I'm too old-fashioned.
River: I love that about you. I don't want you to do anything that you're not ready for, ok? I -- I should just -- I should just go, though.
Adriana: But you've hardly eaten anything.
River: Food's not really at the top of my list right now, if you know what I mean. Hey, look, it's not like that. It's just -- it doesn't -- it doesn't matter.
River: Yeah. I love you, and that's never going to change.
Adriana: Then stay. We can watch a movie.
River: It's really late. It's really late. I should go. Hey, I'm going to -- I'm going to call you, all right?
Starr's voice: "Dear mom, this is the hardest letter I've ever had to write. I'm going away for --"
Antonio: See, we could never do this at Llanfair.
Jessica: Sure we could.
Antonio: Oh, sprawl out on your mother's couch and drink the beer? What, are you kidding me? I already have one strike against me after that naked incident.
Jessica: She forgot all about it.
Antonio: Well, what does that say about me?
Jessica: Stop it. I'm going to forget what I'm -- what I'm making notes on.
Antonio: No, you never forget anything.
Jessica: Yes, I will! Stop it! Give it back!
Antonio: Make me.
Jessica: Give it -- give it --
Antonio: Oh. I'll get it.
Jessica: I'll get it. All right, I'll go. I'll go. I'll go.
[Jamie cries loudly]
Jessica: Antonio, Jamie has a fever. She's burning up. Hurry.
Natalie: Hey, you said this was urgent. All right, what is it?
Roxy: Kathryn's here.
Natalie: So what?
Roxy: So she brought over some stuff. You know, personal stuff.
Natalie: Really? Is that a fact?
Kathryn: Apparently, 20 bucks doesn't go as far as it used to.
Roxy: Hey, I'm just looking out for my kid. Give her hell.
Kathryn: That's cute.
Natalie: Yeah. I thought it might be something John would like.
Michael: You know, I’m really happy that you and me are hanging out again.
John: Yeah, me, too.
Michael: I like talking to you. You know, it -- I think it helps.
John: It's a long time coming.
Shannon: You are never going to believe these pictures I got.
John: Maybe I can have a look at them.
Shannon: Um -- well, Michael just let me use this to --
John: Shannon -- it's done, all right? Don't even try, all right? You can go now.
Shannon: Ok, but if you're --
Michael: Shannon --
John: Don't let the door hit you on the way out. This is between the brothers.
Michael: It's ok.
Shannon: I'm sorry.
Michael: It's ok.
John: You lying slug. You lied on your dad's grave.
Michael: No, no. See, I didn't actually lie, because I didn't have the camera. I really did give it to Shannon.
John: Oh, you gave it to Shannon?
John: Hey! You know, if this medical thing doesn't work out for you, you could be a lawyer.
Michael: Look at the pictures, John.
John: You're not getting this back, Michael.
Michael: Will you just look at the pictures? Is it Dr. Long?
John: With Cramer, yeah. Looks like they're -- looks like they're having some kind of argument.
Michael: Ah! I told you! I told you -- ow.
Michael: Told you.
John: Yeah, you told me. Drop this, Michael. It's not kids' stuff.
Natalie: They looked really happy.
Kathryn: They were.
Natalie: You knew Caitlin?
Kathryn: Caitlin was my sister.
Kevin: Oh, hey, Paul.
Paul: What's up?
Kevin: Why don't you have a seat?
Paul: You know, I wouldn't be very good company right now.
Kevin: Are you sure? Have a seat.
Kelly: He doesn't want to.
Kevin: Well, then at least keep my wife company while I take this.
Paul: Well, today tanked.
Kelly: Huh. What happened to you?
Paul: I got fired.
Kelly: Oh, I'm sorry.
Paul: Yeah. Me, too. I mean, what am I going to do for a living now?
Kelly: I guess you'll find something else.
Paul: Maybe. But if I don't, you're going to have to give me some more cash.
Kelly: I've already given you $10,000. I'm in way over my head.
Paul: We're both way over our heads. You’re just going to have to deal with it.
Shannon: What are you doing on my roof?
River: Hey. What, are you following me, or what?
Shannon: Oh, don't flatter yourself, Carpenter. I was up here earlier. I dropped my keys.
Shannon: See? Exhibit A.
River: What were you doing up here in the first place?
Shannon: I was on a top-secret spy mission.
Shannon: It's true. Irish honor.
River: Ok. Who were you spying on?
Shannon: This really hot couple. I mean they were going at it. Tabloid style. A real paparazzi's dream.
River: Oh. Where's the pictures?
Shannon: Well, I don't have them. But I could show you.
Natalie: You're Caitlin’s sister?
Kathryn: That's right.
Natalie: Oh. And you guys just conveniently let that slip out now?
John: Oh, I'm sorry, I thought this was my room. Look at that. Number four -- it is my room.
Kathryn: I was just telling Natalie about Caitlin and me.
Natalie: Ahem. You didn't think to mention that they were sisters?
John: No. You and I don't tell each other everything. For instance, I didn't know you liked helicopters.
Jessica: Oh, she'll probably sleep through the night now.
Antonio: Oh, thank goodness
Jessica: Poor little girl. God, I love her so much.
Antonio: Be her mother. Listen, she already thinks you are.
Jessica: Yeah, much to R.J.'s disappointment.
Antonio: Yeah, well, you know what, he's just going to have to get used to it. We're already a family.
Jessica: Antonio, getting married -- it just -- it changes everything.
Antonio: I'm the one who's been divorced --
Jessica: Yeah, I know!
Jessica: And I don't want that to happen to us.
Antonio: Well, we won't, all right? It won’t. We won't let it.
Jessica: You're pressuring me. Do you realize that?
Antonio: I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Call it what you want.
Jessica: I -- I love you, and I love Jamie, and I love our home here. But I just -- I just -- I want more. Don't take that the wrong way, ok?
Antonio: Well, I'm -- I'm sorry -- you just said you want more than me? How am I supposed to take it?
Jessica: No -- no, I want to -- I want to do more. Ok? I -- I want to -- I want to run "The Banner" someday. That's my dream.
Antonio: Well, I'm not stopping you.
Jessica: I know, but I -- I would stop me. I want to be a great wife and a great journalist. And right now, I'm not ready to be either.
Antonio: Ok, well, you -- you -- all right. I don't -- I don't get it. I mean, I -- I hear what you're saying. But how does marriage stop you from doing anything?
Jessica: Antonio, because -- because you know -- you know what you are. You know where you are. You know -- and you also know what it's like to get where you are -- paying your dues, working the long hours, getting the worst assignments. Wouldn't feel right about doing that if we were married.
Antonio: Those are your issues, not mine.
Jessica: Yeah, I know.
Jessica: I know they're my issues. It's just -- I love you so much. And I love Jamie, and I just don't want that to change.
Antonio: So what are we going to do?
Jessica: Maybe if we could just leave things open-ended. You know? If you're ok with that, we could be engaged.
Antonio: Are you sure?
Jessica: I'm positive.
Shannon: Come on, don't you want to see more?
Kathryn: Agent Fitzgerald.
Natalie: Fitzgerald? Fitzgerald? Oh, my God. How did I not know this? How could you keep this a secret?
John: I didn't think it was relevant.
Natalie: "Relevant"? What the hell does that mean?
Kathryn: That was the California field office on the phone. They definitely want Cramer’s testimony. So keep an eye on him, ok?
John: Fine. Natalie, wait.
Natalie: Listen, I don't want to overhear any of your bureau secrets.
John: I want you to take a look at something.
Natalie: My personal life is none of your business.
John: Agreed. You're a big girl and you can make your own decisions, but this is a mistake. Cramer is not one of the good guys. Unless you want to end up in trouble, you might want to think about staying away from him.
Paul: Really, I did this for you. I got you your baby. And if you don't help me out, I'm going to tell Kevin the whole nasty little story.
Kelly: Oh, I'm so tired of your threats.
Kevin: We have to go. See you later.
Matthew: Starr? What's taking you so long?
Matthew: Starr, are you in there?
Man: Hey, kid, what are you doing out here all alone?
On the next "One Life To Live" --
Blair: I'm up here going crazy because Starr has disappeared!
Todd: All right, I'm on my way.
Starr: We can go anywhere.
Travis: I always wanted to go there.
Starr: Why not?
Natalie: Why is it that you're so suddenly protective when you see me kissing Paul?
